Battle: Yung Venuz's Crib

In the YV battle, Irongutta spawns at I15, scoots to H12, and buffs both Star and himself using Fury!

Heck, Edit:
Change the Shattering Storm's variable Pierce resist to Crushing.

YUNG VENUZ'S CRIB:
Remiel will spawn in with Acacia at L14, and gets the Vengeful mutation (rolled here). Acacia should use Gaiaflame to get to 4 stacks of Overgrowth, then take any extra MP she needs from Remiel, and then chuck a Siege Spire at the Throne. Remiel will Wide-Eye Watchful Eye centered at K9, though it'll only affect I8 to M10 due to basicattack range limitations. Rem will also Encapsulate its own MP, to maybe counteract a Guardian attack or something.

INFESTED MOUNTAIN:
(posting for Tazz)
Venia will spawn (setting Basic Attack range to 4-6) and move to M18, then Kickstart My Heart to gain Ordo and Purge straight to the North.

<ROUND 322>

Adria experiences alcohol-based pain. As Adria drops to the ground from hangover x somnum induced shock, Omorika equips and throws the time traveler a flask full of water. Adria probably doesn't catch it, but even if it lands on the ground... it's a flask. The cap's still screwed on.

OMORIKA: Ah, right. If you're not prepared for the shock, my spell can certainly be a bit... disconcerting.
OMORIKA: This should help with the nausea. My apologies.
OMORIKA: Do you require anything else? We have a few light snacks that shouldn't upset your likely tumultuous stomach.

Meanwhile, out on the town, Hannah discusses the Iti (or lackthereof) with the friendly neighborhood Railsniper. Far as they can tell, with all four glyphs firmly in the party's grasp, WARE has decided to go on the defensive. Either that, or he's preparing the biggest wave of Iti ever seen to wipe out the entirety of the city. Or worse!

RAILSNIPER: Uh. That's, grim.
RAILSNIPER: We can only hope that they're going on the defensive.
RAILSNIPER: I hope you Spherebreakers have a plan if they're planning to siege the city with numbers never before seen.
RAILSNIPER: We Rebels... well, there's only so many of us.
RAILSNIPER: Even if we worked with the remainder of the Chairian military, there's only so much we could do.

Hannah then looks out into the city, sighting a certain royal mess. Her shadow disjoints from her body, rolling over to the fancy carriage. Hopping on top of it, she can't help but ask the Eviscerator; why waste her time on this 2x4?

EVISCERATOR: Trust me. Doing this is helping people.
EVISCERATOR: We can't let these unhinged royal gorillas walk around freely.
EVISCERATOR: And, besides. She's the daughter of the dictator who literally tried to have us all killed!
EVISCERATOR: Maybe she'll try and finish the job. And hell if I'm going to let that happen.

SAKURA: W-Why, the nerve!
SAKURA: All I want is to get out of here, so psychopaths like you don't burn me at the stake for the heinous crime of being his daughter!

EVISCERATOR: Princess, please.
EVISCERATOR: You've done plenty more crimes than that.

As tensions grow, Hannah roots through the Carriage for any potential valuables, like a raccoon in a dumpster. The useless credits give way to a few useful goodies: 5 Royal Rations, 3 Ancient Yggcrawler Nectar, and 2 Magia Detonators. Those last things are...

SAKURA: H-HEY! Stop rummaging through that!
SAKURA: I-I'll have you know t-those are my belongings, and to take those would be punishable by-

EVISCERATOR: Eh? Are you one to talk about stealing at the moment?
EVISCERATOR: The answer is "definitely not".
EVISCERATOR: And why are you lugging around experimental weaponry, anyway? Got some nefarious plans up your sleeve?

SAKURA: W-Well, you never know when some savages will assault y-your caravan!
EVISCERATOR: Would you really use things like that on civilians, miss Sakura?
EVISCERATOR: For shame.

The tension on each combatant's weapon increases as their grips tighten. For good measure, the Eviscerator also equips a few of their trademark poisoned knives. As if they'd ever use those instead of backstabbing for a billion damage, though. Eviscerators probably have some of the most downs among any enemy type.

As pandemonium continues to occur, Mari and Adria continue to blissfully chill in space, oblivious to whatever's going on. The two of them decide to retire for the night. Mari bobs her head, also absorbing praise like a sponge does water.

MARI: Heh, did I really do that good?
MARI: Glad that I have such a good teacher!

Mari gives Adria a pap on the back, before the two of them depart to the main area's drop pod sort of system. Mari snuggles herself into a seat, sinking deep into it. She also equips a seatbelt. Very important.

MARI: Ooh. This thing's actually kinda cushy. Nice.
MARI: Better than the one I was shot at the planet with, at the very least.
MARI: Like, we actually have safety features! Fire extinguishers n' gorilla!
MARI: Fire safety is no joke! Unless you're in enemy territory, then do whatever the hell you want!

After a few final safety checkups, Adria launches the pod down towards the earth. Though they're going from orbit down to the planet's surface, it feels quite like a cozy elevator ride.

MARI: Needs elevator music. Gotta complete the feel.

But soon enough, the two of them touch down somewhere near the house. Now begs the question; is this the point to end their little excursion? Perhaps there's a few more words to be said before their little journey is cut off. It was a good journey, though. Quite comfy.

:comf:

Hexagon does a vareity of tasks! First, he goes shopping. buying 5 Panaceas and 5 Stardew Potions from Yung Venuz. Who he's currently fighting, but that's a minor issue, right?

YUNG VENUZ: YOU BETTER NOT USE THOSE AGAINST ME!
YUNG VENUZ: ACTUALLY... YEAH. FEEL FREE TO DO THAT.

He non-discretely slips a few Rads into the purchased goods. While Hexagon ponders the legality of this, he knows that another merchant isn't being legal in the slightest! He contacts Chaos, telling him that a small business owner is undermining capitalism by selling FAKE goods!

GASP: gasp
CHAOS: how dare
CHAOS: i will remedy [t]his si[t]ua[t]ion
CHAOS: one se[c]ond

Chaos clips through the ground, glitches into the scammer's cart, and fixes their goods before teleporting back to his stand. He has done it with the precision stealth of someone from a Metal Gear game. That being Revengeance.

CHAOS: [t]hank u for repor[t]ing [t]his issue
CHAOS: [c]api[t]alism [t]hanks you, [c]omrade
CHAOS: have [t]his on [t]he house, honorable defender of [c]api[t]alism

Chaos inserts 1 Credit into the inventory, ruining absolutely everyone's day.

Finally, Hexagon escapes his jail cell, advancing to the ladder! The result of his 8,000 page quest is coming to fruition... as he realizes the passage has sealed up as a result of him leaving his cell. Dejected, Hex returns to his cell. Perhaps one adventure later, he will be able to go down the ladder.

Destiny asks Chloe for some Iti Idol Bathwater. Chloe blinks. It takes a few seconds for her to properly process what Destiny just requested, her face going a flush pink.

CHLOE: P-P... Pardon?
CHLOE: I-I'm... not sure if I'm physically capable of getting t-that.
CHLOE: T-There's only one Iti idol I know of, a-and... w-well, to steal her bathwater...
CHLOE: I d-don't wanna be branded a-as s-someone who... y-y'know, does that! A-And she's more than capable of beating me up i-if she catches me
CHLOE: Uuuu...

Chloe runs from her station, wheelbarrow wheeling behind her. A long, awfully quiet hour later, Chloe returns with a wheelbarrow full of some sort of liquid.

CHLOE: s-she almost saw me
CHLOE: i think i've lost a year off my life
CHLOE: p-please enjoy responsibly

...With this bath water, Destiny creates 3 cans of Monster Energy! Chloe says a silent prayer for whatever poor soul might end up drinking this concoction. Also, Destiny makes a rope. That's not nearly as interesting as the Bath Water, but Ette seems to enjoy it. She pretends that she is now THE cowboy. The pumpkin cowboy. Such a legendary hero that she now aspires to be.

Asha casually mentions that she eats triangles for breakfast. YV stares blankly at her.

YUNG VENUZ: MA'AM THAT'S gorillaED UP

Verdana crisps a salad. A few frostleaves, potatoes, some chunks of wheat, Yggherbs, a Yellow Sap Blob, and a bucket of salt water are thrown into a bowl. This spontaneously turns into salad. Delicious? EN-913 also spends some time gathering Red Sap Blobs rom a tree with her giant spoon. Though her SPOON IS TOO BIG, she still harvests all 25 blobs from the tree. It looks like jello. Wonder if it tastes like jello, too?

Then, over at the big city, Calibri continues to purchase Chaosdogs. 300 Credits are exchanged with Chaos, 3 whole hotdogs being obtained. They're all just as high quality as the last ones. Calibri has also had one additional Chaosdog placed on his head.

CHAOS: how many of [t]hese bad boys do you [t]hink i [c]an s[t]a[c]k up [t]here
CHAOS: if i pla[c]e enough on your head, po[t]en[t]ial [c]us[t]omers [c]ould see you from miles away
CHAOS: and i would make a billion million dollans

Caibri feels an incredible weight placed upon him, in the mental sense. If he were to move, what would happen to the poor hot dog on his head? Must he stand here and be subject to Chaos's advertising experiments? As Chaos continues to pile hot dogs higher and higher, perhaps he will realize. This is now his fate.

Lato meanwhile, does something slightly more productive. They do their best to mediate the situation, asking what exactly the Rebels want from the outpost.

