JOE looks at the glyph bag for a moment or two, and grins. looks like it worked! now then, its been a couple of turns, so I think I can return to HOLEquest.
JOE jumps into the hole, glyph bag strapped to waist, and lands on the mimic. as it opens its "mouth" in surprise, I backflip off, and skid to a stop, reaching into the bag and almost pulling out a glyph, before realizing that All of these glyphs might damage something within the mimic, if it has anything in it, so instead I toss an air glyph at the gold dweevil, pushing it into the mimic, and then the wall. the collision with the mimic hopefully kills the mimic, without destroying anything still intact within it. excess damage hits gold dweevil, as it did just slam into a wall.

Meanwhile...
JOE appears in the makeshift shack's vicinity, and unsheaths the magical knife he uses/used to make (the) glyphs, before starting to saw away at each tree. normally this would be hard, but the knife is magic!
once he chops down a tree, generic telekinisis floats it away, where another clone me stands ready to rip apart the sentry on the tree for parts, then send it all into our inventory. as such, i collect both wood and wire bits or other mechanical things.

Meanwhile...
another JOE clone harvests the axe tree and splits the axes into the wood part and the metal part, before handing them all to the temmies making a village, as those temmies need both wood and metal.
yet another JOE clone goes to a not-so-massive-hole-in-the-ground and takes the wire bits, which head to the inventory, and then goes to The Cliffs, checks if the floor is stone, and if it is, uses a few earth glyphs to pull large chunks up in a staircase-like pattern. since there are gold veins here, some gold might come up too. this JOEclone then meditates, restoring the earth glyphs, and uses it again, until he's gotten as much as cobble and gold as can be expected from this line of actions. he then gives the temmies all the cobble, but not gold, and all the wood from the sentry-trees.

Emerald grabs the corpse of the Mythril Dweevil and starts beating the Gold Dweevil with it

More crafting will probably come soon if I can mythril

ALRIGHT CRAFTING MORE SHIT
ALRIGHT CRAFTING MORE SHIT

Materials Used: Si'Griut x1, Mythril x1

Alright, this is going to be a relatively simple crafting.

Emerald discovers that somehow, using Mythril in a weapon inherently makes it better, no matter how said Mythril is used, or where the Mythril is, what the weapon is made of, et cetera. Due to this, he can use it to somehow improve a weapon that's literally made of glass. So he does this, using the force the power of his mind to temporarily dissemble Si'Griut back into it's base components, melt down the Mythril, coat the original Glass Dagger in said Mythril, cool it, then reassemble the knife back into it's stabby teleporting glory, now with Mythril.

STAT CHANGES:
Now scales with both STR and AGI fully. That's it

"Oop, sorry, wasn't aware I was doing that."

And right away, the electric shocks cease. That was remarkably quick. Well, not remarkably, given it took time for Oppy to become aware that he was even accidentally zapping Chloe to begin with. He now looks very awkward, unable to meet her gaze for a few seconds, then gradually managing to ease back into normalcy. He seems to be thinking about something for a moment...

"I'll do what I can. What I can do... might surprise you, heh. And, yes, I do have a plan involving your special. It involves mine too. Heh..."

There's a pause.

"I pretty recently changed mine. Now, it's sort of more of a fusion between myself and one other person, rather than being just me spraying electricity everywhere and smacking things more. On top of the power that your special offers, as I'm sure you remember... well. I feel like we'd be damn near unstoppable together. Although, come to think of it, it'd be a shame if it were mistimed, so it'd be preferable to figure out some way of saying when to go for it. Erm, that is, if you're okay with it to start with. I say fusion, it's more like just me turning into powered armor..."

...

"...Speaking of armor. If you've got an idea of how to improve your armor, now might be the time to do that, heh. I'll help with whatever you might want me to help with, especially since we're a bit short on time by now..."

Dark takes some time to look over the Camera Drone report himself in seclusion, and, like he always does, begins thinking aloud. "...Hm... always wondered what it would be like to have a sibling... makes me sad I had to grow up alone just by looking through this."

