Spirit of Life && Spirit of Death && Spiritblade: Sword of the Underworld - Level 15 16/16 (5+ from various) (DONE!)

The Sword of The Underworld is the embodiment of Spirits, Life and Death. This weapon can control spirits and create them at will. The weapon's force will create ripples that echo through the ground and deal high damage to living entities. The sword allows for altered physical states, allowing the user to seperate their will from their body, allowing for simultaneous attacks on a single target.

As the alchemy starts to complete, you begin to see the tip and edge of a shiny, iridescent blade. Screams echo through your mind as you try to comprehend what sort of monster originally held this blade before it was fragmented. It takes a tremndous amount of willpower to resist the urge to take out the showing tip and shove it in someone to hear their screams, as the swords energy seems to suggest to you. Dark. You look away. As the hilt begins to complete, the urge to kill everyone you see regresses, but the feeling of bloodlust is strong.

A golden and pearlecent tip gradually rises from a golden light. You must shield your eyes to protect yourself from the blaze. It inspires hope and courage in you, and proximity to it seems to melt your fears away.

Demonic Staff || Frozen Heart + Iceborn Gauntlet + Souls of Night + Soul of Fright + Soul of Might = Hand of the Archlich - Level 25 4/26
This staff is forged in the icy depths of Frostmount. Being near it turns your blood to ice (metaphorically. Literally if close enough). It's proficiency with ice-based magic is only matched by it's menacing history. Many mortals have been corrupted or controlled when wielding this weapon without killing it's owner (flavour). The staff has the ability to steal the souls of the fallen, gaining abilities as enemies die around it, certain ones only after completing a ritual. It calls you to it, like a wolf to it's prey, but the chilling sensation you feel as you approach pulls you back.

More powerful spirits can be used in alchemy and alchemies will provide far greater results when spirits are used with them. Spirits will regularly be released into the battlefield of gradually increasing value. I may end up using some more creative way of earning the spirits/mats. $$ is the conjunction used in the alchemy formula.

I watch as time turns. Wow. That was boring. But I have another thing to do! With the Sword of the Underworld, I summon spirits to aid me. Casting a shadow across the city of Aetheria, I command the spirits to conjoin themselves with Thrusters 1, 2 and 3. I seperate myself from my body, making a macro to do the work for me and slice the things that are going to take thruster 1 with my spiritual, yet evil, sword, and use their pieces to create an auction house in Aetheria.

-Condensed Shadow Mist: Has an ASTOUNDING 95% evade from every attack, even from "guaranteed hit" attacks and "spraying" attacks. It absorbs darkness- and void-based attacks. Some attacks can hit it more often...
-Withering Beam: Can fire a beam of pure death at one entity, inflicting DOOM on it. Charges in 3 rounds. DOOM debuff lasts 5 rounds.
-Self-destruct: Upon defeat, will explode in the face of any nearby entity/player.

Debuff Database: DOOM: The affected entity will be instantly killed or will take serious damage once the timer runs out. Bosses may be afflicted as well, but will take significantly less damage from it (Max: 10k).

I casually walk over to Akron, but in his eyes, I'm actually travelling at the speed of light. Yep, I bent space so that it was closer to me.

Swordsman's Promise; destroy the destroyers.

I grab Black Nothingness out of its sheath, and look dead into Akron's eyes.

The amount of darkness I weild... even the most evil of monstrosities and deities could never handle. Not even you.

I reveal a hidden function of the blade that I never wished to expose... until now.
The source of my power...
...was also the very thing that nearly destroyed a world...
...the Dark Star. You see it for only a split second before it's covered up again...

My soul is made of perpetual emptiness. This blade reflects that. And now your soul... will be like so.

A quick slash was all it took... and then more appeared spontaneously... followed by more... and as the gashes grew in number, my aura of evil energies also grew. There was an immediate shift far towards the dark side of myself (as if my actual name wasn't bad enough)... I've hit my breaking point...

A flash of blinding darkness... it acted a lot like light, but darkness...

What Akron saw in front of it was a being of darkness in its purest form; it paled in comparison to this change.

...I am still incomplete... I'll be taking the rest of your energy... in due time... but for now...

Arctoae and the Artiquator now also in hand, I stab Akron with both of them, with the Artiquator on the "sub-zero" setting. It encased Akron in ice, and dealt some heavy damage to it. I slipped out unharmed.

Now... how would you survive... this...

The icy encasement bursts into blue flames. It isn't just on the surface, either... it's everywhere in and around the case. Including Akron's location. It was too dangerous for anyone, and I mean ANYONE, INCLUDING Piono, to even get within 1 mile of the encasement.

...I will see your end... you will suffer... you will become mincemeat... I will not allow you to live on...

Yep, I've gone mad.

I take out Ocean Ravager and Spaceleaf Greatsword, and prepare to overgrow Akron (who is still encased in ice and is frostburning at this moment). Frozen bamboo chutes erupt from below Akron, stabbing it multiple thousand times from all angles...

...Piono is powerful... but I will destroy him... next when we fight... you are merely target practice...

Sounds threatening...

The Physics Breaker floats around me... and distorts reality in the ice in such a way that makes it perpetually cold, lightless, heatless, and overall deadly in there. Balance comes to my hands next. I distort the ice enough to bypass the barrier that I created within that ice, and deliver the pain of neutrality; raw, elementless damage that would make anyone numb.

...This isn't over... yet... ehehehehe...

Control has been completely and utterly lost. The darkest reaches of my soul have finally come back to haunt everyone and everything... nothing will stand in the way of madness...

I rushed Akron with my claws, now bigger and sharper than ever. I latch onto Akron, who was still encased with ice and frostfire... I bite at its flesh multiple times with my dark, void-empowered teeth, and breathing void fire into the wounds, creating spaces of nothingness... I slash at it with my wings, which were sharper than blades attached to a jet fighter built for swordsmen. The wounds I created were actually entry points for my deathly tail, which was so venomous, it could kill 2000 of my own kind in a fraction of a second (The average for my kind is also about 20000 times more resilient than a 100% healthy human immune to disease. So the venom can kill 40 million of them in a single drop), which I jabbed straight into Akron's multiple wounds twice over, injecting 2 gallons of poison into every one of them. It's been made apparent... I don't want this thing to live.

...I can't tell if I am... evil... or malevolent... or vengeful... or something else... or a combination... either way... nothing will stand in my way... not anymore...

You've been probably wondering where the rest of my blades were all this time... as it turns out, I've gathered enough energy to unlock Floating Swords immediately... they were all behind me this entire time, slashing away at Akron while I was busy. Each and every one of my swords then lines up, and jabs straight into Akron's weak point, foretold by Foresight to be its head... they all hit flawlessly, and every single one of them were on their most powerful setting. Full-grown trees erupted where Akron stood thanks to SG, water equivalent to every tsunami the world has ever had flooded from OR, Balance gutted Akron from the inside, Arctoae continuously stabbed everywhere to freeze Akron to sub-zero tempratures, The Artiquator de- and re-frosted it continuously, making it star-core hot and absolutely freezing at the same time.

...I know... no end... except yours...

I take Black Nothingness myself, and look at the weak point.

...Goodbye... gorillahole...

I spin straight towards Akron, with Black Nothingness poised outwards, ready to strike. Akron thought he could block it with its horn, but I knew better.

I immediately changed
BN to a hyper-empowered version of itself cutting cleanly through Akron's horn, head, and other horn. The Physics Breaker slowed my perception of time, allowing 20 trillion slashes within a second, followed by a downward plunge into the reaches of Akron... the shock it sent obliterated everything from the entire attack... it tore the fabric of space-time and inter-dimensional planes of existence, tearing through flesh as if it were butter, Akron's death seeming imminent, nothing to dare oppose me, nothing to even belittle me, nothing to destroy me... ever again.

