Roxxanne will spawn at L13, rush to L7, punch the Coder twice and back off to M10. Temmie Roxxanne will copy Roxxanne's actions but with her end movement at J9 instead.

Notmary will spawn at G13 and Kinetic Strike Module the Thymehand there. It can't retreat so there. The Scale Serpent will spawn at E13 and bite the Thymehand without moving. The Temmie Hero will spawn at F13 and use its triple Tempunch to try to kill The Thymehand if it exists, not move and use Spinning Flakes on the spot to heal up anyone nearby, and then move to G12 (or G11 if the Thymehand still lives because ZoC trolololo). The Scale Serpent will, after recieving Temflakes, move up north as far as possible.

@Everyone: A polite reminder that you simply cannot stand within the cardinals or diagonals of either boss, as they have beam-like moves that do a lot of damage.

Okay, how about we take a look at the opponents? They already seem to be rather... well, similar to a few of our allies. First off, there's the matter of how we can't see what is most certainly a death trap disguised as an entity, with rather good mobility, especially considering we have no clear indicator on where it is right now when the given criteria is ambiguous. I also have problems with how the Coder's own line-based attack does not include any specifications on where it starts, especially when it has a Range of 10, which is unusual for a beam attack to have and downright redundant, considering the standard dimensions of this room are 11x11. With how the Duelist is able to effectively dash twice, I recommend staying away from the "back-lines" of the Spawn, lest you get attacked by the Blade Swirl. I also recommend our ranged users, or high retreat folks, to attack the Coder to avoid being hit by Valkyrie's Grace.

With this said, I shall deal with the left side; I have faith that the combined efforts of Chlorin and Jon can take down the hand by themselves, and...

I spawn at E13 and move to E10 if able, and use the fan to melt the door at D9, creating a pile of Rubble in its place. I have faith that nothing deadly or hostile is behind it, and to be honest, I don't even expect much to even be behind it; if it is, then I can just wall it back up again, right?

Battle action: Oppy spawns into the battle against the duo at G13, then walks over to E9 to inspect the door while chowing down on a Salmon On A Stick to heal himself up a bit. After he's gotten there, he pauses, as though it only just clicked that he's in a battle against two very specific things. Slowly, he turns to face each of them, turning his attention side to side, focusing first on the Coder. It seems he might be suspecting there to be something familiar about them... then, bit by bit, he turns his head to look at the Duelist. A second passes. He bows his head a little.

"...This is exactly what I didn't want to have happen."

He seems... regretful. His attention slowly returns to the Duelist. He seems to be having trouble maintaining his gaze on her. That's new.

"I can wager a guess at who you are. You, the Duelist, are the Chloe Elem of this world. And the Coder over there, who I assume you're working with, would be the Xavier Elem of this world. Would I be correct in my guess? If so..."

...Oppy falters. Then, he slowly takes his currently-drawn katana and slowly sheathes it. Finally, he can look directly at the Duelist. What he has to say might be something of a shock, given his track record. Or maybe not, given what conclusion he's drawing.

"...I'm not attacking. But don't let that stop you from attacking me, if you feel you have to. I'm aware you... might not have much attachment to me. We never met before, did we... heh..."

Oppy just bows his head sadly again. He seems ashamed, almost. One hand goes to the door, and he turns to face it now, slowly opening the door to see what he might find. He knows he's in exactly the right place for a potential charge from The Duelist to slam right into him. He doesn't even care. Maybe he sees his destruction as something he could take more easily than having to fight a Chloe Elem, even if this one isn't the one he knows. Then, softly. He speaks once more.

"...If you can even understand what I'm saying, heh. At least this won't all have gone to waste. But... ugh... For what it's worth, I'm sorry we're on opposing sides. Unless you're willing to sheathe your sword and change that problem for the better, but forgive me if I don't exactly have high hopes for that happening. Heh... Do it, then. Kill me, if you're able to do that. I'd be happier that way than if it were the other way around."




Out of battle actions: Oppy merely watches with some degree of amusement when the conversation between Chloe and Mari takes place, as though he finds it a little amusing regarding what happened. Still, there was the twitch of a man almost ready to intervene from his sword arm when he saw the jab that Mari administered to Chloe. He's gotten better, perhaps, but there's still something there. After Mari's left, Oppy briefly snickers, then turns to Chloe.

"Yeah. I do, admittedly, want to test that. It's mostly a curiosity thing at this point. But... hmm. It's also a very awkward subject matter to bring up in a casual conversation, so I'll be honest, I was kinda hoping you'd be able to handle most of the talking in that regard. I've never had the best way of talking to people... And there's the problem of her currently being busy with other matters. I really don't want to walk in on her in the middle of showering, if that's what she genuinely went off to do. Cause, ya know. That's just even more awkward."

He glances around for a moment. Then, he sort of... leans over to lie down beside her. Seems he's a bit exhausted, somehow.

"...Maybe I'll just let that one sit for a while longer. Like I said, awkward subject matter... There anything ya can think of for us to do that isn't talk further about that?"

Emerald eats a STR Orb and an INT Orb, increasing his Gluttony stat by 2... along with his other stats, of course. His Gluttony then drops by 1 as his body rejects the STR Orb, given that he's already topped off STR. Toast meanwhile, keeps digging down towards the Mythril. As she descends into the eater, the sound of worms- or something like that, anyway- fills the air. Be cautious, maybe? Alt then asks Ette about the Crimson Crate.

ct: (Yep! I found it!)
ct: (It was really heavy, but somehow the rod didn't snap in two!)
ct: (I'll give you the honors of opening it!)

