@Piono: The vast majority of the inhabitants of Grayhold know of the existence of runic magic. They tend to get their hands on my written observations of the stuff. Anyhow, welcome to my domain. Reality is an observation of those who create it.
The Totem of Dawn immediately goes into effect. I wasn't aware you'd played Thaumcraft 2 before. Nice. The Silverwood totem embossed with various markings and patterns seems to radiate purity, dissolving the Flux Goo in a three by three meter area around it. The foul Taint seems to recede for the Totem, fearing the purity of the magical wood fused with the heatless light and pure, unadulterated Vis. This clears enough Goo to enable passage safely across the hallway. The door at the end of the hallway looms in the distance, dimly illuminated by a candle. Something draws your attention. The clearing of the waste exuded by the Alchemical Furnaces in the floor above (the main Advanced one appear intact, luckily) has revealed a crimson liquid smeared on the floor before both of you. Regardless, the path ahead appears to be clear. However, the area does not seem any less ominous or dangerous. It is my castle we're talking about. The area directly behind you gets steadily colder. The occasional pedestal or chest line the walls irregularly. The door looms, seemingly anticipating its opening.
What will you do?

They would know of the existence of it, but that's completely different from actually knowing how the heck it works, or what the heck one does to counteract it. Although I looked back at it. The whatever did exactly what I said would be needed: rather than trying to disrupt the rune like I thought it would, it just cast a spell of darkness. Once Astria placed down the totem of dawn, the illumination would've been visible again: runic illumination won't go out without being disrupted. So the room is not, in fact, dimly illuminated, but once again brightly illuminated by the illumination that Eric cast.
So, mind telling us what is visible in the room now that the illumination is visible? I think I'll reserve my actions in relations to the door and whatever's dropping the temperature until I know what's in the room.
I'm not trying to 'win' this situation. Its just that for some reason people short-changing major portions of abilities of my characters gets at me. If I come off as controlling or whiny, I apologize, I'm not trying to be.
If another cloud of darkness tries to cover the illumination:
Eric whirls around. Disperse Bind
The clouds of darkness in the room quickly dissipate, and the thing which was creating them is caught in a thick binding (strong enough to hold a first guardian, oughtta hold whatever's trying to mess with us)
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Do you know what a Totem of Dawn is? It is an embodiment of magical purity and the removal of Taint, and not in any way light. The runic marking is gone. The fabric of reality was bent around it, and was then consumed by shadows. You are not being whiny. I am merely saying that you are going to have to be more creative if you wish to do something in this hellhole. This portion of your abilities it quite literally reality bending, otherwise referred to as godmodding. Brute force of this caliber will get you nowhere in the fortress Grayholdium. I did say that you didn't have to come here.
I'm terribly sorry, but there are no clouds of darkness. The rune was removed from reality, and consumed by shadows. It no longer exists, and there were never clouds of darkness. Merely darkness. You attempt to restrict the wards of Grayhold, and possibly an unknown entity nonetheless. Will you fight a psychic battle against the might of the Citadel? If you win, obviously, the wards will be broken. That isn't exactly a good thing, but, you've done what you desired to, or begun to. The path is clear, and the door is waiting to be opened.
What will you do?

Okay, so here's the deal. As all of you have noticed, the editor has updated again. This new editor has one positive change and several negative ones. The good change is that I can copy-paste text and it will retain its formatting. The bad changes are that I have to manually type most color tags now (the Godmodder's text, neutral colors, etc.), if I edit a post several things become blocks of text (the Echeladder, the Story so Far, the Spoils, etc.), and if I view markup and go out, color tags are deleted (although this looks like a Firefox-only bug).
The last time this happened, I stopped the thread for a bit. It looks like that's what I'll have to do now, even though I REALLY don't want to delay this game's end any more than I have to. It's been dragging on for so long, but it looks like you're gonna have to wait a little longer. I'll keep you updated on this, but as of right now, there is NO post today.
To commemorate this, here is a drawing I made. I'll explain exactly what this means and how it happened later, but for now, it looks like this is the
[Client thread/INFO] [TConstruct]: Natura, what are we going to do tomorrow night?
[Client thread/INFO] [Natura]: TConstruct, we're going to take over the world!
[Client thread/INFO] [inpure|core]: Beating Minecraft's resource loading system with a shovel. Please stand by...
[Client thread/INFO] [MagicBees]: Replacing stupid-block with 'Here, have some delicious textures' ItemBlock. This is 100% normal.
No, erelye, runic markings don't work the same as godmodding, but that's a moot point. I'm not getting mad because you said 'no' to it, I'm getting frustrated because there isn't a legitimate reason why. I understand that the totem of dawn got rid of the darkness, but the darkness wouldn't have been able to consume the rune marking, block it, yes, but not consume it.
And rune markings DO have laid out mechanics (Admittedly I don't have them written down yet) so there ARE legitimate ways to mess with them. I'll tell you right now that rune markings do next to nothing against reality warpers and godmodders. Which is the reason piono not only managed to mess with Eric's rune-spells, but something he hasn't told yet is that the book with the vast majority of his stored runes was immolated when piono broke his Verse, so Eric only has a handful of utility and fighting spells, which he's conserving.
If Grayhold actually has reality warping magic and not just powerful magic that warps the FABRIC of reality as a byproduct of being so powerful, then yes, the illumination would go out, but just the clouds of darkness wouldn't do anything against the spell.
I want to get clarification on whether or not whatever is messing with us is a true reality warper or not (and thus whether or not its a legitimate disruption of Eric's rune.)
A note for the future: it is possible to make runes resistant to reality warping. It is extremely difficult though, and far, far above Eric's level of competence.
Also, twin. Nice gif. I am really looking forward to Trifecta.

Ohhh my. Well, I can't fault you for doing a temporary pause, Twin. Still, it feels kinda frustrating to just have an editor change pause this thing. Nice gif though, and at least I can read more of the massive thread backlog while I wait.

On the other hand, I share your sentiments why this was downgraded, except possibly limits in the system, but even then, these other bugs should not be around.
I hate this stupid editor too! I work on Brothers in Harms, but it's not a very large game. If you want to promote it, then maybe you should implement a WWII-themed section once this all clears out. Oh, well, it's up to you to promote it.

Guys, stop griping about the editor. We have the forge for a reason. And seriously, more people need to go there, not enough people get involved in the off-topic discussions.