I had become...
...one with darkness...
...yet one with reason...
...and madness...
(and prayers that stat-based combat is overruled by this)
...and vengeance...
...I have finally achieved what none of my kind had previously achieved...
...the last ounce of power flows into me... and... at long last...
I have become The Obliterator.

TL;DR version below. If you need any more clarification, let me know (But I think I covered it this time).
First things first, the thing to remember about this upgrade is that you need a relic. Base relics that take a single charge to complete can be used, but typically won't be as powerful as charged ones. Charging up an expedition to find relics will likely reap relics of greater power. However, beware of the potential drawbacks to relic expeditions... things could happen that may or may not alter gameplay. Like the Sharkman Spirits from my first expedition. These immediately impactful expeditions often yield even greater rewards, or even less great ones. Relics are level 1 minimum, as in, they start at Level 1 and increase in level as you work on (charge up) expeditions. The formula:

1. Level = 1+{added charge time * 0.75(Rounded)}+{If hazardous impact, up to +3. No hazard/benefit, 0. If beneficial, can go down infinitely.}
The non-maths version:
-Every point of charge results in a level increase of 0.75 from the starting level, 1. If they are decimal numbers, rounding occurs.
-Levels change depending on hazards (More reward)(hostile entities, cataclysmic attacks that damage all) and benefits (Less reward)(Allied entities, heals). The level differences are more levels (risks) or fewer levels (benefits).
-The max level is 25, like all alchemies.
-The maximum charge times will remain at 33, but hazardous relics can go down to a 29 charge time, if you force one upon yourself. Benefits are be unexpected, and can hamper what you would expect to be a good relic. Increasing the charge times even more would prevent these from happening as often and make them impact the relic less, as less charge would have to be used from the relic's main charge.
-Hazards can guarantee that there will be no benefits, but benefits cannot guarantee that there would be no hazards, meaning both can happen at once in this case.

Next off, the actual alchemy. You can have up to 5 gems/souls/gadgets/other trinkets on a relic at once, making it your own personalized item. However, there MUST be at least one power-providing item (Now indicated with light yellow) and at least ONE other trinket (Light blue). Increasing the number of these will lead to higher level weapons (2. +1.5 per power source, rounded up)(Also note that Power Sources will NEVER affect regular alchemies. Additional power sources will give more effects to a Level 25 alchemy as opposed to increasing its level). There's many things you could do to customize a relic...
-Give it a variety of elements for awesome combinations or one single, more powerful element for some heavy hits.
-Give it different special properties, such as (but not limited to) extending when it's swung (Think Smash Bros' Beam Sword).
-Stat increases. AKA Firing/swinging speed, damage, size...
-Access new abilities, find more ways to kill a man, the possibilities are endless.
-Energy sources can give new effects too. Just not very powerful/active ones.
-If no alchemy could ever do something no matter how much you alchemize it, make it from a relic.
Basically, you can customize them to suit your style. A "Make it yourself" kind of thing.
Thus, you can create crazy combos otherwise thought to be unacheivable.
Your relics may also have some... unplanned effects when charged. Nothing that would destroy the relic, but some other effects that you would have to find out for yourself. But the chances of this happening are VERY unlikely. They can be beneficial or detrimental, of varying strengths. Some may not even matter too much, but others could COMPLETELY change your playstyle, for better or for worse.

For now, here's the alchemy notation:

And finally, the charge times. These times will depend on the level of the base relic + the number of enhancements being put on it. Want a simpler formula? Here:

I hope this is a good formula for everyone. If not, it can be changed, no problem.

Here's an example of a possible MR alchemy process:

Ruin Search Simulation (1/9) (We want this to be a Lv. 8 weapon, so 1 + 0.75 x 8 = 8 + another 1 from the first 1. So, a 9-turn charge is needed.)

Shattered Gladius (Lv. 8) [+-] Frozen Bauble {+1} + Laser Extension {+1} + Enigmatic Mist Bottle {+1} + Energized Energy Sphere {+1 charge time, +1.5 levels} + Void Fuel {+1 charge time, +1.5 levels} = Edge of the Deep Freeze (Lv. 11, 1/14) (Gained 3 levels from the power sources, gained 5 charge time from everything.)(Heck, you could create a fully power-source oriented item and get more levels per point of charge! You need to sacrifice your other slots for those things, though, as you would only have one slot left for a trinket.)

Once the relic is powered up, it can be used just like a normal alchemy, including being used in other alchemies. The effects caused by Trinkets and Tech are far more powerful than on normal alchemies, and the relics themselves tend to have a higher attack power to compensate long charges.

I feel like Relics should be coloured
red for the sake of being distinguishable from the rest.


Base Relics: The relics in their old, rusty/broken/etc. form. Are unpowered, but those that are still active they are very unstable. Relics typically go like this: Shattered Gladius (Lv. 8), or {Name}{Level}.

TL;DR (Or, at the very least, shortened): In order to use the upgrade, one MUST get a relic from a dig site. The longer you dig around the site, the more powerful the relic will be, min. level 1, max level 25 (See 1.). Random other events may happen, positive or negative, and those events will change the level of the relic. Thus, you will know the level of your relic.

Any single relic has 5 slots. You can put any trinket or tech in those slots, allowing full customization. One power source and one trinket/tech is required. The rest may be outfitted as you see fit. Power sources increase the level, but provide far less powerful effects. Also, if the relic is Level 25, they will act like Trinkets/Tech, providing effects as opposed to extra levels (See 2.). Trinkets/Tech provide powerful effects, but do not increase the level. All T/T effects are much stronger than normal alchemies. The more you put on a relic, be them Power Sources or Trinkets/Tech, the greater the charge times will be (See 4.).

I want these relics to be much different than your regular alchemies, to give the upgrade some sort of use other than just... sitting there collecting dust.

Between all the stuff happening to Aetheria, plus overuse of Denito and general stress from around the fight, CC has totally lost it, Denito chimes softly as the copies return to being one, just after this happens, there's a large explosion with him as the epicenter.
After the dust clears a figure can be seen standing there, he looks brutal and almost bestial in his appearance, you can see the blood lust is his eyes.
Something else catches your eye, but just for a second, you're sure you saw something though, you look back and there's another figure who looks... like... something, you just can't get a good look at... him? her? it? you can't tell.
Meet Cataclysm and Cryptic, Cataclysm was that first guy, he's a real heavy hitter, but lacks strategy or utility, the other one is cryptic, who can't deal damage nearly at all, but can aid people in tons of ways, while they each excel in one area they're weakness are plentiful, and they need to re-combine to be powerful.

Cataclysm finishes off the remaining mole things (that's whats trying to steal the thruster right? mole things?) well whatever they are, some brutal stuff just happened to them, and Cryptic casts a slow but powerful repair spell on the thrusters causing them to slowly regenerate health

I rocketjump around Akron with the Gjallarhorn-o'-plenty, confusing him, causing him to shoot his lasers everywhere, even at the Terror Granite Golem. I then jump onto the Aetherian Manned Turret and turn it into a giant rifle-shaped speaker/gravity gun hybrid and fire it at the TGG. The turret is playing Indrick Boreale's infamous speech at a frequency high enough to shatter granite. And it does.

Here's where the gravity gun part comes in.

I carry what is left of the TGG into space and then smash it into AC, accompanied with a few Gjallarhorn-o'-plenty rockets and The Fallen lasers. I then examine the crater where AC used to be.

You forgot the other two things I have, though. And they are significant.

The Physics Breaker, and Foresight.

I could basically outdo anything thrown at me at this point, including distortions in space-time that would make my attacks otherwise not do a thing.

