Round... 66. I think.
- Location
- West Coast
I blink. that was a pretty near eternal moment. Whatever. I wave my hand off in the direction of the Pebbletopia platform, and the pieces jump forwards to account for the progress that occurred in the... 'gap'. I believe it was Astrecs turn?
...also, the biosuit's specials forgot to uptick.
Phoning in the Facility, I mention that more drones are needed. Problematic, I know, but that 40th entity is still present. 10work points spent, summoning 2, and 2 clones! they pick up the weapons the others left off.
Glancing at the Iron Prince's projection, I shrug. "Not knowing why you're here doesn't matter that much to me at the moment. I'm not exactly fighting you."
"...Say. completely unrelated to all this, but... do you know the coordinates where The Cake was first sighted? I've had 'a thought'."
Action 1) Raising a hand, I remember eons past and yet so recently future. unsheathing the Circadian Circuitbreaker, I move forwards rapidly towards Entity 40, avoiding their every move with finesse just a shade beneath perfection, with a tempo just a bit maladjusted. I remember fighting someone else in a single slash of distant past or perhaps future, but I remember the same some million times over with every sort of variation. And there are similarities enough to fall into the pattern, though both fighters be so very much lesser. Duck, step left, cut. dart back a moment, jump. twist past a malformed swing and land behind, focus the blade and bite deeply into the side- but not too deeply. pull back, lean away from the pained reaction. slash at the arm as it swings past, and bring up a shielded leg to knock them off balance, kick off and create distance. let them waste their energy, ducking and weaving every-which-way,and leave 'marks', if the battle draws on long enough. death by a thousand cuts, of course, but also a coup de grace if the world allows; a mark for teleportation and be suddenly gone, then appear behind them for a shining slash. Still, This time I have not enough power to stop them, so instead at that final slash the red coats the foe and time locks itself around them, trapping the entity to delay them.
<TL;DR: Whittle down Entity 40 to leave it open for a time charge-based stunning effect for the round. This also is intended to do an incredibly small amount of damage, increased to 16,000 damage by the -armor.>
Action 2) as the battle ends for the moment, I sense my body and grimace. Wounded... If there was just something Alive to bleed I could fix that in an instant, but I can't. Not nearly so well... Still, I place a weary hand upon the injured sector of my torso, and some faint green-yellow light pulses over it, removing the corruptive influence so as to allow it to heal over some time.
Action 3) Lastly, I lift the Exotic Crystal and use it as a focus for energy, a sort of infinitely-inferior version of the binding stone of the not-dragon from earlier, in order to summon three exotic elemental spirits- one of fyre, one of wagda, and one of durt. Weak, but projected from an item and not a targetable entity.
ENTITY ORDERS: 2Drones attack with the hypersaber, neutron edge. a clone uses the hollow unbreakable katana, all targetting Entity 40. another clone attacks without a weapon, doing about 24,000 damage. The exotic elemental spirit of fyre attacks entity 40 for a bit over 16,000 damage. the exotic elemental spirit of wagda attacks entity 40 seperately for a bit over 16,000 damage. the exotic elemental spirit of durt finishes the sequence off by attacking entity 40 itself for a bit over 16,000 damage.
"What's this, a quiz? Where do you think Thanos was fought?"
Lacking arms to swing, Entity 40 actually acquires a pair from your actions. Despite this new development, you successfully disrupt their defense. 3 Damage to Entity 40. Stunned for 2 rounds(counting this one). 6 Temporal Energy Charges used, Tesseract Belt Drained.
Exotic Crystal used. New Elementals created. Orders given to existing entities!
"...Interesting. A white Hand of Judgement?" he says. "...That's new."Astrec holds out his hand, glowing white.
"You wouldn't happen to know anything about this, would you, Prince? A shadowy figure and a pillar of blinding light haunt my dreams, as do they seemingly with some of my allies. I have my own theory, but perhaps you know something about this, with your all knowing wisdom."
A syringe emerges from the Godarm, and injects some nanites into Astrec, healing him. If he's already healed, he just charges three CP. He readies himself for a fight against the remaining entity... Also, a drone takes some flesh samples from the Dark God's corpse.
"(Harkener, can I have the Thistle of Zillywich and my Ankh back, please?)"
You restore 4 hp to yourself.
The Dark God's body is completely gone. The only evidence the he even existed in the first place is the sheer damage he's caused, and the streams we have of his destruction.
Harkener holds the Ankh up by the chain. "The symbol of Death herself, replicated by a cosmic mill..." He tosses it over to you.
#AdAstraAdrasta
#RyftWell, it seems that I'm now getting messages that this thread is more than 31 days old, and that continuing to post here may be considered spam.
For those of you not in the discord server, you all deserve an update as to what's going on right now:
I'm having problems with my ability to focus on getting things done.
I seem to have entered yet another involuntary hiatus, and that really sucks
I really want to get this story out. I really do. I hate that I can't keep at this game, because I truly do want this to become a reality
I will be continuing to try muster the energy to continue doing DTG. This is not the end.
#℧I've finally managed to finish the update.
To the Sufficient Velocity Mods:
I am sorry for what seems to be reviving what is a dead thread once again.
I suppose I will be updating next Thursday, or at the very least putting an update skeledop there.
Thank you all for waiting, and I'm sorry that things have gone this way.
In addition, as of this round, I am going to discourage the creation of Artifacts. There are like 40 of them on the field right now, I think that's a bit much and I'm not entirely sure what to do with them right now. I feel that they might be detracting from the gameplay experience I wish to present, so in the meantime, try to make less, alright? Thanks.
Branches grow into the patches of missing Light, forming a lattice of mathematical curves and patterns. 17,000 Light restored.I blinked. Woah, what happened...
