Crya uses Ice Stalagmites on the Jotun at T20 before retreating to U16.
Chibi Nia, knowing the sotrm has almost been weathered, runs to V10, and sits down.

Boshi looks over at Toast's position.
"(On it, fam)"
He fires the Elemental Blaster (Fire) at Toast, triggering her Ignite Blood.

He then moves to (V19) (passing through the cover due to Spectral), and resets his stance from the Hard Slam, effectively "reloading" his weapon.

---

Bow Kid steps back from her practice. The first bit of her practice looked very... crude; something to be expected from a mere child just starting out. At least, one would think was just starting out. Though, evidently, she was merely getting used to the tools she had, as her later practice was significantly better, in that it actually seems to form something of note; namely, the scenery just outside the window, except all artsy and stuff. It's not to the standard she set herself to (Acacia's Paintings), but it's still fairly decent.

Satisfied with her practice, she sets aside the practice canvas, and grabs a new canvas from, presumably, a stockpile somewhere.

She tries to think of something to paint, but... she ends up not knowing what to make. "hm..."

She wanders out of the art room, wandering around Acacia's House, looking to find something or someone to paint a picture of...

---

Solitude (Ft. Echoss)
Hat Kid hasn't done much since she woke up. She's relaxing near the hot springs in Acacia's House. Or, trying to relax, anyway. It seems she's having some trouble from being alone for an extended period of time... she's looking really down right now.
Hat Kid hears the soft fluttering of wings near her, and then settling down. A familiar voice, this time with much more clarity, sounds next to her. Fortunately enough, the plushie is nearby.
"You seem like you could use some company."

Hat Kid glances towards the general location of the sound, then sort of just looks back at the water in the hot springs, and sighs. ”Oh… h-hey.”

”I-it’s just… really hard to be okay now. I… I h-haven’t felt so… lonely in I dunno how long…”

Hat Kid feels something very small pass through her leg for a moment, and Echoss makes a concerned humming for a moment. "That's understandable, I think. Someone's seriously messed with you… almost on an existential level, that's kind of worrying."

Hat Kid is stunned by this revelation, and her immediate, immense concern shows. ”Exis...tential… you mean…? A-and how d-d’you…?” She looks at the palms of her hands blankly. She’s already not taking this well…

"Ah, my apologies for worrying you. I don't know how to fix it yet, but I think I could figure something out given some time, and possibly some help from the others. You've had your space-time… signature so to speak, though that isn't the technical term, tampered with." She feels something push at her leg, it still phases through, causing Echoss to hum a bit again, but she can almost make out the proper sensation of touch to it. She can see the glow of his hologram though, right next to where he feels to be phasing his arm through her leg. "As far as I can tell, you're not in immediate danger of further harm at least." She feels the weird sensation of being passed through, but it's back to just passing through her entirely and Echoss sighs.

Hat Kid sets her arms back down to her sides, but seems to lower her head a bit more. Her hat slides down her head a bit. She seems exhausted, not in a sleepy kind of way, but more of a strained kind of way. ”Time… and space… I-I know about time; my ship’s fuelled with it. A-and it can pass through… strings? Idunno what they are, b-but I think they’re close to space?”

”...B-but… I-I feel… different? L-like, I feel… weird. Sorta empty, I dunno…”

"Hmm. Well, when I finish up with things back at the main house I'll come check up on you here. I can't get a good view through my lesser projection here, so there's a lot I can't really check."

She nods. Figuring the conversation wasn’t about to progress any further than that, she just sorta… speaks her mind a bit. ”...Really, I dunno how I stayed alone for so long before… now it just… hurts. So much.”

"Hah… Yes, I can sympathize with that. Always feels colder when you've been near the fire, as an old friend of mine used to say."

”It’s waaay more fun exploring with a friend, too! Me and Boshi went on all sorts of adventures together! It, uh… w-would have helped a lot in that… that mansion in the Subcon Forest (I-I think that’s what it was called)… I-I hate that place, s-s-sooo m-much…”

"Oh dear… You've been through a fair bit hm? Would you care to tell me about some of your adventures? Perhaps it will help take your mind off things." Echoss's hologram seems to have finished solidifying in Hat Kid's vision, he is sitting crosslegged on the ground, facing the same direction as Hat Kid.

Hat Kid thinks for a bit, looking off to the side. ”...Hmmm… I don’t remember much about my adventures alone… though I do sorta remember that Mustache Girl tried to run a planet once. I think she wanted to, uh… judge people, and find out if they’re bad guys or not? I then sorta… beat her up. Eheh… iiiit was better to do that than it sounds,” she sheepishly remarks.

Echoss chuckles. "Given there haven't been too many problems with her wandering around here, I'll assume you two are getting along fine now."

”Yep! She’s one of our group, now! I remember a lot more about what happened after all that, too! Lemme talk about my trip to the Mushroom Kingdom!”

After this, she launches into a full-blown re-telling of how her trip was, and many more after that.

This is going to take a while...

---

The skies are shining ever brighter as daylight approaches. And with the daylight, the two space stations above Sussui become ever-the-more apparent to those who look upward. And look upward Boshi did. He frowns. "(...Ugh, yyyyep, that's Adria's alright. Still have no clue what Rosa's doin' here though...)"

...Oddly enough, both stations have their own forms of weaponry and shielding out now. Previously, only Adria's was showing weaponry while the Comet Observatory only had shielding. Things are about to heat up... both parties are getting riled up.

"..."

"..."

Battle stuff:

Verdana spreads his arms wide and laughs as attacks from some of the Iti start properly impacting him. He seems to be enjoying himself, at least... His attention soon goes from what's attacking him to dealing with the things, turning briefly to the Spiralfloof.

"You know what to do! Even if it's only because I told you via subliminal messages."

The Spiralfloof sweeps itself over to F13 and drops a fat blast of fluorescant breath all over Amphi1, and I mean all over it given what the cone of probably-magical-halitosis can cover. In the meantime, Verdana turns his attention elsewhere.

"Now then..."

If Amphi1 still survived that, somehow, he promptly turns back and blasts it with a Newton Hammer to the tail. If it died, he instead grins at Bouquet1 before hammering it instead.

As for Wizard Chibi Nia, she should probably go heal Daskter if she can get close enough to do so.

Ansem mulls over Chloe's words. Essence and Cooking Spice? it wouldn't be unprecedented, considering that The Boy combined his Keyblade with Cooking Implements at some point. The thought of it being directly applied to magic, though, almost brought an odd, wry smile to his face.

Almost.

"That... was most peculiar." He murmurs to himself, fear easily washing over his being without interrupting his poise or thoughts. "She was a Keyblade wielder, and yet she did not attack me on sight... she knew of me, but rather than confront and slay me in my weakened state..."

He rubbed the Emblem Heartless symbol on his chest as the Darkness around his heart shifted from Pride to Fear. The Guardian looks to him, for the first time showing something in its otherwise empty eyes. Familiarity... and pity.

Then there's an interruption. Ansem and Guardian notice another of the creatures showing up from the stairwell. They stare at it with cold calculation. The Seeker stares back, its mind blank with confusion. Ansem and Guardian stare harder. The Iti's eyes twitch to the Portal it was attracted to. Ansema nd Guardian's eyes follow the twitch, then look at each other.

There is unanimous agreement.

Ansem and Guardian surround the portal from opposite sides, then Ansem 'hijacks' one of the turrets.

"Darkness! Destroy the interloper!"

After ShadowCaster 3 is finished firing upon the seeker, there is nothing there but a formless body. Ansem scoffs.

"This was was more pathetic than the other three. Either this one was a runt, or the other three were being boosted by another of their kind."

Then again... these weren't Heartless. Was his hypothesis really sound? Assuming that he wasn't attacked and killed, he'd absolutely have to get more information.

Meanwhile, Rushdown, having woken up from its Sloth induced nap, proceeds to annihilate the SHP of Chosen2 in a blast of Pain flavored Darkness.

---------------------------

Action Summary:

Ansem to T3. Commanding Shadowcaster to fire upon Seeker3.

Guardian.moves to R5.

Rushdown attacks Chosen2.

Maria

...zzzzzzzzzzz...snort...zzzzzzzzz

RP: The House

Venia's about to indulge herself in more violence for the oncoming waves when Echoss (who she previously thought to have died to like a seeker) rushes by, talking about not being sure of why he's upset-and she turns to Echoss, and it becomes a bit clear in that moment that Venia's legitimately smiling, just a little.

"She DIED! In front of my face! I did all that I could to stop the possession and it didn't kill the stupid parasite and she died! And I mean, she didn't really die but she died! And he can hear me! They all can! And they fear me, fear us! That their little pawns don't care is the icing on the cake! WHO CARES FOR SOME STUPID ITI, AM I RIGHT?!" Venia shouts.

"Jeez, Venz, cool it, its almost like you're getting off to this."

Venia whips her head around, seeing Nia-not a Chibi, the real deal-sitting right on the sandbags, headphones tuned to a heavy metal song, a look of concern directed at Venia.

Her face vanishes.

"... Are you?"

Venia blinks.

"... Sorry, Echoss."

Venia decides to just leave the area entirely.

Crafting

Oceanic Scarf

Hat realizes, with a sigh, that it is no longer time for him to be Venia's actual headgear item that she wears for combat purposes. Sure. He is still Venia's and he is still a headgear item for combat purposes, but she'll be wearing something else. She also won't be using the magical aura of the Blizzard Hairdye soon, either-she's just been too tired to change into a more proper, fitting piece of wear for the hat slot. Hat will therefore take it upon himself to makes sure Venia has a more fitting piece of headgear for when she returns to having the energy to wear hats. Who better, after all?

Aside from like a million different hatmakers, of course.

No-one.

I thought so.

Hat takes the Tsunami Regalia and the Spiritloom, as well as a unit of Phase Matter, three units of Rose Weave, a Chairleg Trident, and some regular old water. Not even Waterdrank-brand Water, just, you know. Water. Hat proceeds to call in the Ghostbustsers and have them bust the entropy out of the Rose Weave before proceeding, and then busts their buttoxes when they say they can't. After one whole wackyzany adventure offscreen where a lot of noises like dying horses were heard, Hat returns with the relatively high-quality fabric ready for enchanting, and proceeds to crudely mash in all the other items into the fabric, and then mash that fabric in through the spiritloom in complete defiance of how weaving, fabric-working, or basically anything goes.

He has no style, he has no grace, Hat isn't a Kong so this rhyme sucks. Hat's handiwork is terrible because Hat has no hands, he's a replica of a Keldeo and thus has hooves. His Hoofiwork is top-notch, though, but the fact of the matter is that what results isn't really much of a scarf. Its more like a piece of long fabric that's constantly leaking water from its threads like a waterfall. Hat dislikes this outcome, though. Hat stares at it hard, though, so suddenly everything's OK and its exactly how he wanted it to come out.

Resources Expended: 1 Tsunami Regalia, 1 Chairleg Trident Crafting Charge, 1 Phase Matter, 3 Rose Weave.

