Defeat The Godmodder

...........
oh my god.....
no....
This can't be happening!
Guys! Stop panicking!
I agree with him! Please, We haven't lost yet!
We have a meeting to get to guys!
......right...

Meanwhile...
Shadrix and Kirby look shocked. Kirby is on a verge of tears.
"......This is not good. Not good at all."

"What do we do?"
"I doubt my galaxy size fleet won't help much. They will just get slaughtered..........
.................I know what to do."
"What?"
"..... I am sorry to say, but we must wait. If we go in and attack, we die. The players are our only hope."
"But sir! What about your Immortality?"
"I lost that when I fought the Godmodder. Don't you remember?"
"Sorry! just stressed out!"
"Wait! Can't we call Creation? He is the God of the Multiverse! we can just-"
"Can't. I tried. Besides, I don't think even he can stop him."
"oh....."
Shadrix takes out his chaos emeralds and looks at them. He gives a sigh. He looks at Bill.
"Please... be safe."

So, what's the victory condition now?

As best as I can tell, we need to raid the ruins and fight a race against time. In order to win, we need to discover the Godmodder's Critical Soul Weakness, break his barrier somehow, hit him with his Critical Soul Weakness, and do all of that before he obliterates reality. I believe the Peacekeepers will throw their bosses at the Godmodder to stall him for as long as they can.

Agreed....but first let's buy some Extra Time for that Team Meeting.

(x3)I proceed to get some More Time for the Team Meeting. Its easy to do so when you summon the Shade of Aradia to be Maid of Time.

I then join Dragon of Hope in clearing out the Steam Library.

"So we're totally fine because the Godmodder hasn't failed an action since I hit the soul orb really hard."
"Also, its interesting that Evucorp hasn't been attacked."
[x1] I ask Evucorp if it can evacuate the entirety of Reality.
[x1] I grab at the energy the Godmodders shield left behind. from the Unholy Divine Shield's remnants, the Godmodder lock, and- if I can think of a place to include it- Something, I do my best to create a DeityModderscendant Lock. and place it around all reality. or Evucorp, if action one failed.

"Hm."
"Can you fix this? I think perhaps you can."
"Here. take these. And before you give up, listen."
"The Godmodder has One health. Being descended didn't heal him; this won't have done so either."
"You said yourself you can use your power once before he kills you? Well, these are Boost Stones. Relics of an earlier time. They give 3 extra actions. To anyone. You, Me, the Godmodder, even..."
"That's Seven times your normal output for a round. So, there are a few ways this can go down."
"You can try and get him to drop the shield and let us hit."
"Or... here's a creative option. We have an item called the Ressurection Orb. if we use it, we can bring back the Charmzard and kill it, damaging the Godmodder. Descended didn't help the Godmodder against that kind of thing."
"If you can make sure it works... and this is an edge case, so hopefully it'll be easier...? Then, well, that's game."
"Oh, and we haven't failed."
"One, in case you didn't hear, the Godmodder hasn't had an action stutter to a stop from heavy soul orb damage. that Has to happen at some point."
"And two..."
" "
"Oh! And, because Levity is important! I hope your 'Truth about JOEbob' chapter starts with something along the lines of 'Now, the first truth we must unveil is that there is no JOEbob. "We'll come up with something. WE HAVE TO!"

I stumble, reeling from what happened. I can't catch my breath for a moment.

"Oh." I murmur. "Oh God-"

I feel my throat clog and choke up. I feel my hands catch themselves on my knees before I register the sound of me getting violently sick.

After that nasty display, I wipe my mouth clean and... Well, my Player Power expends no effort in getting rid of the mess.

"What the actual fuck? What are we going to do? What..."

I close my eyes. When has raw power ever worked before? Not often. Not ever, if I can recall. Only zaniness and creatively applied BS. And...

"His 25 HP Boss. Has that thing turned up yet?" I ponder aloud, then remember the Princess. "If we found and killed her, would that also kill the Godmodder? He only has one health point left - any legitimate Boss death would finish him."

I then slap myself. "No. Not her. We've come this far. We'll finish this the RIGHT way. Somehow."

