For those of you who don't know, if this thing is signed, we're screwed beyond a doubt. This is hyper-mode SOPA. This is probably the closest equivalent to negative paradox numbers we'll see. Basically, the entire internet is going to get more copyright restricted, more expensive to keep our normal speeds, and more restricted, among a long, long list of non-Internet related things that could happen.
We might get taken out if this thing happens, and I fear we may get legal action against us as well.
I don't want to alarm you like this, but... this may be the last 41 days DTG can be played. In any case. Any website. Any scenario.
This shouldn't be possible, but it is, staring us right in the face.
Good luck, everyone. If we want to survive the true enemy of the series, we need to hang on to our hopes. This...abomination...threatens everything we stand for. There is no quarter for such acts. Either we save the internet or get killed trying.

The TPP does a lot of nasty stuff, though I feel like it passing and every single entertainment website/forum INSTANTLY self-destructing is an extreme worst-case scenario. Still, it has some serious flaws as-is.
Technically, petitions don't have any legal power. But it is a show of (un)popularity, so maybe it will do something. After all, the goal of Congress members is to get re-elected, not necessarily to make smart decisions.
This place isn't used for keeping track of the Alchemiter anymore. I mean, DTG2's over, and there's no need to catalogue the alchemies. They'll stay, but this thread's only purpose now is to discuss DTG, which is why I renamed it to The Forge: DTG Discussion Thread.
I'll probably return to DTG0 when it restarts on the 8th. So you guys don't have to worry about me being inactive forever. Although I'll likely switch to a different character who fits me better. While using a shadowmancing Earth/Shadow Colossus hell-bent on devouring every stone block in existence along with UserZero was fun at first, I don't think something like that would really be able to act like anything more than a mindless attacker, which isn't super fun to me. I came up with another idea for a character that can be more flexible in abilities while still fitting IC, and still have an actual personality.
I think DTG0 could potentially work out. When I read DTG2, there were a few reasons it seemed interesting and fun.
1.Comb Raves looked pretty fun to work for, for example Antibent
2.Most of the time with the exception of Hive Queen and the Vord it didn't look repetitive
3.Entities could make a big difference if people put in the effort for them(For example the UOSS dominated for a while with 100 posts charge, while the Perfect Sphere which I think was 50 posts to charge still made a big impact)
4.The art was engaging
5.this is a big one, TwinBuilder posted often and kept the pace up
While there are no Comb Raves as of now that's not really the biggest deal, people could make their own ultimate attacks by using multiple 50 post charges for example. It doesn't seem repetitive right now.
Honestly with 3 I would have to say I'm confused, since it seemed like Rugname, one of the biggest entities in a while just got oneshot like a scrub. I didn't really keep track of how much damage it pulled off so i guess I might be wrong there, but it does seem a little weird. Art isn't totally necessary since for example I have no idea how to do that, and good enough descriptions can replace the need for art.
This break might be a good thing so long as people come back. It offers something of a reset opportunity. Since it's possible when things slow down to have a downward spiral where say, the GM takes too long to post, but then when the GM is faster, people are not posting enough, so with the break so long as people come back at the same time it could avoid that. I sort of understand that problems can come up with being GM, but you really need to set time aside if you can.
I might join GS for my faction since it seems to have an interesting difficulty while not being ridiculous like Hostile or PZ, and has a chance of changing the outcome a bit(for example, if enough GS's appeared, Richard and UserZero could be forced to work together to survive). Although it would up the difficulty, as far as I know it would be pretty new, since I don't remember there being a Dual Boss Fight against two godmodders who worked as a team before.
@TwinBuilder:Just saw the shameless plug, well, that confirms some things I suspected in my Pie Quest post(that the gorilla was illuminati confirmed).
Honestly, the UOSS' main contribution was acting as a giant meatshield, while the Perfect Sphere did pretty much nothing. The Hyperstorm, however, will do very higher amounts of damage if it can be depoyed at maximal efficiency (problem is, it requires 4 charges to deploy at full power, and one team member is not participating, so an extra player on our team will make a ton of difference).
PS: If players did a massive charged attack, how many seperate 50-post charges would be needed for an attack powerful enough to be an automatic field wipe?
I guess I hadn't read enough to know that about the UOSS. I thought the Perfect Sphere was some kind of large barrier protecting everyone? I guess i must misremember how effective it was. Not sure what the hyperstorm is, but it sounds like you are talking about a coordinated high number of posts charge. Do you mean that four people are doing 50 post charges, and the one not participating is obviously not making progress on the charge? I can give you some of my assists but I'm not sure if that's what you need to do it.
The Perfect Sphere was basically a giant thing that was really hard to destroy, but unfortunately it didnt really do much, and its Anti-Godmodder field got bypassed.
With the whole 3 charges at once thing, and assists being free I guess I could possibly do that with Charge#3. But I think I'd want to check out what the hyperstorm is supposed to be when it appears. Instead of just searching through the thread for when it first started getting summoned I'll just PM you about it.
The GS Faction. Seriously, UserZero already committed a few mass genocides already, and Richard led to one as well (killing the Secret of the Void, which was the only thing with a chance at defeating him the first time). If you want to side with one of the entities capable of carrying out genocides easily, go right ahead though.
What site? I know it's late, but now I'm curious.

There's a difference between a hero and a champion. A champion overcomes threats, but a hero overcomes fears.

I'll be taking an indefinite break from both DTG0 and DTG Terraria, starting immediately.
I'll still be around MCF, the DTG Forums, and the Memo if you want to contact me.
It's a new year, ladies and gentlemen.

That's too bad then. But I'm still not sure exactly what kind of help you need on the Hyperstorm.
Really, I would need an extra guy doing a 50 post charge on the operation, as well as assisting the other people doing the charging.

I've already had one, but the problem is that it'll be ruined if I accidentally play it at the not true final boss!
Tazz! Is there a true final boss?
Hypothetically you should join AZ because of predestination, but honestly it doesn't really matter.