(T5) Oceanic Scarf
It looks like sapphire, it moves like water, it feels warm and comforting.
(+1 STR) (+1 AGI) (+5 INT) (+1 RES) (+1 SPC)
Ice (50%), Water (50%), Poison (-30%)

Revolving Chamber

Hat doesn't really have the energy to bother with anything especially complicated after completing the Oceanic Scarf, so he snags up the Yaga Eyestalk and infuses it with the power of ten million billion omnifiniternal energy sources of absolute omnipsience caret three whatevers. Hat doesn't have to listen to your complaints about being OP because he demanifested his ears just for the occasion. In any case, after making the Yaga Eyestalk approximately .0001% as strong as Hat, Hat dissolves the excess components and leaves behind a single black revolver chamber. Huh.

Hat polishes the chamber carefully and stores it elsewhere, ready for Venia to use it in place of the Maccao Tailspike. While useful, it doesn't quite cut it, and various OOC concerns implicit the rise in active use items anyways.

Resources Expended: 1 Yaga Eyestalk

(T4) Revolving Chamber
Apparently, spinning this black revolver's chamber allows you to 'normalize' yourself.
(+2 MHP) (Status Resolve)
(+10% Slashing) (+40% Magical) (-30% Air)

Status Resolve: Once per battle, you or one of your summons may target an entity in range 1-3 and either remove up to 3 duration on any basic status effect (duration removed may be spread out), or remove one duration on an advanced status effect. You then gain Empowered(2*x) for two rounds, where 'x' is the number of status effects completely removed. Bonus Action.

Battle: The House

Venia propels herself up the trellis to the second floor, where she spawns at I13 and fails to go anywhere else because the Amphi's ZoC is right there (if its alive). Venia then points her revolver at Harpy9 and unloads a full six rounds. She then flicks a switch near the end of the barrel as she begins reloading. A cyan sphere appears in front of the barrel and CALLS another barrage of bullets directly into the Harpy, hopefully enough to send it, and the Bouquet, careening into the ground. (If the Harpy is already dead, Venia does not CALL more bullets)

"Yo, people down there! there should be a Bouquet down there! Kill it!"

Brutishace ponders a bit this turn before executing his action. Did Drain Life not hurt allies? He might need to check to see if that was the case- either that, or his memory failed him again.

Regrettably, it would be impractical to use Twin Serpents for his plan, so he has a simpler one- advance to O20 and use his Ruiner Pistol to execute the second Seeker. He walks forward, pistol in hand, and does his task, taking careful aim with the pistol to ensure a killing shot.

He then advances to O21 to reap the Bastion's soul, which he does gleefully, transferring all benefits from Soul Siphon to EM3R4-LD.

Spoiler Alert

The Summa was feeling quite well about hitting that Amphi, but she wasn't exactly satisfied. She did damage, but didn't do nearly as much as she wanted. She looked at her hand for a moment, almost sure she was able to take it down in a single hit. Her concentration is broken when heard a cry from Marron behind her. She turned around, only to see Marron being attacked from multiple enemies.

"S-Summa! W-Why d-don't you like, kill these gorillaholes for me?!"

Gritting her teeth, Summa jumped to Marron's side, and immediately began to take action. She took the Silver Maria and slashed it horizontally at the Harpy, using her intellect to figure out that this bird-like creature probably has bones more brittle than thin glass, much like the birds of her realm. If all birds were like this on this planet, Summa was going to freak the gorilla out.

"So I kill one thing, and now I'm expected to kill everything?

Summa, hearing the Trickster nearby turns around instinctively, pulling out her Elemental Blaster and shooting it without hesitation. After a second of silence, observing the battlefield, Summa turns over to Marron, putting her Blaster away.

"I mean, I wouldn't mind, but I'd like to be told first, at least!" The Summa laughs a bit at her own quip, but she moves over to Marron, checking her over for damage, a hint of genuine worry on her face. "Did you get hurt?"

Summa moves to G9 and slashes at the Harpy with the Silver Maria, before turning around and shooting the Trickster with her Elemental Blaster.

Hex pulls out and chucks a Airstrike Flare to S24, then flips on over to Q15. He then activates his rocket boots and performs a Jetstream Jaunt, moving to R15, R16, and then S16, hitting two of the Amphi's segments, before firing the last blast into it's head. All three hits are changed to fire damage by his armor, gaining that sweet +15%.
HEX: Y'know, when I came to Sussui, I did not expect to be tapdancing on dragons. Funny where life takes you.

The light... Is white and comforting. But a few dull sounds are making it vanish. What... Just happened? Packo is lying on the floor...

A worried Ette seems to be screaming for him, as to which he starts moving his head side to side.

Then, he realizes, that he really did that.

He can't talk. But someone else can. He presses a button on his roller, still lying on the floor. The Bumblebeeps jump out, worried.

PACKOISOKAYBUTINSIDEHESNOTTHATOKAY

BIGDUMMYDIDSOMETHINGHESREGRETTINGNOW

Packo cringes, not sure if in physical or mental pain.

The Bumblebeeps try waking him up as well.

HEYTHEHOUSEISBEINGATTACKEDDUMMY

YOUDIDSOMEWEIRDTHINGCOMEONDONTSTOPFIGHTINGNOW

Packo slowly sits back.

"E-Ette? And you two..."

A shadow seems to be hiding his expression. He stands up, grabbing the roller, and slowly moving towards the Gazyer, who is technically scared of him. He moves to T11 and casts Riposte.

"You are probably going to respawn somewhere. If that is the case, then I will have no remorse doing this."

And then he whacks the Gazyer with all his might! ... The might of someone who isn't even that strong in the first place, though...

He sends Beep and Boop both to the Gazyer and Observer next to him.

-Battle: The House-

Irongutta moves to H16 by going through J20, I19, I18, and H17 in order to avoid the Carrion's ZoC. This moves him 5 tiles total, which activates Unstoppable Force with an extra +10% damage!

Overflowing with adrenaline, he brutally attacks the Bouquet that has been brought down to the ground floor at J16.

Auth moves to S16, and attacks to the West with his weapon skill. Should deal a decent amount of damage to the Amphi.

==BATTLE==
Nezira moves out to N14, uses a bonus action to scan the Gotou on Chaos (netting 2 Samples, 2 MP, and 10 SP), then zaps the Amphi with Proximity Burst -- if it's dead, she zaps the one of the Iti in the S18-T21 square that'll result in the most bounces.

...Might as well Observer Eye Scan Seeker 4 for an extra psychic damage ping. That's a valid tactic, right?

<ROUND ONE-HUNDRED AND FIFTY-TWO>
Echoss goes to do some crafting. He quickly tapes together a Searing Bomb with 1 Searing Powder, 1 Iron Ingot, and 1 Incendiary Scrap. He then opts to do some more adventurous crafts, creating 3 Wither Spheres with 3 Gigistems, 6 Buckets of Salt Water, 2 Locustgrowth, and then 4 Titanium Ingots. He then combines 5 Lumipods, 4 Luminous Crystals, 4 Thyme Matter Crystals, 4 Iron Ingots, 6 Wire Scraps, 2 Circuit Boards, and a single block of Cobblestone to create 2 Lumilures!

Venia also does some crafting. She starts by creating the Oceanic Scarf with 1 Tsunami Regalia, 1 Phase Matter, 3 Rose Weave, and a charge from the Chairleg Trident. It does appear to have more stats than the usual T5 headgear, but it's relatively spread out, and doesn't have any special effects, so... sure, why not? She then also tapes the Yaga Eyestalk to itself to create the Revolving Chamber!

<THE HOUSE, ROUND SEVEN>
The Iti, now mostly out of things to attack with, are but a minor threat to your group. Suddenly, there's a slight shift in battle tactics- rather than simply exterminating the Iti that come to you, you all decide to simply exterminate the Iti. Justice is swift, and the Iti are butched.

Now, thyme matter cakes the fields outside of the house. The carcasses of dozens- possibly even a hundred Iti- are sprawled across the grass, trees, walls, ruins… if there’s something that can have thyme matter caked into it, it’s most likely stained with viscera. The portal, now nearly fully charged, begins to glow and sparkle as light begins to pool in its center.

VENIA: Is it working?! Did we do it?!
VENIA: Nia, NIA! I’m coming!

CHLOE: I-I think we did it! I-I can… sorta make out something through that little sliver of light there...

Venia rushes straight to the portal, Future Assault tightly gripped. Nezira carefully examines the opening portal, clearly entranced by the technology on display. She jots down a few notes in an undecipherable notation.

NEZIRA: Very interesting. Very interesting indeed.

Irongutta was next to come in. The Ork was heavily stained by Thyme Matter, which wasn’t the most pleasant sight.

IRONGUTTA: Very fine tellyporta tech on display ‘ere. Seems good enuff.

Crya readies herself, breathing deeply and drawing a few signs in the air. Sensing something significant is about to happen, Verdana quickly turns his attention away from the last bits of battle, making his way back to the portal to watch what happens.

VERDANA+CAL: The portal… Time to go through already? Not that I’m complaining, it’s just I didn’t expect that so soon.

The portal widens ever so slowly, a dark room gradually revealing itself. It’s a bit on the dusty side, with all sorts of paraphernalia for various games scattered across the walls, intermingled with the occasional weapon of mass destruction. I mean, it’s probably not a weapon of mass destruction, but you can’t really quite tell with Xavier, can you?

Soon, the portal finishes its process, stabilizing its gateway to Earth. Save for what appears to be a small smattering of Thyme Matter and some bullet holes in the floor, Xavier’s room looks relatively untouched. Venia, without a second thought, walks through to the other side.

CHLOE: So, um…
CHLOE: Who’s going in there?
CHLOE: I’d love to go and retrieve her, and say hi to Mom, but the portal might close if I step through it, or something.

VENIA: Well… I’ve made my decision obvious. I’m going on ahead. I remember the steps.
VENIA: Open a lock below the bed…

CRYA: I am worried about the police. Despite my prowess I can still be shot.

VERDANA+CAL: What’s a police?
VERDANA+CAL: But more to the point, I’ll be going in soon! Just have to figure out how to unfuse, first...

CRYA: The police enforce law. They tend to have weapons on them.
VENIA: Verdana, as much as I understand why you’d want to go, you’re too important! If you go in, what if the portal closes? We’d be down one of our healers, and that’s too much of a risk already.
VENIA: I’d ask you stay behind, please. For everyone.

VERDANA+CAL: …
VERDANA+CAL: ...I…

The fusion stares blankly. It’s possible that the two components are having an internal conversation with each other. Flames flicker around the surface of the fusion’s body, met by the room darkening slightly around him… The flames slowly fade, and light returns to the room at the same time, the fusion sighing.

VERDANA+CAL: …Alright. I… did want to see what Earth is like, and, you know.
VERDANA+CAL: Be involved. I was already dead-set on helping with the rescue.
VERDANA+CAL: But… alright.
VERDANA+CAL: I’ll trust you on this one, miss Venia. Be careful over there, okay?