Also time-stepping would be useless against me, seems time is also in the realms of physics, and Foresight could have very easily seen it coming. Even if you stopped time.

So you technically would have been thrown clean out of the place anyway.

Even if it actually didn't hurt Akron much (damned stat-based combat), and even if you managed to breach the encasement and attempt to interrupt me, it should have done something even significantly noticeable to Akron.

And the Dark Star could have very easily destroyed everything. It was merely stopped before it could get a chance to do so.

-Obliterate: When used, this ability may instantly kill any non-boss entity (5%) or deal massive damage to it (70%). It may also deal very little however (25%).

TL;DR version below. If you need any more clarification, let me know (But I think I covered it this time).
First things first, the thing to remember about this upgrade is that you need a relic. Base relics that take a single charge to complete can be used, but typically won't be as powerful as charged ones. Charging up an expedition to find relics will likely reap relics of greater power. However, beware of the potential drawbacks to relic expeditions... things could happen that may or may not alter gameplay. Like the Sharkman Spirits from my first expedition. These immediately impactful expeditions often yield even greater rewards, or even less great ones. Relics are level 1 minimum, as in, they start at Level 1 and increase in level as you work on (charge up) expeditions. The formula:

1. Level = 1+{added charge time * 0.75(Rounded)}+{If hazardous impact, up to +3. No hazard/benefit, 0. If beneficial, can go down infinitely.}
The non-maths version:
-Every point of charge results in a level increase of 0.75 from the starting level, 1. If they are decimal numbers, rounding occurs.
-Levels change depending on hazards (More reward)(hostile entities, cataclysmic attacks that damage all) and benefits (Less reward)(Allied entities, heals). The level differences are more levels (risks) or fewer levels (benefits).
-The max level is 25, like all alchemies.
-The maximum charge times will remain at 33, but hazardous relics can go down to a 29 charge time, if you force one upon yourself. Benefits are be unexpected, and can hamper what you would expect to be a good relic. Increasing the charge times even more would prevent these from happening as often and make them impact the relic less, as less charge would have to be used from the relic's main charge.
-Hazards can guarantee that there will be no benefits, but benefits cannot guarantee that there would be no hazards, meaning both can happen at once in this case.

Next off, the actual alchemy. You can have up to 5 gems/souls/gadgets/other trinkets on a relic at once, making it your own personalized item. However, there MUST be at least one power-providing item (Now indicated with light yellow) and at least ONE other trinket (Light blue). Increasing the number of these will lead to higher level weapons (2. +1.5 per power source, rounded up)(Also note that Power Sources will NEVER affect regular alchemies. Additional power sources will give more effects to a Level 25 alchemy as opposed to increasing its level). There's many things you could do to customize a relic...
-Give it a variety of elements for awesome combinations or one single, more powerful element for some heavy hits.
-Give it different special properties, such as (but not limited to) extending when it's swung (Think Smash Bros' Beam Sword).
-Stat increases. AKA Firing/swinging speed, damage, size...
-Access new abilities, find more ways to kill a man, the possibilities are endless.
-Energy sources can give new effects too. Just not very powerful/active ones.
-If no alchemy could ever do something no matter how much you alchemize it, make it from a relic.
Basically, you can customize them to suit your style. A "Make it yourself" kind of thing.
Thus, you can create crazy combos otherwise thought to be unacheivable.
Your relics may also have some... unplanned effects when charged. Nothing that would destroy the relic, but some other effects that you would have to find out for yourself. But the chances of this happening are VERY unlikely. They can be beneficial or detrimental, of varying strengths. Some may not even matter too much, but others could COMPLETELY change your playstyle, for better or for worse.

For now, here's the alchemy notation:

3. [Relic, Level X] [+-] [Object 1] + [Object 2] + [Object 3]... = [Powered relic, Level X]

And finally, the charge times. These times will depend on the level of the base relic + the number of enhancements being put on it. Want a simpler formula? Here:

I hope this is a good formula for everyone. If not, it can be changed, no problem.

Here's an example of a possible MR alchemy process:

Ruin Search Simulation (1/9) (We want this to be a Lv. 8 weapon, so 1 + 0.75 x 8 = 8 + another 1 from the first 1. So, a 9-turn charge is needed.)

Shattered Gladius (Lv. 8) [+-] Frozen Bauble {+1} + Laser Extension {+1} + Enigmatic Mist Bottle {+1} + Energized Energy Sphere {+1 charge time, +1.5 levels} + Void Fuel {+1 charge time, +1.5 levels} = Edge of the Deep Freeze (Lv. 11, 1/14) (Gained 3 levels from the power sources, gained 5 charge time from everything.)(Heck, you could create a fully power-source oriented item and get more levels per point of charge! You need to sacrifice your other slots for those things, though, as you would only have one slot left for a trinket.)

Once the relic is powered up, it can be used just like a normal alchemy, including being used in other alchemies. The effects caused by Trinkets and Tech are far more powerful than on normal alchemies, and the relics themselves tend to have a higher attack power to compensate long charges.

Base Relics: The relics in their old, rusty/broken/etc. form. Are unpowered, but those that are still active they are very unstable. Relics typically go like this: Shattered Gladius (Lv. 8), or {Name}{Level}.

TL;DR (Or, at the very least, shortened): In order to use the upgrade, one MUST get a relic from a dig site. The longer you dig around the site, the more powerful the relic will be, min. level 1, max level 25 (See 1.). Random other events may happen, positive or negative, and those events will change the level of the relic. Thus, you will know the level of your relic.

Any single relic has 5 slots. You can put any trinket or tech in those slots, allowing full customization. One power source and one trinket/tech is required. The rest may be outfitted as you see fit. Power sources increase the level, but provide far less powerful effects. Also, if the relic is Level 25, they will act like Trinkets/Tech, providing effects as opposed to extra levels (See 2.). Trinkets/Tech provide powerful effects, but do not increase the level. All T/T effects are much stronger than normal alchemies. Be wary, that by-products may appear on your relic, for better or for worse, of various strengths...

More powerful spirits can be used in alchemy and alchemies will provide far greater results when spirits are used with them. Spirits will regularly be released into the battlefield of gradually increasing value. I may end up using some more creative way of earning the spirits/mats. $$ is the conjunction used in the alchemy formula.

Spirit of Life && Spirit of Death && Spiritblade: Sword of the Underworld - Level 15 9/16

The Sword of The Underworld is the embodiment of Spirits, Life and Death. This weapon can control spirits and create them at will. The weapon's force will create ripples that echo through the ground and deal high damage to living entities. The sword allows for altered physical states, allowing the user to seperate their will from their body, allowing for simultaneous attacks on a single target.

As the alchemy starts to complete, you begin to see the tip and edge of a shiny, iridescent blade. Screams echo through your mind as you try to comprehend what sort of monster originally held this blade before it was fragmented. It takes a tremndous amount of willpower to resist the urge to take out the showing tip and shove it in someone to hear their screams, as the swords energy seems to suggest to you. Dark. You look away. As the hilt begins to complete, the urge to kill everyone you see regresses, but the feeling of bloodlust is strong.


Sunstone && Excalibur && Angel Halo = Divine Godblade - Level 20 5/21

A golden and pearlecent tip gradually rises from a golden light. You must shield your eyes to protect yourself from the blaze. It inspires hope and courage in you, and proximity to it seems to melt your fears away.

