I continue working on the crabs carcass, disconnecting flesh from shell and placing them in separate piles, I proceed to cut a hole into the crab's core, checking to see if there's anything cool there before continuing to separate the beast's various body parts, which may yet find use.
You've already retrieved everything you can from the Crab's remains, but there are many things on the ground you might want to keep. Your inventory's going to be a puzzle to manage.

The attack only deals 3 damage because Pricey is equipped with the Helm of the Juggernaut! The Anti-Acolyte side is being lazy, and with your competence, I'm not so confident that they'll win. Which is a problem with me, since I haven't fleshed out much of a Pro-Acolyte storyline... but I'll probably get that solved as I think more about it. Regardless, continue the way you're playing if you're happy with it.

I juice the cactus into the wooden cups, then throw away the cactus juicing kit, leaving a spot in my inventory for the crab shells. the spot that once held the cactus now holds 3 partially-filled wooden cups of cactus juice. I proceed to realise (like i realised this as i started this part of the post) that I've been in the sun for a while and haven't drunk anything! somewhat dismayed at my mistake, I quickly down all 3 cups of cactus juice, thus leaving me with 1 open inventory slot. I proceed to dig around the fossil and pick it, and the ground around it, up, not ruining the specimen. I then hide in the shade again.

using instunt, I grab the pickaxe and flint points, using two of them as material for reinforcing the pickaxe head and one of them to sharpen it, to improve the pickaxe in some way.
using steuf, meanwhile, I conjure a single oak log.
if the portal went through, I ask goldhero if I can borrow 2 logs from him, promising to pay him back at some point . if i need to drop something for this, I drop the fossil back where it was for now, but i probably don't since I'm letting him take the crab meat.
ok so I got the logs, and I give him and/or the stalkers permission to take the crab meat with their action, allowing him to bypass the fight.