"An Unholy Divine Shield. Raw power cannot undo it. But perhaps there's a way to bypass or undo it. " I muse out loud to myself. "...This planning session is going to be important. Lethally so."

I take my three Actions... and Crystalize them as three orbs. Power. Creativity. Perseverance. I then shoot them out into Reality for any hero worthy of their essence to obtain and use them to undo the Godmodder's evils. Not useful now, but they will be if we survive.

If.

...

I take that If, and smash it to pieces. There's too much on the line to allow its existence in my mind anymore. Not in the form of doubt, anyway.

"As a side note, it's nice to see another Gloryhammer fan."

I look up to the sky, cracking my knuckles. I look down into the infinite blackness of perdition rising below us. I shake my head, draw my Daybreak sword, and blaze with solar power.

"Well, I know we're gonna find some way to stop all this. But, if we don't... Well, we didn't make a name for ourselves by going quietly.

"Whatever happens, let's fight to the bitter end!"

Eyowe's absence for the whole 2-turn duration of the debate session can be attributed to the fact that he is still trying to make a yoyo with the 23 rocks that he mistook for his CP. However that endeavor went, it is only now that he has taken notice of and reacted to what has just transpired.

Eyowe: Huh.

A distant roar is heard. The sound of someone trying to cover a lot of ground very fast.
Whatever happens next, Piono will likely be there for it.

Hopefully he can bring the others.
Hopefully it's not too late.

All Evacucorp representatives are currently busy.

You fail to grab the energy. There is none. You can't handle it even if there was some.

The Writer: I might have one more thing I can do...

You shoot out the three orbs of Power, Creativity, and Perseverance. Perhaps some future hero will claim them and use them to accomplish some great quest.

-----------

Everybody has retreated to a nearby temporary skybase set up. The NPC Players have rejoined you. Arsenical was moved to a separate facility, and is currently recovering - it looks like he's going to be just fine long-term.

Ash stares down off the edge of the skybase, at the huge crowd of foes milling about below. Jamie is sitting down, staring at nothing. Cloak and Cera are still standing, both trying their best to keep it together. Altair and Quinn have taken up position at front, clearly indicating that they're the leaders. Thanks to paradoxdragonpaci's maids, you have a little extra time to recover, but...

Altair: There's no sense in waiting any longer. Let's get started.

Ash: Give it to me straight, please.

Ash: If we're all going to die, tell me right away. I have some people I want to visit if it's hopeless.

Cera: Ash... don't say such things...

Ash: Cera, be realistic for once in your life, here.

Ash: I mean. This is what he's been working towards the whole time. He's more or less won now, right?

Jamie: We came so close...

Altair: We are not doomed.

Everyone goes quiet for a moment. Altair repeats himself.

Altair: We are NOT doomed.

Altair: There is still one card on the table. I believe a few of the Players have already realized.

Altair: The Godmodder has not yet been struck by his Critical Soul Weakness.

Cloak: Vast numbers of Player groups in the past have attacked the Godmodder with every sort of mundane thing possible. What could his weakness possibly be? It would be exceptionally lucky for us to hit it now...

Ash: Altair, if your plan is to attack the Godmodder with random objects...

Altair: No. The ruins.

Ash: ... Hmm...

Cloak: I remember them! They're located somewhere out in Earth's oceans, and supposedly they can give the Critical Soul Weakness of anything, but...

Cloak: They always said, over and over, that it's a bad idea to use them to try and find the Godmodder's weakness.

Altair: Well, I can't imagine at this point that it's a worse idea than doing nothing.

Altair: Me and Quinn have our proposal. Quinn?

Quinn: Thanks, Altair.

Quinn summons a giant slideboard, with a powerpoint presentation already prepared. He brings up the first slide, showing the Player group going in two different directions as two different units. One has all of you, the rest has the Players not originally part of your group - Quinn, Altair, and the others.

Quinn: First, we split into two groups to accomplish two different objectives.

Quinn: The first group - the smaller one - will enter the defensive fortress that used to be the housing place for Yoreshield.

