Magic and Monsters XVII
I believe I forgot to regenerate mana last turn. Apologies.

I create and recycel two spells and reset pionoplayer (again)

+14 Mana! You reset Pionoplayer, ensuring he can cast his spell!

Weird. I should have 14 Mana, because of Mana Speed-up.

I create one spell, recycle it, use Curezap, and create a spell that can summon an army of minions.

Whoops. Mana restored.

You cast CUREZAP! You are cured of Liferot (as is Quetzalcoatl) and Mana Speed-up. Kyleruler is cured of Paralysis.

Minion army spell: 19/20: Massive Army Swarm: Summons a massive army of allies to come to your aid. They take 3 turns to arrive. Mana cost: 25

"Well, on the plus side, I think we have a good contender for the Ring. I vote United States of America Smash be put into the Ring."

I turn to Pionoplayer. "Aside from that, Piono, do you want me to cast Mutation on you? You wanted Damage Buffs, but I wanna make sure before I cripple ya." I hold off on my Actions for now. Thankfully things look handled Status Effect-wise.

+1 vote for United States of America smash! Don't worry, you'll have an opportunity to decide once Quetzalcoatl is dead.

While I feel devastated over the potential we could have if the meteor was still here I focus more on making a few more entities.

Action:
Raising my hands, I cast the spells Summon Knight and Summon Shieldbearer into the field.
After that, I recycle the Eraser Bonk so I may use Stab onto the boss.

Seeing as no one is really giving orders to the Tech God Copy, I order it to hack the minisnakes. Those things can really hurt...

Another knight and another Shieldbearer appear! You also Stab at the boss, dealing 10,000 damage!

Piono looks at Spicy and nods.
"I think that with that kind of power I can finish this off."

Piono waits until all other player spells have been cast this round, then casts magic muscle on himself.

He then recycles rune appearify, rune summoning, ignite and summon roots
And then creates a spell that will cause the target to take more damage from incoming attacks for one round. If that spell comes up without negative effects on, then Piono casts it.

If the vulnerability spell comes up bad, he casts magic muscle on himself a second time (if possible. Nothing was said that you can't add onto the modifier by casting it on the same target multiple times, so I'm going to assume that I can, but that it doesn't add multiplicatively, so that casting it on the same target twice gives you x3 damage, not x4)

After all this is done, Piono activates the sextuplet of rapture runes, in a massive glare of light, a multi-elemental blast of immense power slams into the usurper god.

Takes effect at the end of the turn...

"Right, I'll have it done in a second."

I Sacrifice: Reestablish!

I Cast: Mutation on Pionoplayer!

I Create Spell: Sunny Days!
I Sacrifice: Sunny Days!
I Sacrifice: Mutation!

I Cast: Rejuvenate on Pionoplayer!

+7 Mana! Pionoplayer MUTATES, gaining doubled power but less HP! Pionoplayer is also REJUVENATED for 50,000 HP!

Since I'm still paralyzed, I... wait a sec, there could be another meteor.

""Oh, geez. With you all the -kzzt- way, Spicy. Something tells me we're in for -zap- experience. Everyone back at home front, use this time to prepare -(insert paralysis sound here)- ! We'll need it!"

Since I don't want the natural 20 to go to waste, I merely correct the mana bar, since Banner of Light is still active, and attempt to use my three actions plus the reality spaz / time warp (I doubt we beat Quetzalcoatl in .2 seconds) to get rid of my paralysis.

MP: [||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||] 29/30
HP: [||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||] 120K/150K

Whoopsies with the mana bar, yeah. In fact, you've already gotten rid of the paralysis! DragonofHope's curezap did it for you!

---------

Pionoplayer's actions activates!

Enemy weak point spell: 17/20: Elemental discovery: Discover an enemy's elemental weak point. Striking it with the right element lets you do double damage. Mana cost: 15

Pionoplayer casts Elemental Discovery on Quetzalcoatl, exposing his secret weakness to ice! Then, Pionoplayer activates RUNE RAPTURE! It does 30,000 damage normally, but thanks to Mutation, it does 60,000, and thanks to hitting Quetzalcoatl's ice weakness, Quetzalcoatl takes 120,000 damage!

QUETZALCOATL IS SLAIN!

--------

The snake suddenly lifts his head up and roars! The snake's high-pitched shrieks echoes throughout the land, forcing the Players to cover their ears! All across the Land of Magic and Knowledge, monsters surrender and lose the will to fight. Without their leader, there is no point. Presumably, your Iron Golems, if they're still alive, just got an easy win for their battle.

