Perhaps it might do to make the opposition unique. You know, special attacks, mechanics, abilities, resistances, inflicting debilitating potion effects, et cetera. That might be fun. Not only the designing, but the playing against it. Is this a good idea?

@tazz: I wrote that post at 5 in the morning, and I haven't been sleeping well. It was a bit melodramatic, but I stand by my statement. I'm not going to put up with that BS. In no uncertain terms, that one action just effectively ruined any semblence of plot.
First: the godmodder has been reduced to not being important at all. Act 2 can be chalked up to a slight shift around due to the godmodder being caught off guard, that sometimes happens, Act 3 was Binary and a few others getting in lucky shots, and the vord was... not as well planned as it could have been. My fault entirely since it was mostly me doing the planning, with twin putting in input as to whether or not it was okay, but that's aside the point.
Its freaking destroy the GODMODDER. And putting SCRATCH, not even an original character, but one that understanding his motives requires intimate knowledge of a completely different series at a higher rank than the godmodder? That's just tossed the entire premise of the franchise out the window. Additionally, since I'm pretty sure everybody else has figured this out by now because twin's all but said it, the final fight is almost certainly going to be versus the Psi-Godmodder (and if not, then wow. Just wow.) And this event effectively ruins all opportunity to impress us with following events in any way short of giving us an ACTUAL game over.
Second: This entire thing is driven by twin completely forgetting that we have a say in the plot. Despite promising everyone during Scratch's Manor that once that thing ended we'd be free to pursue our own interests and change the plot with our actions, he has done nothing of the sort. Despite some minor freedom of choice near the beginning of Act 3, has anyone else noticed the tightening choke-hold? I mean, to some extent its fine, I mean, I got a little angry at the 'NOPE' of the Arrival (which was also patently absurd in them being able to curbstomp us in any fashion, as demonstrated by us, slightly worn out from the MBoA as we were, trashing them immediately after that particular cutscene) but I put up with it as it wasn't really important.
But its gotten worse. He's pulling a DM of the Rings, and this has turned into a non-interactive cutscene. It was fine still though, because he let us get through with our side plots, and his own visions for the rest of the game weren't blocking off what we were trying to do, and he wasn't being too overt about railroading us, I mean, he let us summon our bosses, do our side-quests and everything.
And then engie and amp's issues on Earth happened. I don't think I have seen worse rail roading in a game I've participated in. Thinly veiled, poorly executed, and completely ignoring the characters in question and their capabilities, all in the name of making sure the cutscene he had in his head played out exactly as he planned it. And I doubt he's even drawn up any images or actual text for it yet.
I didn't say anything because engie, amp and even net didn't. Not my place to complain if the victims are fine with it. But this single, blatant act of unfairness not only removes an facade of having any say in where the plot goes, but just clumsily and awkwardly ended every single side-plot, preventing us from even making plans for DTG3.
All of this made even worse because he was doing a good job up until the Arrival. It was still bearable. Not nearly enough to complain about (but I was cringing on the inside once or twice) but this is just... No. I don't want twin to ruin everything good he did during almost everything before now. It is almost physically painful.
@erelye: Yes, I think some of that was planned. I'm sort of trying to do that in my session, but due to sleep quality problems, I've been pretty tired, and as such I'm having enough of a hard time balancing things (as tazz pointed out) so I haven't been able to properly come up with good gimmicks.
Anyway, I'm going to try and cut back on the rants now. I've vented most of it.
I don't feel particularly inclined to apologize for any of this though.

It does annoy me that the Godmodder now seems non-existant. But, I kinda like the TRIALS. It's a fun alternative, and really leads up to the final battle!

GIVE UP THE PAST, EMBRACE THE STRANGE

Nah, I don't have any trouble with the idea of the trials, and the first two were really good, and its my fault that the third wasn't. Its the specific thing in this one that's made me mad.
Ive been MIA for quite a while, someone care to give me a quick rundown of noteworthy events since i left? (Just some while after we killed the first vord queen i think?)
Why did i leave? Well... simple. I was forced to play as AG despite it going totally against my character, and the whole vord thing was just... repetive. urn this burn that for weeks. Meh.
THERE WAS A DAGGER AND EVERYONE GOT SUPER PISSED AND NOW EVERYONE IS EVEN MORE mildly irritated BECAUSE OF DOCTOR SCRATCH.
It's endgame territory. We're on the final stretch. Right now, Doc Scratch just hijacked the plot and Total Party Killed everything. Now we have to fight a gatekeeper in limbo to nullify some of his power, except everyone's incredibly mad with ninjatwist. He tried to give the godmodder an item that would give him healing (the endgame gave him actual godmode, by the way) even though Twin said it wouldn't work. Long story short, he's dead ten times over now.
OK, Granger in short, I'd give the most recent posts as of the last battlefield update a good read-over, as there's no other way to put what happened, other than the Vord are now very dead. Really, that's all I can say, for all else has been said already, except Ninjatwist actually died eleven times over. Anything else would be spoilers, and I can't really speak about it without some level of bias. I'd form your own opinions of what comes next.
Also, I would give it a page before rejoining, and Twin's not posting tonight, before you make up your mind on this. As of right now, everyone has the same goals again due to the turn of events (though that's liable to change).
MAKE SURE YOU READ THE STORYPOST, FOLLOWED BY THE PAGES AFTER . IT. ALL OF THOSE ARE IMPORTANT. That should cover it a bit more.

[Client thread/INFO] [Natura]: TConstruct, we're going to take over the world!
[Client thread/INFO] [inpure|core]: Beating Minecraft's resource loading system with a shovel. Please stand by...
[Client thread/INFO] [MagicBees]: Replacing stupid-block with 'Here, have some delicious textures' ItemBlock. This is 100% normal.
You feeling better twin? I hope what we (I) said didn't make you feel too cruddy.
The reason I didn't post yesterday was because while I was quoting the posts, I looked closely at Talist's goodbye message. He said that this Trial "reduced him to IRL tears." I couldn't post after reading that. I had to stop and think if what I was doing was really worth it.
I am feeling better now, thankfully. I'm going to try and get this Trial off to a good start.
