Infiltration - Sidequest 2-5
-- maindop snip* --

Thirdly, I head back to the opening I found and crawl right in! When I reach the end of the tunnel, I carve as many barrier glyphs on the ground in front of me as I can on such short notice, protecting me from possible attack and traps which the Godmodder probably included.

-- entity orders don't apply for this* --

INVENTORY: 0 Mana crystals, 3->0 containers Concentrated Glyphic Magic, 0 Metal Glyph D20.
EQUIPPED: Caster's Gauntlet (Silverwood, Glyphic, multipurpose. Level 7)
Assets:
>Glyphic Factory (Alchemiter-powered Power Supply(Frovens)! Has Electricity -> Mana Conversion!)
>>G. Grist Mine (cost: 1 Cont. Glyphic Magic, 1 Action labour. Upgrades: 1 M. Crystal, Aprx. 1 Action labour. other upgrades: 1 Cont. G.mag, stacking, auto.)w/~3200G,
>>>Alchemiting guy (crafting Cnt.Glph. magic).
>>G. Foundry (-7000G for Glyphs.)
>>Iron Guardian Array (Glyphic) (cost: Metal Glyph D20, 3 Cont.Glyph Magic, 2 Actions labor.) w/??? Mana.
>Glyphic Siphon (1 Cnt.Glph Magic, 3 Action Labour (Empowered through gauntlet). Upgrades: Self(Ucnn), stacking, auto)

20,000 Grist.

You crawl through the air duct and enter into the second floor of the fortress - some kind of drone production and maintenance room from the look of it. A generic guard, but... not quite generic, since he's dressed in a lab coat and is repairing drones, additionally exists in the room. The problem with this is that he notices you - and scrambling for his weapon, he prepares to fight. Seems like you have a surprise round here!

I move into the room with the target in it and begin a Megaanalysis using all three actions, some grist, and my eyeballs.

Using 12,000 Grist, a Focus Action, and your eyeballs, you enter into the room and immediately begin a megaanalysis! You're able to see that this room contains large batteries, with a mixture of some being filled and some not. All these batteries are connected to some kind of breaker, seeming to power the Ulticannon... you could probably get in and at the very least, disrupt the charge!

Additionally, your analysis reveals two more points of interest [and the map] on the second floor! Seems like these are at least a bit easier to get to...

Inventory: Oarred Longship, Blossom Bow, Shuriken Staff, Purple Dragon Belt, Paint Set, Party Rapier , Halberd Musket, Stabbing Cart, Solar Bat, Viking's Cannon Halblade, Tranquilizing Flintlocks

I follow Al into the room he goes to, and spend all my actions charging grist

You follow Alastair and charge up 8000 Grist!

Items: Steel Swiftsword, Bag of Capture, Spherical Shooter, T-Rex Progrise Key, Jacker Gauntlet, GM Stress Applicator, Godmodder Brand Headache Inducer, Attaché Calibur
Grist: 74000
Real Estate: Alchemiter Research Facility, Grist Outpost
Entities: Satellite Zea, Kamen Rider Vulcan

1. I look at the dead drone and study it
2. I decide to follow Alastair and help him
3. I decide to scan the area with infrared, and night vision sensors in my helmet.

You study the dead drone, finding that it's essentially a standardized drone like you'd be able to find in retail markets, but not much more. A small submachine gun is attached to the things underside, and although it's smoking due to the damage the drone's sustained, it's not too bad.

Alastair is followed! You scan the area with infrared and night vision, gaining some insight on the actual objectives here - shutting down the drone system and finding the Godmodder to disrupt his assistance of the Ulticannon charge!