He continues mulling over it, but now it seems he's got up and started walking around, not really paying much attention to his surroundings. "Mph, going through these extremes just for someone you care about... not willing to let go, and let them pass naturally... is that dangerous thinking? Hard to say. Doesn't change the fact that the Butterfly's a gorillahole, though."

Though at one point, something catches his interest; "...Necromancy... huh. Didn't even cross my mind to even attempt it... but then again, that seems to have ended poorly... worth considering, I suppose. Maybe it'll lead to me actually being able to do rituals like that instead of just doing what I know."

He takes some time to stand still and reflect; for some reason he's around the MW Anti now. "...Perhaps we aren't that different after all, in some regards. Heh." Then he realizes where he ended up, thanks to the smell of Marron's baking. "...oh. Smells amazing around here." He walks in after packing up the report.

---

"So, what's the occ-... oh, what happened? Toast's unconscious... hang on."
Dark kneels down on the floor next to Toast, and closes his eyes, left arm extended. In what feels like only a second, he speaks; "...okay. Got it."
He stands back up. "She'll be fine, just needs some bed rest. She's just exhausted from running around and doing things, time-related or otherwise. She'll be awake soon."

"...Well, unless there's anything you want one of us to upgrade or something, Marron or Ette, you two should be ready to head up to the top of the mountain." And, unless they do want something upgraded, he heads out.

---HOLEQUEST---

The Mimic, unfortunately for it, seems to have run into a mild case of death. But what does this death I speak of? Well, a dental operation on every one of its teeth involving a heavy set of pliers, a pipe wench, and the Mimic's throat-analogue; a teensy (re: 20 gallons) dosage of concentrated hydrochloric acid and cyanide mixture; a bucket of raw ghost peppers stuffed with gunpowder and a match; and having its mouth slammed shut, opened- then slammed shut again, 900 times in rapid succession. The result should be a puddle of whatever.

Berg finishes reading the report, and focuses in prayer.

If what this tale tells is true, Ymir be with us all. Clad us in your coldest frost, First-Father, that we may see the end of this journey...

I ask if anyone would care to take my blessing of cold (i.e. Frost Armor) for the battle(s) to come.

what if you have like 100 DGE and you're standing behind a lamppost
The lamppost takes the hit for you, and dies.
does the lamppost just become magnetic
Yes. Yes it does.
also, overkill damage to the thing won't harm the things hiding behind it
so being next to cover terrain can't ever really be worse then not standing next to one

Hezetor read the report on entropy and is clearly not pleased.

"This is almost an insult, "Entropy is... truly impossible to understand and pin down", "Entropy is both a means of creation, and a means of destruction." you are either talking about something else entirely, or never even looked at how the phenomena works in the universe, because from my opservation, entropy still works as expected, I don't see ice forming out of thin air without reason and I don't see oxygen not occupying the whole volume of the atmosphere without reason."

"And, Xavier, you ask what the real you is doing, how the real you is planning to do his business and all of that. Don't ask me, before I ran my baseline observations here I didn't even knew you existed, or I knew you existed, but I didn't even knew how you looked, consider that when we met you knew my name and not vice versa. When I first run my observations on this universe I didn't notice you at all, and all you ever created where probably too small, two bigger things caught my eye that time."

Then Hezetor meets the butterfly in his 3D image, his Immunity (Fear Effects) makes its job and he barely raises a eyebrow as response, the Chaos Butterfly tries to look at the soul of Hezetor, but quickly finds that this fake body doesn't have any. Why would anyone put one in a fork?
Besides, after checking Xavier and seeing that the thing he is looking at is clearly not a female figure, he prepares a teleporting spell ready to launch in case something goes wrong, regardless he tries to commute with the Butterfly. changing the way the spell works, not even bothering adding image from the point where the Butterfly is, as it is already seeing by itself

"Salutations, I'm Hezetor, Storm King. Let me tell you that someone is going to visit you soon enough.I guess it is only polite to say it openly, even if you already knew it."

Hezetor says politely and slowly.

"Besides, I only recently had the pleasure to see what you did to Marron, you have a good definition of "fun times"."

