Defeat The Godmodder

Current CP: 4

Eyowe: ...of all the myriad possible mysterious energies I could end up dealing with, why did it have to be this exact one, the one type of energy I didn't get any chance to study on?
Eyowe: Welp. Nothing to do but to try and control this situation.

Eyowe crafts a mechanical construct in the shape of a human body. This construct only has two features built into it: a port made for the purpose of holding the "secret feature" chip and a self-destruct mechanic that activates when a specific statement is verbally uttered. When the self-destruct mechanic is activated, it sends a near-unending amounts of shock to the construct that causes it and anything else attached to it to crumble into dust. In addition, this mechanic detects any attempts made to tamper with it, regardless of intensity. Upon detecting such an attempt, it will immediately activate itself.

Once he's done building the construct, Eyowe moves on to the "secret feature" chip, utilities in hand. He detaches it from the Warp Jammer with a considerable amount of accuracy and care as to not destroy nor alter the features of both it and the Warp Jammer. Upon detaching the chip, Eyowe moves back to the construct and inserts the chip into the port.

Eyowe moves the construct away from potential collateral damage and waits for the "secret feature" chip to activate inside it and do whatever it's designed to do. Eyowe keeps the self-destruct mechanic and the password statement in mind, as it's his fail-safe for if the chip's effect is both lasting and a nuisance to us. The moment the chip does any action that Eyowe would see as against the [AG] forces, Eyowe will utter the password statement.

(to Moniker: Would this count as a focused action or is it just 3 actions without any boons from focused?)
(also to Moniker: If, for any reason whatsoever, you want me to give you the password statement for the self-destruct mechanic before the update, I guess dm me and I'll reply with the code? I mean, I'll still say it out loud when I activate the mechanic.)
_______________________________________________________________

While waiting for the chip to do its work, Eyowe takes notice of the Alice discourse and gives his input on it:

Eyowe: Hmm...
Eyowe: On the subject of her capabilities, well it's no question that hers is immense.
Eyowe: However, let me add to that.
Eyowe: As far as my understanding goes, we are in some manner of afterlife realm and you're all dead, correct?
Eyowe: And if, again, I understand it correctly, a friend of yours... Fred, was it? Yeah didn't he encounter the Godmodder in what I, and maybe even you, assume is the real world?
Eyowe: As we are taking on this Godmodder inside this HEXAGONAFIELD, that Godmodder outside is still roaming about.
Eyowe: I do not exactly know what happens after we kill the HEXAGONAFIELD Godmodder, but for now I'll assume that we'll have an encounter with the real world Godmodder after this.
Eyowe: Onto my point now. If we allow Alice to attain full Godmodder status from killing the HEXAGONAFIELD Godmodder, we could get her assistance in fighting the real world Godmodder.
Eyowe: Well, actually can a godmodder escape this realm or am I just overestimating their capabilities?
Eyowe: ....yes I have made plenty of assumptions in making my statement and some may even be wrong, but my statement there still stands.

Eyowe: Now, about this godmodder protege cycle issue.
Eyowe: Yes, we have reached this point due to every godmodder protege being alive as their teacher perishes.
Eyowe: But, and I'm still running on a lot of assumptions here, did any of the proteges rebel against their teacher as Alice is doing right now?
Eyowe: Letting Alice live may mean letting the godmodder cycle continue.
Eyowe: But we might be able to start something new here.
Eyowe: Perhaps we could start an era where "godmodder" does not mean war.

Eyowe: And now, onto the toughest issue here, and possibly my break-off point from supporting Alice:
Eyowe: Her commitment to doing good.
Eyowe: I don't have much to say on this topic right now, except this to you, Alice...

Alice: Making the world better.

Alice: Everything out in the world is so inefficient, and there's so much wrong... with the godmodding powers, fixing everything will be easy... I can lead the Earth into a new age, of-
Eyowe: Well, you were cut off here.
Eyowe: If you don't mind, please, and truthfully, finish that thought.

Eyowe: Also, I would appreciate non-violence in this debate.

Eyowe burns all of his CP and crafts a mechanical riot squad and sends them to where the discourse is happening with the clear intent of upholding peace there. Eyowe also gives the squad leader the Eyowean Greatsword to improve their performance. The riot squad would block any attack attempts made by either side.

