Teag, do you have anything better to do than just waste about uselessly on this thread and *not* participate in battles with all of that sweet loot? If it's because your build isn't working out for this kind of battle, have you considered that it might just be that the build isn't going to be working out *period?*

If I may, I think the reason your build, Teag, isn't nearly as strong as it could be is because of your spell pool. Turn() and Ice Pillar aren't exactly the strongest with your build. And, to be honest, Turn() truly is just a super situational Melody that you can only use on yourself and is way too expensive to properly use. Ice Pillar doesn't see much use either since there's no real benefit to them other than maybe a turn or two of survival, since they act like walls. But that doesn't mean that the Builder build isn't bad. Far from it.

If I were you, I would actually replace Turn() and Ice Pillar with Totem (You get the best buffs for it) and Melody (To really make your sentry and other players unstoppable). Sentry's phenomenal with your high MP pool (only beaten by Insert) (Which can be increased further with equipment upgrades) and INT. Guardian's already a good pick in order to buff up allies (and your buildings if you wish). The other two spells that I mentioned are meant to improve your already beefy as hell max'd out sentries. Melody especially, since with it, you'll likely be hitting in the Roxxanne levels of damage with a sentry made from all your MP. Even more so with the Temtry Wrench and Totem buffs. In other words, focus on your strongest attribute; the Sentry; and the Engineering Gods will look upon you with pleasure instead of facepalming.

But, in the end, it's not my choice to make. It's up to you to either take up my suggestions, formulate something possibly better, or keep being that one guy that posts uselessly every now and again. 'Cause right now you're not doing anything productive, Teag. If you do any of the former two, I'll gladly upgrade your helm/armor/trinket to something more suitable (+MP [Regen], +Building HP, +Sentry Damage, the whole 9 yards).

There's nothing much I can do in the battle aside from charge in to I9, bitchslap Ornstein, and run away to G7, I suppose. It'd be lovely to have a sudden ice enchant fly in from nowhere, huh.


Outside of battle, Operative smiles and chuckles quietly. He also has to resist the urge to try to somehow make an innuendo involving rods. Nonetheless, since he's hanging out with Chloe for the time being, he shrugs.

"I guess I can. Not that I've ever tried fishing before, so I'm not expecting to do too well at it... Unless the goal is to accidentally get the hook caught on yourself. That, I could do."

Then, with one hand and a bunch of wires, he casts the line if Chloe lets him, and with the other hand and a bunch more wires, he carefully works on opening the container. Hmm. What could be inside...

<TURN TWO-HUNDRED AND TWELVE>
Darkside's Shade offers to make another fishing rod for Chloe, and also points out the disrespectancies with the crate loot.

ga: Could you? That'd be great!
ga: Assuming Op finds some adamantite in that crate. We'll see.
ga: ...I know it's kinda greedy, but I'm actually hoping for an Enchanted Sundial. Those are cool.
ga: Then again, the crates seem to be slightly messed up, so who knows what we'll find?


He then goes to examine the fake Mythril Ingots... and discovers that two of them are of the Terraria type, and that one of them is actually a small drone with a machine gun that's called the "Mythril Ingot." The shade sustains a few bullets before the drone flies away. But hey. Free kinda-mythril. Alt meanwhile, heads to the Axe Tree and loots an Axe. It seems to be different. Gaia Axe obtained! She then studies the book on Ette's Handwaving, increasing her Translation Skill by... 9 CP, thanks to luck. Her Translation Skill rises to 4: "Fairly Competent!" Ette temporarily exits the battle to test Alt's knowledge.

ct: Any luck? Hopefunly so. Althoug I can tell you're still having some trouble wih it. Don't worry about it, thugoh; I'm sure you'll learn how in du time.

...Progress! Teag then commits the cardinal sin of posting twice in a row, while The Operative then tries fishing. He manages to snag... an old boot and an Obsidifish that was stuck in said boot. The boot looks oddly fancy, though. Meanwhile, he opens up the crate to find 18 Adamantite Bars, and a piece of Master Bait.

ga: Oooh! We should use that bait in non-lava so we can fish up something interesting!
ga: I think there was a lake at...
ga: ...There hasn't been a lake thus far, has there?
ga: Bluh. Oh well. Maybe we'll catch something weird in the lava.


<BATTLE: ANOR LONDO, TURN SIX>
We have five bodies today... and no defense buffs on the field. You might wanna go and reapply those buffs. Anyway, today's weaknesses are Fire and Psychic, and the Badly Poisoned plague is getting even worse!

...I'd like to give a special shoutout to JOE, who perhaps intentionally or unintentionally saved the team from an instant-death attack via a masterful usage of Portal. He was sadly killed in combat, succumbing to his poison. Goodnight, sweet prince.

Alt makes an attempt to communicate the following with hand-waving.
"Cool, thanks Ette! I think I'll check out this axe now, it seems pretty cool."

