Hey all you nerds and nerdettes. It's been a while since I've posted here much. So... partly on a whim, I decided to make this game. This is mostly a test for me to see if I can manage a DTG game and if I enjoy it, while also to test out some ideas I've had. Expect this to be a pretty short game, if it finishes at all, that is. With that out of the way, welcome to Destroy the Snobmodder.

Look at the second post for rules and stuff.

Most Recent EOTB

The Deviant Shipping Crate looks around in fear and anger, realizing that humanity hates its very existence and it can never integrate with any kind of society. Something like that. Standard procedure for NPCs to not attack on their first turn of existence. Though, it also gets demoted a few places down the turn order. I'm realizing that player aligned entities should probably attack first.

Harry is best at physical attacks, because Rogue boosts his physical damage. But he can still attack without direct violence. And suddenly, he is gone. There's another perk of being a rogue. Who needs invisibility spells when you can vanish into the underbrush? He comes back a little while later, holding a rapier, one quite similar to Victor's, although clearly much older, with many, many more scars, scratches, and dents in it. He leans on it like a cane and whistles to get Victor's attention.

"Hey Vicki, you should probably watch your old stuff better. I remember when you used this back in Mali. Good times, really."

Realizing what he is holding, Victor gets a dangerous look in his eyes and walks up to Harry, blade drawn.

"Disrespectful brat! That sword has seen more glory than you ever will!"

Harry pulls the sword from the ground and makes a show of looking it over and running his finger along the dull and dented blade.

"You saying that our time together had no glory? Hm. Fitting, really."

"It did once you abandoned us. Now return that!"

Victor lunges towards Harry, but he ducks under his arms and dances out of reach.

"No no no! Remember your manners!"

Resigning himself to be unable to catch Harry, Victor stands up straight to hold some authority and holds out his open hand.

"I'm not going to negotiate with the likes of you. Now give it back."

Looking down in sarcastic disappointment, Harry holds the sword by the hilt and starts reaching towards putting it in Victor's palm.

"Oh fine. You never were any fun."

But in an instant, he feints an attack at Victor, making him finch and step back. And in that moment, he hurls the sword like a javelin, letting it sail through the air past Victor.

"You'll need one more expedition to get it back!"

Once he gets back to his senses, Victor turns to watch where it lands, clenching his teeth in anger. But when he turns back to yell at Harry, he's gone.

...

You know, maybe all these RP scenes I write with myself are why updates take so long. This is an attack that would have gotten a creativity boost, but I'm not a player and don't reward myself with that kind of thing. So... Victor takes 5,500 Spirit damage.

The Sha of Rage gets Victor to play a simple maze game. It's so fun! All you do is move the little red square to the end. I'm sure nothing bad could happen. Surprise, it's a JUMPSCARY!!! Victor takes 3,000 spoop damage.

The Deviant Shipping Crate, now in the correct turn order, still does nothing.

Anna rips some wires out of the lights around the shipping yard and plugs them into her Tesla rod, causing it to spark and surge with power, then she leaps at Harry, sending several thousand volts through him with a corresponding several thousand damage. Five and a half thousands, to be exact.

Extremely spooped, Victor freaks out for perfect Youtube bait, stabbing the computer and the Sha of Rage. Maybe don't show that last part on the web though. Well, he levels up. Yay. Gee, I sure do wonder if he's going to live long enough to use his new special attack. I do wonder.

Being the Snobmodder's turn, he takes a moment to laugh, mostly because he gets to use his annoying whistle again, dealing another 1,000 damage to all entities, including his chair, which I forgot to account for last turn. This time though, there does seem to be something happening. Off far in the distance, you can hear a faint sound, one of snarling and soft roars.

There is no particularly grand entrance, but in time you see them, raptors, the kind made famous by a certain line of movies. They're running towards the battle, with a look of odd contentment. There's one at the head of the park, bigger than the rest, and colored a strange dull pink. This was their queen, with a regal, headdress like pattern of feathers upon her head and back. And as she got closer, you could see that there was a peculiar light in her eyes, one that no simple beast held. It was a... hungry type of light, one that was always searching, looking for something. This creature seemed more intelligent than it looked.

The adorned dinosaur walked up to the Snobmodder, a kind of joyful bounce in her step, and bowed her head in a greeting of some kind.

"My reason has tamed even these savage creatures, there is no bound to my unbridled mind!"