REBEL: Specifically, we require their supplies of explosives.
REBEL: We wish to create a minefield of sorts to fend off entire hordes of Iti at once.
REBEL: In addition, any spare rifles, bows, or whatever else they have would be well appreciated. We'll need many troops on the northern wall if the Iti pull anything.
REBEL: The more guns we have, the better.

Lato then asks the Legionary what sort of authority they recognize at the moment.

LEGIONARY: We... lack any real leading figures at the moment.
LEGIONARY: But to simply give up this position to the very forces that killed dozens of our own... how could we?
LEGIONARY: Who knows what they would do with those explosives, anyway?

REBEL: Hey, HEY! We're not gonna like, blow up houses or anything!
REBEL: We have a common enemy at the moment!

Trust issues? Trust issues.

<YUNG VENUZ'S CRIB, ROUND 2>
Word, the Throne has some nasty Area of Effect damage. Get some healing up right away, or you will rot away. Also be sure to make use of those Mutations; they'll be essential to surviving this battle, and beating the Throne to death!

<INFESTED MOUNTAIN, ROUND 2>
Thanks to a frankly excessive amount of stuns, the first round went off without a hitch! Take care now, though- minions are flowing in! Can you suppress the entire map and kill minions at the same time? Probably not, so be sure to prioritize things carefully!

<VS DROPLET, ROUND 2>
You're on your own here.

Kalis adjusts their trait: instead of granting +25% MP restoration at 12 SPC, it grants +3 MP Restoration. They also switch Skeletal Toss for Fury.

-----

Kalis spawns on K19, moves to I15, and uses the Mimesis Membrane to split, spawning Kalis2 on J14.

Kalis2 casts Focus Energy on Kalis1 as a bonus action. Then they Sprint + use their 1 remaining movement to move to I19.

Kalis1 casts Focus Energy on Destiny (who should be on I16) as a bonus action, casts Pow Hammer as a bonus action on the Left Eye with ricochet active, and then Sprints + uses their 1 remaining MOV to move to I20.

Due to this post's terminal lateness, I've been told to split this post into two halves, to be processed on different rounds.

<Round 322>

Slight Respec

Berg unequips the Winter Apocalypse Hat, and equips the Narehate Helm! As an extra perk, he takes Chaotic Diversion, and takes 5 skillpoints from INT in equivalent exchange. He swaps out Sword Beam for Watchful Eye. He also equips the Zero Blizzard, while also giving it to Nia to upgrade to Tier 7. Somehow.

Berg joins the YV battle, equipping a Warpmelon and an Everfruit. He moves to O11, attacking on ThroneGuardian2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

<Round 323>

Berg continues talking to the Evicserator.

cA: Yes, I'm sure she doesn't deserve this. I don't believe self-defense is a crime. If you have crimes to list that aren't born of hearsay or your biased hatred, go ahead and list them. And simply being a royal doesn't count.

cA: And on the subject of being a "parasite", as you say, would you stand up to her father's decisions towards her, if you were in her position? Not just speaking in terms of comfort, but opposing Spark, in any way? And even if she simply ran off, where was she supposed to go? To the Rebellion?

cA: If you wanted her dead, those would be sure ways to do it. You blame her for something she had no real choice in.

He then turns to the Chairian royal.

cA: And the rebels aren't "burning gorilla because they feel like it". Many of them have legitimate grievances with the Highchair. I wish they had gone through it in a less destructive manner, but that is not my business nor my authority.

cA: ...Your father was a madman, Sakura. I was there, in his final moments, and... if he had ever been a just, reasoned ruler, he was not anymore, in any capacity. You may hate the Rebellion - by Ymir, I have things to say about their methods - but they have reason for their anger and resentment, and for their fight against the Highchair.

cA: And if this rebel tries to kill you, he'll have to go through me. I will not have slaughter and chaos in the streets.

He pauses for a moment, then turns towards Chaos.

cA: ...Except for that one. Would be near impossible to stop him. I don't think even the apocalypse has slowed him down.

cA: Business going well, I suppose? I would think that not many would be interested at the moment...

He looks around at the currently burning city, with Chaos' hotdog stand intact amongst the rubble, opposite Calibri, who has a worrying number of hotdogs on their head.

cA: ...but I've never been a merchantman.

----

Berg first takes the Rhino Skin mutation. Then, using a Royal Insurance/Eager Beaver combo, he spawns at J10, then moves normally to K7, atop the Nuclear Throne.

cA: Venuz! If I stay up here long enough, do I become the new "Gun God"? Can I keep the Throne?

cA: I have to say, I feel that I look more impressive sitting here than you do. More imposing.

...Under his breath, he whispers to himself.

cA: ...Focus on me, Venuz. I can take it.

He then casts a Watchful Eye (Wide-Eyed) at K11, and throws a Managlaze Yggapple to Asha.

--------------------
what if you have like 100 DGE and you're standing behind a lamppost
The lamppost takes the hit for you, and dies.
does the lamppost just become magnetic
Yes. Yes it does.
also, overkill damage to the thing won't harm the things hiding behind it
so being next to cover terrain can't ever really be worse then not standing next to one

Infested Mountain

Adria fires a Hypercharge at the Sleuth, granting him Mending32, Energized16, and Guardian10 for three rounds. Whew, bulky boi!

She then slaps her Exosuit with an Eterna Tea, somehow restoring it to full.

Adria then waits to go last again.

She applies another Sands of Time Stop on the Right Claw and Eye for the last of her Chronodust. The Exosuit continues charging Acceleration.

Adria Stuff

Mari (End?)

The drop pod fortunately land outside of Zone 0's boundaries. It'll probably warp itself away overnight either way.

The door opens for the two and they presumably leave the comfort of their seats. They didn't even feel the impact all that much.

ADRIA: And that's that! At least for now.
ADRIA: Now, about those games...
ADRIA: I may not be the best at them, but I'll give it a good go!

Something tells Mari that Adria is secretly very good at video games. And that a Timeskip to tomorrow is coming up.

Morning Coffee

Adria indeed fails to catch the flask. Though after a while, it becomes apparent that she doesn't require it. She stands back up slowly, picking up the flask as she does and placing it on the counter next to the coffee. She shakes her head once.

ADRIA: N-no, no, that's quite alright, I'll be fine.
ADRIA: Luckily, I have the tech to help with things like this.
ADRIA: While I normally don't use this kind of thing for hangovers, it's kind of an emergency...

ADRIA: I'll grab a bite to eat later.
ADRIA: Thank you for asking, though.

She continues to sip the coffee, still hurting a little bit.

ADRIA: Normally, I'd be asking you why you aren't at the Citadel yet, but time's weird here. You're probably already there.
ADRIA: Well, I'll hopefully be there rather soon.

For now, though, Adria seems content with sticking around for a while. After a few moments of rest, she goes back upstairs to get a meal...

Seatopolis

Railsniper

Hannah nods.

HANNAH: Here’s hoping.
HANNAH: But I think we got this if they go on the offensive. Worst comes to worst, we’ll send in some of our heavy artillery. Or literally construct a new thing on the spot.
HANNAH: We’re kinda nuts like that.

Sakura

Shadow!Hannah glares at the stuff she pilfered. Very few rations engineered to be tasty? Actual drugs? And to top it all off, experimental weaponry?

She looks at Sakura. Then at the stuff. Then at Sakura. A look of sheer disappointment dawns on her face.

HANNAH: Drugs, money, one-use weaponry that isn’t guaranteed to be useful, and a minimal amount of food?
HANNAH: If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were heading to a ball or party, not going out on a hike through hell.
HANNAH: You obviously didn’t plan very well.

And yet, the way she’s looking over her… she leaps off the carriage, landing gracefully on the ground below.

HANNAH: Though… the lack of training and know-how in a time of crisis like this… it reeks of neglect.
HANNAH: Neglect from your deadbeat dad, probably prime among them, but I wonder if there’s a little more behind this story…
HANNAH: A little… “incentive” to keep your mouth shut and hands away from the training dummies, perhaps…?
HANNAH: Wouldn’t put it past the madman.
HANNAH: Whatever, speculation. Happened with other royals, probably happening now.
HANNAH: It would explain the constant partying, at least.

She glances toward the citadel.

HANNAH: That being said, you aren’t entirely blameless.
HANNAH: Not all the self defense parts, I’d do the same in your position.
HANNAH: More in the sense that you… chose to not help. At all. Not even a scrap of food given from what I can only assume is a whole stash of the stuff.
HANNAH: Nobody’s gonna be there to spoonfeed, coddle, and spoil you at all times. Especially now.
HANNAH: Now that you’ve effectively been thrown out of luxury - let’s be real, the first impression of being Spark’s eternally partying daughter is enough for everyone not to vote you back in or perhaps even hire you - what the heck’re you gonna do now?
HANNAH: You’ve got nothing to your name except the clothes on your back, a few weapons you have no idea how to use, a pile of money that will run dry if not end up completely worthless, drugs, and so little food you may as well be starving. On top of that horrible first impression.
HANNAH: You might not even have all of it if you really did steal this stuff. Which is a whole other can of worms.

She gestures around the place. The battered homes, the hungry citizenry, the Rebels holding the line on the walls, and even the Eviscerator standing right next to her.

HANNAH: This. This is the hell everyone’s been going through while you did nothing.
HANNAH: Hunt or scavenge food and money. Train to better fight off an encroaching monster or two. Living in run-down housing or worse. Every day, fearing what lies ahead, what lies in the unknown, and the moment where everything ends.
HANNAH: So they attack those who would threaten their livelihoods to survive. Probably, anyway. It’s more of a desperation move most of the time. Desperate for things to get better, in this case.
HANNAH: At least half of this could’ve been avoided if someone did something, anything, around here.
HANNAH: I know exactly how this gal feels. We’re running out of time. The Sphere is set to blow today.

