I already went back and did my retcons. I was relieved to discover that most of my stupid stuff was done in the forge thread, and since that's not canonical stuff anyways, I can be at ease. Those things that DID need fixing up that could be fixed up without breaking everything are marked and notated in the thread, so I've already finished going through and making the necessary edits. There's probably more work I could do, but I should really refrain from it.
I am kind of excited, but I hope the next game starts soon after, hint hint.

I've got a pretty good idea of who Willow is going to be... I want to do this one right. Wilson never was meant to be so big, so most of his personality was made up on the spot. Luckily, I had my own personality to lean on. I kinda threw out a bunch of personality traits and somehow managed to tie them all together. Well, most of them. I still have one plot hole which I intend to exploit to its fullest for Willow's story. Now, instead of making it up as I go, I have a sheet of paper with a massive grid front and back describing her personality, quirks, backstory and whatnot. I've been running other kinds of characters for "test drives" with other RPs before the real deal, because DTG3 will be the longest and most involved RP I'll be in. Maybe all this planning will ruin some of the fun of playing her, but at least I had fun writing her.
And if I'm going to try hard this... might as well go all the way. So, could I ask some RP based questions to anyone who cares? If I'm confirmed GM for DTG3, I'll probably have another set of questions for mechanics. And if that happens, I'd like people to answer these questions even more because I could use the answers to guide the main storyline as well.

If you follow Wilson's story, when did you start? Was there anything particularly striking about his story that interested you?
I sort of feel like I'm trying to force attention on Wilson via playing out his flaws. Would you agree or is that just realistic/his personality? Maybe its just that stories of struggles and mortality are inherently more interesting than stories of power.

1. The minion summoning was actually quite fun, though maybe a little restrictive. Answering despite the fact you didn't direct it at me, my favorite colour is blue.
2. Not really vague, he's just rather complex. You could probably be more clear about it though.
3. I don't really remember, Scratch's Mansion, probably. Don't remember if it was anything in particular.
4. It's probably realistic/his personality, but the constant focus on his flaws is a little irritating sometimes. Maybe because I prefer stories of people as opposed to either of those.

The Godmodder emerges victorious for the first time. Usually, he's one of the first to die. But not this time. He climbs on board the Winner's Ship and starts making plans to summon DMK as trial 2. But, something strange occurs to him. As he's flying over the land, he notices that there are no players around anywhere. The entire population of Minecraft. Gone. Just like that. Where did they all go? Then it dawned on him. Back in the Hunger Games, his hacks had been randomly disabled. Everyone had just logged off. Everything was gone. His hopes and dreams for proving himself to be the best around no one ever going to take him down, gone in an instant. No. That couldn't be right. That couldn't be how this all ends. If he was going to fail, there should have at least been some epic final battle against the Descendants and Notch, maybe in some kind of tower. But this was just a slap in the face. And that, could not happen. The Winner's Ship suddenly exploded into flames and the Godmodder crashed down to the ground like a flaming meteor. With a deafening explosion in the empty world, he set about getting the ending he deserved. He would have to restart the Operation. It didn't matter he was at 8 HP, just as long as he could get the battle he deserved. He set about recreating his virus, spending days and weeks on it. Then he was hit with the bill. Hey, do you think those Winner's Ships are cheap? All those safety mechanisms cost me a fortune and its only fair he pays for the one he destroyed. Sheesh.

I'm starting to wonder if perhaps it might be an idea to not have instant kill events. They tend to kill the drama as often as they kill players.
Also, second Metal Gear RAY badass mode: It took down OWAKS solo, in just a few rounds. In the game proper, it took all of us working together to bring the thing down, over a long period of time.

Scratch's manor was pretty much the first RP I ever did with him. Back then, I didn't have any of this Kitsune or Laiko or Inari stuff planned. All I had was a vague idea of where he came from and where he's going.

Like I said, blue is a nice color. Not my favorite, but up there. BTW: my favorites are gold followed by green, then blue, then orange or something. And that influenced the choice of Wilson's text color.
Yeah. Wilson and Laiko are the same character. They're actually more accurate representations of split personalities than splits are, in a way at least. But I wouldn't say Wilson has a split personality.

Well, there is an aspect of interaction with the player base. He did truly change from when he started, and I didn't plan that either. But I will have to think of the balance between accessibility vs. player choice. The more the character is involved in the story, the more accessible they are, but the more it sort of forces players to know who they are.
Well then, sorry. Its too late for me to summon anything else. In this game at least. But maybe I'll have to top myself for DTG3. Yes, making an entity even more complex than Wilson was.
The story, you were very thorough in fleshing out Wilson's character there and had lots of interesting things, so I wish I'd participated. Midnight blue. Why did everyone else steal my favorite color!?!?!