Quinn: Alice took some of the defenses down, but we'll get them up and running again. I believe that place has a port to the Eternal Stasis Machine as well, which is why the Eternal Stasis Machine is so difficult to get to.

Quinn: We might have to unleash those stored within the machine as a last-ditch effort. We'll do what we have to. But the end result is, we lure the Godmodder and his infinite army over, and do everything we can to stall them. Make it seem like a final stand. A distraction.

Quinn: Meanwhile, all of you - he points to you and your fellow Players - will go to Earth - the ruins.

Quinn: Your objective will be to acquire the Godmodder's Critical Soul Weakness.

Quinn: Then, we'll meet back up, and use whatever you find against the Godmodder.

Quinn: I can't say it'll work, but... it's our last shot at saving Reality.

Quinn: Now then. Any questions?

Cera: I have one - the Godmodder's new Army is massive. How can a smaller group like ourselves hope to survive against them even for a handful of turns?

Altair: Right. Well, we have a few things. First, the last of the Peacekeeper bosses are over there. We'll have whatever defenses are left at the fortress. The other Players currently running around might meet up with us.

Altair: And - though I'm sorry to ask this - Players, I'm going to have you ask for all your remaining items and CP.

Altair: The ruins is a dangerous place, but things brought in from the outside will be of extremely limited use. The entire place has on it a curse of no charging, curse of no entity summoning... it's clearly designed not to be beatable with prior preparation alone.

Altair: The more items and CP you give us, the better chance we'll stand against the Godmodder's Army.

While inside the ruins, your items and CP will be useless. The more CP and items Altair and the others have - the longer they can last against the Godmodder, and the less likely they are to die.

Altair turns to you.

Altair: Players. Any questions on your end?

------------

Jamie: I feel... weaker.

Altair: Yes... it's indeniable now that God was the source of our powers.

Altair: Without him, we'll lose them before long. I'd say to pray we'll have enough time, but...

With God dead, your Player powers themselves have begun to drain away. The more they drain, the weaker you'll become.

After 20 turns, they'll disappear completely. At that time, Unholy Divine Obliteration will finish charging, and the Godmodder will have won.

Move quickly!

OOC: During this turn, you can take one last breather, continue to wrap up any RP/world stuff you want to do, and ask questions about the upcoming mission. If you'd like to withhold items from Altair and the other groups, just ask. Normal items will be of almost no use in the coming challenge.

Note that a few plot-important items will remain in your inventory no matter what.

Altair: Players. Any questions on your end?
"Yes, because there's one big problem with this plan. You see, what you've considered is the problem of hurting the Godmodder, which is arguably the easier of the two issues we face. The major one is the shield." ES conjured forth an energy barrier to drive home the point.

"As the shield is its own object, we suspect that it will require its own attack to eliminate," Amelia added.

"And thus we face not one Critical Soul Weakness fact finding expedition-" ES raised a single finger.

"But two." Amelia added her own finger alongside his.

"We need to find both the weaknesses of the Shield as well as the Godmodder's."

"He'll have prepared his shield for mental attacks, so if the CSW is of that type then we will still need this."

"This does assume the Shield has such a weakness, but it's our best bet."

The pair of them lowered their arms. "It's twice the work, but we're confident we can pull it off.

I give all items I currently have to the Last Stand.

"Give them hell,alright??"

(x3)I meditate on the Ruins and the Critical Soul Weaknesses stored within...the probable location is in the deepest heart of the place...is there a possibility of the Godmodder moving...probably not??...