Eyowe also signs his name on the Debate contract.

Lastly, Eyowe looks back towards Alice again.

Eyowe: And Alice, I know this debate's very attention-catching to you but uhh...
Eyowe: Don't forget to Yoreshield the Godmodder.
Eyowe: Don't want him sneaking in an attack now, do we?

_______________________________________________________________

As Eyowe goes back to watching his construct, he utters something:

Eyowe: dwojf329♀sbde

Some of his fellow Players recognize what that code means...
[...]for Players or someone with their powers, a full book containing a proper history of all players can be summoned. The spell code to receive it is "dwojf329♀sbde".

As the book is summoned where it can hopefully drop on a safe spot, Eyowe opens it and skims the book, looking to gain a couple of specific information from it: how many godmodders existed in total (or are at least listed in the book) and an average of a godmodder's lifespan. To accomplish finding the latter, Eyowe looks only for when a godmodder's name appears for the first time and the last group number where it appears for the last time.

If that's too tall of an order, then Eyowe will just flip to the current page and see how many battles our Godmodder has been in.

(If I'll require an action or two to do either of those, then just subtract the amount of CP I used for the mechanical riot squad and transfer those to here instead)

Eyowe: Am I actually dead or was I just booted to here because of... him?

I sigh deeply. "Altair is right. But... I'm so sorry Alice." If the vote works. I help with the kill by stabbing a holy sword through her chest, releasing her soul into the afterlife as painlessly as possible...

With that being said though... BACK TO THE CAULDRON OF SOLS!

tCP: 0+3 actions
One of the pionos blurs, sword snapping the knife out of Gold's hand and through the air, where it lands on the rock of the hexagonafield somewhere.

Piono looks around at the number of people aligning themselves to try and protect Alice, and heaves a sigh of relief, but he stands vigilant.
"Looks like you're gonna be alright Alice."

If the vote still passes to be pro-Alice, Piono turns around and helps Alice up to her feet with a helping hand, other twelve duplicates still standing guard in case the Godmodder or other players triy anything.
"Alright, Alice, we should get you someplace safe, so you can rest and recuperate, the Godmodder's not going to stop coming after you, and you're just about dead. It's time to go."

If I'm allowed to, I'mma go on a sidequest with Alice to act as a bodyguard. If not, oh well.

"We cannot afford a schism over this. If we devolve into infighting, the Godmodder wins. And if the Godmodder wins, we're stuck here, or worse.
"I say we solve this in a reasonable, civilized, scientific manner. The question we shall have a Debate over is thus: Is the sum of the amount of good Alice would do in all particular circumstances greater than the sum of the amount of bad she would do in all particular circumstances? Now let us take sides: I am neutral here. Evidence will be expected. There will be no memetics, except those used in the contract to force people to agree by the rules of the Debate. And certainly no mental manipulation. Anyone found fighting will be ostracized and ejected. Once the Debate is over, things may go back to normal."
I thus create the Debate contract, and pass it around for people to sign.

The debate is pretty much what's going on right now! A lot of people are chiming in.

I suggest we force alice into a binding agreement where, once the Godmodder is dead, she will listen to and consult with 5 or more players whenever doing anything she might possibly consider major outside and, if by vote of 80% of all known players at a given time, it is decided that she is evil or doing bad, then she must allow herself to die or, if a way is found, to remove her Godmodding powers . such a contract would also prevent her from killing any player that does not want to die, if at all avoidable, or trying to get her way around this contract.
This has the advantage of allowing us to keep the Godmodder yoreshielded, and keep doing things with her aid. it still lets us end the Godmodding cycle. the punishment for disobeying this contract, naturally, would be death. also, even if this option is rejected, I would still vote to let her act once more before death. allow her to repay her debt to me. she has the charge necessary, to create for me two things: an entity that doubles its health each round (starting at 1), and a powerful protection for said entity.
To the peacekeepers: I don't really want riflemen... if you can't apply the evolver's powers to anything, can I have some scientists or engineers maybe? I prefer the ability to build, since I'm not in combat much.
[2x] I summon The Blocks. most definitely not tended by the farmers, this entity will make a few stone blocks every turn. if it gets enough blocks, maybe it can become something more? you could probably make new stone blocks out of stones if you wanted to.