Demonic Staff || Frozen Heart + Frozen Wings + Souls of Night + Soul of Fright + Soul of Might = Hand of the Archlich - Level 25 2/26

This staff is forged in the icy depths of Frostmount. Being near it turns your blood to ice (metaphorically. Literally if close enough). It's proficiency with ice-based magic is only matched by it's menacing history. Many mortals have been corrupted or controlled when wielding this weapon without killing it's owner (flavour). The staff has the ability to steal the souls of the fallen, gaining abilities as enemies die around it, certain ones only after completing a ritual. It calls you to it, like a wolf to it's prey, but the chilling sensation you feel as you approach pulls you back.

Craig had always had a dream of owning his own shop, from a young age he spent much time in the local general store, watching the happiness wash over people's faces when they found what they had been hoping for, or the relief of finding something they were worried they couldn’t. The local shopkeeper Whitney had taken a liking to Craig, and was proud that someone had such an appreciation for her line of work. She took him on as an apprentice, and taught him everything she knew about running a store. Before long Craig and Whitney treated each other as family, and Whitney’s husband Redford also took quite a liking to Craig. Seeing Craig’s devotion to the townspeople reminded Redford of himself, and reassured him as to why he became mayor of the town. In Craig’s eyes Whitney and Redford were amazing, they kept the town running and gave the people what they needed.

Sadly, things weren’t going to end well for the town. One day, a band of bandits stormed into town, they demanded everything that the townspeople had, when they refused, the bandits told them that they would be back in the evening, and if they didn’t pay up then, everyone would die. After that, I shoot a massive plasma beam storm against the Dark Apparition, with a total of 100 beams.

Spirit of Life && Spirit of Death && Spiritblade: Sword of the Underworld - Level 15 10/16

The Sword of The Underworld is the embodiment of Spirits, Life and Death. This weapon can control spirits and create them at will. The weapon's force will create ripples that echo through the ground and deal high damage to living entities. The sword allows for altered physical states, allowing the user to seperate their will from their body, allowing for simultaneous attacks on a single target.

As the alchemy starts to complete, you begin to see the tip and edge of a shiny, iridescent blade. Screams echo through your mind as you try to comprehend what sort of monster originally held this blade before it was fragmented. It takes a tremndous amount of willpower to resist the urge to take out the showing tip and shove it in someone to hear their screams, as the swords energy seems to suggest to you. Dark. You look away. As the hilt begins to complete, the urge to kill everyone you see regresses, but the feeling of bloodlust is strong.

Sunstone && Excalibur && Angel Halo = Divine Godblade - Level 20 6/21

A golden and pearlecent tip gradually rises from a golden light. You must shield your eyes to protect yourself from the blaze. It inspires hope and courage in you, and proximity to it seems to melt your fears away.

Demonic Staff || Frozen Heart + Frozen Wings + Souls of Night + Soul of Fright + Soul of Might = Hand of the Archlich - Level 25 3/26

This staff is forged in the icy depths of Frostmount. Being near it turns your blood to ice (metaphorically. Literally if close enough). It's proficiency with ice-based magic is only matched by it's menacing history. Many mortals have been corrupted or controlled when wielding this weapon without killing it's owner (flavour). The staff has the ability to steal the souls of the fallen, gaining abilities as enemies die around it, certain ones only after completing a ritual. It calls you to it, like a wolf to it's prey, but the chilling sensation you feel as you approach pulls you back.

Here are the abilities for Hand of the Archlich. It grows in power when it absorbs souls which are gained when entities died, for smaller entities, the gain is decreased to 0.5 souls per attack on them (e.g. if 2 players killed x workers each, 1 soul would be gained, regardless of the amount) 3 Souls are gained on boss kill.

Soul bonuses cannot be gained when a previous ritual has not been performed, however souls can be. This staff is meant to be weak for a level 25 (still fairly powerful), but can scale up massively over time.

Abilities require rituals to gain, which can take 2-5 charges, the amount will tell you about how powerful it will be (generally)

Abilities are permanent, but activated ones have a cooldown.

Soul Transfer ((R: x) means it requires a ritual to complete, x is the duration of the ritual)
0 Souls: Soul Collection (R: 3) - Souls will now be able to be absorbed into the Hand of the Archlich, giving it new abilities.

1 Soul: Dark Pact (R: 2) - Every time a ritual is performed increase the level of this item by half the charges used in the ritual. (Half is rounded down, but kept in mind for the next rounding, which is rounded up.) Retroactive, counts for rituals performed before this ability is attained. Current Level: 25

3 Souls: Life Drain (R: 3) - Hostile entities that die to this weapon will heal a random allied entity equal to half the damage dealt.

5 Souls: Blizzard (R: 3) - Create a powerful blizzard for 2 turns, regardless of environment, damaging (staff level*75) ALL non-icebased entities (except the godmodder and damage is split among), and reducing hit chance to 40% (60% reduction) Cooldown: 5 turns.

10 Souls: Undead Pact (R: 2) - Dark Pact now also appies to souls. Half of souls contained within the staff are added to the Hand of the Archlich's level. Current Level: 25

15 Souls: Elemental Resistance (R: 2) - Entities of the allignment of the wielder are somewhat more resistant to fire, ice, water, shock and earth attacks. Proximity to the wielder enhances the effect.

As for Nulla Stella, it's a space alchemy. It enables spatial manipulation on a high level. It's similar to denito surrexit in that it's a utility alchemy that acts closer to a multiplier on your power depending on how you use it, rather than being a solid power boost. With skill, you can rip something apart by enlargening the distance between their molecules, close the gap between you and an object to hit or grab it without having to cross the space in between, or just be boring and teleport or launch things at near light speed.

Deum Lucem is an EXTREMELY powerful holy weapon. You basically have an entire god's arsenal of variations on Judgement, not to mention the ability to manipulate light in just about any way you please (invisibility, illusions, heightened visibility, hard light, light sabers/axes/chainsaws, you name it!).
Not only that, but it's going to melt the face off of absolutely anything you hit it with, so enjoy having a weapon with so much holy power that it even kills angels.

Ooh... nocte consumens is one of my personal favorites. The (currently) ultimate dark/unholy alchemy. It doesn't reach into the realms of death (that one comes later), but what it DOES have access to is a real femaledog. The ability to manipulate shadows (shadowblending, the creepy thing Pride does in full metal alchemist, other generic stuff) isn't all. Name a generic Dark Lord power, fear blasts, obliterating people's minds, even RIPPING OUT SOULS are the domain of this piece of !!FUN!!.

Also, jondanger, you don't have to worry about destroying aetheria just yet.
Regardless of what other people do, I've got my best happy-murder-rampage to date coming up in, at minimum, three updates.

Piono, could I sit this one out too? as fun as it sounds (and it sounds really fun) I think that a gauntlet of pure darkness wouldn't be the best for a lawful neutral/ neutral good kind of character.

I test out the powers of Nulla Stella by causing a bunch of the worker's atoms to increase greatly in speed, giving them a great deal of kinetic energy, causing them to spontaneously combust due to the heat, I then give them a bunch of velocity in the direction of the spire projection.

Edit: MY CITY!!!!! first thing, 12 copies of my self are running around at hypersonic speeds helping the city, one throws the C4 off of the city, another goes crazy diplomatic hyper-death on the moles, they're not stealing anything, a third spams superosque arrows at the bottom of the city spawning tornadoes to keep it afloat, and a forth dons the tornado wings and uses their pwers to further slow the descent of the city, the rest rally nearly everyone in the city to repair and protect the thrusters and help the rest evacuate. Please don't let this city die this was supposed to be a place of joy, I can't let everyone die.

Defence Planes for Aetheria (13/15) (These will do something good for Aetheria)

With my newly acquired Physics Breaker, I decrease the density of the Granite on the Terror Granite Golem, weakening it. I then chip away at its support(s) with a chisel, decreasing their width. I then increase the weight of the TGG's top, crushing its supports into the ground... but not before I slow it's area of time, and hit it with so many OR and SG slashes it may as well be a piece of bread. Soggy, overgrown bread. Ew.

