Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I scored 100% on the Minecraft Trivia Quiz. How much do you know about Minecraft? TOPICS I MAKE, Y U NO STAY ALIVE?
I usually check the Forum Games section as a whole after I've posted to see how the subforum is going. I see the vast multitude of posts DTG2 has racked up, and the exponentially greater amount of views. I see Destroy the Tower, Fortress Defenders 2, sometimes a stray MSPFA or two. And sometimes, randomly, I go and think, "Really?"
Because I see Destroy the Godmodder "updated" again. Seriously! I was wondering why people didn't let a good thread just get its rest. Yes, I saw the "sayonara" posts people made with long-winded paragraphs, and I saw the fake minigames people put in there. But really, it's not like you guys didn't have anything to do. You had this thread. I know others thought this way too. I figured TT2000 did. What I didn't know is that he would act on it.
When I checked the Forum Games section today, I saw Destroy the Godmodder on there. A split second later, my heart sank as I saw the red criss-cross that denotes a locked topic. My heart sank. Channeling my inner Heavy, I thought, "How could this happen?!" But then I looked and saw that TT himself had declared the topic closed, and that a moderator had locked it shortly after. After I let my anger and sadness subside, I realized it was for the best. Now the thread would be preserved for all time.
I was an avid follower of the first thread. On my first time seeing it, I thought it was wacky, hilarious, and fun to play. It was fun to watch. I dreamed of participating. I saw Talist, summoning behemoths like the Relic and the Book. I saw Adrenaline Rush, whose attacks too often missed. I saw engie_ninja, with his randomized attacks, and OpelSpeedster, with his fruitless attempts to bribe those damned Space Pirates back to his side.
I wanted to be one of them.
I got my chance. I played the game. But I didn't expect to be in these shoes right now, steering not a thread, but a legend. A story. An actual yarn that was constantly spinning itself. And that's why we're all here right now, I guess.
I'd like to think I was an important player of the game. I had Far Land powers; those were cool. I joined right as the Mystery Gate was cracked opened by the insane Mad_Scientist. It was a nice start point for a new player, the sidequest. Obviously I didn't make it to the end, and nearly didn't make it past the middle, when Crusher48 kicked me down a pit. A few months later, he kicked the Godmodder into space. And that's why we're all here right now, I guess.
I had the Fez. I caused the Glitch, which caused Zero Hour inadvertently. I had three Cool Swords. And yet, as the thread drew to a close, I began to wonder. What would happen when it was gone? I loved the game; I wanted it to continue. But, I realized, I wanted a little more. I wanted to take the game into my own hands. So, I did what I felt I had to do. And that's why we're all here right now, I guess.
Look, the point here is for me to try to do something that everyone on the old thread failed to do: Give the old thread a funeral. So, consider this the speech a guy makes about the dead guy. Consider the thread being locked the coffin descending into the ground. Consider all the views the thread gets from now on as people looking at the gravestone. But, know this. The thread may be dead.
But this one isn't. And that's what I wanted. For the thread to live on. Can we call it that anymore, though? A thread? I don't think that really cuts it anymore. It was from September 1st, 2013 onwards, in my shoes, that the thread got a TV Tropes page. A wiki. A supplemental thread that was actually required. Potential Flashes. So, it's not really just a thread when it stretches out of the Forums it came from. It's something more.
And I know some of you are thinking the same thing I thought. Even though this thread is nowhere near done, I bet some of you already have ideas for Destroy the Godmodder 3: What-Have-You. To that, I say this: There will definitely be a sequel to my thread. It's only a matter of time. The legend will continue until people are tired of it, no sooner. At least, that's what I think. So, you guys can just skip through this if you want. But I wanted to pay my respects.
I wanted to commemorate the thread that made me get a Minecraft Forums account in the first place. And that's why we're all here right now.
Well, the problem is... the maximum amount of charges an entity can take is 40, unless it's a really special entity (e.g. Demonator). So this entity (It's one entity, not 2, correct?) would take 1000/3 ~=~ 333 days, almost a full YEAR! By then, a new game has maybe already started, or something like that.
The 1000 post charge is really just to prove my point. It isn't 1 entity. It's really 25 40 charge entities. There is nothing to stop me from doing that. And btw: I can charge it at 2 per post but if I trade charges with someone that goes up to 5. So 1000/15 = 66 and 2/3 days. It would take 2 months, but it's possible.
The Void Rift appears! Its attack power will be lowered a bit, but not by much.
Actually, if he had done a 1/160 charge for all 4 Horsemen, their HP and attack power would be much higher than they would be right now.
my point is that doing a 40 post charge 4 times is the same as doing 1 160 charge post that summons them all at once, which is against the rules. That's my point in 1 sentence without an essay explaining exactly how and why it is over powered.
Entities cannot attack twice per turn.
Oh, entities work differently than last game. I assume that means I can attack and command an entity at the same time?
You can only charge 2 big charges, not 3. You also can't string together 5 small charges and turn it into 1 big charge.
But but but... Don't you see? That's exactly what the horsemen were! They were 4 small charges unleashed as though they were 1 big charge!
The Void Rift doesn't have any energy yet!
In DTG1 the entity would attack as soon as it was commanded, not in the end of turn battle. Things have changed I suppose.
That last TL;DR is actually a rule to prevent what you described from happening in the first place.
That was badly worded. What I meant was that you should not be able to hold on to several entities and release them all at once.
and lastly...
You have exceeded your post count!
Whoops, I should have known that when my proof of point entity got to 4. I suppose not having an update yesterday threw me off.

