Don't worry. I'll think of something... the Godmodder said that, didn't he? I'd estimate the chances of Pricy actually winning a game to be about 1 in 10 thousand or so, especially considering that radiation sickness + disaster prone + Komodo dragon bite + sabotaged + Vegas means that he takes an average of 24 damage per day and he only has 60 health. So, without either something buffing his stats or healing him, he can't live past day 3. MAYBE he could win if he has all the +100 stat events happen to him in a row, which is absurdly unlikely. And even then, he would still have a decent chance of losing.
Anyway... back to philosophy.
I believe we have a total of... 14 people with battle hardened. And I take back what I said earlier about deaths making you more sensitive. In truth, its probably a bell curve or something, with people like Wilson and (apparently) Tingle on the left rising side and people like Tricky on the very far right side. But what's disconcerting to me is that so many people romanticize that. It's probably just me though. I've stated before and it still holds true, Wilson is a more accurate portrayal of who I actually am than Talist is. I don't feel alright playing a character who sees no problem in hurting others, which is why I gave myself bleeding heart. If everything goes to plan, Willow will be the most violent character I've ever RPed as. But that's not saying much. If the company of DTG3 is similar to what we have now, she'll still be above average in terms of morality. Sure, not as high and mighty as Wilson, but still above average.
I don't call it 'romanticizing.' Death is an ugly, horrible thing, and I cannot begin to comprehend it on any level. It's as Eldritch and awful to me moreso than any Horrible Eldritch Abomination Erelye could ever hope to name, and no matter how bad Erelye tries to put them, it will continue to be so. There are two things, though: A, considering the vast scope and bloody nature of this fight, the most likely to keep fighting are the people who are somewhat desensitized, otherwise they'd be too freaked out by all the insane bloodshed; and B, no matter how morally ambiguous the heroes are in this case, they're still the heroes, mostly because the villains clearly aren't so morally ambiguous: The Godmodder, Binary, The Employer, they're all clear-cut villains with utterly despicable goals, and we DO have to take care of them before they cause (more) damage. Some things just ARE worth fighting for. They're rare, but they exist.

I did make the TIE-Hivemind, so I went for something totally different here because no-one was picking these. They are semi-arbitrary in that extent, but not TOTALLY. Being a hivemind, every TIE ever is part of it, thus it can do more. It technically IS made of Entities, thus it can meatshield with itself. As for the Jaws of Victory...Eh. Why not. This probably means that he'll die of walking on the sidewalk or something stupid, but eh.

As for the discussion of Battle Hardened, I would say that, having read far too much british satire in my days, my characters are intended partially as caricatures of military-industrial stereotypes, and certainly started that way. Though the over-romantic {In the sense Talist meant it, not hugs-and-kisses, amusing as that could be} mindset towards war is something a lot of people attracted to this sort of game seem to have, myself included to some degree, though having had relatives to give me usefully non-romanticized/not-LARGE HAM MILITARY HERO stories of the military certainly helped avoid that.
I'm sad now. I remembered an amazing idea a friend told me at school and I was making plans to implement it all day...
I get on the computer and see I missed my deadline by like 5 minutes.
And since I'm almost certain there is no way I will ever get to do it now, here it is.

I'm Christian (LDS more specifically, which gives me an even lighter perspective on death) and the idea of physical death has never held much form for me. Death isn't permanence. Sentience isn't something you can just... snuff out. That's an idea that just doesn't feel right to me.
On that note though, I have considered the ramifications of if your spirit could die in real life. That's something that scares me, I still don't think that would extinguish you as a person, but since there's no information on what comes after where we are now, there's not a whole lot about what the after-afterlife (if there is such a thing) would or could be like.
But even that doesn't scare me in and of itself.
Forgetting is what scares me. Forgetting who and what you are, and what you stand for. That's the ultimate form of death. Even if you still live, completely losing all sense of who you are is permanent. More permanent than death. The ideas of heaven I hear in some Christian ideals chill me when I think about them, the idea of forgetful bliss... Honestly, if I had a choice, I'd choose an eternity of torture, but still being able to remember what I was, how I got there, and so on, rather than go on, completely unaware that I once had hopes, dreams, and goals separate from what I once was.
Change doesn't scare me. I welcome change. Emptiness does. No eldritch abomination or being of oblivion could scare me more than the concept of being able to destroy a person.
On that note, the horrible thing that I feel comes with dying in DTG isn't the fact that you're dead, its what the Narrative does once you die. Instead of leaving you dead, to allow your friends and family to continue on while you wait in Limbo for something to happen, it remakes everything. Ripping your experiences and self out of where ever your afterlife is to put you in a universe-long groundhog day loop, only without anyone who remembers what happened last time.
Otherwise death would just be moving on. True, Limbo is a bit deadening, but at least you are still there. Progress is slowed, not removed. You're still you, and... yeah.

I had a huge thing typed up about my philosophy but it deleted itself. Aaagh. Basically I was hinging on cryonics, mind uploading, quantum immortality, or the chance that all the atoms that make up my consciousness eventually bumping into each other again. Then I said that if there is no afterlife then that's cool too. No suffering or anything. I was dead for 13.78 billion years and I didn't care.

Results
Proof is the winner with these stats...
71.0 strength, 64.0 dexterity, 11.5 intelligence, 107.60000000000001 entities, 70.9 alchemies. These roundoff errors are getting kinda annoying. I should probably do something to fix that. Like, round them. Epilog: Maybe it was the death of Tingle. Maybe it was a gift from the Godmodder, maybe he just felt like it, but Proof's rage was not satisfied. The blood of two tributes is not enough to quench the flames of rage. So, when the victor's ship came to pick up Proof, he ignored it and ran strait to the edge of the arena and punched a hole in the forcefield with his bare hands and then ran off. Several ships were sent to try and find them, but they were all found a few days later as twisted piles of metal. Until eventually, Proof was found dead in a field. Cause of Death: heart attack. He broke just one too many ships and it broke his heart. Literally.
Talist: Maybe you should just use int, it's not like they're going to overflow unless something goes horribly wrong...