After all that's said and done, I change its weight to less than the weight of Helium Gas, and blow the parts away with a giant fan. It's so light!
I also decide to give Granite Piece Balloons to Aetheria to help stop it from FALLING.

AHAHAHAAAAA! That is FREAKING HILARIOUS! I want to do more with this!

I also think about it a bit, but I've decided to use the Physics Breaker to make the shields and buildings of Aetheria MUCH tougher. Though, the first order of business is to get those planes up and running... THEN I'll do this.

TL;DR version below. If you need any more clarification, let me know (But I think I covered it this time).
First things first, the thing to remember about this upgrade is that you need a relic. Base relics that take a single charge to complete can be used, but typically won't be as powerful as charged ones. Charging up an expedition to find relics will likely reap relics of greater power. However, beware of the potential drawbacks to relic expeditions... things could happen that may or may not alter gameplay. Like the Sharkman Spirits from my first expedition. These immediately impactful expeditions often yield even greater rewards, or even less great ones. Relics are level 1 minimum, as in, they start at Level 1 and increase in level as you work on (charge up) expeditions. The formula:

1. Level = 1+{added charge time * 0.75(Rounded)}+{If hazardous impact, up to +3. No hazard/benefit, 0. If beneficial, can go down infinitely.}
The non-maths version:
-Every point of charge results in a level increase of 0.75 from the starting level, 1. If they are decimal numbers, rounding occurs.
-Levels change depending on hazards (More reward)(hostile entities, cataclysmic attacks that damage all) and benefits (Less reward)(Allied entities, heals). The level differences are more levels (risks) or fewer levels (benefits).
-The max level is 25, like all alchemies.
-The maximum charge times will remain at 33, but hazardous relics can go down to a 29 charge time, if you force one upon yourself. Benefits are be unexpected, and can hamper what you would expect to be a good relic. Increasing the charge times even more would prevent these from happening as often and make them impact the relic less, as less charge would have to be used from the relic's main charge.
-Hazards can guarantee that there will be no benefits, but benefits cannot guarantee that there would be no hazards, meaning both can happen at once in this case.

Next off, the actual alchemy. You can have up to 5 gems/souls/gadgets/other trinkets on a relic at once, making it your own personalized item. However, there MUST be at least one power-providing item (Now indicated with light yellow) and at least ONE other trinket (Light blue). Increasing the number of these will lead to higher level weapons (2. +1.5 per power source, rounded up)(Also note that Power Sources will NEVER affect regular alchemies. Additional power sources will give more effects to a Level 25 alchemy as opposed to increasing its level). There's many things you could do to customize a relic...
-Give it a variety of elements for awesome combinations or one single, more powerful element for some heavy hits.
-Give it different special properties, such as (but not limited to) extending when it's swung (Think Smash Bros' Beam Sword).
-Stat increases. AKA Firing/swinging speed, damage, size...
-Access new abilities, find more ways to kill a man, the possibilities are endless.
-Energy sources can give new effects too. Just not very powerful/active ones.
-If no alchemy could ever do something no matter how much you alchemize it, make it from a relic.
Basically, you can customize them to suit your style. A "Make it yourself" kind of thing.
Thus, you can create crazy combos otherwise thought to be unacheivable.
Your relics may also have some... unplanned effects when charged. Nothing that would destroy the relic, but some other effects that you would have to find out for yourself. But the chances of this happening are VERY unlikely. They can be beneficial or detrimental, of varying strengths. Some may not even matter too much, but others could COMPLETELY change your playstyle, for better or for worse.

For now, here's the alchemy notation:

And finally, the charge times. These times will depend on the level of the base relic + the number of enhancements being put on it. Want a simpler formula? Here:

I hope this is a good formula for everyone. If not, it can be changed, no problem.

Here's an example of a possible MR alchemy process:

Ruin Search Simulation (1/9) (We want this to be a Lv. 8 weapon, so 1 + 0.75 x 8 = 8 + another 1 from the first 1. So, a 9-turn charge is needed.)

Shattered Gladius (Lv. 8) [+-] Frozen Bauble {+1} + Laser Extension {+1} + Enigmatic Mist Bottle {+1} + Energized Energy Sphere {+1 charge time, +1.5 levels} + Void Fuel {+1 charge time, +1.5 levels} = Edge of the Deep Freeze (Lv. 11, 1/14) (Gained 3 levels from the power sources, gained 5 charge time from everything.)(Heck, you could create a fully power-source oriented item and get more levels per point of charge! You need to sacrifice your other slots for those things, though, as you would only have one slot left for a trinket.)

Once the relic is powered up, it can be used just like a normal alchemy, including being used in other alchemies. The effects caused by Trinkets and Tech are far more powerful than on normal alchemies, and the relics themselves tend to have a higher attack power to compensate long charges.

Base Relics: The relics in their old, rusty/broken/etc. form. Are unpowered, but those that are still active they are very unstable. Relics typically go like this: Shattered Gladius (Lv. 8), or {Name}{Level}.

TL;DR (Or, at the very least, shortened): In order to use the upgrade, one MUST get a relic from a dig site. The longer you dig around the site, the more powerful the relic will be, min. level 1, max level 25 (See 1.). Random other events may happen, positive or negative, and those events will change the level of the relic. Thus, you will know the level of your relic.

Any single relic has 5 slots. You can put any trinket or tech in those slots, allowing full customization. One power source and one trinket/tech is required. The rest may be outfitted as you see fit. Power sources increase the level, but provide far less powerful effects. Also, if the relic is Level 25, they will act like Trinkets/Tech, providing effects as opposed to extra levels (See 2.). Trinkets/Tech provide powerful effects, but do not increase the level. All T/T effects are much stronger than normal alchemies. Be wary, that by-products may appear on your relic, for better or for worse, of various strengths...

The more you put on a relic, be them Power Sources or Trinkets/Tech, the greater the charge times will be (See 4.).

After charging, your new weapon can be (normally) alchemized further if you so desire. /endTL;DR(ReadCorrespondingPartsForMoreInfo)

I want these relics to be much different than your regular alchemies, to give the upgrade some sort of use other than just... sitting there collecting dust.

The war rages. Players summoning great beasts to combat one another, powerful entities bent on destroying everything that opposes them. Even the godmodder's terror mobs quail in comparison to some of these behemoths.
This is one of the largest conflicts Piono has ever been in, and that is saying something.
But something has been nagging at him.
Something not quite right.
He doesn't... feel right.
And over time he's become certain that this murderous bloodlust that seems to have been his MO over the course of this conflict is out of character for him.
Drastically out of character.
And where is Project Nexus? He left, Phobos should have sent help, or at least scouts considering the size of this conflict.
So as the war rages on, ripping up the landscape beyond all belief, Piono has done little. He got up a few times to take potshots at gladius, but that was all.
He has sat, amidst the destruction, entering the realm of his own mind.
Even without Mens Potentiam, the Split that long ago fractured his mind gave him the ability to traverse his own mindscape at will.
But he is not comforted by what he sees.
Instead of the usual vast expanses of universe left over from his old life mixed with the varied ruins that the prophecy that attempts to dominate his life that has been his mindscape's usual setting since he was first able to view it is gone.
Instead it is smooth hallways made of a dark, featureless material. He wanders for eternity, or what feels like it, until finally he comes to a red glowing figure.

