- Nettle uses the Yggdrasil Vessel twice, again.
- Move P10, cherry energy on liar 2.1 and 2.4
- Move O12, cherry energy on liar 2.2
- Move N13, basic attack liar1 and use Rampant Growth if its in kill range. If its 3 or less points off, use cherry energy first.
- If at any point Saltwyvern falls into Nettle's threshold, she'll Rampant Growth it.

Soldier Nia fires at Liar 2.3 and retreats to T10.
If Liar 2.3 is a fake, then she moves to Q11 and casts Confuse Ray on NaClestial before retreating to R10.
If Crya cannot do the above for whatever reason, Crya rushes to T11 and Warp Rings to R14 before casting Confuse Ray on NaClestial and retreating to S13.

Brutishace maintains his ground and casts Vitality Leech at N15! He takes out his skull and performs another round of stylistic casting...

"Edictum Praetoris... Memento Mori... Toga Picta... Interregnum!"

A horrid pale green magic missile flies from the skull towards the targeted tile, catching tons of foes in the blast and healing up his allies nearby! ...Which is somewhat useless since the battle is ending soon.

Someone better make sure that Generator gets damaged as a result of this, or I'll be pissed I wasted my special on it.

Auth makes hand gestures. He's not quite sure how to react to any of what Marron just said. Her list of "Chess" rules does give him a valid response, however. As shown when he winces in pain and clutches his chest.

uA: Sorry, I think I can feel my heart giving out. Yes, the chess is so physically painful that it is killing me. Give me a second, I feel the Boatman crying and I need to comfort him and his skeletal tears.

Auth extremely unsubtly dies again... but there's less bleeding this time. Auth wakes up again soon after, however. Perfectly unharmed.

uA: Most of that is absolute garbage. Of those rules you just listed, Marron, the only one that kind of sort of applies is Promotion.
uA: Your description is more apt for Shogi. In Chess, only pawns promote on reaching the back lines. They become any other piece on the field.
uA: So you can have two queens.

Auth thinks for a second, before sighing and looking sadly at Marron.

uA: You lost to Chaos every time, did you? How many games, do you think, that Chaos used that "rule" to bring back all his pieces?

Auth corrects Marron's assessment of her chess skills thereafter - any game Chaos used that cheating rule is a game Marron would have won. Auth nods to Marron's assertion that they should beat Chaos up with bats and knives.

uA: I agree with this course of action. Chaos has committed a foul treachery and must therefore be punished for what he's done to Chess.

---

Auth shouts quickly after Venia.

uA: Don't bother, Mari! I've got this handled, you do whatever you were going to do.

Soon after, the sky splits open and a large beam of light appears around Chloe. Auth is floating higher in the air than usual, and spirits of the dead wake Chloe up again. They'll be there to support her attack damage, at least for a while. It might even impress a Scarlet.

Battle:

Verdana briefly checks his SP gauge to make sure he got the proper SP for healing the medic, then he notices the fact that Scarlet2, AKA Maple, has been pretty severely injured.

"Oh, that's not good..."

He walks over to her, standing at P7, then snaps his fingers to call Cushion to his side. The spiralfloof sprints to P8, flying right over everyone and making sure to avoid the toxic plume. Once they're there, Verdana nods, then turns his attention back to the fallen Scarlet, suddenly wielding the Shock Therapist.

"You met her once... And you'll get to meet her again!"

With that said, he administers a quick jolt from the therapist to revive Maple. Once he's gotten a sign she's conscious again, he sighs in relief.

"There you go... Just rest for a bit. The shock remains for a while, and movement tends to set it off."

He then offers her a kindly smile, and also a Cure to top off her health. If she's not full health after that, Wizard Chibi Nia also contributes some heal to Maple, although if Cure already got her to full the MP might be better used by Verdana himself.

Today's D31 Roll:
18
(She / Her)

Candy:
Before we get back into the usual shenanigans, Chara decides to change her typing style to mirror that of everyone else in the room. She then lets out a very prolonged "hmmmm."

CHARA: See, this is why I wish there was such a thing as multiversal chess standards.
CHARA: Because, last I remember, pawn promotion could only give you a piece you have already lost during the match.
CHARA: So, no having three rooks, or two queens. Even though the absence of that rule makes for rather fun matches.

She pauses for a moment, then brings a hand to her chin and begins pacing around the room, pondering something.

CHARA: I wonder if there are realities out there where this RPGesque mess of "rules" is the accepted norm.
CHARA: In fact, the only obviously unfair ones are the black side reinforcements and the pawn missiles. The Class promotions sound like a very fun mechanic, despite not being all too, well, chessy.
CHARA: They remind me of klin zha more than shogi, though.

Finally deciding to settle down in one place, Chara turns to Marron with a deadly serious expression.

CHARA: Can I follow you into the wild Chaos chase? I have some words I'd like him to hear.
CHARA: Some cold, powerful words.
CHARA: I can get you the knives. Just tell me what flavor you want.

Candy:
To start off today's round of suffering from lotsa hits, Chara lobs a Spice Potion at Ette.
She doesn't even give it to her to drink. She just sprinkles the contents at her, relying on its intended effect somehow coming into play even if the potion soaks into her instead of being ingested. There is a high chance that this is done out of sheer pettiness for not having been protected from the deluge attack.

