North of the Pass

"Actually, we won't be killing them," Venia says. "I have a method in play; as long as I can use the Purge on Yulania, I think I can force-scrub him of his corruption, along with anyone else who's hostile here. I think that'll return their memories... And it'll kill the Rose Cult more thoroughly than anything to expose it for the insanity it is."

"But first, these things."

Venia moves up to H30, and does her traditional Ordo spark from Vigil. Nia briefly steps in to gain her own Ordo via the Luminous Rose. Venia then uses Unexisting Force, gaining the Unrestrained Power buffs and firing twice onto Fell Beast 1 for damage. She gives Nia the Friendship Force stacks.

Then, she casts Incantation at G32, with Intellect 6. Between that and her Buff Level bonuses, this gives her 27 points. With this, she summons literally a giant pawn, IE the chess piece. Of course, thanks to Extension Of You, it now has all of Venia's buffs. (stats on the name)

She does not retreat, and hat-pings Fell Beast 2 to call it a day.

Maria

"I'mma do the card, I'm a good drawer person," Maria says. She pointedly turns her back to the conversation between Omorika and her dad. She begins, surprisingly steady of hand for someone so young-though not to point of true anomaly and simply to the point of youthful talent.

Her dad, of course, remains mostly polite and calm with Omorika, never truly raising his voice or temper. "I don't doubt your competence, and I'm planning on being very far from the blast radius, believe me. Fortunately, it doesn't go forwards in time. The trouble is... I believe Venia filled you in on the matter? Future? All that? It must sound absurd, but... Simplest put, Venia is not the first to arrive here in such a manner. Quite a few have. I believe at least... I don't have an exact number, it's at least in the hundreds now. To my knowledge all of them were fully aware of the full functions of the Sphere and had time to prepare accordingly. Now, I don't understand why they're not here right now, I know several scientists who are very interested in the answer to that. Moving on-Very few methods to determine the interior workings of the Sphere or observe events within it work within my power; all I have are a few little devices to tell me if they are alive or dead, and if the latter, how so."

"A few were mundane; bullet wounds, explosive, decapitation, impalement, immolation, poisoning, such. A few were more interesting; hangings, digestion, forced mental shutdown, rapid decay consistent with this 'Entropy' I hear of. But, the vast majority of the devices were destroyed in a mysterious glitch-inducing pulse of energy. What we can make of the entity within the Sphere in question is that it radiates this energy and very few other things on this planet share that particular signature. I do not believe they merely malfunctioned, so my only conclusion is that they all perished to the same entity. Presumably, the one in the Sphere. Goodness knows if this is because they didn't manage to collect the Glyphs in time, or if they died fighting it, but either way, given that very few died to anything else beforehand... It paints a picture and I don't like the idea of my daughter being here for it," Regalus says.

"You can see why I requested Venia did not come here at all now, I hope. Of course, I suppose I could theoretically escort her and you all out beforehand through the same methods I plan to leave, if you do not feel confident; given the nature of the event I have no reason to hold anything against you nor charge you for the service, it's simple goodwill. I have limited seating-possibly enough for all of you, though I regrettably cannot provide more. But then, Venia's too stubborn for her own good," Regalus says. "I doubt she'll take it even with my prodding... She's a thorough sort."

The intercom buzzes to life with Cypress's hurried message. (OK, this was a round ago but this isn't the most egregious malformation of time we've had, now is it?)

"I'd like to continue this, but I think one of your allies is in danger, so I shan't hold you any further. It was a pleasure talking to you, lady Omorika!"

Rosie

"Rodger. I'll just need some time to prepare and measure things out in the Duneyrr to see what fits and what doesn't," Venia says.

Venia inspects the Duneyrr's internals for the full list of damages and an approximation of how much Rosie's internal components will help in replacing the Duneyrr, as well as what else she might need.

BATTLES: AVIATION CHAMBER

The Reflector spawns at J11, moves to E6, uses Shields Holding on themselves (Divine Shield + 5 SHP), and casts Suffocating Hatred on D4 inflicting Taunt.
ZONE 5

"The Thaumaturge" smiles at Omorika's first question.

"THE THAUMATURGE": If you mean to insinuate that I am not a mere mimi(ry of one of the Refle(tor's many re(ent a(quaintan(es, you would be (orre(t.
"THE THAUMATURGE": I have known number six for a long time. In many ways, I am a part of them. As are all of you, though to a mu(h lesser extent.
"THE THAUMATURGE": But enough about me. Let us dis(uss your friend.

"The Thaumaturge" begins walking toward the Broke Room and gestures to Omorika, as an invitation to follow.

"THE THAUMATURGE": I am not fond, not fond of threats, Miss Omorika.
"THE THAUMATURGE": I have no desire to threaten you with physi(al violen(e should you do something rash, both as an ally and as a fellow s(holar.
"THE THAUMATURGE": However, let me make this (lear.
"THE THAUMATURGE": We are (urrently stepping into a politi(al minefield. One wrong move on either of our parts, and (hairians may die as a (onsequen(e.
"THE THAUMATURGE": As su(h, I will allow you to witness the Refle(tor's dis(overies on one (ondition.
"THE THAUMATURGE": Not a word of what you see within will leak to anyone. (ypress or (hi, Legion or Spherebreakers -- no one (an be trusted with this knowledge yet.
"THE THAUMATURGE": If you do not feel you are ready to bear that burden, then step away and I will (ontinue my investigations alone.
"THE THAUMATURGE": But if you wish to dis(over the truth... follow on.

If Omorika assents, "the Thaumaturge" climbs into a vent, like a perfectly normal person, and leads her to the sealed testing chamber. Maxim is also there.

"THE THAUMATURGE": Maxim and the Refle(tor dis(overed this terminal hidden away in a sealed-off vent.
"THE THAUMATURGE": Yes, that Maxim. Do ask them their story if you want to know how that o((urred.

"The Thaumaturge" opens up the files that have already been looked at.

"THE THAUMATURGE": The te(hnology all over this (hamber stinks of (ypress's gifts, and the terminal, asking for its owner's (odename, responded to the password "Kudan" and is (apable of (ontrolling the Vedfolnir.
"THE THAUMATURGE": I'm sure you realize what that insinuates. I had suspe(ted from the moment the Refle(tor learned who (ypress was, but this is fairly definitive proof.
"THE THAUMATURGE": Your High(hair friend stored two very sensitive files on here, in(luding plans to augment the Sphere as Spark (ommands, as well as to betray Spark and (ripple or destroy the Sphere.
"THE THAUMATURGE": In the latter (ase, working with someone named Kallax.
"THE THAUMATURGE": And a third file is lo(ked behind another password.
"THE THAUMATURGE": It appears (ypress is not even, not even truly (ypress.
"THE THAUMATURGE": A fas(inating web of lies and half-truths (on(o(ted to support the ma(hinations of this triple-agent inventor. I, for one, must know how his story began.
"THE THAUMATURGE": And on(e we know that, well... these "favors" might be (ru(ial to understanding the nature of the Rebellion and their mysterious Tabletopian benefa(tors.