The fusion smiles sadly, raising one hand as if about to do something, but then shakes his head to himself and turns away. He soon moves over to sit beside Couchtron, watching everyone else continue with discussions.

NEZIRA: I’d love to examine some of Xavier’s work... it could provide some insights as to what he’s been doing to Nia, and what he was looking to do with the Chaos Butterfly. Plus, this technology is far too advanced for any relatively-baseline instance of Earth... how did he do it?
NEZIRA: Oh! And, of course, I transcribed the drone’s instructions on how to free Nia.
IRONGUTTA: Hrmph, woulda liked to go myself. Ah, as long as yer goin’ through, Nezira, think ya could go an’ “inspect” that weapons stockpile that’s supposed to be there? I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if ya took one or two off his ‘ands, heh.
NEZIRA: Certainly! I’m interested in his technology myself -- I’m not sure if I’ll be able to bring something out, but even if not, I’ll be taking scans and notes. We can reconstruct a few things later!

Nezira steps through the portal, already whipping out a notebook with one hand and a pen with the other, moving to examine a piece of technology. As everyone begins to slip through the portal, Chloe cries out after them.

CHLOE: Ah, um, good luck, everyone!
CHLOE: Try and not touch anything- we’d probably give my mother a heart attack if she found my brother’s room turned inside out…
CHLOE: I mean, she’d probably handle it, as she’s actually pretty stupid tough…
CHLOE: Former military, actually. Not that you’d really know it.

Turning around, Nezira tears herself away from examining Xavier’s room to reassure Chloe.

NEZIRA: Don’t worry. If nothing else, I’ll try and keep everyone on track.

As Venia explores the room, she notices Xavier’s bed- the first thing that was mentioned by the drone when it came to fetching Nia. As noted, there is a simple padlock on the side of the bed, sealing a small cubby shut. There is no key in sight. A bit of a chill crosses her- was something watching? Venia whips her head around to check around, gripping the gun tightly.

VENIA: Who’s there? Come out! We outnumber you!

Try as she might, nothing responds. She notices a camera in the upper reaches of the room, but it is unknown as to whether it was there before Chloe left for Sussui, or things like that. It might not even be a camera- for all she knew, it might be one of those VR devices that marked the corner of a room. Venia sighs at her paranoia, and returns to investigating the lock.

CRYA: Don’t be paranoid, Miss Venia.
VENIA: Trying my hardest not to be…
VENIA: How to open this sucker? Maybe if I just…

Venia just tries to open the padlock as if it were unlocked. It refuses to budge. Chloe, still watching through the portal, offers advice.

CHLOE: Oh, maybe just… whack it? Or use some magic on it?
CHLOE: I’m not sure if magic and stuff still works, but it looks like the Thymefield extends into the house.

NEZIRA: Let me test...

A spark of magic leaps from her palm, forming into a simple ball of light after a second.

NEZIRA: Everything seems normal with that spell. I’m guessing magic still works!
CRYA: I’m an ice goddess, let me try something!

Crya raises a finger, and a frost forms upon it. She forms a small icicle and strikes the lock with it several times. It breaks with little resistance. Venia just watches on, a bit dumbfounded at the lock’s fragility.

CRYA: Hmmph, easy!

Crya takes a moment to peel away the panel the lock was guarding, revealing a small cache of various computer parts- most of which look to be rather expensive. There’s also a few small gadgets and gizmos scattered about down there. As the drone stated before, the bottom panelling where all of the items lie is a fake. A cleverly concealed fake, but there’s clearly a point from which you can grab and remove the floorboard. Venia wastes absolutely no time in leaping down and ripping it clean off. A somewhat twisted passageway reveals itself- certainly a tight fit! Clearly, the tunnel was designed after the house was built.

CRYA: Damn, a whole tunnel! I’d never expect an adolescent to be able to perform this…
CRYA: But let us move post-haste!

NEZIRA: Well, that’s something interesting indeed. Wonder how the tunnel was dug out... let me just take some scans of these parts.
VENIA: Interesting or not we need to go on! Nia’s counting on us here, only so far to go.
VENIA: Next step… What’s the next step? My head’s still kind of swimming...

NEZIRA: Let me see... ‘Pull away the bottom panel. Descend the ladder.’ So, there should be a ladder somewhere down that tunnel...

Venia squeezes themselves into the tunnel. Crya slides on down after Venia, and Nezira follows. While it’s certainly a little claustrophobic, the tunnel eventually reaches an equally-constrictive shaft. This one however, is certainly more modern- silvery tiles reflect a blue-tinted fluorescent light. A long, metallic ladder seems to lead down to… nowhere. Seems like it’s still under construction?

VENIA: … I feel like there’s something more to this. Uh, next step after that?
NEZIRA: ‘Press the panel behind the third rung, and the panel behind the sixth rung before you get to the bottom.’ Down we go!

Venia and Nezira descend the ladder. Crya hesitates a bit before going down alongside the duo. Venia hits the third and sixth panels on the way down, with quite a bit of force-one cracks a bit. A sound echoes through the silvery shaft. “Yahaha!” It’s not entirely sure what produced the noise, but a burst of steam puffs from near the bottom of the shaft, revealing another small corridor. This one actually appears to lead into a room.

NEZIRA: ...A reference I should’ve expected.
CRYA: Hmm?
VENIA: Reference to what?...
NEZIRA: Too long of a story to recount here -- essentially, the sound of a secret being found in an Earth game. Which, as all works of fiction from Earthlikes tend to be, is a universe out there -- and that universe happens to be recorded in here. Now, as this likely leads into Xavier’s actual lab, I just have to take the first look...

Nezira takes point and finishes crawling through the narrow corridors, and emerges into a somewhat large underground chamber. It’s certainly not TOO deep underground, and there really could be more headroom (especially for Venia), but it’s certainly an impressive room. The group takes a moment to stretch a little as they take in the sights.

This room appears to be dedicated to some of the most important of Xavier’s tech. Blueprints are scattered about the walls, each with an accompanying model or prototype. A blueprint that details Xavier’s apparent expertise in portal technology is accompanied by a small, clock-sized portal. What appears to be a prototype God Hand from Chaos’s Mindscape occupies one side of the room, its fingers partially deconstructed to reveal some of its inner workings. There’s an excess of strange machinery that no other humans have used before.

NEZIRA: ...Incredible. How did he make so many advances from the technology level of a baseline Earth, in such a short time? Was it just by studying the technology of Ire, or...?
CRYA: Incredible, an adolescent made all this? It’s also only around the 21st century and lacking magic…
VENIA: … He didn’t. Not quite ‘alone’ anyways. Mari told me-she told me that Xavier got a lot of his tech information from the Chaos Butterfly. Theorems spilled out of Nia’s possessed mouth…
VENIA: … All of this was its manipulation. Every last bit of it. Xavier is genuinely talented, but not this talented, unfortunately. The only thing I know he made for sure was Chloe's Gladius.

As a more humble addition to the collection, there appears to be a replica of Chloe’s laser gladius upon a pedestal. There’s also several more assorted items of various levels of lethality, but that’s a lot to drink in. A panel on the far wall catches the group’s collective eye; it’s certainly several degrees better hidden than the previous fake panel. There’s no clear latches or keyholes for this one.

Crya is quick to form a miniature glacier and assault the panel with ice blocks. Venia follows up with telekinetic blasts. Crya finishes with a smack from her Ice Blaster. The panel is overkilled, breaking into metallic fragments. A staircase reveals itself that descends deep into the earth. It’s rather dark, only lit with the occasional blue bar of neon light. Venia unflinchingly rushes ahead and down.

NEZIRA: ‘Ignore the room full of potentially illegal weaponry, as it’s a distraction. It’s also all fake, we swear. Slide away the back panel of the room.’ None of this looks fake. I’m going to study this... if nothing else, we could learn how to counter some of Xavier’s tech. And learn what parts are Chaos-influenced vs. actually usable...
CRYA: l want to ask the boy some questions after all this.
VENIA: ARE YOU TWO GOING TO COME DOWN HERE AND HELP OR NO?!
CRYA: Don’t shout at someone with divine status!
CRYA: But… whatever.

NEZIRA: I suppose I was getting sidetracked... I can quickly examine some of these things later. Plus, of course, transcription spells.

Venia presses into the dark, the others following behind her. After a short eternity of stairs (about like maybe 40), the group emerges into yet another underground chamber. With the added depth, this one makes the previous one look like a ditch- this room has a proper domed ceiling, with wires strewn all about it.

This chamber appears to mean all business. Save for some structural supports and lights, there’s little to distract you from the upright pod full of a bubbly, sky-blue liquid. Several lights within the tube reveal Nia, who’s dressed in a somewhat simple set of white shirt and shorts. Her flowing brown hair floats freely around in the tube. She appears to be completely unaware of her surroundings, and generally unconscious.

CRYA: We’ve got her! How long has she been in there...
VENIA: NIA!!!!
NEZIRA: ...The PIN is 19851013. Go ahead, Venia.

Venia locates the terminal with uncanny speed and slams in the PIN. She’s shaking as she confirms it and rushes up to the tank, eyes wide, heart racing, mind shaking.

The pod lets out a series of loud siren blares as fluid begins to drain from the tube. Various devices release their suction-cup like grips from Nia, now being left to dangle freely from the top of the containment tube. Once the fluid has completely drained, Nia is left slumped on her knees in the middle of the tube. It doesn’t seem to lift up just yet. There’s probably a few more commands that need to be input to actually release her, but the terminal appears to be a mess at the moment- dozens of error messages, output logs- weird things like that.

CRYA: Nezira, do you know about this? Can you fix the errors? You should be decently knowledgeable in basic things like these!
NEZIRA: I’m not sure, but I can try. I think I’ve seen enough of Xavier’s-

Nezira is interrupted by Venia quite simply ripping the tube’s covering straight off the hinges with telekinetic force, rushing to grip Nia’s unconscious body. She gives her a few gentle shakes, getting a feel for her pulse. Fortunately for everyone in the room, she’s alive. In fact, despite being cooped up in a tube for some undisclosed time period, she’s looking strangely healthy, and only very slightly malnourished.

CRYA: Venia, don’t be so quick! Her vitality does not seem in check.
NEZIRA: Be careful! She could have needed to be unhooked properly to survive! I mean, she seems to be safe, but it’s never good to-
VENIA: I’M PANICKING OK!!!
VENIA: … She’s OK! She’s OK! Is she OK? Nia? Are you there?!

CRYA: Nia, are you alright?

A few more gentle shakes cause a small grunt to leave Nia. Her eyes slowly flutter open in Venia’s arms. An emerald green. No longer were they hollow voids. Still though, she seemed tired.

VENIA: ...Nia! You’re…
VENIA: … I’m… You’re...

NIA: Mmm...
CRYA: Nia, you’re awake! I am Crya, the Goddess of Ice! We are here to rescue you.
NIA: D-Don’t… g-go...

Suddenly, Nia snaps to attention, her eyes shooting wide open.

NIA: WAAAH!
NIA: W-What j-just…?

She takes in the sights. A variety of familiar faces stand before her.