He concludes with an almost delighted tone.

DCCCV was silent for a moment. Turning around, but not meeting the case of Nia, he responded, his voice regretful.

"I know."

"I wish I could promise you that, but I can't."

"I don't know whether I will die or not."

"But there is one thing I can say with certainty."

"I'm going to fix this."

"I'm sorry."

Roxxanne grabs the appointed singular cookie from Marron. "Thanks," Roxxanne says before stuffing it into her mouth.

"...I hope Toast wakes up soon... I can, maybe, no, wait, I can't... We don't have time. We don't. We've gotta head up North, soon. Very soon." Roxxanne says. "...Ugh, this has been utterly restless. A few weeks with no sleep and very little rest-it might be the mindscape but I'm surprised how much we've managed and how well we've held up..."

Toast shifts on the couch, roused by the combination of cookies, people and carrying. They are a dull grey-green, opposed to their brilliant emerald. She props herself up on her elbows, and glances at the people gathered here. She doesn't look very lively, but at least she's awake. "Did I fall asleep or something? What's everyone doing here?"

There's a pause as she takes a bite from the cookie on her head. At this point, Alt enters, having followed the commotion from the Clearing. "Yo."
"Yo."
"You were always too restless for your own good. And by you, I mean me. Or both of us. I don't know timeline grammar. I went through this before in my timeline. If you rest and eat some cookies, you'll be fine. Don't overexert yourself, and no time travelling."

Toast nods, and finishes the cookie in her hand.

"Wait, hang on. What about the future me running around? I don't mind paradoxes, but I would feel bad if that instance of me ceased to exist."
"Well, I don't see why it has to be you..."
"What?
"Just trust me, I'll handle it. Save your strength for when we go NORTH."

Alt leaves the way she came, but not before taking a cookie.

"...I think she has this under control."

Toast sighs in a dazed or bewildered sort of way, and runs a hand through her own hair, which had already lost whatever sense of neatness it had previously. bluh This turns out to be a mistake, as a jagged crystal gets caught, and she has to yank it out. "Ow, gorilla."

She also takes another cookie.

~~

Meanwhile, outside the MW...
Alt wills her hair, eye and crystal colour to change to an emerald green, as opposed to the brown-orange she's used to. It would seem that her hair is still to long, though, so she takes a shard of crystal and roughly slices it off at shoulder length. Now that she looks the part, Alt heads into the past, where she meets up with Emerald and begins Holequest.

--HOLEQUEST: THE LAST FRONTIER--
Mabuz, still gripping on to his paradoxical state of nearly dead and full of a newfound strength (at least, in THE HOLE), decides to finish off the Gold Dweevil. Flexing his right hand, ancient bones clattered along the ground. The Gold Dweevil found a small pile of bones gathering beneath it. With a clench of his fist, Mabuz filled the pile with dark energies. Suddenly, the pile materialized into a fist that rose from the floor, smashing the poor bug into the ceiling.

Auth swiftly splits into three, two Spectres and he real one. A spectre dashes over to support Omo. Another heads to Zone 3. The real Auth swiftly heads to Zone 4 and to the MW Antidisestablishmentarianism.

uA: Toast! How are you faring?

Auth rushes inside after Toast wakes up. It seems dividing took longer than he thought.

uA: Everyone was worried about you after you collapsed.

Auth lightly shudders as Roxxy mentions needing to go North.

uA: I understand it's vital but why did if have to be that way? I know seeking has no effect here but I can't help but feel ominous from nothing that comes that way.

Auth sighs, before asking Toast if she needs anything. before they head North.

Simultaneously, in Zone 3...

Auth arrives in an area he hasn't had purpose to be in before. Swiftly, he creates more of himself. Legitimately fast this time.

Also to do:

Comb the Splinter Drift for Spruce.
Care for Omo.

<TURN TWO-HUNDRED AND SIXTY-EIGHT>
And now, we go North.

