The Wisp pops over to J10 while Emericald trots to E12. The Wisp uses Energy Channel on the Knight, and Emericald then casts Blizzard Aura on the Wisp, spawning an Apocalypse Rune on K10.

Trecim Oshidian, vamprobabilitant OSHA inspector extraordinaire, joins the game! Their characterization probably isn't going to super matter and they're really more of a CoN character concept than a Limboquest one but it's there in their bio if anybody wants to read it.

They spawn on J14, and move three squares up and one square diagonally up and right to K10. They cast Focus Energy on themself as a bonus action, take 10 damage to spawn Exposed Machinery on J9, and then use their Weapon Skill on the Knight, benefitting from its Fire weakness and his 170% Fire resistance and blasting them two squares down to I11 before they hit the barricade and stop.

A pause is felt in the very fabric of reality, although absolutely no one on the battlefield would notice or care. Then, something appears, as if from nothing, on the square I14. It looks like a human with a T shirt of some anime, shorts, and brown hair. Then his appearance seems to shift in a mess that looks as if space became composed of rectangles for a moment, and then he is wearing a scouter and a cloak, with a circular device which appears to be a shield strapped to his arm. The shield has a symbol that appears to be a circle of interlocking circles.

He glitches out slightly as he says this, a strange aura surrounding him as he does so.

After saying that garbled nonsense that no one understands, he rushes over to E10, where he immediately holds the shield thing so that it points across the cover square at Sniper1 on E8. He then presses a button, and a small metal top shoots out straight towards the sniper, while a metal cylinder pops out of the rapidly vanishing shield, seeming to slam him in the face before he suddenly seems to be holding it, with a light blade coming out of its end.

{Practical version of that mess: Character spawns on I14, goes over to E10, Casts Focus Energy as a Bonus Action for 15-2 MP due to SPC stat, and then proceeds to activate the Alchemize Weapon Skill, targetting the beyblade to shoot out at the Sniper on E8. Also, he uses his free action square cancellation cancels to cancel all available squares from H7-H12, G7-G10, and F11, E11, and D11.}

Battle - Replicated Forest

Monnobaki's compound eyes widen a little when she hears the administrator over the... whatever sound system is being used to broadcast into the area. Her sister seems a tad more preoccupied with other things right now, though.

"A simulation..."

There's a pause.

"Sister, I don't think we're meant to be here. We're apparently in a-"

"I heard. It's not really relevant to me. However..."

The sisters fully turn their attention to one another for a brief time.

"If it's a simulation like that person said, those... things over there are likely some heretical artificial intelligence."

"They look the part. But... This raises a lot of questions. We're supposed to be in the Shroud. So either this means AI have now found a way to breach..."

"Have fun figuring that one out. They shouldn't be able to do that even if the Zroni appeared to them in person and gave them a Psionic Archive."

Monnobaki doesn't have anything else to say, returning to silence, while Veldanura gets back to work...

Veldanura moves to G11 and hacks at Soldier2, then retreats to duck behind cover at F10.

Zalek puts his mark on the Knight, before moving to G12 and firing his Gunblade at the Knight.

FF: Hey! Catch!

Firefly fires her mortar at... no one in particular. A voice beeps out from her headset.

???: Oh dear. Do at least try to aim a little first. Rerouting projectile...

The shell changes course in midair and slams down into the unwitting Sniper from above.

• Basic Attack Sniper1 (+32% damage, Unavoidable, +15 CRT).
• Protowell Seeker during Regen.

Jimi angrily grumbles under his breath, something about forgetting to calibrate his equipment beforehand or something to that effect.

Jimi: Bah! Nothing to worry about now!
Jimi: There's still fun to be had here!

Jimi fires his Gunblade at the Knight, and uses Heavy Artillery to reload his mortar.

Chunk laughs from his position on top of Slim. "Let's teach 'em why we're the best! CHAAAAAAARGE!"

After a moment of clutching his ears, Slim groans. "Right in the ear!"

"Oh," says Chunk, "sorry."

Slim n' Chunk sprint to H9, then use their Trample passive to hit Trooper3 with The Tickler. If it's dead, they hit the Knight.

Turn Three! A whole lot of foes have spawned- do note that no more will be spawning! Take them down.

Some tips: The Scorches have some Fire Splash ready to rip through your ranks. Try to taunt them or just kill them.

The Sagittarius similarly have Splash damage ready, as well as Smog which will make them VERY hard to kill- I would highly recommend finding a way to prevent them from ever casting Watchful Eye, as it will be very damaging to the group.

The Witch scoffs at the Saggitarius near her.

???: Nice toys. Shame you won't get to use them!

The Witch snaps her fingers, casting Mental Ray - Feeblemind on Saggitarius1! This completely locks them out of their spells! She retreats to (L16).

