I grab the Clockbreaker and the Can of MediMist. I squeeze the trigger of the Can and time freeze it at that exact moment in time. I stick the can in my back pocket. Now, so long as I am in a state wherein I am conscious, I can continue to maintain the timestop, and I continue to do so. On the off chance that I become too injured to maintain it, or otherwise choose to desist in doing so the Can will resume time and spray me. It's an automatic heal saved for later! Clever, I know.

With my second action, I gather some corpses and add them to my inventory. I also analyze them for anything useful they may have in or on them.

((One person. The sheriff is crazy so it fits, sort of.))
"Imps or humans... well, we don't have any imps... This seems to be a bit difficult to negotiate..." The sheriff smiles. That's the greatest plan ever. The sheriff goes into negotiation with... the pile of corpses. Yes, that will work marvelously. They're obviously the sheriff's enemy. It's the only thing the Nightmare refuses to eat/kill, and, let's all be honest, no one really wants a pile of corpses laying around. And so the negotiations begin.
The sheriff starts by proclaiming what he wants: food for the Nightmare. Immediately, the corpses assume the worst. They hiss, moan, scream at him that this is madness. There is no way they are feeding some of their own to that monstrosity. Through the chaos and clamor, the sheriff slams his fist down on the table (or other flat surface), calling for silence. The corpses calm down, waiting to hear what the sheriff has to say. The sheriff explains that the Nightmare won't eat dead corpses. The corpses all sigh in relief. The sheriff continues, stating how he needs imps to feed to the Nightmare. The corpses find this to be somewhat reasonable, even though they don't see how they can help. Finally, the sheriff moves to do his closing statement. He stands upon the table (flat surface) they are negotiating around. Then, he says the most inspirational thing he can, "Y'all a bunch of no good bandits who should go die in a hole." ... Well then...
The negotiations immediately go sour. So sour, in fact, that the negotiation roll auto-rolls a one. Somehow, the pile of corpses summon 2 Brute Imps to attack the sheriff, just as he had planned. The Nightmare watches as the Brute Imps show up, licking its lips, imagining the taste of Imp flesh. It rushes forwards and immediately knocks one of the Brute Imps and starts biting at it, trying to eat it as fast as possible. As the sheriff watches this, he feels proud of his negotiation. However, this thought is immediately knocked out of his skull as the other Brute Imp starts beating him up.

Acquire seeds from the various fruits and vegetables and whatnot, then start setting up a garden in the alchemiter fort.

It seems we will have to leave this universe to survive, because nothing less will escape the miles.

You begin setting up a garden.

Equipped:

Hellminer
Merlin's Wizsticks

Ah, horticulture! Time to spice things up.
I take the Architect's Trident, Merlin's Wizsticks and Hellminer, and head on over to our pile of infinite rocks. With the rocks, I build up a compost bed and throw in some paper scraps, grass clippings, a couple of the corpses, clothes from our infinite pile (ones that are made out of entirely organic materials), loose hair from us and Pope and, if there are trees around ("seriously, do we have any trees?"), I add leaves and pieces of bark from them.
I take more fruits from the restaurant, multiply them and the veggies with the Wizsticks, and, once they have been deprived of their seeds, I throw them into the bed too, leaving a few fruits and veggies left over, at least one of each kind. I use the Wizsticks to magically pulverize everything finely, so it'll compost more quickly.
With the Trident and Hellminer in shovel mode, I tunnel down into the earth and pull up groundwater. I use this well water to douse the compost bed to keep it moist, and to water the tomatoes, as well as the other assorted seeds I just planted.
The minerals in the groundwater will help them grow especially well.
I then pulverize some rocks with the Hellminer in pickaxe form, and lay the pebbles over the garden soil with a bit of the stuff from the compost bed as mulch.
For good measure, I grab the Shattered Timekeepers amd use them to speed up the composting and growing, just a tiny bit.
Finally, I look upon my handiwork; the compost bed and the new crops growing in the garden.
Oh, gardening is so much simpler when you have magic on your side!

Subsequently, in a complete non-sequitur of a bonus action, I use the Hellminer to tear an outlet in the restaurant out of the wall.

<----([Chapter One])---->
= - = SBURBan Survival = - =

So, hello there players. Yes, I know you’re the ones who’ll come to own and read this book. Having foresight is nice, isn’t it? For your sake, even though none of the events described in this book have come to pass yet from my point of view, I’ll use present tense.
Regardless, let us begin.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, the meteors have fallen. Civilization? Gone. Power’s out, water’s out, you get the idea. There is a way out of this hellscape, but that will be elaborated on in later chapters. In this chapter, we’ll focus on how to survive and stay alive here.

=-=FOOD=-=

Surprise, surprise, you still need to eat. While a bug in how SBURB handles hunger means you *can* go longer then usual not eating before you feel negative effects, eventually, you will need to consume some stuff. How are you gonna find food, you ask? Well, let’s see.