"The Thaumaturge" inclines his head back towards the vent.

"THE THAUMATURGE": Now, my proposal?

Battle - Aviation Chamber

Hannah spawns in at (somewhere along the bottom), moves to (N20), and looks the Faithful right in the eyes. "Y'know, I didn't want to have to do this, but you kinda give me no choice, what with your... associates and all."

She almost does the thing she usually did with the bow, but then stops midway through, remembering that oh yeah, she killed it.

"(...it's gonna be hard to get used to this.)"

She pulls the string back, and releases a max-range bolt straight at Faithful 2, likely downing them if nothing else happens.

To get into a better position, Hannah Warp Rings herself to (K18); the perfect spot to snipe some fools from. And the perfect spot to spook Splintershot 4 from. "Boo."

She snickers as she glares to her left, towards the center.

"Yeesh, you sure picked a bad day to be up here, buddy. Especially since like ten more of us are coming."

Skylabs - Hannah

Hannah grins. How there's nothing behind such a flimsy structure is beyond her, but she's not complaining. Though it might be smart to actually get a visual of whatever's inside. Just in case.

Using an arrow tipped with her Necrosis poison, she thrusts it in through the wall, rotting a small chunk of it away. She pokes the rotted bit, causing a tiny part of the wood to fall away. She peeks inside, and, assuming nothing of note is there waiting for her, melts through the rest of the wall with normal ol' corrosives. Once on the other side, she immediately melts her way down to the other side of the metal plate in the vents. Unless the "plate" turns out to be more of a massive block than a plate; THEN she just shrugs and marches on.

Meanwhile, outside the labs, Dorothy and Hannah appear to be discussing things with each other. Sounds like it started a while ago.

A Chat between Two Kids

"I-I dunno, I feel kinda bad for her."
"Um. H-how so?"
"Like... she had a worst enemy, her mom died to that person, and by the time she made an antidote it was already too late, as they'd been caught. Then that person was turned into a longbow, which she used a bit before throwing it away, and then I found and eventually killed it."
"A-and talking about it... stressed h-her out that much?"
Hannah nods. "M-mostly. I-I also, uh..."
She looks around, Dorothy being confused as to why she'd do this. "...C-can you keep a secret?"
Dorothy looks at Hannah for a number of seconds, obviously concerned. "Y-yes, of course, b-but... w-what exactly did you s-say to her?"
...A moment passes. Hannah leans in and whispers into Dorothy's ear. She gasps, though not very loudly, and is drowned out by the wind. "D... D-did you really need to-?"
Hannah slowly nods. She's not all that happy about it either. "A-at the time I thought it was... y-y'know, the right thing to do. Guess I messed up pretty bad somewhere... b-but I dunno what I did wrong..."
"T-the stuff you said for one! Sensitive stuff r-really needs to be handled s-super, super carefully! And y-you really need to be more considerate of their feelings! Even just... y-y'know, realizing that maybe you shouldn't keep talking about it and stopping. B-but now it's too late for that..."
...Hannah curls up into a tight ball. Dorothy's words hurt a surprising amount. She was uncharacteristically on the verge of tears. Dorothy lets her sit there for a while, glancing over to her. Before long, though, she pulls Hannah back in for a hug. "There, there... I-I know it hurts, a-and I'm sorry for saying that stuff l-like that, b-but... y-you really do need to at least t-try and do that stuff."
A few more moments pass by, with Hannah trying to wipe her tears away on Dorothy's shoulder. She succeeds, as Dorothy doesn't resist, just letting her do it. Soon enough, Hannah was calm enough to ask, "...W-what now?"
"I-I think... I think y-you should apologize to her. S-sorta like how I did just now. M-maybe later, though. Maybe whenever you s-see her next?"
Hannah hesitates, giving it some thought. Then, she nods. "I-I'll... try to keep that in mind."
A weak smile forms across her face as she pulls away from her friend for a brief moment, uncurling from her ball. "...Thanks." She then pulls her in again for a proper hug.

...

After her delightful conversation with Yew, and the information acquired as a result, Hannah gets lost in thought.

She knew she'd need some sort of advantage that neither Venia nor Regalus could tap into reliably. That would be exceptionally difficult, given their strengths lie in their absurd tech level, combined with literal superpowers. The Thymefield neutered those powers and tech significantly, but were still really absurd.

There's only a few civilizations she could think of that could even come close to them in tech level. The Echo Collective, which she's only heard about from logs from the others and likely would not want to get involved in an assassination plot; and the one she's much more familiar with thanks to Sophie and Dorothy: Neo Nedilia's tech faction, the Timelocked Wanderers. That faction is the one Sophie and Adria are a part of, and houses Dorothy after she moved in. Though odds are Adria wouldn't willingly lend her services to an assassination plot either... and Sophie's just not a good choice, being younger than Hannah and, while really smart, nowhere near smart enough.

And don't even get her started on Dorothy. Hannah doesn't want to involve her in this. Full stop.

The Tabletopians? Nah, too hostile... The Rebels? Well, it is pretty much known that Cypress was a key member of the ongoing rebellion. But again, too hostile... and not enough quality technology to boot.

It quickly becomes clear to Hannah that she doesn't have a lot of options outside of somehow luring Regalus into a trap... but with Venia likely following him out of fear or because of Maria, that might prove excessively improbable...

There has to be some sort of trick to get things going in her favor...

She ruminates on what to do as she goes about her business...

House - Sophia

"Oh that's awesome! I'll find her later, I still have a ton to learn from her! I gotta do a few things before then, and I prolly should go do 'em now, so bye!"

Sophia skips off downstairs, the last little smell of smoke not really bothering her. She starts catching up on her crafting stuff. Though that very brief encounter with Rebecca set something off in her head; something's not quite right.

They looked very different to everyone else she's seen before. And acted sort of like Dorothy, except dialed to eleven. She wonders what could have caused that shyness... though she just chalks it up to just not knowing enough about her, and carries on with her backlog.

Chapel - Adria

Adria nods at Taeda's remark. "Yes, it can get... strange, at times. They often have much different experiences when compared to those of my own. It's a pretty large boon to research, perhaps unsurprisingly. But, um, enough about that. I've already talked your ear off enough."

"...Hm... perhaps you could talk a lot about Helix as I work? You seem quite knowledgeable on the subject, and I would love to know more."