Infiltration - Sidequest 2-6
Firstly, I rush over to the researcher. The drones are busy being repaired, it says, so him first. Also, drones are idiots. But what to do when I reach him?
The problem with magic in general is that people try to use it for everything, but it's not always the best solution. Glyphic Magic compounds this- it takes time, preparation, precision. put a too much magic into one part of the Glyph structure, and it won't work just a little worse like an attack spell. The energy flow goes bonkers, like if you open a direct line from power to Ground. If you're lucky, it'll "just" waste 80% of the energy. if you're unlucky, the whole thing will go unstable and melt down - and you can't even abuse it, because the melt-down is way weaker then a proper glyph attack Would have been. The point is, some people use Magic too much. I am not one of those people.
Reaching the Researcher/guard, I kick at one leg while grabbing his weapon and yanking it aside. The guard, unless he's a particularly skilled fighter, stumbles forwards, which gives me the opportunity to knee him in the face, at which point he is liable to let go of his weapon. Taking a step to the left and forwards, I screen myself from the drones with the researchers body for a few seconds as I club them in the neck with the back of their weapon. And that last blow Hurts- while Glyph Magic is a Terrible idea to cast mid-fight, even more so then normal magic in close combat, Glyphs already charged make for excellent boosts, and I mentioned carving Glyphs into the Gauntlet while I was making the Siphon, one of which is a strength amplifier. The Guard goes down.

Secondly, I immediately drop to the ground in case the drones will target me, and scrawl a few emp-generating glyphs (they don't do it directly, but the feedback process between improperly carved shock glyphs and surrounding micro-structures of metal mana has interesting implications. plus, since it has to be improper it's actually fairly reliable to generate in combat!), weak ones but enough to disrupt the visuals of the drones. While the drones are confused, I steal the Researchers clothes, access pass, etcetra, then put My clothing on them, sneakily carve a mid-duration stun glyph into their hair, and slip the gauntlet on their arm. Then I destroy the Emp glyphs and stop supplying them mana, leaving the drones to see what looks to be a Researcher Guard standing over the defeated intruder after knocking them out. I half-mumble something about 'figuring out how that weird gauntlet works', retrieve my gauntlet again, and leave it to the drones to kill the "intruder" when my glyph wears off and he wakes back up.

Thirdly, leaving the room- on the grounds that I was just attacked and need to tell the Godmodder, if any of the drones are smart enough to ask- I act like I'm supposed to be here all the way to room 3, avoiding any interruption by way of looking mostly like the late Researcher Guard and of walking confidently.

INVENTORY: 0 Mana crystals, 1 containers Concentrated Glyphic Magic, 0 Metal Glyph D20.
EQUIPPED: Caster's Gauntlet (Silverwood, Glyphic, multipurpose. Level 7)
Assets:
>Glyphic Factory (Alchemiter-powered Power Supply(Frovens)! Has Electricity -> Mana Conversion!)
>>G. Grist Mine (cost: 1 Cont. Glyphic Magic, 1 Action labour. Upgrades: 1 M. Crystal, Aprx. 1 Action labour. other upgrades: 1 Cont. G.mag, stacking, auto.)w/~3800G,
>>>Alchemiting guy (crafting Cnt.Glph. magic).
>>G. Foundry (-7000G for Glyphs.)
>>Iron Guardian Array (Glyphic) (cost: Metal Glyph D20, 3 Cont.Glyph Magic, 2 Actions labor.) w/27->29+?ish Mana.
>Glyphic Siphon (1 Cnt.Glph Magic, 3 Action Labour (Empowered through gauntlet). Upgrades: Self(Ucnn), stacking, auto)

30k->40,000 Grist.

You deal 15000 damage to the guard, stunning him enough to allow further shenanigans! Blocking the Drone's sensors enough to preform a switch, you trade clothes with the researcher! Re-equipping your gauntlet, you make it to the upper hallway without any further conflict. You wonder how his drones will react when he discovers himself to be the intruder...

Items: Steel Swiftsword, Bag of Capture, Spherical Shooter, T-Rex Progrise Key, Jacker Gauntlet, GM Stress Applicator, Godmodder Brand Headache Inducer, Attaché Calibur
Grist: 193,000
Real Estate: Alchemiter Research Facility, Grist Outpost
Entities: Satellite Zea, Kamen Rider Vulcan

1. I decide to use my jacket gauntlet on the dead drone, stealing it's data for decrypting, scanning, and reverse engineering for later use and sending it to zea.
2. I contact Vulcan to see if there are any changes in the outside world
3. After finding out about this ulticannon breaker I contact zea to see if the satellite can find it.

