Defeat The Godmodder

prison break

action I reach into my pocket and check if I still have my alysiometer

Leaning against the wall of my cell I listen to the others speak as I consider giving EternalStruggle a kick in the ass after having now been reminded of how the Godmodder got hold of the Starcalibur. But I decide against it because now is not the time. Maybe after we kill the Godmodder I'll do that.

'Option 1 seems to be better then playing in some game the warden has for us which will be stacked completely against us. Probably would just screw us over anyway if we somehow won.' I think to myself as I look over the cell we are in and attempt to spot some weakness in the cell that we could exploit to help us escape.

Then I hear the couple of plans everyone has come up with so far. 'Hmm, I always like building defenses. I'll be happy to work on this. At least it's something to do until we can think of a way out of here.'

Speaking into the communication device that connected me to the other players I say. "Well you got my vote for option 1"

Normal Action:
Then I close my eyes and focus on making a mind dungeon for myself. 'Well due to not having much power I'll like need to craft this in sections until it a dungeon worthy of Gary Gygax, Hmm so what to make first. Well lets start off my making a maze.'
First I make fairly standard box. followed by dropping the object in the center. Then I start adding in the walls. A few dozen dead ends, followed by a couple of false walls leading into hallways that don't lead anywhere, some brightly lit others not lit at all, A couple of bathrooms for the minions, a restaurant for the maintenance crew hidden behind a false wall and a control room to watch the invaders from and deploy traps from which is located in the opposite direction of the object in the center.

'Alright I think that is enough making of the maze for right now. Lets start on some of the traps.' First I place roller mines in different sections of the maze. Basically will detect if a entity has entered within 40 feet of it before then rolling towards them and exploding on contact. Next a couple of flamethrower cage traps which will drop down and trap the invader followed by flamethrowers popping out of the wall and burning the invader trapped inside the cage. 'Now lets add a- oh to much power required for that. Nevermind.' I think a little annoyed that I ran out of power for the Ceiling mines at this time. 'Well I can add them in next. Lets see if the maze is enough for tonight.'

Free action:
As I wait to see what everyone else is doing I start to quickly hum to myself the Mary Ellen Carter. It's a good song, A hopeful song, No matter how bleak things may look one can still work through it and come out stronger for it.

Prison Break.

But don't count my vote because I'm pretty fed up with the way things have been going.

But if I do rejoin this event and I intend to grab as many shadows as possible.

"Well said, Even if poorly phrased, I thought we only swapped at periods you..."
More arguing, along with fighting himself. His sanity appears to be tenuous at best. Hopefully this is because of insane levels of min maxing, instead of a really dumb plan. (Spoilers, it's the second)

Mandatory Sidequest START
I vote for the Prison Break.

I look around for flammable substances in the cell.

Hmm... Well, there's the hand sanitizer, and the thatch. The benches are also made of wood.

Hmph. Option 1.
I check up on Arsenical. What exactly is his status? Does he seem like a puppet without strings? Does he not move at all? Do his eyes react to light? If he is totally unresponsive, I hoist him onto my back, preparing for whatever action is chosen by the group.

Since you're in the same room as Arsenical, checking him is easy.

The "puppet without strings" description fits him best. He's looking downwards, no longer vibrant and full of life as he once was. You prep to put him in your inventory, but then have an idea. You ask him to take a few steps forward - and he does. It looks like he'll at least attempt to preserve his own life/keep up with the group, plus follow simple commands.

Oh boy. Here we go.

———————
A teen wakes up from this dream of a black void.
What was his name, again?

POOPLORD EGGNOSE

He rejects the name, instead choosing one for himself -

"Kyle Collins."

———————

Realizing he's not yet a player - heck, his Player Power got reduced to 0, Kyle begins to look around. Spotting Bill Nye and Algot in other corners of the room, he stands up - still in his Star Wars tee from his mortal action earlier, as well as some jeans and blue sneakers - and stretches. The only thing really different about him is a small pendant of two dragons around his neck, holding together an artifact of some sort in the middle.

"... I'm here. He actually killed me..."

"Either way. Now is not the time to contemplate my mortality."
Kyle shakes off the feeling of insufferable doom that he was just dealing with. He turns to the other two... players? Whatever we are, he turns to the others in the room.

"Hi... I'm Kyle. You guys may know me as the User, or Kyleruler - my avatar. We need some way to get outta here... um, do you two have any ideas?"

[OOC - I chose that username when I was much younger. Don't ask why I still use it - I don't know why I do either.]

Kyle personally votes for Route A, the prison break. He doesn't want to die in some tournament, and feels like even if they did catch us, the group would just be thrown in the tournament as low seats anyways.

Action 1 -
Kyle pulls up his menu, straight from an RPG. It seems his and The Operator's universe and modus of operandi are actually pretty similar. Using this menu, he eventually navigates to a submenu -

You - LVL 1
HP - [20/20]
MP - [1/1]

He remarks out loud, "My stats are actually terrible right now. Compared to the normal HEXAGONAFIELD, I'm... pretty sucky. The MP stat wasn't there before, though. Huh."

He quickly navigates over to his items. The only thing there? HOPE. Touching it, it a small yellow-white orb whizzes off to another cell, to be added to another player's things...

Free Action -

Also, Kyle states that he has a small bit of leftover energy from the magical explosion that was the Spellblade. Probably not enough to do anything with, but... hey. Residue counts in this situation.

You grant a small, pathetic fragment of hope.

A bit of residual energy...

So, your plan is to lock me in a prison, and try to drain my mind with mental exertion? I'll have you know that I'm a master of escaping prisons, and have near-infinite mental defense! That's not going to happen!

They did manage to drain all of our collective powers though. I think they're strong enough to actually do it.

That hasn't stopped me before.

Action: Wait a minute, we don't have to share Player Powers anymore, because we don't have any! Since "I" am (or was) actually five people working together under one set of Player actions, we should now be able to each take action independently. So, let's observe our surroundings.

