I dig a pit in the ground, and a wooden waterwheel above it. Then a very short aquaduct that looks set to dump water over the top of the waterwheel. Lastly, I build a pair of Archimedean screw pumps leading from the pit up to the other end of the aqueduct, and link them to the waterwheel with an axel. Finally, I pour several buckets of water into the aquaduc. The water flows down turning the water wheel and powering the pumps, only to be raised back up to the aqueduct by said pumps to repeat a process..... creating a perpetual motion machine. NANI????
That's right, I play Dwarf Fortress. And I've just created a Dwarven Water Reactor using the power of !!DWARVEN PHYSICS!! (now you know where i got my name). Once the reactor is running at full power I attach a bunch of magnets to the waterwheel and set up some wire coils nearby, creating an electric generator. Said generator is hooked up to that laser we're all trying to charge.
It's a little larger than normal for a water reactor, and I built it out of cheap materials that probably won't last past this turn. But the laser also probably won't last past this turn so that's OK.
All entities under my command continue to shoot down Soul Reapers because fuck those annoying attack aircraft.
BTW Cephalos Jr. I'm not clear on how that reactor you're summoning works and probably neither is Moniker. A clarification would be useful, especially since right now every turn counts!
I jump on onto the SoulRazer and go to town on the Fleet Summoner with a variety of industrial tools until it is so mangled it is barely capable of transmitting it's signals, reducing the amount of Soul Reapers it can summon
Better idea: for now: I give the LIVE Space Station three attack shields to temporarily boost its survivability.
EDIT: free (hopefully) action: I notice that at 0.01 progress per turn per engineer (for a required total of 10 000 Engineer-Turns. An 'Engineer-Turn' is the amount of work one engineer will do in a single turn, it should be a convenient unit) the fleet beacon will take a long time to fix. Therefore, I contact the LIVE Space Station's tech support guy and ask them to provide a full list what cost in Engineer-Turns would be for rebuilding each of the many weapon types the Station has lost to enemy attacks up to this point. I also ask them if it is possible to for the engineers to construct more cloning pods under their own power, and if it's possible what the Engineer-Turn cost is to increase the growth rate by 1 engineer/turn.
(Daskter gave me the idea for the last bit. I imagine it would be pretty expensive though, so that quadratic growth doesn't become OP.)
