Defeat The Godmodder

Looking over at the mop bucket and the janitorial uniform I open up a tear in reality and drop the stuff into a pocket dimension so I can access the gear at a later date. I don't want to end up destroying the uniform and mop bucket if the strange machine proves dangerous after all.

Naturally as foolish curious as always I calmly walk over to the mysterious janitorial machine and start pressing all of the buttons on it rapidly. For better or for worse I'm going to learn what this odd janitorial machine does, hopefully this doesn't prove to be a horrible mistake.

You have pocket(dimension)ed the Janitor Uniform and Mop Bucket! They won't be taken with you if you leave the quest (mostly due to them being useless outside of the quest).

As soon as you push the first button on the machine, a mechanical arm with a syringe pops out and injects you! You feel kinda... woozy...

...

Cloak: Hey... Player, you okay?

Cloak: You were on the floor mumbling for about a minute. I think that chemical was truth serum, because you were telling me some... weird stuff there.

You get up off the floor. Looking at the machine, the button you pressed first was the biggest one. A small screen has lit up, with the letters "90%". Maybe its the amount of that chemical left? And the other buttons could be configuration options, but you still don't know how they worked... maybe this could be useful!

"Well I guess we know at least one function of this device, fun." I open up the pocket dimension and toss the truth serum machine into it. Reaching into through the tear I pull out the janitoral uniform.
I quickly put the janitor uniform on, hopefully it'll prove to be an effective disguise in this place.

Moving out of the janitor closet I walk over to the Surveillance door, eyeing its lock. Clapping my hands conjure up a Mark Seven Apache Class Breaking Charge and clamp it to the exact center of the door. I input the exact measurements of the door and after backing away to a safe distance it activates, disintegrating the door and the door alone. I'm not one for collateral damage after all.

You pocket-dimension the truth serum machine and "open" the surveillance door. As you do so, some sensors inlaid into the door frame are revealed. With the turn gone, they quickly turn from blue to red, and begin beeping.

Cloak: Great. Someone somewhere may or may not have been alerted.

Cloak: I honestly don't know. This place is an insane blend of neglect and efficiency.

Entering into the surveillance room (Cloak stays behind), you see a simple, almost empty room, with a large array of screens displaying about 50 different rooms, on the wall behind a large control panel, filled with switches and buttons. At the center of the panel is a small swivel chair, with a very, very large SURVEY-DRONE-MKIV sitting on it. And he's looking right at you.

Survey-Drone: JANITOR ENTRY. INQUIRY. ROOM CLEANING SCHEDULED IN: APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS.

Survey-Drone: STATE NAME. NUMBER. PURPOSE.

What do you say??

"Two weeks from now?" I shake my head. "That can't be right. My orders are to clean this room at this precise date, I recommend you check your information again." I calmly state. "My name is Rob and my number is 7690."

Naturally thanks to some subtle usage of player powers when the Survey-Drone-MKIV does check the data regarding janitorial staff and the related information like cleaning schedules it does indeed find that today is the date set for the Surveillance room to be cleaned.

Obviously I also created records of a janitor named Rob and with the number 7690, a individual that just recently joined the janitorial staff of this facility plus making sure all the data creation and manipulation is completely unnoticeable and looks authentic. It doesn't hurts to be extra careful in case the Survey-Drone-MKIV decides to look further than just the cleaning schedule.

After waiting an appropriate length of time for the Survey-Drone-MKIV to check its information I say, "Now may I please be allowed to perform my assigned task?"

You attempt to "use your player powers" to insert the entries into the database. But how? Do you hack it? Your player power usage fails!

Survey Drone: Negative. Task scheduling is consistent. Employee Rob: Not found. Number 7690: Invalid.

Survey Drone: Come with me immediately. Refusal will call security.

The Survey Drone moves faster than you, scoops you up in his claws (throwing you over his shoulder) and scoots right out into the hallway as Cloak ducks behind some nearby debris! He's heading for the door back into the main lobby...

Quick! What do you do!?

Internally laughing I manage to just barely suppress my urge to laugh out loud at my embarrassing mistake. Fortunately though my attempt might have failed the Survey-Drone-MKIV has just handed me a great opportunity by choosing to carry me.

