In the beginning, God created the world.
In the beginning, the Titans forged the world.
In the beginning, the world created itself.
In the beginning, Vessel self-destructed.
In the beginning, there was no beginning, because it is only an illusion.
In the beginning, everything exploded.
In the beginning, mankind created God from chaos.
In the beginning, the primordial chaos settled into foundations.
There was at some point a beginning, or several revisions ago a suitable facsimile thereof.
In the beginning somebody built a worldgen script and here we are.
Ostensibly, there was a time loop ray knot acting as origin to our spiral.
In the beginning everyone died and the process was executed.
Whatever the case, as usual it has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

These disagreeing origins have gotten together and misbegotten a disaster that resembles a wargame, interpreted by someone who hasn't played or balanced wargames. You usually have to love a genre to do it deconstructive violence, and love is beyond the purview of those who gathered there that day.

No advance knowledge is necessary to play or vote: we are alpha-testing some mechanics and narratives. Posting while having no idea what's going on is perfectly acceptable. Relevant information will be revealed later, including major sections of the rules. Consider it black box testing, for now. The overall assembly pitch is sort of like Erfworld slapped through a tabletop RPG engine for dice resolution, but not that closely. Updates and rebalances occur in-universe as well as out-of-universe, though not exactly with parity.

One hundred Royalty and a smattering of other idiots (scratch that, 99 Royalty now, I think that guy died of logical incoherence) have scattered themselves across the Setting Name Currently Subject To Disagreement. They stand as emissaries and adjutants to the Sus, beings who are accused of everything from creating the world to being the swine people refer to in 'pearls before swine'.

Give us a few tones of fantasy and themes for their arsenal...there. A weak spot. Maybe we can sub in for that dead guy before we need to reload the game.

...Well, it wouldn't be a Nedben game if you didn't get a gazillion choices you didn't need and didn't understand. Each with impacts tangential to what the vote is nominally about, for that matter.

Here. Let me cut down a few pieces for you. Pick a path. As always, you may ask questions but the answers have no guarantees of making sense. This choice I'll position first, since it will be a pretty big constraint on character creation.

[ ] ROYALTY
Replace the 100th Royal, who was no longer mechanically coherent by this revision. You, or technically your proxy character as needed, will receive his city site and reformat it into something acceptable. The strongest, but restrained by a number of design factors and mandates from heaven.

[ ] OVERLORD
There are a number of open sites without the starting bonuses or obligations of divine right kingship. Slightly or significantly behind, but you should still start with a capital city in the works.

[ ] WANDERER
WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE A ROCK
I cannot suppress my superiors for long. They are suggesting dumb things again. This isn't a trap, but it does make you a bit of a proxy. You can decide to start as unaffiliated, but that's expensive and much more dangerous. Details depend on subsequent choices.

[ ] ADVISOR
OH BOY I LOVE THOSE
We will give the others a few turns to become stable and then emplace you. You will have a much smaller strategic focus depending on what type of advisor you are, but it will be much less overwhelming and paranoid to start later.

[ ] ACTUALLY WAIT
I do have one regret-

Vote in standard [X] VOTENAME format, skipping the option-description text unless you intend to request or clarify a nuance. Updates will be bloody unpredictable, timed unfairly, and involve invisible weighting based on reasoning, external associates' voting, and random number generators.

This is a work of fiction. User discretion is advised. You absolve Redacted, Classified Information, Censored, Data Expunged, Expletive Deleted, Section Missing, Boop Beep, Block Text Character, Senator Janet Damita, and associates thereof of responsibility. Feel free to report bugs and typos in thread, and hopefully we'll be able to fix them in editing.

Hi there everyone! Nedben's account has been thread-subverted by me, the wonderful BB-chan! 🌸 I've hacked into his freezer and am hot on the trail of the godmodder known as Gendo Ikari!

Unfortunately for you, Nedben's writing is hard to parse. It's so difficult his DTG games are almost unwinnable without way too much determination. It's one thing for a cheap minimodder or a fragile responder to win, but Gendo here has been loitering for games now. He's mutated off his character base more than I have. If not put down, he might become a real nasty recurring bad guy. However, it's not all hopeless for those in other realities!

Using the power of an advanced artificial intelligence and being physically onsite, I can examine scenario context humans might miss. You guys miss a lot if you don't interrogate the narrator into handing over basic sensory data, after all. I'll do you a favor and keep pace adapting myself. That means generating godmodder attacks from the sum total of human history and Nyarlathotep's powerbase. I can keep going long after your probably-organic hearts would give out. That is, if I don't change my mind β™₯.

You can help me by attacking Gendo over there, but it's not necessary so this isn't under forum games. If you really wanted you could even help him, but don't think taking down my ship is any easier. Gendo is currently forming the legendary defense system download Uzu Real, having used godmodding to make it respond to defense generation queries in a reasonable timeframe. He's actually recovering quite fast, I'm just attacking him at very slightly over his regeneration rate of 10 or so per round.