Harry, however, looks quite confused.

"Wait, you... how?! This thing was in a cage in London! Who did you pay, and how much?"

The Snobmodder chuckles at that.

"My intellect has saved more than you can claim to have helped. You never did consider those who ended up worse from your 'expeditions'."

Either way, there's now a rather flamboyant pink dinosaur and her little pack here, ready to mess somebody up.

I'm going to try and keep it relatively simple for this. I'll reintroduce the mood mechanic, mostly because I feel like my problem was that I didn't make it obvious enough. Plus, in the original game, this fight is based around that heavily, so that's nice. Some quick explanations of the fight...

First, the Queen is surprisingly emotional. So basically she's Wilson 2.0. Different attacks will set her into different emotions, which will influence how she fights. Like Wilson, I'll use Plutchik's Wheel to determine these. So, Joy, Trust/Admiration, Fear, Surprise, Sadness, Anger, and Pride (well technically anticipation, but that's not a very interesting emotion).

Second, The Queen's Flair does not charge normally. It charges when the PS side exploits the mood advantage.

Finally, each of the other raptors act in different ways as well, favoring one of the three moods.

Hopefully this will work out. FIGHT!

Welcome to O(N^N)! Pronounced, "O of N to the N".

This is my attempt at making an RPG, so you guys better enjoy it. You can call it Chaos like, if you want. It shares many of the super basic rules of Chaos (as in, they're both turn based, semi-grid based RPGs). However, instead of using a Google Sheet for the map, I use a full 3D model in Blender. I have no idea how it will go, but that's why we're going to try it!

The Google Sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1m54...dit?usp=sharing

Here are all the animations I've made for DTG. This forum doesn't allow .gif avatars. Boo.

Wilson at the Start

This was one of my first animations with After Effects. You can probably tell because of the low framerate and somewhat conflicting art styles. The original picture is here.

Wilson at the End of DTG2

Sadly, I can't find the original image anymore. Looks like he changed quite a bit between this .gif and the last.

Edit- Wait! Found it!

Act 5 Teaser 1

Act 5 Teaser 2

Not that proud of this one.

Gail

Original art is on a page in... French located right here.

Door Teaser Thing

When she came to a set of two open doors, Gail entered the door on her left.

Cynder

Modeling my characters after actual game characters makes finding base art for them WAY easier. Original art is here

Inari

Not all wolves howl at the moon. Some howl at the sun. Sadly, this got really compressed because of .gif-ness. I could potentially upload to Youtube where their videos are not .gif files, but then it wouldn't loop.

Oh yeah, art was found right here.

Gail Sidequest Teaser Thing

When all hope seems lost, and you can't go on, there is one thing we can always do...

Give up.

Made from images found here, here, and here. This is one of my favorite animations. It turned out pretty well.

Animations Irrelevant to DTG. Mostly for my practice.

[spoiler=Mega Lucario]

Original picture by Haychel and is found here.

I picked this because I wanted to try using colorama (which is what causes the aura effects). I'm also using a new form of ripple where I set the transparency of the mask to 50 or 60%.

[/spoiler]

I don't expect anyone to comment on this. But go ahead and comment if you want. Well, if you want me to animate something, you can post that down below. I enjoy animating stuff. Plus, it's more practice. Or something.

I don't really expect anyone to post on this. This is just all of my RP stuff filtered down so that you'll hopefully be able to know everything you want in about 10 minutes. DTG has gotten so big that it's hard to keep track of characters, so I hope more people will have things like this. Anyway, here we go. Stuff will probably be filled in as I give it in game. Right now, only most of the stuff for Wilson is filled in. I want to show things about my characters, not tell.

Characters

[spoiler=Wilson]

[spoiler=Basic stuff]

Wilson was my first major RP character for anything, and I like the way he's turned out. He is a small, mostly tan white fennec fox. Sometimes, he calls himself Laiko, but read the backstory for that. He is an alchemist and ran a shop selling potions for much of the game. People tend to like him because, and I quote Engie on this, "He's not a sociopath,". He is kind and empathetic, often too much so because it makes him morn too much, even for things he had no control over. He hates the prospect of killing anything. As for his abilities, he is a Kitsune (check Wikipedia if you want) and has what he calls Grid magic, so he uses illusion, electricity, gravity, and sometimes his foxfire, which is something Kitsunes have.

