You move NORTH, and go through the tunnel before you, eventually climbing up a ladder and finding yourself in what little seats remain in an arena, probably used as sport by the four groups you saw fighting just then. There are some weapons here, too worn by time to be useful; you count a RAPIER, a LONGBOW, a GUN, and two SPELLBOOKS. You could probably fix them up if you had the time and resources.

...Looking around, it seems to be an extension of the crossroads you just came out of, allowing access to most other factions. You can just barely make out a FOREST in the distance, which may or may not be worth investigating if you can find a way to it. Or blow stuff up to make one yourself, assuming you don't cause property damage and get an entire team after you.

You move WEST, and are greeted with a whole lot of things on fire. The entire place is either in cinders or in the process, assuming it's not on fire just to be show-y. There's still a little remain of a tavern, though; some of the Fire Soldiers are there, attempting to get a drink. You could try talking to them if you want, or continue into the area.

Grabbing a THERMOMETER, you put it down below the fire... you get the resulting temperature of "Hella Hot". This tells you nothing, but you shouldn't be blatantly touching it anyway; that might hurt.

You loot the RAPIER, LONGBOW, GUN, and SPELLBOOKS, and consider if you should attempt upgrading them.

You move NORTH, and come across what evidently is an attempt at an armory. It's a small "fort" made out of what looks like molten rock, cooled down enough that you could probably enter it without getting hurt. There are quite a few people in there, so you shouldn't attempt to charge in; hell, you probably shouldn't attack period unprovoked. That's how you get a GAME OVER and become hated by the party.
