Minor Character Sheet fix: Recompose's buff level effects should be +10% healing for every buff level, it's currently listed as having Guiding Hand's effect.

RP:
Lentinula tries to do... something. There's a whirl of glittering dust around her... and a puff of purple smoke whirls around her, whatever she was trying to do registering as Meditation and leaving her vulnerable.
LENTINULA: O-oh crap
Vulnerable specifically to the Predator that knocks her to the ground.
Hazily aware of the Gorged that does NOT eat her, she is finally revived by Pardon
[response to Pardon here?]

She flutters back up into the air, swaying a bit.
LENTINULA: ...Something strange is going on here...
She seems... surprisingly unperturbed by nearly dying. And quickly gets to trying to help everyone manage to not die as before.
LENTINULA: I-i'll be fine Chi! Get the airship down!

EDIT:
She also replies to Skylar, blinking for a moment.
LENTINULA: Er, thank you.
LENTINULA: I-it... sure seems like I need it huh.

Battle Action:
After being revived by Pardon, Lentinula moves up a tile to take advantage of High Ground's range boost, and casts Recompose with all 8 of her Decay stacks, targeting, benefitting from zen ribbon's increased power (15 HP healed for each thing instead of just 9). Targets are:
Sakura
Eroa
Chi
The friendly Splinter Spitter
Des x2
Ilex x2
Des and the splinter spitter get guardian on top of the HP and bonus SHP

Then after her spellcast Lentinula retreats back to the tile she started on

Battle: RIP Fairy Friend

Several things happen in rapid succession.

First: The Screamer talks. Or, well, a voice that did not sound like the rest of the voices, some hissing thing she can only barely hear. She tries to turn towards the source but she doesn't get a chance to respond-this battle is so chaotic!

Second: The Predator she was just next to (wasn't Alicia supposed to be where that Zombie is?) blitzes out and goes to town on various smaller allies, culminating in that adorable fairy person getting a nasty claw and hitting the deck, dead or close to it.

Third: her brilliant idea mostly goes up in smoke as the Bileprincess just decides to kamikaze rush her instead of just attacking from a distance. She flings herself behind the Teleporter Node and barely avoids the blast, but Robin gets smacked by a ton of Thyme Matter. Three Iti barrel out onto the deck-she barely registers one more falling to their doom.

Fourth: The whale returns and almost literally spits out something that made that Bastion shelling the ship look like a weenie in comparison. Actual plating, two massive weapons, a warrior's composition, this was no mere mindless brute, no siree!

And then it spoke. Clear, coherent speech with a definite source.

The first step to establishing the free exchange of goods and services to sapient peoples: diplomacy. And the first step to diplomacy: figuring out what is going on. This was as close as it got!

"HEY! YOU! THE ONE WITH THAT GIGANTIC BOW!" Maria yells, hopeful that loudness will make up for distance. "WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING?! WE WERE LITERALLY JUST TRYING TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON! WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING US?! WE DON'T WANT TO ATTACK YOU!"

... The odds this single action instantly ends the battle? Nil! The giantess almost certainly looks like she'll beat up someone because it looked fun, but she was probably the only person who spoke in complete coherent sentences. (The Screamer was almost there!) If she got even a scrap of information, then she'd be the MVP, and the MVP gets more money.

Robin the Splinter Spitter acts before Debbie, and anyone else attacking the Predator. Robin scoots up a little to Q14 and promptly scans the Predator... Or, does a close approximation of 'scanning' the Predator in the only way a spider with no opposable thumbs or fingers can: suppressive fire, deliberately firing an attack that the Predator can see and dodge... By forcing it to back up into the wall, effectively pinning it there, allowing everyone else to hit a lot cleaner. Rudimentary pack hunting tactics, go! (This is in fact scanning, not a basic attack, but how else do I flavor this?)

Meanwhile, Maria will activate another Evolve Strain (now putting her into negative regen even with Auth's help) and then pull a Basic Attack on the Inciter. Rolling in the Deep triggers, healing Robin for some chip HP.

Meanwhile, some NPC orders roll in.

After Doc moves out of the way, Bass will move to T18 and use Flirt the maximum of three times, dropping pickup lines on the Hounds so awful they pull Wile E. Coyote routines and flee off the side of the airship, only to then notice the lack of ground under them, fall to their dooms, before inexplicably slamming down back onto the Airship merely unconscious instead. Bass then uses his actual action to scan the not-Eliti ???.