VENIA: N-n-nia! Nia! You’re, you’re OK!
VENIA: … I… I’m… I don’t know what to say!
VENIA: I’m here for you, OK? We’ll just take you back to Sussui now, OK?

NIA: V-Venia? H-How d-did you…?
NIA: How did I…?

VENIA: Xavier sent a drone over to put up a portal! We came! I came for you, OK? Nia, can you stand?!
NIA: H-Hm? I… I don’t actually know…
NIA: I can’t really feel my body too well…
NIA: I mean, I can flex my fingers a bit, but… that’s it.

NEZIRA: Probably your nerves are affected from being hooked up to that vat for so long. You’ll likely recover soon... but you probably won’t be able to stand for a while, until your body’s more functional. We’ll bring you out.
CRYA: I am ready to carry you out, despite my young figure I have great strength!
CRYA: Anyways, we should get out of here soon, I say. If Xavier is just an adolescent, then his mother may be here, and if she sees all this she most likely will have a negative reaction.
CRYA…But…
CRYA:Why did you give away your body for an experiment like this?

NIA: I didn’t! I make bad life decisions, but nothing that stupid!
VENIA: Xavier did this while she was unconscious… I have no idea why, still.
CRYA: A kidnapping? Now I was here thinking of Xavier as an eccentric scientist… where I come from defiling a woman for any purpose is a horrendous sin.
NEZIRA: That’s... That’s just unconscionable. I’m somewhat disgusted.

Venia’s mouth still opens and closes, unsaid words falling to the air as she picks up Nia, looking at her eyes, her body, her everything. She’s still shaking, gesturing at the others to follow her back up the stairs. Nia is more than content to simply come along for the ride, taking in the sights.

NIA: Huh. Snazzy place.
NIA: You’d think that I’d actually know exactly where the hell I am.
NIA: Is Chloe’s basement this huge? Are we even in her house?

VENIA: Xavier… I don’t even know.
VENIA: L-last time I ever saw a p-place like this was made because someone could manipulate stone. Really well.
VENIA: … I’m… I’m really glad to see you OK, Nia. I can’t say that enough.

NEZIRA: ...Let’s go. I’ll want to examine Xavier’s work a little bit more as we exit, but we should bring Nia out of here as soon as possible. Everyone’s waiting on us -- and on her.
CRYA: Let us move. What will Xavier’s parents think of you? They might think you’re in a relationship with him or something.

Once the group heads back up to the weapons chamber, they struggle to push Nia up through the ladder. As they work on that, Nia suddenly seems to recall something.

NIA: O-Oh, right! That lady…
NIA: Her name was… Her?
NIA: R-Right, s-she was talking with me after I blew up n’ stuff…
NIA: It was surreal.

VENIA: … Can’t say I blame you for saying that.
VENIA: Any encounter with ...Yourself… That’s always surreal.
VENIA: Had one during the heart attack… Felt so strange… Uh, carry on, what happened?

NIA: So basically, we had a chat.
NIA: We were in this place, and everything was totally screwed up- some sort of weird mountain in a red sea of stuff, lots of little floating island fragments covered in snow…
NIA: Hell of a place to have a vacation.
NIA: I… remember talking with her about… well, myself.
NIA: For some reason, she expected me to be angry with her for some reason, yet at the same time, she thought she’d be angry at me…
NIA: It was super, really freaking weird.

Venia opts to solve the issue of getting Nia up the ladder by telekinetically lifting her from above. As she does so, Nezira walks around the lower room, carefully examining the blueprints and models on the walls, and taking scans of the prototypes and magical “photos” of the blueprints... as well as one of the replica laser gladius enthroned on its pedestal. She figures Chloe would wanna see it.

VENIA: Tell me if it gets rough, or anything.
NIA: Anyway, we ended up talking for a bit.
NIA: About the place we were in, how we’d move on…
NIA: ...As it turns out, Her was actually really scared when we talked.
NIA: She was so worried about our future, and… well, I told her that everything would be alright.
NIA: It’s… a bit weird, comforting a part of yourself.
NIA: I’m not sure if my words were really my own there- maybe they were like, a hybrid of our words, or something?
NIA: I… didn’t really know. It was surreal.

VENIA: … I think that was a good thing, at least. Good signs. Right? Everything’s OK? Did it work out?
NIA: I don’t know why, or how, but… things just sorta worked out.
NIA: Probably because she was me, and we were she, and blah blah blah.
NIA: She also asked me for something- a new name.
NIA: We both agreed that “Her” was kinda confusing, but neither of us were really collectively smart enough to come up with something appropriate.
NIA: ...Oh well. Probably should’ve actually paid attention in school or whatever…
NIA: Might’ve saved me from this mess.
NIA: Somehow.

NEZIRA: We can help you come up with something... later, I suppose, Have to focus on getting you back to everyone first.
CRYA: Possibly “Nives?” It’s kind of like knives, also similar to your name but quite different as well.
VENIA: … That doesn’t sound remotely appropriate at all, Crya.
CRYA: Sorry, trying to come up with good names is hard. I’m used to what you would call “exotic” names, such as Auralia, Annung, Sythra, Judeas…you get it.

The group eventually reaches the top of the ladder, with Venia telekinetically pushing Nia through the system of tunnels. The group eventually pops back out from below Xavier’s bed, and take a moment to dust themselves off. Venia then picks up Nia once again.

CRYA:Home stretch, we can get you back to your friends, Miss Nia.
NEZIRA: Yes, thank goodness, we’re almost back.
VENIA: … Nia… I-
NIA: ...Hey, what’s that glowy thing in the corner?

She attempts to point towards that camera-looking apparatus in the corner of the room. Unlike before, it’s glowing a soft green. Night vision, maybe? The group doesn’t have long to process what’s going on, before the door to the room is suddenly kicked open.

A figure covered in black tactical gear pushes into the room, a set of glowing green goggles adorning their face. In their arms is a strangely un-Thymecursed handgun of sorts. They pause, pointing their weapon directly at Venia. Venia responds in kind in seconds, eyes wild with fear.

???: ...Explain yourselves.
VENIA: ...I’m saving the first friend I’ve made in years from a kidnapper, and was hoping to just leave peacefully. D-don’t… D-don’t you dare… Dont you dare.
NEZIRA: Rescue mission. This girl was being kept somewhere against her will. We’re here to bring her back to freedom.
???: Oh, sure. You’re just another one of those strange creatures, aren’t you?

Crya instinctively raises her hand and Frost comes out. She looks at the lady menacingly, after smiling a bit at the getup. Nia meanwhile, rakes her brain, trying to remember something.

CRYA: Who are you, Solid Snake?
NIA: …
NIA: Oh, hi. Elena, right?
NIA: Hi! It’s me. Nia! Long time no see, right?

Crya quickly lowers her hand and any icy threat disappears.

???: ...Nia? When did you?

The figure lowers their weapon, stashing it away in a holster. They then raise their goggles, revealing a somewhat older woman- blue eyes, and a hint of blonde hair that’s slowly starting to fade to white. Total bewilderment crosses her face.

VENIA: Elena?...
NIA: Yeah! Chloe’s mom!
NIA: Ex-military. Crazy chick. I mean, not like, mentally crazy, but she’s pretty awesome.
NIA: I thought she gave her shooty stuff back to her team, though.

ELENA: ...I did. Then my children vanished, and there was a strange creature in their place.
ELENA: Apparently, normal weapons didn’t work, but we overcame those hurdles with a bit of experimentation and gunsmithing. And then lead.

NEZIRA: ...Strange creatures? Were there... Iti coming into your home? All sizes and shapes, bleed purple goo... Sorry for the cold reception and for our combat gear -- we’ve been fighting them as well.
VENIA: It appears so, given the state of the room… Understandable, quite frankly.
CRYA: Sorry, m’lady. We are here to rescue this young girl from her confinement.
ELENA: Sure. I’ll believe that.
ELENA: I’ll believe basically anything at this point.
ELENA: Fairly certain that the weird… space disk in that corner over there is magical.
ELENA: So yeah. I’ll believe whatever the gori- erm, heck you say.

NEZIRA: It’s technically technological, but yes... that’s also the way we got here in the first place.
VENIA: … Elena. This will… Take a while to explain. Chloe’s OK-she’s safe with us, for now. Xavier’s also safe. Xavier made that ‘space disk,’ and is also the reason why we came out of the bottom of this bedroom with Nia. Xavier is also why Nia went missing for a month-engineered some nutty coverup, couldn’t believe it myself.
NEZIRA: She was literally floating in a tank of liquid down there, hooked up to a robot body Xavier made to control it remotely. Put in there against her will, I might add.
VENIA: Also, world is literally ending in less than a week. Thought I should mention that.
ELENA: ...Chloe is safe?
ELENA: Thank gori- erm, god. Thank god.
ELENA: ...Um, I have a feeling that you’ll want to keep this short.

The portal begins to waver ever so slightly. It seems like it’ll be another few minutes before it collapses, but still.

NEZIRA: Chloe’s about the safest she could be -- she’s with us. And yes, we probably need to keep this short. Looks like our way back is becoming unstable.
CRYA: Lady Elena, there is the threat of multiversal destruction by a being known as the Chaos Butterfly. Chloe and Nia are two of the brave warriors we have met and have aided us in this goal.
CRYA: For a girl with no innate magic powers I am highly proud of her abilities.

VENIA: Guys, guys, short and simple.
VENIA: SO! Quick thing. Xavier is a Descendant! You know. One of those guys. More accurately he controlled one of the big Twelve, known as Irecreeper. Except everything has gone horribly wrong. Irecreeper has gone crazy and is about to literally commit omnicide before the twenty-fifth of october. Xavier went off to stop it. Chloe came along to rescue Xavier.

ELENA: …I have literally no idea what most of those terms mean.
ELENA: Is this some new slang that I’m yet to hear of? Military jargon?

VENIA: You remember the hubbub about some ‘godmodder’ gorilla screwing with things? It has a lot to do with that but very little at the same time.
NEZIRA: Maybe save the multiversally-relevant terminology for when we’re back where everyone understands? Simply put, Xavier got involved in some pretty nasty stuff after discovering an incredibly ancient program and trying to run it. One of the results of that -- an advanced AI infected by a malevolent virus (the aforementioned Chaos Butterfly) and powered up by a reality-affecting item -- is causing problems for another universe, including creating those ‘strange creatures’ from before as an invasion force, and is charging up to obliterate a... large chunk of existence, I don’t know how large.
CRYA: May I mention that your son Xavier kidnapped Nia and defiled her in an experiment?
VENIA: … ‘Defiled’ is not the word I would use. That’s implying a whole new breed of things. But… Yes, he kidnapped her.
NIA: Can confirm, am not defiled. But yeah, he’s sorta...

Nia attempts to wave a finger around her head to indicate that Xavier’s “cuckoo”, but is still incapable of moving her arms at this moment in time. She pouts.