You do so, adding some Drone Data to your inventory (Well... Satellite Zea's, but... still). It's there for further use!

Vulcan replies that not much has changed, other than the Fortress sending out some entities and several new Players arriving. Nothing major, and everything you own is safe!
[However, I have an idea for the Revelation Points that have been accumulating. With your permission, I might be able to use them to really expand the Alchemiter's capabilities...]

The satellite cannot find it due to it being on the inside of a massive bunker! You have no problem though, considering you can see it pretty apparently in front of you on the right wall.

I decide the best and most efficient way is to use the famous art of technobabble and reverse the polarity of the breaker! I make sure not to simply reverse the flow of electricity - that might have no effect - but by reversing the polarity in once fell swoop I reverse its ability to charge and sabotage the progress of the Ulticannon! After all, it's designed for the power to flow a specific way - any reversals are liable to cause significant damage!

Shenanigan finished, I use my two remaining Actions to head to Room 3 and- oh dangit.

"Uhh... Hi?"

Smooth, me. Smooth.

You reverse the polarity of the breaker, reversing the possible charging capabilities and making it completely unable to charge at all! Immediately after this is done, the entire display goes dark and the wores coursing throughout the room seem to... no longer be transmitting a charge. It appears the Godmodder has shut down the room!
Charge of the Ulticannon Added Per Turn Halved!

Moving to Room 3, you come across the two other guards...

Guard - State your purpose and reason, or leave!
Other Guard - Failure to do so will result in direct confrontation with our lord supreme!

They brandish their weapons menacingly, though it lacks the same effect when you could severely injure both of them in one turn...

Inventory: Oarred Longship, Blossom Bow, Shuriken Staff, Purple Dragon Belt, Paint Set, Party Rapier , Halberd Musket, Stabbing Cart, Solar Bat, Viking's Cannon Halblade, Tranquilizing Flintlocks

I walk up to the breaker, and spend all my 3 actions smashing it with my Solar Bat, which is sure to mess it up greatly!

Smashing the breaker, you realize that this controls more than the Ulticannon: It controls the entire fortress! As you smash it, lights flicker and the entire electrical system begins to fail. Light eminates from your bat before the lights come back on, although considerably dimmer and flickering occasionally. Though the Fortress isn't down, it's weakened - and even better, you were the one to cause it.

(x1)(Illusory Reality Beam)(Paradox Wand)I use the IRB to make myself invisible, odourless, silent and the Paradox Wand renders me too...chaotic to read with Pre/Peri/Post-Cog. With this much stealth, I move into the Snowspire Fortress to join the Sidequest.
You enter the fortress with multiple layers of stealth on you, making it unlikely that you'll be detected by the Godmodder and his minions within the fortress! You're currently located in Area 1. Keep in mind that it takes an action to move in here, so it's best to keep that in mind. Good luck!

(x1)Moving to the Main Hallway, I pull out my Chromatic Shurikens and the Aspected Multitool as I sneak up to the Guards, avoiding any Ink or other debris and moving without a sound.

(x1)(Aspected Multitool)(Chromatic Shurikens) I then, infusing the Shurikens with Aspects of Void and Breath, tuning them to Stun the Guards, I toss them at the 2 Guards. With my stealth, the nature of Void and the Speed of Breath, they will have no time to react before the Shurikens hit them, causing them to fly backwards into Room 7 even as the Shurikens release their stunning payload. The Guards should be down for a while.

(x1)Nodding at Alastair...before realising he probably can't see me, I ascend the stairs, being careful to remain stealthy, and not trip.

You move to the Main Hallway before anybody notices, proceeding to utilize this to your advantage as the Guards of area 3 are quite suddenly transportalized to the next room over! Though not enough to kill them, it's enough to preserve your stealth and free Alastair from a confrontation!

You additionally proceed to the Upper Hallway afterwards, maintaining your stealth successfully!