(x3)Either way, a Universe is damaged and that's probably not a good thing, I call upon the powers of Sakkakh, producing plenty of Healing Wooden Tendrils from the Wooden Shield surrounding the Universe to begin patching it up a bit.
((IMO, I don't feel like this action is enough to do large numbers of healing. Do contact me if you think this number should be bigger, I'm trying to work out balance at the moment.))
"we are absolutely willing to have a parley," says the Second Praetorian. "the question is whether you possess the authority to do so"Smirk reactivates his communicator, and begins to speak to P2. "Looks like the Dark God was defeated. Still feel like that was too close, but it worked out this time, at least. In any event, do you recall my request for a parley with Alethea? I will find a location to set for a nonviolent discussion, but I need to know if she will be willing to attend if I do before I begin setting it up."
He then moves to a cluster of wrecked drones. As he floats around, he finds a segment that seems particularly large. It then suddenly begins to bend and reshape into a a large circular platform. He then floats over and stands on what one would best describe as the floor of the platform, and reaches out his hand. Various metals, mainly silvery in color, begin to pour out of the nearby drones, looking like cords of liquid metal. These cords all flow towards his hand, and then begin to form a relatively small staff with a sharp point at one tip. The other side appears to be almost funnel like in shape, with a nearly flat square at the end.
Already, the drone-attack ships are corroding into Voidstone. Taking the best bits of metal, you make yourself a staff.
Before I can stop you, you throw and detonate a massive explosion directly in the Godmodder's face. Even from where you are, you can feel the void around you getting warmer.Hum a meta-data damage has wiped the memory of Hungry visitor 0 (!) - Hungry visitor undefined.
Error Report: Massive [being too late] of the game master. Volatile Memory can't handle that shit.
To reform all the Hungry visitors form into a giant mech and calibrate the weaponry systems on the Godmodder.
Missiles upon missiles, the gaps between missiles are filled out by invisible lasers that invisible because they are strong enough to set people on fire that are watching this planet from another planet. The discharge of the active cooling system leave the space behind the bot in a turbulent storm that sends lightning everywhere. Then the big explosion happens.
...
yes it is still going on.
...
no it won't stop.
...
Calibration complete.
After a good minute of continued explosions, the systems are calibrated. Wait is that a giant bomb?
"Hostile."
The DAI bombs the giant Hungry Visitor mech for attempting to steal the bomb.
But the mech just stops the exploding bomb in time, throws it at the godmodder and then releases the stopped time.
yea I guess this is a big explosion.
The resulting fireball stays suspended in the centre of The Godmodder's fleet. Spitting out the Second Praetorian, three eyes float to the surface of the newly-manifested Fire Elemental: One blue, one yellow, one grey.
As the ships clear away, Ixis Mageye moves to engage The Godmodder and two of her Praetors.
Oh thank goodness.
[???] Ixis Mageye. 300/300 Hp. 33 Armour.
[GM] The Godmodder. 49/80 Hp.
[PG] The Second Praetorian. 17/80 Hp. 10 Armor. Worf'd. [A] The Axe. Strong Power. Control over Fire?
[PG] The Fourth Praetorian.
The Third Praetor watches all of this unfold.
"You see this? That's exactly what I'm talking about. I don't want to see any of you pulling stuff like that near populated areas."
You heal yourself for 3 Hp.I have the drones hunker down and hold their positions.
In my ship, I focus and administer healing to myself.
Neither I, my ship, nor my entities will interact with the dancing soldiers.
"We shall see."Astrec laughs.
"We aren't stopping here. We will defeat you, prince. I may respect you, and your end goal is worthy, but this war must not go on. We will defeat you."
Sidequest Permission Granted!Nerà asks his two companions if they are ready to take off. Regardless of their responses, he proceeds with explaining the plan.
The enemy invasion has begun to overwhelm the numerous-but-limited skeletal and magical forces the empire keeps within the walls of its nation's cities in the prime material plane, and have even managed to reach the heart of the empire. Their technology is defeatable, but with difficulty from our forces. What we need to do is split the amount of work for our forces to deal with.
Off the table are the divine planes (a common enemy would allow them to unite: too dangerous), the feywild courts (we don't want to aggravate them), Mechanus and the dragons (who are currently occupied), the farland and farsea nations and any occupants of the astral plane.
Instead, we should try and invite some of the other larger factions to this brawl. Both the dwarves and the unserdark's denizens are valid warrior factions. The untamed monsterwilds aren't united enough to make any move against us, but if we can trick any enemies into their territory the monster will certainly attack them. Lastly, the Red Rebellion is perfectly capable of attacking anywhere we allow them to teleport their armies into, as proven before. If we lower our defences in the right places, we can hopefully trick them into joining this fight for good, making a three-way that should eventually fall into our favour.
Bringing all of these factions into the battle appropriately will require a mixture of politics and brute manipulation, and juggling these will be our primary challenge. I plan on calling on other allies (and hopefully some of our new voidic friends) to aid us in our new quest. Your jobs to begin with will be disclosed shortly. First, though, I have something that must be done...
Sidequest start!(?)
Nerà spends their round's actions casting crown of stars on both companions, providing both with a few floating fireballs that they can throw at enemies as a bonus action.
This is an activity available to all players.
Ishmael nods slowly, and raises a hand. "Question: Where do we need to go, and what do we need to say?"
You cast Crown of Stars, granting them further damage buffs!
Entity 40 is stunned.
The Pipe Orcan plays three high-pitched notes at Entity 40, dealing 27 Damage total.
I don't think anyone else ordered any entities, so this round is finally over.