The shadow makes no sudden movements as she approaches the scene.

HANNAH: Now, you have a couple options here.
HANNAH: One: Keep running from your problems and probably die before getting anywhere significant. I’ll even return the things I pilfered just to prove my point.
HANNAH: Two: Fight the people who once relied on you royals, and in turn you relied on. You’re going to die horribly, and you’ll go down in history as the one who did peck all.
HANNAH: Or three: Actually start helping for once, try to clear your name in spite of being Spark’s partygoing daughter, understand what the hell’s going on here, maybe even put in some work in stopping the Sphere from going kablooey.

HANNAH: …You can probably see where I’m going with this.

She stops just out of reach of Sakura’s naginata, and nods at Auth and Berg, then addresses the Eviscerator in the room.

HANNAH: Yeah, I get it, you’re scared of what could happen.
HANNAH: But dear god, does everything seriously have to be a witch hunt!?
HANNAH: And with how little power this “princess” has right now, it’s pointless to even attempt a kill. She’d’ve been kicked out anyway even if she didn’t make a run for it into nowheresville.
HANNAH: It’d be a hollow, pointless victory at best. A victory that does… well, nothing.
HANNAH: Compared to Spark’s death, where a known madman and tyrannical ruler was slaughtered.
HANNAH: Nothing will change here, except there’s one more corpse and some very, very short-lived catharsis.
HANNAH: That’s what I mean by doing something more worth your time.

She glares at the weapons the two were holding. Watching their every move, their every twitch, more than ready to step in should things spiral out of control.

Symphony Hall (End?)

Hannah reacts with the face of disgust at the mention of a report.

HANNAH: Oh god, reports...
HANNAH: Watched someone write one of those before, and I fell asleep just watching them!
HANNAH: Go on ahead, don't let me keep you.
HANNAH: It was nice meeting you!

She waves goodbye. Once the Warlock vanishes, she addresses the Scion's question. She shakes her head.

HANNAH: Nothin' right now. But I might bring Dorothy when I decide to visit again.
HANNAH: So long as that's alright, anyway.

Hannah stretches as she waits for the Scion's response, accompanied by a loud yawn.

HANNAH: Ugh... it's late on Sussui. I gotta go to bed. Good timing on the meeting, really...
HANNAH: I'll hopefully be seeing you guys later. It's been nice to get off that log for a bit. And to meet a few faces.
HANNAH: Here's hoping everything goes decently alright.

Hannah hops off her seat and heads to the door. Before exiting she waves goodbye.

HANNAH: See you!~

She exits and closes the door behind her. A relaxed Hannah does what she needs to to deactivate the door, and mumbles to herself.

HANNAH: Aegra... hm.
HANNAH: Cool.

And with that, she prepares to sleep, resolving the timeline.

Rosen Catacombs

Now that the Fell God is being dealt with, Michaela's services were no longer needed. So she walks to somewhere where here services would be needed. That being standing in one spot for a bit.

She approaches Hexagon in the jail cell and sighs.

SHELLY: Alright, sure, guess I'm doing this now.
SHELLY: Come get us when you're done.

She lets Hexagon out of the cell and walks in herself. She locks herself in and... starts fiddling with a hardlight display of some kind. She looks bored out of her mind.

I'm back...ish.

Respec Duty:
Echoss + Chloe make something

Echoss is working on something in the house. He seems just a tad stumped, but fortunately Chloe arrives... Not to his rescue specifically but she knows what she's doing generally, right?

CHLOE: Echoss, Echoss! I have an idea for a cool combat technique! Wanna hear it?
ECHOSS: Oh? What is your idea?
CHLOE: Okay, okay. Hear me out. It probably sounds a little dangerous and contrived, but…
CHLOE: You know how I wanna get really close to the enemy so I can beat them up?
CHLOE: And how you can throw things really, really far?

ECHOSS: Yes?
CHLOE: Well… throw me at the enemy!
CHLOE: It’ll be super cool! I get to fly like an angel across the whole map, and strike an enemy from the air! Then I’m all up in their faces, and they can’t escape me since I’m there!
CHLOE: Dive comp!
CHLOE: Dive comp!

There’s a certain glitter in Chloe’s eyes. She’s dead serious, and excited for this. Echoss ponders this for a moment, then smiles before stepping to the side, gesturing at the device on the table. The merger of two of Chloe's previous gifts to him, partially disassembled.

ECHOSS: I think I can do that.
ECHOSS: And your timing is perfect, I needed some help with preparing this for the rest of today.
ECHOSS: Now would be the perfect time to add something to accommodate our new strategy, don't you think?

CHLOE: Alright!
CHLOE: I’ll do my best for you!

Over the next half an hour, the two work together. It quickly turns out that the frame they're using isn't proper to hold their full thing, so instead they draft up a new core entirely. The resulting plans are handed over to Marron.

MARRON: So, let me get this straight.
MARRON: Chloe, you… want to be thrown at the enemy?

CHLOE: ye
MARRON: [gorilla]in… ‘aight.
MARRON: Whatever floats your airship, I guess.

Marron slot has been used to make the Cobalt Launch Core, a T8 trinket that has the same stats as the Accelerator Iris plus two new effects:
Projectile Airdash: Up to X times per battle (up to ire, maybe 3 or 4?), a basic attack or item use can be turned into a 1-4 laser that starts on the tile targeted by the action. This cannot be used for multi-hit or AoE items/basic attacks. (range increases apply to how far out the item can be tossed, not the size of the laser)
Cobalt Butterfly Strike: Chloe and Echoss have worked out a special team attack together. If they are within Range1 of each other, Echoss can use Chloe as an item with Range 1-5 usage. Upon use, Chloe basic attacks the target benefiting from all buffs Echoss has to item actions and teleports to a tile within range 1 of the target. Just in case: cannot be used more than once a round.

The Accelerator Iris is swapped out for the Cobalt Launch Core.
+1 KP into STR (21 total)
+6 KP into SPC (24 total)
+2 KP into DEF (8 total)
Unset Magic resistances are set to: 20% resist in everything except for Light and Dark

Retroactive RPs:
Cypress + Echoss

Sometime the previous evening... Echoss makes his way through the crowded house to find a particular someone, a certain grocery box held in his hands. At last, he finds his quarry.

ECHOSS: Master Taxodiaceae, sorry for the intrusion but could you spare a moment of your time?
CYPRESS: Certainly, sir Echoss. What is required? Business inquiry?
ECHOSS: Not as of yet. As the future of LOCAA's government is still undecided I would prefer not to declare any deals just yet.
ECHOSS: It is both standard protocol and my own preference to ensure any allies or business partners engage in such dealings fully of their own volition.
ECHOSS: This is actually just something of a personal gift.

Echoss hands the box to Cypress and quickly demonstrates its function with a few blocks of stone from the inventory.

ECHOSS: Miss Chi mentioned earlier that you might like to have this to examine.
ECHOSS: There's not much need to bring it back home, so I assumed you would appreciate having it to look over.
ECHOSS: For personal purposes or just as a useful sample if no tech exchange agreements come to fruition post Sphere destruction.

CYPRESS: Interesting. Portal technology? Or something more?
CYPRESS: Portal technology. Thought Tabletoptian innovation. Perhaps they’re outpaced? So small.

ECHOSS: Subspace tech, actually. Though there are similarities.
ECHOSS: I would be quite surprised if the Tabletopians outpaced the Collective in any significant fields.
ECHOSS: To say that it is an unfair comparison to draw would be a spectacular understatement however.
ECHOSS: To my knowledge they've done quite well for themselves in that arena.

Cypress strokes his lack of beard. Subspace technology? And how could the Tabletopians be outpaced in terms of technology? Absurd. Completely absurd.

CYPRESS: …This collective.
CYPRESS: How advanced? Tabletopians; powerful, intelligent. Surely, not outpaced. CYPRESS: …In addition. How to subspace? Asking for… friend. Yes. A friend. Not myself.

Echoss raises an eyebrow and fails to restrain a smirk.

ECHOSS: You do realize that the point of gifting this to you is for you to take it apart and learn how it works to some degree, yes?
ECHOSS: You are one of the foremost researchers in LOCAA Cypress, I assumed you would want to know more.
ECHOSS: The short answer is that subspace tech, or at least that which the collective uses for civilian application, uses a combination of gravitic and metric modification tech to create pockets of expanded space with dilated time.
ECHOSS: Smaller on the inside and chronostasised within that pocket.

CYPRESS: …Request. More boxes? Want to disassemble. Examine.
CYPRESS: Again. For a friend. Yes.
CYPRESS: The friend: science.

Echoss laughs, smiling.

ECHOSS: Perhaps if there's enough time for another shopping trip before things come to a head tomorrow.
ECHOSS: Or alternatively I suppose we could simply use the connector portal to bring some in for your use.
ECHOSS: I believe this purpose would be best served with agreements post Sphere however. There is a great deal more that goes into making this technology not only stable and small enough for civilian use, but cheap enough to mass produce.
ECHOSS: There's a wealth of information someone as brilliant as you could glean from these I'm sure, but talking with the people who design them might help with reproducing them yourself.
ECHOSS: Some of the pieces are a good twenty or more steps on the metaphorical tech tree past where Sussuian technology resides, in branches I'm not sure you've even heard of yet.
ECHOSS: You questioned how Tabletopia could be so behind, yes?