After granting myself ridiculous hacking skill via a direct (and very carefully done to avoid any problems like accidentally getting their personality in my head) mind download from various hackers in fiction I turn my hand into digital energy. Reaching inside the Survey-Drone-MKIV I promptly make an absolute wreck of its internal systems. That data transfer leading from its sensors and cameras to its core? Blocked by replicating and modulating firewalls, effectively blinding it. The delicate subroutes that control its limbs and mobility? Twisted to make any attempts to use them just cause the commanded limb to hit the Survey Drone itself. Its access to communications, ability to link to data streams, and even just its voice box? Cut off with more modulating and replicating firewalls which make it impossible to call security or anything else to help it.

Needless to say whatever defenses the Survey Drone tries to toss up against me are easily torn apart. Having immense hacking skills, player power, and direct access to the drone itself makes such things child's play.

Calling out to Cloak I say, "Cloak get over here and help me by either weakening it or working to take over its core! There's no time to waste!"

OOC: To be fair I won't be surprised if I've made a similar mistake before.

The Surveybot immediately goes into Shutdown mode! It looks like its activated its last-ditch shutdown loop, in the emergency of it being taken control of! A cursory glance reveals that the emergency shutdown loop is hardcoded into the hardware itself... the only way to end it is to remove the CPU Motherboard Processor Unit!

Somewhere, an automatic system detects the sudden unexpected shutdown of a Survey Drone. Appropriate measures are taken.

Cloak runs over to help you, helpfully replacing the "property of Evacucorp incorpated" engraved text with engraved "property of CaptainNZZZ".

Cloak: This is quite the crazy plan! Do we take this thing over, and use it to try and storm the place, or just disable it permanently and use the surveillance control panel?

Cloak: If you want to take this thing over, I can use the control panel. Either way, I have the feeling that on the off-chance security wasn't coming before, we're in for it now.

This endeavor feels like its taking forever! Though, considering this place may or may not literally be purgatory, it makes sense. You feel like one way or another, the end of this sidequest can't be delayed too much longer.

I nod. "When in doubt, keep going one's terrible ideas."

Locating the CPU Motherboard Processor Unit by remembering where the drone's core was during my hacking attempt I cause that portion of the drone to become intangible, the CPU Motherboard Processor Unit falling right out of the Survey Drone and into the ground.

Popping my fingers I conjure up a C.L.T.C Motherboard Processor Unit and teleport it into the space the CPU Motherboard Processor Unit had previously occupied. As C.L.T.C stands for Completely Loyal To CaptainNZZZ it's programmed to be completely loyal to me, I prefer not to make another mistake at this critical moment.

The C.L.T.C unit quickly interfaces with the Survey Drone's frame, sending out complex subroutes to both reactivate and take control of the frame as the unit itself remains safe behind layers of cyber-defenses.

Looking over at Cloak I shout, "Get to that control panel, I have a feeling we're going to need it soon!"

Yet as I work to convert the Survey-Drone-MKIV to my side worry begins to full the back of my mind. Despite all the time I've spend in Evacucorp and everything I've done here I still haven't found any of the entities I came here to reclaim. Considering how I feel like this side-adventure will end this is very concerning. Hopefully with the Survey Drone and Cloak using control panel in the Surveillance room we'll manage to reach my entities because otherwise this trip will have been a complete failure.

As everything clicks together, one last check is made: The engraving! It find "property of CaptainNZZZ" engraved on the Survey Drone. Clearly, everything else must be true! The systems are reconciled, and the Survey Drone MKIV is yours.

Cloak runs over to the surveillance cameras.

Cloak: Huh. That looks like a big crowd of... are they... yeah... yeah, they are...

Cloak: CAPTAINNZZZ! INCOMING!!!

You realize what's about to happen, and realize that you'll be pinned down if the fight happens here! You hop into the Survey Drone, and ride it straight through the doors back into the lobby!

--------

Quite a welcoming party is waiting for you. The lobby is eerily quiet, except for the shifting of machinery. A small army of bots await you, with several elites and special units standing out. The floor is clear as ever, and the wide space and height of the lobby give you plenty of room to maneuver. The people from before are gone, possibly evacuated. These factors combine to make a surprisingly usable battlefield for a lobby like this.

Looks like the full security force has finally arrived.

One of the bots in front, the commander, steps up.

Commandrone 10K: Target sighted. All units. Open fire.

Everyone trains their guns on you, and the battle is on!

--------

Currently, you're protected by the chassis of the Survey Drone! Looking at the control panel, you see it has several abilities you can call on! Using one costs 1 action, but they don't have any cooldown and can be used as many times each turn as you want.

Call Secu-Droids: Calls a handful (of 3) friendly Secu-Droids to aid the Survey Drone! However, they take a turn to arrive!