Piono's eyes suddenly open. His eyes and the rune marks on his arms flash brightly, forcing those looking at him to look away.
When they look back he is standing, his eyes are no longer red. Instead they have turned a vibrant shade of blue, akin to his usual color. The marks on his arms have turned red.

opener: begins by entering phase 1.
Special ability: phase shift, 3 round charge, automatic. Every time this ability goes off it switches from Phase 1 to Phase 2 or from Phase 2 to Phase 1.
Passive ability: Apocalypse: starts counter at 0. Every round, the counter goes up by 1 and all entities other than Akron, claw runes, evil worms and evil worm tails take (counter number) * 500 damage unless otherwise protected.
Passive ability: ultimate destroyer: immune to any effect that has a chance for instant death, stunning effects, or syphoning effects (basically you can't end the boss fight without actually doing the damage, and any and all debuffs that would prevent it from using any of it's attacks automatically fail. Everything else works as usual though.)
Passive ability: Ultimates: has a damage counter that goes up 1 point for every 1 damage taken (through any means. Healing does not reduce the number either). As SOON as it hits 150K, Akron unleashes the phase ultimate corresponding to whichever phase he's in and reduces the damage counter by 150K (so overflow is kept)

Akron's Spoil: Akron's core, 5 round charge, allows the casting of one of Akron's standard abilities (both from Phase 1 or Phase 2), can be charged up to 12 rounds. Whenever used normally, will subtract 5 charges from the core. If used at 12 can be used to cast either Obliterate or Singularity (Obliterate still can't be used on groups or bosses), if either of those are used, the core loses all 12 charge.

((note on power levels, none of his status effects (for anyone worried about Singularity) have a 100% chance to be inflicted. In fact, in the sake of balance, it should probably be somewhere between 25% and 75% depending on the severity of the status effect. Anyways jon, I've been thinking this one over a bit, If this is too overpowered, up the phase shift time a bit, as everything but Phase 1 probably looks a lot more powerful than it actually is, while Phase 1's entry buff should be more powerful than it looks on the outside. If you still think that's not enough, play with the attack strength or his health (or eliminate the phase ultimates if absolutely necessary). Suddenly an arrow goes through cryptic, disrupting all his time clones, because, fun fact, if you aren't highly trained with denito surrexit and other time cloning abilities (like piono) any sort of distraction will wreck your clones and knock you back to one person.
Piono, followed by a fluctuating aura of destruction, shoots upwards and brings Rapture straight through sirplop's torso, hopefully cutting him in half before he can even try to move since Piono's in a time-stop effect.
He drops out of it with a massive explosion that blows everyone else backwards and wipes out any other pieces put into place to try and slow the descent of the city.

EDIT: For everyone looking at Akron, I went back and fixed up his stats some: noticeably, Obliterate isn't a 1-hit kill automatic to anything other than bosses and hordes, as that would be overpowered, even for a 100 post charge hostile boss.
Additionally, the phase ultimates no longer go off every time he switches phase and instead act more like limit breaks, meaning that he won't use them way too often.

The Sword of The Underworld is the embodiment of Spirits, Life and Death. This weapon can control spirits and create them at will. The weapon's force will create ripples that echo through the ground and deal high damage to living entities. The sword allows for altered physical states, allowing the user to seperate their will from their body, allowing for simultaneous attacks on a single target.

As the alchemy starts to complete, you begin to see the tip and edge of a shiny, iridescent blade. Screams echo through your mind as you try to comprehend what sort of monster originally held this blade before it was fragmented. It takes a tremndous amount of willpower to resist the urge to take out the showing tip and shove it in someone to hear their screams, as the swords energy seems to suggest to you. Dark. You look away. As the hilt begins to complete, the urge to kill everyone you see regresses, but the feeling of bloodlust is strong.

This staff is forged in the icy depths of Frostmount. Being near it turns your blood to ice (metaphorically. Literally if close enough). It's proficiency with ice-based magic is only matched by it's menacing history. Many mortals have been corrupted or controlled when wielding this weapon without killing it's owner (flavour). The staff has the ability to steal the souls of the fallen, gaining abilities as enemies die around it, certain ones only after completing a ritual. It calls you to it, like a wolf to it's prey, but the chilling sensation you feel as you approach pulls you back.

What Akron saw in front of it was a being of darkness in its purest form; it paled in comparison to this change.

Arctoae and the Artiquator now also in hand, I stab Akron with both of them, with the Artiquator on the "sub-zero" setting. It encased Akron in ice, and dealt some heavy damage to it. I slipped out unharmed.

The icy encasement bursts into blue flames. It isn't just on the surface, either... it's everywhere in and around the case. Including Akron's location. It was too dangerous for anyone, and I mean ANYONE, INCLUDING Piono, to even get within 1 mile of the encasement.

I take out Ocean Ravager and Spaceleaf Greatsword, and prepare to overgrow Akron (who is still encased in ice and is frostburning at this moment). Frozen bamboo chutes erupt from below Akron, stabbing it multiple thousand times from all angles...

...Piono is powerful... but I will destroy him... next when we fight... you are merely target practice...

Sounds threatening...

The Physics Breaker floats around me... and distorts reality in the ice in such a way that makes it perpetually cold, lightless, heatless, and overall deadly in there. Balance comes to my hands next. I distort the ice enough to bypass the barrier that I created within that ice, and deliver the pain of neutrality; raw, elementless damage that would make anyone numb.

...This isn't over... yet... ehehehehe...

Control has been completely and utterly lost. The darkest reaches of my soul have finally come back to haunt everyone and everything... nothing will stand in the way of madness...

I rushed Akron with my claws, now bigger and sharper than ever. I latch onto Akron, who was still encased with ice and frostfire... I bite at its flesh multiple times with my dark, void-empowered teeth, and breathing void fire into the wounds, creating spaces of nothingness... I slash at it with my wings, which were sharper than blades attached to a jet fighter built for swordsmen. The wounds I created were actually entry points for my deathly tail, which was so venomous, it could kill 2000 of my own kind in a fraction of a second (The average for my kind is also about 20000 times more resilient than a 100% healthy human immune to disease. So the venom can kill 40 million of them in a single drop), which I jabbed straight into Akron's multiple wounds twice over, injecting 2 gallons of poison into every one of them. It's been made apparent... I don't want this thing to live.

...I can't tell if I am... evil... or malevolent... or vengeful... or something else... or a combination... either way... nothing will stand in my way... not anymore...

You've been probably wondering where the rest of my blades were all this time... as it turns out, I've gathered enough energy to unlock Floating Swords immediately... they were all behind me this entire time, slashing away at Akron while I was busy. Full-grown trees erupted where Akron stood thanks to SG, water equivalent to every tsunami the world has ever had flooded from OR, Balance gutted Akron from the inside, Arctoae continuously stabbed everywhere to freeze Akron to sub-zero tempratures, The Artiquator de- and re-frosted it continuously, making it star-core hot and absolutely freezing at the same time.

I spin straight towards Akron, with Black Nothingness poised outwards, ready to strike. Akron thought he could block it with its horn, but I knew better.

The Physics Breaker slowed my perception of time, allowing 20 trillion slashes within a second, followed by a downward plunge into the reaches of Akron... the shock it sent obliterated everything from the entire attack... it tore the fabric of space-time and inter-dimensional planes of existence, tearing through flesh as if it were butter, Akron's death seeming imminent, nothing to dare oppose me, nothing to even belittle me, nothing to destroy me... ever again.