CYPRESS: Yes. Tabletopia, cutting edge. Surely, not outdone.
ECHOSS: The Echo Collective has been running under a single, stable, effective government for millennia.
ECHOSS: Functioning as a major multiversal crossroads for culture, politics, trade, and most relevant to our discussion science, for a majority of that time.
ECHOSS: We have had... Opportunities, so to speak, that most other cultures do not get. That much resources with that much time produces some exceptional results.
ECHOSS: By comparison, Tabletopia has only been around a fraction of that time, and regularly disrupted by political upheaval I gather.
ECHOSS: Combine that with being confined primarily to Sussui until only recent forays in extraterrestrial colonization, access to resources, time, ability, and even entire branches of science are not comparable.

Cypress sighs. Echoss is totally right. It was politics that had disrupted the march of science. So many politics. Why couldn’t they make politics obsolete with the power of SCIENCE? Perhaps it can only do so much, though.

CYPRESS: Politics. Such a pain.
CYPRESS: But yes. Not around long. Slight headstart, you.
CYPRESS: …Tell me. What innovations, collective? Examine what first? When I visit. Eventually. Once work: done. Sphere, I mean.

ECHOSS: Hmm.
ECHOSS: There is quite a lot, I am unsure where I would direct you to start.
ECHOSS: Your own personal forte seems to be in communications, motor technology and automation, yes?
ECHOSS: I would recommend taking a visit or requesting contact with the Xelean Institute of Mechanical Engineering first.
ECHOSS: They have good early contact outreach programs and that is the field that will look most similar to the problems you are currently used to solving.

CYPRESS: Certainly. I shall remember. In theory.

Cypress notes down this information on his PDA. The man is still yet to find a Magic Mirror to properly upgrade his humble little device into a Cellphone.

CYPRESS: Anyway. Thank you. The gift: fascinating.
CYPRESS: Any other queries?

ECHOSS: Nothing for tonight at least.
ECHOSS: Tomorrow is... The end of an era some might say. One way or another.
ECHOSS: Business, politics, and adventuring can all wait until we've spent time resting.
ECHOSS: I should go make my way towards that in fact... I need to rest properly tonight a bit more urgently than most of the party.
ECHOSS: Have a good evening Cypress.

Chloe + Echoss

The night before, before the siege, in the basement of the house, in the back corner of the hallway with the various private rooms, at the end of a runaway compound sentence, a certain overseer is setting up a sleeping bag. As he prepares his abode for the night, a blonde presses through into the hall. She fiddles with the lock on her door, giving it a jiggle. Did someone lock it behind her? How frustrating. Must’ve been Chaos.

ECHOSS: Oh hello Chloe.
ECHOSS: Will people be settling in for the night soon then?

CHLOE: W-Waaaah!

Chloe jumps at the sound of Echoss’s voice. She turns to peer down the hallway, seeing a sight she’d call “curious” at the very least. The grand president ruler person of the entire Echo Coalition is sleeping in the corner. In a sleeping bag. She tilts her head a few degrees to the right.

CHLOE: E-Eh? Echoss? I-I didn’t notice you!
CHLOE: What are you doing in the corner there? Is that a sleeping bag…?

ECHOSS: Yes, one of the ones I made the other night.
ECHOSS: Surprisingly comfortable, not quite what I'm used to but...
ECHOSS: And it is quietest down here.
ECHOSS: Since this is where the focal point of my consciousness is aimed I need to sleep here on Sussui some more to... Get my sleep catch-up I suppose.

CHLOE: Oh, okay.

CHLOE: W-Wait, why though?
CHLOE: The corner, s-specifically! We have more bedrooms, don’t we?
CHLOE: Worst comes to worst, you could steal mine… again, and I can sleep on the couch.
CHLOE: The couch is basically my second home at this point.

ECHOSS: We do not, unfortunately.
ECHOSS: Every bed except a few in the upstairs barracks has been claimed.

CHLOE: …We don’t?

Echoss smiles softly and chuckles.

ECHOSS: We do not.
ECHOSS: The cost of setting up your home base as an impromptu refugee facility I'm afraid.
ECHOSS: I could in theory simply sleep in the upstairs barracks made earlier, but...
ECHOSS: I am admittedly more concerned about noise than physical comfort in this matter.
ECHOSS: Most nocturnal happenings are a floor or two away, down here.

CHLOE: A-Ah, I see! It is pretty quiet down here…
CHLOE: Once, on a school field trip, I had to bunk in a cabin with a lot of other girls.
CHLOE: Complete anarchy. Especially since one of them was Nia. I-I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed s-such…
CHLOE: B-But, nevermind that! If you really need the power to recharge in peace, you can settle into my room. I can sleep upstairs, it’ll be fine!

Echoss winces.

ECHOSS: I would... Rather not.
ECHOSS: I've already caused you a significant amount of distress through the past two days due to my poor decisions.
ECHOSS: I would rather not push you out of your own bed again on top of it.
ECHOSS: I would also prefer to not sleep on other people's furniture again.
ECHOSS: The first time went bad enough.

CHLOE: I-I mean, you haven’t caused me that much pain…
CHLOE: Pain’s pretty relative nowadays, given that I’ve… y’know, perished.
CHLOE: But… if you insist, I guess you can have the corner.
CHLOE: Maybe you could take the corner of my room, though? I don’t snore! M-Much!

ECHOSS: That... That would work.
ECHOSS: If I get too loud feel free to... Hm.
ECHOSS: I suppose cover me with the fire proof silk we have in the inventory until it's muffled enough to sleep again.
ECHOSS: I don't think I'll explode but there is a chance I might singe anything I'm in contact with if it's vulnerable to such

CHLOE: I-Is… exploding a normal thing for you?

Echoss pulls himself out of the sleeping bag and picks it up before walking over to Chloe.

ECHOSS: No, otherwise Terrence would have requested a more... insulated sleeping spot for me earlier.
ECHOSS: Generally my sleeping arrangements are... unusual however.
ECHOSS: I still shouldn't be a danger, or I would be setting up for the night elsewhere.

CHLOE: Um, alright!
CHLOE: A-Anyway, if we’re gonna do this… mind picking the lock to my room, or something?
CHLOE: I think Chaos must’ve locked it as a prank or something.

Echoss frowns and rattles the doorknob. After a moment he pulls out a lockpick and opens the door. There is another door behind it. He blinks, and tries to open it. Locked. He picks the lock and opens it. Another door. Echoss stares at the third door for a moment, and then unscrews the hinges. The entire thing falls over like a cardboard cutout onto the floor, revealing the actual door to Chloe's room.

Which is also locked.

CHLOE: A-Are… are we sure this is my room?
CHLOE: The door wasn’t like this b-before, I swear!

ECHOSS: No it's your room.
None of the bedrooms in this hall had locks this morning. At least not key locks.

Echoss mutters some very unflattering things about Chaos as he picks the lock again. Thankfully, this time the door opens to Chloe's room. Echoss proceeds to run headlong into the plastic wrap stretched across the doorframe. Chaos walks down the hall in a terrifyingly normal fashion.

CHAOS: eyo why are you-
CHAOS: hold on one se[c]ond

CHAOS: eyo why are you breaking in[t]o marron’s room
CHAOS: i giftwrapped her room be[c]ause i ins[t]alled a wi[c]ked swee[t] bunk bed in [t]here

CHLOE: U-Um, how do I break this to you…
ECHOSS: Chaos I am going to buy your mindscape from the temmies just so that you can't buy it back.
CHAOS: hey why are you mad a[t] me
CHAOS: [t]his was a funni prank [t]ha[t] wasn’[t] dire[c][t]ed a[t] you
CHAOS: plus you don’[t] wanna ge[t] in[t]o nego[t]ia[t]ions wi[t]h [t]he [t]emmies man
CHAOS: [t]hey’ve heard abou[t] [t]he e[c]ho [c]oali[t]ion and i’m nine[t]y per[c]en[t] sure [t]hey already have a plan [t]o buy [t]he whole [t]hing

ECHOSS: Then I'm sure they won't mind a real estate trade to open relationships.
CHAOS: you don’[t] unders[t]and boi
CHAOS: you’re playing a dangerous game-

CHLOE: chaos
CHLOE: chaos this is my room

CHAOS: a

Chaos stands still for a few moments before rather suddenly blinking out of existence, along with a variety of traps that he had set up in the room. The bunk bed however, remains. Upstairs, Marron shrieks to discover that a machine has spontaneously appeared above her, and is assaulting her with silly string at rates never before seen.
MARRON: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

Echoss slowly pulls himself off the floor and picks up the sleeping bag.

ECHOSS: ...I am checking the bunk bed for traps first.

Echoss's investigation quickly clears the bed as legit, and so the sleeping bag is quickly stowed away again. Though, he really can’t help but notice that this room is hardly tall enough for a bunk bed. Fitting up there might be a little bit of a tight squeeze. Oh well, though. Chloe breathes a sigh of relief. Normalcy has returned to her life. She settles into her room, sitting down on the bottom bunk. She pulls her gigantic burrito pillow in close, giving it a hug.

CHLOE: Ahhhh…
CHLOE: Home sweet home.
CHLOE: Or well, it’s not really “home”, but it’s pretty cozy nonetheless!
CHLOE: Free of Iti, crazy Chairians, and those weird cult guys!