Altair: A contract?

Altair: Hold on. You want to stop a godmodder. By making them sign a piece of paper.

Altair: However magical the paper may be, there are a hundred things that can go wrong. If the contract is ever dissolved or made null - and believe me, I've seen it happen before - we're back to square one.

Altair: There will be no contract.

Yeah. I mean, Altair's got some pretty decent common sense yaknow?
I walk forward to where Altair is holding Alice.
She might definitley become a threat, however;
Spending 5 CP in a FOCUSED action I fire a railgun into Altair.
She might not. There's also the fact that I owe her father at least this much.

You look around at all the Players who are debating the matter without resorting to violence, and suddenly feel socially pressured to not attack anybody! Peer pressure is too hard to resist...

"So kill Alice on the hopes that it'll forever end the Godmodders or trust her that she'll be good and actually help the world. As if the Godmodder wasn't bad enough now us players are on the precipice, about to fight amongst ourselves." I state absentmindedly.

"Altair for such a motivated individual you have a terrible sense of timing. You set your 'kill Alice' plan into motion as the Godmodder gets two Legendary Weapons and still has a hefty amount of health left. Hardly the most convincing example of how well thought out this plan is."

Dragging my hand down my face I sigh as I listen to everyone's own opinions and thoughts on the matter. "How about," I propose, "we ask Alice what 'Making the world better' actually means. Prepare whatever tools are needed to get the truth out of her to learn how she would better the world rather than laying down our judgement like, well, a malevolent god would. Let's be intelligent about this rather than forming two separate mobs that'll fight each other over whether Alice lives or dies."

OOC: I vote for Stop Altair until we can at least hear Alice's side of things.

The other Players join in with you. Let Alice speak!

Altair: ...Very well.

Altair: Alice? What do you have to say for yourself?

Cloak: Alice, all that talk about a better world... what did it really mean?

Alice has mostly stopped struggling and removing the locks that hold her down, seeing that its mostly pointless. Everyone quiets down for a moment, and she speaks:

Alice: I... now that I think about it, I'm not sure.

Alice: I guess I thought it meant... killing the evil people, giving the world more resources, and rooting out corruption through any means necessary?

Alice: But... saying it aloud... after everything you've said...

Alice: Come to think of it, I've kind of acted like... a bit of a jerk...

Alice: ...I'm sorry... I panicked back there, I didn't mean to...!

Altair: We've heard enough of this.

Altair: Players, I know it's not easy. But this is our chance... this is the best chance anyone has ever had! Now, are you going to help me, or will I do it myself?

Looks like you only have a little time left to vote.

CURRENT VOTE TALLY:

Don't Stop Altair/Kill Alice: Eevee Shadow Bacon, General_Urist, Karpinsky, GoldHero101

Alice: I guess I thought it meant... killing the evil people, giving the world more resources, and rooting out corruption through any means necessary?

This is, like, the red flag to end all red flags, coming from someone with Godmodder Power.

Aside from that, "killing evil people"? Please Alice, define Evil. I want an essay detailing how to decide whether a person is evil or not on my desk -I use a free action to summon an ordinary wooden workdesk next to me- by this time tomorrow. Two thousand words minimum, and inclusion of an explanation is to why being evil is worthy of punishment by death, as well as a guide to avoiding false positives, is MANDATORY. But seriously, you do not casually claim your plan is to 'remove evil'. Using the concept of evil at all puts you at severe risk of adopting a damagingly black and white worldview and going full-on Knight Templar! If you want me to accept a goal as nebulous as 'killing the evil people', you will have to EARN that privilege!

EDIT: Hey JOEbobobob back when you were with this Morpheus guy, he had this contract with the Godmodder that stipulated the Godmodder would protect him or something, right? Do you know what sort if any provisions were in the contract to prevent the Godmodder from casually breaking it?

'Well Seems like Altair and Ash have little wish to hear Alice out seeing she barely got a chance to speak before Altair started calling for her death. I was hoping to avoid a fight but it looks like there is little room for diplomacy in this matter.' I think to myself as I give a sad look to the others but regardless still ready my Lightening Spear and prepare to stop Altair and Ash from killing Alice.