VENIA: Point is-we’re trying to stop Xavier from doing any more harm, as he’s being manipulated by very bad things, Chloe is helping us, Chloe refuses to leave for safety, if you want to help us hop through this portal because holy gorilla we need it.
VENIA: also please tell me there isn’t any suited man behind you I may be hallucinating badly right now

ELENA: ...Suited man? I don’t believe so, no.
ELENA: ...While I’d… ahem, “love” to help you with… saving the universe, I’m a little old for that sort of thing...

NIA: Aw. I’m pretty sure you’d be a pretty high-tier character, too.
ELENA: ...Thank you Nia, but I don’t know what that means.
ELENA: ...Besides, I doubt there’s much I could do to help. Most equipment doesn’t seem to work near our house, for some reason.

NEZIRA: There’s people from literally everywhere and beyond helping out. But, your choice is certainly a valid one and I won’t try to convince you otherwise.

VENIA: … We should get going. Nia, you want to go with us back to Sussui, right?
NIA: Sure.
NIA: It’s not like I had a life on this dumb planet, anyway.
NIA: Besides, sticking with you seems like its own reward~

She attempts to input an emotion, but finds that she no longer has that functionality in her body. So instead, she winks manually. Venia blushes.

CRYA: Ooh, is this love blos-
VENIA: Wh-wh-whhh, whhhhaaa?!?
CRYA: I’m just kidding, I’m not doing that to you guys. I’m just messing with you, saying something like that is something only Eroa would say!

Venia’s evolved her Blushtech to Level 2: Red like Roses. Meanwhile, the portal has not wasted time becoming progressively more unstable. There’s likely only three minutes of space-time fuel left or whatever.

VENIA: Oh, yes, uh, Elena. Don’t ask why-but do you have any leftovers? Before we go?
CRYA: Well, Lady Elena, it was nice to meet you. However, we must move posthaste. I hope that we may be able to see you again, and that we will be able to return your children safely… and one behind bars, maybe.
NEZIRA: It was nice to meet you, Ms. Elena. Rest assured that Chloe and Nia are in the best of hands -- and Xavier can take care of himself, wherever he is. I’ve seen enough proof of that.
ELENA: ...Same.
ELENA: It seems like I’ll have my work cut out for me now. A missing girl isn’t actually all that missing, I need to call off some search teams, and… well, this’ll generally be awful to explain.

ELENA: ...Ah, one more thing.
ELENA: May I speak with my daughter?

VENIA: Oh, yes.
VENIA: Ahem.
VENIA: CHLOE! YOUR MOM’S ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PORTAL!

NEZIRA: ...She’s right on the other side of the portal. Go ahead, though it might need to be fast... the portal is losing power.

Venia takes this moment, and carrying Nia with her, hops on through to the other side before she forgets, gets stranded, and feels spectacularly stupid. Nezira follows, after checking that she has all the data on Xavier’s technology she needs. Chloe, who’s been busy tending to her own wounds, suddenly perks up at hearing Venia call her name. Immediately, she bolts to the base of the portal. Elena’s eyes light up as she sees Chloe’s face through the portal.

ELENA: C-Chloe!
ELENA: I… I...

She reaches through the portal to pull Chloe into a hug, before quickly disengaging due to fear of getting bisected by a portal. Chloe begins to tear up almost immediately.

CHLOE: M-Mom?
CHLOE: I-I’m sorry, I-I should’ve told y-you a-about-

ELENA: It’s alright, Chloe. I understand.
ELENA: ...I mean, I don’t. But from what I’ve heard, you’re quite the capable fighter, aren’t you?
ELENA: You’re really taking after me. Not in a way I expected, but...

CHLOE: ...I-I know. It’s hard to understand.
CHLOE: I’m… sorry for running off without telling you, a-and for everything…
CHLOE: But… I-I’m just so g-glad to see you again!
CHLOE: Even if it’s only for a little.

The portal begins to waver even more, and actively begins to shrink in size.

ELENA: ...Chloe, promise me one thing.
ELENA: Bring everyone back safely, okay?
ELENA: Xavier, Nia, and yourself.
ELENA: It must be… unimaginably hard, fighting on some planet away from home, and I wish I could really relate to your problems…
ELENA: But I know you can stay strong. You’re incredibly strong, keeping it together after everything with Nia, and…
ELENA: ...Point is, I know you can do it.

CHLOE: I-I…
CHLOE: Thank you.
CHLOE: I-I’ll… I-I’ll bring them both home safely! I swear!
CHLOE: That was the plan from the start, a-and I know that I can do it with everyone’s help!
CHLOE: No matter what comes in our way… w-we’ll make it! All of us!

ELENA: ...That’s my girl.
ELENA: Now, one more thing.
ELENA: Before the portal closes, I have something for you.
ELENA: One second.

Elena sprints off, returning in about thirty seconds with a small tub of… something, as well as what appears to be a roughly assembled lunch.

ELENA: Here.
ELENA: This was going to be your dinner before the portal closed- burritos. Your favorite.
ELENA: The tub is for Nia- we happened to have some strawberry ice cream around, and I know it’s one of her favorites.

The two are quickly tossed through the now somewhat small portal. Chloe collects them, catching them in her arms.

CHLOE: Oh, thanks!
CHLOE: ...So.

Venia tries to reach into one of her small distortions, thinking of giving back some cash for Elena, only to get greeted with a thymecursed purple. She sighs. The portal begins to shrink at a rapid rate now.

CHLOE: T-This is… goodbye for n-now, isn’t it?
VENIA: Seems like it. Remind me to make sure I come back… I have more to repay you for than you’d imagine.
CRYA:It was good to meet you, Miss Elena. Let us meet again, possibly.
NEZIRA: Indeed it was... good luck. Chloe and Nia are safe... and if I have anything to say about it, Chloe will come back knowing magic.
ELENA: ...I’ll look forward to that!

ELENA: Return safely, Chloe.
ELENA: I-I… know you will.
ELENA: Goodbye, Chloe.

CHLOE: G-Goodbye, mom! I-I’ll see you soon!
CHLOE: L-Love you!

Chloe is greeted with one last smile as the portal finally fades from existence. The frame that once held the portal begins to spark and fume. It then rather suddenly catches fire and falls apart. Venia immediately casts a watered-down Super Soak to prevent a fire from breaking out.

Then, Venia looks at Nia-who’s she set upon Couchtron. She’s basically indistinguishable from the Nia she’s been travelling with-but somehow familiar all the same. Probably because they're literally the same person. Without wasting any more time, Venia walks forwards and delivers Nia a big, meaty hug.

VENIA: … I’m… I’m just so glad you’re safe!

Venia tears up. Nia attempts to embrace with her, but her arms still aren’t responsive. Fortunately, she at least manages to raise her arms a little.

VENIA: I, I, I thought I’d never see you a-again! That I’d be l-l-lonely f-forever, and-and…
VENIA: I… It was all so super-weird ‘n’ such, but I’ve been thinking about you like l-literally all the time now and I can’t, I can't get anything about it out of my head! I thought it was just worry about the Chaos Butterfly but, but it wasn’t and, and…
VENIA: … I’m, I'm just so happy you’re safe! That will never happen to you again! Nothing like that will EVER happen to you again! I won’t let you get hurt ever, ever again! Not on my life!

CRYA: It is good to have you back, Miss Nia. We need as many allies as we can, for more strength and…
CRYA: Emotional support.

On that note, Chloe moves in, and also gives Nia a big hug. Nia firmly wishes that she could hug people at this point in time, but one-way hugs are cool, too.

CHLOE: I-I thought I lost you again…
CHLOE: I-I was so distraught, a-and...

NIA: Clearly, you need to have more faith in me~
CHLOE: W-Well… I-I mean, I-I never thought that-

Nia giggles at Chloe, and the two continue to embrace for some time. Chloe soon sits back up, and runs off to go and tell everyone else of the good news. Crya looks down slightly, as if to reflect, but then looks back up and smiles at Nia. Venia just continues to hug/cry over Nia, though eventually relents to just sit next to her.

NIA: ...Oh, uh.
NIA: Could… s-somebody get me some proper clothing?
NIA: Feels like I’m wearing paper, and it’s a bit cold in here...

CRYA: …Would you like your sweater back? I also think Venia dyed her hair the same color as yours from your robot form. I don’t know, just an observation.
NIA: Sounds like a start.

Crya grabs the ends of her sweater before remembering that there were other sweaters and grabbing one sweater out of the closet.

CRYA: Here. Now, we will have to work on what else to give you…
CRYA: Well, I’m not sure what to give you, but if I remember, you’re an ice mage, like me. Venia could work on something with you, she seems very close to you, and she might know what you need. Talk it over with her, I have far too high standards for a magician to be a good consultant in this situation.

NIA: Alright.
NIA: Ooh, I do want my old staff back.
NIA: ...Boxican, right? That’s his name?

For now, Nia would need to wait.

Insert other people gushing over Nia down here

Just barely in view, the fusion form of Verdana and Calibri watches proceedings for a while without saying much. He soon closes his eyes, and in a flash of light, there’s now two separate entities once again. Calibri keeps watching, while Verdana pushes himself up off the floor to get a little closer, hopping onto one side of Couchtron. While still upset about not being part of the rescue team, he at least seems happy enough right now.

VERDANA: Welcome back, miss Nia!
VERDANA: It’s good to see you safe and here again. Several of us were worried...
VERDANA: I trust the others have already got you caught up on anything you missed?
VERDANA: ...Oh, before I forget.

Verdana concentrates for a moment, then hands something over to Nia. By the look of what he handed over, it’s a Chibi Nia, specifically the wizard outfit one from the earlier fight.

CHIBI NIA: Niii!

The Chibi Nia climbs onto Nia’s head, and sits down there. Both Nias seem enamored with one another.

NIA: ...This is kinda weird, but… cute!
NIA: We need like, chibi Venia’s. And a chibi Chloe.

VERDANA: This smaller version of you appeared earlier when I put on one of the…
VERDANA: ...Infinite copies of your sweater how did that even happen
VERDANA: Oh well, the main thing is that you might see a few tiny versions of you around sometimes. They’re cute and neat.
VERDANA: ...Maybe once I figure out how that works, I… could try making the chibi Venias and Chloes into being a thing, somehow. That’s a pretty nice idea, actually.

The kitchen door then swung open. Irongutta hurriedly emerged from the kitchen and rushed over to greet Nia.

IRONGUTTA: Nia! Yer back! Ahaha, I knew ya were too tough to really be exploded!

Before she could do anything, Irongutta already had her locked in an embrace with one arm. He then noogied her for a second before catching himself and quickly releasing her.

IRONGUTTA: Er, sorry ‘bout that. Good to ‘ave ya back, lass.
NIA: ...I'm pretty sure I actually exploded, but hey- it's good to see you again!
NIA: And this planet, actually.
NIA: Sure, I might've been enslaved into doing things for Xavier, but I actually have some pretty nice memories of this place...
NIA: Kinda feels like I've... been away from home, or something? Something like that.

Omo and Marron opt to take a visit to the portal. Both of them seem moderately excited to see her, with Omo even smiling somewhat.