Afterwards, she checks the inventory to check and suddenly communicates panic in a panicky way upon seeing the bombs. She communicates this with a long chain of the letter 'a', followed closely by a 'h'. Her panicky flailing somehow communicates this in handwaves too.

She flies wayhighup into the sky, then uses her lattice modus to link the Cubic Gorillaton of Bombs together, then uses her fairly high STR value to toss it even further into the sky. Freefalling, she lets the collection bombs explode in the air, or using a Rifle on them if they really need the extra oomph to explode. Hopefully they look like fireworks. That'd be cool.

Alt finally lands, using wings to slow herself in case she involuntarily high-fives the ground. With her face. If that all works, she kinda just relief-collapses. While collapsed, she has a thought about the butterfly. She creates a paper plane with the following message on it:

Hey ©haos,
I was wondering what you thought of the Butterfly.
That's all.

(wait alt's pesterchum was tc right? i swear i said that already)
She then tosses the plane to chaos, somehow, and hopes that it's not taken down by Anti-Air Defences.

Toast, who shoulda lost Melody MP, eats a Candy Cane to recover the should-be-lost MP. She follows this up by actually using Melody on Darkside. She's pretty annoyed that Ornstein killed Jon, so she doesn't bother to do any fanfare alongside it.

Alright, we're in a position to kill Ornstein this turn. Let's mop this up, shall we?

I move to (K7) and swap to Chair form. Assuming I can get a Melody, I wait until the end of our portion of the turn (i.e. I act last)(so some peeps can set up for some serious damage), and kamikaze into Ornstein.

@Toast: I need you to Melody me so I can do the above when the time comes. I ask you instead because Roxxanne has valuable DPS.

@Everyone else: Go all-out on this overgrown snake, if possible! We should be able to kill it this turn!

And then the Shade gets cracking.

CRAFTING: Flarefin Koi (x4), Obsidifish (x6), Adamantite Bars (x4), Cinder Logs (x2), Silkweed (x10), Old Boot (x1)

The Flarefin Koi basically go through the same process as before, being crushed down into a small fragment of fire. However, with how I've done it before, I manage to use half the resources to create it, by placing the two kernels that I made into heat-reflective containers instead of resistant ones, to contain the heat better. I also put them into blast ovens to really amplify the heat factor.

I form the base, hook, bobber, and sinker in Adamantite. TWO of each, actually. It's more or less the same process as last time, with the Cinder Wood Log inside the Bobber, and the Adamantite weighing enough to be used as a sinker when covered in Obsidian.

The Obsidifish are crushed and melted as normal, with about half of it going into making the numerous parts and the rest into the string. Or that's what WOULD happen if I wasn't actually making TWO rods. Instead, I expend all of it making the parts. Now, that Old 'Boot' that was fished up by the Operative actually comes in handy here, as I melt it down via application of heat so extreme the metal couldn't even hold it's form and melt until long.

I weave the resulting metal into the line, along with the Silkweed, to make that same high-test lava fishing line (or something extremely similar), with less blackness and more brightness. There's enough line for two fishing rods, thankfully.

With the Obsidian parts and line all created, I assemble them as normal; looks identical in shape, weight and size as their older counterpart, with less useful materials spent. I place some Fire Resistance enchants on them, and prepare for the grand infusion.

I take one of the Flarefin Kernels out of the Blast Oven, the heat overwhelmingly powerful as I open the container it was in. It has enough energy to equate to what was used last time, if a teensy bit weaker. I infuse it into one of the rods, the Adamantite parts glowing with that same fiery aura that defines the Hotline Fishing Rod. WHile it was slightly weaker (And I mean VERY slightly), it was basically the same rod. I do the same with the other rod and kernel, turning out how you would expect it to. i.e. perfect. A quick trial cast for both of them yields perfect results, as expected. They don't burn or melt or disintegrate in lava at all, and haven't suffered any damages despite the different material. Perfect for the duo waiting at the lake!

RESULT: Hotline Fishing Rod (x2).

I deliver one of the fishing rods to the Duo, and pull out the other to use myself.
"Here you are! I've also made another, so that I can fish as well. It's really relaxing. I just wouldn't use the bait you got out of the crate just yet; somehow I think a Duke Fishron-like foe will appear out of the lake once we cast it."
And thus, he places a Woodworm on his hook and casts the line into the lake. He sits on a nearby rock/piece of rubble.

In battle: Run up to L9, beckon Solaire to come a step over so he's in range 1 of me, then use a Fire-element basic attack on Ornstein, and quickly retreat to stand an equal distance away from Ornstein as Solaire is standing in the hope that neither of us are targeted.

Out of battle: Operative pauses. Then, he has an idea, which he explains while casting the line out to see if he can fetch more catches.

"This may seem like a stupid idea, but what about building a lake? All we need is a lot of concentrated firepower on one area, followed by a suitable source of water..."