Now, an important thing one should note is that Chara is PINNED. And because she does not like that, as is reasonable for anyone in such a situation, she attempts scuttling the gorilla away to N11, walking past Summa and over the Firefighter's body (R15 > Q14 > P13 > O12 > N11). If this does not work, she follows the route S15 > R16 > Q15 > P14 > O13. If none of this works, she flops onto the ground and starts making a snow angel, at peace with the fact that she's about to be laser'd.

Wherever she ends up, she throws the Shanks at Floof Knight 3, severely disappointed by the lack of use her precious traps are getting.

At Ziah's request over DMs, I'm giving Leaf's battle orders this round.

Leaf's Wooly Mollusk will move to K6 and use a pick-me-up on Leaf before attacking the Husk.
Leaf's Splinter Spitter will move to M11 and use corossive mix.
Leaf uses a chairian brew on herself and moves to O3 before casting Noxious Plume on R4 to poison the FloofKnight

At Crystals' request over the planning channel, I'm also giving Arthur's battle orders this round.

Arthur moves to E8 and casts Noxious Plume on H4.

After getting blasted by the Floofknight2 with lightbeams, acquiring the Blinding Maria after it absorbs some light magic in the process, Summa was left barely standing. After bearing what she thought was the worst of it, the Floofknight3 flew towards them, expelling a Fluorescent Deluge towards Ette, Chara, and herself! The Summa put the Blinding Maria in front of her, in a paltry attempt to defend herself from the Deluge. As she closed her eyes, bracing for the attack, she felt a great pull from behind.

"H-Hey! What do you think you're doing?!"

Ette grabbed Tsar'ina, and pulled the Summa behind her, knocking her down off her feet. Ette took nearly the entire brunt of the Floofknight's attack, as Tsar'ina only took a meager sum of what could have been. After the Deluge passed, the Summa took a moment or two on her back, having been badly damaged from going through two rounds of Floofknight attacks. She was left exhausted, barely able to keep her own figure together, looking as if she was beginning to melt. Despite this, Tsar'ina scrambled back onto her feet after processing the whole event, grabbing the Blinding Maria and using it as a support to get up. She rushed towards Ette, a mixture of shock, worry, and anger on her face. Summa slid over to Ette's side, reaching into the group's inventory. Ette looks over to the Moly, having saved her from something would have for sure downed her.

"(Are you alright? T-That was a close one...)"

"E-Ette! You... You idiot! Why in the name of god would you risk your life for me like that?!"

Summa guided her hand throughout the group inventory until getting her hands on something glass-like. Tsar'ina pulls out the Spice Potion and thrusts it into Ette's hands.

"Alright, take this. It should heal a good amount of what you just went through. I know you saved me and all, and I really thank you for it, but... Holy Moly you scared the gorilla out of me.

The worried expression on her face fades away as she gives a big sigh of relief. Once again, she uses the Blinding Maria as a support, her legs shaking as she gets back up. She looks down at Ette.

"Don't get yourself ki... ... ...Stay safe. Thank you."

And with that, Summa tightens her grip on the Blinding Maria, and sprints towards the nearest Floofknight. She slides to a stop at R13, and slashes the Floofknight3 with all her strength.

Wyvern noms some Savory Porridge, then Evolve Strains to assert dominance and give himself negative regen anyway. He then slashes at his Saltling counterpart, before activating Riposte a final time. Retreating is for non-suicidal units, so he doesn't do that.

Narrator sidebets, Wyvern 100% dies this round, right?

Action - Thina - North Caravan

Thina stares at the bird like creatures that just appeared for a while before ducking low and slinking away.

"I... Please don't make me fight that... Not... again."

She slinks away to Q12, evolves Velvet Paw, then prepared for a mega unravel, burning 14 HP. She targets Mechonis1 with the initial attack, then arcing it to heal Echoss and give him fire resistance.\

RP stuff to hopefully be edited in later. Auth, stop dying. You're making people uncomfortable.

<ROUND ONE-HUNDRED SEVENTY-TWO>

Echoss asks about the tea Nana is having. She tilts the cup ever so slightly towards Echoss, allowing him to take a look at the liquid. It's a fairly light pink.

NANA: O-Oh, it's nothing too special...
NANA: It's made with a mixture of Psychoid Leaves, and the petals of the Serenea Flower...
NANA: I-I've always had a sort of problem w-with my nerves acting up, and the t-tea helps keep it under control...
NANA: Also it tastes good.

She hands Echoss a packet of seeds.

NANA: S-Serenea Flowers are hard to come across in the wild, s-so maybe you could grow a few?
NANA: I'd appreciate it. Plus, I'll let you keep the rest!

Serenea Seed Packet obtained! Nana continues to gingerly sip at her tea. While she does that, Echoss also spends some looting various things- first, he loots a crate from the Rosen Observation Outpost. Sure, it's empty, but who doesn't like a good box? Crate get. He also "harvests" some Totems- or really, he smashes them up, which doesn't really harvest them. Echoss's Curse Attention seems to tick up by 4. Down in the Everground, he also sends a Minigolem, along with Pionobot. Now he's there, I guess.

