Hello! This is a sort of Test Game for an idea i'd like to try.
Do keep in mind, this is a bit of an experiment, so how this may have some growing pains, but I have hope that this will be an interesting and fun experience for everyone who participates Here's how this game will be played, you get two actions per turn Actions will follow an RTD format for simplicity sake, however certain actions won't require rolls, said actions being, Moving to a different location (However moving into enemy territory does require a roll) giving orders to entities under your command Creating Charge Points Charge Points can be used to create entities one point of charge is equal to 1000 HP or 200 ATK Special abilities will be priced on a case by case basis Entities that are the same can group up Players all have Ten PH(Player Health) which will go down by one every time you are damaged, and can be replenished using actions To start, simply say which faction you join Upon joining, you will start at The Fortress of the Faction you joined You can change faction later, but please discuss it with me first I will be trying to keep faction power balanced, so if a lot of players join a specific faction, i'll give the other factions a boost the Factions you can join are [RED] Red [BLU] Blue [PUR] Purple Also, feel free to roleplay, in fact i'd encourage it. Anyways, let's begin, ----An Aside, Mechanics---- Upon Destroying an ORB, all remaining ORBs gain an equal boost in max health divided from the Defeated ORBs health pool, they will also become stronger If you put Charge into actions that require rolls, CRIT FAILS, Fails, and Overshoots are much stronger, while successes will similarly be strengthened ---- Three Orbs containing unfathomable Power have finally activated in some unknown pocket dimension. What are they for? Why do they want to destroy eachother? That isn't really known. What is known, is that they have begun summoning people like you, Descendents, to assist in their struggle against eachother So let us see who is The Strongest and The Smartest AREAS: RED Fortress (Owned by [RED])(connected to Desert)

I join [BLU] and roll into the Taiga.
A1: I attempt to build a treehouse in some of the conifers around the BLUE Orb fortress entrance, for advantageous positioning reasons. A2: Well, we should also build some walls to prevent foes from just walking to the thing. I gather miscellaneous wood, stone, loose earth, etc. and build a wall around the BLUE fortress entrance. Protection and HP it is? -------------------- Are you a Homestuck? Join us in RVAU, where the games only stop out of character! https://discord.gg/QMUrzwn

I attempt to join BLU because Blue is the best color but promptly bounce off of Nedben and land in the next closest color instead, PUR.
Feeling rather annoyed, I climb out of the fortress weather vane I landed in, and prepare to do battle. A1: I move into the Plains. The Battlefield seems like it will be critical. A2: I begin clearing out an area, flattening some of the land from "plain" to "smooth", which will, hopefully, enable me to build something cool there next round. -------------------- Once upon a time there was a story...

I appear and join RED, since, BLU and PUR both already have players.
A1: I move to the Desert to join the RED Soldiers. A2: I then move ahead of the Soldiers to the Battlefield. Securing it early on will be crucial, so I want to get there first. |

I join BLU, thereby destabilising a situation in which the 3 factions could fight among themselves for all eternity.
A1:I weep for the BLUE Soldiers who are unlikely to survive, dapping my eyes with flameproof handkerchieves. They still promptly catch on fire but are immediately destabilised into quantum foam before much can happen. Anyway, I also provide a Last Supper for the soldiers, empty stomachs probably wouldn’t do them much good. A2: CHARGE:1 |

A1: I join [CYN], or Cyan, just to be extra. I may not have a colored orb... or a fortress..., but I'll get to that! Maybe!
If joining a faction which doesn't exist is a free action, I spend this action doing the same thing as my next action, increasing the yield thereof. A2: the rules of the game say certain actions do not require rolls. for instance: Creating Charge Points However, this rule is listed in the plural. therefore, creating A Charge Point would require a roll. Also, therefore, creating a plural quantity of charge points in one action does not require a roll, and implicitly, is something you can do. I create a nonspecific but plural quantity of Charge Points! [This is a shenanigan, aiming to use the exact wording of the rules to charge more times than normal.] |