Physical traits

Wilson is a fennec fox who is less than half a meter tall and half a meter or so long, counting his short tail. Due to being native to deserts, his ears look too large for his head, but not much. His eyes are lilac due to past shenanigans involving Binary. His fur is a gold tan, becoming slightly darker down near his paws and lightning into little white circles around his eyes. When he is in "Kitsune mode", his fur turns more and more golden.

Personality traits/likes and dislikes

Each of my five major RP characters are supposed to represent one virtue, but also the shadow side of that virtue. Wilson represents empathy and innocence. The shadow side of empathy is when it leaves him paralyzed over the results of these wars, otherwise known as guilt. Apart from that, he is kind, pacifist, usually quiet, prone to sudden bursts of emotion, and has a sarcastic sense of humor. He is usually introverted, focusing on thought and logic, but he sometimes shifts to being more extroverted and so becomes more playful and curious.

Due to events in his backstory, he is thanatophobic (fear of own death). Specifically, he doesn't want anyone to die and be forgotten for no reason, including himself. He also has more physical fears, like of spiders and open fires.

There are a bunch of random things that he likes, such as strawberries, swimming, black opals, alchemy, economics, and stargazing. He's also a claustro... phile? He finds being in darkness to be calming.

His basic life goal is, as simple as it sounds, to live a good life. He feels responsible for the sacrifices that others have made for him and believes that if he didn't have a good life, that would be letting both them and himself down.

History

He was born sometime around the first DTG in a lab that had been funded specifically to breed foxes to be alchemy familiars. Due to Inari's blessing, he was far beyond the researchers' expectations. Yada yada yada, stuff happens. If you want to hear about it, read this page:

http://s15.zetaboards.com/DTG_Forums/topic/8053277/1

I'll just give the important stuff. He learned a bunch of different things there. Most importantly, brewing. Near the end of DTG1, the lab was attacked by a rouge terror spider and Wilson, while fleeing, threw his most powerful splash potion at it. The potion caused a massive explosion of dark flames, causing the lab to collapse and burn down. Wilson survived, but he has always blamed himself for killing everyone inside and so changed his name from the original Laiko to Wilson in order to distance himself from it.

He wandered through the desert until [DATA UNAVAILABLE]

[DATA UNAVAILABLE]

Skip forward a year or so and he arrives to DTG2. He sets up shop, quite literally, and does some stuff and things. Then he does the DreamScape sidequest which is him combating his guilt and what not, and that turns out to have been a trial by Inari. Having passed it, he gets her full blessing and becomes a Kitsune.

More stuff happens, he eventually winds up with the IUPC group on their planet.

[DATA UNAVAILABLE]

[ERROR! DATA UNCERTAIN!]

Personal Items

He has a few random trinkets he likes to carry around with him and an enderpouch to hammerspace all the random trinkets.

He likes to carry an empty glass bottle around his neck. It's an ordinary glass bottle, but once contained a potion of soothing that he gave to Build right before Build died. Blah blah blah, something about how it represents simple kindness, blah blah blah.

Right at the end of DTG2, he also got the Kitsune Charm, which was the spoil of war given out for the Dreamscape quest. I mainly gave it to him because it seemed right to do. It doesn't work like it used to anymore because things can't be transferred through games.

Finally, he has his Hosi-no-tama, something Kitsunes have. It literally means "star ball" and looks like a pure white smooth rock and him having it is related to his powers as a Kitsune.

[/spoiler]

Willow

[spoiler=Basic stuff]

Just as Wilson is Inari's champion, Willow is Mikoto's. She is an unnaturally small enderdragon, a little bigger than Wilson. She's from the End of DTG2. She hasn't had many interactions that reveal her character apart from that she's fed up with Mikoto and wants to find Wilson for some reason. She seems to have some power over darkfire, an ability she inherited from Mikoto.

Physical traits

She is almost entirely dark purple and a little bigger than Wilson. Well, she is much longer than Wilson if you count her tail. Her eyes seem larger and her neck shorter than what was normal for enderdragons. In addition, she looks burned. Not just burned, but seared unnaturally. She is covered with small patches of glowing cinders that occasionally flare up, causing her to grimace.

Personality traits/likes and dislikes

Each of my five major RP characters are supposed to represent one virtue, but also the shadow side of that virtue. Willow represents hope, but also the shadow side of that, [DATA UNAVAILABLE]. Usually, she's optimistic, driven, heroic, and [DATA UNAVAILABLE]. She's more confrontational about what she feels is important and also tends to be somewhat sarcastic. She has introduced herself as Cynder rather than Willow.

