Meanwhile, in the future,

Toast begins constructing a portal. Neat.
First, she’ll create a device for choosing the location. She smelts down 2 Gold Ingots by superheating her right hand, then adds an Iron Ingot to the mixture. Mixing it a little, she creates an alloy from this- something about as magically conductive as gold, but a little bit stronger too. Then, using her hand as a mould (mold?), she forms this into a hexagonal ring. Next, she takes a sheet of glass and a Titanium ingot, and does something different.
She places the two next to each other, and places them onto the workbench.

"Alto n Shill Linis Kara! Rass Voros Muris!"
The two objects immediately are flung together. There is a sound of smashing glass and a flash of light, but as it fades, a silvery, metallic liquid comes into view. Something is... off about it. It seems to have both properties of a solid object and a liquid, as it leaves the table without residue when Toast picks it up. Yet, as she carries it to the gold alloy frame, it begins to seep through her crystalline fingers.

She drops it through the hexagonal ring, and it catches to edges, bouncing back to form a membrane within it. It swirls around, reflecting and absorbing light seemingly at random.
Next, Toast takes what remains of the alloy and starts making a few small objects, each about the size and shape of a button, smelting more alloy if necessary. Once she has five, she etches runes into each, such that each one has a different rune, then another which better resembles a much smaller version of the hexagonal frame. She places this ring in the centre of the membrane, where it floats in an unsettling fashion. Then, she etches a few more runes identical to the first around the edge of the large frame, before placing the whole device on the wall.

"Gula Alto Aya ey Rass Linis! Orno Gula Alto 'Allison'" she shouts.
The ring in the centre glows a little, before fading back to normal. Toast tests this out, and tries moving the ring through the liquid-metal. There's a slight resistance, as if moving it through jelly. As she approaches the sides close to the runes, said runes appear in the liquid-metal. Placing the ring such that its 'targeting' the rune would probably do something interesting.

Now she follows her own timeline backwards, then travelling forward, so that she can place a rune at the Crystillery and the Fortified Farm. For each she places one of the runes against a wall, and mutters a brief spell to hold it there. Really anything would work, but she's been using magic so far so may as well go the full mile. The remaining three runes she places into the inventory.

"Leri-"
The universe appears to stop still for a moment, as if holding its breath for what Toast says next.
"Raso n Krus ey 'Allison' Linis Kara Linis Runa!"
Toast's words become will, and her will becomes law. Space itself bends and twists, causing three positions to become one, dictated by the device she created earlier. A rift is torn open in the wall of the basement, as is one in each of the locations previously marked. Finally, she expends 3 Metamagic to cast an altered version of Force Glyph to act as a warding spell to prevent Iti from overrunning the house if they manage get into any of the other locations.
She then adds a note describing how to use it, since although out of universe we know how to use it, none of the characters besides Toast know how. It appears she wrote it in advance, which is good, since she seem about to collapse. What was it that Alt said about using magic responsibly? Or was that time travel?

It reads as follows:
"I've made this portal to help us get around places a little bit easier. It's super simple to use, so don’t freak out. When it's inactive, it can be manipulated using the hexagonal control panel to the right. Use the ring in the centre to select your destination around the edge of the silvery area, according to the list below. Don’t try to go to a location that hasn’t been set, I already have countermeasures against that!