"...I swear to- how is This the plan you come up with? This! The first issue is what ES noted, but it is, I suppose, theoretically surmountable, just several times harder."
"look, I get that the Ruins have been brought up, foreshadowed, used as a plot point. Sure, there are some things pointing to them."
"But there are other plans- Ones not suggested as terrible ideas several times, ones which Don't scale with the strength of the Godmodder in terms of difficulty! It's harder to find a soul weakness of a more powerful being, and the Godmodder is currently around as strong as every Architect there ever was put together! I mean, not quite that strong, but close!"
"So! Completely off the top of my head! less then a minute of thinking to come up with them! are two ideas! One of which, on inspection, someone else, and I, already said, and you didn't respond to!"
"One! We either kill the potentially still-living sealed princess! Or ressurect a sealed boss, the charmzard, and kill it! What would we lose? The Ressurection orb, which we are unlikely to use anyway, and at most one action to kill it dead!"
"This plan is also compatible with your own! You could ressurect the Charmzard for combat purposes, to have it mind control your foes when they pour in! and then, if its death will harm the Godmodder, then he'll take that damage! and die!"
"Two! We go to the Godmodders shadow realm! which must be already present here, because every plane is here except the administrative one, which the Shadow Realm is not! And free even One player! the Godmodder loses one health! He Dies! If we can go to the ruins on earth, there is little reason not to go to the Shadow Realm, the defenses of which we have seen could be defeated almost entirely by even just Disco-chan! just get one of them!"
"There are probably others! When you think something is the only option, and you have not tried to think of alternatives for Five Minutes By the Clock (a timeslowed one, obviously), then you are not doing it right!"
"granted, the forces of causality and background lore always seem to conspire to make sure that any plan suggested by a player who doesn't function quite on the Posts system is actually the only and best plan. but accepting this is not particularly good epistemologically."

<I let them have the Godmodder Lock and cleansed multiplier orb, only maybe the boost stones, and definitely keep Something. Also, if player powers are vanishing, wouldn't making an entity with similar powers rooted in some other system be rather useful? If the answer to this question is yes:
[x25+2] I immediately spend all 25 of my CP on making myself a secondary body. yes, the CP is from a player and hence god, but it can affect things not from a player or god. I do that to make nanotech armor or whatever the most powerful scifi technology that's physically real is. To do so, I make use of the Eternal Stasis Machine's entities blueprints that some of them have probably made. I also make use of the Taint, which came from the Christmas present which is neither player nor god, and was only granted extremely favourable conditions by me, and so will not run low on power, and add in any baseline reality magic systems by only second-order effects. I then upload a copy of my brain there. Oh, and I make use of the infinite charmzard energy as a permanent fuel source; its Godmodding-based, not Player-based.
And if it won't work because no entities, I make it an Item. an Item locked to my thought processes instead of my player powers, designed to be operable with or without them, with a notable battery, a health bar, and so on. There's no rule saying items can't have durability, is there? the godmodder suit thing the dark one had comes to mind as something similar, albeit less entityiffied.
>
[1x (or 3x if the above doesn't take)] I conjure a glowing Cyan arrow and give it homing and non-euclidean travel. plus rockets. and explosion powers. We're still at 100% player power, which means I still have a million attack power, and I direct all this attack power to target the Sealed Princess with a secondary priority of targeting any other sealed bosses that may still be around.

"Point of order: It's entirely possible that the shield somehow blocks those sources of damage via its complete bullshit power. I'm not sure how, but it may be able to.

However, if that's the case, it'll almost certainly also still block the CSW, which just reinforces my point in that case."

Ultimo Durana and the Powerful Callback Greatsword are staying with me. Ultimo Durana can still do a heck of a lot, even without CP. The Powerful Callback Greatsword might be useful for a powerful attack in the future.

"Well then, LET'S ROCK!"

"Join point me in the right direction and I'll do whatever you need."

I sheath my Daybreak sword, slide a golden gun into my hip holster, and conceal solar knives in my sleeves. I make sure I'm properly suited for the job ahead, and take a breath.

"Let's just hope this doesn't become the Fires of Ancient Cosmic Destiny."

I sigh, watching the whole ascension shebang. Well, nothing we can do to stop all that. We can only hope to defeat the Godmodder.
If items will still be useful in our upcoming trials, I begin slowly assembling a gun, utilizing the bag of nine-sided dice, and whatever items we have that no-one needs anymore.

.....Well... If you say so.
(Bill takes out his weapons from his inventory and sighs. I then give them to Altair)
Even though I don't have CP, I hope these will help.
I believe in you.

Meanwhile...