Above your head, the black sky shimmers, wavers... and then fades out of existence, to reveal a cool turquoise-green sky, with a sun gently shining down. The God of Magic's personal preference for his realm. Speaking of them... You can hear his voice once again!

GOMAK: Players! Thank you! Finally, finally! My power is restored, and my land is restored to rights! I can handle the rebuilding from here.

GOMAK: You came here initially to seek an audience, yes? Well... I'm sure you have other things to do. Let's waste no more time!

A small portal open up on the ground in front of you, a gentle blue light coming from it. You all waltz in and teleport out - you're worried the giant snake-corpse around you is going to start smelling soon!

--------

You emerge safely from the portal in the Hall of Knowledge. Pillars stretch far above to the tall ceiling above, with bookshelves lining the walls of the room stretching equally far. You take hesitant steps forward on the gentle velvet carpet below. A brief look around reveals that this room has no exits. Presumably, the God of Magic and Knowledge is using this room to talk to you.

GOMAK: ...Players, I have to tell you something important.

GOMAK: If you hadn't come along when you did, I may well have died not much later.

GOMAK: Even now, I'm not sure I'm completely safe. You see... recently, all the gods have been dying.

GOMAK: A vast number of lesser gods are already dead - over half of them. The god of air, the god of growth, the goddess of love, the god of cake... and those were just some of the ones I knew personally.

GOMAK: I believe the villain you fight - the godmodder - is behind most of these deaths. I don't know his motivations for messing with the gods that govern everything - but he's doing it nonetheless.

GOMAK: I have a personal stake in stopping the godmodder. For that reason, I shall grant you three boons: The original request Pionoplayer and Spicy_Serious came here for (please detail it for me)...

GOMAK: AND one Knowledge Ability plus one Magic Ability. These abilities are consumable powers that can be used once to help the team. You'll need multiple people to vote for their usage before they can be used.

KNOWLEDGE ABILITIES:
(Note: Each of these can be used twice)
Celestial Guidance: Shows you the way forward
In your journey, you deal with a lot of events put in place by the godmodder, and some of them can be confusing. Cake races, giant falling walls, meteors... If you ever feel like you've come up against something you can't solve, you can call upon this ability, and I will use my knowledge to give you the "next step", a special way to beat an event, or some tactical advice.
Enemy Examination: Display an enemy's full stats and weaknesses
If you find an enemy that seems like a "puzzle boss", or their stats are enigmatic and hard to read, then I can reveal to you any weaknesses they have, as well as give full descriptions of their abilities/specials, should they be a mystery. Unfortunately, Critical Soul Weaknesses are enshrouded even from me.

MAGIC ABILITIES:
(Note: Each of these can be used once)
Timestop: Gives Players an extra turn
I will use you my magical abilities to "pause time" for an extended period for everyone but you - this even includes the godmodder! This essentially gives you, the Players, an extra turn to use, as nothing on the battlefield, friend or foe, will move for a turn.
Magical Obliteration: Hit one enemy for massive damage
I send a burst of pure magical energy straight towards an enemy of your choice - probably a boss. In addition to doing a massive amount of damage, it will also inflict them with a large amount of status effects.
Healwreath: Fully heals all allied forces
I send my magic out to all [AG] forces, as well as anyone directly allied with the AGs - this unfortunately means this doesn't extend to [N] forces. My magic will heal all of them back to full health as well as curing them of any negative status effects.

GOMAK: Now! Vote together, and choose one of the two knowledge abilities plus one of the three magic abilities.

(OOC NOTE: Only Players inside the sidequest will have their ability votes count. However, other Players can still make suggestions as to which of the other abilities they prefer. Also, Pionoplayer and Spicy_Serious, you should probably tell the God of Magic and Knowledge why you're here right about now.)

Suggestions: ask if he can give fred sufficient knowledge of the godmodders appearance to playeriffy, and if it would be ok if you made more spells for the ring to give yourselves better odds of beating the godmodder.

I vote for the United States of America Smash so that we can get Fred out of his cage without needing to waste Godmodder actions, celestial guidance, and magical obliteration.

