I join [RED] with RE because why not. All hail the ORB.

A1: I create several orbs to float around the [RED] ORB, acting as decoy orbs. ORB.

A2: I move into the Desert and begin building an ORB TEMPLE, to give those on the [RED] team ORB BUFFS.

Sorry for vanishing for so long, I just remembered this was a thing I was running, so, here we go again.

QUOTE (JOEbob @ Oct 18 2021, 07:25 PM)
A1, 1 Charge: I spend a charge, and this action, to upgrade the Soul-Catching Array so its collected souls can be spent- by it, not me- to empower the SCA (mostly for greater health.); any excess power is spent on increasing the health of the SCA directly.

A2: shocked at my critical failure last round, I begin training my mana manipulation abilities, aiming gain resistance or immunity to magical critical failures! the possibility of doing exactly the opposite of what I want to do with terrifying power is a bit... bad for planning, really.

ROLL: 6

OVERSHOOT

You Empower the Soul Catching Array... a little too much!

The Soul Catching Array evolves into the Wraith Internment Array, it now has control of how it spends the souls trapped within... but to what end?

You immediately begin to worry about what tragedies could occur if you fail critically with your magic, and attempt to devise a means of preventing critical failures or overshoots...

ROLL: 2(+1) = 3

PARTIAL SUCCESS

Your training... works, to a degree?

Your next critical fail or overshoot will be negated and made a normal failure or overshoot.

QUOTE (Paradoxdragonpaci @ Oct 18 2021, 07:51 PM)
(x1)I consider constructing an actual research Base, and than just do it, it probably will pay for itself in the long run.

(x1) Choosing to not actually charge for once, I instead consult the ORB inside the Lab(if it's built) to see about improving soliders, or maybe creating medics. Honestly it would be a miracle if I don't get blown up considering my abysmal luck in most cases.

You decide that the only way to win this war is with science, and construct appropriately.

ROLL: 5

CRITICAL SUCCESS

You build a science lab in the BLUE Fortress, it has everything you need for R&D. (You now gain +1 to rolls made to upgrading or creating Experimental Units)

You consult the ORB for Troops, and how to improve them.

ROLL: 4

SUCCESS

For a moment, you assume the ORB will continue being unhelpful, before you are provided with something new,

TROOP REQUISTION LIST

BLUE Soldier: The Basic bread and butter of your army; STATISTICS: 1000 HP, 200 ATK

BLUE Medic: For when that Bread and Butter get stomped but survive to tell the tale; STATISTIC: 1000 HP, 100 ATK, 100 HEAL

INSERT NEW TEMPLATES HERE

... Well that's interesting

You now are able to force the ORB to create new Unit Types!

QUOTE (redoubtableEagle @ Oct 18 2021, 08:29 PM)
A1+A2: BLU has lost half their soldiers, and it's time to finish off the rest! Curling my fingers, I place both my hands at chest-level facing outward (such that the palm of one hand is on the back of another).

"Galick Gun..."

Ki begins to gather in the palm of my front-most hand, and after about ten seconds of charging, the attack is ready.

"FIRE!"

I thrust both hands forward, and a beam of roaring fuchsia Ki erupts from my palms. The beam races towards the BLU Soldiers, still trying to climb out of the pit. The Galick Gun explodes on impact, creating a large crater where the BLU Soldiers once were.

Satisfied with my work, I order the RED Soldiers to pick off any survivors. The PUR forces get away, but that's alright. They can be dealt with later.

With the power of the Galick Gun you obliterate 3 BLUE Soldiers, getting the rest of them thoroughly trapped within a crater.

You order the RED Soldiers to kill off the BLUEs and leave the PURPLE ones alone.

QUOTE (pionoplayer @ Oct 18 2921, 09:53 PM)
A1: I get annoyed, and buy an entire fence of the make and model I wanted last round and slam it down in the plains to do what it was intended last round. I give it a very stern talking to about not falling prey to critical failures to make sure it does what it's told this time.

A2: If I get a critical failure anyways I hammer the control Z button to undo the mess made by my first action. If I do not get a critical failure I instead charge a single point.

You summon a fence and give it a really stern talking too.

ROLL: 5

CRITICAL SUCCESS

The Fence is really receptive to your wishes! (Enemy Factions will take a -1 on rolls to enter the Plains)

Since you were successful in your Fence creation, you charge a point.

QUOTE (Nedben @ Oct 18 2021, 10:40 PM)
A1: I shoot myself with a Persona wild card instead, becoming a Persona user.

A2: I ask more generally what it'd cost for always-beneficial roll biasing to avoid overshoots.

ROLL: 2

FAILURE

You shoot yourself with a persona card and get a mild headache and nothing more.

You ask the universe what it'd take to get beneficial roll biasing...

ROLL: 5

CRITICAL SUCCESS

"git gud lol" says the universe. "just kidding, just kidding, now, for serious..."

"Effectively, gamble Charge points on a roll and pray that you roll between 3-5, or just have a creative enough solution that you can bypass the roll."

QUOTE (King_Fuffy @ Oct 29 2021, 08:29 AM)
I join [RED] with RE because why not. All hail the ORB.

A1: I create several orbs to float around the [RED] ORB, acting as decoy orbs. ORB.

A2: I move into the Desert and begin building an ORB TEMPLE, to give those on the [RED] team ORB BUFFS.

ROLL: 1

CRITICAL FAILURE

Your attempted decoys are so terrible that you offend the ORB.

As you flee to the desert it throws a powerless replica of itself at you, to show you what a REAL DECOY looks like.

You start building a temple in the desert as an apology.

ROLL: 2

FAILURE

Your attempt does no go well.

Your "Temple" is a pile of bricks.

---EOTB---

The PURPLE Soldiers retreat into the plains, and are joined by the PURPLE Medics, The PURPLE Soldiers are then healed.

The RED Soldiers finish off the BLUE Soldier's in the Crater.

the Wraith Internment Array sucks up the five souls left behind by the dead BLUE Soldiers... the WIA spends two Souls to heal itself this turn.

BLUE Soldiers and RED Soldiers March to new locations.

Oh God, I offended the ORB. This will simply not do!

A1+A2: I continue working on the [RED] Orb Temple.

(the array is still, like, on my side, right?)
A1: I continue my training, trying to get better at not having magical critical failures in the long run!

A2. I don't remember how I set up the array in the first place because it has been a while but I cast a spell to spatially translocate its position upwards a few dozen meters so that troops which can't fly because they're on the ground will be unable to attack it effectively. Assuming it's still on my side just not directly ordered. If it's not on my side, I spend this action trying to make it on my side (without trying to remove its free will or anything I just want to be allied.).

I order the RED Soldiers to set up an ambush for the BLU Soldiers approaching from the Taiga.

A1+A2: To aid them in this, I lay a minefield under the path the BLU Soldiers will be taking. We must hold the central Battlefield at all costs!