Don't worry. I'll think of something... the Godmodder said that, didn't he? I'd estimate the chances of Pricy actually winning a game to be about 1 in 10 thousand or so, especially considering that radiation sickness + disaster prone + Komodo dragon bite + sabotaged + Vegas means that he takes an average of 24 damage per day and he only has 60 health. So, without either something buffing his stats or healing him, he can't live past day 3. MAYBE he could win if he has all the +100 stat events happen to him in a row, which is absurdly unlikely. And even then, he would still have a decent chance of losing.
Anyway... back to philosophy.
I believe we have a total of... 14 people with battle hardened. And I take back what I said earlier about deaths making you more sensitive. In truth, its probably a bell curve or something, with people like Wilson and (apparently) Tingle on the left rising side and people like Tricky on the very far right side. But what's disconcerting to me is that so many people romanticize that. It's probably just me though. I've stated before and it still holds true, Wilson is a more accurate portrayal of who I actually am than Talist is. I don't feel alright playing a character who sees no problem in hurting others, which is why I gave myself bleeding heart. If everything goes to plan, Willow will be the most violent character I've ever RPed as. But that's not saying much. If the company of DTG3 is similar to what we have now, she'll still be above average in terms of morality. Sure, not as high and mighty as Wilson, but still above average.

I don't call it 'romanticizing.' Death is an ugly, horrible thing, and I cannot begin to comprehend it on any level. It's as Eldritch and awful to me moreso than any Horrible Eldritch Abomination Erelye could ever hope to name, and no matter how bad Erelye tries to put them, it will continue to be so. There are two things, though: A, considering the vast scope and bloody nature of this fight, the most likely to keep fighting are the people who are somewhat desensitized, otherwise they'd be too freaked out by all the insane bloodshed; and B, no matter how morally ambiguous the heroes are in this case, they're still the heroes, mostly because the villains clearly aren't so morally ambiguous: The Godmodder, Binary, The Employer, they're all clear-cut villains with utterly despicable goals, and we DO have to take care of them before they cause (more) damage. Some things just ARE worth fighting for. They're rare, but they exist.

I did make the TIE-Hivemind, so I went for something totally different here because no-one was picking these. They are semi-arbitrary in that extent, but not TOTALLY. Being a hivemind, every TIE ever is part of it, thus it can do more. It technically IS made of Entities, thus it can meatshield with itself. As for the Jaws of Victory...Eh. Why not. This probably means that he'll die of walking on the sidewalk or something stupid, but eh.

As for the discussion of Battle Hardened, I would say that, having read far too much british satire in my days, my characters are intended partially as caricatures of military-industrial stereotypes, and certainly started that way. Though the over-romantic {In the sense Talist meant it, not hugs-and-kisses, amusing as that could be} mindset towards war is something a lot of people attracted to this sort of game seem to have, myself included to some degree, though having had relatives to give me usefully non-romanticized/not-LARGE HAM MILITARY HERO stories of the military certainly helped avoid that.

I'm Christian (LDS more specifically, which gives me an even lighter perspective on death) and the idea of physical death has never held much form for me. Death isn't permanence. Sentience isn't something you can just... snuff out. That's an idea that just doesn't feel right to me.
On that note though, I have considered the ramifications of if your spirit could die in real life. That's something that scares me, I still don't think that would extinguish you as a person, but since there's no information on what comes after where we are now, there's not a whole lot about what the after-afterlife (if there is such a thing) would or could be like.
But even that doesn't scare me in and of itself.
Forgetting is what scares me. Forgetting who and what you are, and what you stand for. That's the ultimate form of death. Even if you still live, completely losing all sense of who you are is permanent. More permanent than death. The ideas of heaven I hear in some Christian ideals chill me when I think about them, the idea of forgetful bliss... Honestly, if I had a choice, I'd choose an eternity of torture, but still being able to remember what I was, how I got there, and so on, rather than go on, completely unaware that I once had hopes, dreams, and goals separate from what I once was.
Change doesn't scare me. I welcome change. Emptiness does. No eldritch abomination or being of oblivion could scare me more than the concept of being able to destroy a person.
On that note, the horrible thing that I feel comes with dying in DTG isn't the fact that you're dead, its what the Narrative does once you die. Instead of leaving you dead, to allow your friends and family to continue on while you wait in Limbo for something to happen, it remakes everything. Ripping your experiences and self out of where ever your afterlife is to put you in a universe-long groundhog day loop, only without anyone who remembers what happened last time.
Otherwise death would just be moving on. True, Limbo is a bit deadening, but at least you are still there. Progress is slowed, not removed. You're still you, and... yeah.

71.0 strength, 64.0 dexterity, 11.5 intelligence, 107.60000000000001 entities, 70.9 alchemies. These roundoff errors are getting kinda annoying. I should probably do something to fix that. Like, round them. Epilog: Maybe it was the death of Tingle. Maybe it was a gift from the Godmodder, maybe he just felt like it, but Proof's rage was not satisfied. The blood of two tributes is not enough to quench the flames of rage. So, when the victor's ship came to pick up Proof, he ignored it and ran strait to the edge of the arena and punched a hole in the forcefield with his bare hands and then ran off. Several ships were sent to try and find them, but they were all found a few days later as twisted piles of metal. Until eventually, Proof was found dead in a field. Cause of Death: heart attack. He broke just one too many ships and it broke his heart. Literally.