To finish, Echoss does some housekeeping. He assembles a recipe for the Crystal Bomb Shells, with 2 Iron Ingots, 1 Incendiary Scrap, and 3 Wire Scraps. This also successfully creates the aforementioned item. He also commissions Mari to research Zoop.

Mustache Girl descends a chain, and waits for a fire to go out. After a few moments of waiting (and maybe a bucket of water or two), the fire goes out. Now maybe she can get some stuff?

Venia's Maid slays the vein of Rosetainted Metal via application of probably all the mining tools. All of them. This yields 3 Rosetainted Metal.

Auth dies again. While he's busy being dead, Marron places a cup full of water on his head. To Marron's disappointment, he manages to recover from being dead AND stand up without tipping the cup over. Auth then notes that yes- all of those rules are garbage, except maybe promotion.

MARRON: ...
MARRON: gorilla, maybe Chess is actually far more boring than I realized.
MARRON: If I knew that, I'd have asked Toast to play Checkers...
MARRON: But maybe Checkers is secretly boring, too!? I-I dunno!

He then asks Marron just how many times he made use of the revival rule.

MARRON: I think he used it... like, three times?
MARRON: So, I technically won like, three games against him, then.

MARRON: ...
MARRON: Somehow, those games don't feel any more triumphant.
MARRON: Let's go break his knees once I'm done playing with Toast.
MARRON: Or his knee-analogues.
MARRON: He might not be using legs at the moment. I dunno.

Studies done by this forum game show that it's not video games that cause violence, but actually board games. Fascinating.

Chara asks if she can be allowed to murder Chaos. She nods.

MARRON: Sure, why not?
MARRON: The more, the merrier.

The puppeteer is then polled on preferred flavor of knife. She doesn't seem to be listening too intently anymore, as she's trying to think of a chess move that's legal.

MARRON: Also, strawberry. Strawberries are nice.
MARRON: ...
MARRON: Wait, knives? Uh...
MARRON: Yeah. Strawberry.
MARRON: Strawberry knives.

She probably should've gone with raspberry, as it's quite good at jamming things like starships. Chaos isn't a starship, though. But maybe he's classified as one in the game's code. You never know!

<THE CARAVAN, ROUND SEVEN>
The Husk seems especially agonized at this point. He throws the Armistyx to the ground for a moment, and begins to tear into his face, nails ripping into flesh. An entropic fluid begins to leak to the ground, staining and scarring the path below with its touch.

THE HUSK: The Husk has no mouth as of this moment, but it must scream.
THE HUSK: The corruption has grown stronger than it could imagine. It has overwhelmed his feeble form.
THE HUSK: And he knows that at this rate, his body may fail before he can complete his task.
THE HUSK: If he could speak, he would probably say something about stopping him before it gets much worse.
THE HUSK: But he cannot.

The Husk continues to bleed all over the ground as he reclaims the Armistyx and makes his way to the Main Containment Unit. His body flickers, his hands transforming into wicked claws.

THE HUSK: Truly, it is a tragedy.

His body flickers once again, and the Butterfly's own wings unfurl behind him. A demonic noise bellows from the gashes on his "face", causing the very ground to rumble. The wings glow, and he slams directly into the side of the Main Containment Unit, causing it to jolt to the side.

Using all of his limbs at once, he rips into the wooden tank. Splinters break free of the shielded vessel, and even as his limbs smolder from the heat of the energy shield, he refuses to cease his assault. His wings pulsate again, granting him a sudden burst of speed! He drills through the shield, causing it to explode.

He careens directly through the Main Containment Unit, an entire forest's worth of splinters following him in his wake, accompanied by a burst of entropic goop. Behind him trails the Armistyx, in its fabled NET SCYTHE mode. Within its grasp is the Ender Glyph itself, snugly secure in the scythe's grasp.

Omorika rushes in from the South, attempting to take down the Husk with whatever firepower she can muster. Several spires of earth rock the husk, as well as plenty of everyone else's covering fire. It's not enough to stop him though, and he barrels to the West, goop dripping behind him as he flees.

OMORIKA: ...
OMORIKA: It's- HE'S injured. He can't get far.
OMORIKA: After him, now!

And with that, Omorika takes off after the Husk. Towards the steps of the Church of Helix. With that out of the way, the Caravan battle is complete! While the Ender Glyph may evade your grasp at this moment, it's not far off- within the Church of Helix lies the Husk (probably), and the Glyph (probably)! Prepare yourself- odds are, whatever lies in there will be a tough battle!

The Echoss hologram quietly stows the seed packet in the inventory and nods. "Of course Miss Markhamia. We have an area for growing useful plants hidden out afield that will soon have space, I can plant them there."

Echoss is off like a shot along with Omorika and Taeda, with his butterflies staying behind to check up on various people.
Chloe and Nia

An Echoss butterfly flutters over to Chloe and Nia. It transforms into a hologram.
"Hello Miss Elem, Miss Khioneas, we seem to be back on the warpath already so we may need your assistance soon if you're up to it. Thank you for your help, both of you. I suppose it is something that goes without saying, but this is very dangerous work. The fact that both of you are willing to stay here and help is appreciated by everyone."