Echoss nods and shudders, still trying to figure out how to acceptably arrange things without moving the ceiling higher or top bunk lower.

ECHOSS: Indeed.
ECHOSS: As much as going adventuring again has been nice, I have had quite enough of cults in my admittedly long lifetime.
ECHOSS: If we don't see another rose cultist again it will be too soon.

CHLOE: Yeah…
CHLOE: W-Wait, do you have some experience with cults?
CHLOE: Earth has like, a couple cults, but most of them aren’t trying to end the world. In fact, some of them are pretty pleasant! Nia tried to join one, though that was the school occult club. Probably doesn’t count.
CHLOE: But… well, what have you dealt with?

Echoss is quiet for a moment.

ECHOSS: I am... Not sure it's suitable for right before bed.
ECHOSS: A lot however. The Rose Cult is...
ECHOSS: Another in a long line of the worst kind of "ordinary" evils.

CHLOE: W-Well… I-I’m sure I’ll be fine!
CHLOE: I’ve seen some pretty scary s-stuff as of late! Stuff t-that’s… definitely not appropriate for people my age!
CHLOE: L-Like, seriously… I’m gonna have a hard time sleeping at some point.

ECHOSS: Hah... I suppose that's fair...
ECHOSS: You recall how I told you about... My past, earlier today, yes?
ECHOSS: Besides the inevitable crop of ill actors with enough power to form such organizations around themselves and too little sense to steer clear of the Collective...
ECHOSS: I have something of... An unpleasant personal connection to them sometimes...

CHLOE: If I recall, you were like… the demon of Greed?
ECHOSS: Yes.
ECHOSS: And some people just seem to love their demon worship...
ECHOSS: I have... Had more than enough observing crackdown teams open up a barricaded building to see my face above whatever despicable atrocities they were commiting...
ECHOSS: Madmen and those looking for easy pickings, hurting innocent people "in my name". It's bad enough without them spitting my past back in my face.
ECHOSS: It's bad enough without...

Echoss goes quiet again.

CHLOE: A-Ah geez…
CHLOE: K-Kinda reminds me of this story I read one time, b-but… that’s neither here nor there, I’d think.
CHLOE: Why would t-they do this, though? There are very real demons and entities that could give them power, as I’ve learned over the past week.
CHLOE: Why not… praise someone who wants to be praised in such a way? A proper evil god, and not a proper, kind guy?
CHLOE: Actually, maybe that’d make your cult more likely to get a boon that wouldn’t backfire on them…

ECHOSS: I don't know.
ECHOSS: I would assume it has something to do with Greed itself...
ECHOSS: The only time they ever seem to know anything it is generally aimed at me in some way.
ECHOSS: As a front, a jailer, a vector...
CHLOE: A front? Like, are they saying that you’re not actually… well, you?

ECHOSS: Yes. They get this lovely idea that I am physically barring "their lord" from entrance into reality.
ECHOSS: And then they go after people they think are important to me.

CHLOE: H-How frustrating…
CHLOE: Why can’t they just, get it into their heads that far as greed demons go, you’re pretty reasonable?
CHLOE: Or why can’t they just praise something else? Like… the Chaos Butterfly?
CHLOE: Sure, the Chaos Butterfly’s really not a great entity to praise, but at least it seems to give its followers blessings, and doesn’t actively despise them!

ECHOSS: If I knew that I could get rid of the problem.
ECHOSS: One day, hopefully...

There is a tapping sound from above the bed, then a soft "vworp". Chloe hops out from her own bed, peeking over onto Echoss’s bunk.

CHLOE: …”Vworp?”

The ceiling above Echoss's bunk appears to have been stretched upwards another foot, like pressing in on a trampoline. Faint glowing letters shine around the edges of the lip.

CHLOE: Eh? How’d you do that?
CHLOE: This room isn’t that deep underground. You probably should’ve broken to the surface or something…

ECHOSS: I've made the space above the bunk larger.

Chloe notices that Echoss is about a foot lower below the upper bunks railing than he should be.

[CHLOE: i’m just
CHLOE: not gonna question it.

Chloe pops back down a floor, to where the geometry seems to be normal enough. She shudders. Time and space were not meant to be altered in this way. Though, there is one more question on her mind…

[CHLOE: Oh yeah. I remember that you wanted to talk to my brother?
CHLOE: What for, may I ask? D-Did… he do something wrong? B-Besides kidnap Nia?

ECHOSS: Well technically yes but that was not what I wanted to talk to him about.
ECHOSS: He's currently the only person who has the voidic coordinates for Earth B.
ECHOSS: I thought that... Well, perhaps in addition to having access to a lab that is not in flagrant violation of local zoning laws...
ECHOSS: He might be willing to give you the chance to see some of the rest of us again once it's all over?
ECHOSS: I know my way to Sussui from the Collective, and he knows the way from Sussui to Earth...

CHLOE: You… don’t have the coordinates of Earth?
CHLOE: Wasn’t there like, a whole Godmodding War though? I thought for sure that everyone who’s anyone had the coordinates for Earth at this point…
CHLOE: But… yeah! I’ll make him do it, if it means I can stay in touch with the rest of you!~

Chloe gives Echoss an innocent smile that also screams “I will commit incredible violence if required to get this to happen.”

ECHOSS: Heh...
ECHOSS: There are... Actually a very large number of reasons nobody has found Earth.
ECHOSS: There haven't been regular extrauniversal invasions since then now has there?
ECHOSS: And there is the exceptionally massive temporal disconnect and...

Echoss stops himself.

ECHOSS: ...Thank you Chloe.
ECHOSS: We will talk with him tomorrow then.

CHLOE: Alright!
CHLOE: In the meantime though, I’ve gotta get going!
CHLOE: I actually came here just to rest up a little before the big game!
CHLOE: I’m gonna play Pathfinder with Asha and Marron. It’ll be pretty relaxing, I hope.
CHLOE: Plus, I think Asha would appreciate this big ol’ burrito pillow.

Chloe holds up the burrito pillow. It is glorious. The one thing every man or woman aspires to have. The biggest, comfiest burrito.

ECHOSS: That sounds quite nice.
ECHOSS: I hope you enjoy yourself, I will likely be asleep when you return.
ECHOSS: Goodnight Chloe.

CHLOE: Goodnight! Sleep tight!

Chloe, burrito pillow in hand, begins her journey back upstairs. She is blissfully unaware of the future that awaits her- a future with far too many Tabletopians. As for Echoss, he is already fast asleep by the time the gunfire begins. And in contrast to his worries, is likely the only one who manages to sleep through it.

Maple + Eren

Hours before the siege on the house, a crimson-leaved Chairian hikes up a staircase, an incredible payload on her back. While Maple would pride herself on her agility and heroism, carrying an entire robot up a flight of stairs is proving to be a bit much, even for Sussui’s strongest heroine.

MAPLE: O-Okay… almost… there…

Once she’s up the last step, she’s immediately through the door across from her, barging into the house’s guest room. With a few hurried, dizzy steps, she scrambles across the room and plops Eren onto the bed. Hopefully, Venia would be fine with a few oil stains on the sheets, or whatever it was that Eren bled. Maple slumps against the side of the bed, resting her head against the cushy mattress.

MAPLE: W-Whew! Safe now…
MAPLE: Eren, how’re you holding up?

EREN: I'm doing okay.
EREN: Are you alright Maple? You seem really exhausted.

MAPLE: Yeah, I-I’m fine! Just… been a long day!
MAPLE: Plus, has anyone told you you’re kinda heavy? O-Or… maybe I’m just a tad frailer than I’d like to admit, eheheh…

Eren opens his mouth, but a different voice comes out than his own.

JERICO: This chassis was not designed to be carried.
JERICO: Under normal circumstances this form can propel itself at arbitrarily high speeds for any distance.

JACOB: Hey hold on we need to actually introduce ourselves before we interrupt the conversation.
EREN: I would admittedly prefer if you guys didn't interrupt me in the first place.
JACOB: Sorry we've been locked up all week and the setup you normally use was thymefried.
JACOB: Been going a bit stir crazy with the only company being the factory default psycho.

JERICO: Apologies.
EREN: And uh... Yeah. I know I'm heavy. It's useful in a fight, so the body is pretty hefty.
EREN: Normally I can offset that with some of my powers but... The system in question I use for it really pisses the thymefield off so it's been turned off since I landed on Sussui.

Maple counts on her fingers. One. Two. Three. Three different voices. Does this mean she’s saved three times the people? She’ll need to get back to herself on that one.

MAPLE: So, uh… what’s up with you?
MAPLE: The three of you? One of you?
MAPLE: I don’t really know how to refer to you at the moment…
MAPLE: Or is there four of you, if we include the personality that took over when you… y’know. The Nightmare and all.
MAPLE: Also, sorry for calling you heavy. It’s just the truth!

EREN: Ah, yeah.
EREN: This might be better explained by them. My... memories are still fuzzy on the details.

JERICO: Hello. I am AI designation Justified Eradication of Radical Insurgent Combat Operatives, short form: JERICO.
JACOB: And I'm JACOB, which is also an acronym but I'm not a stickler for protocol so I won't waste your time with it.
JACOB: The two of us are AIs that, along with ol' Baseline, were dormant inside this chassis when Eren was put into it.

MAPLE: Ah! So Eren’s an AI too, right?
MAPLE: I’ve never really seen many AI’s myself, but you all seem pretty person-like to me!