Piono looks up at the god of magic.
"I need help with my own magic.
When we first started fighting the godmodder within his soul orb, I retained... basically all of my artifacts and some form of my powers from my living days. And although I didn't retain my memories of how to properly utilize it at first, that was remedied when we defeated the Darkshard.
It was shortly thereafter that I realized something rather... disconcerting. Almost none of my magical powers seem to work the way they're supposed to now that I'm a Player. While I do recognize that the invulnerability it grants is probably useful at times, it's come with a slew of other problems, only bolstered by the fact that I don't seem to be capable of consciously utilizing my player powers.
For a few examples, my life power control used to give me a regenerative factor that allowed me to go toe to toe with mighty titans, I used to be able to manipulate space and time with relative ease, and, well, I started out with creative powers that though not rivaling those of players, were still nothing to sneeze out.
Those powers that I have been able to reaccess remain greatly weakened.
I don't know if you have the power to restore everything I had at my fingertips once upon a time, but if you have any clues as to how I could begin to restore my old powers, it would be greatly appreciated.
"

I fall to my knees, heavily drained from destroying the wall. Gasping, I fall on my back, beginning to recharge my tCP from 0.

tCP: 0 + 3

I remain quiet, letting Pionoplayer take the lead. We came her for him after all, I'm merely the means to an end.

I take the time to mull over what the GOMAK has said...I knew the Godmodder had the gumption to put the god of dreams under his thumb, but to think he's taking on the gods...

He has moxie, more than most of the groups I've worked with had, I'll give the power hungry bastard that much. And if I had to bet power is just what he's set to gain for their deaths, in some form or another.

After Pionoplayer speaks I let my vote be heard. "I vote for United States of America Smash to be put in the Ring. Honestly, I'm not sure what else would be better...Auto Snipe might be good if another Army Entity shows up. But Smash could be immediately helpful."

"Anyway, I vote for Celestial Guidenxe and Time Stop, preparation is king. And I don't see how pure damage and Status Effects can outweigh the sheer utility of having a whole extra Turn to ourselves to do...whatever we need."

OOC: Geez, I think this is the first time I actually talk in character more than just type in my standard white text.

"... well, so much for those three actions..."

"God Of Magic and Knowledge, thanks for your help. We, as the AG Faction, appreciate it."
I turn and face the team that got us this far. "Guys, I vote we use the ring for the USA Smash. Like Piono says, it would be incredibly useful for freeing not only Fred, but any other one of our entities captured by the PG side."

As for the knowledge and magic abilities, I'll vote for Celestial Guidance and Magical Obliteration. These seem the most useful.

Facing the GOMAK, I look up at him.
"I have a more minor request of my own, if you would accept it. Could I perhaps keep my MP bar and Spellbook from this realm? Being honest, I tend torwards that kind of role in pretty much everything, and feel it would be more useful fighting the godmodder than just... well, discarded as a part of this side quest."

I look up in contemplation. Its been a while since I had any peace to think and reflect after all.

What am I doing here? why couldn't I just stay away from it all?

I churn in my thoughts, still looking rather forlorn from an event that occurred off-screen. The only sign of me paying attention to the current situation is the note floating with my votes and questions as I continue to think.

Note:
  • Can he have the entities we summon come with us? The Tech God Copy will be a good boon should we keep it alive. That and how would the Banner of Light interact in the Hexagonafield?
  • Celestial Guidance and Time Stop has my vote. We can make up the damage through more actions.
  • I would like to vote for Keep The Peace, If everything looks bleak and we have lost in the entity war, this can be our last resort.

(1x) i call upon the power of the DOUBLE BOOST and grant it to the AG Scouts
(1x) I prepare for a fight and buff myself up just in case
Meditation is key to Harmony 8CP>9CP

The Chief Engineer runs up to me. General! We're getting very odd readings from.... well, everything really. It's very worrying!

(sigh) They say that Godmodders always end up horribly mangling the fabric of reality at some point before their eventual defeat. It looks like this may be it! There's nothing we can do really, these "glitches" are horribly unpredictable. Just do your best to be prepared for very unusual things to happen.

I myself can't really think of what needs to be done, or at least done RIGHT NOW. Just to be sure I add 2 more attack shields to the LIVE Space Station, and charge 1 CP myself.

"Timestop seems the best" I say as I slowly drag away the snake corpse in the background(bee field temporaraly off)

(How do turns work between missions?)

Free Action: Hey James, what assets can the Corporation utilize against the Glitch? I suspect a very high chance of a Glitch-type entity occuring, and last I checked, you can't do business if a glitch is destroying reality.

Action 1: So there's about an 80% chance that the Glitch is about to trigger. I construct and deploy a Single-Use Scanner Cannon. Its orders are to analyze whatever boss arrives next turn as soon as possible.
Single-Use Scanner Cannon [Anti-WhateverTheBoss'sAlignmentIs]: 25000/25000 HP, Scan!Attack.
*Attack scans the target, analyzing its strengths, weaknesses, and special abilities. Attack also causes this unit to destroy itself.
*Equipped with Entity Shock Resistance, allowing it to ignore effects that cause normal entities to not be able to activate (such as terror, fear, or overly long unskippable cutscenes).