Chloe smiles proudly, her various bumps and bruises doing little to hinder her mood. ”Aw, don’t mention it. We’re all in this together, right?” Nia chimes in as well, proud of her handiwork. ”Yeah! Also, not gonna lie: beside the part where I literally gorillaing died, it’s been pretty fun!” The blonde raises an eyebrow at Nia, before spending a few moments in thought. ”I mean, I-I’m not sure I’d call it fun, b-but… well, I’ve always kinda wanted to go on an adventure like this, of sorts. Maybe just not one with such high stakes...

The hologram nods. "That's understandable. I myself don't think I've ever had this much riding on my shoulders before but… it's exhilarating. And nice to make new friends." Chloe blushes lightly at the thought. ”Yeah! I’m still surprised that I’m getting along with everyone, but I’m happy to have met you all! Except maybe like, Destiny. ”Well, you do have a charm to you~"

Echoss chuckles, the hologram seeming to flicker for a moment. "I understand it's been a particularly good experience for you Miss Khioneas. Hopefully things will stay… at least mostly cheerful. I haven't been here for much of the rough times myself yet, but I hope I can prove my worth to the team." Nia waves a hand dismissively. ”C’mon, you’ve already proven yourself plenty! You’re really handy with those items, and you’ve been helping Chloe with her lil’ service! You’ve done plenty.”

While the aspiring wizard and the collector talk, Chloe notices many shimmerings of light around the area. A horde of glowing butterflies, all belonging to Echoss. How odd. ”You… have a lot of butterflies out today. I’ve never seen this many!” Nia takes in the sight for a moment. ”Huh, it’s kinda pretty, seeing those glittery thingies everywhere. But yeah, you have like, a gorillaton of butterflies.”

Echoss chuckles. The hologram flickers again for a second or two. "Yes, I tend to keep a lot of them out. There's much to do and I like to keep tabs on what I can. I've already helped a fair handful of individuals from the Iti. Leaf for example. There aren't too many here though, or at least, of my entire collection of them. I have more of them… out and..." Echoss's hologram suddenly flickers a moment. Chloe and Nia can see the other shimmering shapes flickering as well.

Concern crosses the wizard’s face. ”Hey, everything alright?” Chloe takes a moment to think it over. ”Um, Echoss! Just how many butterflies do you have doing things, exactly? I can see you’re talking with Mari, and… well, maybe it’s just me, but I have a hard time keeping up with multiple conversations at once.” “Pffft. Amateur.” ”H-Hey, this is a legitimate concern! So-”

Before the two can continue bickering, Echoss waves her down hesitantly. He seems tired and distracted. "No, no, I don't have too many more than yesterday I think. It's… apologies give me just a mo-" And suddenly the hologram flickers sharply. There's a sound almost like crackling plastic and across the field the lights of Echoss's butterflies flicker out or drop to the ground. The one talking to Nia and Chloe abruptly transforms into a butterfly and topples out of the air, shattering into quickly dissipating golden sparks when it hits the ground. The two gasp.

”Chloe, I think we just killed Echoss via method of trans-texting or something.” ”W-What!? W-We did not kill him! T-They’re… proxies, or something! I… I just hope h-he’s doing okay, t-though…” Nia turns her head about 90 degrees to the right. ”No. He’s not doing okay.” ”Well, gorilla. H-Hang in there!”

Ette and Mari

An Echoss butterfly flutters over to where Ette and Mari are. It forms into an Echoss hologram.
"Miss Elem, do you think you're going to be alright? I admittedly can't do much to aid you at the moment but I think the others would be able to.
For that matter, what about
" the hologram flickers for a second. "yourself Miss Needleworker? You took some heavy hits back there, both of you."

The two women turn to face the hologram. “Hey, I’m alright. I’ve taken worse. Like, back in the Mindscape, I-” The puppet silently interjects with her tablet. “(Didn’t you get attacked by a christmas tree?)” The scientist’s temper flares up for a short moment. “H-Hey, it was an ANGRY christmas tree! Y-You could’ve made me sound like, dunno, not a gorillaing baby or something!” The puppet quickly backs down. ”(A-Ah! I’m sorry!)” Mari sighs. “I was gonna lie and say something cooler, so it’s fine. It’s probably for the best, somehow.”

Ette takes this moment to reassure Echoss that she’s holding up. ”(Anyway, I’m okay, too! I can’t feel pain!)” “Is that really a good thing?” The puppet shrugs. ”(I dunno! Oh, are you doing okay, sir Echoss?)”

Echoss chuckles at Mari's anecdote. "Don't feel too embarrassed. Trees have a lot of bulk to them, as someone who was once punched in the face by a treant, I can understand how distressing having a tree attack you is. I'm glad you two are doing alright though." His hologram flickers again a little bit. "Hm? What do you mean by that Miss Needleworker?" Ette quickly formulates a response on her tablet. ”(Are you injured, or anything? I’m a bit worried- everyone’s been getting hurt recently! I don’t think I’ve ever seen Chloe collapse like that...)”

Echoss shakes his head. The hologram flickering slightly yet again. "No, I'm fine. Miss Elem took quite a beating but she seems to be doing alright now… I am a bit more resilient than most people here. I can reform my body from the butterflies should something happen to my main form, and even were something catastrophic enough to disable me entirely to happen I would still survive in my main form back home in all probability. I'm… a bit winded, but nothing more."