Turret Makin' Business - Paladin Turrets
By now Adria's finished with the blueprints for the defenses. They appear to operate on light-based crystals, using concentrated light from small shards of Heavenly Regalia (this one's scratched out) or respectable chunks of Shimmering Cluster to create lasers strong enough to force an opponent back and rendering them blind for a few moments, along with dealing some respectable damage. It's also hooked up to an exceptionally advanced detection system located on a high part of a building, operating on visuals in conjunction with infrared heat signatures to effectively negate blindness. Said system also comes equipped with a Divinity Gem to project a shield in case it's shot at. To protect against EMPs or similar, a sliver of Mantle Cluster is placed within each unit to allow for the rapid dissipation of excess energy. It's self-powered by efficient use of a Shock Crystal. Past that, the AI does the talking. Or I guess Shooting.

The AI is set up in such a way as to distinguish friend and foe through its sensors. It's also to be set up to drop sapient Chairians to near collapse, or to mercilessly slaughter monsters like Iti.

The construction itself has the entire metal turret fold in on itself, compacted into a small box, while a large sod of grass covers it up. The outer frame is made up of Durasteel plating, as are the guns. The mechanisms that allow rotation, compacting, and such are made up of Titanium. Shiny Silver is used in the guns to give the lasers their strength through reflection of light, though they can be turned off to give the laser less focus if need be. There are two barrels per turret.

After considering the area around the chapel, Adria decides she'll be needing four of these turrets to effectively surround the perimeter. She calculates out the materials she'll need for four turrets plus the sensor, the total comes out to:
-x10 Durasteel Ingots
-x5 Titanium Ingots
-x4 Silver Ingots
-x? Iron Ingots
-x1 Small AI Core
-x2 Central Processing Units
-x5 Joltwire
-x? Wire Scraps
-x1 Divinity Gem
-x4 Shimmering Clusters
-x1 Mantle Cluster
-x5 Shock Crystal

Adria pins the blueprint up on the wall for easy viewing. She turns to Taeda, who might already be monologuing. "S-sorry to interrupt, but could you stand still for a moment, Taeda?" She takes out a device not too dissimilar to a scanner, and scans Taeda for her heat signature. Once done, she records it. "Thanks, dear. Continue on."

Adria starts on the sensor and mainframe first. It has a pretty simple Titanium outer shell; not enough to dip into the resource pool all that much. She fits in a reprogrammed Small AI Core with some Joltwire, Wire Scraps, and the two Central Processing Units, along with a Shock Crystal for power, a sliver of the Mantle Cluster for EMP protection, and the Divinity Gem for physical protection. It should be able to wirelessly communicate with the other turrets; no need for clunky wires. And besides, wires would give it away.

She heads outside, and climbs up the chapel (perhaps with some help from Taeda). She installs the sensor at the highest point she could for maximum coverage. She secures it to said point, flicks it on, and descends. She returns to her spot in the chapel to start with the turrets.

Wanting to get the guns out of the way first, Adria puts on a heavy duty welding mask for safety. The barrels are formed from some of the Durasteel; they're fairly wide, but not ludicrously so. Eight total barrels later, and she gets to work with the Shimmering Clusters. She uses one cluster for each turret; one cluster per two barrels. She breaks them apart into their respective halves, just a little smaller than the barrels. She then encases the inside of each barrel and the backside of the cluster in a thin layer of Silver, with the back part being parabolic to greatly increase the strength of the beam. She hooks each barrel's Cluster up to a small piece of Joltwire, then encases everything else bar said Joltwire in more Durasteel.

A lot more metalwork, and the outer shell components made up of Durasteel are created. More metalwork still, and the gears and shafts that allow the turret to rotate, aim, and fold are created from the Titanium, along with an iron box to hold the turrets. The boxes are quite deep, yet sturdy. Their main purpose is to keep the environmental factors out of it. Adria fiddles with the insides of the parts more, adding in the Shock Cluster, Wire Scraps, Joltwire, and Mantle Custer slivers in each of the turrets.

She'd put them together, but... well, she made them outta hecking Durasteel. She has trouble even lifting the barrels, sweating as she struggles to get them up in the air even a tiny bit.

Oops.

...Adria rests the part onto the floor. "W-well... I certainly did not think this through... it's way too late to just recycle the parts, too. I've already got them built..."

("I really need to work out more.")

She gets up. "Hrmm... Taeda, and whoever else, can you help me with this? Once we get this put together, moving them into place should be a breeze. Just follow my lead."

Assuming she gets the help she needs, Adria and co. start by lifting the body of one turret into the iron box. Adria secures it into place, and they move onto the next. They keep doing this until all four are in their boxes. Then, they lift the rotating portion of the turrets onto the bodies, and Adria installs them. Finally, they attach and install the barrels to the aiming mechanism on the turret, Adria firmly securing them so that they don't fail.

She gives the turrets a test to make sure they fold in and out properly. The turret moves itself back and compacts itself, the barrels fitting nicely into the box. The entire thing can compact enough to fit in a short box; only about a third the size of Adria herself. Which, considering the turret was as tall as her before then, is impressive.

Adria pulls out a number of logs, and rolls each turret box onto them. "Alright... t-time to roll them out. I can... I can p-probably take it from here. T-thanks, all!"

Slowly and carefully, Adria rolls each turret outside. While it might take less time to have Taeda help, she already helped with the lifting earlier. She probably needs a break after that. Once they're all in place, she starts digging.

Going by the map, Adria digs holes at (D93), (N93), (C104), and (O104), each deep enough to hold the entire turret box. She saves each pink grass sod to put on top of the turret, for camouflage purposes. She carefully lowers each box into the ground, using some iron chains to help with that. She fills in the area around the box with dirt, and plonks the sod on top of the turret. She repeats this process for the other three.

Finally done with that, Adria pulls out a PDA of some sort, pushes a few buttons, and connects the turrets with the sensors. The sensor starts scanning for hostiles, and the turrets lie in wait, ready to spring up and attack.

Paladin Turrets created! Stats... coming soon? Maybe? Who knows.

With the turrets put into place, Adria returns to the chapel, absolutely exhausted. She collapses to the floor soon after she enters."I-it's... d-d-done... urrrrrgggghhh..."
"D-don't... w-wanna move..."
"I-it burns..."

Ah dang everyone used up the spawn point. Oh well.

I spawn in at M22, walk up three spaces, cast Spirit Blade and Toxin Coating on myself, cast Focus Energy as a bonus action on Hannah, stab Splintershot 4 with an Infinidagger, attack Earthshaker 1 without applying any of my poisons to them, and then Phial Burst Splintershot 4 as a bonus action.

