=TURN FOURTY-ONE=
The Sleuth takes (150) damage from the Cabin. He manages to live with 1 HP thanks to Determination (but mostly anger) and then promptly flips the gorilla out. ag: The Sleuth starts shrieking. "WHAT THE HELL." ag: "THAT WAS MY HOUSE!" Suddenly, his watery wings glow with green energy, and the room is bathed in a green light. When the blinding light fades, you find that the Sleuth has come back MUCH stronger than before, (but with less HP) and he's ready to get REVENGE. The Deity Illusions also revive (or heal) and are also ready to join in on the maybe-slaughter. Whatever it is, you're gonna have a very, very bad time. Firing the Stone Altar right now could be highly fatal to your well-being. His Praise Deity attacks now hit for (15) damage each; avoid them at all costs now! He also damages everyone within Range 3 for (3) damage each turn as well. Kill him now, before it gets worse! Originally posted on 2015-11-15 02:20:00 -------------------- |

What the heck? How does he have Determination and not be melting or taking some sort of burn effect right now? He is a monster. Really he should be melting. If he isn't, then you lied and Determination isn't what kept him alive. Toast moves to J6 and looks at Piono. It fills him with Determination. (and fills Toast with Augument)
(I don't want Anarchy to proc on Piono while he is augumented then have him one-shot any of us. Originally posted on 2015-11-15 03:59:00 |

...Welp, I may or may not have screwed myself. But, thankfully, half-health is all I need for a finisher. I use Finisher on Helix! I charge at Helix, and smash my axe down on it multiple times before breathing fire on it, and curbstomping it back into the ground where it belongs... even if it's only an illusion.
Oooh boy... someone hit Sleuth once, or I'm taking a hefty blow! As are many others! Make sure he's in Helix form. It's not so bad for me, but 15 damage can RUIN anyone else in range! ...Well, effectively it's that plus a bit more, but who cares. Patch just looks dazed at what just happened. He still hasn't fully adjusted to DTG LogicTM yet.
I...um... ...Did we really throw a house at him? I...think I need to process this. Just...hit the Sleuth guy again from where I am. I just...I can't. The Sleuth is a Minecraftian and one of the Ancestors...Which is human enough. Though technically it's a memory OF a Minecraftian. Either way, IT'S CLOSE ENOUGH FOR IT TO WORK.
First off, everyone, new passive: He'll do (small) damage to anything in Range 3. Range 4 is now the golden zone, so if you can hit from there, try to! 3 is still preferable to within 2 or beyond 5! Also, I had regrets about tossing the house at him...But ah well. Heroic Mode! Sepulchrituuuuuuuuude!! ![]() ...Uh, OK, first things first, we can kind of ignore the Dome Illusion for now, so just focus-fire on the Sleuth to get him down as low as feasible! Everyone, coordinate hits: We want JUST enough blows to flip him to Helix form by the time we're done damaging him so the majority of us are not obliterated by Praise Dome and Charge. Range 4 is still safe, so if you can hit from there, try to! Just in case, MAKE SURE you're not cardinal from the Sleuth if he's in Domeform, otherwise he might insta-kill combob you. Patch, Teag, Toast, that means you guys! Being who I am, my strategy is relatively simple. I fling a Shuriken/Card at the Sleuth and back up to J4, which is Range 4 from the Sleuth if I count it right, just out of range of Praise Dome/Helix/Pulchritude, meaning no damage from those particular attacks. At this point, he should be in Domeform counting Patch's hit. Let's try to get him into Helix form by the time he gets to attack. Unless it doesn't work that way, I'm still kind of confused about it. Slightly. Originally posted on 2015-11-15 07:33:00 |

Just to be a douche, I load the skeleton into the slingshot and fire that at the Sleuth too.

I should probably guard... but YOLO!
I stab the Helix Illusion yet again. (May Lord Helix forgive me...) I then retreat to B5! (Edit: Ire, the Slingshot still says that the cabin is loaded in it... you should probably fix that...) Originally posted on 2015-11-15 17:04:00 -------------------- It was inevitable.

EDIT: Another note...I just realized this. What's with those barrier tiles? It's like they're blocking the way to the exit-most probable description-but if that's there, the barrier is implied to go away...It's weird, though. If the barrier exists, there's either a generator lying around that we could theoretically destroy (but I doubt it) or this isn't the whole boss fight and something ELSE is going to come to ruin our day after killing him (possibly even midway through), but the Sleuth will deactivate the barrier on death so we can just move ahead and hopefully skip fighting the guy. Hopefully whatever it is is optional or bonus-boss-ish. Or, alternatively, the barrier tiles are just for flavor and I'm really overthinking this. Originally posted on 2015-11-15 18:31:00 |

I move to D8 and attack the Dome Illusion realizing that it won't hurt too bad, only taking a tiny third of my HP.

Right now, he's in Helix form.
Willow moves to D7 and attacks the Dome Illusion. Wilson stays where he is and fires two foxfire blasts at the Sleuth (which each count as individual attacks, so it should keep him in Helix). One blast uses Sanda to drain MP and the other uses Kasai to inflict a burn. While that will make him swap more often, it will reduce his damage. I also really don't care if my characters take damage. They have enough health. @Undertale: I've now watched some videos of Undertale (about an hour of it), and I think it's a charming and innovative game. Although, I didn't really doubt that and I still don't want to buy it. It also feels like most of the encounters are set up as specific puzzles where there's one 'right' (peaceful) solution and one 'wrong' (violent) solution. It becomes rather easy to just follow the solution if you run into the same enemy multiple times. Oh yeah, and that colored floor puzzle fake out with Sans and What'sHisFace? I wanted that to be an actual puzzle and it would have been pretty cool. But I was disappointed. 3rd edit: How many people would want to play my version of this game's initial test quest? I have the ideas for most of the combat down, and it's not much like this. It's focused on what methods you use to solve an encounter rather than solving it in the first place. .... Hint: It's based off a (semi) RPG where no one has to die. ... I'll even probably throw in some of Undertale's mechanics to mix it up. Wow. Such dead much not being revived. You guys suck I'm going home.
![]() Anyways, I'm researching a broken build. I'd need about 3 more parts: Maggy's Bow, a Regen Aura, and the True Mage Robes. The Rifle might actually be a really good match with this build, seeing as Ire's said the reloading is automatic. However, my mana would end up slowly draining, though not to a particularly noticeable extent, and I could probably replace heals with guards if it came down to that. First turn: Do a weak attack on any enemy/ shoot them. Second turn: Heal, restoring all of my HP( 10-12 times 2 is 20-24, and I only have 20 HP, so even a worst case scenario would fully heal me.). Mana regens proc, causing effective cost to be halved. Reload also happens, probably? Third turn: Do another weak attack/ shooting something. Mana regen procs again, undoing cost of Heal spell. Fourth turn: Heal again if necessary. Rinse, repeat, murder. Okay, this isn't actually the best, but it's still pretty good. Maybe in the future where better items are made. Anyways, I'd probably like to join your sidequest, but I might not have the time to fully understand it. Originally posted on 2015-11-16 02:02:00 |