First, I work on fortifying mental defense. The MIND drain effect seems to be fairly powerful if it's aimed at draining the notoriously free-willed players, but I've been able to reflect mental attacks powerful enough to knock a whole city unconscious. Maybe, if I could sleep and reflect the MIND drain, it could provide us with something useful. This might help someone with a HOPE buff of some sort.

(the above action is the highest priority to execute).

I'm investigating the lanterns. I don't think I have any reserves of magic left for pyromancy (and I doubt taking a Long Rest will refill those reserves, at least not without great cost), but maybe I could harness the lanterns as an energy source?

I look for any guard patrols. The Godmodder wouldn't just leave Cybil all alone in an important prison, he'd go mad and release all the prisoners or go on strike or do something stupid after going insane from the isolation.

I investigate the benches. I'm strong (peak-human to lower superhuman without any psychic investment), I might be able to tear one off the wall and bash the cell door with it.

Lastly, I'm going to investigate the water bucket, and see what happens if I try to dump it out.

Free Action: You know, Cybil, I feel like your offer of "one question that I have to answer honestly" is meaningless. Last I checked, the Godmodder responds to cases where his agent must respond truthfully by mind-raping his own agent and suppressing their memories so that they answer with what they believe is the truth but isn't actually the truth. So, before we'll even consider fighting to the death or whatever for your entertainment, I want you to sign a compelling agreement (such that you will be magically compelled to follow it) to free us from this prison by any means necessary if you give an answer that, while true in your beliefs, can be factually proven as false. If you can't or won't do that, we won't play your game.

(Secret Free Action: I vote for the Prison Break)

Unfortunately, this event is no excuse to get 5 actions. I'll take the first one.

You attempt to focus, and fortify your mental defenses. This mostly involves a brief bit of meditation. You feel a little more ready.

I vote option 1. Something slow-paced would be nice. Also I played pokemon mystery dungeon, I'm a natural at this.

I look around. Some strong security here, but at least we're not immediately dead. Huh. I would've expected getting soul vored by the Godmodder to be a little deadlier. I check up on my fellows. Crusher is someone who can be relied on to try his hardest, though knowing him he will not react well to being depowered. and That Other Other Guy? He's good, though I don'r know much about him.

I take a loaf of hardtack off the plate, and another one appears in it's place. WHAT KIND O- I remember we're being recorded, and abruptly shut up. I cannot entirely hide my feelings of elation though. What king of idiot locks people up with not one but TWO infinite matter generators? This is very exploitable, I'm sure!

I don't know if we can do actions yet, so here's a half-joke one: I take off my pants and underpants, hoping that some great cosmic censor bureau will immediately materialize a new set on me. Because infinite fabric would he useful here.

You take off your clothes, but nothing happens. All that happens is that you end up standing naked, with Crusher and TOG staring at you.

You put your clothes back on. This cell has a lot of regenerating stuff, but you might need to do something more drastic to get free clothes.

I remember that winkin made a certain bond with a Disco Orb in this realm... I do hope he's fine.

Vote Option 1:

I grab the breads, and I soak them with Hand Sanitizer. I also grab the Oil Lantern above me. I am now armed with a Lighter and a couple makeshift molotov.

You equip a few lightsticks! That's the official, totally legitimate name you're giving to breadsticks that have hand sanitizer on them. You also equip the oil lantern, but there's only one of those per cell, so fair warning - you might need to share!

Option 1 Please.

Alright. Here is the plan everyone:

We have a few things: (by FlamingFlapJacks)

1. Inherent Powers (I have infinite gun and lead, Paradox is a dragon and I think has paradox, trope, and maybe action powers? If anyone else has powers tell me)
2. Bread and water
3. Clothes (trick censoring system for infinite cloth? Halfjoke)
4. Toilet
5. The tech from the devices Cybil uses to monitor us if we can get them
6. IC Moniker's aid? It is in his interest to see the Godmodder fall.... (UNLIKELY)
7. Disco-Chan, assuming we can ever do anything with that. Disco-chan is an entity we left behind in the Shadow Realm last time we were here.
8. Cybil Maybe
9. Hand Sanitizer
10. Oil Lantern
11. Toilet Paper (From Discord)
12. Thatch Floor.
Add ons: List of inherent powers
FlamingFlapjacks: Has Hope (maybe, will require others to give hope), can generate lead and guns
Paradox: Tropes, SOUL (UT) powers I think, Aspect powers (?), Dragon, Paradoxes maybe
Crusher: Infinite Mental Defense, actually five people
RedRover: Limited Time Control without Prep Time or Resources.\
MooGoesCow: Tech Powers?
Ender Smirk: Whatever he has.

CURRENT PLAN
1 .We build up a mental defense by everyone free action/normal action hoping, so I can use hope powers to hope up a mental defense against the shadows.
2. We use infinite bread, hand and inherent powers to craft gear
3. JOEbob's Genius Morpheus Plan.
4. Shadow Hope Plan, that Combines all of our plans together into a workable outlet.

Bread Plan (by FlamingFlapjacks and General_Urist, and other people)

Dry bread that is flammible. Carleah's Guns. Oil Lantern. Hand Sanitizer that is flammable. Use things together to get a flamethrower.

Mental Defense Plan: (By me)

Step 1: Everyone needs to Free Action Hope. Use said HOPE to Reinforce the Mental Defense Plan. Our hope will make it reality in our minds.
Step 2: Some people, including me, need to use their actions to create actual mental defenses. Imagine your mind being a Dungeon Core, and the Godmodder's mental attacks being dungeoneers. Build defenses to kill and stop the dungeon raiders. That is what we are going to try. You need to link together the mental defense so it covers everyone with the mental communication system.
Step 3: EVERYONE NEEDS TO FREE ACTION HOPE EVERY TURN. IT IS IMPERATIVE TO DO THIS. OUR HOPE WILL DEFEAT THE CORRUPTION. Also, normal actions to reinforce the dungeon is MANDATORY.
Step 4: Make sure that your free actions are actually really hopeful and detailed. Music Recommended.