JOE heads to the Makeshift Shack in Zone 1, and then proceeds to cut down a whole ton of trees. This manages to not set off the railguns, thankfully. JOE ends up hauling out 150 logs, for a grand total of 600 Wooden Planks. JOE then grabs the aforementioned railguns, hauling away 50 Wire Bits, 12 Titanium, and 9 Circuit Boards. JOE then hands off 100 Wooden Planks and 20 Metal worth of axes to the Temmie Village. Another clone of his loots some wire bits out of a hole, obtaining 25 of them. It then appears that there's no gold at the Cliffs, and that what he saw was an old artifact of the description for the zone. The Operative then says something about fusion to Chloe. There's a surprising lack of blushing, awkwardness, and horrible misunderstandings.

ga: So you just become somebody's personal armor suit? That sounds... dangerous.
ga: But I know that you'll be careful so...
ga: Sure! Let's do it, and smash in Zetta's dumb face!

She then considers working on her armor... then suddenly decides against it.

ga: Actually... I think that I'd need to get permission to use the mythril that I'd need to upgrade, and by the time I ask, we'll be incredibly short on time...
ga: I think I'm well off anyway.

She smacks her breastplate with her right arm. There's a satisfying, metallic clunking noise. A bit like hitting the lid of a trashcan.

ga: My armor's yet to fail me!
ga: Seriously, it kept me safe when I got spiked by Mari that time back...
ga: I'll be fine.

Elsewhere, at the MW Anti, Darkside mentions something about heading up to the peak to Marron and Ette.

tc: ...I'm not leaving without Toast!
tc: Hopefully she's just exhausted, and not horribly injured or something.
tc: Hey, do you think killing her would cause her to revive, thus fixing her injuri-

Ette slaps Marron across the back of the head, then mimics a giggle. Before Marron can retaliate, Ette signs something to her.

tc: Hm, I guess it'd pay to pack before we head up...
tc: After all, the moment Chaos, Zetta, and the Butterfly are dead, I'm leaving this hellhole.
tc: ...is there anything I'd want to pack? Really, I hardly have anything I'd call valuable...
tc: I can't just stuff Toast and sis into a suitcase, so... I think I'm good for packing, actually.
tc: I'll just stop by my house and pack clothing or something once Toast comes around.

Berg then performs a prayer... and somehow obtains the Blessing status effect for five turns. It's not a pre-casted Frost Armor, but it'll probably do. Mari then expresses offense at Hezetor's analysis of her own (well, technically they're hers) notes.

ut: Wha-
ut: Well, why don't you give me an essay on entropy, smartgorilla?
ut: Three hundred words. Due tomorrow.

Hezetor then tries to address the Butterfly... and gets completely ignored. Somebody else responds, though.

aa: ...i did what t<0> wh<0>?
aa: i-i'm s<0>rry!?

The clearly distorted female voice at the other end sounds flustered. DCCCV then talks with Nia... but it seems she's having a hard time telling who's voice is who's.

aa: y-y<0>u're sorry?
aa: i-i'm c<0>nfused ) :
aa: e-everything... is... melding.

Suddenly, within the MW Anti, Toast comes to. Marron immediately seizes Toast into a hug, with Ette joining in as well.

tc: Y-You're okay!
tc: Thank god... I was actually pretty worried there...
tc: ...I-I totally knew you'd be alright, though!

Then, Alt walks in, Marron sits and watches as the two toasters have a conversation about timelines and the proper thing to do.

tc: Anyway.
tc: Now that I know you're alright...
tc: Ette! Watch Toast for me while I go and pack my stuff!
tc: I'll see you two at the summit, alright?

Marron, after hugging Toast one more time, bolts out of the Anti, presumably to her house...

<HOLEQUEST: COMPLETE!>
JOE returns to the hole, and applies an Air Glyph to the Mimic. It slams into a wall, taking (7) damage. Emerald then lifts up the corpse of the very-dead Mythril Dweevil, and uses it as a bludgeon against the Gold Dweevil. This deals (6) damage, and the Mythril Dweevil's body falls apart. Darkside then dentists the Mimic to death, leaving a puddle of Mimic on the ground. Within the puddle is 3 Titanite Chunks, and 2 Gold. Darkside loots the items. Mabuz then smashes the Gold Dweevil, turning it into a stain on the ceiling. 3 Gold falls from above. With that, all the foes in the hole are dead!