”...Is your wifi alright?” The scientist watches as Echoss flickers on occasion, giving the cluster of butterflies a quick scan. ”I mean, it’s probably magic wifi or something, but you kinda look like you’re breaking up.” Ette examines the flickering collector as well. ”(It’s okay to not be okay, y’know! We can both help!)”

Echoss tilts his head for a moment. "I beg your pardo-. Oh. Hm, yes, apologies give me just a mome" The hologram suddenly freezes up, and then begins to transform back into its butterfly form before abruptly shattering into a shower of golden sparks that dissipates on the wind.

Mari blinks. ”Don’t think I’ve ever seen someone disconnect from real life.” Ette meanwhile, panics a little. ”(D-Did Echoss just DIE!?)” Mari shrugs. ”Not sure of the reconnection speed of Outside’s servers, but give him a few minutes. He’s probably fine.”

...They wait a few seconds. Ette loses her patience. ”(I-I’m gonna check on him!)” Ette runs off towards where Chloe and Nia seem to be clustering. ”Huh-” Mari analyzes the situation- there’s a collapsed Echoss not too far away from her. gorilla.”

Auth

An Echoss butterfly floats over to Auth, transforming into a hologram.
"Hello there Master Author. I know you took a bit less of a beating in the fight than the others, but I wanted to check up on you and make sure you were alright, as well as to thank you for assisting with your timely revival of Miss Elem."

”Ah, good morning, Echoss. No, I’m fine. I’m more concerned about the Rebels we just finished with, personally. I don’t think we took that much of a beating. Although, it’s just my perspective for a third of the battle.

Auth indicates to the Scarlets as he walks around, healing conscious allies and rebels.

"Some of us took heavier hits than others. Mari and Chloe both went down after quite strong attacks. I understand your sentiment though, best to minimize the casualties as much as possible."
The hologram flickers for a second, a puzzled expression flickers across Echoss's face and the hologram quickly catches back up with Auth.

”I mean, even then, we’re relatively clear of damage. The Rebels and Legion both had casualties. We had some people take some nasty hits, and then get revived. Hence my concerns.

Auth notices Echoss’ confused expression.

What’s up?

The hologram shakes its head. Flickering again in and out for a few seconds.

"Nothing, nothing. Just a moment of vertigo, is all."

Auth looks concerned at Echoss’ hologram. He has his hands full right now healing someone else, but it doesn’t prevent his concern.

”Are you sure that’s nothing? Spontaneous vertigo is almost never a good sign. Actually, scratch that, it’s never a good sign. You should get looked at by a doctor.

Auth thinks for a second.

A real doctor. Not me.

Echoss chuckles for a moment.

"A regular doctor likely wouldn't know what to make heads or tails of my own biology I assure you. It's more likely to do something with..."
Echoss slowly trails off.
"P… pardon me. I seem to have… Give me just a mo"
The hologram abruptly flickers and fades away, leaving only a shower of golden sparks that quickly dissipates.

Leaf

An Echoss butterfly flutters over to Leaf, and transforms into a hologram.
"Hello Miss Leaf, it has been a while since we last talked and while I admit these are not the best circumstances, I figured it would be best to check up on you and see if you are going to be alright."

Leaf wipes a bit of blood from her lip, and spins around to greet Echoss, still a little shaken from recently decked. Despite this, she seems fairly happy to see him.
"Oh, hi! I've… well I've been okay. I got hit really hard in the face earlier, and I think I passed out… but we won, so that's alright."

The hologram nods and flickers for a brief moment.
"I'm glad you're doing alright then. I'd recommend you talk with one of the healer though, if you were knocked unconscious during the fight it would be wise to have any lingering injuries treated. We're about to go into another battle almost immediately, we should be prepared."

Leaf nods, then pauses, growing a little concerned as Echoss mentions another battle.
"Another one almost immediately… I'll do what I can to prepare, then. How are you doing?"

"Well enough. I've stayed on my feet this long, I can stand to keep moving while there's still so much left to do."
The hologram flickers again, as if punctuating his words.

" That's good to hear… do look after yourself though, okay? Don't strain yourself if you don't need to."

His hologram flickers for a few seconds again, interrupting his nod and bow. "I'll do my best."
The hologram transforms back and flutters away, before abruptly freezing its motions in midair and tumbling to the ground. It shatters into a shower of golden sparks that quickly dissipate before it even hits the snow.

Summa

An Echoss butterfly flutters over to Summa, and transforms into a hologram.
"Hello there Miss Tsar'ina, are you doing alright? You took quite a few hits back there."

”Well, I’ve certainly begun to recover from that horrible fight. I will admit, I am not used to being beat down like this...”

The hologram nods.
"The thymefield takes a fair bit of adjustment, yes. I've tried to view it as… an opportunity. A reminder of what it's like to fight without one's best powers. That's a useful skill to retain."

”Ah, yes. Discipline is a very important lesson to learn. There will always be things that one simply can’t handle. I am starting to appreciate the fact that we all go as one team.”

"Indeed. A team moving in unison is greater than the sum of its parts. Is there anything I can do for you once this next fight is dealt with? I'm a bit spread thin at the moment but I would like to help out if I can. There's much to do, I should do my part."