Step 2 Edit: I used my action to try and link together the communication network more so we can all have our minds be in the same Dungeon Room, so while we are defending multiple cores its in the same dungeon and in the same room, that should combine our mental defenses together.

Shadow Hope Plan: (By FlamingFlapjacks)

Step 1: I'm going to harness the shadows with the hope, then use the mental block in my mindscape.
Step 2: Someone then knocks me out. Joe, can you ask GoD to talk to me in the dreams? If that goes through, I'll use the fact that the shadows can go anywhere to poof GoD into everyone's mind, giving us a link to him. Then, we use the Hope of the shadows, everyone's hope, the hope of the GoD, the hope of Cybil, the Hope of everyone we can, to poof Disco-chan into here.
Step 3: I enhance crusher's strength, and we make a array of bread flamethrowers and Bread battering rams for each room. Then, crusher and I use lead, strength, gun, and bread to make and give everyone Ammobread alloy to craft whatever they want with. We then use the shadows to scout out Cybil's gauntlet, and then give them Ammobread stuff to grab stuff from Cybil's gauntlet like weapons and traps. The shadows take the stuff back, we use it.
Step 4: Then, with a shitload of equipment, everyone should be in a much better mood, enhancing the hope, and allowing me to poof all of the cell doors in walls in front of the entrance to Cybill's quarters, or the entrance to where ever he is (find where he is with shadows) We get to portal, and use GoD's aid to open it.(edited)

Morpheus Plan: (By JOEbob, Plan summarized by Redrover1760)

Step 1: Redrover1760 going to talk to JOEbob about everything I know, and empathize the word Connection, as in the Connection between JOEbob and Morpheus.
Step 2: He talks with Morpheus in his dreams with said connection. Brilliant.

Important Thing: The Recollection has OUTRIGHT LIES IN IT. The Godmodder is trying to spread Despair! He is Messing with your Head. (probably?) (Will probably learn more about this later)

Action: I link together our minds more closely in the Communication Network using Mental Power and THE HOPE OF ALL OF US. This allows us to instead of having to defend each and every player separately, to create a Dungeon, where our minds are the Dungeon Core, linked together. All existing and new mental defenses are now together and HOPEFULLY protect all of us equally.

HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE

And then, Hope becomes a resource. A power. Something to use.

Our hopes are linked now with my action. THEN, WE CAN HOPE OUR WAY OUT!

HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE

We are not doomed. We can do this. You can do this. HOPE. HOPE IS THE WAY. YOU. CAN. DO. THIS.

So then, there must be something new. A change. Hope actions. Full actions, powered by Hope instead of player power. Here, now we can start the reckoning. Lets do this. I HOPE so, at least.

Free Action: To happen after JOEbob is sleeping "Hey JOEbob, what is the connection between our world and the Hexagonical Field. I never actually figured out how said connection works. Because if we figure that out, perhaps we might be able to use a connection using portals, before we all die of our own dreams? Yeah, I have no idea what we are able to do. Maybe Paradoxdragonpaci could help? I really wish you had a plan right now, your ability to make connections in logic might be able to help us. Right before I sacrificed myself, I wanted to let you know why I asked you to attack the Godmodder Nation instead. The reason, truly, is that I had a connection to the void. One of my friends were out there, and the Godmodder's nation was slowly closing into them. Luckily, with my created achrono communication device, I made a connection to them. Luckily, as I hoped, they were alive. Their name was Morph, an old friend of mine. It turns out, however, that he, had a few problems. He was being attacked on all sides, and he pleaded us to help. Luckily, I used my connection to him to locate him, and realized where he was. It gave me HOPE. That I wouldn't be dying today, that all of my friends, and that through our connections with other people we gain insight. I dream and hope that he will be safe. Thank you. I hope you have sweet dreams. We are stuck in a cage. A cage that prevents us from escaping. It is filled with problems. We don't have much to work with, and connecting things is really hard using our few abilities. The prison is connected together with various problems, I hope we can escape. Every time we go to sleep we have prophetic dreams that apparently allow the Godmodder to do something or something... I don't even understand why they are connected in the first place. Stupid Realm of Shadows."

This next part is said to JOEbobobob over the communication link, not said, unlike what is above.

Connection... Connection... Connection... Connect. Connection... Connection... Morpheus... Dreams! Hope! God of Dreams! Establish the Connection... Establish the Connection with the God of Dreams! Now, say the current situation... Say that we are imprisoned after dying for the second time in the Realm of Shadows. Free us, we have no power. Be cautious and be alert.

Free Action 2: I begin to create Mental Defenses out of the power of WILL. Willpower may not be as strong as HOPE, but with Willpower, HOPE becomes much more powerful, as seen with Green Lanterns and Blue Lanterns. I will finish this action with a normal action next turn, but luckily manipulating the mind doesn't require much effort.

Free Action 3: For the world, for love, for life, for all, I sincerely HOPE.

You set up a bunch of stuff, including a number of mental defenses...

DUNGEONSCAPE established.

Do i still have my Tech Powers?

Unfortunately, the god of technology is dead... that said, since you're no longer bound to him, the limitations (ie inability to use legendary weapons) are also gone. Even if there was a living god to help you, you'd need something special to reach them down here...