Following this, R-8733 will trip over the Gorged (or their bodies) to move to Q16 and get the mysteriti just in range of his basic attack before letting loose a firework at it directly, selecting the property to move targets two spaces. The small blast only does so much damage to the fire-resistant Iti, but the resulting shove will put it two tiles east-and over the abyss, causing it to fall to their doom before inexplicably slamming down back onto the Airship merely unconscious instead.

i didnt make the rules on this i swear

super lepidodendron 64 will feature the wing cap and the Skull Cap. choose wisely

QUOTE

Debbie nods at Lepidodendron after closing her conversation with Doc.

DEBBIE: I see. Certainly an... unorthodox reason.
DEBBIE: Perhaps if you no longer have a use for some of them, I can look them over.
DEBBIE: A little repairwork and they should be good enough to use again.

DEBBIE: I feel a little... tactical inspiration of sorts after watching the various undead walking around.
DEBBIE: Perhaps I could do something like that once we're on ground level...

Ah. So she's aware of the undead nature of the skeletons. Of course, the topic of royalty comes up again. Debbie, again, sternly side-eyes Sakura.

DEBBIE: (I don't blame you. But some royalty is... like that, sadly.)

She returns her focus to the topic at hand with a soft smile. Like she didn't diss Sakura just now.

DEBBIE: But yeah, no offense taken!
DEBBIE: As far as royalty goes, I'm aware of and embrace my unusuality.
DEBBIE: The "expected stuff" is boring, anyway.

DEBBIE: The royal introduction spiel gets tiring after a while too... so just call me Debbie.
DEBBIE: I believe I heard your name was Lepido... dendron?
DEBBIE: It's a tricky name to say aloud, for sure, but certainly very unique.

Lepidodendron nods, and scribbles down Debbie's name in their book.

LEPIDODENDRON: Debbie... Debbie! Alright. I'll keep it in.. brain? No, mind. I'll keep it in mind.
LEPIDODENDRON: Lepidodendron, mhm! Got it in one! People seem to have trouble pronouncing it, some times. Well, most times, really. Almost all the times even.
LEPIDODENDRON: I'm pretty they even misspelled it on the official documentation for this trip..

Lepidodendron shrugs.

LEPIDODENDRON: I'd.. welcome? Enjoy? Be up? Sure. I'd be up for lending you a skeleton or two once we've reunited with solid ground! Especially since, erm..

They survey their fallen two minions, and wince.

LEPIDODENDRON: ..they're taking a bit of a beating, right now.
LEPIDODENDRON: Gonna be a tall effort to put them all together again after this.
LEPIDODENDRON: ...hopefully none of those bones went.. starboard? Overboard! Overboard, I mean.

Lepidondendron inspects one of their fallen skeletons as they speak to Debbie, anxiously checking to see if all of it's bones are in fact, still there.

LEPIDODENDRON: (Spine, check, second spine, check, first tooth, check, second tooth, check, third tooth, check, fourth tooth, check..)

QUOTE

BASIL: Um, yes, hi!
BASIL: I am Basil Thyrsiflora, and yes, I would consider myself something like an expert on Iti.
BASIL: My thesis regards the evolutionary capabilities of Iti, so I was hoping to find some new information regarding that-

She shakes her head, as if scolding herself.

BASIL: -Oh, sorry, you probably don't care about that. As current administrator of the Codex Monstrum, I believed I knew most, if not all current species of Iti.
BASIL: After all, there is no creator to make them anymore, and it was rare for unidentified specimens to show themselves.
BASIL: However, this creature is completely unknown to me. I haven't seen anything this massive since the Netwyrm- or at least, from what I heard of it.
BASIL: I never was granted access those catacombs.
BASIL: Something of this size surely must have existed for some time.
BASIL: If not, I dread to think what was powerful enough to create such a creature.

Lepidodendron scribbles down Basil's name.

LEPIDODENDRON: Basil.. Thyrsi...Flora..
LEPIDENDRON: Is that Thyrsiflora spelled with two "i"s or just one?

The red haired Chairian listens attentively to Basil's explanation, putting a hand to their chin to think.

LEPIDODENDRON: So you think it was intentionally created by something? Er, someone. And existed for quite some time to grow to that size..
LEPIDODENDRON: But without that Chairheir around.. Maybe it just evolved from another Iti? Like, like, the Netwyrm.
LEPIDODENDRON: The Netwyrm evolved to get so big from eating the.. uh.. "
you-know-what"..
LEPIDODENDRON: I think. Maybe it just grew.. naturally? Ate a bunch of stuff?
LEPIDODENDRON: ..but grow out of what? A bunch of tiny, smaller, flying whale Iti? I didn't see any of those in the codex writeups.

Lepidodendron contemplates the terrifying idea of a bunch of tiny Harpy-sized Iti whales. They eventually shake their head.