”No, no… It wouldn’t feel right having you work more because of me. Perhaps there is something I can help you with? I still need to repay you a favor for helping me out earlier. As long as it doesn’t have anything to do with fighting...”

The hologram flickers as it shakes its head. Is it looking fuzzy?
"No, no. It's fine. I think there is not much I personally need done at the moment. Just take care of yourself Miss Tsar'ina."

”If you are so sure...”

Tsar’ina looks at the hologram, inspecting it up and down. She notices something particularly off almost right away, having never seen a hologram of his act weirdly.

”Perhaps a break would suit you well? It is hard to believe you have been working so diligently for… However long you have been around. I assume a while.”

The hologram flickers slightly again. "Only just last night, about when you arrived too actually. While I was here for a short while in the day prior… Well, either way I'll be fi" Echoss's hologram suddenly freezes up. It flickers for a few seconds, before abruptly bursting into a shower of quickly fading golden sparks.

Thina

An Echoss butterfly flutters over to Thina, and transforms into a hologram of him.
"Hello Miss… Thina I believe it was?"

Thina suddenly looks up from the ground with a start.

”Miss?”

She turns around, looking up and down at the shimmering figure, seemingly confused.

”Is that...”

Seemingly listening for something, she pauses before slowly reaching out towards him, like somebody reaching for a doorknob that might have a painful static charge.

”Did you… speak? To me?”, she asks, cautiously, not sure if she was making a fool out of herself.

Echoss's hologram nods.
"I believe you're the only member of our party named Thina. Apologies for the confusion, I just wanted to check up and make sure you were okay. You took a few hard shots during the fight."

Shaking her head, Thina lowers her paw to the ground.

”That… wasn’t what I...”

She closes her eyes and looks downwards for a moment, seemingly composing herself. After a while, she looks up again, continuing in a much flatter, somewhat unsteady tone of voice.

”I’m sorry. I’m alive- certainly. Fighting here is so different than what I know. I-...”

She suddenly stops and trails off.

”... am… hoping to… help this, make a difference, if… … Nevermind.”

Echoss hums for a moment. The hologram flickers briefly.
"Well, your assistance in the last fight was appreciated. Thank you for that. If you need any support we have a number of healers that you could ask for some assistance. Is there anything in particular you need?"

”Ah, no… no… I… adapt. Help myself. …”

She pauses, then suddenly snaps to look directly up at Echoss, eyes suddenly much brighter and more focused.

”Are you made of mist? Never… seen that color mist. … It’s not the light. … I think.”

Echoss shakes his head.
"No, it's a magical hard light construct. Held together by a spell. If it were to break it would scatter into pieces of afterglow and then nothing. No water vapor or similar."

Hearing that, Thina shuffles backwards slightly.

”Hard… light… then… ...”

She continues muttering various permutations of Echoss’ explanation to herself. After a moment of silence, she tries again.

”Is it like- um… when you look through water and it gets dis- nononono...”

Holding her head in her paw, she (and the person writing this) tries to think of a fitting metaphor.

”Or maybe-maybemaybe… like a mirage? Can those live?”

She starts bouncing slightly on her feet, curiosity rising in her.

"Hmm… perhaps closer to a lightbulb, though the method of light generation is different. If you were to touch the hologram you'd feel it there in the air. Please don't actually do that though, you might break it if you did. They seem to be rather fragile today."
The hologram flickers again, fuzzing in and out.

Thina tilts her head, seemingly staring more at the space around the hologram than at him directly, seeing where its light fades into the background and where the line gets blurred from these increasing distortions.

”Does that… hurt? Those inconsistencies? Would hurt be accurate? Is it supposed to do that? Would it?”

The hologram shimmers for a second, and Echoss looks confused.
"I beg your pardo- Ah. Pardon me I appear to be having some dif"
And then the hologram explodes backwards away from Thina, sending out a scattering of golden sparks that quickly dissipate into the air.

Nezira

Meanwhile, back in the House, an Echoss butterfly flutters down into the basement by Nezira and transforms into a hologram.
"Hello Miss Nezira, are you doing well?"

Nezira looks up from a workbench, various notes and half-built parts scattered across it. “Oh! Hello! Is it morning already? I... must have gotten lost in my work after we came back from that visit to Xavier’s house. So much new information, that was especially pertinent since it’s information on the technology used by someone we’ll likely come across in the future... I needed to figure it out.
She shakes her head clear and turns away from the workbench.
I’m doing okay -- I know a spell that can help substitute for sleep, though I’ll need extra tonight. Did I miss anything?

The hologram flickers a moment as Echoss chuckles.
"You could say that. We have another fair few arrivals, and you've missed the caravan ambush entirely. I would recommend having some breakfast at the very least. The food seems to keep well in the inventory, so this morning's meal should still be warm."

Oh... I missed that much? Well, I may as well leave this for later and see what’s been going on in my temporary absence. Hopefully I wasn’t missed too much at the battle -- I know we need everyone we can get.

Echoss motions for Nezira to slow down. The hologram flickers again.
"You have missed almost the entirety of the battle Miss Nezira. I would say the entire thing but we're about to enter into a hopefully final fight with the Husk to reclaim the Glyph after he made off with it. It would be better for you to rest a little bit and have something to eat."