[moo, those come from a god, so... if you can still contact the god from here, possibly? but i don't think we can contact things... normally...]
JOE wakes up.
"Wow. that's nice. fun cell to be in, hm... i wonder what's going on, other then us being dead and in cells..."
[waits for recollection to finish. selfpity is useless. does not selfpity. instead, pretends hands are fighting one another. whatshisname talks on loudspeaker.]
"hm.... rubix cubes and shadows, lovely... dreams? don't players already have those? but we're not players any more... A friendly wager? pfft. ... uhuh"
[then arsenical talk]
"well, you could be lucifer, or you might be a high-ranking demon pretending to be lucifer. does he now? just send devils against him and turn them into players. way out you say? ... couldn't you make this a persistent communication channel? ... as far as you know... HRMMMMMMMMM"
[a short pause.]
"Oh. I know. I'm going to have another nap, guys! hey, redrover, can you repeat the following to me intermixed with general information about our situation while i'm sleeping? also, make sure I remain asleep for at least 90 minutes."
this is quite logical, and intelectual, because i am an intelegelectual.
So. we still have dreams, you see.
and who owes me a lot... god of dreams! yep! it's him!
and we still have dreams.
While these dreams are prophetic, if someone talks to you repeatedly while you're dreaming, those words slip into your dreaming self. perhaps you say them there, or think them. who knows. long enough, and the god of dreams will figure it out.
so off to sleep I go! I've actually got some experience with lucid dreaming in real life as well, which should help our chances. the thing i asked redrover to repeat is that we'll need a connection next time i go to sleep, and general information on our situation- mostly the first.

Thanks to RedRover's reminder, your dreams naturally drift to Morpheus, the god of dreams...

This will take effect at the end of the turn.

OOC/Communication Channel/Free Action: HI EVERYONE If you haven't refreshed the page in the last 5 minutes I strongly advise you to refresh the page and read RedRovers post again because of some important additions

HOPE ACTION: All my dreams, all my old hopes of being more that a composite of shadows in the background, I pour it into the networks and protective walls for our minds Redrover started above.

Free action/if previous is invalid:

I take the oil lamp down and carefully examine it to see if it has infinite oil, or something similar to that.

Vote: Option 1

More HOPE!

You examine the oil lamp. Nothing about it appears to be infinite. You try snuffing out the flame. After a few seconds, the flame flickers back on again. Looking closer, it doesn't appear to have very much actual oil in it at all. It may well be powered through some form of magic.

A man in an odd hoodie is teleported into one of the cells, even he isn't sure which to be honest. He says, "Seriously? Stabbed twice on opposite sides of the torso by the same jerk on the same day? I know this was kind of my plan, but seriousely? I am growing to hate him more with every occurrence related to him, and My hate for Godmodders already could boil infinite multiverses without actually turning it to energy. I am not fond of him either, but we have to get out anyways. Luckily he only seems to take player powers as has yet been shown. Yes, because not having the usual layout did us so much good out there. We are stuck together at least until we leave this stupid dimension, as our powers appear to have been dampened even though they aren't even related to players! Good thing he accidentally caught the corruption in the process though, otherwise we wouldn't be able to do much more than scream in agony before losing all sanity and corrupting the Godmodder's entire food chain. Yes, now others can scream in agony from hearing you jabber for five months straight, and as a bonus you have already made me wish that that nightmare was a part of my being still, wonders never cease with you. Stop moping and let's just get introductions out of the way already. We will in a minute."

Welcome, Ender_Smirk! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask here, on the OOC thread, or on the discord.

Cephalos Jr, Karpinsky, and Eevee Shadow Bacon glance over as you get up from a corner of the cell. They must have just... not noticed you before. Perhaps you got here shortly before they did.

Free Action: I'm a machine. A war machine. I don't have hope. But I back up other people's hope by simulating some good outcomes and recounting happy events.
Action 1: I jack into JOE's nervous system to give Redrover a fail-proof method of talking to JOE.

You double-ensure RedRover's message gets through. JOEbob's mind focuses more and more on Morpheus...

I vote for Option 1

Free ACTion: While Aspect Manipulation....is out of Reach,Hope still surrounds us and gives us More Options.Don't give up just yet, this too will pass like all things and when it does we shall once again be free to do as we like.....I reach out to others with this Hope,a burning star that will spark their own and give them Strength in this trying times

Normal Action: I reinforce my Mental Palace,a small Star System with my Core Self somewhere inside it as an asteroid....The Sun actually contains all my Knowledge and whose Light burns Enemy Intruders as well as expose all who enter my Mind....It's currently not in a good state right now.......a Planet carries all Imaginary Beings I have.....they are Powerful and Great Defenders if need be....the Oort clouds hides my Mind from the Prying Gaze of others blocking out the Sun's radiance from sight even as the Invisible Solar Winds subconsciously caused others to overlook my Mind.....after Imaginary Boosting my Sun by summoning Hydrogen into it to keep it running

HOPE!

You establish the Burning Sun within the Dungeonscape to harry intruders!

I pick up my Shell of a Hero's Blade... "This is for you buddy. We will return to our true forms. Let's break out."

Free Action Focus - HOPE: With the power of my soul, I hope beyond hope.

Action Focus - Faith: I begin to pray with all my heart for the safety of everyone, boosting everyone's ability to generate hope!

HOPE!

Your prayers bolster the spirits of everyone, who can hear them through the shared communication channel.

Heh, so we'll lose our MIND when we sleep? Jokes on you, I've repeatedly stayed awake for over 48 hours! Sleep is for the intelligent weak!

Hmmm, only one action that lacks Player power...I guess I should have invested more in innate abilities. Welp, time for some pointless 'testing'.

Ripping a decent sized piece of bread from the regenerating bread I walk into the bathroom and coat it in hand sanitizer...then I hurl it at the bars. Time to figure out if the burning effect is temperature based or not. Will the bread burn or not, place your bets now!

Of course I pick up the water bucket while I watch the bread as it sits in contact with the bars, if it does burn I'll douse the bread before we have a fire on our hands.

Edit: With my free action I absent mindedly wonder if it's finally time for what once was lost to return to me. It's been quite awhile after all, reality stop holding out on me!

The bread just bounces off the bars. A few more attempts, and you're unable to get the bread to light. It would seem the burning effect of the bars is based on some sort of power/,agic rather than the bars just being really hot.

Huh, well this is going to suck...
"Hello there."
"Wait, Determination? Is that you?"
"Yes indeed. I would like to help you for now on."
"Wait really?"
"Yep! For now, it seems like everyone is going with the breakout. I suggest we do so too."
"Well alright then. Let's do it... so, can I call you something else besides Determination?"
"Sure, What is on your mind?"
"I am thinking about... Michel."
"... Alright sounds good."
"Awesome!"