...Splintershot 4 picked a terrible place to be alive, tbh

<STORYPOST>

...Finally, Hannah decides to dispatch Yew. With a Mirror Image somewhere deep in the Everground, geared up with the highest amount of Poison Resistance she can possibly muster, Hannah removes one of Maxim's Razors from the inventory. She gives it a little twirl as she pulls Yew from the inventory, still soundly asleep from Nidra's spell. She briefly sighs. This was it. She takes a deep breath, and-

HANNAH: DIE!

-she plunges the blade straight into Yew’s eye without a second thought. Yew's eye flies open, a sort of crimson fluid leaking from the gigantic gash within her cornea.

YEW: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUGHHHHHHH!
YEW: IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS-

Yew struggles, shaking violently in Hannah’s hands. All she can see is crimson. But that voice. She recognized that voice. Try as she might to shoot, she can’t with a blade in her eye. If it were anyone else, Hannah might’ve actually felt guilty about it. Not this time, though. Her face was stone-cold, staring at her victim. Unfortunately for her however, Yew was still more than capable of communicating. Her words are clearly panicked and pained, but still filled with utter malice.

YEW: Oh, Hannah. I thought we had an understanding!
YEW: We could've killed them all. Made them see our way!
YEW: Their mercy, their pathetic mercy to the Chairian people- it'd be so much easier to kill them all!
YEW: You saw that, right? We can’t keep letting our enemies crawl away!
YEW: Right? RIGHT?

Of course. Of course she wouldn’t be quiet in her last moments. Oh well. Hannah spoke up, sounding more annoyed than anything else.

HANNAH: I don’t think you quite understood who’s in charge, here, little missy.
HANNAH: What you nearly did back there was reckless. So, so very reckless.
HANNAH: Didn’t I tell you not to do anything stupid? That’s exactly how you ended up in this mess. You did something stupid.
HANNAH: And then it all went downhill for you from there.

YEW: Ah? Was not wanting to out my savior truly so stupid?
YEW: Surely you would’ve done the same, right?

HANNAH: Against literally anyone else, definitely.
HANNAHL Against Venia? That gal’s nuts in every sense of the word. I knew better than to refuse. She’d probably send you to a much, much worse fate than a swift death.

YEW: Perhaps we should’ve done something about her, then.

Yew cackles to herself, each individual giggle causing more drops of entropic fluid to spurt from her eyeball.

YEW: Hahaha, you know...
YEW: You’re just like me. Taking me out before I could even retaliate.
YEW: No warning. No more of our delightful conversations.
YEW: Just cutting right to the chase.
YEW: One might call it cowardice, but I’d call it being strategic!

HANNAH: Totally. But there’s always a time and a place for it.
HANNAH: That wasn’t it.
HANNAH: I don’t want to kill if it just means I’ll end up dead too.
HANNAH: And I definitely don’t want the weapon I’m using to end up being my end.
HANNAH: In a word… the life within you is obsolete.

YEW: Ah? So you’re not denying me, then?
YEW: I knew I liked you for a reason.
YEW: I’d kill me too, were I in your position.
YEW: Maybe...

Yew’s voice slowly grows quieter, and the flow of fluid from her eye begins to slow.

YEW: Maybe we really are the same.
YEW: The irresistible sight of the life draining from their eyes...
YEW: This is what you want, right?

Hannah quietly chuckles to herself.

HANNAH: Bold of you to think that. And true, to an extent.
HANNAH: I do wish to see the life drain from their worthless husks.
HANNAH: ...But.
HANNAH: What are those worthless husks?
HANNAH: Those like me and you.
HANNAH: Those that invade islands, take it for themselves, harass the original inhabitants tirelessly, hog all the money on said islands, and all the while nobody’s there to stop them.
HANNAH: Those that harm and kill to serve some twisted purpose.
HANNAH: Those kills… are the sweetest. Because they actually accomplish something. The bigger and more cruel the target, the more satisfying it is.
HANNAH: Might be laughable to you. But I don’t go for meaningless kills just to get a cheap hit of satisfaction.
HANNAH: You never even tried to go for a real kill back then, did you? Just stuck to the cheap stuff. Kills you knew you could get away with for little effort.
HANNAH: Best you ever attempted was on a detective. And you failed.
HANNAH: But don’t worry... Your shell will prove very useful in due time.

YEW: Hahahahahah…
YEW: Well, I could barely help myself.
YEW: Their deaths were… intoxicating…
YEW: Going too long without snuffing out another life… i-is agonizing…

Yew’s voice begins to fade. Still though, she communicates to Hannah through telepathy. However quiet her words are now, they still reverberate through Hannah’s mind.

YEW: To be killed by you… is an honor.
YEW: And as thanks… I present to you... the perfect mark.
YEW: That Praefortis girl. As she prowled through my mindscape... I was able to tap into her mind.

YEW: Venia Praefortis.
YEW: The Duchess to an emperor who rules by fear, and fear alone.
YEW: The sort you’d love to slaughter.
YEW: My final request...

It’s now barely a whisper, hardly audible among the background noise. And yet, her words seem to stab deeply into Hannah’s mind.

YEW: Kill her. And perhaps her emperor, too.
YEW: And… let your bloodlust... flow...

Yew goes completely silent. Hannah finishes the job, twisting the blade and yanking it and the eye straight out. It splats on the ground with a meaty squish. What a relief…

...though that last bit Yew said to her…

HANNAH: ...this is gonna be hard to hide from her...
HANNAH: ...i can feel it...

She sighs. She’ll need to be extremely careful around the both of them.

Hannah stows the Silenced Bow back into the inventory, along with the knife she used for the deed. The mirror image shimmers out of existence, leaving the Everground relatively silent once more.

Special thanks to Darkside for helping with this storypost! With this, the Silenced Bow has been properly, formally added to the inventory as a Tier 6 weapon.

Bauhaus hears quite a loud ruckus all the way on the other side of the Skylabs.

"Someone needs my help! A hero's work is never done, I guess."

He starts sprinting away, and suddenly disappears in a flash of light.

< RP: AVIATION CHAMBER >
Bauhaus finds himself in a room with lots of platforms and a foam floor. /WIP, prolly

< BATTLE: AVIATION CHAMBER >
ELEMENTS: EARTH/ELECTRIC
Bauhaus spawns at K11, moves to H12, casts Abduction, putting Faithful1 on H11, then uses Surprise! to perform a basic attack on them. Electric element, BTW. Not that it matters that much.

Lily swaps the Rage Catalyst for the Cirno fumo and specs A for her third Fell Star specialization.

She also sidespecs the Santa Hat by imbuing the sheer hate she holds for the Christmas event in her home game for making her do extra moderation and upkeep work for no extra pay into it, and also a Gaiadiamond I guess.