She is, ironically, afraid of [DATA UNAVAILABLE] and [DATA UNAVAILABLE]. [DATA UNAVAILABLE]

[DATA UNAVAILABLE]

[DATA UNAVAILABLE]

[DATA UNAVAILABLE]

Due to her questionable past and being related to Ender, who, you know, tried to take revenge on humanity by releasing the Red Dragon, she becomes defensive if anyone mentions her past or questions her intentions.

She is somewhat [DATA UNAVAILABLE]. As much as she wouldn't want to admit it, it's because she enjoys the [DATA UNAVAILABLE], which [DATA UNAVAILABLE].

History

She is native to the End of DTG2, but of course, that got blown up and taken over by the Vord, which meant she [DATA UNAVAILABLE], where she eventually met Mikoto. Mikoto choose her as his champion and [DATA UNAVAILABLE] and helped her escape. He pushed her towards [DATA UNAVAILABLE] and told [DATA UNAVAILABLE]

[DATA UNAVAILABLE]

[DATA UNAVAILABLE]

Eventually, she wound up in DTG:TvT2 and started trying to find Wilson.

[DATA UNAVAILABLE]

[ERROR! DATA UNCERTAIN!]

Personal Items

She has a specially modified enderpouch that can contain not just items for hammerspace, but also sounds. So it kinda acts like a magical MP3 player that stores items.

Usually, she keeps a dark, rune ascribed scarf in her enderpouch. She hasn't taken it out yet.

[/spoiler]

Mikoto

[spoiler=Basic stuff]

Mikoto and Inari are the Veteran's two strongest companions. Also, both of them and Gail speak a different language by default. He looks like a panther and is about the size of a Minecraft wolf. He's mostly silver, like the full moon. He has a lot of connection to the moon, down to literally being named after the Shinto god of the moon. He is rather fast and has powers over dark fire and [DATA UNAVAILABLE]. He has some relation to fear, but that hasn't been elaborated much.

Physical traits

He is mostly silver colored, like the color of the full moon. Streaking down his sides were lines of blue that bled into the grey background and ran down to collect like water at his paws, where his fur was a darker blue. It was like he stepped into a pool of sapphire and the blue somehow stuck to his feet. His long tail split into two at about the two thirds mark. The entire top of his tail was tinted crimson by a river of the color starting at his upper back and running down like a cloak. His eyes were blue, like aquamarine and his ears were curved backwards into crescent shapes. On his back were slight waves or spikes of fur, somewhat similar to Justicar if anyone other than me remembers how she looked, which I doubt.

Copy and pasted from my initial description of him.

Personality traits/likes and dislikes

Each of my five major RP characters are supposed to represent one virtue, but also the shadow side of that virtue. Mikoto symbolizes [DATA UNAVAILABLE] and [DATA UNAVAILABLE].

Inari has referred to him as "evil", but whether that is true has yet to be seen. He is dark and somewhat manipulative, but is willing to fight long and hard for those he cares for. At least during DTG0, he gets along with Inari and seems to like Gail. Both him and Inari are devoted to the Veteran. Due to English not being his native language, he sometimes mixes up F and V sounds when speaking English, as well as D and J sounds.

He was then intimidated by the progress Inari's champion, Wilson, made. So, he hid Willow's existence in the effort to give her more training time and the ability to [DATA UNAVAILABLE].

[DATA UNAVAILABLE]

Once Willow arrieved in DTG:TvT2, he pressured her to go find Wilson and also spoke to Inari, seeming remorseful and asking for some vague request for [DATA UNAVAILABLE].

Inari

[spoiler=Basic stuff]

Mikoto and Inari are the Veteran's two strongest companions. Also, both of them and Gail speak a different language by default. She is about the same size as Mikoto, but looks like a wolf or jackal. She is mostly orange or dark tan, like sun baked sand. Mikoto has connections to the moon, so Inari has connections to the sun because duality. She isn't as fast as Mikoto, but is stronger. She has powers somewhat similar to what Wilson has, which includes illusions and light.