'Ugh, I'm pretty sure Cera is going to want my head for whatever happens next when I get around to reporting it.'
I think bleakly to myself. While keeping Altair and the others who wish to kill Alice in my view I speak to Alice. "Alice, Whatever happens. I would like you to prove yourself worthy of the trust that Xerath, Me, Piano, Eternalstruggle and the others have placed in you, Please don't prove Altair right." With that I focus all my attention back onto stopping Altair and the others from killing Alice.

(Voting to Save Alice.)

I'll recycle one of my old ideas during the battle between the Lightshard and the Darkshard I wasn't able to use.

Focus X3 + 5 CP

I gift Alice a 4 use "Teleport Dodge" allowing the Alice to teleport out of the way of any attack attacked at her. This also dodges Yorehammer and ignores Karpinsky's defense-piercing CP, thanks to Godmodder's rules about dodging not counting as defenses. The location the user teleports to is specified by Alice. I better not have to say "WHY DIDN'T YOU DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDGGEEEEEE!!!!

All CP gifts for this is requested, and additional CP is dedicated to making the "Teleport Dodge" be able to be used more.

Also, if fighting starts, I use the memestone I've been saving for like, forever. Their orders is to protect Alice. If I need a action to do this I take one from the Teleport Dodge action.

OOC: Stop Altair/Save Alice

Also, dumping CP to "Protect Alice" isn't gonna work. Player powers operate on specifying what you want done.

I point out to altair that the God of Dreams had some form of contract with the Godmodder- why not do something similar? it must have been a fairly secure one, however it was made, or neither side would trust it. maybe, aside from the standard magical enforcement, have the contract stockpile power to grant to those who oppose alice in the event of being broken, or something. maybe include a requirement for alice to occasionally put her own power towards it. there are A Lot of paths other then kill or not kill... though admittedly most of them would involve Alice not being killed immediately, since otherwise oh Alice is dead nothing to do about them now.

Hey, uh, soldiers? Peacekeepers? Mates? Could you maybe take me to your leader?

(semi-OOC: sigh. Looks like for the time being we're getting railroaded into chosing between "Alice goes, no strings attached whatsoever" and "kill alice right now". Hopefully we'll get more chances to evaluate her morals down the road. I'll be watching her.)

(Totally OOC: I will admit that I see Alice getting loosed as a win/win situation. If she turns out good, yay! If she doesn't, well, then we've got a plot hook for a potential sequel.)

I decide to make a bracelet that will make anyone who touches it tell the truth, and put it on Alice using 2 actions or cp. "Hopefully if you see that Alice is telling the truth then you won't be so hasty! At the very least, postpone this until the Godmodder is nearly dead if you can't decide!"

Altair, you can't kill him. If you fail, she goes down to 1 HP, and then the Godmodder does something to her that's worse than leaving her alive. I doubt you're competent enough to do that.

I shoot a victorious smirk towards Rotaz who, his avian eyes displaying his surprise and irritation, hands me a twenty dollar bill with one of his extending mechanical limbs. Pocketing the bet money I redirect my focus back onto the events at hand, time to rejoin the debate.

"Alice Alice Alice." I dramatically shake my head. "I mean no offence but the classic 'any means necessary' is perhaps one of the most common causes of helping but not really helping. All it means is that in your effort to achieve a better world you'll do whatever it takes to get a better world as you see it and that story of going too far for good is a cliche at this point."

"However I'll admit the potential benefits of a Godmodder who is trying to be good seems to be a better option than killing Alice here and now. Not only do I doubt that ending the Godmodders would be this easy but right now the Godmodder is in a pretty concerning position." I gesture towards the Godmodder. "With two Legendary Weapons in his hands I don't feel we can afford to kill Alice much less fight amongst ourselves. Perhaps I'm wrong, too willingly to trust people or I just don't understand the situation like you Altair but currently I feel our best option is to take a chance on Alice."

"I cannot allow someone to die for a Crime they have not committed, the Future is never Certain, ending a Life is However very much Permanent. In this interest....."

I head over and continue charging (+3 CP)

"I cannot allow anyone to kill Alice"

I vote to not kill Alice and tell everyone to use actions as well

I charge 3 cp

I let out a sigh, the majority is with Alice, for now at least.