Firstly, I go to room 4.
Secondly, I move to room 3.
And Thirdly, I carve a simplified version of the Glyphic Grist Mine into the top of one of the crates in this room, causing it to mine the rich grist and expand to the other crates as I continue feeding it mana.
I Preview (My Soul || (small rock && small tree && small shield && small bowl && small hand && small computer && small book)) or, simplified, (My Soul combined with 'smallness'.). Since souls have a 'shape' and stuff, they sound fairly alchemisable.

You move through Room 4, revealing a vast number of guards in the room! Since you look like a researcher, they let you through to the Grist Vault, but you find yourself being watched closely. Placing the syphon glyph here and now would not bode well for your survival... but you're still in the vault. What will you do?

Preview: Your Soul -O Shrink:
[LVL 15 - 1,000,000 Grist, 12000 Precious Grist] Shrunken Soul:
A soul, glowing with power... but much smaller than the average soul. It's level speaks for it's value, along with it's effects. Along with boosting the owner's health in sidequests and other events where tenacity is required, it also grants the user
one additional action a turn, making it immensely valuable. (... Okay, I knew the Alchemiter could do powerful stuff, but this is ridiculous.)

Items: Steel Swiftsword, Bag of Capture, Spherical Shooter, T-Rex Progrise Key, Jacker Gauntlet, GM Stress Applicator, Godmodder Brand Headache Inducer, Attaché Calibur
Grist:
Real Estate: Alchemiter Research Facility, Grist Outpost
Entities: Satellite Zea, Kamen Rider Vulcan

1. I look at the broken breaker with a sigh and brush off some of the broken parts away, I find a small patch of expose wires and grab them with my Jacker Gauntlet sending a Trojan malware into the fortress's System, the Trojan disguised as a legitimate command causes the fortress to uplink with my server Metsuboujinrai.Net which is part of Zea. Sending data packets from Zea to Snowspire's system I take control of the fortress.

2. Contacting Vulcan I ask him if he upgrade Zea's signal and hard drives.

3. I give Torix permission to use my revelation points.

You attempt to take control of the fortress control systems, but find yourself hindered by the Godmodder's antivirus programs as they block the data packets from going through! A rude message is sent back to Satellite Zea...
The Godmodder: You're gonna need to try a little bit harder than that to completely take control of the systems. Heh.

Vulcan, despite his offensive capabilities, can't exactly do that kind of stuff. Even if he did understand the technology, he'd be pretty useless without some kind of assistance here or Player Power due to the complexity of the system. He can try, though!

Thanks! I've already upgraded the Alchemiter a ton, and I'll keep using these things appropriately! Let me know if there's any specific uses for these coming up that you want, or I'll just use them how I see fit to help you guys. Alright?

I first make Party Rapier && Epithet: Barrier
Then I use my remaining 2 actions to move to the room Alastair is in

Inventory: Oarred Longship, Blossom Bow, Shuriken Staff, Purple Dragon Belt, Paint Set, Party Rapier , Halberd Musket, Stabbing Cart, Solar Bat, Viking's Cannon Halblade, Tranquilizing Flintlocks

Party Rapier && Epithet: Barrier:
[LVL 7 - 30000 Grist] Barrier Blade:
A blade glowing orange with the power of Barrier. Can be used to create an Attack Shield once a turn, deflecting from the next oncoming attack!

You move to the same room Alastair is in!

While I speak, I use my three Actions to give myself a single Boot. This is completely important.

"By this, do you mean that if I don't surrender you'll take me to the Godmodder?" I ask amicably. "Because there is something I do wish to discuss with him! And I really would appreciate the help."

You have obtained a boot of extreme importance!

The Guards are unfortunately whisked away to another room through Paradox's turn, making conversation impossible!

I check the map. Deciding that a confrontation with the Godmodder wasn't quite needed right away, I stow away the boot and proceed up the stairs to Floor 2 using one of my Actions.

I wave at Paradox as I enter. "Oh, hey there! Been a while! Want to help me deal with the situation in Room 2? I've got this neat chemical I picked up that responds well to heat, but I only have enough Actions this turn to get there and deploy it. I'd need someone else to apply the heat."