Shadrix: its almost time...
Kirby: Do we have a backup plan in case things go wrong?
Shadrix: .....no. and I don't think jumping to another reality will help either.
Kirby: You know... Monika has been asleep for a while.
Shadrix: oh... yeah. how is she?
Kirby: I don't know, we need to check.

Shadrix and Kirby go to see that Monika is still there, sleeping away.

Shadrix: man... she must be tuckered out. How long has she been sleeping? How long has this gone on for?
Kirby: I don't think time matters here anymore.
Shadrix: .......... I plan to settle this after his destruction. I want to see the Godmodder die for myself.

Find Valla. Her Player Power Lock might disrupt the power drain and buy us the time we need.

Didn't you previously stop her from doing anything?

I'd call that a mistake now.

Understood. I'll see if I can find her.

Action 1: I open the previously-established player communications channel and contact Valla.

So, Reality is about to be wiped out, and the Godmodder is stealing our power to do it. I know that we haven't gotten along, and I know that you have no reason to work with us, but your goal of freedom will fail if the Godmodder rewrites reality in his own image. Whatever his new reality is, I doubt it will allow for any sort of freedom for anyone other than himself.

You said you were making a Player Power Lock that would negate power drain. If you completed and activated that, it would disrupt the Godmodder's reality-obliterating attack, and give us additional strength to have a better chance at defeating him. If you succeed, your goal of freedom will be truly realized.

I send Valla the Ore of Orichalcum. I also give her my 3 CP, which should hopefully help her find and extract the last piece faster.

Action 2: I overload my precognitive powers to find the location of the third piece of the player power lock, and use any excess energy to also determine how to collect the third piece optimally. I share this information with Valla.

Action 3: Writer, you have been to the Ruins. I'd like a full breakdown of their defenses, and of the threats that we will face there.

"Well now, ain't this annoying. The Godmodder continues to have great success...honestly, how surprising can it be that we've reached this state?" I sigh dramatically. "Still, he hasn't won quite yet. Enough death and destruction has happened, I don't accept letting everything die. Even if I care more about my entities than the rest of this convoluted Reality, its destruction is unneeded."

Still, the situation is hardly optimal. A harsh time limit, an impossible mission, and whatever else will eventually shoot forth from the shadows. Satan and God are gone, the Godmodder has gone beyond any known power... it's a shame that a certain Purgatory esque organization wasn't also eliminated in the Godmodder's powerstealing quest. It's not like his might isn't already overpowering.

Despite all of this...eh. Oh, sure, the crisis has reached its peak but...this conflict has been surprisingly good at leaving you desensitized. I made a point to maintain my connections to my entities but a lot of others have been severely diminished. When life can be willed into existence and be extinguished just as easily...when even Players and Bosses can fade away...distancing yourself to avoid the crippling pain of loss works. In the end, it's just the Godmodder continuing his success to the next step and everyone will to their best to foil his latest efforts.

Now then, giving the 'final stand' crew a better chance to last long enough. They want my items and my CPs so they receive slow, agonizing deaths instead of obliteration. It's nice to find a cause I can get behind.

Let's see, I'll give them my CPs, the EMP, the Mopium, and the Overpowering Poison+1. Something to help take out robot foes, a crystal to hold off depression, and a potent DoT effect that worked on Charmzard before being buffed.
[N]CaptainNZZZ - CP: 0 (protected from 1 attack)(1 attack redirector)(has Entity Loyalty Punch Card - redeems one disloyal entity, Remnant crypt energy, Godmodder Tracker V1.0, always-hit-Monocle)
CP: 4
Overpowering Poison+1
Rotaz completes work on the EMP! A special weapon that's effective at damaging and stunning mechanical foes! It's added to CaptainNZZZ's inventory.
The EMP is a one-use thing, but it's quite powerful. Use it wisely!
You find some rare Mopium! Its a unique crystal that, according to certain facebook groups, has an aura that can cure depression!
...and before you ask, Quinn, I will not be providing you any of that alcohol. While I've certainly done my best to cultivate a good relationship with you and the Peacekeepers, you shouldn't be intoxicated right now. As the Peacekeepers found out when I gave you it, it's far too potent to use as liquid courage.