I've been following his story off and on because of time limitations in how much I can read in the thread since you first created him during Scratch's Manor. If I'm not mistaken that's what gave me the idea to try and interfere in Godcraft using Dimentio. The entire thing has been really interesting, Wilson is the only character so far that was both created for the explicit purpose of roleplay, and successful in that role.
I think that the story you're weaving with Wilson is great. I think we could stand to have a little more variety in our character arcs, and what you've done with Wilson has actually influenced what I decided to do with Eric, not an active choice, but it's been floating there in my mind, and sort of pushed me in the direction of making Eric not only begin out less raw power than everyone else, but stay that way.
I am slightly delusional and also really kinda wish I could meet you guys in real life for some reason. I am also too friendly for my own good.
Hey Talist, I've been coming up with ideas for the finale of DTG 3 (to make it suitable epic) that'll tie in with Piono's DTG:MSPA. If you become the GM of DTG 3, would it be okay if I told them to you? Anyway, I have a bunch of complex entities planned for DTG 3 (because I like meaningfull complexity), so I'm okay on that front.
Well, I'm going to be talking to him about how Loth should be treated in the beginning, when I made all those retcons. I guess Piono will too.

I already went back and did my retcons. I was relieved to discover that most of my stupid stuff was done in the forge thread, and since that's not canonical stuff anyways, I can be at ease. Those things that DID need fixing up that could be fixed up without breaking everything are marked and notated in the thread, so I've already finished going through and making the necessary edits. There's probably more work I could do, but I should really refrain from it.

I've got a pretty good idea of who Willow is going to be... I want to do this one right. Wilson never was meant to be so big, so most of his personality was made up on the spot. Luckily, I had my own personality to lean on. I kinda threw out a bunch of personality traits and somehow managed to tie them all together. Well, most of them. I still have one plot hole which I intend to exploit to its fullest for Willow's story. Now, instead of making it up as I go, I have a sheet of paper with a massive grid front and back describing her personality, quirks, backstory and whatnot. I've been running other kinds of characters for "test drives" with other RPs before the real deal, because DTG3 will be the longest and most involved RP I'll be in. Maybe all this planning will ruin some of the fun of playing her, but at least I had fun writing her.
And if I'm going to try hard this... might as well go all the way. So, could I ask some RP based questions to anyone who cares? If I'm confirmed GM for DTG3, I'll probably have another set of questions for mechanics. And if that happens, I'd like people to answer these questions even more because I could use the answers to guide the main storyline as well.

And that, could not happen. The Winner's Ship suddenly exploded into flames and the Godmodder crashed down to the ground like a flaming meteor. With a deafening explosion in the empty world, he set about getting the ending he deserved. He would have to restart the Operation. It didn't matter he was at 8 HP, just as long as he could get the battle he deserved. He set about recreating his virus, spending days and weeks on it. Then he was hit with the bill. Hey, do you think those Winner's Ships are cheap? All those safety mechanisms cost me a fortune and its only fair he pays for the one he destroyed. Sheesh.

Also, second Metal Gear RAY badass mode: It took down OWAKS solo, in just a few rounds. In the game proper, it took all of us working together to bring the thing down, over a long period of time.

I suppose the mere fact that I, unlike the majority it seems, dislike playing a sociopath sets Wilson apart. I can't play that character. I just can't. Willow isn't going to be as... pious as Wilson, but she's still going to be far from a sociopath.

Maybe the rules to try and encourage balance just fueled looking for loopholes. Maybe I should have put more faith in players' ability to be reasonable. Scratch's manor was pretty much the first RP I ever did with him. Back then, I didn't have any of this Kitsune or Laiko or Inari stuff planned. All I had was a vague idea of where he came from and where he's going.

Like I said, blue is a nice color. Not my favorite, but up there. BTW: my favorites are gold followed by green, then blue, then orange or something. And that influenced the choice of Wilson's text color.
Yeah. Wilson and Laiko are the same character. They're actually more accurate representations of split personalities than splits are, in a way at least. But I wouldn't say Wilson has a split personality.

Well, there is an aspect of interaction with the player base. He did truly change from when he started, and I didn't plan that either. But I will have to think of the balance between accessibility vs. player choice. The more the character is involved in the story, the more accessible they are, but the more it sort of forces players to know who they are.

The story, you were very thorough in fleshing out Wilson's character there and had lots of interesting things, so I wish I'd participated. Midnight blue. Why did everyone else steal my favorite color!?!?!

I've been following his story off and on because of time limitations in how much I can read in the thread since you first created him during Scratch's Manor. If I'm not mistaken that's what gave me the idea to try and interfere in Godcraft using Dimentio. The entire thing has been really interesting, Wilson is the only character so far that was both created for the explicit purpose of roleplay, and successful in that role.
I think that the story you're weaving with Wilson is great. I think we could stand to have a little more variety in our character arcs, and what you've done with Wilson has actually influenced what I decided to do with Eric, not an active choice, but it's been floating there in my mind, and sort of pushed me in the direction of making Eric not only begin out less raw power than everyone else, but stay that way.
I am slightly delusional and also really kinda wish I could meet you guys in real life for some reason. I am also too friendly for my own good.

Hey Talist, I've been coming up with ideas for the finale of DTG 3 (to make it suitable epic) that'll tie in with Piono's DTG:MSPA.