Scrooge Hat (T6 Trinket):
Stats: +10 MHP, +2 RES, +5 SPC, (Bah, Humbug)
(Bah, Humbug: The first two foes you down / defeat in the battle drop a Stolen Present containing 40 Credits.)
Resists: Ice (40%), Water (40%), Dark (10%)

Battle: North of the Pass

Irongutta spawns in at F31 and scoots forward to F30. Opting to take a more cautious approach against the Fell Beasts, he buffs himself with Fury and targets Fell Beast 2 to be pinged by his hat.

<ROUND 259>

As per usual, we'll start with random numbers? What do they mean???

THE NUMBERS, MASON!
Nidra: +3 SPC.
Pionobot: +2 DEF.
Asha: +3 MMP.
Destiny: +9 DEF, -1 MMP, -4 AGI, -Antibody, -Whirling Blades level. Three crafts performed, using a Predator Tail, 2 Yaga Razorteeth, and 2 Fell Blades to upgrade the Piercer Ring, 2 Hybridized Matter and 2 Gaiameld Ingots to improve Hell and Back, and 2 Airship Weapon Parts and 3 Shimmering Clusters to improve the Watcher's Robes.
Remiel: +2 SPC.
Lily: Cirno Fumo equipped. Fell Star upgraded. Santa Hat edited into the Scrooge Hat by using... 5 Electrum Ingots. Note: stats of the hat were not improved. That'd be going up to a Tier 7 hat!

Echoss and Chloe discuss food. Odds are, assembling a whole factory under the gaze of the Thymefield isn't the best possible idea. But on the other hand, he could grab more of those sodas from the Collective.

CHLOE: Ooh, yeah! I could go for that!
CHLOE: Those ones you got earlier were pretty good! Even if the branding seemed... different.

Echoss then examines the selection of meat they have to cook up with Chloe. They could also probably whip up some jam, and grab some vegetables from somewhere. He then comes up with the idea that he could just ship in a whole bunch of sandwich ingredients from the collective.

CHLOE: That'd... probably be easier.
CHLOE: So let's grab some peanut butter, some jelly, some lettuce, tomatoes, and other nice veggies, and then... some slices of cheese?
CHLOE: What's a sandwich without a nice slice of processed cheese?
CHLOE: Or normal cheese.
CHLOE: Processed cheese kinda tastes like childhood though, y'know?

Perhaps Echoss has some ideas of his own that he'd like to order from the Collective? Maybe something weird or exotic that Chloe hasn't heard of before. Sliced Fluke Cores inbetween two slices of bread sounds good.

Elsewhere, Pionobot rants towards the Royal Magus who's attempting to execute Cypress. The Magus bites their tongue. Who's this guy, and how dare he question the orders of Chairheir Spark?

ROYAL MAGUS: Be silent, cur.
ROYAL MAGUS: It was not his fault that the people decided to go against his will, and did not share his fervor for the land.
ROYAL MAGUS: And don't even compare our armies. While you are free to operate as you please, most of the Legion's time and effort must be dedicated to protecting the people.
ROYAL MAGUS: We do not have the time to hunt down the Eliti, as we must deal with you lot.

There's some "grrrr" here. y'all just gotta chill and share some snacks

Asha takes Marron by the hand. Nothing else really happened this post, but it's cute okay?

Crya warms up a Yggapple Pie for Chi. Pie goes in the oven. As the scent of caramelized apples fills the room, Chi perks up.

CHI: Ahhh...
CHI: That smells good.
CHI: It probably won't live up to my mother's, but... I appreciate it nonetheless.
CHI: And I can't make a proper judgement until I taste it, correct?

Then, in a shocking moment, Chi scoops the ice cream onto the pie.

CHI: W-Wait, that's illegal?
CHI: Or... it might be?
CHI: I haven't had ice cream until today. I wonder how the flavors will mix?

They mix. As the GM hasn't had apple pie with ice cream before, I'm going to assume the sensation is eye-opening. A smile crosses Chi's face.

CHI: Ah!
CHI: Logically, the flavors shouldn't mix, but... I love it!
CHI: The pie's good, too!
CHI: Excuse me while I...

Chi slays her portion of the pie with relative haste. Politely, she takes a napkin, and wipes any sort of residue on her lips.

CHI: Thank you, miss Crya.
CHI: I... feel somewhat better, now.
CHI: I'd just like to... rest a little while longer.

Chi sits up straight in her chair, yawning and stretching.

CHI: Miss... Crya, was it?
CHI: I'm... curious.
CHI: If you were to meet one of the Rebellion leaders, w-what would you say to them?
CHI: To have done such awful things... could they be redeemed?

...Eh? This question (totally) came out of nowhere. Maybe it'd be worth taking the conversation in a different direction, though? Or you can just try and calm her nerves. Who knows. Talking is hard.

Maria opts to make a card! As she doodles something that's probably cute on the card, Marron gently puts the scarf into the box, and wraps it in gift wrap decorated with cute cartoony cat faces. As the two craftswoman work, Regalus politely informs Omorika that a lot of people have died visiting Sussui. There's also something regarding time travel?

OMORIKA: ...Pardon me?
OMORIKA: I... don't believe time functions the way you think it does.
OMORIKA: At least, we don't have the knowledge to believe that time functions in this fashion, but...
OMORIKA: I believe that we'd have noticed if many of your agents had arrived here prior.

OMORIKA: But... do you truly believe we are destined to fail?
OMORIKA: I refuse to believe it. We will succeed, despite the odds.

Ring, ring. Regalus is then called elsewhere. He politely informs Omorika that one of her allies is in danger.

OMORIKA: ...I suppose that he is, yes.
OMORIKA: Goodbye, sir Regalus.

She turns and walks away, the clacking of her clogs marking her every step. Finally, Venia decides to take a look at Rosie's internals, and the damaged components of the Duneyrr. Seems like there is a slot for an AI core within the Duneyrr. While the AI Core in the Duneyrr wasn't designed to operate the whole ship, Rosie's probably entropic enough to screw with things to make it work. It also seems like various bits and bobs from around Rosie would be of help: the weapons systems were damaged during the fight, and Rosie has what you need to replace them.

...However, being a large robotic spider tank, it seems that Rosie does not have the components to replace one of the missing legs, as well as the components required to replace the damaged Stratoshield. But perhaps those systems could be replaced with something better?

The Reflector / Thaumaturge tells Omorika to follow on. She sighs.

OMORIKA: ...A political minefield, hm?
OMORIKA: Our situation is already a minefield, but perhaps learning this could prevent us from setting anything off?
OMORIKA: I shall follow. Lead the way-

The Thaumaturge jumps up into a vent, and shimmies their way through. She narrows her eyes, staring at the opening.