...There's a tunnel leading deeper! Mabuz heads down... and finds an AGI Orb, and an INT Orb! He pockets them, before telling everyone that the hole's gone dry. Wordlessly, everyone leaves the hole... but not before giving the rights to the Holequest anime to the Temmies, ensuring that their exploits in the hole will be immortalized forever, in twelve three-minute episodes. Truly, it'll be a better anime than Inferno Cop.

<BATTLE?: THE SUMMIT, TURN ZERO>
...A loudspeaker booms over the Mindscape.

cc: hello (t)his is your ©haos speaking
cc: i've had (t)his (t)able ready for our ©onversa(t)ion for like a(t) least fif(t)y (t)urns
cc: now, ge(t) over here!

...Down by Zone 1, people begin to mobilize.

ga: A-Ah!
ga: I guess that's our cue, isn't it?
ga: I'll see you there, Op!

As Chloe walks the road to Zone 4, she grabs Mari.

ut: W-Whoa, I'm not done with the Goddess Hand-
ga: Your drone's doing all the work. I'm sure you can leave it there.
ut: Fineee.

...Some of you surely follow, of course. Through the portal to Zone 4. Up through the molten crags of the Ascent. Through the chilled heights of that area Near the Summit. The crystal gate of the aptly-named Final Gate area, where Chairitomb still lies. The monster-lined hall of the Final Hallway, where Marron decided to wait for the party. Up just beyond there is the Summit. The end.

PLAY TRACK: Bravely Default - Dark Aurora

ga: T-This is it, isn't it? The journey's end...
tc: Y-Yeah. Salvation. Freedom.
ut: Exit, egress- yeah, we get it. It's an escape.
ut: Shall we give our friend Chaos a visit?

Mari powers herself up, electrical energy crackling around her arms. Chloe readies the Sunmade, hands tightly gripping the fearsome sword. Marron cocks her rifle. Weapons ablaze, everyone rushes up the final staircase leading up to the Summit of Nightmare Mountain. Once at the top... everyone realizes how oddly peaceful it is. The wind, unobstructed by trees or anything at all really, howls through the air. Only a few pillars- some standing, some fallen and cracked, line the grounds. Not too far from your position is the Dreamer. A circular looking machine, with buttons that seem to circle its entirety. It's trademark beam of light surges into the skies, seemingly piercing it. Speaking of the skies, the dome that makes up the sky is so close now... it almost feels like that if you reached out far enough, you could rip the clouds directly from the skies.

In front of the Dreamer sits Chaos. Across from him is a simple wooden table, with a cup of tea upon it. Another chair sits idly across from that, vacant. With no immediate threats visible, everyone lowers their weapons, either in disappointment or confusion. Chaos takes a sip of tea, then speaks.

cc: sup.
cc: i have... more (t)han a few ques(t)ions for you all.
cc: so.
cc: wel©ome (t)o (t)he summi(t)! pre(t)(t)y ni©e pla©e, amiri(t)e?

cc: bu(t) (t)ha(t)'s besides (t)he poin(t).

...There's a brief silence while Chaos chooses his words.

cc: i'm ©onfused.

cc: i ©an'(t) even begin (t)o reason your de©isions righ(t) now

cc: and for wha(t)? wha(t) gain? wha(t) purpose?
cc: wha(t) did you hope (t)o gain ou(t) of (t)his?

Chaos stops smiling. His face is more neutral than happy, menacing, or sad. He just looks... lost.

cc: i'm ©onfused.
cc: so (t)ell me.
cc: wha(t) did you hope (t)o gain?
cc: did under(t)ale make you all sof(t) or some(t)hing?
cc: please. (t)ell me.