LEPIDODENDRON: ..sorry, that doesn't really make a lot of.. connections? Logic? Sense? Not much sense.
LEPIDODENDRON: Probably.

lepidodnedron says hi to Jotun (Smart)
lepidodendron eats a lemon and dies

Before Des uses the Railcannon, Lepidodendron will Deadbolt the Bastion. On its death, the Deadbolt will ricochet to the Harmonizer.

Lepidodendron meditates.

Skylar

SKYLAR: BEEP BOP
SKYLAR:
[ACTIVATING SLEEP MODE...]

Paige

PAIGE: WIP worp.

Battle

Mo' rounds, mo' problems. There's a big Iti in front of the ship, Lentintula temporarily went down, and the Screamer doesn't like the Iti Twins. Paige falters, concerned and mostly focused on that last bit. She speaks up again.

PAIGE: ...Who told you that?
PAIGE: I'm, I wanna say you can trust me! But then again, that's what someone you couldn't trust would say...
PAIGE: ...Thanks for only casting a silence. I'm a little, er, unstable but I'd rather do things peacefully...
PAIGE: I'm sorry, we're attacking your friends 'cos they attacked us! Can you call off the attack, or something? We come with peaceful intentions, we swear!
PAIGE: ;-;

Meanwhile, Skylar extrudes a radar dish, swivels it around a bit, and then blasts Letintula with a wave of particles, allowing her slightly more durability.

SKYLAR: OUR APOLOGIES, LETINTULA
SKYLAR: IT IS GOOD TO HAVE YOU BACK IN THE FIELD
SKYLAR: IT WOULD BE A SHAME IF SOMETHING HAPPENED TO YOU

Skylar seems blissfully unaware of how freakin' creepy and threatening this sounds in a robotic monotone.

-----

Battle actions:
Fuck it. We ball. Paige and Skylar burn their entire stockpile of Luck, giving Lentintula 8 bonus SHP. Then they slappy Gorged1 with both attacks in their basic attack.

Doc: If I'm going to find a breakthrough because of these unusual Iti, I'm going to need to collect a few samples.
Doc: Perhaps it's time for me to put this syringe to use.

Doc stabs the Predator and the Gorged1, the syringe spraying multicolored fluid on the Gorged.

Doc: Now I need a sample of your blood, to see how it's reacting...
Doc: ...Ah. My syringe isn't quite long enough.
Doc: I suppose I can settle with a sample from this one.

Doc withdraws his syringe, taking a chunk of the Predator with it.

Now, presumably, at some point, Bass is going to try to move into Doc's space to start messing with the Iti nearby. So Doc responds to Bass's approach.

Doc: Oh, am I in your way? Let me remedy that.

Using the Boosters, Doc retreats to U21.

Have you ever heard the tale of Godmodding?
They say that a Godmodder is a master of a universe, able to bend its laws to their whims.
They say that Godmodders are cursed to forever create their own opposition... adventurers, who crawl from the woodwork of the world to oppose the Godmodder.
But they say that there are no more Godmodders.
Unfortunately for them...

I'm still here.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you a post on behalf of Sparked, who is not able to post right now:

Eroa acts after Ilex.

TP Node to D9 > Use Allure 3 times to move Throwlem to G6 3 times aka the void killing it > jump off a cliff > respawn T22 > conditionally attack Breaker3 if Basil misses otherwise vibe or guard.

-----

Kalis acts after Basil and Eroa.

The Zombie attacks the Inciter.

If the Inciter is still alive *and* Breaker3 is somehow still alive, the U19 Fallen moves one square down and shoots it. If either is dead, it instead heals the Core.

If the Inciter is still alive, the T19 Fallen uses its 4 MOV to move across the two Boosters (1), left across T22 and S22 (3) and up to R21. Kalis then expends 2 Entropy to have it teleport to Q20, where it attacks the Inciter. If the Inciter is dead, it instead heals the Core.

Kalis casts Aerobeam! It moves diagonally to M15, hitting Kalis's own Zombie and the left Teleporter Node. Sacrifices must be made for efficient targeting. It then turns upward, hitting Cinder2, then spends the final 3 tiles of its 11 range hitting the Amphi three times (with Turning Turbulence on M11 boosting the first hit).

Battle - The Northern Skies

Blacklight glances over when he sees Lentinula get wrecked. What happens next is the more interesting part to him, though. He narrows his eyes in suspicion...

"Strange. What I know of the old Iti was that they would never pass up an opportunity like that..."

A pause.

"This needs more investigation. Who's agenda do these new ones follow?"