Scan: Scans an enemy type, allowing you to learn its weak points! All attacks you make against that enemy type deal double damage!

Beamshield: Forms a shield of light around you that blocks 2 attacks.

Only one problem... this thing doesn't have any main guns. Or standard ways to attack at all. You'll have to be creative! Relying on regular attacks to kill these guys would take a long time!

New Battle Sidequest change: Player-team stuff is tinted blue, enemies that need to be killed are tinted red! Does it look okay? Feedback is appreciated!

This might look tough, but creative actions with a tool as powerful as the Survey Drone could allow CaptainNZZZ to do WAY more than the normal amount of damage to these guys.

Popping my fingers I hit the Call Secu-Droids ability (x1) because with this scale of enemy forces I'll need that help soon.

While I activate the Beamshield (x1) to reduce how much damage my Survey Drone will take I look across the Lobby, a frown on my face. This is going to be a pain to win but here goes nothing!

Looking at the Elite Bot Warrior I wait until the moment that the Evaucorp forces open fire and telekinetically yank the Elite Bot Warrior into the line of fire. (x1) While I certainly don't have enough firepower to kill off one of the most powerful bots in one turn by using the Elite Bot Warrior as a makeshift meat shield against the sheer level of firepower the Evaucorp bots they can kill the Elite Bot Warrior.

OOC: Sorry for how long I've been gone and yes the color change makes it much easier to quickly look over the list of entities. Oh and if the teleportation/meatshield use of the Elite Bot Warrior needs more than x1 action to do use the Beamshield action.

Secu-Droids are being called! A shield forms around your Survey Drone, that can block some of the attacks!

You YOINK the Elite Bot Warrior into the main line of fire of the smaller units on the field!

--------

The Level 9000 Secu-Droids fire alongside the Drone Servicelings, ignorant of the Elite Bot Warrior in their path! All their shots get blocked, and the Elite Bot Warrior takes 36,000 damage! The Elite Bot Warrior is too winded to fire... the Commanddrone follows up, hitting his target (you), damaging your Beamshield! Meanwhile, the Anti-Tank Gunbots fire anti-mechanical missiles, which soar above the Elite Bot Warrior and slam into you! The beam shield crumples after the first, and the second hits the Survey-Drone-MKIV for 60,000 damage!

Looks like the Anti-Tank Gunbots are the biggest threat... they're smart enough to fire last! The enemy forces ready for another round of fire!

"Ugh, why do they have to be smart enough to not completely fall for my tricks." I mutter underneath my breath.

Taking advantage of the lobby's expansive interior I quickly conjure new servos and mini-jets onto the Survey Drone's frame, granting it a fair degree of evasion. (x1)

Glaring at the troublesome Anti-Tank Gunboats I cover and fill their weapons with a regenerating and highly durable semi-liquid, that should prevent them from attacking for at least a turn. (x1)

Telekinetically reaching out to the Elite Bot Warrior I apply a telekinetic grip to its power source, thoroughly crushing it to scrap metal. Even if it doesn't the power source doesn't explode from being telekinetically crushed having what supplies a bot the power it needs to function wrecked is pretty unhealthy for the affected bot. (x1)

New survos and mini-jets ensure your Survey Drone a 20% dodge rate! The Anti-Tank Gunbots are forced to call for Repair bots to help clean their weapons, as they can't do it themselves! They're out of commission until repair bots arrive! Crushing the Elite Bot Warrior's power source deals 10,000 damage!

--------

The two Secu-Droids fire at your Survey Drone, and both hit, dealing 20,000 damage! The Drone Servicelings follow up, and you take evasive maneuvers, managing to dodge one and only take 16,000 damage! The Commandrone takes into account his damaged Anti-Tank bots, and radios for a repair-bot squad! They'll take a moment to arrive! The Elite Bot Warrior switches to backup power and gets his attack off properly after his previous humiliation, dealing 75,000 damage to the Survey Drone!

Your reinforcements appear! Three fresh Secu-Droids! Feel free to give them commands!

I quickly order my Secu-Droids to blast away at the Commandrone, I need to start chipping away at its large pool of health.

Looking across the battlefield I spot the Commandrone ready to unleash its Penetrating Laser ability and grin. It's time to turn a foe's special ability to serve my needs.