One of you shows a sign of hesitation. It's obviously a trap, isn't it? Why wouldn't it be a trap.

cc: boi
cc: i'm unarmed.
cc: i've dropped my hp (t)o 1, and unins(t)alled my pa(t)(t)ern
cc: a©©ording (t)o gmbs laws, i ©an'(t) a(t)(t)a©k, and i don'(t) have any passives (t)o bs ou(t) of (t)his
cc: so please.
cc: (t)rust me for a momen(t). i wan(t) (t)o know. i need (t)o know.

...There's only silence. Chaos doesn't make a move. It's up to you now as to what to do. Whatever you do decide to do; attack or not, majority will win out. Decide what you think is right. Give him an explanation for your behavior, remain silent... or attack while he's open. It's your choice. Talk it over. Or don't. Just maybe prepare for what'll be happening after this turn, mercy or not.

the northerners (or just norse if you don't have much time) are exploring. they go north, from the north, to the northern north. they find two types of land, and they name them accordingly.
[pranked]
they also invade some other places and get called many names, such as vikings.
there's the rus. the kieven rus! are they vikings? I don't think so, said the kieven rus. ok, fair enough
/nullorplaceorjoke-holder

I spawn on G13, move to 9G. then I either say "well i wasn't here for most of this stuff, but i'm guessing its a combination of undertale and people not bothering to kill anyone who's harmless.", then use a celestial glyph to raise my special to 36...
or spontaneously throw an opin glyph at chaos, because everyone loves a good deathboss caused by a single players choice! /s

Op nods to Chloe, seeming quite happy with the agreed-upon plan of action, then gets up and calmly heads all the way up from zone 1 to the site of the final battle. The End, to put it simply. Once he's gotten there, he spawns in, moves to K11, then takes a look at Chaos.

"...Hmm... Where to begin."

There's a pause. If one listens closely, they might be able to hear a sort of... electric instrument version of But The Earth Refused To Die, albeit with a different melody.

"I'll be the first to admit. Descendant morality is very odd, seemingly going from taking nothing seriously no matter the consequences, up to refusing a chance to kill an otherwise-sworn enemy. But if you look closely at how people change, you might notice a pattern. The longer we stay in one given location, the more we interact with the world around us, the more we understand what it all means... the more careful we become. It's not perfect, and it's not a full change, but in this particular instance, there are certain factors that helped out quite a bit."

He gestures to Chloe.

"As you said, we probably could have struck down Chloe the moment we discovered what her true importance to the mindscape was, and what the effects would be on you. But when we first found her, or rather, one of our own did, she wasn't a threat. There was no reason to kill her. So, you know. Descendants don't tend to kill things that pose utterly no harm to them at all, with some exceptions for exceptionally stupid or sociopathic descendants. And there's one little quirk about descendants in general... That is, somebody who meets the criteria of being not harmful to the descendants and willing to hang out with them for pretty much any time at all almost always will be safe with them."

Beat.

"I say almost always because let's face it some descendants are complete bloody morons."

After he's admitted that, Oppy just shrugs.

"But, yes, I'm quite sure that meeting Chloe had a lot to do with the improved sense of not killing everything in the path for virtually every one of the originals still here. I say originals, because as other people are about to explain, not all of us were the first selection of people you ended up pulling into this place. As you're no doubt aware, you originally got someone other than me caught in here, that being some orange guy with a rifle, and I was sent in to retrieve that guy. I can't even remember how long it took me to find a likely location he'd ended up at, but I remember meeting up with the rest of the party at roughly the time those scale reapers began to appear. Funny, I still wasn't able to find him, even then..."

There's a pause.

"I'm sure he'll be able to find his own way out soon enough. Maybe you might be able to help find him, get him out of here and all that. He doesn't have the same oddity I do, so he can't just be forcibly revived and then be fine. After that, I'm... not sure what I'll do. I'm a bit conflicted about something."

Oppy turns around a little. He seems to be gazing off into the mindscape. There's a long pause.

"It's your mindscape, so I kinda can't do so without figuring out a few details, but I don't actually feel like leaving. Don't worry too much about what would happen to the real world myself, I crunched the metaphorical numbers and it's most likely I'd just be resurrected out there and the body would restart from the last point when I was actually in it, basically meaning that me not returning to my body is about as concerning as me dying. For the record, that's not very concerning at all. Even out there, I've never stayed dead."