Physical traits

She was built like a wolf or jackal. She was mostly a dark tan and had blotches of ebony color rather than Mikoto's blue. And where Mikoto had crimson fur the color of blood, Inari had dark orange, the color of smoldering embers running across her face and down to her tail. Inari's tail ended in, as fitting as it sounds, a dovetail shaped wedge. Her orange eyes seemed to be constantly smoldering with trapped starlight, which they were, in a way. A slight light shown from her paws, illuminating the ground she walked on with sunlight. The patterns of orange, tan, ebony and the slightest bit of red made her look somewhat like an open flame; and when she walked, the fire rippled to life and burned softly.

Personality traits/likes and dislikes

Each of my five major RP characters are supposed to represent one virtue, but also the shadow side of that virtue. Inari symbolizes [DATA UNAVAILABLE] and [DATA UNAVAILABLE].

She is prideful, self assured, and fights for ideals she believes in. Out of the three of Gail, Mikoto, and her, she speaks English the best.

Not much is known about Gail. I can't really describe her, which is why I changed my MCforums avatar to represent her. She has some kind of relation with Mikoto and an interest in alchemy. She appears to have some kind of power over wind.

And about where is says "[ERROR! DATA UNCERTAIN!]"? I'll tell you right now that the most likely outcome is that all 5 of these characters survive. However, the only character who is absolutely guaranteed to survive is Wilson, mainly because I'm too attached to him to let him die.

On the plus side, I'm now really good at typing "[DATA UNAVAILABLE]".

A little backstory first...
Quite a while ago, PitTheAngel found an online Hunger Games simulator and decided to put a bunch of player names into it and post the results. A bunch of people suggested extra events and tributes and what not, but it rarely stored the data between runs. Also, the results were totally random and every tribute was exactly the same as each other. At the time, I was taking a Data Structures class (with Java) and needed something for my final project. I decided, I could do better, and I did.

So basically, give your suggestions for tributes, events, combos, weather, and everything else and I'll run the simulator and see what happens. Most of it is RNG, but sometimes you can get a good set up and that boosts your chances a little. Here's how to add something for each category.

Adding a tribute to fight and die for your amusement

[name] {#s #d #i #e #a}

The [name] can be anything, even formatted and colored if you want. The {stats} should be 5 numbers that total to 150. Each of the numbers represents one of your stats, strength, dexterity, intelligence, entities, and alchemies. (or artifacts if you're from TvT) Here's an example:

Wilson {25s 30d 45i 30e 20a} 200 11 14 54

So at the start, Wilson has 25 strength, 30 dexterity, 45 intelligence, 30 entities, and 20 alchemies, which all total to 150.

Now the next two parts are optional. See the numbers after Wilson's stats? Those are his passives. Here is the full list of passives to pick and choose from:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/8z6m3f1di4wn56h/tribute.java?dl=0

It's the green text. You get to pick 2 positive passives OR 3 if you also take one of the negative passives (with numbers > 200), like Wilson does. If you don't want to do this, that's fine. The program gives all tributes who don't have any passives 2 random positive ones. Then it gives everyone 1 bonus random one.

Lastly, you can set up combos between two tributes to use in team battles. This is also optional, but here's how you set one up:

[Character 1's name],[Character 2's name],[combo name],[stat character 1 will use],[stat character 2 will use],[modifier]
[flavor text]

In your flavor text, use (enemy) in place of the target's name. You don't have to format the character's names here.

List of modifiers:
Spoiler Alert

a = AOE, hits 2 targets with the damage split between them. Only useful in 2v2 duels. Otherwise, its throwing away half your damage for nothing. (2v2 is going to be more common than 2v1 though. Also, only one enemy rolls for defense)
h = heal, power is healing split among both allies. Can over heal.
b = buff, power is split among all allied stats. Buff is permanent. (EG: Rolling 100 for power is +10 to all stats for both players)
w = wounding, deals 50% power to both hp and target's stats. Debuff is permanent. (EG: Rolling 100 deals 50 damage and drains each stat by 10)
d = debuff, deals 80% power to target's stats permanently. (EG: Rolling 100 drains each stat by 16)
(nothing) = default. Deals 100% power as flat damage.

Here's an example:
Tazz,Golden Freddy,Doorstopper,d,e
Golden Freddy summons a powerful door from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria and empowers it with the dark arts of [REDACTED], which Tazz quickly grabs and slams into (enemy) with his mastery over Doors.