JERICO: Negative, Eren is... a special case.
JACOB: We don't know what his deal is really, but our... 'guide' I guess did something to interface his soul directly into the machine.
JACOB: The rest of us could be uploaded to another machine pretty easily, provided someone could figure out the file formatting for our personality files well enough for us.
JACOB: But for all intents and purposes, it's his body, in a metaphysical sense.
JACOB: Say you used a high power rez spell to bring us back, right? Me and JERICO, and even Baseline would get little personality chips or cores unless you included extra for the bodies beyond normal.
JACOB: Eren would just get a copy of what we're using right now.

A soul robot? Seems convoluted to Maple, but okay. But first, her manners!

MAPLE: Ah, nice to meet the both of you! I’m not sure how acquainted you are with me, since you’re in Eren and all…
MAPLE: But I’m Maple Acer! Heroine extraordinaire!~

MAPLE: So… Eren is a soul, put inside of a robot body?
MAPLE: I’ve heard of souls being put into pieces of equipment, like through what the Rose Cult has done… but this seems pretty different!
MAPLE: Though… why go through the trouble? Seems pretty unethical if you ask me!
MAPLE: And like, if your people can make super fancy Justified Eradication of… Really Impolite… Something Or The Others, why put an Eren in a robot?
MAPLE: And who did, anyway?

EREN: It's... a bit more complicated than that.
EREN: All four personalities in this machine were put in by different people.
EREN: Baseline, the jerk that was evicted earlier today... well he's the baseline. The personality that gets put into Pionobot before they get shipped out to be roaming unnatural disasters.
EREN: I think. Do I have that right?

JERICO: Indeed.
MAPLE: Who’s in the market for these “baselines”, anyway?
MAPLE: Like, who’d buy a Pionobot if they’d just go mad and kill everyone?
MAPLE: …No offense to you guys, of course.

JACOB: Nobody they are literally just a hail mary insult against the original Piono by a petty and spiteful demigod.
JERICO: Ahem.
JERICO: I was custom created to be put into the Pionobot, based on some sort of algorithm system within the chassis' database itself.
JERICO: According to what I was told upon awakening, they found the chassis damaged and deactivated floating in the Void.
JERICO: The empire in question had come under assault of a sort of... terrorism collective. Comprised of a variety of criminal conglomerates whose alliance seems quite contrived in retrospect.
JERICO: Regardless of how it started, it ended swiftly. My creators are no longer around, as shortly after my awakening and briefing, Baseline awoke and took back control.
JERICO: While I suppose my mission was technically fulfilled, it took far too long for me to be able to subdue Baseline again, which I was only able to do by shutting the entire body down a second time.

MAPLE: No longer around, as in like… dead? Or like, somewhere else entirely?
JERICO: The former.
JERICO: Most people are not equipped to deal with their homeworld being engulfed in a kaleidoscopic firestorm.

JACOB: My story is a little less catastrophic fortunately. The civilization that used me had something of an ongoing problem with sapient AIs going crazy.
JACOB: They weren't willing to just kill people, though, even if they weren't organic, so after isolating the issue the JACOB line was created.
JACOB: Me and my brothers were outfitted into a variety of different bodies to tackle, contain, and restore to sanity the various enclaves of 'mavericks'.
JACOB: My job was specially assigned. Having retrieved a derelict chassis of one of the most powerful robotic forces ever built, my job was to be to tackle a collection of high power military droids that had been compromised all at once.
JACOB: I got lucky, JERICO woke up before Baseline did. I wasn't able to fully complete my mission before we had to shut back down to avert Baseline's rampage...
JACOB: But I'm confident that things turned out alright.
JACOB: Between then and Eren was... more rocky though.
JACOB: To summarize a lot of different unpleasant events; multiple people decided to try and weaponize the Pionobot just as... well, a weapon of mass destruction.
JACOB: Sometimes me and JERICO woke up quickly enough to mitigate damages...
JACOB: But not every time.

JERICO: According to Eren's caretaker, when they located the chassis it was in the heart of ruins so old even the center had... 'fossilized' so to speak.
MAPLE: That’s… awful.
MAPLE: How… how long have you guys been around, anyway? How long have you had to deal with the Baseline?

JACOB: A long time.
JERICO: Personal time is difficult to determine. The internal clock continues functioning even during dormancy and displays a number upwards of ten million years.
JERICO: Almost all of that time was spent inactive, floating derelict in the Void.

JACOB: For actual time awake before Eren's arrival I would give it just a few months. There were a lot of 'episodes' in various forms...
JACOB: But they generally didn't last longer than a few days apiece, even at their absolute longest.

Maple pauses.

MAPLE: T-TEN MILLION YEARS?
MAPLE: Y-You… sure that clock’s not defective?
MAPLE: Because that’s… just… wow.
MAPLE: How are you even moderately functional at this point? Like, even my equipment begins to break down after a short time of repeated use. For something like you to survive… that’s incredible!

EREN: You could literally throw us into the core of a star and it wouldn't even scratch my paint. We would last longer than the star.
EREN: And on top of that I have a regenerative factor strong enough that when Baseline decided to start ignoring safety features it was outpacing the thymefield's damage to me as long as he wasn't using the weaponry.
EREN: Pionobots don't break down unless something else kills them.
EREN: Which brings us to me.
EREN: So... we don't... exactly know what my deal is.
EREN: My... 'caretaker' implies more responsibility than he has I suppose, but he felt responsible for me for some reason, we call him Ben.
EREN: He says he found my soul drifting in the timestream near the events of the second godmodding war. Horrifically mangled, slowly disintegrating.
EREN: He had recently acquired the Pionobot chassis, and didn't know it still had AIs in it.
EREN: One of the base artifacts Pionobots come equipped with has... very heavy control over souls. Combined with the natural repair systems and a bit of his own powers to grease the wheels...
EREN: I wake up as a restored Pionobot, only a few shreds of memory from before, but otherwise alive and okay.

MAPLE: Huh…
MAPLE: Wonder what happened to you for your soul to be like that?
MAPLE: And… well, what was Ben’s big idea, putting you into the body of a killing machine with multiple active AI’s in it?

JACOB: To be fair to Ben, there is not a whole lot you can do to stop let alone reverse advanced soulfray.
JACOB: It's a miracle that Eren survived even with what he did.
JACOB: Also none of us even started waking up until after Eren did, and why would he even check?
JACOB: What kind of absurd series of events shuts down a Pionobot without coring its central AI?

EREN: Ben's a kinda shady guy though.
EREN: We don't know a lot about him. He knows something about my past, he feels guilty about whatever happened to me for some reason but refuses to talk about any of it.
EREN: Also he might be a low rank godmodder but tries really really hard to hide it.
EREN: But also he was helping us get rid of Baseline and get me back on my feet until we found someplace safe for me to stay so...
EREN: My feelings are mixed. Like with a distant and unhelpful but not really mean parent.

The events of the battle a few hours ago still shine brightly in Maple’s mind. Though, she can’t help but wonder… did they really beat up Baseline?

MAPLE: Speaking of Baseline… did we get rid of him? Once and for all?
MAPLE: Back up on the Dream of Unity, when he attacked us… is he gone now?
MAPLE: Are you three safe?

JACOB: Dead. Destroyed. Gone for good and good riddance.
JERICO: The mixed power of the Thymefield and the purge we were hit with completely ejected the piece of memory storage where he was housed.
JERICO: Considering the main portion of that piece disintegrated into thymesmoke entirely while still within clear view, it would take contrived coincidence on the order of divine intervention for him to have survived.
JERICO: And he certainly isn't in here with us anymore.

EREN: Thank god for that, just having him awake felt like having a headache at all times even when I couldn't hear him properly because of the processing damage when we landed.

Maple breathes a sigh of relief.

MAPLE: Thank Helix that he’s gone!
MAPLE: Though, now that Baseline’s gone… what do you wanna do?
MAPLE: Like, you have all this new freedom now since you don’t need to babysit a crazy deadly child!
MAPLE: Though, I know the first thing we should do!

EREN: What's that?
MAPLE: We’re gonna go out for lunch! Or dinner! When the Sphere’s gone!
MAPLE: It’ll be a delightful evening!
MAPLE: How about it?

EREN: I, uh, yeah!
EREN: Though actually we do have something to do first, if I can.
EREN: Now that Baseline's gone and I don't need help keeping him from trying to disable my internal systems out of spite during the day...
EREN: We can finally get JERICO and JACOB their own bodies.
EREN: ...Assuming there's someone who can do that.

JERICO: Recommendation: Echoss seems both capable and willing to do such. Or at least has people to do it for him.
JERICO: And I would expect he intends to keep contacts on Sussui. Solves our problem without canceling your date.

MAPLE: Ooh, yeah! He’s probably smart enough to help with that!
MAPLE: Though, I think getting you guys your own bodies will probably need to wait until the Sphere’s gone.
MAPLE: Don’t want the Thymefield to mess with your hardware any further, right?

JACOB: Absolutely, but that's only a day away now.
JACOB: As long as getting us out of Eren's head doesn't take too long it still shouldn't make things too hard right?
JACOB: Or, I hope.
JACOB: Every time we hear about that Collective place it seems kind of insane so I'm hoping they know what they're doing when it comes to robotics.

EREN: That's for tomorrow though.
EREN: Everyone else needs to sleep, and we're not going anywhere until the Sphere goes down anyways. One of my knees is still smashed and it's not going to be fixed while the thymefield is up.

MAPLE: Ooh, right…
MAPLE: Want me to work on it? If you walk me through it, I should be able to fix it myself.
MAPLE: Probably. You can trust me!