...Oh, also, using static shield on self. Just in case.

Dimitri spawns at J13, and breathes in.
"BOI.
We have either all watched or been in godmodding wars, and trust me, they ain't pretty.
Sure, it seems fun at first, but once gorilla stops being just a game, that stops, abruptly.
But someone has to do it. And the universe isn't ever going to be perfect. It just won't. But that's okay.
*ahem* Shadow Roxxanne *ahem*
The point is, anything is possible. Even slowing all that down. Even stopping crazy Ire. It's the current. gorillaing. Year.
Plus, I got to make this really cool rifle. So yeah, that's cool.

----
Dimitri then moves four spaces up, and drops a Divine Shield on... Chaos. Remember the penultimate Neutral fight from Undertale?
"And we have bigger fish to fry.
And those fish can POP.
And they're coming right here.
Speaking of Undertale, RUN."

Chlorin spawns at I13 and points his gun at Chaos and then at the Table.

I will listen to you as long as you don't attack. If you do, I will shoot you in the face.
Also I don't kill people unless they're visibly hostile or I am ordered to. That is my justification. I do not do genocide.
Why I'm pointing this gun at you? Because the last time I spared someone in a fight I got blasted to bits by their colleagues!

Auth sighs, collating himself and walking up the Summit. With the snow, then the magma, Auth takes care as they scale the stairs up to the highest point of the Mindscape. They are met by Chaos, seated. He spawns on K13.

uA: So. We're here. You, Chaos, and the rest of us. I can't fault your design choices, honestly.

Auth doesn't put Inkscalibur away, as he had never got it out. He stands quietly as a Chaos asks his first question.

uA: Sir Chaos, I don't see what is so confusing about our actions. I guess the simplest answer to your question would be "We didn't want to hurt you". I can not speak for everybody, and I cannot pretend to, however. I suspect that many of us would agree with me when we say that all we wanted was to leave. I personally don't care that you held us here, I wouldn't have met quite a few of my friends that I made had you not. Perhaps we were worried about the implications of our "prison" were we to mindlessly slaughter everything. Perhaps some of us were tired of fighting. Whatever the reason, many of us have participated in a godmodding war extremely recently, if my sense of time is right. Just a matter of days ago.

Auth shakes his head.

uA: Regardless, I doubt any of us wish to do you any lasting harm, if any at all. I certainly don't. Perhaps it was the least logical step to befriend a memory core. Perhaps. Or maybe it was the most logical? Corralling forces native to the land, it seems reasonable to me. I think that we're reasonable on that. And even if we have spared many people, we've also hurt and killed several others. Including, if I have heard correctly, our own. We needlessly brainwashed and killed Ayaze. We brutally murdered Redstone. We, and I am ashamed to have taken part of this, turned Ms. Elem's house into... more of a ruin than it already was, and then took away her dignity by contorting her body into a woman's. I am ashamed of myself for not having stood up to stop it.

uA: I volunteer that we took this opportunity, perhaps, to demonstrate the mercy that we have the capacity to confer, but not the opportunity to during that time of strife. Now, what we have here is a unique opportunity. We do not wish harm upon you, we only wish to leave. And to that extent, I doubt I could do that with a clear conscious were we to slay you here. For any of you who wish the demise of Chaos, I implore you to stay your hands! Further violence is definitely not the way, and even still we have another enemy to prepare ourselves for! So, turns yourselves to preparations, for the Chaos Butterfly should be here presently! With its downfall, the end of our quest for freedom is marked!

Auth swings his hand up to the sky, causing his coat to billow in the wind. Auth's blue eyes dart around the sky, keeping an eye out for the signs of an entropic behemoth.

uA: Fear not! For our resolve in the face of this adversity will surely be rewarded! We will win, so stay the course!

His pale eyes turn to look at the party, before finally drawing Inkscalibur, though he doesn't point it at Chaos, instead preparing it for a blast of ink to buff everyone he can.