So when both Tazz and Golden Freddy are on the same team, this combo might activate. The power is calculated by adding Tazz's dexterity score (d) to Golden Freddy's entities score (e), adding that to a 2 D40 roll, then subtracting the enemy's defense roll off. There is no modifier at the end, so it does the default 100% damage.

Adding an event

First, you need to determine which kind of event your idea falls under. There are four kinds, standard, bloodbath, fatal, and mashup.

Standard event: 1-6 tributes take place in it. The event can ONLY go one way. Each tribute can get a unique buff/debuff to any of their stats and/or take or heal damage.

[spoiler=Submitting format for Standard events]

[Flavor Text] {stat changes for player 1}/{stat changes for player 2}/etc

The flavor text can be whatever you want. To use the player's name, put in "(Player#)". Due to how it detects the number of players, please don't mention a player's name more than once. Here's an example:

(Player1) ubercharged (Player2), who proceeded to scare off (Player3) and (Player4). {5i 5a}/{5s 5d}/{2d -6i -3e}/{2d -6i -3e}

So, when the program randomly selects this event, it will take out four tributes at random from the ones currently alive (if there aren't that many, it selects a different event) and puts them randomly into the roles of players 1 through 4. After the event, player 1 will gain 5 int and 5 alc, player 2 will gain 5 str and 5 dex, and players 3 and 4 will gain 2 dex but lose 6 int and 3 ent. You can also use h for health healing/damage, like this:

(Player1) shoved (Player2) into a den of spiders. {3s 3i}/{-4s -4d -4i -20h}

The -20h means that player2 will take 20 damage.

Bloodbath: Exactly the same as Standard, but can only happen on day 1. Submitting these is the same as submitting a Standard event.

Fatal: This is for only one tribute. In the event, they are provided with a dice roll based on stats. If they fail, they die instantly, no matter what their HP is at. If they succeed, they survive.

Format for Fatal events

[flavor text for failure] {stat rolls needed to survive}
[flavor text for surviving]

Use (Player1) in place of where you want the tribute's name.

Here's an example:

(Player1) fished up Duke Fishron, and died. {50s 50d 50a}
(Player1) fished up Duke Fishron, but was prepared!

A stat roll is equal to (player's stat) + random number between 1 and 40. If that is greater than or equal to the number provided, it's a pass. The tribute must pass all the given stat rolls in order to survive.

Mashup: This is the most complicated and versatile type of event. Provides multiple tributes with stat rolls and can go many different ways depending on the outcome.

Format for Mashups

This one is... weird. Please read the format for Standard and fatal events if you haven't already so I don't have to reexplain the format for stat changes and stat checks.

Here's the base format:

[# of branches] [text] {player1's checks/{player2's checks}/etc.
[path code] [text] {stat changes}
[path code] [text] {stat changes}
etc.

That's really complex, so here's an example.

4 (Player1) attempted to ambush (Player2)! {50s 50d 50i}/{70i}
-- (Player1) tripped and fell before reaching (Player2), who didn't notice a thing! {-2s -2d}/{-1i}
-+ (Player1) made too much noise and was noticed by (Player2), who proceeded to attack his assailant! {-30h}/{6i}
+- (Player1) successfully ambushed (Player2) and dealt a painful blow! {4s 2d 5i}/{-75h}
++ (Player1) almost made the attack work, but (Player2) noticed and fled into the woods! {2i}/{2d 2i}

So when the event starts, it gives player 1 those three stat checks and sees if they pass ALL three. It then files that under player one's success. Then it checks if player2 passes their checks and files that under player two's success, and so on for each player. Then, it compares each of the potential path's Path Code (the +s and -s) with what it has for each player's success. The ++ means that path is taken if both players passed their checks, the +- is taken if player one passed and player two failed, the -+ is taken if player one failed and player two passed and so on. You can also use an = sign in the Path Code if you want to make it so it doesn't matter whether a certain player passes or fails.

[/spoiler]

You can also submit ideas for weather effects and passives. Those are much less formal. You have to describe what you want it to do and I'll complain about how hard that is to code. For example...

IreCreeper: Rage Virus: "A virus sweeps through the arena, causing everyone to become enraged..." HIGHLY increased chance for duels. Strength and Entities are more likely to be used instead of other stats for duels.

Talist: Ughhhh... but messing with the duel chance... I mean I could do that... And making Strength and Entities more likely to be used is... ugh... I'm going to have to hard code in a separate line of if thens and elses and blah blah blah blah...