Storing the Boot, you head up to floor 2 and talk to Paradox!

Paradox, still under Stealth responds by conjuring a note with the following typed out in front of himself.

"It's been a while indeed. And sure, I'll help apply the Heat to the chemical."

... Come to think of it, it has been a while. 10 years or so, if I'm remembering this right...
Now isn't the time to reminisce about that, though... got actions to respond to. OK.

Firstly, I look towards the guards with an awkward grin, scratching my head as I walk over to the other corner of the room with the sedated steps of some science guy being payed by the hour. Arriving at a closed crate, I yawn, and stretch a little, before behind over (still scratching my head, now with tiny flakes of white like dandruff or something falling off- they're actually bits of hastily-formed glyphic magic, but it helps sell the illusion) and reading something off the crate. I check another couple at a relaxed pace, opening one, glancing inside and closing it again, then nod to the guards, scratching my head a final time- and activating the glyphs I carved in my head (yes, it's perfectly safe, it's like poking yourself with a fingernail- the impressions will vanish when the Mana runs out.), stopping in place.
The Guards, on the other hand, see something different. Projected from myself(with my actual body covered in a visual cloak), they see a 'scientist' continue from the nod and say "Everything seems to be in order- those darn players must not have infiltrated here yet. checking might have been a waste- they don't seem the sort for subterfuge. Bye, and Hail the lord supreme" (the lord supreme was a phrase used by guards earlier, when alastair went to room 3 on page 13), before walking back to his post- or rather, into the long hallway, at which point they lose sight of the illusion. By that point, though, I'm already crouched carefully behind one of the crates.
Secondly, while the Guards are distracted by the illusion, I pull the lid off one of the Crates. lots of the crates are open already, so the less then intelligent guards shouldn't notice anything amiss; hunched over on the floor, I quietly use the Gauntlet to scrawl the appropriate siphon glyphs onto the wood. Wood isn't the best mana-conducting material, of course, but this isn't exactly masters paper level work either. soon enough, it's prepared, and when the guards are next slightly-distracted, I pulse a bit of mana into the illusion glyph and dart over to the bottom-right corner of the room invisibly, leaving myself out of their sight. I quickly lid the bottom-rightmost crate.
Thirdly, before the grist-siphon effect gets too much speed, I unlid the crate and curl up inside of it before relidding it, allowing myself to hide while the Grist levels around the room start rapidly dropping. Naturally, I don't just sit idly by- while the Guards will hopefully not think to check this crate, or maybe- correctly- discern I was the scientist, then- incorrectly- assume I left something to do this earlier and chase the illusion- they might happen upon the course of action I don't want. So, I carve more Glyphs into the Crate. mostly smoke and mirrors to give me a chance to make a break for it, but some types of magic have deleterious effects on nearby technology. I mostly stay away from those, but this time I add a few of them into the crate too. a sort of mystic smoke-bomb with machine-nulling properties, if they Do happen to attack me.
<Summary: I use an illusion and regular old acting to trick the guards into thinking I was inspecting the room for AG sabotage, then left. Afterwards, I spend 1 action to set up the grist-siphon in a crate in the corner, then hide inside the crate while adding various defences/distractions to the crate in case they follow up.>

You send an illusion off into the hallway, where the guards lose sight of it. Alastair and Paradox notice it at the time, but they seem to have other stuff on their hands anyways and probably aren't too worried about right now.

Anyways... back to the matter at hand. The guards resume an idle discussion while simply guarding the entrance, believing that everyone has left. Hiding in the bottom-right-most crate, you set up the Grist Syphon and set up various defenses to use! Acting quickly, you're capable of gaining all the Grist in the room, bringing your total Grist count to a massive 230,000 and Precious Grist up to 6000! Thank god the guards are looking the other way for now...

Preview: Shrunken Soul && Loads of Different Kinds of Glyphic Magic:
[LVL 16 - 1.3 Million Grist, 20,000 Precious Grist] Shrunken Glyphic Soul:
A soul engraved with many different kinds of glyphs, allowing it's bearer to gain a permanent 30,000 Player Power boost on any action related to Grist as long as the soul is in their possession. Additionally, still provides 1 additional action, as the other Shrunken Soul did.