Action 1: I vote to do the breakout

It looks like the breakout has decisively won the vote!

I use the power of HOPE to create the Blood Starved Beast from Bloodborne in our mind dungeon, to attack any invaders!

I then craft a sword using the bread, and put hand sanitizer on it. I then make multiple copies of my sword.

You think hard, and create the Blood Starved Beast to defend the Dungeonscape!

You try to craft the swords, but agh... you're too slow... you only have one action per turn!

(I vote for the Prison Break plan.)

Action 1: I break off slightly less than half of the bread and eat the bread into the shape of a rectangular prism (like a tablet for writing on.)

What? I have a plan.

You eat some bread, and give yourself a generous amount of BREAD PAPER.

prison break

action I reach into my pocket and check if I still have my alysiometer

Alysiometer? What's that? Whatever it is, it seems to be gone. The inventories of you and everyone else are totally empty.

You add roller and flamethrower cage traps! In an emergency, you can trigger them to seriously hurt all the enemies currently in the dungeon. You also add a few false pathways, which are currently only a minor diversion, but could become more powerful if you added more to them...

HOPE!

-----------

A consensus is reached amongst all the Players, surprisingly quickly and easy: You're breaking out, here and now. No time for games. Today, this prison will fall.

Already, many of you have begun work on a way to escape, or at least have begun properly testing the boundaries of this prison. Some of you try to move your benches, but they're attached to the wall with iron chains. You could take the benches, if you could deal with the iron chains... Many of you begin examining your cells more carefully - and a few of you find that there are a few exploitable flaws in each cell... items, left here by someone or something... nooks and crannies containing various things... flaws in a cell's design... every cell is different. You'll have to work with your allies to abuse whatever you find in your cell!

Right now, you need to work on getting out of these cells. Once you can wander the prison freely, escape will be a lot easier!

JOEbob drifts off, Morpheus on his mind...

Eventually, he finds his consciousness once again floating in Dreamland. Morpheus sits on his throne, hunched over. His normal upbeat demeanor is gone. He looks... defeated.

Morpheus: ...JOEbob. I don't know how you reached me, but you have.

Morpheus: I can sense how long you've been asleep. It's been too long (three days, to be exact).

Morpheus: So much has happened.

Morpheus: ...The godmodder intends to break his deal. Most of the minor gods are dead by now. There's only a handful left, those smart enough to hide themselves (Myself included).

Morpheus: The godmodder isn't going to let anyone live. He never was. With you gone, he has little reason to stand by his obligation to me.

JOEbob communicated his desires to Morpheus. They need help. Any help.

Morpheus: ...I've accepted death.

Morpheus: I should have long ago.

Morpheus: But you... you shouldn't have to accept death. If there's any hope for stopping the godmodder... (it lies with you).

Morpheus: I can sense a lock on all your minds... something blocking you (from your Player powers).

Morpheus: With all of my power, I can remove this lock (I probably won't have enough time to recharge before the godmodder comes knocking at my door).

JOEbob stands silently. He doesn't want Morpheus to be lost. But at this point... there may not even be a choice.

Morpheus: ...JOEbob, give my greetings to all the Players. Tell them I said... good luck (and godspeed).

Morpheus speaks his last words to you, and sends JOEbob on his way...

---------

JOEbob awakens, holding a key in his hand. He knows what he was to do with it.

JOEbob takes the key, stands up... and STABS HIMSELF IN THE FOREHEAD! Then, he twists the key! Amazingly, it's actually completely painless. The key disappears, the gap in JOEbob's head heals, and immediately after, everyone feels something within them, bubbling up all at once...!

A small shred of your powers... coming back! Not everything, not even a major amount... but just enough! Enough to be able to do... something!

Base Player Power increased to 1!

With this small amount of power, you can create basic items, make incredibly weak summons, and potentially inflict minor status effects on enemies! Using the tools you can scrounge together in the prison will have better and more consistent effects, so don't discount them entirely!

But now... now, you're feeling prepared.

This prison doesn't stand a CHANCE.

---------

Within the Dungeonscape, your defenses ready for battle.

The Dungeonscape represents your mental defenses that are trying to block the strain on your collective minds by Cybil's prison! You can spend actions adding defenses to it. However, whenever you go to sleep for any reason, enemies will appear! You can't help your defenses directly, just make more defenses. Your defenses and the enemies will automatically duke it out at the end of every turn. As you take more impromptu naps, the enemies will get tougher and tougher... keep the Dungeonscape secure, and everything will be fine.

JOEbob went to sleep! Right away, a Minor Gobblebeast appears! It attacks the Blood-starved beast, hurting it - but the Blood-starved beast hits back, aided by the sun!

Ranger_Strider_, Paradoxdragonpaci

Hello, my (active) cellmates! I say we firstly focus on getting the benches free, followed with putting metal spikes in the wall cracks, and finishing with hitting the spikes with the benches to crack open the walls even more. (Not entirely during this turn)

Of course we shouldn't neglect mental defenses, and all the flammable stuff in the cell plus the lantern plus Paradoxdragonpaci (fire breath?), well, I'm currently thinking all of us free action to boost HOPE, Paradoxdragonpaci sees about turning the hand sanitizer etc into reasonably viable fire weapons, and that brings me to my first plan to get the benches free. Setting the spots where the chains attach to the benches on fire, plus a decent tug, should get the benches free. (Plan B, for the benches being made of iron, is to pull really hard on the chains to exploit the cracked wall)

And I just ran out of IRL time

Bars - totally intact!
Cracks behind the benches on both bench-equipped walls

Suddenly, a little bit of energy sparks up. As it turns out, it's nearly impossible to completely nullify psychic abilities, or at least my abilities in particular (since a lot of psychic abilities require amplifier thingies that can be taken away from prisoners, but mine don't).

Unfortunately, I've supposedly been declared as the diversion for this prison break. And using player powers isn't a good diversion because then Cybil knows something's up. So, instead i just have to talk with him a bunch.