Action 2: I put Junkrat's Steel Trap right where the boss enters, causing the boss to get trapped and inconvenienced during its arrival cutscene. As Junkrat's Steel Trap can catch floating enemies and prevent both Reaper's escape through wraith form and Tracer from using literal time travel to escape, it should have enough overpowered hax to trap the boss, even if it is a Glitch.

Action 3: Wait. Has anyone tried actually bashing the cage to bits? Let's do that. I hit the cage with a devastating barrage of punches. For a normal human, that would be a bad idea, but I have two things going for me. First off, I have about as much strength and durability as Thor, so I can probably smash right through it. But even if I can't, I can also utilize Resonating Strikes, a devastating technique that causes my attack power to exponentially increase the longer I attack a single target, eventually getting to the level of potentially being able to shatter a planet's crust. If the Godmodder tries to interfere, I grab him instead, activate a half-dozen special abilities that prevent enemies from escaping grabs, and pummel him with Resonating Strikes until he stops moving completely.

Also, I'm backing him up, both by putting immovable rods around the cage so that knockback doesn't throw it around, and also preparing to grab Yorehammer the instant it becomes exposed and possible to grab.

You aren't in the sidequest, so the question is moot.
About the voting or the actionless corpse theft? Because I think the corpse theft is fine since it's already pretty much over and it's absince won't affect anything. And since I'm already there I might as well make my suggestion IC but I know it doesn't count as a vote.

But seriously timestop has huge possibilities the other two don't match and the other two could be done with player abilities albeit with difficulty.

A chill ran up my spine, a sense of doom and horror, "Wh-Whoa, What the hell was t-that?" I first thought of it as a natural occurrence, then quickly decided to botch that Idea. But before that, I quickly thought of my plan of attack against the wall.

Actions:
-1 CP
I thought of a causality defying gun that shoots at the wall in the past, before it fell to far, with a special bullet, a bullet that would destroy only the target and only that. It will convert everything in its 100 cm radius into another one of itself, with a vector facing away from the original bullet with the same constant speed of mach 2. The ability is shared with it duplicate's and the duplicate's duplicate and so on and so forth with a delay of 1 second. The bullets will scan its surroundings, if 1/2 of its radius is converted to the special bullet, the bullets would convert 1/32 of those bullets into ??????? thereby causing ?????? to the wall and hopefully destroying it.

With that done, I summoned a book-

*poof*

-that could research anything as long as its research-able, then used it to scan the phenomenon to kingdom come so that i can utilize it for my own goals.

I then converted the rest of my actions to CP

3 > 2 > 4

OOC: I wrote this while I was tired, is this ok?

I look around with a sleep addled mind, " W-whu?" Confused, I look around, casuality defying gun in hand and a book.

"wait... The wall was already destroyed? dang" I wondered wether or not some of the things I did were actually real or not, maybe shooting at the past helped a bit.....

GOMAK: Hmm... so you're saying that you had a lot of powers BEFORE you became a Player... and then you had Player powers as well, before you died.

GOMAK: But after you died, came to the HEXAGONAFIELD, and lost your memories... you couldn't use your powers at all.

GOMAK: ...Perhaps the loss of your initial powers could be explained by the loss of your main "normal" body. But not your Player powers. Or perhaps... your initial powers were your Player powers, all along? Without more specifics on your initial powers, I can't identify their source.

GOMAK: That said... think back. Back to the beginning, before anyone knew anything about Player powers. Here, let me show you...

You get a vision back to the very beginning of the game, when you weren't yet dead. The very start of the fight on the HEXAGONAFIELD. Orange, now disappeared, throwing rocks... captain.cat summoning a gun... Hybrid Unity summoning a friend... you notice that throughout, even though none of them seemed to know exactly what they were doing, they still managed it fine. They did what they wanted to do and barely tried. Meanwhile, you tried your very hardest, and usually passed out before you could do anything at all! Hmm... but how?

GOMAK: Do you see?

GOMAK: You try so hard, and yet get nowhere. Maybe... the solution for you... is to just... ease up a little!

GOMAK: Instead of concentrating like you're trying to do something impossible, just... do what you're trying to do. Do it without hesitation or fear. But... without trying too hard not to hesitate or show for, or... well, you get what I mean!

GOMAK: Let go. Stop worrying so much! Relax, and do what you have to do.

GOMAK: That is the best advice I can give you.