With a nod of gratitude, I proceed to Room 2 with my Second Action and then deploy the 'Expando-Stuff Capture Gel' with the third onto the guards! Got some of it when I was exploring a particularly inventive take on the idea of 'Portal 3' that a Player had made at some point.

Still feel wary around industrial flame vents because of it. At any rate whent he heat is applied it rapidly expands, often engulfing they enemy target due to body heat, and then it contracts and hardens, leaving them immobilized. Very handy, and haven't headed to anywhere without some since.

Deploying the Expando-Stuff Capture Gel and moving to Room 2, the gel explodes and captures the two drones in the area, causing them to be Restrained and unable to move for the turn!

Illusory Reality Beam[Lv 2] Creates Hardlight Illusions, Paradox Wand[Lv 4], creates Minor paradoxes, All in One[Lv 3], actually has a tool for any purpose.Chromatic Shurikens[Lv 7] Does damage type based on colour. Aspected Multitool[Lv 8] Controls the 12 Aspects.

(x2)Aspected Multitool)(Chromatic Shurikens) Invoking Time to speed up my actions, I then invoke the Aspect of Light to analyse the Expando-Stuff Capture Gel's Make up before using Void to make more of it. I then invoke Space for the next trick after making sure Alastair and myself are not near the open door. E=MC^2, and a tiny bit of the Gel is turning into pure Energy, normally, this would result in a huge explosion, and it does!! But, invoking Life in its form of Energy/Motivation/Atmosphere in a literal sense, I convert the Kinetic Energy from the explosion into more Heat for the Gel. I then invoke Doom just to make sure everyone inside is fully covered and nobody can get away.

I then toss the Chromatic Shurikens in red hot into the room to continue the heating of the Gel.

(x1)I take a peek, if the Guards have all been safely captured, I enter the Room.

Gel expands into the room, utterly destroying both drones inside due to the combo attack as their internal fans overheat, expanding the gel into their inner circuitry! You and Alastair both get 7000 Grist as the entire room opens up, allowing you to see another vaguely important symbol glowing on one of the computer! It appears that before the forces got wiped out in this room, this is where the drones that had been assailing you all were coming from... and strangely enough, a secondary rather important terminal is there. Seems like it'd be a smart idea to do something here...

(Focus): I Fly around the Fortress and begain to look for any glowing weak spot and/or lock on indacators. I then spotted some important glowing vents along the so I decide to go in a strafing run while barrel rolling to avoid incomig fire.

Entering in through the glowing vents, you end up in Room 2 of Floor 2 and greeting a fairly surprised Alastair and Paradox! You're represented on the board by the red GA token.

Inventory: Oarred Longship, Blossom Bow, Shuriken Staff, Purple Dragon Belt, Paint Set, Party Rapier , Halberd Musket, Stabbing Cart, Solar Bat, Viking's Cannon Halblade, Tranquilizing Flintlocks

I use 2 actions to walk up the stairs and enter Floor 2, Room 2, before using my Solar Bat to smash the large batteries in the room.

Barreling into the room, you smash the terminal within the room and deal significant damage! The entire fortress goes through another set of massive shudders before the lights go off - and for longer than a few seconds this time. It appears the lights are permanently off here - which isn't really a problem for you guys, as you all can still see perfectly fine between either natural darkvision in the case of Paradox or other tools for the rest of you...

Anyways. Fortress. Serious damage again.
-500,000 HP! The Fortress can no longer create Guards or Drones to fight outside!

I spend two of my actions to move my Arwing into room 5 and spend my last point to prepare for a barrel roll away from any threat present in this room.

Bit fast there, man. You're still in Room 2 with the others - try moving again after this EoTB is done. Sorry.

End of Turn Battle -
The guards, finally moving with some convictive purpose, all make it to the Upper Hallway and stand at the ready! It appears that some of the talk of intruders has finally reached through, making them paranoid. They figure they'll have a better chance in a group, at least...

Everyone here gains 10000 Grist!