Action: I talk to Cybil.

"Hey, Cybil, I
'm going to want to sleep, but there's no bed, and I have a really hard time sleeping without a bed and pillows and sheets and all that. You do want me to lose my MIND from sleeping, right?"

Regardless of what happens with that, I continue on..

"Well, anyways, I've got a nice story to share. You can like it, dislike it, ignore it, but I heavily suspect it'll be more entertaining than solving Rubix cubes."

Again, I don't care if I get a response or not.

"You see, this is the story of
Noctis 32:28, aka the Hive Cult. "

(OOC: the green text is not a link, but Cybil and anyone else listening somehow knows that the text is green even though they're hearing it and not reading it)

"The cult sprung up out of seemingly nothing, on a relatively isolated colony. I say relatively in the sense that it only had about a million occcupants, and the planet's lack of resources discouraged additional arrivals, a lucky coincidence that made all the difference in the end."

"The first evidence of their presence was the disappearances. Over the course of a week, almost a thousand individuals disappeared. Searches were sent out, and not only did they fail to find them, but some of the search teams disappeared as well."

"As the disappearances continued, the colony's militia got involved. After some time, they found something. In the distant sectors of the city, they found a secret hideout inside the planet's cave system, powered by a stolen reactor core. But though they captured the evidence on film, they were suddenly overrun. Wormholes appeared around them, and a horde of red-robed cultists arrived through them. The militia group managed to regroup, take cover, and force a firefight against the cultists, but the cultists responded with an incredible amount of psychic ability, and the militia members dropped one by one from unknown psychic attacks.
Then, as the last member of the militia force fell, the psychic assault jumped to the militia commander in mission control. He, thankfully, appeared to resist."

"After this disaster, the colony sent out a distress signal and declared a state of emergency. The city entered lockdown, and this appeared to be successful in stopping further disappearances. But help took a long time to arrive."

"Meanwhile, Terran leadership was up in arms. All signs pointed to the attacks being perpetrated by the Ethereal Legion, the terrifying group of psions that were, collectively, strong enough to rival some gods. They denied the accusation, pointing out that they had no reason to expand outside of their only controlled world, but the Terran Federation was not convinced. Finally, they decided that though the attacks were not their business, a group of rogue psions that were this powerful warranted a response. In a quick agreement, several of their representatives agreed to accompany a Terran elite force in eliminating this cult."

"I wasn't part of that mission, due to being in the proccess of disrupting a demonic invasion scheme. But honestly, had our seers determined the true nature of the threat, my team would've immediately been reallocated to this threat."

"The Ethereal Legion allies identified the location of the base through clairvoyance, apparently having been moved deeper into the cave network to give it even further resistance against potential orbital bombardment. They appeared to be running and disengaging, and the Terran forces ordered an immediate all-out assault, to end the threat quickly. They ignored the advice from the Ethereal psions to hold back until more information could be acquired (potentially due to a perceived conflict of interest), and sent a force deep into the caves to destroy the cultist base quickly. After all, they had the overwhelming numbers advantage, along with half a dozen psions, right?"

Unfortunately, there's only so much talking I can do, so the rest of the story's going to have to wait until next update. Cybil's just going to have to stay tuned.

Free Action: I attempt to recall the Godmodder's appearance. The Godmodder looks like the individual you hate the most, and right now, given how much of a scum Cybil is, he's my most hated enemy by a massive margin. Seriously, there's taking over worlds for your own gain, and then there's intentionally forcing people to have their MINDs slip away over several weeks, and just sitting there and watching for your own benefit. I can feign not caring about this for long enough to distract him, but as soon as he stops being useful to us, he should either die, go to Hell (and stay there forever), or become enslaved to us as a puppet to further our attacks against the Godmodder.

Now, this may not have applied when I saw him, but I think that effect might change my recollection of his appearance. Now, I should know if this works or not based on whether or not the Godmodder resembles anyone I currently know, or an amalgamate of my known enemies not including Cybil.

Free Action 2: Wait, the God of Strategy should still be alive, right? I hope so, he should know when to run and hide in deep space and/or alternate dimensions. Plus that's just his alias, not his real identity (which I'm certainly not disclosing).

I've got player powers now, but not much. I'll need physical material to work with. Now if I could just get this trap door open... HMM! I use the psychic loink we have to start pinging some people.

(not actually speaking out loud, but still using red text to represent communications) Hey Kyleruler, and Bull Nye: You think you could toss that fork you guys have over here? There's a locked door in here and I might be able to use it as a lockpick!

Tazz, Two Eternities, Dragon: Does that map you have show any hidden passages coming out of my and Crusher's cell? I found a locked trapdoor here and I wonder where it leads.

free action 1: I put my pants back on. So much for that scheme.

free action 2: We're supposed to be doing something HOPEful right? Right, hope, I don't work with it that much in the abstract... hmm, what can it...
After a bit of thinking, I start singing the Internationale. Hey, no-one said it had to be the lovey-dovey fairy tale sort of hope.

non-free action will come later, possibly in a seperate post.

CURRENT PLAN
1 .We build up a mental defense by everyone free action/normal action hoping, so I can use hope powers to hope up a mental defense against the shadows. In Progress.
2. We use infinite bread, hand and inherent powers to craft gear. In Progress.
3. We use the new stuff to create a plan to escape! In progress.
4. DONE: JOEbob's Genius Morpheus Plan worked! Player powers ahoy!
5. Shadow Hope Plan, that Combines all of our plans together into a workable outlet. Still working on it.

((Note, plan may be edited as people think about ideas and other plans))

Bread Plan (by FlamingFlapjacks and General_Urist, and other people)

Dry bread that is flammible. Carleah's Guns. Oil Lantern. Hand Sanitizer that is flammable. Use things together to get a flamethrower.

That-Random-Guy's Wall Breaking Plan!