You fortify the BLUE Fortress using the local resources ROLL: 3(+1)=4 SUCCESS You successfully build up more defenses at the entrance of the Fortress, this causes enemy factions to take a -1 penalty when they attempt to enter the Fortress.
You move into the plains and start trying to flatten out the area ROLL: 3(+1)=4 SUCCESS You Flatten out an area, setting a smooth foundation to build upon, granting +1 to rolls made to build constructs in the Plains area
You lead the charge into the barrens that is the battlefield.
You mourn the inevitable loss of the brave soldiers fighting for the BLUE ORB, this doesn't really do anything, but it's that thought that counts, which awards you with a point of charge, bringing your charge point total to two.
You join the [CYN] faction! Sadly, the [CYN] Faction does not exist, so you become [N]eutral instead, causing you to spawn in the middle of the battlefield. You attempt to game the system in order to produce more charge points. ROLL: 2(+1)=3 PARTIAL SUCCESS You manage to discover that you, cannot, in fact, game the system, but gain a single charge point for your troubles. ---EOTB--- The Three groups of soldiers enter the battlefield. The BLUE and PURPLE groups are mildly disorganized, but not particularly hindered by such, With Redoubt leading the RED Soldiers, they seem to have organized themselves a bit better than the other groups, but it isn't particularly advantageous. Stood somewhere in the middle of the approaching armies is JOEbob, an enigmatic stranger who attempted to join a faction that does not exist. The RED soldiers attack the BLU soldiers, defeating two of their group, @redoubtableEagle Both the BLU and PURPLE Soldiers focus on attacking Redoubt! You can counter both with a ROLL, a creative dodge/counter action, or simply take the one damage, up to you AREAS Battlefield (Contested!)(Connected to Plains, Taiga, and Desert)

A1: I collect the spirits of the fallen BLUE soldiers, using them to create a necromantic working around the battlefield to collect the spirits of the future dead, restricting withdrawals to myself.
A2: if I messed up the first time, I try again! If I succeeded the first time, I anchor the working to a series of runic carvings, protecting it from simple dispelling effects. |

The battle has begun, and the enemy commanders are nowhere to be seen! We must grasp this advantage and make the most of it while we can.
A1: The BLU and PUR soldiers charge forwards at me! However, they failed to account for one critical detail. As Players such as myself act before Entities like the soldiers, I got here before anyone else, and as such I had some precious time to set a trap while the soldiers were still en route! The ground gives way below the BLU and PUR soldiers, and before they can react they find themselves falling uncontrollably into a large pit! A2: As the soldiers try to get their bearings, I give them no chance to do so as I drop a large handful of frag grenades down into the hole, all with their pins pulled and ready to detonate. Once the grenades have detonated, I call for the RED soldiers to follow up by firing at the enemies in the hole before they have a chance to recover from my attack. |

(x1)I perform Research and Development, on the viability of better training for BLUE Entities. I think we need to actually give them a space to train as well as a training programme…

A1: I lob a super speaky-tube out to the PUR soldiers in the battlefield. The thing tells them to beat a retreat back into the Plains! They're currently moderately outgunned and with the enemy team fully commanded there's not much of a chance of victory here.
A2: With the foundations laid, I spread out me hands, and a huge wave of trees grows up from the ground. I then engage BUILD MODE and rapidly convert all of the trees into fence blocks. This will provide a significant obstacle to enemies trying to get into the area, requiring them to get past the fence to assault things further in (such as the foundations, and the soldiers who will hopefully be making their way back) I also offer to pay JOE in his weight in cheese (or whichever his personally preferred snackfood is) if he works to keep the current fight in the Battlefield going as long as possible without a victor. -------------------- Once upon a time there was a story...

0A: I inform Pionoplayer that my preferred snackfood is, of course, cakes. and I agree to put a modicum of effort towards that aim, but of course if it should be in contravention with the advancement of the Cyan faction I shall prioritise the Cyan Faction.