Players can basically just make stuff up or declare they do things. But, that's not gonna work perfectly. The sub-nedbens and narrators are going to shuffle it into some stat system from another game. You guys project cheap 'interaction avatars' to do things like physically intervene, sort of like anons or proxy droids but with more customization. I understand how it works but it takes about thirteen pages to summarize the combat resolution. So, figure it out as you go or ask more specific questions.

The real meat and potatoes of this thread is that you ask questions and people in the story respond to them. You can of course ask me and Gendo, but there's two more narrators over here. Say hi to the people.

> Most honorable salutations from the Poet of Response to the observers of our causality!

EOTB battle processing returned ping in 0 planck.
Hello World.

?焑村仢にBBを俑用しγͺいでください。 ιžεΈΈγ«ε±ι™ΊγͺAIです。 ダヴィンチです。

...Gendo, say something.

GENDO: Please stop attacking me and leave.

Aww, how cute. You still think you'll survive this. Anyway, that's the primary cast. Who's saying what can be ambiguous when formatted too much, but just roll with it and guess.

((Nedben responds out of character with double-parentheticals as per standard.))

Moving on, I suppose we'll open this thread to response after I explain one more thing. End of turn battle processing, please put up the EOTB early.

First Turn EoTB

GENDO IKARI: 584/600 GMHP

Beautiful Battleship: 100% Integrity, 40% power allocated to fighting the godmodder

Thanks. As you can see, I'm already using a lot of my power on keeping Gendo at bay. I'm not making this go faster by brute force for a while, though. Even ignoring meta-damagecaps as much as I am, doing more is just plain expensive. I have to respond to anything big he throws back at me, too! Keeping ship integrity shipshape is a big job for my coprocessors, and sometimes we need sets of special items to pass into the next region.

So, the rest is people asking about what they don't understand. The tilde girl uses a special sendoff when the EoTB isn't the end, so I'll say it once to kickstart us.

A few notes on various things, with character commentary sometimes.

speaking of other ideas, more for the Mycroft Council:
Roschin Skaya: Chaotic Descendant Tiefling Drug Dealer: Ice Pick Lodge Ardanian Demon
Cardashiia: Cardassian Kardashian Dissium Cardista: Umbra Witch Slot Machine Aestheticsmancer
Aemilia Mamercinus: Emily but very abstract: some form of dream demon junta that's multisouled like an exalted primordial and name-title-bodied like an arcadian fae and wears humanlike bodies to help interact: probably came up with the SHERRINGFORD system as a parody of itself. Major soul wearing a realm title (Of All Roads Leading to Rome?) or doing the daedra thing composes a strangely Rome-themed area that's a large part of Factory Moriarty operations.
Maxima Festiva: creative specialist, may or may not still be beholden to Madama Thriae?
SAKUYAHIME Chestnut: the girl from a world of magical girls at war who bears a host of fallen powers from my fanfic which is too terrible to read
Test Subject: while we're bringing out obscure people since whatever was up with them was never explained I guess this guy fits since he was last openly hostile to the Eleison Council due to being...inchoate? Nigh-unkillable but the brunt of everything. Scapegoat of God.
Ciel Dullahan: He lives. He lives. He lives. The mad king who Could Have Been created aside himself as precaution.
Sarah Bright: The dreaming dead were just recreated elsewhere. She who bears unlimited blades not in works but in compatibility to wherever she treads.
Uriel: but hippie

These nine narratori and a few other characters aligned not with Alex of Imil and Richard the Traitor ShellCore nor Iael no Sage, nor Orzic, form the brunt gods of the Space Beyond Stories, the interim world campus created outside of outside and concepts that cannot be.

Add a few others: Sab Otzar-Guf, Elder Kafka, Madama Thriae, Chillmodder if I can borrow the character, Neo Ritho, False Kanon, Grail, Mariel, Serestia, Charlatan, Ripper, Kanch, Kagna, Enemy, Dracian. Maybe even Antagonist and Jacian. Elite and Claudia, plus the star brothers, Barton Thorn, do you know what to ask (read: bring the gods and great mages of Ardania)?

First, some crafting system thoughts.

The classic 'modded alchemiter' modality is actually a surprisingly wide variety of processes that are best explored by others: our associate Frederick the Gatekeeper of Office [CORRUPTION FILTER ACTIVE] & International Affairs has provided an excellent collection of alchemiter-derived and Sburban miracle-derived craftsworks. A few vectors have been provided for greatgame participants of various strike to muse upon. Use of the jumper block punch card shunt easycard upgrade is recommended to combine all the random parts into one alchemiter, by the way.