OMORIKA: Through the ventilation?
OMORIKA: I suppose if that's where I must go...

With much hesitation on her part, Omorika climbs up into the ventilation. She struggles to fit her way through, not being small or able to manipulate her body. Eventually, she arrives in the sealed off testing chamber with the Thaumaturge.

OMORIKA: ...There is a room here?
OMORIKA: How utterly fascinating.
OMORIKA: I suppose it'd make sense, as the southern wing is highly symmetrical.
OMORIKA: When was this sealed off, I wonder? And how long has this place been used as a... private study?
OMORIKA: I am unaware of the purpose of this room.

The Thaumaturge then explains a few things to Omorika. The terminal responded to "Kudan", the codename of the last Rebel leader. In addition, there are sensitive files regarding the Sphere, and plans to destroy it.

OMORIKA: Curious.
OMORIKA: Perhaps there is more to Cypress than we once thought?
OMORIKA: He is after all, a genius. Documents can be faked. Identities can be stolen.
OMORIKA: But... the name Kallax is distinctly Tabletopian.
OMORIKA: I am unsure as to what Cypress is doing, dealing with a Tabletopian...
OMORIKA: Or why this "Kallax" would owe him a favor.

OMORIKA: As to your proposal...
OMORIKA: There is a mystery afoot here.
OMORIKA: If there is anything you require of me, I will aid you.
OMORIKA: Where do you propose we begin our investigation?

it's mystery time™

Hannah breaks through a wooden barrier! Corroding through the wooden mass blocking her way through the crawlspace, she... discovers it's a deal thicker than she thought. Still, it's nothing she can't melt through. Lots of melting later, she's able to return to the inside of the ventilation. Looking behind her, it turns out the plate was in fact, just a plate after all.

She crawls forward, soon taking a sharp right. Beyond that last vent appears to be the room that's been so heavily reinforced: the Medical Testing Chamber. Although... it looks to be more of a meeting room at the moment? There's also certainly movement beyond there- she'll need a plan. Otherwise, those sentry guns will most likely shred her.

Elsewhere, at a location where less warcrimes are going to be committed, Adria asks if Taeda could talk about Helix as she worked. She nods happily, as Adria gets to work on her Paladin Turrets! She begins right after Adria scans her for her heat signature, which seems to generally be a deal cooler (in terms of temperature, not... radicalness) than that of a human.

TAEDA: Hm, now where to begin...
TAEDA: A long, long time ago, according to our creation myth, Lord Helix came into being when thousands from some sort of ancient civilization cried out, asking for guidance.
TAEDA: Lord Helix, as he came to be known, was born from these cries, to serve the people.
TAEDA: He created his first messengers, a lizardlike creature known as "Abby" and an avian known as "Jebus".
TAEDA: Their true names are far more complicated, but they're also not pronounceable by either of our tongues!

TAEDA: These two came down to guide the people down the righteous path, guiding the people and their hopes.
TAEDA: Following the leader of the ancient civilization, a man known only as "Red", they set out on a journey!
TAEDA: The people had hoped to reach a promised land where only the strongest could stand- a place known as The League!
TAEDA: Guiding the people, Abby and Jebus travelled far and wide throughout the land, meeting all sorts of individuals who joined them on their trip. Legends like "Leno", and "Digrat".
TAEDA: I'd go into more detail, but... it's all really rather long winded!

TAEDA: On one faithful day, as the travelers tried to obtain the means to cross a turbulent ocean, disaster struck.
TAEDA: For when Lord Helix was formed out of the purest intentions, the darkness in the hearts of those present also formed a deity known as Lord Dome.
TAEDA: Corrupting one of the many followers of Red, a being known as "Prophet" who was meant to guide the people across the waters, Dome awoke something within them.
TAEDA: Tainted with unholy flames, Prophet struck down and killed both Abby and Leno. While they were soon sealed away from their crimes, the damage had been done to-

...It looks like Adria's finished her construction efforts on the Paladin Turrets! Taeda's explanation of lore is far longer than I wanted to type out, and it looks like Adria finished before Taeda was able to finish the first few of her chapters. This uses 10 Durasteel Ingots, 5 Titanium Ingots, 4 Silver Ingots, 15 (5) Iron Ingots, a Small AI Core, 2 CPU's, 5 Joltwire, 30 (20) Wire Scraps, a Divinity Gem, 4 Shimmering Clusters, a Mantle Cluster, and 5 Shock Crystals. This creates a batch of four, which are buried at the corners of the chapel.

Adria then collapses to the ground. Taeda's quick to come to her side.

TAEDA: M-Miss Adria!
TAEDA: You've worked yourself too hard!
TAEDA: A bed would do you some good, as well as some fluids...

TAEDA: If you'd like, I can carry you back to the house to get you some proper rest.
TAEDA: Although... I am not sure if I'm strong enough to carry you.
TAEDA: Maybe I could... set up something here for you?

In the meantime, Taeda provides Adria with a canteen of water. She also throws a Frigid Crystal into the canteen, cooling the water down to a delicious chilly temperature.

(As a final note, you may come up with the statblocks if you wish. If not though, I can make something for them.)

<NORTH OF THE PASS, ROUND 2>
As it turns out, the first potential location for the entrance didn't have anything behind it. Likely unsurprising, but oh well. Keep heading north! Do note that you'll likely see a few odd things as you head up, as the Rose Cult are quite the enigma. Also consider taming the Mollusks? They'd be quite nice to have around.

<AVIATION CHAMBER, ROUND 2>
Reinforcements! Two particular units of note today. One of them is a specialized elite that some of you may recognize- Twig! He's incredibly agile and deadly, but he's rather limited in what he can do. Weakening him would probably do wonders. There's also a songstress on the eastern side, who can refresh the actions of the allies. This will likely ruin your day. Just... try not to murder them, alright? Killing either outright will likely be bad for your diplomatic status.