Hello, my (active) cellmates! I say we firstly focus on getting the benches free, followed with putting metal spikes in the wall cracks, and finishing with hitting the spikes with the benches to crack open the walls even more. (Not entirely during this turn)

Look at everything we have Plan (By General Urist, small addition by me at the end)

Cell A:

A1 Extra-large toilet and piping
A2 Cracks behind the benches on both bench-equipped walls
A3 Small locked trapdoor in the ground
A4 Pantry containing a non-regenerating jar of jam and basic cutlery (spoons/forks/knives)

Cell B:

B1 Dusty Megaphone on the ground
B2 Abandoned Incomplete prison map
B3 Abandoned metal-eating-acid-spitting grenade
B4 Ventilation opening (in the ceiling)

Begin thinking of plans to use these with. We need to coordinate. I'll post plans created by you later. I'm doing Mental Defense still.

Step 4: Then, with a shitload of equipment, everyone should be in a much better mood, enhancing the hope, and allowing me to poof all of the cell doors in walls in front of the entrance to Cybill's quarters, or the entrance to where ever he is (find where he is with shadows) We get to portal, and use GoD's aid to open it.

Crusher Mental Attack Plan: (Crusher48)
Step 1: Crusher pulls Cybil into a mental battle temporarily for a few rounds. Its likely the site of the battle will be outside the Dungeonscape, so that needs to be well defended first.
Step 2: While Crusher delays, Shadow Hope Plan and [Eventual] Breakout Plan is finished.
Step 3: Then we help Crusher and drain Cybil of all the information we can get, including the password.

DungeonScape Long Term Defense Plan: (by me)

Important: You can only give orders to entities during their creation in the Dungeonscape!

Step 1: Continue HOPEing as normal for a free action if you can. This will both assist both the Shadow Hope Plan and the Hope Barricade.
Step 2: Proceed to pretend that the Hope Barricade is actually a Castle Wall, as it will be when I make it a Castle Wall. This allows us to position troops and turrets on the wall, like Snipers.

Step 3: Create a few more entities on the field to delay as the Hope Barricade is built more, but create most entities to be on the wall. Entities on the wall have two categories, ranged entities, and melee entities. Melee entities are to stop enemies if they build ladders or siege towers from getting over, and should be more of the tanky/shieldy type, while Ranged Entities should be focused on Ranged and Damage.
Step 4: Create Rugged Terrain Defenses in front of the wall, in addition to Moats and Wind. This will help disrupt Siege Weapons from actually breaching through.
Step 5: Miscellaneous Priorities: Bolster the HOPE Wall to be stronger. Prevent Alternate Routes to get to the Dungeon Core from being established. Reinforce Defenses Behind the Wall if it falls, as Multi-Layered Defenses is necessary.
Step 6: Prepare for an offensive invasion against Cybil in Crusher's Mental Attack Plan. If Crusher's Plan is aborted or if he can't influence Cybil, the backup plan for the offensive invasion is an attempt to destroy the source of the mind attack itself.
Step 7: Enhance the current wall with Fire Arrows, Tar defenses, and anti-you-get-shot-by-enemy ranged units defenses.

So now that is done, lets get on with my Action.

Action: The HOPE Barricade is a Barricade? I turn it into a HOPE Castle Wall. What is the difference between a wall and a barricade, some might ask?

A Castle Wall is more durable than a Barricade, because it is thicker! But you know what else thicker means? You can stand on it! You can put ranged entities of all types on a wall and have them fire down on enemies, safe and sound, while enemies batter themselves on your walls. Luckily, there is a counter to walls... Siege Devices!

If I were alone, I would be screwed. I wouldn't be able to do enough at a time... But we aren't alone! There is HOPE! We can counter Siege Devices!

Note: To put an entity on the castle wall, make sure to note it their and give orders at its creation!

Free Action: MORE HOPE! We will do this!

1] If awake.
"Huh... what now, I wonder?"
so... I'm awake again? well... it normally takes weeks for things to be a problem right?... and we're tied together somehow. one player sleeping should be fine... I set up a device. if it's been 3 days, then freds... already dead, probably. but... morpheus isn't. and while I don't have much player power back... I think I should still be able to do something. come to think of it... attack shield count doesn't scale with player power! so first, I'll heap attack shields on him. that should help, at least...? oh, and some kind of nondetection perhaps... with his help, maybe I can make him another (even more complete) version of the maze? and I did remember an interesting dream recently...
for now, there's no anti-player effect other then us having almost no player power, so my device is set up to send people who are sleeping and not actively resisting (IE: those with no MIND, so shadows) to morpheus' dream realm. mostly, it involves sending the same things that brought me there into their mind, but there's some raw player intention-to-effectness in there just in case too.
[0] if awake
assuming free actions are thing, I free action point out that since it's blood-Starved, it should get stronger the more things its killed. since this is a mental plane, this believe becomes reality.

(((If I'm still asleep and with morpheus, then instead of bringing shadows to morpheus, I give morpheus an attack shield. one players help with a player power of 1 isn't much, but... we do what we can with what we have. OH! and I suggest to morpheus that he try to draw the Shadow players in- I might be able to get them to help too.)))

ACTION: Inspect Map.

Leah wakes up. Omniglot is already hovering over her. She sees her two cellmates, and becomes somewhat more cognizant than usual that she's bunking with men.

Great.

She acknowledges Kyle in her room. She doesn't have the paper from before... But.

Omniglot and her wings return-they are a part of her, in a sense. Anything else...

Leah self-checks herself. She can barely access her inventory.

"Defragmentation of memories has only mildly slowed, for now. Query: map on the floor. Inspect?"

Leah goes with Omniglot's suggestion, and picks up the incomplete map, scanning it for as much information as possible.

I carefully examine the trapdoor, before attempting to pick the lock using some incredibly tough strips of hard bread I tore into vaguely lock-picking-equipment-shaped bread strips.

While I work, I notice Urist singing a song. I don't recognize it, but it sounds neat and inspiring, to some degree.
I begin humming along.

As saddening as our current situation is.... I suppose things are looking up. I guess we really do have something to look forward to huh?
Also: Hey Paradox and That-Random-Guy! I'm liking your plan Random, but before you start pulling, first let me....