"Just to make sure things are clear, I still stand with Alice." I give her a reassuring thumbs up. "But to be fair, you'd only really get rid of me if you had said something really messed up"

"I mean, what you had originally planned sounds classically Evil, but I'm not exactly a paragon of good." I gesture to the symbols on my Strange Hat. "Me complaining about it would be pretty hypocritical, when in the same breath I could praise the Dark Masters." I chuckle.

My loyalties spoken I humm to myself, seems the others are taking the opportunity to Act, should I? I glance at the globs of Darkfire/lava...we'll call it Darklava for now...aren't those my Focus for this Turn? Or have my Actions even refreshed?

I shrug, if we have to brute-force this it'll be helpful, might as well make it official. Hopefully with they'll back down peacefully considering numbers aren't on their side.

FOCUS...if Actions are the thing to do right now: Actions spent creating the Darklava mentioned in my first post to defend Alice.

I take a deep breath, and let out a sigh.

"Alright, they've convinced me. I'll trust you for now Alice. One wrong move, and I'll try to kill you peacefully."

I have no actions left. Can't do anything this post other than speak.

Storypost VIII
I give all my CP to Altair so that he can get past any defenses others may attempt to put around Alice.

Altair rejects your CP. He only needs one attack, and against godmodders, CP won't help.

Alice first looks at you as you start speaking to her, then looks down. She can't meet your eyes.

I'll recycle one of my old ideas during the battle between the Lightshard and the Darkshard I wasn't able to use.

Also, dumping CP to "Protect Alice" isn't gonna work. Player powers operate on specifying what you want done.

Altair's already placed several anti-teleport locks, and Ash has mired her lower body in anti-dodge molasses! Your actions are not spent.

Altair: JOEbob. Do you remember how large that contract was?

You do. Though you read the summary, the whole contract was the size of a dictionary.

Altair: That's the amount of writing you need to make a contract with a godmodder that has any degree of safety.

Altair: That takes time. We don't have that. The godmodder will soon be free from Yoreshield, and then he'll attack us.

Altair: If we put Yoreshield back up around him, then something else will come along and hurt Alice. He's not going to sit idly in Yoreshield while we kill him, whatever Alice thinks.

You approach Alice with the truth bracelet, and put it on. Your actions are not spent.

Altair: Whether or not Alice is lying isn't the issue. Honest is frankly one of the few good traits about her.

Altair: Tell me, Alice. If we leave you alive, will you turn into a murderous tyrant one day?

Alice: ...That's... a ridiculous question...

Altair: See? The bracelet of truth is not useful to us here.

Altair, you can't kill him. If you fail, she goes down to 1 HP, and then the Godmodder does something to her that's worse than leaving her alive. I doubt you're competent enough to do that.

Altair: Not competent enough?

Altair: I've been around much longer than you. Plenty of you have dealt more than 1 damage at a time to the godmodder, and Alice is much weaker.

Altair: Don't worry. It will be quick.

---------

The murmuring has died down, and a consensus is reached. Not everyone is in agreement, but the general feeling is that Alice will NOT die today!

Cloak: Altair! We demand you release Alice!

Cloak: We can't kill her for things she may never do. And she can still be useful to us in this war!

Altair: ...No.

Everything is a blur. Altair's entire body glows the light blue color of his speech and he dashes towards Alice. Ash is only a split second behind. Immediately, captain.cat, RedRover, and several other Players leap in between Altair/Ash and Alice, and teleport Altair and Ash into a cage some distance away. Altair saws apart the cage bars with an indestructium power saw and gets out, but sees all of you standing around Alice, and realizes its hopeless.

A few other Players were considering helping attack Alice, but this much dissent is already bad. If this turned into a tussle between all the Players...

After a few moments of standoff, the smaller group in favor of killing Alice backs off.

Altair: Players... you disappoint me.

Altair: One day, Alice will become the tyrant that all godmodders are doomed to become.

Altair: And then, I will have to work against her, as I work against the godmodder today.

Altair: One day, I'll make this end. Not today, but one day! History will see me as the hero and you as the fools.

Altair: ...In the meantime, I can't work with you any longer. Idealism like that is doomed to lose and die.

