>Project Thymium
PLAY - Writing on a Wall (The Dear Hunter) “Thousands of years ago, in the recesses of the Void, there existed two races on a planet called Sussui; Chairians and Tabletopians. For as long as most could remember; the two races, both born of wood, had been at eachother’s throats. The war raged on for centuries, with the Chairian’s magic and the Tabletopian’s science holding eachother at bay, causing an eternal stalemate. These times, once fortold in ancient scripture, were known as the End War; the war to end all wars- the war to end a race of creatures. One fateful day, the Chairian forces were decimated by a being known as the Chairheir; a former ally and friend of the Chairians, who’s origins were unbeknowst to them. Using magic unseen before by both sides, he cast the Chairian Army away, and the Tabletopians soon laid waste to the Chairian people. The End War had passed. Everything was said and done. The war was over. Or so they thought. In truth, the End War had only just begun. The traitorous Chairheir was soon executed for his crimes by what remained of the Chairian people. Using magic from another world, the current leader of the Chairians cursed the Chairheir with delusions of purple, dooming him to his own mind. To ensure that he could never be saved, the Chairians created a gigantic wooden ball, known as the Sphere. A prison made of solid wood, that sealed the Chairheir away with four glyphs of legend. The Chairheir was to be left inside of the Sphere, to rot for all eternity. While the Chairheir couldn’t leave the sphere, he was left to think. To let his mind run wild, fueled by the ancient otherworldly magic. His power too great, enhanced by the magic, he took control of the Sphere. While the magic of the glyphs was enough to keep him inside his prison, the Chairheir was left free to create his own beasts; soulless beings with a desire for disorder. These beasts surged out and began to terrorize the Chairian people. The Chairheir should’ve been destroyed by this point. But, the leader of the Chairian people had other ideas. He decreed that this Sphere was now a weapon of immense power. Using the power of the glyphs, he would send the Sphere through the Tabletopians in a ploy to exact revenge for his people. The people, spurred on by this promise of revenge, resolved to survive until the Sphere was ready to take off in a week’s time. A shame they won’t survive to see that day. Isn’t it hilarious? They’re all going to die. Every single last one of them. In a week’s time, the Sphere shall crack in two, raining armageddon upon the entire universe. Their efforts, their struggles- they’ll all be forgotten! Everyone and everything too- they’ll all be taken! I’ll be able to complete my second directive! I’m sure all of you remember your promise. But please, forget about that. You can’t stop me. Let nature take its course. All shall be devoured in the wake of the scales. The End War shall live up to its name. Goodbye, and sweet dreams!” ...That story. Those words. Only a few days prior, they began to assault your dreams. It was WARE who was speaking back there. A month ago, you met with him face to face in the Mindscape. As you fought and he broken apart, another part of him pleaded with you. To go and find him on the planet of Sussui, and save him. Of course, for whatever reason, you agreed to go- to fulfill your promise. ...Or maybe you didn’t meet with him. That’s totally fine, too. Perhaps you were spurred on by these words of challenge, or the fires of heroism pleading you to save the universe from harm. Maybe you were bored and wanted something to do. And so, you left. Through the depths of the void you flew, down onto an ancient wooded (and wooden) planet called Sussui. Home to the Chairians and Tabletopians. Home of an ancient evil. As you descend onto the planet, you see the Sphere that WARE was talking about. It's about as enormous as you imagined; it's nearly a mile in diameter, made entirely of wood, and floating gently not too far from the capital of the city. Along its surface are several beasts, rushing and tearing their way down its surface. Some of them break free from its apparent gravitational pull, and fall like rain into the forests below. There's likely hundreds, if not thousands of them prowling the ground below. You land not too far from the capital. Landing near the Sphere could prove to be dangerous. You take a look at the land around you- trees of all colors, even unnatural hues like blue or pink line the horizon. There was barely any room to land, given the thickness of the forest that you needed to land in. Without another word, you venture into the darkness, straight towards the capital. ...And this is where your story begins. You come across a bunker, some distance away from where you arrived. Not far away is a patrol of soldiers, a farcry from those beasts you saw earlier. You slip into the bunker, and take a look. They're proceeding towards the bunker, weapons in hand. You hear a command from the one in the back, huge cannon mounted on their soldier. SOLDIER: Remember your orders. Chairheir Spark has told us about some rebels spotted around this area. SOLDIER: Their objective- to destroy the Sphere! SOLDIER: If you see them... shoot to kill. SOLDIER 2: excuse me i have a sword SOLDIER: Or slash! I don't care! SOLDIER 3: I have a spear- SOLDIER: OH MY GOD JUST KILL THEM IF YOU SEE THEM ...It looks like you have company. Fortunately for you, you're armed and ready! You whip out your signature weapon- maybe it's a gun with enough firepower to level cities and bankrupt China. Maybe it's a sword that unleashes a vortex of energy with each swing! Maybe it's a nuclear device imbued with sandwich toppings! You take aim, and- Well, your weapon doesn't seem to be working. In fact, it's shrouded in purple. A quick test reveals that your weapon has been completely bricked- it won't shoot, won't cut, won't (verb). And to make matters worse, the soldiers have noticed your attempt to down them. You consider your options. You dive into the bunker, and inside appears to be an array of experimental weaponry, none of them shrouded in the purple of your personal arms. You take one up, and ready yourself for combat. RULES: Like DTG: Chaos before it, Project Thymium isn't a conventional DTG game! You can learn about the rules of the game and all of the main differences here. In this Google Document is every rule, every character sheet, and basically everything you'll need to play the game. To start, if you haven't yet, you'll need to create a character, and post it in this thread. Prepare yourself! This'll be a far harder journey then Chaos's Mindscape could ever offer... <ROUND ONE> Anyway, remember those soldiers from earlier? We weren't kidding- they're currently rushing you! Fortunately, it seems like through the powers of plot and meeting in a tavern, you have a couple of allies with you! Maybe it's time to introduce yourselves... and once those soldiers are down, you can proceed towards the Sphere together! Originally posted on 2017-11-19 00:06:00 -------------------- |

DCCCV looked at his bow. Oh, right, the Sphere. Phooey. Stowing away his bow, he rifles through the weapon cache, until he finds a random sword that looked familiar: Black, with a downward-sweeping guard. Strange, how did that get here? He would think more of it, if it wasn't for the squadron of soldiers advancing on his position. Standing on J16, he moves to L16 and guards. While he does that, he also tries to make some conversation with his new acquaintances.