TL;DR version below. If you need any more clarification, let me know (But I think I covered it this time).
First things first, the thing to remember about this upgrade is that you need a relic. Base relics that take a single charge to complete can be used, but typically won't be as powerful as charged ones. Charging up an expedition to find relics will likely reap relics of greater power. However, beware of the potential drawbacks to relic expeditions... things could happen that may or may not alter gameplay. Like the Sharkman Spirits from my first expedition. These immediately impactful expeditions often yield even greater rewards, or even less great ones. Relics are level 1 minimum, as in, they start at Level 1 and increase in level as you work on (charge up) expeditions. The formula:

1. Level = 1+{added charge time * 0.75(Rounded)}+{If hazardous impact, up to +3. No hazard/benefit, 0. If beneficial, can go down infinitely.}
The non-maths version:
-Every point of charge results in a level increase of 0.75 from the starting level, 1. If they are decimal numbers, rounding occurs.
-Levels change depending on hazards (More reward)(hostile entities, cataclysmic attacks that damage all) and benefits (Less reward)(Allied entities, heals). The level differences are more levels (risks) or fewer levels (benefits).
-The max level is 25, like all alchemies.
-The maximum charge times will remain at 33, but hazardous relics can go down to a 29 charge time, if you force one upon yourself. Benefits are be unexpected, and can hamper what you would expect to be a good relic. Increasing the charge times even more would prevent these from happening as often and make them impact the relic less, as less charge would have to be used from the relic's main charge.
-Hazards can guarantee that there will be no benefits, but benefits cannot guarantee that there would be no hazards, meaning both can happen at once in this case.

Next off, the actual alchemy. You can have up to 5 gems/souls/gadgets/other trinkets on a relic at once, making it your own personalized item. However, there MUST be at least one power-providing item (Now indicated with light yellow) and at least ONE other trinket (Light blue). Increasing the number of these will lead to higher level weapons (2. +1.5 per power source, rounded up)(Also note that Power Sources will NEVER affect regular alchemies. Additional power sources will give more effects to a Level 25 alchemy as opposed to increasing its level). There's many things you could do to customize a relic...
-Give it a variety of elements for awesome combinations or one single, more powerful element for some heavy hits.
-Give it different special properties, such as (but not limited to) extending when it's swung (Think Smash Bros' Beam Sword).
-Stat increases. AKA Firing/swinging speed, damage, size...
-Access new abilities, find more ways to kill a man, the possibilities are endless.
-Energy sources can give new effects too. Just not very powerful/active ones.
-If no alchemy could ever do something no matter how much you alchemize it, make it from a relic.
Basically, you can customize them to suit your style. A "Make it yourself" kind of thing.
Thus, you can create crazy combos otherwise thought to be unacheivable.
Your relics may also have some... unplanned effects when charged. Nothing that would destroy the relic, but some other effects that you would have to find out for yourself. But the chances of this happening are VERY unlikely. They can be beneficial or detrimental, of varying strengths. Some may not even matter too much, but others could COMPLETELY change your playstyle, for better or for worse.

For now, here's the alchemy notation:

And finally, the charge times. These times will depend on the level of the base relic + the number of enhancements being put on it. Want a simpler formula? Here:

I hope this is a good formula for everyone. If not, it can be changed, no problem.

Here's an example of a possible MR alchemy process:

Ruin Search Simulation (1/9) (We want this to be a Lv. 8 weapon, so 1 + 0.75 x 8 = 8 + another 1 from the first 1. So, a 9-turn charge is needed.)

Shattered Gladius (Lv. 8) [+-] Frozen Bauble {+1} + Laser Extension {+1} + Enigmatic Mist Bottle {+1} + Energized Energy Sphere {+1 charge time, +1.5 levels} + Void Fuel {+1 charge time, +1.5 levels} = Edge of the Deep Freeze (Lv. 11, 1/14) (Gained 3 levels from the power sources, gained 5 charge time from everything.)(Heck, you could create a fully power-source oriented item and get more levels per point of charge! You need to sacrifice your other slots for those things, though, as you would only have one slot left for a trinket.)

Once the relic is powered up, it can be used just like a normal alchemy, including being used in other alchemies. The effects caused by Trinkets and Tech are far more powerful than on normal alchemies, and the relics themselves tend to have a higher attack power to compensate long charges.

Base Relics: The relics in their old, rusty/broken/etc. form. Are unpowered, but those that are still active they are very unstable. Relics typically go like this: Shattered Gladius (Lv. 8), or {Name}{Level}.

TL;DR (Or, at the very least, shortened): In order to use the upgrade, one MUST get a relic from a dig site. The longer you dig around the site, the more powerful the relic will be, min. level 1, max level 25 (See 1.). Random other events may happen, positive or negative, and those events will change the level of the relic. Thus, you will know the level of your relic.

Any single relic has 5 slots. You can put any trinket or tech in those slots, allowing full customization. One power source and one trinket/tech is required. The rest may be outfitted as you see fit. Power sources increase the level, but provide far less powerful effects. Also, if the relic is Level 25, they will act like Trinkets/Tech, providing effects as opposed to extra levels (See 2.). Trinkets/Tech provide powerful effects, but do not increase the level. All T/T effects are much stronger than normal alchemies. Be wary, that by-products may appear on your relic, for better or for worse, of various strengths...

The more you put on a relic, be them Power Sources or Trinkets/Tech, the greater the charge times will be (See 4.).

After charging, your new weapon can be (normally) alchemized further if you so desire. /endTL;DR(ReadCorrespondingPartsForMoreInfo)

I want these relics to be much different than your regular alchemies, to give the upgrade some sort of use other than just... sitting there collecting dust.

Meet Cataclysm and Cryptic, Cataclysm was that first guy, he's a real heavy hitter, but lacks strategy or utility, the other one is cryptic, who can't deal damage nearly at all, but can aid people in tons of ways, while they each excel in one area they're weakness are plentiful, and they need to re-combine to be powerful.

I rocketjump around Akron with the Gjallarhorn-o'-plenty, confusing him, causing him to shoot his lasers everywhere, even at the Terror Granite Golem. I then jump onto the Aetherian Manned Turret and turn it into a giant rifle-shaped speaker/gravity gun hybrid and fire it at the TGG. The turret is playing Indrick Boreale's infamous speech at a frequency high enough to shatter granite. And it does.

Here's where the gravity gun part comes in.

I carry what is left of the TGG into space and then smash it into AC, accompanied with a few Gjallarhorn-o'-plenty rockets and The Fallen lasers. I then examine the crater where AC used to be.

This staff is forged in the icy depths of Frostmount. Being near it turns your blood to ice (metaphorically. Literally if close enough). It's proficiency with ice-based magic is only matched by it's menacing history. Many mortals have been corrupted or controlled when wielding this weapon without killing it's owner (flavour). The staff has the ability to steal the souls of the fallen, gaining abilities as enemies die around it, certain ones only after completing a ritual. It calls you to it, like a wolf to it's prey, but the chilling sensation you feel as you approach pulls you back.

More powerful spirits can be used in alchemy and alchemies will provide far greater results when spirits are used with them. Spirits will regularly be released into the battlefield of gradually increasing value. I may end up using some more creative way of earning the spirits/mats. $$ is the conjunction used in the alchemy formula.

I stare Akron down with the Sword of the Underworld in hand. Already, my eyes had started to darken, giving me a sinister look. Bags under my eyes deepened, as if I had spent the last 18 hours on a Terraria marathon.

I create a spirit to rise from the ground and root the abomonation in place. My head turns at an otherworldly angle, and I bring the Sword of the Underworld across it's face in one fel swipe. Shadows writhe from the wounds caused by the blade, fiercely preventing the boss from healing. I spin around and slice it repetivtively, until the Curse of RepetitivenessTM takes hold, making sure to slice every empty space possible guaranteeing hitting it's weak point. Finally, I lunge the sword into the beast and twist it, maelvolent spirits hissing and spitting on the creature. I bring out the sword and shadows engulf it. I walk away and leave it writhing in pain.

Smooth moves Aayla.

"Smooves."

Precisely.

All part of the job.

"I guess, but can you stop transforming me into a demon lordess?"