Altair turns to Ash...

Altair: ...Are you coming with me?

Ash: ...No. I have to return to Cera and Jamie. They need to know what happened here. Plus... I'm still dead, remember?

Altair: ...Very well. Good luck, Ash.

With that, Altair steps out, and Ash dashes off into the distance of the HEXAGONAFIELD. With them gone, it finally starts to sink in what just happened. Could Alice really have died there?

...What happens now?

Alice shrugs off the last of her restrictions and speaks up.

Alice: ...I'm not sure about anything anymore.

Alice: When I first became a godmodder, the godmodder sent me out to retrieve Yoreshield. On my way through the dungeon protecting it, I met Altair.

Alice: He told me he could help me, that he could be my guide. That we could be a team. And I trusted him.

Alice: I would never have trusted him if he had told me he was playing... the long game.

Alice: ...I guess I know why he never lost Neutraladder rank now.

Alice: Players... thank you for... not killing me, I guess.

Alice: But... several of you really did want me dead...

Alice: ...

Alice: ...Altair was right about one thing.

Alice: Yoreshield needs to be taken somewhere safer. And staying here, with me at such low HP, is just too risky.

Alice: ...I can't stay here any longer. I promise - the godmodder won't get Yoreshield as long as I have it.

Alice tosses Starcalibur onto the ground. A random Player picks it up... it's... Cephalos Jr! He gets Starcalibur!

Alice: I don't think I can hold onto it much longer. The godmodder has significantly more life force (and souls fueling it) than I do. I can feel it draining at me... I don't think I can hold more than one Legendary weapon right now.

Alice: ...With all that said...

Alice: Good luck out there. Get the godmodder for me!

Alice doesn't look entirely sure about leaving. Still, you see a portal open in the air above you - through it, you catch another rare glimpse of the real sun, Earth's sun. Alice jumps up and flies straight through, and the portal closes behind her.

All three of them, as well as the Yoreshield, are gone now. You turn to Cloak.

Cloak: ...I'm staying.

With that settled, it's time to get back to your actual objective! Killing the godmodder!

You can only hope Alice will take this to heart.

--------

If you haven't already used your actions, you can now. Any actions used to help/stop Altair were not spent. There will be a normal amount of time until the next update.

"What the, no, you come back here you little-"

ES looked in extreme annoyance as Alice returned to reality.

"Ffffffffffffine. All forces attack the damn Units I guess..."

He charges up 3 CP.

I wave to Alice as she leaves, gotta have hope that she'll be better, that she'll take everything to heart...

Sighing I turn to the battlefield "Alright, that's enough sappiness from me to last a lifetime, time to get to..." Then I remember, the Godmodder is going to be free soon. And he has the fuck-mothering Mascythe.

"By the Dark Masters we're all fucked." I scramble to Act, maybe if I can just...

ACTION 1:A shield for you!

With a hurried *SNAP* an Attack Shield forms over the..Agro Scarecrow?

Well, Behold Your Sins simply states that an Entity must attempt to damage the Agro Scarecrow. Nothing was said about the damage actually taking effect, or that the Attack must actually hit the Entity. Simply that an Attack is tried against it.

I turn to the others. "You guys, the Agro Scarecrow can seriously fuck up PG's round of Attacks if we can make it soak up enough damage!"

Message given, I turn to the last remnants of the SR monstrosity.

ACTION 2: Supreme Firepower

Whenever you're fighting something, and you have the ability to summon whatever you want infinitely on a whim, the solution to most problems should become obvious.

Explosions, a fuck-ton of 'em.

With a wave of my hand a missile silo appears, along with a couple thousand identical siblings.

Pair of sunglasses smashed onto my face I give the firing order, and thousands of surface-to-air missiles clog the air. Streaking towards the Soul Reapers.

I lean back in a lawnchair and watch the firestorm of molten metal and shrapnel. After a couple minutes of ear-shattering explosions I turn to finish up my Actions, disappointment written on my face.

After a while of awe-inspiring firepower, the awe kinda just...dissipates, and shifts to boredom.

Sighing I add another CP, yeah the Godmodder could try to murder me. Buuut, fuck it. I have stuff I want to do dammit!

+1 CP