Plagiarist. And to defend myself I point out that the code will fail to compile because when you copy and pasted it into there you forgot to remove the HP:. Little things like that mess up the entire program.

Also, +3 to any AG who wants it
Edit- I posted this right before you posted Twin, and Godmodder! You almost gave me a heart attack! I thought for a bit you said this thread got closed and I was confused why I could still post.
I never went on the original thread after I left 3/4 of the way through. But I will always remember it. I tried making my own spinoff on a server's forum, but there weren't enough players on the server to keep it going...

One problem. And that is that that four 40-Post Charges are NOT the same as one 160-Post Charge. Reason: CHARGES DON'T GROW IN A LINEAR FASHION. I'm pretty sure they don't grow exponentially, either. They have their own, slightly illogical but still valid system.

POST III; POST COUNT AT QUOTA. 31/40 Bill Cipher. Development: 24/34. Part 2/3. Raspberry Pi: 8/10 Magical Tubas made of Ferropper: (4/4) ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノing a ~=[,,_,,]:3. (3/6) I alchamize Magical Tubas made of Ferropper with Nogalistic Void Powder to make Nogalistic Ferropper Void Magical Tubas. These tubas can fire void-empowered magic projectiles, lightning, fire, ice, mini tubas, and null cubes, dealing some damage, but cannot be controlled or activated in any way without a computer being alchamized into it. The tubas can also be alchamized with the taglock of a very powerful being to make the damage of the things it shoots uber powerful and damaging. The Tubas also can be alchamized with special mushrooms to somehow make it shoot infinite of its shootable things without reloading, 1/6. INVENTORY: Godmodder's Taglock, Mycelium.
Badass Longcoat of Buffing 3/? Technically an alchemization. Anyway, this is how it works (if Twin will let it through). This is a passive alchemy that is imbuded with the power of 3 passive effects; healing, giving a passive healing, damage resistance, reducing the damage of attacks to the wearer, and night vision, in this case, counters any accuracy debuffs. The coat also has a plethora of active abilities, of which, the wearer may choose 1 per turn. There are, Manpower, makes the next attack a mega crit (200% if I'm right). Invisibility; will not take damage this turn (only available with a 2 turn cooldown to prevent abuse). Rejuvenation; makes all attacks mini crit for the turn and allows user to attack thrice. Firepower; gives the user firebending powers. Waterpower; gives the user water ending powers.
Only players and self-summons can use it, and I have to give it to them. Should the equipped entity die, the coat returns to my possession.
I burn Matchsticks with the Green Sun Annihilator.