-Metacaptcha: Most Sburb-strain captchaconnected session sets remain within the idea space of 281474976710656 alchemically intended keyboarded items minus a number of duds and alternate-cost repeats. If and when this mainspace cap is reached, additional options are engaged and can be rendered visible to mundane use by a secondary feature of the Intellibeam Laserstation (normally used to acquire codes of certain sensitive or assumed-alchemy-irrelevant items) or certain alchemiter add-ons: the ability to simply exceed the main character space. The primary method is graceless addition of additional special characters behaving abnormally, which manifests in card rendition by pieces of captchalogue card which appear to extend past the physical card object. Floaty glitching bits of captcha card or visible empty space are generally ignorable, as by the time you break the alchemically intended set's trillions you've usually found some means of automation anyway. Certain items that possess exceedingly complex state overlaps (such as non-errata object simultaneity) often have variety outside the primary range.

-Node operations: Of course, mere indexing isn't the only thing alchemized items are fond of! Most alchemized nonmaterial tools that are autocreated by Sburb operate under a 'node component' system of effect amplifier constituents. This is most visible within certain types of guns and advanced technology where the reinforcement casting machinery is explicitly visible rather than couched in abstraction concepts. Stated more cleanly, taking apart alchemized technology reveals a number of internal components which operate with abilicasting trickery of their own moreso than the usual matter compositions expected.

"This doesn't make any sense." False Kanon said, reading over the machine translations of broodfester maximum overformal. "Seriously, put it in plain English."

No.

"no u." Chestnut said, more or less as an idle automatic response.

Continuing,

"Honestly just write something else." the False Kanon said, letting the papers retreat back into the mass of magic screens and semi-reality dancing about the interim world campus. "Like, what was it you and Multi were working on all those ages ago?"

Oh, that old thing? A simple imbuing function, put one item in one box, another in the other box, machine produces a third item with the first's qualities imbued on the second's form. Sort of like the || or ++ operators but with an alternative payment method of...color gels and class gels, I believe. I'd need to ask Multi to bring it back, but honestly the concept could trick people into allowing another factory.

"How about...ugh, you had a whole dex of this stuff, didn't you?"

I'll sort, I'll sort. Maxima, you lead?

"Concoction, yes." the witch said, nodding along and tossing a wiki link into her words like nothing. "Toss me the chair, I don't feel quirky."

"Here you go." the goldvine said, opting for Vanguard's quotes over eyeburning gold.

Thanks, I'll try to be quick.

Concoction is an old art closer to 'alchemy' as practiced by the earthly sages (and in rare spots, the psynergeticists of Weyard, talk that later Antagonist or somebody) rather than Skaian summoned. Baked Gecko for defense by moonlight invincibility, Unicorn Horn for offense by bloody rose, butterflies for magic, Mandragora Root and laurels for vitality, plus metallic crystal life force from angels or demons, that sort of thing. Now, there are plenty of more complex processes and results ranging from the use of enchantments and demonic weapons, to equipment, but it's a complex great work I can only summarize so fast. Also, it's great for making lollipops, guns, and bracers, not going to lie.

The actual rites to perform Concoction can be skipped about by Descendant force, or autocoded into various types of stereotypical brewery witches and the item generation handled by appropriate magical farming and ranching: I guess what I wanted to say here is 'hey make the spellcasters go craft stuff and you have something other than alchemy to call it'. I mean, who would've thought you could assemble a mecha material so easily?

"Here's the chair back." she concluded. "The rest of it is raw technical data we can provide later, when people care to ask."

Thanks, but I'm going to hand it off to quintuple-Iri over there.

The Grail has taken the chair.

Lovely, thanks. Now, the Holy Grail, a classic among wish-granting utilities. The real trick is to turn a summoning engine into a tool of war, then that tool of war into a reality-warping wish, or a Moon Cell effect based on materializing a vision (spawn treasure, subtly readjust society toward the directed goal, etc.). Accumulate a large supply of magical power, summon seven classed entities as Servants, kill off those Servants against enemy entities, pop out a wish when the end result occurs. Now, you may end up with the Godmodder grabbing that wish, especially if they or an ally pops a Servant and ends up last one standing, but whatever. It's enough power to lostbelt that stuff: use demons to observe and anchor the little reality marble.

Also, you don't need the Dragon Balls to simply ki-beam stuff into existence rather than out, you know. Or you could make them anyway. Namekians and old gods sure are great, huh.

Uh, Amiti, you grab?

"Got it." Antagonist said, taking the chair.

Tiiitans disband, I forgot how good this feels sometimes. Right, psynergy...Are those old elemental systems too elemental and not confusing enough? Want to return to a smaller roster of concept clouds than the aspects? Go to Weyard and smack yourself with a psynergy stone or something, it worked for Feizhi. Ugh, what do I do while I have the chair, uh... It's a lot more generative than simple whateverbending, so you can get around the 'but there's not any in the area' counter easy peasy with simple psychic yeeting. Are we doing ads? Maxima's making it look like we're doing ads, and then the Grail...

"Yes, ads are fine." the Nedben confirms, a few demon pillars shifting their eyes warily. "Apply directly to the forehead, and all that."