Then, he returns his focus to battle, turning around and looking directly at the Blossom. He regards it as one might regard a particularly esoteric piece of fine art.

"Hm... Rhiannon, if you don't mind, would you kindly donate some shielding?"

Blacklight meditates. Flavor-wise, that manifests as his form briefly flickering, revealing a jagged spire of toothlike bones twisted around some sort of blacker-than-black core...

(Reply to R-8 from Round 4)

VENT: Well, Helix must truly be a strange god to be described as an "oddball" by one of his subjects. N-n-not to insult him, of course, I've simply n-never heard such a moniker be used of a deity before.
VENT: I guess since you're not too much of a believer, this is the kind of civilization where gods are not as prevalent, t-then.
VENT: ...
VENT: D-daughter of the dictator?

Vent looks around him, noticing a few other Chairians. Particularly, a woman with bright pink foliage for hair. He looks back at R-8.

VENT: Hmm...
VENT: W-well, Mr. R-8, I thank you very much for the conversation. Getting to know this much is quite exciting. Despite the circumstances, I hope there's enough time to make some art here. Even time for a few drawings would be delightful.
VENT: Maybe you could be...
VENT: N-nevermind that.

----------------------------------------------------

Eroa acts after Ilex moves her.

Eroa uses the Teleport Node to teleport to the landing point at D9. She eyes the Throwlem.

EROA: You seem like quite the issue.
EROA: Now, won't you please come over here? So that I can solve this.

Eroa points at it, then makes a gesture towards her. Suddenly, the Throwlem feels a compulsion, to move towards her... They readily follow this new desire, completely ignoring the fact that she is on a separate island from them, separated by the void. It moves 1 tile closer, to G6, where it promptly falls down into the abyss below. Once it respawns, Eroa compels it twice more, with the Throwlem throwing itself into the void twice more, until it respawns no more. (use Allure on the Throwlem 3 times, moving it to G6 and into the void)

Eroa then observes her situation, stuck on an island. How can she fix this? Well...
Eroa moves to E9, throwing herself off the cliff. After a very long fall, she respawns at T22.

EROA: That was a very strange piece of intuition...

She then observes Basil. If Basil failed to kill Breaker3, she bashes it with her shield, but if not, she simply guards as a precaution.

<ROUND 6>

Vent finishes his conversation with R-8.

R-8733: Right-o! See you around, I guess.
R-8733: I suppose I'll... get back to work on the railcannons.
R-8733: (I wonder if the boss'll let me install incendiary cannons...)

<PRELUDE: THE NORTHERN SKIES, ROUND 6>

Final round. Make sure the ship and/or its crew don't all get blown up, and you should be golden.

I wonder what comes next. Probably the final boss.

Alicia casts Roaming Blizzard on herself, to wipe out the Screamer within its range. She doesn't think she needs to move yet.

Debbie was solemn as the Thyme Matter splashed up onto her legs. She doesn't seem to mind the burning feeling of the Thyme Matter. Or maybe she does? From her face, she certainly seems undeterred. She responds to the Mystereliti's comments about having a moment of respect for the fallen, someone called the Maker, and... a duty?

DEBBIE: ...Dr. Adria's perspective feels shallower by the moment...
DEBBIE: I wonder...

...A slight wind picks up, blowing in the direction between her and the Mystereliti. Not enough to make any difference in battle, but her words should carry better like this.

DEBBIE: So long as the fallen continue piling up, friend or foe, there will be ever more work to do.
DEBBIE: I have no doubt that you feel your duty important, as we do ours.
DEBBIE: I hope, one day, we may be able to understand one another more thoroughly.

DEBBIE: ...Alas, that day is not today, I'm afraid. I apologize.

The winds calm. Or well, calm as much as they reasonably can as she watches Des get Lepidodendron up. She gives both a satisfied nod.

---

Debbie is tempted to float over and bash Sakura over the head with words. Tempted. A single wince is all she shows for now... she'll leave the lambasting for after they land.

Pardon grumbles a bit as more Iti spawn in before doing the shuffle dance to Q22 where he Purifies the Silence off of Eroa and giving her a respectable heal with +20% from the High Ground. The resulting pouch is than eaten by Pardon again since this is the last round.

//RP

He languidly nods back at Lentinula and braces for impact.

Lepidodendron dies. Ok, not really. But they do go down hard- a Bastion's thymium missile piercing them through the chest.

They sorta lie there on the floor, gun next to them.

LEPIDODENDRON: Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow. I'm.. ok! Fine! Just in case any one was curious.

They push themselves up, holding up one harm to brace themselves- and promptly wince again.