With that highly meaningful statement-series out of the way, Scope Creep does a somersault, flinging the nearby corpse to J9, then darts forwards-left and flings a second knife at the same Rainling. Jerking back as if that throwing-knife was a handheld rocket launcher, it comes to a stop at K9, dragged to a halt by its back scraping against the adjacent Thorn-patch. As it twists to free itself, a spray of thorns and brambles are dragged out of the patch and scattered wildly, somehow containing a sufficient quantity of materials to form additional thorn-patches at O13, O7, L7, H6, I5 and O10 without diminishing the source-patch in any way, and the remaining momentum of its spin moves Scope Creep to K10.

In normal people words: Scope Creep moves to K9(Remember, Protowell Seeker gives Swift for 1). it brings its corpse along, and casts Thorn Patch again (O13, O7, L7, H6, I5, and O10), then retreats to K10.
the Sunling moves to G14 and kills Byte5.

FF: Woohoo! Nice one, Fusee!
Fusee: The Sagitarii appear to possess smoke-based defenses. Bypass them.
FF: You got it!

• Move to H14.
• Flare centered on O12, spending +50% MP for +1 Splash. (Blind5,2), (Ensnared4,2), and FF Mark to Byte1, Byte2, Eye1, Eye2, and Sagg1.

Parsnip takes advantage of his Abyssal Breathing and scooches over to G16 and Meditates.

plume clouds of phantasmal cosmic dream stuff surround him as he reaches into the cosmic wellspring to draw up mana, protecting him even as he stands still.

The Rainling moves to G11 and than blasts Scorch2 with its attack.

Meios looks at the Medic attempting to raise the Sniper, and stabs it.

"No. Don't do that."

Then he stabs it again.

"Knock it off."

When the Medic doesn't respond, he sighs and disappears. A large number of Wireframes and Wireframe corpses in the area are suddenly slashed to ribbons. Then Meios manifests again, a few feet away.

"I told you to knock it off. You should have listened."

Meios then licks his knife idly. What an edgelord.


ACTION:

Meios casts Whirling Blades again, traveling to K6, J7, I6, H6, and then I6 again.

Trecim moves to J9 and casts Whirling Blades, moving up to J6, up-left to I5, left to H5, and down to H6. This hits Scorch1, Face1, Medic1, Sagg2, and Byte3. Then they create Bad Ergonomics on I7.

Blaster moves to L5, and casts Riposte, Taunting Medic1!

Emericald moves to L13. The Wisp moves to M13, targeting the Sagittarius with Energy Drain. The Wisp then ticks Blizzard Aura to kill Byte1. Emericald then casts Roaming Blizzard on the O13 Thorn Patch, dealing (11-11) Ice damage to Eye2 and the Sagittarius, and spawning an Apocalypse Rune on P13.

Jimi: Alright! I'm fully loaded!
Jimi: You might want to cover your ears for this one!

Jimi moves to H14 and casts Toxin Coating, choosing Silence as the status effect. His mortar seems to spark a bit, before a bright blue shell screeches toward Saggitarius2, exploding with a brilliant light and loud report.

Zalek selfcasts Vampiric Venom before moving to H9, using his Gunblade to slice Scorch1 down.

Percy still seems dumbfounded. "Are they really shooting me?" Um... yeah? "Huh..." Percy shrugs. "I guess the Chrome Lord is on holiday." Something like that.

"So, what are the tactics here anyways?" Great question! You should Google that. "The Lord is on holiday, remember?" There's a reason I have to look up when Mother's Day is every year. "My mom's name is C++." Ookay? Random. "We've never gotten along very well." Why's that? "We don't speak the same language." [INSERT CANNED LAUGHTER].

"But seriously. How should we deal with these defilers?" Um... keep getting punched in the face and hope somebody deals with the problem first. "That's a terrible plan." What? No it's not! "Yes it is. I could die!" Well, yeah, but then I won't have to deal with you! "I see..."

You know, if you want to be really strategic, you can try to get punched in the face by that Sagitarius guy! "...Okay?" Percy looks around, trying to find his target. Unfortunately, there's a Face, a forest, and a corpse in the way!

"...I'm not seeing it." Don't you have Google Maps or something? "THE LORD IS ON VACATION!" And He couldn't leave you His map? "HE NEEDED IT TO FIND HIS DESTINATION!" But the best vacations are about the journey, not the destination. "You're telling me you'd be okay if God just... went missing?" Yeah! Pretty much. "I see..."

Anyways, the Sagitarius thing is over there. Just point your shield at it and say something mean.

Percy frowns. "Something mean? Like..." He searches for a solid burn. Doesn't get much. The Lord is on vacation. But eventually, he comes up with a real zinger. And by "a real zinger," I mean not that at all. "Like, making fun of them because Zodiac signs aren't real...?"

Suddenly, Percy senses himself getting a bad Yelp review. He gets nervous. "Oh dear..." I think the Sagittarius heard you.

Shaking, Percy raises his shield, Guarding himself from Saggitarius2, which got taunted by his weapon skill.

Your greatest skill is your insensitivity, isn't it Percy? "I had a neglectful mother." Uh huh...