You stab yourself with a stand arrow, and... ROLL: 1 CRITICAL FAIL Realize too late that you don't actually have the power to gain a stand and suffer consequences. That being, absurd levels of agony. You take one damage, you are in too much pain to deduce how much a stand would actually cost, so instead you get a free charge point for your trouble.
You collect the souls of the fallen BLUE Soldiers and weave them into a Necromantic construct, ROLL: 5 CRITICAL SUCCESS However, your ritual results in something much stronger than intended... you create a powerful Soul-Catching Array that will collect the souls of every entity that dies on the battlefield! You then attempt to create a runic shield to protect it! ROLL: 1 CRITICAL FAIL You use the wrong runes entirely disrupting the Array... but the Soul-Catcher holds! Despite being damaged, it still works.
Creative Counter, ROLL bypassed The BLUE and PURPLE Soldiers scuffle in the newly made pit You toss down a bunch of grenades, dealing 1000 damage to both, killing another BLUE soldier and a PURPLE Soldier. The Red Soldiers will do as you say.
You ruminate on making the BLUE Soldiers better... ROLL: 1(+1)=2 FAILURE Sadly, it doesn't seem like you can improve them... yet... maybe if you interact with the ORB it could do something? You charge
You Command the PURPLE Soldiers to retreat, they quickly start climbing out of the pit they got stuck in and focus on getting back to the Plains You start building up a fence! ROLL: 1(+1)=2 FAILURE ... The Fence falls apart... annoying, but at least it won't get in the way of your troops?
You will always spawn, and respawn at your faction's main base. Welcome to the game, Splash! You charg ---EOTB--- The PURPLE Soldiers are making a hasty retreat! The BLUE Soldiers attack the retreating PURPLEs! The RED Soldiers, in turn, attack the BLUEs still in the Pit! The Soul-Catching Array catches the Souls of the dead Soldiers. The ORBs begin creating more Troops... the RED ORB simply makes more Soldiers, along with the BLUE ORB The PURPLE ORB creates Medics AREAS Battlefield (Contested!)(Connected to Plains, Taiga, and Desert)

A1, 1 Charge: I spend a charge, and this action, to upgrade the Soul-Catching Array so its collected souls can be spent- by it, not me- to empower the SCA (mostly for greater health.); any excess power is spent on increasing the health of the SCA directly.
A2: shocked at my critical failure last round, I begin training my mana manipulation abilities, aiming gain resistance or immunity to magical critical failures! the possibility of doing exactly the opposite of what I want to do with terrifying power is a bit... bad for planning, really. |

(x1)I consider constructing an actual research Base, and than just do it, it probably will pay for itself in the long run.
(x1) Choosing to not actually charge for once, I instead consult the ORB inside the Lab(if it's built) to see about improving soliders, or maybe creating medics. Honestly it would be a miracle if I don't get blown up considering my abysmal luck in most cases. |

A1+A2: BLU has lost half their soldiers, and it's time to finish off the rest! Curling my fingers, I place both my hands at chest-level facing outward (such that the palm of one hand is on the back of another).
"Galick Gun..." Ki begins to gather in the palm of my front-most hand, and after about ten seconds of charging, the attack is ready. "FIRE!" I thrust both hands forward, and a beam of roaring fuchsia Ki erupts from my palms. The beam races towards the BLU Soldiers, still trying to climb out of the pit. The Galick Gun explodes on impact, creating a large crater where the BLU Soldiers once were. Satisfied with my work, I order the RED Soldiers to pick off any survivors. The PUR forces get away, but that's alright. They can be dealt with later. |

A1: I get annoyed, and buy an entire fence of the make and model I wanted last round and slam it down in the plains to do what it was intended last round. I give it a very stern talking to about not falling prey to critical failures to make sure it does what it's told this time.
A2: If I get a critical failure anyways I hammer the control Z button to undo the mess made by my first action. If I do not get a critical failure I instead charge a single point. -------------------- Once upon a time there was a story...