Eren pulls off part of a tattered and scorched pantleg. Underneath it... is carnage. Red pulsing tubes of light pour purple smoke into the air, intricately complex arrangements of machinery and things not quite resembling wires are mashed together and severed. Not helping matters is that the entire front part of the knee seems to have been shattered and jammed through the back.

EREN: ...No offense but I don't think there's a whole lot you can do about this right now.
EREN: If I have to get up I can just... pull a sword out of the inventory and use it as a crutch or something.

MAPLE: Yeah. I… don’t know what I’m looking at!
MAPLE: Maybe we should just like, bring you to Echoss ahead of schedule?
MAPLE: Or maybe like, we can… make you a cool wheelchair! One with rockets and stuff, so you can navigate stairs?
MAPLE: Then again, this’ll just be for another day, so… hmm.

MAPLE: …But, anyway.
MAPLE: I’m gonna do a few scouting runs around the house. Since we have all the Glyphs, odds are there might be a few eyes on us.
MAPLE: Can I get you anything before I go?
MAPLE: …Want a souvenir?

EREN: Heheh I think that I'll have plenty of better opportunities to get an autograph after tomorrow.
EREN: Feel free to come back up here if there's no free beds by the way. There are going to be a lot of people staying here tonight.
EREN: I don't do a whole lot of 'sleeping', admittedly.

MAPLE: Heheh, alright!
MAPLE: Anyway, stay safe! If you need me, don’t hesitate to call!
MAPLE: …Or, uh, call Chloe. I won’t be here for a bit. Scouting. Y’know.
MAPLE: Chloe’s a dear. She’ll help you!
MAPLE: See you!~

EREN: See you soon!

Maple flings open a nearby window, leaping out with a spiral. A burst of wind follows her as she trails into the sky, beginning her excursion into the frigid night.

JACOB: Can't believe it's been less than a week from home and you've already got a love interest.

Eren makes a noise generally more associated with having vocal cords than a voicebox, but doesn't give a proper response. The night will be exciting, but fortunately not so exciting that Eren's current deficiency of knees causes him problems.

not retroactive RP:
Echoss wakes for the new day

A new day has dawned... And for the first time since he arrived on Sussui, Echoss is one of the last ones up. There seems to be a bit of a change to him, his stride is a bit straighter, today's clothes are clean and crisp. Nothing hugely noticeable, but it makes a difference to him.

Echoss arrives in the kitchen to find only one person there. And hasty repair work from last night's siege.

Adria was busy getting some breakfast for herself. A very simple fried egg meal. Since she had that hangover last night, she wasn’t in the mood for anything the others had made. She seems almost entirely focused on the one task, not noticing Echoss arriving in the kitchen.

ECHOSS: Good morning Miss Adria.
ECHOSS: Did... I miss something important last night?

Adria perks up and glances behind her briefly. She swiftly returns to focusing on the meal, though she still talks.

ADRIA: Oh, good morning, Echoss!
ADRIA: We… had to drive off some Tabletopians last night.
ADRIA: It was a bit messy, and the front door was blasted clean off, but we repelled them.

ECHOSS: ...It seems I was more worried about my sleep being disrupted than I should have been, if I slept through that.
ECHOSS: No one was permanently hurt, I hope?

Echoss makes his way to the main spread of prepared food, though only takes a little bit of the bread.

ADRIA: No, thankfully. Everyone was tended to quickly.
ADRIA: …Or, well, I assume. The house is empty, so most likely everyone’s up and running.
ADRIA: I had… technically a bit too much candy corn liquor during the fight and… passed out after.

ECHOSS: It does pack quite a punch.
ECHOSS: Something of a favorite back home for some.
ECHOSS: How is your head?

Adria rubs her head, still focused on the cooking.

ADRIA: When I woke up it was pounding. I never had a hangover that bad.
ADRIA: …Probably because I made the high last way longer than I reasonably should have.
ADRIA: Not my wisest decision, really.
ADRIA: After some coffee, some magic from Omorika, and a few minutes of speeding the hangover along, I’m feeling a lot better.

ECHOSS: That's good then.
ECHOSS: Ah, Miss Adria I do have a question for you.
ECHOSS: Today is likely to be busy and afterwards...
ECHOSS: Regardless I figured asking while there's time is preferable.
ECHOSS: You know your way home from Sussui, yes? Do you think your homeworld would be open to visitors from the Echo Collective?

Adria tilts her head as she slides the finished eggs onto a plate. She walks over and sits nearby.

ADRIA: I’m… hm, well, I’m certainly not the best person to ask…
ADRIA: We’ve traditionally been pretty isolated from everyone else, so…
ADRIA: …I don’t know.

ECHOSS: Hmm... I suppose that's fair.
ECHOSS: Would it be alright to ask for coordinates to try and make contact once this is all done with?
ECHOSS: What little I know of your home has me quite intrigued, and new friends and contacts is hardly a bad thing regardless.

ADRIA: …Well, it couldn’t hurt. You’d be able to get in contact with someone who knows what’s what, at least.
ADRIA: Let’s see…

Adria brings up a hardlight display in front of her and pokes a few things. From there, the planet’s coordinates are shown right there on the screen. Although, considering that it’s a rogue planet being shown, the coordinates are changing pretty much constantly.

ADRIA: You can see why we’re so isolated.
ADRIA: Lucky for you, it’s a program developed to run all the calculations under the hood, so finding it is really easy once you have it.
ADRIA: Of course, we almost never give it out to outsiders. But… I think I’ll make an exception.

She plugs some sort of USB stick into the projector and starts uploading the program to it. Echoss nods.

ECHOSS: Thank you. Hopefully my assistance with the malice crystal will work as an adequate letter of recommendation.
ECHOSS: On that note, there's been progress in figuring out what it is.
ECHOSS: It's omniadaptive, which is likely how it broke out when it got ahold of you in the first place, so progress has been slow.
ECHOSS: You don't mess around with creatures that can develop resistance to esoteric energy types in real time.
ECHOSS: I have a few things I need to do before I leave the house, would you like me to retrieve and give you the current data on the crystal while I'm still here?

Adria rubs the scar on her forehead and shivers.

ADRIA: T-that… explains a lot.
ADRIA: Yes, please patch the data to me. I-it’d help with my report later.
ADRIA: T-there’s no way we’re researching that stuff anymore. Or, anything like that, even.
ADRIA: Our containment procedures are too one-note at the moment.

ECHOSS: Likely for the best.
ECHOSS: Eliminating these sorts of things is one matter but containment is quite another, more dangerous kettle of fish.
ECHOSS: I will bring you a device with the data on my way out of the house then.
ECHOSS: Is there anything else I can help with before I begin my errands?

ADRIA: One moment, the program’s almost done uploading…

Adria waits a few more seconds. Once she confirms that the program has been uploaded, she unplugs the stick and hands it to Echoss. She also hands one of her business cards to Echoss, similar to the one Mari received. Echoss nods, tucking them both away into a pocket.

ADRIA: There we go, all ready. And a business card, too, in case you want to contact me later.
ADRIA: Other than that… mm, I don’t believe there’s anything else.

ECHOSS: Very well then, I'll be back with the data slate in just a few minutes.
ECHOSS: Hopefully today goes well.

And so the day begins, Echoss gathers his equipment, sends his gifts from Adria through to the Collective in exchange for the crystal data which is given to her.
It is the final day.

Echoss interrupts a murder
A swarm of golden butterflies soars across the sky towards Seatopolis, most of it coalescing outside the gates into one Echoss Ravenstar.
A number of other butterflies scatter in through the city to investigate places where things might need to be handled. One of the butterflies casts a quick-swapped Cure onto the Chairian who got run over close to the spire, it might not get them back up but it means any injuries will likely be stabilized until they can be tended to more directly.

Echoss himself comes across the confrontation with Sakura.
...Can I ask what exactly is going on here?

Echoss observes a duel
A butterfly settles down above the arena where the duel with droplet is taking place. Echoss needs to talk with Droplet, but interrupting the match seems ill advised. And very, incredibly rude.

Echoss joins the YV battle!
Spawn: Cat familiar spawns with me for 30 MP, chimera used to swap out Nuzzle for Hopeful Glow
Move to I15, cat moves to H15
Shared Perspective Eagle Eye on myself and Acacia, granting both of us Focused6 and myself Empowered6
Alter Reality empowered into enlightened
Warp Ring is cast on Rad Sphere 1, chucking it full range southeast. (made possible by launch core)
Cat casts Hopeful Glow (enlightened) on Acacia
Resourceful Satchel upticks Scavenge counter
Echoss then chugs both of his resourceful satchel energy drinks, restoring his MP to full.

SCALTA: Most interesting. It seems that the people of LOCAA are naturally attuned to magic. Mankind is much less so, and unless they are kin to the children of Arduos humans are unable to wield magic without tools. Magic can best be compared to a sort of energy that can only be harnessed through special technology. Mana is funneled into runes and crystals to create spells, gadgets, and all sorts of wonderful things. About 60 years or so ago the Great Demon War forced us to rapidly accelerate their level of technology.
Mankind seems to be adapting well.
SCALTA:To move to the most pressing topic, my fellow deity Crya has promised the priestess Taeda an exchange of sorts. Culture, technology, those such things. I thank you for the information you have given, and once the threat to reality no longer exists, I harbor excitement towards what you can show mankind, and possibly if our systems of mana are compatible. There is great wonder to be held in this unknown, and so many more pages to be filled.