OMORIKA: Miss Khioneas. I am ecstatic to see that you are with us again.
OMORIKA: Are you well? Surely, it must've been rough, going through what you did...

NIA: Yeah, I'm okay! I mean, I can't really move right now, but i-it's slowly coming back to me!
OMORIKA: ...Curious. Perhaps a massage might loosen up your bones?
NIA: Maaaaybe.
NIA: Heh, I should get Venia to help me with that~

MARRON: Holy gorilla, you're alive!?
MARRON: Huh. Guess dying violently doesn't mean anything then, does it?

NIA: I mean, pretty sure dying violently still sucks.
MARRON: ...I'm actually strangely glad to see you, though.
MARRON: Kinda makes it feel like the Butterfly didn't make us eat
gorilla
NIA: ...Thanks?
MARRON: L-Look, it's h-hard to express this, o-okay!?
NIA: Nah, I get it. It's nice to see you too!

Everyone's taking a moment to clamor around Nia. Sure, she might still be moderately immobilized, but she's back, and now in person! Nia has rejoined the party! It seems like her Trait and Special have received changes to celebrate no longer being an entropy-possessed robot! Her experiences that she's been through have also leveled up her trait! In addition, Elena has gifted the party a Packaged Lunch! Now you have two of them! There was also a tub of ice cream, but it seems like Nia's busy polishing that off as we speak.

Anyway, with the next update, expect your trek into Zone 4 to begin! For now, why not settle down, craft something, and maybe get back to sleep if you're into actually sleeping? Be seeing you soon!

Oh, one more thing.

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: They Don't Haze Me Anymore

This promptly causes Nia to tier up to a Tier 3 trait. Lucky her!

Stat changes:
I swap out to the itemcannon weapon Tazz makes me later in the round. This increases Echoss's SPC and MHP by 2, increases his STR by 1, and decreases his INT and AGI by 1.
I then shuffle around some stat points: -3 from SPC, -2 from RES, -2 from DEF, -1 from STR, +1 to AGI, +1 to INT, +1 to MHP, +6 to MOV

Previously, before the battle ended: Echoss takes a look in the inventory really quick, then looks back at Marron. "According to the labeling, these cartons contain eggnog, presumably they're the ones that Chaos purchased for our 'Christmas celebration' yesterday."

Additionally, Echoss drops by Salix, Willow, and Taeda. (several of his butterflies sneak into the inventory and slice one of the rebellion banners into three pieces, making large sections of cloth that can sorta be used as blankets. Good thing army banners tend to be so ludicrously big, we seem to have a lack of spare bedding.)
"Thank you Master Salix" Echoss graciously takes the picnic basket and stows it in the team inventory. "We appreciate you staying to help with routing the Iti as well, knowing that we have your trust even in these trying times is enough in all honesty."
He turns to Willow
"I don't think anyone objects to you staying with us for the night, though I do hope you have a good excuse to give to your superiors. As I understand it we are not particularly well liked amongst the Legion as a whole."
He pulls two of the banner blankets out of the inventory, or tries to. They're still really big, and the top one promptly spills out of his arms and onto the floor. The far tip of it drapes over Taeda's head though fortunately not blocking her view. "Ahhh... my apologies, I tried to have some of my butterflies cut up one of the rebellion banners we claimed in the gardens but it seems I misjudged my measurements. In any case, we have something of a shortage of sleeping space at the moment. Given we seem to be collecting new members and allies constantly even though we are several days into this endeavour I may need to put some time into expanding the grounds of the house tomorrow, but for now I suggest you find a good place on the floor or in a chair. It is not much, but I suppose it's better than sleeping out in the woods with the Iti."
Echoss attempts to recollect the dropped 'blanket', but only succeeds in losing his command over the other one as well. He finds himself grasping nothing more than the edge of it, and sighs, letting it drop to the floor. "While I do seem to be a bit less capable tonight than I usually am, if you are in need of assistance settling in I will do what I can to aid you."

In the kitchen a few butterflies flutter in through a slightly open door and drape one of the banner blankets over Clausa, Clausa will probably appreciate the blanket over not having it. The butterflies promptly close the door, don't want to let a draft in. It then occurs to Echoss that he just trapped several of his butterflies in the kitchen, so they just flutter over to the countertop and rest.

After that he also pops out back since it seems everyone's forgotten Bass. Echoss seems a little busy, but everyone needs to be checked on.
"Hello there Master Bass." He leans over the hole. "Quite prudent of you to deal with them as such." He pauses. "Did we ever do anything about the last Chosen? ...No. We didn't did we? Oh well, a problem for later then it seems."
He looks over at Bass. "Thank you for your assistance though, you have helped quite a bit even in the brief time I have been here with the Spherebreakers. I wish I could spend more time to check up on your status, but I already seem to be stretching myself rather thin... If you have any injuries, Miss Taeda is tending to the others' wounds within the house I believe."
"I hope you rest well tonight." And from there Echoss moves on, there's still a lot to do.

Omorika (Marron, Toast, and Ette likely tagalongs) RP
Nezira RP but that's part of one of the resource actions

The RP stack goes here:
Ansem

Echoss watches as the portal is set up and everyone goes through it, sitting in the corner of the room as events begin to play out and then the long wait during the portal adventures while a few others set about to finding rest or repairing the house. It isn’t long before the movement of Ansem’s Guardian, restless now for some reason, catches Echoss’s attention, and with it notice of the impassive, stoic, Darkness radiating Ansem.

"Well isn't that curious… He showed up during the battle… Peculiar."

Ansem idly glances to the side, noticing Echoss. He looks away… Only to suddenly turn back. Several things came across to Ansem as ‘Wrong’, which considering the nature of Darkness was very alarming indeed. Ansem discreetly floats closer to Echoss. When he reaches him, he decides to take the discreet, cloak and dagger approach, knowing how sensitive people can be about Darkness.

Fascinating portal isn’t it?” He says, trying to strike up casual conversation for the first time since becoming a Heartless. “Far unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

Echoss raises an eyebrow at Ansem, looking between him, the guardian, and the portal. "It is rather… ingenious, I must admit. If there's enough of it left afterwards perhaps I'll take a look at it to see how it punches through the thymefield so easily."

It was Ansem’s turn to do some eyebrow lifting. “The Thymefield? Does this have to do with the creatures we met before?

Echoss chuckles. "Ah, it seems you're a bit behind still. Yes, actually, it does. Both of them have the same source and both of them were created expressly to keep anyone from accomplishing what we're setting out to do."

Really now?” Ansem’s expression grew intense in scientific curiosity. “If it’s not too much trouble, perhaps you could tell me more about what the Thymefield does specifically, and how it works.

"It is effectively a universal power dampener, designed to keep most individuals from outside the world depowered and unable to pose a threat, and to keep any individuals powerful enough to find ways to sneak past those limitations out altogether."

So instead of a magic to bring out more flavor and power, it’s one that counteracts and cuts it down to the ‘cooks’ palette?” Ansem said with a playful ease in his voice. “To think I would be applying the field of cooking to magic... Which does lead me to ask if you know how such a thing works.

Echoss chuckles, his guard seems to be dropping just a bit. "I didn't expect puns from something, or one, like you. But yes, quite like that in fact." He sighs. "I'm afraid I don't know how it works. I have a few ideas, as it took a fair amount of… loophole abuse shall we say? To get myself here in the first place. All I really know is that it utilizes plot magics and entropic energies to attain this effect."

Plot Magics? Entropic Energies?” He asks, diegning not to pry into Echoss what he knows or suspects about Ansem’s state of being right away.. “I’m afraid I’m not familiar with those terms, except in how the former is used in a literary sense and the latter in a physics oriented sense.

"It seems you have a lot in terms of Multiversal antics to learn then. You ever traveled between universes before, Ansem?"

Ansem actually has a look of shame, at that moment.

I’m afraid not. I’ve been to other Worlds, but the idea of other Universes...” He shakes his head in distress. “I know nothing of the matter. And therefore I can understand nothing in that vein until I do.

Echoss sighs and scratches the back of his head. "Well, that… complicates things somewhat I suppose." He looks back at the night outside. "If you wish to ask me your original question, you should probably do it now. I need to get to work on assisting with house repairs now, before everyone begins heading to sleep."

Ansem blinks at this, but in retrospect, he hadn’t exactly been good at subtlety in any of his incarnations. “Very well. It’s about your Darkness. Or rather… it’s about the lack of Dark power, despite the great sadness and other Darkness spawning emotions in your Heart. More specifically… Why and how?

Echoss' expression darkens. "Ah, so your shadow is of that manner, is it? I'm afraid those are answers I don't give out to many individuals. You will have to do a fair amount to become one of them." He turns and moves out through the front door without another word.

Hm. It seems that I hit upon a sore spot. I will have to remember that.” Ansem murmurs to himself making a note of that final, potent pulse of ‘emotional Darkness’, as he’d have to classify it.

With the conversation over, Ansem returns to watching the events unfold about the portal. Echoss looks up into the sky after leaving from his conversation with Ansem and then sighs, moving on to other things. He has a lot to do before the night ends, there's not enough time to stop.

Chloe

As the night marches onward, Chloe is left by Nia’s side. Sure, the former is nearly totally exhausted, but Nia’s still full of energy, and not very capable of sleeping. Besides, the blonde was waiting for someone; the collector, Echoss.

NIA: Oh, hey! I can kinda move my arm now!
NIA: Gimme the spoon, I should be able to...

Chloe hands Nia the spoon that she’s been feeding her ice cream with. With trembling hands, Nia begins to feed herself, slowly getting used to the motions of an actual, weighty arm.

CHLOE: Ooh! Actually kinda surprised at how fast you’re regaining motion...
NIA: I mean, I was told that I was being sustained with “the finest nutrients”, whatever the hell that actually means.
NIA: I guess “the finest nutrients” are actually helping, then…?

Just then, Boshi arrives. He approaches the duo, seemingly relieved at everything going smoothly for once. He smiles.

BOSHI: (Hey, Nia. Glad ya got back safely.)
NIA: Hiya. Nice to see that… nobody died while I was gone?
NIA: Yeah. That.

BOSHI: (Heh, if our numbers went down I’d be way more concerned than I already am. In fact, we got a few new arrivals.)

Boshi sits down on the floor next to the couch.

BOSHI: (So… how’re you feeling? From the looks of it, ya went through a lot.)
NIA: I’m… well, I kinda feel like garbage at the moment, and I can’t move my body, but… otherwise, I’m alright.
NIA: Comes with the territory of being me.

CHLOE: That’s sorta… dark.
CHLOE: Everything okay there?

NIA: ...Yeah. Everything’s fine, don’t worry.
BOSHI: (...Huh? I must be out of the loop about all this. What makes you say that, Nia?)
BOSHI: (...Or is that sensitive info?)

CHLOE: It’s complicated.
NIA, AT THE SAME TIME: It’s complicated.
BOSHI: (Ah, alright. Got it. Won’t ask to elaborate.)
BOSHI: (...dang, ya must’ve lead a real awful life, though. Sorry ya had to go through… whatever it was you had to go through.)