If I did that, you wouldn't have such a powerful weapon. I would say it at LEAST has the power of a level 20 alchemy. You just can't use it as often as you would like.

"You're the narrator aren't you? Just say that it doesn't add Corruption counters anymore."

We haven't quite got the technology for that.

-Withering Beam: Can fire a beam of pure death at one entity, inflicting DOOM on it. Charges in 3 rounds. DOOM debuff lasts 5 rounds.
-Self-destruct: Upon defeat, will explode in the face of any nearby entity/player.

Debuff Database: DOOM: The affected entity will be instantly killed or will take serious damage once the timer runs out. Bosses may be afflicted as well, but will take significantly less damage from it (Max: 10k).

-Adrenaline Rush: When energy is low, and provided the cost, can go into an unstoppable rampage. Increases physical abilities drastically, but reduces mental abilities. Cost to activate: 50% of HP/SHP, over 200K/24. Can activate in Strife/arena.
-Spirit Mode: When energy is low, and provided the cost, can become one with the spirit, thus becoming one. Increases mental abilities drastically, but reduces physical abilities. Cost to activate: 50% of HP/SHP, over 200K/24. Can activate in Strife/arena.
-Obliterate: When used, this ability may instantly kill any non-boss entity (5%) or deal massive damage to it (70%). It may also deal very little however (25%).

TL;DR version below. If you need any more clarification, let me know (But I think I covered it this time).
First things first, the thing to remember about this upgrade is that you need a relic. Base relics that take a single charge to complete can be used, but typically won't be as powerful as charged ones. Charging up an expedition to find relics will likely reap relics of greater power. However, beware of the potential drawbacks to relic expeditions... things could happen that may or may not alter gameplay. Like the Sharkman Spirits from my first expedition. These immediately impactful expeditions often yield even greater rewards, or even less great ones. Relics are level 1 minimum, as in, they start at Level 1 and increase in level as you work on (charge up) expeditions. The formula:

1. Level = 1+{added charge time * 0.75(Rounded)}+{If hazardous impact, up to +3. No hazard/benefit, 0. If beneficial, can go down infinitely.}
The non-maths version:
-Every point of charge results in a level increase of 0.75 from the starting level, 1. If they are decimal numbers, rounding occurs.
-Levels change depending on hazards (More reward)(hostile entities, cataclysmic attacks that damage all) and benefits (Less reward)(Allied entities, heals). The level differences are more levels (risks) or fewer levels (benefits).
-The max level is 25, like all alchemies.
-The maximum charge times will remain at 33, but hazardous relics can go down to a 29 charge time, if you force one upon yourself. Benefits are be unexpected, and can hamper what you would expect to be a good relic. Increasing the charge times even more would prevent these from happening as often and make them impact the relic less, as less charge would have to be used from the relic's main charge.
-Hazards can guarantee that there will be no benefits, but benefits cannot guarantee that there would be no hazards, meaning both can happen at once in this case.

Next off, the actual alchemy. You can have up to 5 gems/souls/gadgets/other trinkets on a relic at once, making it your own personalized item. However, there MUST be at least one power-providing item (Now indicated with light yellow) and at least ONE other trinket (Light blue). Increasing the number of these will lead to higher level weapons (2. +1.5 per power source, rounded up)(Also note that Power Sources will NEVER affect regular alchemies. Additional power sources will give more effects to a Level 25 alchemy as opposed to increasing its level). There's many things you could do to customize a relic...
-Give it a variety of elements for awesome combinations or one single, more powerful element for some heavy hits.
-Give it different special properties, such as (but not limited to) extending when it's swung (Think Smash Bros' Beam Sword).
-Stat increases. AKA Firing/swinging speed, damage, size...
-Access new abilities, find more ways to kill a man, the possibilities are endless.
-Energy sources can give new effects too. Just not very powerful/active ones.
-If no alchemy could ever do something no matter how much you alchemize it, make it from a relic.
Basically, you can customize them to suit your style. A "Make it yourself" kind of thing.
Thus, you can create crazy combos otherwise thought to be unacheivable.
Your relics may also have some... unplanned effects when charged. Nothing that would destroy the relic, but some other effects that you would have to find out for yourself. But the chances of this happening are VERY unlikely. They can be beneficial or detrimental, of varying strengths. Some may not even matter too much, but others could COMPLETELY change your playstyle, for better or for worse.

For now, here's the alchemy notation:

3. [Relic, Level X] [+-] [Object 1] + [Object 2] + [Object 3]... = [Powered relic, Level X]

And finally, the charge times. These times will depend on the level of the base relic + the number of enhancements being put on it. Want a simpler formula? Here:
4. {Base Level+1}+{Upgrade 1 (1)}+{Upgrade 2(1)}+{Upgrade 3(1)}...={Charge Time}
I hope this is a good formula for everyone. If not, it can be changed, no problem.

Here's an example of a possible MR alchemy process:

Ruin Search Simulation (1/9) (We want this to be a Lv. 8 weapon, so 1 + 0.75 x 8 = 8 + another 1 from the first 1. So, a 9-turn charge is needed.)

Shattered Gladius (Lv. 8) [+-] Frozen Bauble {+1} + Laser Extension {+1} + Enigmatic Mist Bottle {+1} + Energized Energy Sphere {+1 charge time, +1.5 levels} + Void Fuel {+1 charge time, +1.5 levels} = Edge of the Deep Freeze (Lv. 11, 1/14) (Gained 3 levels from the power sources, gained 5 charge time from everything.)(Heck, you could create a fully power-source oriented item and get more levels per point of charge! You need to sacrifice your other slots for those things, though, as you would only have one slot left for a trinket.)

Once the relic is powered up, it can be used just like a normal alchemy, including being used in other alchemies. The effects caused by Trinkets and Tech are far more powerful than on normal alchemies, and the relics themselves tend to have a higher attack power to compensate long charges.

Base Relics: The relics in their old, rusty/broken/etc. form. Are unpowered, but those that are still active they are very unstable. Relics typically go like this: Shattered Gladius (Lv. 8), or {Name}{Level}.

TL;DR (Or, at the very least, shortened): In order to use the upgrade, one MUST get a relic from a dig site. The longer you dig around the site, the more powerful the relic will be, min. level 1, max level 25 (See 1.). Random other events may happen, positive or negative, and those events will change the level of the relic. Thus, you will know the level of your relic.

Any single relic has 5 slots. You can put any trinket or tech in those slots, allowing full customization. One power source and one trinket/tech is required. The rest may be outfitted as you see fit. Power sources increase the level, but provide far less powerful effects. Also, if the relic is Level 25, they will act like Trinkets/Tech, providing effects as opposed to extra levels (See 2.). Trinkets/Tech provide powerful effects, but do not increase the level. All T/T effects are much stronger than normal alchemies. Be wary, that by-products may appear on your relic, for better or for worse, of various strengths...

See 3. for alchemy notation.

The more you put on a relic, be them Power Sources or Trinkets/Tech, the greater the charge times will be (See 4.).

After charging, your new weapon can be (normally) alchemized further if you so desire. /endTL;DR(ReadCorrespondingPartsForMoreInfo)

I want these relics to be much different than your regular alchemies, to give the upgrade some sort of use other than just... sitting there collecting dust.

Abiit: And now we begin moving into the more... interesting of the elemental alchemies. Abiit is infused with the powers of the void. While wielding it travel unshielded through the Void empowers you, rather than harming you at a fundamental level as it usually will. Additionally, you can bring up miniature voids, slice holes through the space-time continuum, and basically rip other powers to shreds by voiding their hold on what's happening. Oh, and it grants pretty darn near perfect shielding from omniscient beings too, so that's a plus.