Focusing I telekinetically spin the Commandrone towards the other Evaucorp bots, forcibly activating the Penetrating Laser ability with some minor probability and temporal manipulation. Yet I'm not just simply making this ability not be a threat to my forces, no I'm doing much more. The Penetrating Laser immediately splits into three separate beams and (if possible with a FOCUSED action) are amplified in power. These beams are promptly manipulated with a combination of portals and energy manipulation into striking the Elite Bot Warrior and the two Anti-Tank Gunbots. I'm not taking any chances in case the Commandrone can control the Penetrating Beam it fires.

The Commandrone is forced to activate PENETRATING LASER early! The laser fires at its redirected targets, the Elite Bot Warrior and the Anti-Tank Gunbots! All three are struck, and take 30,000 damage! The Elite Bot Warrior is slain!

-------

Your Secu-Droids fire at the Commandrone for 24,000 damage!

The two enemy Secu-Droids, along with three Servicelings, fire at one of your Secu-Droids and destroy it! Two more servicelings fire at you, dealing 8,000 damage! The Commandrone recovers and phones for reinforcements... careful, something special might be coming!

The Repair Drones show up! But wait... one is going to your side!

I quickly activate the 'Call Secu-Droids' ability, no doubt I'm going to need them once again. (x1)

I pilot my Survey Drone forwards and pick up one of the Level 9000 Secu-Droid off of the ground, a smile on my face. I promptly throw the Level 9000 Secu-Droid right into Commandrone with immense force. (x1)

Muttering something about 'I'm going to die' I wait until the mysterious reinforcements appear and then force push one of the Drone Serviceling in front of the entity with the strongest attack. So far it seems the best way for me to kill these Evaucorp bots is to have them kill themselves. (x1)

You call for more reinforcements!

The Secu-Droid Crashes into the Commandrone, destroying the Secu-Droid and dealing 20,000 damage to the Commandrone!

You try to grab a drone serviceling for a pre-emptive block, but it manages to wiggle out of your hands... dang!

---------

The Repair Drone patches you up a bit!

Everyone fires at you, and you somehow manage to not dodge ANYONE'S attacks! You take 58,000 damage!

Suddenly, all the enemy troops pull to the side in two groups! They're making way for... what is that...

A side-door explodes out the wall, and two giant, motorized bombs come rolling STRAIGHT for you! Bomb drones! If they hit, you'll be destroyed for sure! Find a way to stop them!

Papers, Please - XXVI
I begin chuckling. "Oh Evaucorp, are you kidding me? You brought me ammunition!"

With a twist of my head I FOCUS. Instantly I selectively alter gravity, suddenly changes it to change direction and intensify, sending just the Evaucorp bots to the left of the room to promptly crash together into a pile. Naturally I also cover both the Evaucorp forces and the floor with grease to make sure they all go flying into said pile. Next I send highly convincing digital commands to the two Bomb Drones to blow up, conjure up minor explosions inside of their bomb filled chassis to cause a chain reaction, pray to the gods of explosions to try and get their aid in making the Bomb Drones explode right now, and manipulate probability to aid my detonation of the Bomb Drones. As the age old saying goes, 'when you can't beat them, have them beat each other.' Well at least something to that effect.

You fling all the Evacucorp bots, except the Commandrone, who manages to stay standing! This includes the Bomb Drones, who, thanks to prayer and probability, suffer a very timely malfunction and EXPLODE right within the big pile of Evacucorp bots! Not only are the bombs destroyed, but all the other enemies are destroyed as well!

-------

The last remaining foe, the Commandrone, looks one as you receive more Secu-Droids to back you up... Looks like things are just about wrapped up!

Suddenly, the Commandrone stops moving, and stands stock still. Cloak calls out to you.

Cloak: Hey! I managed to communicate to someone, and... well, we've finally earned the right to talk to a REAL PERSON!

The commandrone begins speaking, a female voice... it's relaying the message to you, like a telephone!

Commandrone: My name is Amanda, support service person clearance level 3 here at Evacucorp!

Commandrone: It has recently come to our attention that you have caused a Class II disturbance in one of our Evacucorp lobbies.

Commandrone: In the interests of the safety and peace of this place for our departed souls, my superiors have authorized me to offer you a deal.

Commandrone: In your file, we have that you have two entities registered to us. They have been prepared for immediate release, fully brushed with Buff-While-You-Wait services.

Commandrone: If you agree to leave this place immediately and never return, we will release your entities to you for use immediately in the Hexagonafield location.

Commandrone: Otherwise, we will be forced to bring the full might of our forces to deal with you.

Commandrone: Please state your choice.