The conversation is interrupted by the fluttering of butterflies outside the front door. It opens and closes rather quietly, admitting one Echoss. He walks over to the common room and sets a log down on the floor to use as a chair.

ECHOSS: Hello there Miss Elem, Master Boshi. And it is good to see you in good condition Miss Khioneas, or, relatively good condition I suppose.
ECHOSS: Better than where you were held before at the least I hope.

BOSHI: (Oh hey Echoss. Long time no see.)
BOSHI: (...Even though it’s only been half a day or so. Eh.)

NIA: Oh, hiya!
NIA: Haven’t seen you in a bit! Probably because I… y’know, died.

CHLOE: It’s good to see you again!
ECHOSS: It would be a bit more than that Miss Khioneas, I have actually been absent from Sussui since the rollback.
ECHOSS: I am actually talking with you right now to give a bit of an explanation, but first perhaps we should give Master Brutishace a moment to come in and situate himself, he will likely be interested in the explanation as well even if just out of idle curiosity.

BOSHI: (Oh yeah, I was gonna ask him something, too. Good opportunity to do so.)

Echoss turns to the spiral staircase as Brutishace ascends, giving everyone a concerned but sympathetic look, and waves him over to the group in the middle of the room. Brutishace walks over to the group and kneels down, with a more animated Nia catching his eye.

IAWA: Ah, Nia. I’m glad to see you’re doing better than when I last saw you.
NIA: Yeah. I should be able to actually help you guys out again tomorrow.
IAWA: Oh, that’s great. I wonder what awaits us ahead. Does anyone here have any guesses, educated or otherwise?
CHLOE: From what I’ve heard, we’re visiting this place called the “Old Pass”. Apparently, it should be a quick job, so… maybe we’ll get a chance to relax and explore the nearby village!
BOSHI: (Best keep our expectations in check, though. It might be much more difficult than we think it’ll be.)
ECHOSS: Definitely. I have done a bit of aerial surveillance and it has very high rose cult presence. Not only that but the Netwyrm that began harassing us today is, according to Omorika's notes in the codex, located there as well.
IAWA: Hmm, interesting, I’ll be glad to help get the Netwyrm out of our hair. I wonder to what extent the area’s been developed- from its description, I don’t expect very many buildings or more permanent structures, but I could be wrong.
ECHOSS: Not many, but some. It has what used to be a major religious landmark there before the Sphere happened. That at least will be worth checking out.
CHLOE: A church, right? Or something similar?
CHLOE: ...I wonder what Chairian religion is like.

Chloe remembers the reason why she’s here, and motions to interrupt the discussion.

CHLOE: Oh, um...
CHLOE: Echoss, you wanted us here for a reason, right?

Echoss blinks, then nods.

ECHOSS: Ah, yes, apologies.
ECHOSS: You requested an explanation for my sudden absence and equally sudden reappearance, and I figured now would be a good time to explain some of the…
ECHOSS: incongruities in my behavior I'm sure you've noticed.

CHLOE: ...Yeah.
CHLOE: It’s kinda weird when people just sorta blink in and out of existence.

IAWA: Yeah, I would appreciate an explanation as well.
IAWA: To satisfy my curiosity if nothing else, as I’ve never met you before your reappearance.

BOSHI: (I admit it was a bit unprecedented, but I guess you have your reasons, Echoss.)
ECHOSS: Indeed I do, that reason being that the main form I've been… actually, let me start with context.
ECHOSS: The reason I disappeared comes, at root, from the fact that I am not actually here in person. I am using an avatar of sorts.
ECHOSS: There's a few reasons for that, but for starters...

CHLOE: Wait, so…
CHLOE: ...you’ve never actually set foot on this planet yourself?

ECHOSS: Yes and no. It's a similar, though still different, case to Miss Khioneas. While my "original" body still remains within my home domain, I have had a fair amount of my attention focused here.
ECHOSS: The thymefield seems to take issue with using an avatar to subvert the usual threat of having my power reduced enough to let me have my throat ripped out by seekers.
ECHOSS: Or perhaps it just dislikes my energy signature, I don't think I could physically set foot here with my "main" body anyways.

BOSHI: (Huh. The more you know.)
IAWA: Hmm, interesting. I wonder if anything about your home realm is vastly different from the Thymefield…
BOSHI: (Probably. I think I heard him mention some place called the Void a few times… something there might be stopping him.)
BOSHI: (...I suppose this is also related to the butterflies. Seems like that’s how you get around to places.)

ECHOSS: The Void is not where I live… sort of. Tonight is not the time for Multiversal Travel 101 however, that should wait for the morning or so.
ECHOSS: But yes, the butterflies are related. In fact, they're made of the same stuff as my main form, for modularity and easy repair outside of combat. Observe.

Echoss promptly explodes.
Into butterflies but this likely still takes the others in the room quite by surprise. The butterflies flutter around the room for a few seconds before collecting back on the stump and reforming into Echoss, none the worse for wear.

ECHOSS: Ta-dah.
NIA: Ooh! Pretty.
IAWA: That was quite the demonstration! Part of the beauty of having a simulacrum.
CHLOE: ...Huh.
CHLOE: So… if the butterflies are made out of the same stuff as the actual you…
CHLOE: Are you… like, a hivemind, or something like that…?
CHLOE: I can’t really imagine how else it’d work.

Echoss stops and contemplates this for a moment, humming slightly.

ECHOSS: I never actually thought of it that way. I suppose I should note that the butterflies, and by extension my avatar, are magical projections and not actually made of the same stuff as "me"...
ECHOSS: I suppose that given how much I use the projections nowadays I very well could be considered a hivemind.
ECHOSS: That is rather peculiar to consider.

IAWA: Hmm, interesting. So do you command these butterflies to create simulacrums for you?
ECHOSS: command would be the wrong word for it, they have tiny splinters of my consciousness latched into them so to speak.
ECHOSS: It makes them rather difficult to use in large numbers, and was even more difficult to build into the spell, but it was the only way I could get them to work through the thymefield.

Chloe ponders this for a second.

CHLOE: This is actually making me wonder even more why you vanished for a bit.
CHLOE: Did you like… maybe need to devote some attention to something outside of the Thymefield, and you couldn’t quite properly control the bits of you on this planet…?

ECHOSS: well, I have been having a problem of that nature, but it isn't why I disappeared.
ECHOSS: You recall when we wound up on Creation and met the Operator, yes?
ECHOSS: I started… losing connection so to speak when that happened. The timestreams here on Sussui and back in my home were beginning to disconnect, and then did so completely when the rollback happened and reverted Sussui's time back.
ECHOSS: While I believe it wasn't a large rollback, it was still enough. I have to do some… workarounds to keep my avatar active through the thymefield, those workarounds have to be kept in sync with the field or they stop working.
ECHOSS: Time was rolled back for all of you, but not for me, and I lost sync with my mental link.

NIA: ...So you just sorta… ignored the universe resetting?
NIA: That’s kinda… overpowered, or something?
NIA: Point is, you’re probably something special if you can just sorta go “aw shucks, reality did an oopsie”.

ECHOSS: Ah, no, it's not like that. From what I'm aware of, update terminals only focus on select areas at once. The one here is focused on Sussui and related areas.
ECHOSS: Where my main body is currently isn't under its gaze and so wasn't rolled back. All of my butterflies were rolled back properly, and I would've expected my avatar to have done so as well, but I can't find it anywhere so I suppose it was destroyed by the backlash or something.
ECHOSS: Even without the thymefield in place I doubt I could even give the terminal pause, and simply going with the rollback would've saved me much headache besides.

Boshi seems kind of spaced out after the mention of “ignoring the universe resetting”. Probably thinking about something. He doesn’t really snap back to attention in a normal sense, but sorta just nods along.

BOSHI: (Makes sense to me.)
BOSHI: (...Sorta wish it didn’t, though.)

ECHOSS: To make an oversimplified metaphor, I got desynced from the server and removed automatically, then had trouble logging back in.
ECHOSS: Hopefully we won't somehow crash reality again, so long as there's no more rollbacks I should be here to stay.

IAWA: That’d be good. I wonder if my family suffered this rollback as well, or if it didn’t affect them because they were in a separate universe...
BOSHI: (If they did, they’d probably act the same way as if they hadn’t. It was mostly to get rid of the bottles, if I recall.)
IAWA: Hmm, so nothing would really change in their world if they went through the rollback?
[color=#ffd11a]ECHOSS: Judging from the general lack of knowledge of the event outside our own party, I think no one else remembers it. Probably for the best.
ECHOSS: Do any of you have any further questions for me?

IAWA: I’m afraid not, but your answers to the questions I had were quite good.
BOSHI: (Dunno what I’d ask that already hasn’t been asked. So nothing from me.)
CHLOE: Nothing from me.
CHLOE: Still kinda surprised with how powerful everyone actually is, though...

BOSHI: (I doubt everyone’s really that powerful… just a few of us.)
ECHOSS: Indeed, I am rather exceptional in that regard. Operating under less elevated context here on Sussui has been rather refreshing though.

Echoss turns to face Boshi.

ECHOSS: I believe you needed me and Master Brutishace for a discussion of your own Master Boshi?

Boshi gets up. His general body language suggests that it’s of serious concern to him.

BOSHI: (...Yes. If you have time, Brutishace, I want to ask you about something.)
BOSHI: (...Though I think it’d be best if we do this in a more private location. The ladies already have enough on their plate.)

CHLOE: ...So, should we leave?
NIA: Yeah. I’ll just sorta walk away and leave you to it!
NIA: …
NIA: The joke here is that I can’t.

CHLOE: R-Right.
CHLOE: So, I guess I’ll be seeing you guys, then…?

IAWA: Yeah, sure. Boshi, I’ll follow your lead.
BOSHI: (Great. Nice seeing you again, Nia.)

Echoss stands up and pockets the log he was sitting on.

ECHOSS: Likewise, thank you for your time ladies.
ECHOSS: Boshi, if you don't mind I believe I know what you wish to discuss and have some information in that regard. Would I be able to tag along?

BOSHI: (That’d be great. Thanks, Echoss.)
BOSHI: (I think the basement will do fine for our discussion. See you down there?)

IAWA: Sure, that works. It’s where I’m most comfortable, anyway.