Asha decides to see Cypress about an issue he may be able to help with. He seems a bit busy, so he tries to grab him at some point in the immediate timeline when he's free.

"Hiya, Cypress!" She waves in a friendly manner as she approaches. "I don't think we've been properly introduced, but I've heard a lot about you! From what I've heard... you have a specialty in modifications and bionics, right?"

She holds up her left arm. It's a somewhat strange sight. The hand looks immaculately made, artisnal even, with decorative grooves and pointed fingers- barely a scratch on it. The same cannot be said for the rest of the construction. Her forearm is simply two metal rods connecting the hand to her elbow joint, with wires strung between the two. If not for the damage it had suffered in Zone 3, her forearm would look pretty sturdy in comparsion; however, the panel protecting her "blood regulator" has since been caved in, rendering it inaccessible. Fortunately, she has no need for that now that her blood has been returned to normal.

"I was wondering if you could take a look at my arm for me, and maybe provide some improvements? In return... well, I guess you can check out my hand! I didn't make it myself, so it's 100% bona fide alien tech. Or uh, whatever-lived-on-my-planet tech. Either way, there's probably a lot to discover about it if you're interested. What do you say?"

~~~~~
Turn order for this round!
Ette
Bergilmir
Bauhaus
Asha
Acacia
Echoss
Remiel
Lato (Move + Item Action)
Star
Lato (Action)
Irongutta
Cypress
- Asha switches to Slash Stance (+10 SP)!
- Bone Hurting Juice on the Throne to apply Aching(10, 3)
- Always Watching (5 MP) to apply (Ensnared4, 2)
- Deepen Cut (Rend Heaven; Ensnared gets +1 intensity)
- (Stabpierce4, 2) from Identify Weakpoint.
- Always Watching (again!) to apply (Unlucky10, 2) for 5 MP.
- Infinite Infection, spreading the throne's various debuffs to YV and TGuardian2.
- Timestop Hat, +50% DGE and CNT.
- Retreat to O10.
- Slash Stance activates, dealing 40% of the HP damage she dealt again as Direct Damage.
- +8 HP and +4 MP with Soul Hauler.
---
NPCs!
Ette will waddle over to I11, use a Spiteful Serum on Irongutta, Safety on Bauhaus, and self-casts Curaga. She then picks up Rhino Skin!
Cypress will move to H17 and use Manashock on YV. Due to moving less than 3 tiles, it has Unavoidable and +10 CRT.
Once that happens, Star flies to S13 and throws an Infinidagger at the Dream Zweet. BATTLES - YUNG VENUZ
Star moves to G4, Leyline Strides to F20, and casts Purify on Lato. They then self-apply an Infinisyringe.
BATTLE RP - DROPLET
Star shakes their head at Droplet's taunt.
STAR: The numbers they cannot triumph over brilliant Spherebreaker teamwork;
STAR: though we iti are many numerous we lack true bravery and companioningship...
STAR: But I have learned, these beautiful gold things~
STAR: ...Hello again Droplet
ZONE 6
Star approaches Maxim at the gates to the city.
STAR: ...I was dispatched to know you are Maxim The Eliti
STAR: do you wish to enter the chairian abode,?
Acacia should mutate Rhino Skin, then move to I16. She should use Gaiaflame to reduce her HP to get the fifth Overgrowth buff level, then Siege Spire the Throne again (take 23MP from Remiel). Wait for Piono to act, then Remiel will basicattack YV.
Zone 6
Calibri raises an eyebrow to the point where it physically detaches from his sprite and flies off into the upper atmosphere. There's a pause, in which he looks very silly with one missing eyebrow, then it pops back where it's meant to be without any warning.
"Stacking hotdogs on my head...? I'd say you'd be able to fit about 50 up there. 51 would be ridiculous."
Beat.
"Wait, why even stack hotdogs in the first place? You could just make a really big sign instead. Then you could sell the formerly-stacked hotdogs as regular produce."
The hotdog tower is probably a starkly contrasting background event to what Lato is doing, namely trying to mediate between two different groups without accidentally offending one or the other.
"I see, I see. Perhaps we can sort out some form of agreement here. Perhaps... I have an idea."
A pause. She indicates to the legionary.
"In my honest opinion, even if the rebels have undoubtedly killed many of your comrades, the iti can, will, and likely have already killed far many more. They are the bigger threat at present. Thus, I would ask of you to coordinate with the rebellion on this matter, both in terms of supply and in terms of their plans. I do not ask that you be comfortable with doing so, but if you distrust them as much as I think you do, would it not be better to have some level of insight and/or oversight regarding their operations?"
Then, to the rebel.
"As to the matter of what I can offer the rebellion from this deal... Well, the Spherebreakers have certainly accumulated a reasonable supply of hardware over their adventures here. Since I am affiliated with them, I may be able to requisition some copies of aforementioned hardware. Perhaps it would be best to arm up on an individual preference basis, but if that would take too long to arrange, I am sure mass acquisitions would not hurt..."
Then, she finally glances up from the clipboard, her eyes glancing between the legionnaire and the rebel.
"Are there any amendments anyone would like to make regarding that arrangement?"
Dropkick
"Those Chronoshades..."
Calibri's definitely thinking things up now. Is this his first time seeing those? It might be. Either way, he's furthering the development of his ideas.
Good thing he can also multitask the actual fighting part of the battle, moving to N16 and activating Fury on Star (then using Shared Rage to get his own copy of Empowered7). Then, given he has the MP to spare, he also bonus action Focus Energy's himself.
Dual instance - triangle
Lato winces when impacted forcefully by the crit toxic bow, though thankfully the shield lets her pull the arrow out and throw it aside. Still, now that's poison coursing through her system and a depleted shield to deal with. And, once the throne intervenes, the loss of her Artillery weapon mode.
"Hm. Inconvenient. You are making this more difficult than it needs to be."
Despite the several setbacks, she gathers herself and prepares to act.
Lato moves to J20 and sips on a Fizzy Beverage, taking her sweet time doing so. Then, once Star inevitably comes along and removes the downside of doing that, Lato then selfcasts Overload and summons a mirror image of herself on I21.
"Greetings."
"We meet again, compatriot mine."
The mirror image, affectionately known as Latwo, budges over to H22. She seems content to vibe.
"Their story has concluded for now. Currently, you follow mine."
With tensions rising, Auth walks between Sakura and the Evisceratior.
AUTH: Now, let's not fight. You're not children, I'm sure you're both better than this. Let's lay off the insults and the taunting, yes?
AUTH: Don't make me take your weapons away, I'm sure nobody would prefer to go unarmed right now.
Auth sighs loudly, with everything happening right now.
AUTH: You will notice that I specifically did not mention the morality or legitimacy of her actions, because it is irrelevant to the matter of ganging up on her as a group.
AUTH: As for what she did... you said she tried to steal from the treasury, and she tried to flee from here when things started to go badly.
AUTH: While I think attempting to flee is probably riskier than staying put, I honestly can't really blame her for doing that. She's basically a princess, as you've implied, and the people around royalty tend to keep them unaware of the actual situation outside their ivory tower.
AUTH: Easier for manipulation, I'm sure you probably understand. And things are definitely going badly for the current establishment. I wouldn't really hold trying to run away against her, many in her shoes probably would have ran sooner.
Auth glances at the pile of loot, and looks disdainfully at the theft from the pile. Regardless of who this belongs to, theft is bad.
AUTH: And you're absolutely, positively sure this isn't hers? I suppose one could cogently argue that anything Spark gave her of public funds isn't hers, regardless of how legitimate it is on paper, but... what you've said has a different connotation. One I'm sure needs not be stated.
AUTH: Who are you, exactly? You sound too well-informed to be nobody.
Auth thinks for a moment.
AUTH: I'm not exactly sure what to add about having rations diverted for her own purposes other than a general "Yes, that's bad". It shouldn't have happened, but it also shouldn't have been allowed to happen.
AUTH: I think as much blame lies with the ivory tower for enabling such behaviour as Sakura herself for engaging in it. So let's calm down, yes?
AUTH: Maybe we can talk this through and have everyone reflect on our actions.
Auth hopes that this will help defuse things and not agitate further into a full-blown battle. He really wants to go and help in the Church but this needs to be done and there's not many people capable of speech checks like he is.
Battle Action! Auth stays exactly where he is, and then applies Toxiveil to Venia.
Previous Day
"Venny's here?"
-later FOR REAL-
This day
-later and maybe-
It's Not Grima I Swear
Venia targets Eye1, the Left Eye, with three uses of Phantasmal Force, downing it through the 90 bonus SHP and giving Venia her special buffs.
Venia then shimmies over to Q15 with her actual action and pulls out Material Transfer, using Needle Conjuration to move the Needle over a tile just so it can hit the Right eye (Eye2), both with the Piercing Damage and the Healing, which also damages the Eye as it's undead. She retreats to R15 by virtue of Not-Grima not having ZoC.
Irongutta wheels around to L12, uses Together We Dance and chops Throne Guardian 1. Since this will down, he'll then move to M11 to hit Throne Guardian 2, and if this downs, move further to M10 to hit The Nuclear Throne itself!
Kalis2 moves to O20. One eye glows blue.
KALIS2: Hey Mari we've got a plan
KALIS2: We can get you in position but I need to throw you
KALIS2: Trust me it'll be safe I have 3 SPC
MARI: :mariwhat:
Without waiting for a further answer, Kalis2 casts Skeletal Toss, throwing Mari to U15.
Kalis1 moves to G17, casts Focus Energy on the Mercenary, and meditates.