undyingAuthor: Some time ago, I made a vow to someone, with the Judgement above bearing witness. To a memory, long gone. Why am I going away now? Simple. It is time to fulfill that promise. Fret not, my dear sister, for I will return to you soon.
On G16, a large wooden door appears, before a slender man in a black coat, with red hair and sky blue eyes walks through it. He sweeps his hair back before looking around at the other people joining him on his quest. His right wrist glows like a star, and a chain-patterned scar upon it fades. That would be it, as the door closes, but something has to happen. Before the door closes, a red blur speeds through the door and slams into Auth's back, knocking him to the ground on F14. genesisCurator: I hope you aren't forgetting someone, Author! uA: No, of course not, Genoa. A red dragon, the size of a large dog, stands above Auth while he lays on the ground, proud of knocking him over. Auth rolls her off, and stands up, as the door closes, and disappears. Toast is here. She looks awkward, and potentially depressed- neither of which is characteristic of her. She's wearing a light grey t-shirt beneath a dark orange hoodie (slightly worn out), paired with some grey jeans. Although this is a perfect normal look for her, she still seems... different. Most noticeably is her crystal arm, which has dulled significantly from when you last saw her. Her hair is now a shade of brown, in contrast to the brilliant emerald colour it usually has. Judging by her expression, I think she has other things on her mind besides her appearance.
She glances around at the recently gathered people, searching for anyone with a hint of familiarity, but with foes (presumably) quickly surrounding them, maybe reunions will have to wait. --- Toast spawns somewhere, moves to G14, and uses Blood Molding to summon a Charian Cannoneer at F13. Also everyone knows how to speak Yoshi for some reason. Also convenient. "(Hah, never expected to slip by THAT smoothly! Par for the course for us! Right?)" Hat Kid nods. She hops on the back of Boshi. "(Well, let's get started!)" Hat Kid will be hiding behind Boshi's massive head it seems. A shadowy figure with a pyramidal head and a single piercing eye is suddenly in existence in the bunker, at G14.
...I am the Voice Inside Your Head. The Voice quickly grabs a random stick off the floor and fiddles with it a bit, before also donning a squarelet and a set of robes, and picking up a couple of blue flowers. A bit off-aesthetic for a being whose entire body is black but for their eye, but who cares, it's effective. The squarelet fits the Voice's head perfectly. I mean, they're both square, it could be foreseen. With that over, he moves to G13, then raises the stick, which glows with a pink-purple radiance the color of his eye. An identically colored summoning circle etches itself into H13. Come forth, my minion. A strange spherical robot appears within the circle and moves itself into fighting position. Spheric summoned, from 16 effective INT, giving 14 points and 4 free 10% resistances! Trait: Stoneskinned. 4 points to HP, 2 to SHP, 4 to MOV, 1 to HIT, and 3 to AC, out of 14 total points. "This is the place I hold in my memory. At least, it looks like it. Let's check it out."
"I hope yer right... So, who's going in first?" "Hm... Well, maybe you should. Looks like they've got mostly physical damage down there." Moments later, a pair of people arrive nearby. Namely, a gray robotic lass landing hard on both feet, and a blue-hooded guy dropping down to the ground and rolling on impact. Moments later, they're joined by some albino guy who has apparently been designated a noncombatant, going by the whole medical getup he has on. There's a pause. "Well, good day, everyone. I'm Verdana, the guy in the blue hoodie is my sort-of-bro Calibri, and the gray lass is EN-913. Mind if we tag along here?" It seems as though Verdana and Calibri are, for the most part, hanging back from the battle for the time being. EN-913, however, steps forth and rockets herself over to land on I14, then moves up to I11 and stands there, taking a look at the assembled enemy forces... "Sorry, y'all, we kinda got sent here to do things, and y'all're in the way. So... yeah." She then fires a shot at the Chairian Brute. Well... to be accurate, she uses her weapon skill on the guy. It'd do the same damage anyway, right? And she ain't retreating, it seems, which is good because she's real freaking tough and blocking a doorway.