+1 vote for Celestial guidance/Magical obliteration, as well as United States of America Smash!

I vote for Magical Obliteration, and Celestial Guidance. I'll hold off on voting for the ring.

+1 more vote for each!

GOMAK: No, thank you! You've saved my life. This is the least I can do.

GOMAK: Unfortunately, the spellbooks are useless, outside of my realm. That being said...

GOMAK: I suppose I can imbue you with a bit of magical energy, so you can keep your mana bar. I'm not sure what you're going to use it for, but maybe you can find something.

Another vote for those three things!

I look up in contemplation. Its been a while since I had any peace to think and reflect after all.

What am I doing here? why couldn't I just stay away from it all?

Votes added.

GOMAK: I would like the Tech God Copy and your knights to remain here and defend my realm. Not to worry - I will ensure the heroes are treated with honor and respect for their service.

GOMAK: The banner of light is sure to become a great leader and motivator of my forces!

Would it be possible for someone IE me to run off with the godsnakecorpse

Not really. Not only is everyone in the sidequest somewhere totally different, but you yourself aren't in the sidequest at all! That said... maybe you could use your Player powers to summon it to where you are?

"Timestop seems the best" I say as I slowly drag away the snake corpse in the background(bee field temporaraly off)

(How do turns work between missions?)

Essentially, people on a sidequest are considered separate from the main HEXAGONAFIELD battle, and their turns refill every sidequest update, instead of every main update. I try to maintain a 2:1 ratio of sidequest/main updates because sidequest updates are easier, and I don't want sidequests to drag on too long.

Moniker what would happen if Woobydoobydoo got the infinileaf clover taking into acount his actions are compleatly random ?

Well, he could adjust his luck rolls accordingly... But the Infinileaf clovers only affects luck-based rolls that reality (I.E. me) makes, not rolls Players make, unless they let them...

--------

Voting complete! After everything, the winners are clear: For powers, you have obtained Celestial Guidance and Magical Obliteration. These powers will show up in the Player list next main update, and can be used once a fair handful of Players agree now's a good time to call upon them. Once they're out, they're gone, so don't spend them all in one place! As for the ring, you now have United States of America Smash - since it's not quite so powerful, it has three uses! The ring can be used with only 3 players agreeing on its usage (assuming theres no objections) since it's less powerful. This ring also will show up in the Player Inventory.

Everyone says their goodbyes to the God of Magic and Knowledge. Finally, a portal opens - it's time to leave, and head back to your main quest. Everyone steps through, and waves goodbye to the knights and banner-bearer who assisted you. With luck, they will have good lives here - better than the HEXAGONAFIELD may have offered them.

SIDEQUEST COMPLETE!
REWARDS:
Magical Obliteration(One use)
Celestial Guidance(two uses)
United States of America Smash(three uses)

-----------

You arrive back on the HEXAGONAFIELD, devoid of actions (you have to wait until the next main update to post). It seems that the situation here is about to get a little crazy. Your allies are going to need you, more likely than not.

OOC: Main update coming tomorrow or the day after.

Seeing the battlefield laid out in front of me as I teleport back in, I run over to the AG Unit Stasis Area, and quickly undo the systems that kept my Relic safe this whole time. Seems like we'll need it...

Muttering a quick thanks to the GOMAK for letting me keep the mana bar, I quickly activate the relic.

Fire - Flamethrower
Launches a beam of fire at an enemy for moderate damage. May burn them if susceptible.

Fire Unleash - Inferno

A ray of firey death strikes the enemy it's aimed at for high damage, burning the enemy in the process.

Water - Soothing Waters
Gives an ally of choice about a 10th of it's HP back, capping at 20K health restored a turn to prevent OPness.

Water Unleash - Torrent
The Relic lets out a minor flood, healing all AG entities and damaging all PG ones for minor amounts.

Air - Wind Slash
Attacks one enemy for mild damage, BUT ignores any minor attack shield, block, or dodge because it goes at the speed of... well, lightning.

Air - Thunderstorm
A bolt of lightning strikes the enemy down for moderate damage, piercing any form of defense the target may have.

Earth - Tremor
Deals mild damage to a max of three entities within a short range.

Earth - Earthquake
Works like the Pokémon move. Deals moderate damage to any ground troop within the area, even ones that are AG.

Sorry, but Auras are currently locked due to a lack of CP. If I gain 10 CP, I'll get them up and running.

Well, that's that up and running.

"So, uh... James? I'd like to redeem my 10CP introductory package here soon, simply to finally unlock the aura system. I really need to get that up and running... been like... what? 20ish main updates?"
