Defeat The Godmodder

Cybercrime V
Are you saying there was nothing in 000003.doc? Is so, I physically grab the Legendaryweaponnotes.pad and stuff it in my pants, because no one is prevented enough to grab at a person's crouch (or at least I hope so...)
I go into Godmodcontrolhub.exe (good luck CoreBrute, I gonna look somewhere else)

You try to "grab" the file and stuff it in your clothes, but your cyber-hands just pass right through! You'll have to open it up...

You fly out to the main desktop and open up Godmodcontrolhub.exe! A portal appears, and you start to fly closer... wait... is that portal glowing red?

ZZZZZZZTTT! A giant laser shoots out of godmodcontrolhub.exe, catching you right in the face! You're fried and exhausted now, but you've got no choice but to keep dodging the constant defenses! Your cyber-body is too wounded to keep this up much longer... -20% cyber-energy!

OOC: Pfft. Evil clone? I already did that back on page 14. Although the GM seems to have forgotten about him, so I should be in the clear unless I randomly remind him, but why would I do that?

"Damn, which one should I pick?" Deo holds his hands together as he thinks. "Man, I'm so uncertain..." As he does, to an outside viewer it would seem like the world has started to vibrate wildly. "I guess I should go with this file."

Suddenly the universe splits into 15 different screens, each with a different version of Deo heading to a different file. He stops before the files, then looks at a large device with a radar.

"15 dots? There shouldn't be more than 1 dot!" He looks shocked, before shrugging. "Eh, I'll fix reality before it becomes an issue. Maybe."

OOC: I'm essentially fracturing time/reality though uncertainty, where each version of myself, each choosing a different file to execute. Of course the different but equally possible impossibilities of myself don't have a way to communicate with each other, but I'm sure they'll figure it out. (It makes sense in Rick and Morty season 2 episode 1).

15 separate timeline-versions of you appear! All 15 of you open up one of the 15 files! All 15 of you are blasted, because EVERY SINGLE ONE was a trap. Of course it was. Every single one of you loses their trap-protection you set up earlier! Then, since all of you are pretty much in the same position, you all merge back properly into one timeline. Looks like there wasn't anything here after all.

"That sorted itself out then." Deo notes as he picks himself up. He then notices Eevee get blasted down.

"No!" He runs over to their prone form with a medical cart. He pulls out a medical defibrillator. "Everyone clear!" He yells out, before jamming the defibrillator on their chest and zapping them.

"Live damn it, live!" He blasts again, recharging Eevee Shadow Bacon's Cybernergy energy pool. He sighs, wiping sweat off his brow. "I've done all I can."

He then heads to Legendaryweaponnotes.pad and opens it.
EDIT: Apparently, no, he doesn't do that, because Shadow bacon is doing the same thing. Instead he checks email.exe.

You move to give Eevee shadow bacon some help, but then see them heading towards the legendary weapon notes, and... are overcome with a sudden, overpowering feeling of dread. The dread that this would be a total waste of effort. Besides, standing still long enough to give Eevee Shadow Bacon energy in this manner would involve getting hit by a lot of energy-reducing lasers - you'd essentially be trading your own cyberenergy in equal amounts for whatever you gave Eevee.

You open Email.exe! A standard inbox-type structure opens, with a few recent emails. Looks like they're all unopened. Their aren't any read/opened emails - either this is a very new inbox, or the godmodder deletes emails when he's done with them.

I open Legendaryweaponnotes.pad

You open the notepad! You see a blank white page appear, and once it loads, it will probably be full of glorious secrets about the legenda- wait, why did the screen go all black?

Suddenly, black chains appear, holding you in an X-position! You can't move at all! You struggle to break free, and maybe you could have earlier, but now... now you're just too weak! The lasers all aim at you and fire at once, ALMOST completely obliterating you. And it's only an "almost" because at the last second, you use the last of your energy to teleport outside of the godmodder's cyberspace and back onto the Hexagonafield.

You ran out of energy. You're back on the battlefield now, and Corebrute is all alone.

Deo worries that he doesn't have enough power left to open the note pad. He's only got 10% more power than Eevee had when they opened the file. It would be safer to just go through the emails...screw it! Those are all probably scams or traps! Time to go for broke!

"But first, those chains. No way I can avoid them. Well. Not yet." He whipped out a black large phone from the 90s that snapped open.

"Operator?" His trusted operator responded.

"Tank I need to become a master in escapology, specializing in Godmodder chains." There were the sounds of various floppy disks being moved around on the other end. "Hurry." Deo says, as he dodged the lazers.

Deo's eyes suddenly start flickering as the skills are downloaded into his mind.

"Let's go." He then opened the Legendaryweaponnotes.pad, his body braced and ready to escape from any chains in moments.

OOC: This might be my last moment in cyber space. I needed to squeeze at least 1 Matrix reference in, no matter how forced. So yes, I spend an action to become an expert in escaping/slipping out of chains, then open the pad, hoping my skill will let me survive better than Eevee.

You successfully acquire CHAIN TRAP IMMUNITY! You re-open legendaryweaponnotes.pad, but the chains are easily escaped! You fly in, just as the window closes behind you... And you find... you find...

Well, it's certainly not any legendary weapon notes. The real notes were somewhere else, that file was nothing but a trap. But you flew in at just the right time to end in the godmodder's TRAPCODE network. The backdoor into the godmodder's control hub! You did it! You made it in!