To save time, Alt immediately goes to open the crate. She finds 1 Gold, 13 Iron, and a Crimson Rod! The Operative then continues talking with Chloe, asking about something not totally awkward to talk about.

ga: Eh, if you really want, I can try and talk her into it...?
ga: You'll totally owe me one, though. Or at least a kiss. Hehehe...
ga: But, what to talk about...?

She thinks for a moment.

ga: O-Oh! If I recall correctly, there was a person called "Techpiece" or something like that before you came to the Mindscape.
ga: Do you know him? He was... interesting.
ga: I just had this feeling you might know about him.
ga: A-And... Uh...

Mari returns through the Zone Portal, hair still soaking wet. Little bits of sparking water drop off her body, creating a deadly electric puddle in her wake as she walks. She turns, huffs, and plants herself on a log bench.

ut: Hey, I'm back.

She begins to blabber on about her shower, really not talking to anyone in particular.

ut: Taking a shower was... interesting.
ut: I almost burnt down the house and I certainly fried what was left of the power grid, but other than that, things went pretty well.
ut: Now I need a new hairdryer. Or at least, an outlet. Speaking of that-

Mari then catches Chloe awkwardly looking at her, taking note of her luminescent blush. The scientist trails off, leading Chloe to realize exactly what she was doing.

ut: ...Got something to say?
ut: Or are you captivated by my new form...?

The swordswoman awkwardly stutters and stammers in reply.

ga: ...U-Uh.
ga: Y-You see, I w-wanted to ask you... erm...

She breaks eye contact with her and whispers something into the Operative's ear.

Battle: Oppy pauses for a few seconds. He tilts his head. He seems about to say something, but stops himself, then starts again. Eventually, since the Duelist responded to his earlier speech, he decides to chat further with her.

"I... couldn't hear you say anything, awfully sorry. If you meant to say anything, could you try again? Or maybe write it down on something... The terminal seems like it could help here, but as you can see, there's not many good places for me to stand near there, and I don't really see many ways to help you get over there right now that don't involve charging through your own allies... well, aside from Valkyrie's Grace, but I'm slightly scared you might crit me with that. My armor is strong, yeah, but I can't take that much damage all at once."

There's a pause.

"Actually... there might be a way. Two, in fact. You could charge north, then push off from the wall to go southeast. Or you could charge east, and push off north or northwest. That'd put you in walking distance of the terminal, either way, and without having to charge over someone on the same side as you. That's assuming you want to head to the terminal and type things up for me to read..."

Oppy seems a little nervous. He moves to E6, standing there and waiting to see what happens. Of course, if it looks like the Duelist is about to charge off in a direction that isn't one of the suggested ones he offered to her, he decides to give her a little damage incentive and proceeds to head to F6 instead, inviting her to charge though him if it'd make her happy.


Out of battle: Let's get this sorted out.

Oppy just grins and nods at Chloe.

"I'll admit it, I'd be quite happy if you took over talking for me. Mostly because I can only take so much embarrassment..."

She then mentions Techpiece. Oppy blinks.

"Now that you mention it, he's the reason why I was sent in here. I'd heard he got lost, so I was requested to find him and get him out of here at the earliest possible convenience, mostly because it's quite irksome for a sniper with True Sight to go missing, since he's so useful just for that power alone. Let alone wielding sniper rifles as big as some artillery cannons..."

Cue interruption by Mari. Oppy turns to face her, smiling faintly when he sees that she's evidently had some problems with the nature of being electric-themed and trying to take a shower. Then, once she starts speaking about things, he just waits for her to finish, turning to Chloe again when the attention is directed at her. After he's heard Chloe whisper to him for a bit, he sighs.

[small][small][small]"Fine, I'll say something to her. I might need you to help cover if I screw up, though."[/small][/small][/small]

Then, he turns back to Mari. He suddenly looks very awkward.

"Well, that's awfully convenient that you feel the urge to find an outlet. Considering the hobbies you happened to have before... well, heh, we know darn well what happened, I'm guessing there's something very specific in mind that you tend to use as a method to de-stress yourself. Heh, things just seem to be lining up almost too well..."

Beat.

"I don't want to make this sound weird, but maybe you could use me as an outlet in some form or another. You certainly have more than enough reasons to do so, heh. We've certainly had more than our fair share of exchanged dislike between each other, mostly from me to you if I think about it really hard, as well as the threats I vaguely remember making... I'll be honest, I ended up dropping the hatred almost completely after we all eventually ended up on the same team and I wasn't clouded by anger and overprotectiveness and all that. But I suspect I've caused some lingering feelings of anger in you for what I said."

Oppy suddenly smiles. It's a little dissonant.

"At this point, I can barely imagine what you might want to do in revenge, heh... But even then, that's hard for me to really pin down, ain't it. But, here's the thing. The last time I decided to put myself on the line to help someone else calm down, it resulted in Marron basically tearing me into shreds with a scythe, and then I was dead. That wasn't very nice to go through. So, ya know, if you're picking up what I'm putting down, if you do decide to take revenge or something on me or use me as an outlet, could ya just... not kill me? I'm not exactly fearing for my life by any means, but it's uncomfortable."

He decides not to mention the part where Chloe said that Mari would probably be the most willing to help Oppy discover what he wanted to know, and the one least likely to kill him while doing so... Maybe Chloe could cover that for him, if she wanted.