Or, at least, that was the intention. Hey Auth, do some more heartfelt speaking, because Roxxanne just proved your point.

uA: And Roxxanne proves my theorem. I may not know what she has done in her past, but I care not when it comes to it. I agree with her, when she says that her wish is to stop reality's knack for violence. For destroying quite probably itself and everything contained within. Because that's where we head if we don't stop.

uA: Being able to turn one mind, just one away from it, like we possibly could here... why would we surrender this chance? I would certainly rather leave here without taking another life. Even if, in the end, it is totally meaningless because we're not even here and nobody is here and it's just memories and representations thereof.

Auth subconsciously places his hand on Roxxanne's shoulder, in an attempt to comfort her.

uA: Hey Roxxanne? You okay after that?

He says quietly to her.

uA: I heard you say a couple of things in that little speech of yours. It's prompted me to tell you something, then. Take it how you will, but I feel this is important enough to say.

Auth takes a deep breath.

uA: I don't think you're a waste of oxygen, Roxxanne. Not in the slightest. Perhaps it's because of my own lack of perspective, I readily admit I don't know much about your past, but it doesn't bother me. Whatever you've done... I strongly believe that you want to make up for it. Whatever you've done, I believe you are still a good person. The only waste of oxygen here, Roxxanne, is the person talking to you, though that may just be my own bias entering the conversation. Speaking personally, you...

uA: Well, it's a question of what you DIDN'T do to pick me up. You gave me that Crossbow, oh-not-so-long-ago-but-it-kinda-feels-like-it. You really didn't need to. Really, you didn't. And, still, you did. You've done a lot for me, giving me this cloak and the weapons just before I upgraded them. And, maybe I'm just being a little assumptive, but... you were my friend, before I was even able to talk to anyone else, really. What can I say for what you've done for me, personally? You're like a ray of sunshine, a benevolent, guiding light, which has been cast over my heart which has been clouded in dark for... ages, probably.

uA: Now, consider all you've done for me, and then... consider how far you've been? How many places you've gone? You say that you want to make the world a better place? You've done so much for me over two days, how much could you have done over however-long you've been alive!? I'm certain that, beyond everything, for all the people you've hurt in your past, with the resolve I've seen in you, you've helped, or saved, or brightened the life of at least ten! Don't say that you're a waste of oxygen, Roxxanne. Don't say anything like that. Leave it to the people who actually are, like me! Leave that sort of talk to those people who aren't in a solid state of mind, because that sort of thing is objectively wrong when it comes to you, okay?

A slight insight into Auth's mind, I guess. It's a dark and cold place, apparently. There's probably cracks and fractures, strains and breaks everywhere. There's likely a lot of trauma Auth is repressing and then blaming himself for. Oh well.

They say that there's no rest for the wicked, until they close their eyes for good.

As someone wicked, fundamentally, I disagree. One may always repent. I may have done terrible things in the past. That's why I help this coward now.

A not-so-lone foxgirl stares down at the sight before her. The end of what had been her journey... and nothing resisting. Nothing's pointed at her, nothing looks concealed, no bosses primed to come out of the woodwork so far...

The lack of astonishing things is astonishing.

"Strange. After all that's happened, and after all you've done to deliberately stop us from reaching this point... here you are, abandoning the formula, trying to actually talk.
I never would've expected this to be our resolution. In that case... let me tell you something."

Lyra takes a deep breath, and sighs.

"I... I don't want to make a terrible mistake like I have before, under... bandwagoning perspectives, and cause something I'd regret. So..."

Lyra, spawning in at I13, moves to I8 and leans on the table beside her.

"I don't want you to make mistakes like I have. Considering the things that have been here, and what we've had to deal with, I think we can both agree that things you'd regret would have some rather negative effects."

...Lyra's extending her hand out to Chaos? What are you doing?

"No matter what happens, no matter who wins, and even if this speech does nothing to sway you to just let us go unharmed... promise me you won't make a choice you'll regret in the future. Okay?"

Strangely enough, this actually feels like...

* Lyra is attempting to SPARE you?

But what do I really know? You'll interpret it differently to me anyway.