Boshi heads down the spiral staircase, followed by Echoss and Iawa.
(Check darkside's post for the continuation)

All of my actions are in here because good grief that's a lot of words.
Resource Actions

While RP and conversation stuff is happening, Echoss begins working on helping with the house reconstruction effort.
He looks out into the night, and rustles come from various bushes and trees as his butterflies set themselves into motion. He makes his rounds around the house, checking over various areas and humming to himself as he realizes that most of the windows have been busted out, so he sends mini butterfly swarms into the various rooms where they coalesce into minigolems complete with glowy golden brooms and dustpans. The cleaning crew sweeps up the glass shards, and then the minigolems, once they have all of the shards collected, eat the dustpans. Having cleaned up the glass shards, they all shatter into butterflies once more and all gather up in the air a short distance away from the house. The massive roiling sphere of butterflies abruptly spits a glob of Iti guts washed off of the glass shards into an unusued patch of forest, and then descend down on a leveled off patch of street in the village where Echoss himself has sprinted over to.
He shakes his head, not enough glass shards left to remake the windows. He takes two or three pieces of cobblestone out of the inventory and with a clenched fist, crushes them into sandy powder that he distributes amongst the laid out glass shards. Then he grabs a handful of ashen crystals from the inventory and sets them down. But not down, he sets them down as if on a shelf, except they're hovering in the air. He slices his arm down and the ashen crystals shatter, unleashing a gout of flame on the glass shards and sand.
When the flames die down, several thick glass panes, perfect for the windows, lie on the cooling cobbles of the lane.
Echoss and his butterflies bring the glass panes back to the house, and after replacing and refinishing twisted and warped windowframes by shifting the wood back into place.

Nezira is looking at her notes on Xavier’s tech when suddenly one of the golden butterflies (they belong to Echoss, don't they?) flutters down and lands on her shoulder, before transforming into a small golden hologram of Echoss.

"Apologies Miss Nezira, but could I perhaps ask for some momentary assistance? I have not yet adjusted all of my own magics to use within the thymefield and require a bit of assistance with replacing the defensive wards on the windows that were destroyed in the fighting."

Sure! Just give me a second to finish up looking over these notes and I’ll be happy to help. Where do you want to start?

"It shouldn't take much, we just need to go around to all the windows and reapply the wards. If you wouldn't mind showing me how I could do the same so that I may do so in the future, that would be nice as well."

Absolutely... though all styles of magic are unique, so I wouldn’t count too strongly on just being able to replicate what I do unless you wanted to copy my entire system as well. You’ll need to figure things out yourself for your own system! Alright, I’ll be right over.

Nezira snaps her notebook shut, puts it in her pocket, and walks off to find Echoss, with the hologram pointing her to his actual location. Upon reaching Echoss down near the common room, the hologram transforms again and flutters away.

"Hello there Miss Nezira. You seem to be doing rather well."

Indeed! The expedition into the portal was... at once stressful and fun, and full of unanticipated twists and turns. It’s given me a fair amount of notes on Xavier’s technology to look over, at least... perhaps that’ll help whenever we catch up with him. And, of course, meeting Chloe’s mother was... a shock. Especially given she had combat gear on. I’m just happy we were able to defuse things... and that everyone came out safe, both in the battle and from the portal..

Echoss nods. "Indeed. That was quite the swarm we fended off. I'm glad everyone is safe… Anyways, yes. The windows." He gestures to the recently replaced window. "Properly replaced physically, just in need of the wards."

Nezira nods back. “Alright then, let’s see... Personally, I’ve always liked using my hands for things like this, or maybe a sufficiently subtle wand that I don’t have to hand right now. Something thin, sharp, and crystal... anyway, yes.” She leans in to the window and closes her eyes, blue magic starting to trail from her fingers as she traces a few arcane shapes on the windows. She muses as she does so, “Runes... something about them always appealed to me. Some say they help, some say they just look good and the real power is in mathematically-precise mana channeling diagrams, but sometimes isn’t looking good a power all in itself? Magic is based in belief, after all, or at least it often seems to be.” The magic sinks into the windows, infusing them slowly and strengthening their glass.

Echoss examines the runes as she marks them, and nods. "It would depend upon the system of magic the runes draw upon, I believe. The old voidic runelords' system was based upon language and enacting ideals at the very least, so appearance would very likely have been relevant there." He hums to himself, lightly tapping his chin, and then traces his finger through the air, a small trail of red shapes much like those Nezira traced on the window flickering for a second before fading. He grunts. "Hm, seems it will take me another round or two. I think I know some magic forms similar to what you're using here however, so it shouldn't take me long."

Nezira continues focusing on the infusion, moving on to the next window. This one, she just places a hand on and focuses, pulses of mana spreading out into the window slowly and coloring it a beautiful slowly-fading sapphire with each infusion of power. “It’s very nice that these windows are technically crystal... glass is silicon dioxide, after all, which is only a little bit removed from quartz. It’s less that there needs to be a rigid structure and more that it just needs to be a mineral, to count as crystal to this system of magic I prefer to use. Admittedly, glass is one of the worst types, since it’s highly processed and far from its mineral roots, but it still works. Crystal holds magic the best, so I can just infuse a few simple enchantments into here and make them self-sustaining... one to harden and strengthen, and another to gather in ambient mana and reinforce both of those enchantments.

Echoss nods, considering the window. "Glass does tend to be useful when gemstones or inherently magical crystals are not an option. It holds and refracts magic and light in a variety of ways depending on how its forged. I know a few fellows who have refined a technique to introduce mana impurities into glass to make it function with almost any relevant magic system. I'm almost ready, I think. One more window and I should be able to help out with finishing this up more quickly."

Nezira finishes up with enchanting the window she’s working on, and walks to the next one. “Indeed! I remember, back on my home world before I left, glass was really considered to be a material for cheap mages... but then again, crystal-growing technology was rather widespread by then, so almost everyone could afford something better. I remember it being used sometimes in large-scale projects where growing crystals large enough to use became prohibitively complicated... but nothing much other than that. I wonder how it was seen in the medieval times, when mining was still needed to produce anything usable... ah, but I digress. Magic is so interesting, really... there’s so many systems of it out there, almost one for every universe that has magic, or sometimes multiple per universe. I suspect studying the entirety of it would take so much more time than I could devote to it... but I find myself so tempted, at the same time, to just go and learn as much as I can about it, instead of anything else. Universes themselves have so much diversity to them, but magic, which you’d think would be unified, actually shows just as much diversity as well... it’s endlessly fascinating.” She blinks, and refocuses on enchanting her window, having seemingly lost her focus on the window for a second in favor of chatting about magic.

Echoss nods, and steps in, placing his hand on the frame and weaving some of his own magic in, helping her finish faster. "It really is fascinating. Though I myself find thaumic engineering an even more interesting subfield. Finding ways to play different magical systems off of each other and achieve results you could never reach with one of them alone is interesting, and those who dedicate their lives to it accomplish some truly remarkable feats."

Oh, yes! Personally, magical theory is my interest for sure... well, theory and making new things and spells based on that theory, I suppose. I’ve already experienced blending various magical systems into a new gestalt, for one... that’s the one I use, actually. My home world’s system, with one or two others that added new interesting perspectives on things. It sort of just evolved after I learned them, used them, and then naturally began incorporating twists from them into my spells.

Echoss smiles widely, and the two continue to talk as they go around the house, finishing the repair of the windows.

Finally, having handled the window repair, Echoss makes his way around to the trees out in front. A fair number of them are badly mangled, but a lot of them are only slightly damaged. For most of them, all it takes is a pair of his signature(?) minigolems sent around with a pair of hedge trimmers to cut off damaged branches and apply light magic prevent shock from setting in (trees can get shock sometimes, yes. Well, not proper shock like humans do but do too much damage to a tree at once and it dies from it.) It'll take a little bit more work to get them to look as nice as they did before, but for now they look presentable again and are mostly doing okay.
He then uses a bit of geomancy to pull the actually ruined trees out of the ground. This causes a bit more damage to the other nearby trees again, much to his consternation, but he decides he can deal with it but not until he has his butterflies airdrop in a few trees taken from the surrounding woods. A bit more trimming and minor woodmancy later, and the trees in front of the house are largely repaired. Probably won't win any gardening contests though.

He also takes the opportunity to plant a few manablooms in the plant pot just outside the house.

I/Echoss set about creating the grand tribute to my magnum opus within DTG: Chaos, the slingshot. But instead, it shall be greater, better, the ultimate furniture launching weapon. A trebuchet.
First thing's first I yoink the minifridge mortar out of the inventory and disintegrate it with eye lasers (yeah I'm pretty sure Echoss has nothing to do with it at this point) causing its very essence to waft up into the air in a fine mist, which I capture in a bottle I stole from Link once upon a time. Yes I know it looks exceedingly generic but any resemblences to a unique item received to bribe us into not ending the world with water bottles are purely coincidental. Trust me I'm not a doctor.
From there, I grab several of the temple bricks (for the counterweight), a bunch of megabark (only the finest of woods for the finest of siege engines), a bit of durasteel and some titanium to help make the various mechanisms, a bunch of the feather rope coils, and several throwlem crystals.
And so I launch into assembling the thing! Crafting the frame from the mighty megabark and shoring it up with durasteel for extra durability, wrapping up the temple bricks together into a special housing to allow its weight to launch things forwards and assembling the various winches cogs and (I don't actually know how to make a trebuchet HELP) placing the throwlem crystals along the very edge of the sling, causing it to launch things far and fast.
I stand back to admire my handiwork.
*the entire thing looks like a mess, and then collapses into a pile of rubble and disappointment when one of the Echoss butterflies lands on the grass next to it.*
...
Plan B! I take out the perfectly generic bottle I stored the essence of furniture launching in and smash it over the ruined wreckage, through the power of launching furniture and unique items instantly finishing crafts just by existing, it magically transforms into the perfect furniture launching trebuchet.
I'm a genius.

Furniture Flinger created! The Furniture Flinger is an 'ally', similar to how the tank or house defenses are. Except sorta different still. The Furniture Flinger also exists as a 'consumable' in the inventory, which is how it's placed (though doing so eats up your regular action and your movement.) in a battle. Upon being placed, it can be used (full action or bonus action, whichever Ire deems appropriate) to launch furniture at enemies with different results for different pieces of furniture. It can technically launch other things too, but they must be tied to (or riding in the case of allies) a piece of furniture that is being flung and doing so will likely decrease the range of the attack.
The Furniture Flinger is totally incapable of moving on its own, and movement effects only move it half distance, making it difficult to reposition once it's been put on the field. The only way for it to be reused elsewhere is for the battle to end, giving us time to put it away. It doesn't use percentage durability like other items do, instead having its health kept consistent across battles and breaking permanently if it is "downed", leaving a tile of rubble instead of a corpse and being unable to be revived in any way. Truly this majesty is a once in a lifetime thing.
(I request that if this assembly is successful I get to have Echoss write the bio entry for the Furniture Flinger in the codex monstrum)

Echoss may or may not wind up yoinking the 'live' exhibition. It's a liability and I've mostly been trying to come up with an excuse to pocket it since I grabbed it anyways.

Letsid to Marron: " You didn't like me using your Weapon~ ?"
She would wink if her eyes weren't squinted all the time.

Put skill point into SPC

Also replace the Ninja Hood with Rubyweave Cloak

Also replace the Nanomachine Aura (son) with Crimson Storm
and equip Cache Finder as extra Trinket

Letsid will now dodge even harder... unless it is unavoidable... lets pray a bit.

Emerald stabs upwards into the Amphi2
He doesn't even bother moving before promptly firing away at whatever his machine guns can hit, really.
Just for fun, he turns around, and promptly slams his umbrella back down into the Jotun, jabbing the sharp end into it's kneecap and shoving it through. That counts as stunning it, right?