Hook 'n Bait AND Entropy Ingot = Chaos's Sinker (2/6)
Chaos? what does Chaos have to do with Entropy? Entropy is the absence of energy and imagination, of drive and ambition, whereas Chaos is energy and madness, random action and unpredictability!
I join Twin's memorial, as I, too, have felt a sense of respect for the old DTG, for though I, myself, am a newcomer even to this, the second thread in the "destroy the Godmodder" theme, I am one who has always loved a good story, and even have made a few attempts at one of my own, though they have never been made available... Requistat In Pace, DTG1.
I pause in my incessant bombardment of enemies and creation of robotic armies to hold a moment of silence for a story.
this time of meditation and peace has given me a few good ideas...
Even if it isn't linear, 4 40 charge entities is still the same as some entity charge that is greater than 40. I thought the point of the charge cap was to prevent people from summoning massive entities and dominating the board.
Now, let me post my next entity idea... (I'm not sure if this is going to fall within the game's rules)
Wilson is a fox bred to be able to brew potions. It took centuries of breeding plus some magic. His home was destroyed in the first godmodding war. He is the only survivor and he seeks to put his abilities to use.
Meta-game note: the reason why Wilson is a fox is because I originally wanted to use the wolf armor I'm making for, you know, a wolf. However, I had this idea for an entity that can brew potions and I figured the armor would kinda fit a fox and foxes are kind of clever.
Wilson is capable of brewing potions like a normal player. He is not a fighter. My plan is that he opens a potion shop. Also, Wilson is not AG or PG, but rather PE (pro-everyone, peaceful or simply N). He doesn't fight, he simply sells potions. SoyoureallyshouldntattackWilsonpleaseIwanthimtoliveplusfoxesarecute!
Wilson will brew potions and put them for sale at a price I choose. Any player can buy from the store (unless Wilson has a grudge against them for some reason). How players pay is with wealth. Wealth is basically bottled up assists. So therefor, instead of assisting another player, a buyer can pay Wilson up to 3 wealth per post. Once the potion has been paid for, the buyer is free to take it and use it however they want.
1 wealth point can be used to assist the charge of any player I choose by 1. Another use of wealth is to fund Wilson's passive ability, ransom. When Wilson is damaged, he can choose to lose wealth rather than HP. 1 wealth negates up to 2,500 damage. (The wealth does NOT go to the attacker. I don't want to encourage robbery).
Wilson: 12/40
Another entity:5/40
The fatal flaw: 3/6
I command the void rift to use another bolt of nothingness of Calamity.
I suppose I better be attacking stuff if nether charging nor commanding uses that...
I get a small rock. I drill out this inside of the rock and fill it with explosives. After sticking a fuse on it and lighting it I throw my grenade at Calamity.
+3 to anyone who can tell me where I got the name Wilson from.

The Tubas also can be alchamized with special mushrooms to somehow make it shoot infinite of its shootable things without reloading, 1/6.

Mysterious alchemy 3/5
+3 to piono. Boooost meeee! I'll give you +X
X is whatever you give me.
Some wars are pointless. This one's just for fun.
Chaos? what does Chaos have to do with Entropy?

Somehow, I ended up GM-ing this thing over at Bay12;

Just think happy thoughts.
Meta-game note: the reason why Wilson is a fox is because I originally wanted to use the wolf armor I'm making for, you know, a wolf. However, I had this idea for an entity that can brew potions and I figured the armor would kinda fit a fox and foxes are kind of clever.
There's a difference between a hero and a champion. A champion overcomes threats, but a hero overcomes fears.

Then there's also a Youtube channel I'm somewhat involved in.