LEPIDODENDRON: Ouchouch. Ok, maybe not fine

Luckily for them, Des throws them a ressurection. They throw them a thumbs up, despite still very obviously being wounded. With a snap of their fingers, Lepidodendron winces in pain- and a Deadbolt bullet wizzes out of the air behind them, erasing a Gazyer.

LEPIDODENDRON: Right, lots of Itima- Iti many- lots of many Iti..fine
LEPIDODENDRON: .let me try that again. Lots of iti on the ship! Yeah. Yep. fine

Sakura proceeds to mishear- well, properly hear. Lepidodendron gives her a quizzical look, before a smile appear so

LEPIDODENDRON: That's.. not what.. I..
LEPIDODENDRON: Oh. Sakura, you haven't heard of Itima?
LEPIDODENDRON: You didn't even hear that Highchair member Cypress died of Itim- ACK

Lepidodendron proceeds to double over midsentence, their wounds re-catching up with them before they can epically own Sakura. Sakura is left extremely confused as Lepidodendron falls over in front of them.

Lepidodendron groans on the floor.

LEPIDODENDRON: probably shouldn't have.. used that right after.. being revived.

--
AFTER BASIL AND AFTER BEING REZZED BY DES

Lepidodendron, after being revived, will move to (R16). They will cast Deadbolt on the Gazyer, then shoot it with a Basic Attack.

When the Gazyer dies, Deadbolt will recast to the Edges (if its alive), Chimes (if its alive), or the Bileprincess (if its alive). If none are alive, Deadbolt dissipates.

Last round response to Paradox that I meant to do before the update:
Lentinula slowly drifts up off the ground, then suddenly shoots back up to her regular height
LENTINULA: A-ah!
LENTINULA: ow...
LENTINULA: Th-thank you, P-pardon...

Responding to Ire:
Lentinula glares at Sakura last round after being rezzed, and flings a chunk of ice. Well, more of a snowflake thing that poffs in Sakura's face to express displeasure without doing any harm.
She rubs her shoulders. Field magic doesn't remove healing aches as well as the better methods back home but it's better than being dead.
LENTINULA: Well excuuuuuse me, princess!
LENTINULA: If you're actually interested and you're not just being a brat, I can answer when we're NOT under attack anymore.

Responding to Chi:
Lentinula immediately realizes what Chi's planning to do, and tries to amplify her voice to be heard over the din as the ship continues to drop lower.
LENTINULA: E-everyone brace for impact!
She starts to blur a bit, preparing to do another dash around the deck.
LENTINULA: Chi, go ahead and send us down, I'll grab the wounded before we hit!

During Lepido's turn (in rp at least) they "eat a lemon and die". As a result, Lepido is, rp-wise, picked up by Lentinula in the following action. This will be a surprise tool that will help nobody later.

Battle Action:
This takes place after... everyone else except R8 I think?
The ship is about to crash, it's time for battlefield evac: Lentinula sprints, triggering her trait! (6 MOV)
NOTICE: All corpses lentinula moves past will be picked up, just in case someone downs in an unexpected way. I'll hopefully list all of them properly here.
Where she is Lentinula immediately has access to the nondescript corpse at Q17, as well as Breaker2 and the Predator. (9 MOV)
She moves Northwest one tile and picks up the inciter (9 MOV left)
She darts up to R14, using 3 more movement, and then picks up any among the screamer, chimes, and edges which are down. (7-9 MOV left)
Then she swooshes down to U16 for another 3 movement and picks up 3 seeker corpses, the ??? corpse, three hounds, breaker4, and the raider. (13-15 MOV left)
She slides to the right one tile and picks up Harpy1 (13-15 MOV left)
Then down to U22 for another 6 tiles of movement to pick up Harpy6 and breaker3. (9-11 MOV left)
Then back up to R19 for 3 more movement to pick up the Gazyer. (7-9 MOV left)
Then spending 5 more MOV to get up to M15 and pick up as many of the cinders as have left corpses, plus the Arkwind. (4-8 MOV left).
And finally she flutters 4 tiles down south to fly alongside the airship as it goes down, hopefully out of range of getting smacked.

(takes 10 MOV from cinders to throwlem and nondescript corpse)
All together this gives up to 24 Decay

Eroa moves to V18, then casts Abduction on the Chimes, moving it to W18.

Kalis acts after Pardon and before Basil, Skylar & Paige, and Lepidodendron.

Kalis casts Aerobeam! It travels two tiles left, down to P23, and then right to W23, hitting the Observer and the entire Petal row.

Kalis's Zombie moves to P19 and attacks the Observer.

The Fallen heal the Core.