Echoss + Chloe
"The branding was probably different because very few Earth brands are present in the Collective. Different worlds, different brands, yes?"
Echoss strokes his chin
"I'm not sure if I have easy access to the standard 'processed cheese' options. From what little I know on the subject, it's generally created as a cheaper cheese alternative, which isn't quite so applicable in the Collective. I suppose I'll just order a few different types and hope one is close enough.
Also do you think I should perhaps try my hand at ordering a few more exotic fixings? There's quite a few things that we have at our disposal that I don't think any of the spherebreakers will know of, would it be worth trying a few things or should we just leave it to what people will recognize and be comfortable with?
"

Pionobot rants a little more
Pionobot boggles vacantly at the Praetorians.
"Let me get this straight.
75% of the living High Chair members are here. On the battlefield, expressing strong desire for the Sphere to not be a thing.
And Spark is the one you're listening to? Exclusively?
Dear Godmodder how dense can you get!?
This isn't a traitor execution this is a
GORILLAing coup!
Spark is literally trying to execute the other government members so that he doesn't have to answer to anyone and you people are justifying it.
So let's tally up the results then.
Spark has:
Firebombed his own people.
Ordered the mobilization and weaponization of the giant eldritch orb trying to drown your kingdom in cannibalistic monsters.
Ordered an on-site execution of at least one of the other government members to avoid oversight.
Is sending untrained noncombatants in to fight the single most dangerous group of 'enemies' - and yes I'm putting that in quotes - on the planet.
"
Pionobot looks out across the room, then over at Omorika before out to the rest of the people.
"Does anyone else have anything to contribute?
Because seriously, it really does feel like you people are throwing your undying loyalty behind a lunatic who doesn't give a rat's
GORILLA about any of you."

Battle commands
Pionobot uses the Yggdrasil Vessel once, consumes his enchant:element to gain Mending4 for 2 rounds, and then casts an element swapped (to electric) Siege Spire on Gaiawall 1. (my armistyx's base element is water) He then swaps to Slashing element on the armistyx.

Halloween edit:
Somewhere in the basement...
Linseed is currently bashing his handcuffs against the bowl of not!candy. Unfortunately for him someone else has noticed the not!candy. Namely, Not!Echoss. Since Not! is his first name, that clearly means that the not!candy has his name on it, so his hands pop up out of the floor, grabbing onto the bowl and pulling it into the ground.
Unfortunately for Linseed his hands are primed to come down on top of the bowl of not!candy right as Not!Echoss does this, causing his hands to get caught in the intangibility for a fraction of a second, which results in Linseed having his hands stuck several inches into the floor.

Not!Echoss peeks his head up out of the floorboards and stares at Linseed for a few seconds.
"...should I tell the Spherebreakers?
...nah they'll figure it out eventually."
And with that he is gone, leaving Linseed still partly handcuffed and also with his hands stuck in the floor.

"(w-wait, they're doing cute things together! do we need to do cute things too?)"

Asha hops to J23 and Warp Rings to L21. She braces herself, then casts Railgun Diplomacy at Fell Beast 1. This has 10 Buff Levels (Enlightened+Loaded Spellbook) and 29 HIT. It also hits the Tombstone first. +2 Might. +1 Magic.

She then uses Alter Reality to swap Focused to Evasive, before monching on some chocolate-flavoured Spiced Porridge.

"I probably should have asked this earlier, but we're looking for a forge, right? Is it a special specific forge or is that code for something, or...?"

Venia shoots back a response, to which Asha replies with a simple "You got it!"

~~

Meanwhile, after the battle, in the recent past, Asha returns from the future with Marron- just in time for Halloween! They head to the house and prepare for the trek (trick?) ahead of them. They huddle on the couch to discuss their plans.

"Halloween! Wow, that's a funny word. Anyway, I really liked it the last few times we did it! Plus, it's an excuse to be cute with you, which I am always looking forward to." Asha titters at the faintly blushing Marron. "But... I don't really know what we should go as. Any ideas?"

Marron stares at Asha, giving her body a look up and down. She bobs her head around while thoughts float around her head. What does Asha remind her of, anyway? Then, it hits her. It hits her like a burst of explosion magic destroying the castle of a dullahan.

"Ah! You should dress up as Megumin!" Marron grins, proud with herself. "She's like, an arch wizard who blows things up! And she has a pet cat, too!" She waves to Chaos, who throws them the physical manifestation of a google image search.

Asha's eyes light up. "Ooh, that sounds so good! I love explosions! Come to think of it, we have like a "Megu Hat" lying around, is that what she wears?" She ponders this for a little bit, before her 26 DGE causes her to auto-dodge a hint. "Wait, if I'm wearing that, what will you be wearing? (i was hoping we could do a sort of matching outfit thing)"

Marron rummages through the inventory, pulling out a pair of Temmie Ears. They're not exactly what she's looking for, but they'll do. She dons them, her cuteness skyrocketing by a factor of at least six. "I'll be Chomusuke! She's the cat." She looks down at her arms. How to be a cat, though? "Maybe I could make a cute cat onesie or something? I dunno."

Asha looks briefly starstruck as her girlfriend's cuteness reaches the highest echelons of her perception. Eventually, she manages to put words together in her mouth. "...You look adorable in those. That sounds like a great costume!" She stubbornly resists the urge to pat Marron's head, trying to retain at least a semblance of seriousness. "If you need more time to make it, I could do my time thing again? I'll see what I can find in the inventory for my costume, maybe I can recolor some stuff we already have..." She trails off as the two of them go to prepare their costumes for imminent confection extortion.

~~

Meanwhile, in the present, Future!Toast (the one in the everground, remember?) climbs up a little ways to the cultist. She drops a crate from the inventory below her as she leaps up onto the taller ledge, the container's lack of momentum (due to hammerspace) allowing her to sort of double jump there. She compliments the cultist on his fashionable hat, and requests if she could have the discarded candy.

Remiel responds to Cypress, speaking loud enough for Spark's forces to hear. If Rem's going the intimidation route, they might as well use the opportunity to feed the legionnaires some misinformation and get two birds stoned at once.

REMIEL: I'll do what I can to avoid using fire magic then, but I can't make any promises. Unfamiliar magic tends to be a bit of a dice-roll.
REMIEL: My control doesn't grant actual telepathy, you know. At most, I can feel a bit for muscle memory from subconscious resistance to my commands.
REMIEL: When I first take control, I probe their instincts for their most familiar spells, but I can't tell what they actually do.
REMIEL: Let's just try out one of their bread-and-butter spells for right now. Not their most frequent, since that's usually Prestidigitation.

The Magus sends a boulder from their basic attack at each of the GravRobes and tosses a Royal Potion to Remiel. Rem then steps to J12 and slaps Gaiawall1.

Destiny moves after Remiel, running to C12 and Observing Twig.
You're mine!
She casts Whirling Blades, going up to C9, then B8, then C7, then D8. She then retreats to F8 then chucks a Cinderfruit at Twig. In the meanwhile, she notices Aoki.
...poor child...

----------------------------

Crya smiles a bit at Chi's newfound discovery of ice cream on pie, but then is hit by Chi's question.
G-Gee, you're making me answer a hard question here...

