Crusher, I'd expect that they're mostly immune to those effects (as in, those instant attacks won't target bosses unless literally nothing is left on the field besides them) and I doubt more than one other enemy AT MOST will ever have that effect again. I also suspect Chara might wind up having an abnormally short lifespawn for a Gatekeeper, due to basically being the uber-boss equivalent of a glass cannon.

That's pretty much the entire point of the tournaments Ayaze takes part in as an NPC: the gimmick isn't actually stepping on the arrows, it's figuring out which arrows to step on and when.
And it only gets crazier from there. That's just the finale of the first tournament.