In front of you, you face the back of multiple switches. You stay still and look, because in this place, the lasers have stopped. But then - you look up. Turrets. Instant-death homing missile launchers. Everything. As soon as you move, you'll only have seconds before the cyber-motion sensors activate and the place is bathed in raw destruction. You've got just enough time to either move one of the switches, or abscond and do something else with what little strength you have left.

Godshock switch(flipped down)

Endgame switch(flipped down)

You also see many more smaller switches, evidently less important. They aren't marked, and you have no idea if flipping them will do anything important. You could mess with them, but it would probably just be a waste of time.

The Veil I
Due to Arsenical currently being incapacitated, the Narrator shall CONFIRM.

After all, it would be silly for him to be knocked out for no reason.

SIDEQUEST BEGUN: THE VEIL

You're in a forest, surrounded by trees that seem to stretch endlessly in every direction. Above you, the sky is blue and clear, but you don't see any sun. A simple, dirt path stretches in front of you. Everything seems in order, but also... off.

Behind you, the path trails off into the trees, growing thinner, and eventually seems to end. In front of you, the path stretches onwards. You can hear a creek babbling in the distance.

(Feel free to interact with your environment in any way you desire - to look closer at details, or do something else)

The Veil II
Well... This isn't what I expected.

... Huh? why am I doing first person?

Oh, yeah. Knocked out. In the Dreamlands. Narrator still awake. We did not think this through.

Oh well. this place certainly seems nice. Blue sky, distant creek, but that ever present feeling of wrongness is just too strong for me to relax! Be vigilant!

First, I go to the end of the path behind me, and I look around at the woods. A path that leads to nowhere, a path that comes from nowhere... What is the reason for it existing?

Hopefully I don't have to collect eight notes or some horror movie stuff like that.

You head back a ways along the path. It slowly gets thinner, and eventually trails off into a grassy patch. Trees surround you. There seems to be nothing on this side of the path.

Looking at the grass, again... it looks a little still. You can feel a breeze, but the grass isn't moving.

Dreamland Forest:
Path(Can be followed)

The Veil III
Strange. Doesn't seem that there's anything here. For the second time, I wonder why this path would exist here.

Guess there's not much more to do over on this side. I turn back around and walk along the longer stretch of the path. However, most of my attention is spent on the forest to the left and right, looking for any kind of movement.

Nothing moves. Not the leaves or animals, or anything. The tree trunks have the wood twist in these weird formations. Are those... faces...?

Eventually, you reach something that does move: A stream! Clear-looking water flows through, and a bridge crosses over it. You're feeling kind of thirsty... you can stop for a drink, or continue walking along the path. Across the bridge, you can see the path turn and disappear behind a wall of trees.

The Veil IV
Hm... A drink would be nice, but... No. I've read too many tales of heroes eating whatever food or drink and then something happens to them because of it.

Additionally, I don't want to look away from those trees. They're really creepy. I walk over to one and begin examining it.

You walk closer to a tree. It's completely still. Not just the trunk, but the leaves and branches too. Although your initial inspection caught one big face, a closer look reveals that the tree trunk has been twisted - or, is twisted - into many different face-like shapes of many different sizes. Their mouths are open, and it looks kind of... painful.

Honestly, this is freaking you out a little. Best continue.

"Like I said, creepy." I thought as I looked at the twisted faces on the tree. "This is almost certainly real people turned into wooden trees. I bet it."

But, well, I couldn't do anything about it without getting more information, so I continued forward across the bridge and on the turning path.

"Everything is so silent. So surreal."

You continue on the forest path, and walk for quite some time, with little changes in the environment, though the path does take a lot of twists and turns. You reach a large gate. Beyond the gate, the trees end, the path widens out, and eventually becomes a proper road. Far, far in the distance, you can see a bright white castle. Light seems to emanate from it.

More importantly, there's a guard guarding the gate immediately in front of you. He stands in completely white armor, but isn't completely still like the rest of the environment - you can see him shifting slightly. Or, you assume its a him. His helmet covers his entire face, and you can't see a thing underneath. He's holding a white blade. You're not sure what metal it's made out of to appear white instead of steely-colored.

What will you say to him?

"Ooh, red text! That means he's on our side!" I think upon hearing him, disregarding the fact that I just heard the guard's words in red.

"My name is Arsenical! I am on a humble quest, fine guard, to obtain the legendary weapon of the land, and to kill the godmodder with it!" I lie, making my words red as well so that there's a greater chance of him believing me.

The guard nods, and steps aside.

Guard: Your arrival has been awaited. Please proceed along the path. Your objective is to meet Leader.

A bit odd-sounding, but now you have a place to go.

You walk along the path for a good ways. The castle draws near. It looks... very big. A trick of perspective made it look like a normal castle a normal distance away, but the more you walk, the more you realize it was a really big castle that was really far away. All this walking... you're starting to get tired!

Luckily, you come across a small building made of stone. Above it is a sign reading "Dream Coffee". Go inside? Well, why not?

Inside, the place has some simple wooden tables and chairs, but appears to be entirely abandoned save for the attendant. Once you're done looking around, you look back at the attendant to find him staring at you. You didn't say anything, but he starts speaking anyways.

Attendant: Coffee for sale. Black? Creamy? Or with sugar?

What do you do? Ask for some coffee? Or leave?