I suppose so! Though after that, I may as well go and see how things are going, and perhaps make a few useful items instead of these assays into the workings and possible applications of what Xavier’s developed. They’re interesting, certainly, and illuminating, but not quite usable.

Echoss nods.
"Your assistance is appreciated either way. Would you like me to relay a message while you prepare to make your way up?"

Nezira hmms for a second.
Not sure... probably, ‘Sorry for my absence, I was busy with some research. Hopefully things went well without me.’ Does that work?

"Indeed it does, I shall relay it to the others."
The hologram flickers again, and transforms back into its butterfly form. It begins to lift off before suddenly flickering and fading in and out. Abruptly its motion in the air stops, and it tumbles to the ground, one of its wings snapping off and shattering into golden sparks when it impacts.

Maple and Scarlets

An Echoss butterfly flutters over to the Scarlets and transforms into an Echoss hologram.
"Thank you for your assistance Miss Maple. We'll be hunting down The Husk to make sure we can reclaim the Glyph... But there's information I promised you as part of the terms of the ceasefire."
The hologram flickers for a moment.
"Simply put, it is the reason why so many of us Outsiders are collected her. I understand that the general knowledge of Irecreeper being imprisoned in the Sphere is common on Sussui...
I would think that knowledge of the war in which he participated, of the cataclysmic battles that the armies of your kingdom were pulled to and utterly destroyed in, is at least somewhat well known.
To put it simply, Ire is not the only thing in that Sphere. Another creature, an awful abomination of code and entropy from the depths of the history of the Godmodding wars, is locked away in his mind. Between the Waluigi Thyme, an artifact that made even the participants of the Second Godmodder War tremble with its power, and a construct of what was apparently the first Godmodder ever...
In three days time the thing inside of the Sphere will finish gathering its power. In three days time the ancient curse of the Psi-Godmodder will be unleashed and the Sphere will crack in two, utterly destroying not just your world but your entire universe. And many others as well.
"
The hologram flickers for a few seconds.
"Apologies. I understand that this may be... tough information to swallow. But given that the Second Godmodder War resulted in the direct destruction of three universes, and the ruination of countless more... Surely you understand that bringing back an evil that shadowed a previous similar conflict, and feeding it a power amplifier as strong as the Thyme could result in... disastrous consequences? That is what you face.
I know that you yourselves cannot do much with this information, but as we will be recovering the final glyph tomorrow, I think it would be best if your leaders were aware of the threat as well. I am quite certain that were worst to come to worst, neither of our parties could retrieve taken glyphs from each other. Two days from now, one way or another, it will be in our collective best interests to set aside whatever squabbles we have and work together to destroy the Sphere and the creature consuming Ire from the inside out.
"
The butterfly flickers for a few more seconds.
"I apologize again for this... infodump. It's not pleasant information, but it's information I think would be useful to spread about more. When the final confrontation happens, we'll want as many people to be on the same page about it as possible."
He stops and pauses.
"I think that I should give you some aid. If any Iti show up you'll likely want all the unconscious people to be in one place to be easier to defend. I can call some of my mini golems to act as manual labor for you until it's time for you to leave. Give me just a second."

The hologram flickers for a second, and then several large swarms of butterflies rush in from the edges of the canyon. They coalesce into the forms of the minigolems, all of them organized into three small squads. They look slightly... hollow, and seem to be moving more sluggishly than they usually do.
They then all promptly shatter into golden sparks and the remnants of butterflies, scattered on the ground, unmoving.
...the hologram is gone.

Omorika and Taeda: This is the most important one. If you're interested in my RP at all you should read it.
Smells like Exhaustion

Echoss runs along behind Omorika and Taeda.
"Don't rush in all on your own, we may well be rushing into a trap and if we try to get in all on our own without the others we may be decommissioned from the fight before it's even begun."
He looks at the door. He hums quietly. His face takes on a focused expression and he whips his hand forwards. Taeda and Omorika may notice his form blurring slightly at the edges as a glowing ring whips draws itself into form around his arm.
"Alright... one last go. I can do one last go."
He pushes his arm back behind him, and whips forwards as if on a cord, and the portal ring expands outwards, a yawning black about 3 meters in diameter forms behind him inside its opening. It smokes around the edges. Purple smoke and sparks.
"One final" abruptly he falls behind, stumbling and staggering. Taeda and/or Omorika, depending on if either turn around quickly, see him stumble sideways slightly and fall to one leg, purple smoke pouring off of his arms, Echoss breathing heavily.

*You hear the fluttering of wings, and the distant crackling of fire.*

Echoss pants, and slowly staggers back into the pathway. The tunnel behind him lighting up with a blue glow. Echoss wavers and shakes. Every so often a small patch of his skin seems to destabilize and explodes out into golden butterflies before recoalescing into his arm.
"I should..." He tries to take a step forwards, but his whole form seems to blur. He stops. "Perhaps I should take a moment to rest..."
The light behind him, now clearly the interior of the barrel of a cannon, overloads. Having been left to charge up for too long, it fires. Right into the back of the one who opened up the pathway for it.