Buildings:

While the meteors have destroyed all of civilization, you can still scavenge from buildings. At the point in time you’re reading this, a lot of the stuff you can take from houses has been looted by underlings, gone rotten, or both. (Underlings don’t really seem to care what they eat, even if it’s rotten.) However, there are some places where you can grab food. The best places to check are Restaurants, Markets, Food Trucks (due to most cars and such being untouched by the meteors, for some unknown reason), and Stores.
WARNING: Stores usually have some sort of big group of underlings, or more likely, a boss Underling, hanging around. The boss gets more powerful the larger the shop is. You can tell if there’s gonna be a boss by checking the surrounding area for large quantities of whatever the boss’s affinity is. A flooded spot, for example, will likely house a shop big enough for the Leviathan, a midgame (about 300 HP) boss to spawn. Boss shops usually have quite the spoils inside, though.

Shopkeepers:

At some consort shops or villages, the Consorts will sell or give you food. Most villages have a “specialty” of sorts, and I swear they’re safe. Yes, even if you got the rainbow shrooms.

Underlings:
Some underlings (usually bosses, ones with golden auras, or ones that are bronze, silver, or gold) will drop MAD L00T upon death. Of this mad loot, you can sometimes find food.

Oh yeah, water. Water is actually pretty easy, just dig around and you can usually swipe some bottled water.

=-=BASE=-=
My foresight tells me by now you’ve obtained the Base upgrade to the alchemiter, which allows you to add on walls, platforms, gardens, etc. I recommend you use this create a base out of the alchemiter, as anything counted as a “house” by SBURB will provide passive regen and provide energy to you, allowing you to continue fighting without sleep.
This does not mean you should go without sleep, as that is still something you humans need.

=-=SCAVENGING=-=
So, scavenging. It seems you already have that figured out, so I’ll just give you some tips.
- Buildings and streets that are mostly rubble are a lost cause. The meteors and the shockwaves from them will have destroyed almost everything useful they contain, so don’t bother.
- The farther you get from your group, the more underlings you’ll attract. Also you might accidentally enter a area SBURB has classified as a “endgame” zone, and get murdered by extremely high level bosses.
- Sometimes you’ll find locked chests with special things around them, like a timer, or a counter. These are Challenge Chests. To open them, you’ll have to undergo a trial of sorts, like defending the chest until the timer hits 0, defeating a high level underling, or just bringing the chest’s HP to 0.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

..and that concludes the chapter. If you have any requests for things to add to this to help you, write it on a piece of paper and throw it in the air. I can’t guarantee my future sight will catch a glimpse of it, but we can hope.
And yes, I know you wonder how I’ll write new parts of the chapter even though this a book and can’t update. The answer? Read the introduction.

((This post does not count for the purposes of double posting. So no, apex, you cannot post again.))

"Thanks for the assist ApexUltimo... Interesting. Well, ya see, I am naturally inclined to vote for the rubble path because that seems easy for me and my pardner to traverse. On the other hand, it seems the watery path is the more... valuable path. Hmm... I'll vote for going down the drowned path."
With his vote (he assumes we're voting) cast, the sheriff attempts to study the tracks of the imps that just left, trying to find some sort of hierarchy or law or some sort of reasoning. He doubts he'll find anything, but rule one of sherrifing is know thine enemy or something.

I take some more of our infinite rocks and start knapping some flint. I shape two of them into two separate halves of an axe head and a bunch more into stone "teeth", and then rip two long, straight branches off of a tree. I use the sharp part of the axe head to shear them down, making them as straight as I can and removing the bark.
Then, I take some of our infinite clothes, and tear off the sleeves. With these, I tie the axe head halves and one of the branches together, and tie the other branch to the teeth, with them lined up all along it. I toss the sheared wood bits to the compost pile (whenever I cut wood, plants or really anything organic, it's safe to assume the small leftovers went into the compost), and look proudly upon my new makeshift axe and saw.
They don't have to be good, after all, they just have to be alchemizable.
But just to break them in (but hopefully not just break them), I carefully chop down a couple of relatively thin trees and roll them into the base, then carve down the extra branches and points to make log benches.

Afterwards, I take up the Book again, call Pope over, sit down on a log bench, and start reading out Chapter 0a about the Author, petting the good Doggo all the while.

Actually, now that I think of it, I suggest we head down the treasure path first, then the northmost. Best to get armed up in case we run into issues on Tatooine before reaching Coruscant. Speaking of, I try to look around for any type of discarded tools around here. Maybe a screwdriver, or a wrench. We might be able to use them in our quest to improve the alchemiter.

I…
-3 Durability from everything used.

Winetaster && Scroll of Curaga = Dionysus Canteen 7/11
Dice && Court Wizards = Blackjack Baton 7/8

warm up the air and ward off the terraria mobs

Investigate the area around the store. Is there a parking lot? Side alleys? An employee entrance? Large windows damaged by meteor-induced shockwaves? Different civilian entrances? This will likely host a boss fight, so we'd better make sure our angle of entry/exit is good and we're not surrounded by underlings even before we get there.

If there's action power remaining, search nearby accessible cars for content. Any pens, tissues, leftover water bottles, GPSes, stuff like that which ends up in cars.