1) I summon a sledgehammer and hammer at the cracks in the wall where the benches are.
Also: we can command Arsenical... Oi! Arsenical! Help Paradox pull the bench out of the wall!

You know we've all died like two or three times each, I wonder what happens next? Do we cease? Is this the lowest level and we just reappear here? Do we go to our proper afterlives? Do we reappear in some other dungeon? If it's the first or third it'd deprive the godmodder of precious mind and if it's any of them then it'd be nice to know. I briefly consider committing suicide before remembering that I fear death and that I'm a [N] player, at least in spirit. I attempt to drown Daskter in the infinite water bucket instead because he seems the least important of my cellmates. I tell anyone who objects (such as Daskter) that it's fine because it's in the name of science.

At 11:59:01 pm since apperantly there's a minute of non cell lockdown.

1x I make sure the grenade is functioning, and I then place it next to the bars. I activate the grenade then I take cover under the benches.

1x I light Evonix on fire then throw him at the bars, it's for science.

I use the power of Hope to inspire myself, along with the others!

I create a bell ringing women from Bloodborne, who begins to create soldiers in the Dungeonscape.

I then examine the map, if possible, and tell General_Urist what is on it.

"Alright... so we have to deal with a way of getting out of here... I guess we shall add defenses right?"
"I guess that is a logical way of doing things."
"Maybe we can increase the hope barrier?"
"Sure! I can help by boosting the hope charge because... I am the thing that brings hope!"
"Alright cool!"

Hey Kyleruler, and Bull Nye: You think you could toss that fork you guys have over here? There's a locked door in here and I might be able to use it as a lockpick!

"Oh uh, sure! Here you go!" *I somehow teleport the fork to Urist*

Action 1: I charge the hope barrier

The clearly slightly unhinged man says, "I have an idea, I technically count as a minecraft avatar, And that bench is made of wood. Anyone want to hold the camera feed off me while I test if I am right? This should allow us to get the bench quicker, If you want it usable. Anyone gonna try to help me with this plan?"
He prepares himself, and if anyone helps with the cameras, he quickly gets to work attempting to pick up the bench, as if it was a minecraft block. He is counted as readying his strength for any action if no one helps (Basically 1 cp only usable for minor physical feats. He isn't one to waste effort).
"Side note," everyone hears in their mind "We may have an alternate portal we can get set up out of here, The logic needs more context than bares mentioning now, But I may have a way to get a single portal up. I say this because it is better than a deal with Lucifer, But take it as you will, I just intend to try once we get the password and are in the correct location, Can't guarantee it will work but it is the best I can manage."
Karpinsky, Cephalos, Eevee, and anyone in the cell across from them, notice that half his hoodie shifted colors to a dark greenish teal while that message was being heard. No one is certain what to make of this.

"I just realized that hope is not the only fuel we can use in here, Yes, there is another form of power, one I have plenty of."
Saying this, he starts to focus on every bad thing he had observed the Godmodder do before he entered into the Hexagonafield. From that, he draws forth raw, blinding RAGE. as he does this, the other side of his outfit shifts to looking purple while he does so, ceasing once he is done angering himself.
"The Godmodder cannot actually gain power, no matter how much he thinks he does, from rage. He gains power from Rage Quits, caused by apathy since the rage is impotent. My Rage is anything but impotent. He would drain people through sadness if he could drain energy from emotion alone after all."
RAGE is gathered, giving him a focus as to what to do. This is as well described as violent passion for the job at hand, so it is really just another side to the others' HOPE bit.

Thanks! Catching the fork from Kyleruler, I set about bending the prongs into something resembling a lockpick (using a mixture of brute force, heating it up over flaming hand sanitizer, player powers, and using stale bread as an anvil). I give this logic to That(other)otherguy to aid in his lockpicking efforts.

Kyle gains a surprised expression on his face as a new stat appears.
He's also confused on how everyone seems to be referencing him despite being in different places or him not doing it yet. Space-time is weird today.

YOU - P.P. 1
HP - 20/20
MP - 1/1

"... Well. That... happened? Either way, I'll take it."

Action 1 -
Kyle briefly considers making PB&Js for the whole group, but has other things to use the action on. Instead, he uses the jar of jam, combined with the small bit of player power, to make a Jammer - a device that shatters the jam, now extra sticky, below the enemy's feet, making then waste a turn to get it off.

Free Action -
Bending the laws of space-time, Kyle somehow tosses a fork to General_Urist. He now has two forks?

Free Action 2 -
Kyle begins to make a jam sandwich with the leftover jam.
Peanut butter will be added later.

Not time yet for the Temporal Guardian's return, very well reality. I'll continue to trust your judgement for the time being as you haven't screwed me over that badly from what I recall.

Hmmm, so the cell I'm in has a extra-large toilet and piping...joy. Welp time to see if what Player Power we've got is enough to create a half decent rebreather in one go, I'd prefer not to spend ten turns conjuring up the necessary parts.

Ripping a piece of bread off before I get to work I toss the fairly large piece of bread into the toilet and flush. I doubt this prison forgot to secure their toilets and I need to figure out what they got. (Free Action)

With that out of the way I begin crafting a rebreather, saving energy by using the infinite bread and toilet paper in its construction when I can incorporate those materials safely. My rebreather won't win anything for its cobbled together look with the basic components and structure reinforced with bread and toilet paper but as long as it works I'll take it. (x1)

Free action: I beam reassuring images of castle walls holding to peoples' heads. (So basically helping other people's HOPE stuff.)
Action 1: I take a bunch of scratchy toilet paper and put metallic granules in it. It's scratchier now, a bit like sandpaper.

Free Action:There' always HOPE,even when everything else is gone.....this small spark may turn into a raging Inferno

Action:Hand Sanitizer...i reignite my inner Flame and see if i can use these things to make a flamethrower after Paradoxifying a few jars to hold the Sanitizer and a nozzle to direct the flame