The portal snaps shut with a crack that overlaps directly with the crack of the cannon firing, a massive wave of purple thymecurse smoke pours off of it. Of course, this doesn't stop the projectile entirely, Echoss has done his research. It never reaches the door of the church however.
Neither does Echoss, but he comes close. His form is no longer shaking and shimmering, but it IS smoking.
Purple and black smoke plumes drift up from him and his clothing. He slowly rolls himself over onto his back.
"Well... I suppose that serves me right."
His breathing slows and he closes his eyes.
He doesn't seem to be dead, but he's definitely down for the count.

Elsewhere, Echoss's butterflies and constructs shatter into pieces. Across Sussui, golden insectoids that were already running on thin ice as it was, suddenly shatter in midair leaving whatever tasks they had underway unfinished.

*Smells Like Poor Life Decisions

Overworld Resource Actions:
First off, farm time! Echoss butterflies harvest everything in the farm! Thanks to the farm golem's boost this means thata number of the crops are replanted.
Replants:
Fertilized: Serenea Flower seeds, Lumipod, Fragapple, Cinderfruit
Unfertilized: Coffee Beans, Wheat, Celefruit, Manabloom, Yggherb if possible and more Wheat if not.
Alternatively, if I could plant a red sap tree sapling in the place where I'm trying to plant Yggherb, that'd be awesome.

In the Everground, Pionobot checks to see if the rope leading up to the surface can carry a basket of materials of its own so that the final step of ascension can be bypassed the same way the earlier ones were. If the answer is no, a basket and chain of titanium is assembled and put into place same as before, and either way the material basket currently sitting at the bottom of the drop by the gate are gathered up.
Materials get: 8 Samples, 6 Sapphires, 18 Megabark.

The shadowy figure sidles up to Nia's probably nonexistent shop stall and passes her the requisite 40 credits and gives her the Sock Puppets and Hydrahead Flowers to be upgraded.
Time for T3 socks friendios.

Auth stretches. The Battle is done! Auth has a bunch of things to do.

TO DO LIST:
Request Bronzewood (Done!)
Bash Chaos' Kneecaps in (including Discordance!) (Done!)
Revive Scarlets (and the rest of the Legion and Rebels). (Done!)
RP with MOAR people
Craft Shield Web
Profit

---

Auth noticed Summa requesting"Elemental Silver" from off-planet. Something that Auth could think of a use for.

Auth waves down Chloe.

uA: Hey, Chloe. You're bringing things in from elsewhere now, right? If so, I can think of something that might be incredibly useful, since I haven't seen it here. Truthfully, it could be, but...
uA: I'd like to request some Bronzewood. It's, er, native to the High Wilderness, specifically the region of the Reach, near New Winchester, and it's often used as space lo-
uA: Spaceship plating. Yes. It's rather tough, so I think we'd have use of it.

Auth bows as he makes his request, hoping that it can be accounted for.

---

Auth shrugs.

uA: Well, that could be because you've never seen a real game of Chess. Although...
uA: It can even be fun that way. Chess is fundamentally a war game. Imagine...
uA: Great siege towers rolling up along a wide open field. Knights charge forth, supported by standard soldiers, as their queen and king ride up from the back.
uA: It becomes a lot more interesting as you imagine the battle playing out, y'know?

After a brief example of how you can make Chess interesting for yourself, Auth's expression turns dark. Especially at a certain comment from Chara.

uA: Chaos is fortunate I am merciful. Else I would have some more painful words for him. Idkuh.

As Auth says that final word, the air around him chills slightly.

uA: When you're ready, then. I'm happy to wait.

Auth elects not to comment on the knives. Truthfully, he doesn't like knives all that much.

---

Auth stretches his arms and cracks his fingers. It's time to get to work! Auth walks around and heals the Spherebreakers North first, of course, but then eventually he wakes up the unconscious Rebels.

uA: Good morning, all of you. I think a couple of you might remember us.

Auth leans backwards. He'll address the Rebellion before waking up the Legion, he thinks he can protect them better that way. He looks out to them all.

uA: Are all of you okay? I think I patched up any injuries, but if I missed anything please let me know. I can probably heal it better than your own Medics can.

After healing anything he missed, he nods to himself.

uA: Alright, unless any of you have anything you want to say to us, the Spherebreakers, you're free to run along back to... wherever you guys are based in. You should be alright to get back there yourselves, since you got here. Though if there's anything to say, it's not like there's no time before you hurry along.

Auth listens to any complaints or comments by any of the Rebel Soldiers, protecting the Legionnaires if someone tries to attack them, before sending them along. He takes a deep breath, stretches again, and then gets to work on waking up the Legionnaires too. He gives the same spiel, and listens to those soldiers as much as the Rebels, before sending them on their way to the Citadel. Afterwards, he heads down to Central to do the same, reviving and healing anybody who's still present.

He does wave to the Medic and Maple as he works on reviving all of the people who were downed or injured. It's in his best interest...

uA: Oh! Right, the rest of your unit went back to their base already. Might wanna head off with them.

---

Auth nods to Wilson's question.

uA: Yes, I'm quite fine. You'd normally be correct in that amount of blood loss being unquestionably lethal - because it was.
uA: But I have ways and means of evading such a fate so I'm okay. Sorry about the mess, if I knew how badly the chess was going I would have prepared something more hygienic to bleed out into.

Respec Time! Lock this stuff in.