Crya takes a small breath, thinks about it, and then responds.
...I guess I'd have to ask Scalta first. She can tell the truth, and so I would ask one simple question. "Was your wish with your actions for pure good?" If the answer is determined as "yes", I would likely not have a severe punishment, and I would say they are redeemable. "No", and, well, consequences would be more severe.[color]

Crya takes a moment then looks up.
[color=#A3CEDC]But, I do not believe sins as grave as allowing your own to use weapons that are brutal, lethal, and disfiguring are able to be forgiven without consequence... I'd probably still put them in pris- uh, well, uh... The kinds of prisons that are actually helpful and and ethical, not the rot in a cell kind. I'd still probably put Rebel leaders in there for a some time. And if great malice was found in the hearts of those leaders, it would likely be much longer, maybe the rest of their lives.

Another small pause.
...This feels like an awfully strange thing to ask.

Battle - Aviation Chamber

Hannah glares at Splintershot 4 with utter disappointment. "(what a disgrace...)"

She then looks around at the newcomers. Looks like mr. silent swordsman over there knows what he's talking about; letting his blade do the talking instead of his voice. She grins, not because she'd be suicidal enough to attack them, but because it's someone with some genuine talent for battle.

Then she notices the song, and the songstress singing it. She blankly stares at them, and the people surrounding them. Hannah could see her lack of combat skill just by looking at her. "...You... can't be pecking serious."

In a crowd of battle-hardened veterans they brought out a freaking singer that's untrained in combat. To Hannah, she's on the same level as a civilian. Her face scrunches up in disgust, and her eye twitches. "You CAN'T be SERIOUS! Come ON! THIS!? This is INSULTING! If you're SERIOUSLY expecting a singer that can barely hold a sword to fight, and NOT have her end up DEAD or something, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? I REFUSE to fight her! I have STANDARDS!"

"Rrrrrgh... (i'm gonna enjoy watching Spark and his loyal lackeys suffer...)"

She looks around again. Hm... not many viable targets around. She casts Vampiric Venom on herself, then pulls out some weed.

"...So what's the deal with this, anyway? It's just leaves, what's up with that?"

She kinda just eats the weed whole. The Confused would be a problem if Hannah didn't heal from her basic attack. She casts Mirror Image on (L19), and calls to Omorika. "Hey, can you like, gimme a boost? I'm gonna do this again." Seems she wants Omo to Null Somnum her. If she gets what she needs, she casts another Mirror Image on (K19).

Skylabs - Hannah

The Mirror Image of Hannah sitting by Dorothy gets up. "Um... hey, there's something I need to do really quick. Mind sticking around?"
Dorothy nods, sitting quietly at the edge of the cliff. The Mirror Image walks off, into the lab.

...

Hannah looks through the vent, sizing up the room. Turrets and a single small Chairian sleeping in a chair in a... meeting room? This... isn't a medical research wing at all. She also gets a glimpse of a card. Unmarked, but in the shape of a keycard. Something tells her her old trick won't work this time. She'll need to actually sneak in to snag it.

Hannah devises a plan to get in. First, she'll use some corrosives to destroy all the screws except for one on the bottom. Then, use a Cloaking Device to slip into the place as soon as the vent falls, grabbing the card. Then she'll slip back into the vent as quietly as possible. If the Chairian wakes up or the turrets detect her somehow, drop a poison cloud and get out using the Warp Ring.

She sets it into motion, examining the vent. If there are screws, she corrodes three of them with her signature corrosives and leaves one of the bottom ones intact. Just as the vent was about to swing open, she pulls out a Cloaking Device and sneaks out of the vent. She grabs the vent and hangs from it to make sure her landing doesn't make too much noise. She drops down, landing as quietly as she possibly could.

Hannah carefully makes her way towards the keycard, stepping softly so she doesn't alert anyone. Once there, she slips the card into her hood and looks around. She uses the rest of her cloak to take a closer look around and perhaps even turn the turrets off with her shiny new card, but when it looks like the cloak's about to run out before she can turn the turrets off, she Warp Rings back into the vent and skedaddles.

...

Meanwhile, the Mirror Image that left Dorothy's side walks in on the Reflector and Omorika's chat. It probably wasn't worth being subtle around either of them, so she doesn't bother. "So. Before you say anything, just know that I have no intention of leaking information to anyone about this place. Or the place I just found. But since you were skulking around the place earlier, I figured I may as well let you know. It might help."

"Basically, I found that the place behind the Medical Wing's Doors... isn't a Medical Lab at all. Rather, it looked like a rebel meeting room. The reinforced doors were already sus, but when I crawled through a vent I found a plate of wood-like metal and a crawlspace with an oak barricade right above it. They clearly didn't plan for my corrosives, though. The room was large, and had dim red lights, turrets belonging to the Rebels, a large table in the center, a two-ish-foot-tall Chairian sleeping on a chair (dunno what's up with that), a number of documents I didn't get to read, a teleporter-looking thing, a terminal of sorts, a projector showing the map of SUssui along with points of interest, and most notably some sort of unlabelled keycard-looking card."

"Depending on how well my little sneak session there goes, I may or may not have that card right now. Time's wild like that. Oh, and the vent's at the far end of the hallway next to the 'Medical Testing Chamber', in case you want to see for yourself. Watch the turrets though."

Chapel - Adria

Adria groans. She takes the bottled water. "T-thanks..." she says as she takes a sip. She pushes herself up off the floor a little bit and crawls over to the nearby pew. She climbs up it, and sits down, leaning back with the water in hand. "I-I... just n-need to sit for... a-a bit. An h-hour or two..."

And so she sits, lazily taking in the sights as she sips from the canteen.

BATTLES: AVIATION CHAMBER

The Reflector moves up to E4 and Guards (Panic Button trigger), using Protean to change their Water resistance to Ice and gaining Igniveil. And Enchant: Air, too, just for the hell of it.
"The Thaumaturge" is about to speak, until suddenly, Mirror Hannah rushes in and gives a situation update. And apparently somehow overheard that entire conversation. Huh.

Once that interruption is over with, "The Thaumaturge" turns back to Omo, steepling his fingers.

"THE THAUMATURGE": Unless you possess any other repository, any other (olle(tion of re(ords, I suggest heading to your Whispering Library.
"THE THAUMATURGE": There, we may find re(ords indi(ating (ypress's origins and past. Or, at least, what he wants us to believe are his origins and past. It is diffi(ult to say how mu(h was intentionally (overed up and how mu(h was simply overlooked.
"THE THAUMATURGE": If we (an get a lo(ation as to exa(tly where (ypress grew up, we (an pursue that lead in person.
"THE THAUMATURGE": One way or another, we will dis(over Cypress's true name, and likely why he keeps it so (losely hidden.
"THE THAUMATURGE": And then the se(rets of these "favors" will be ours for the taking.
"THE THAUMATURGE": Unless you'd like to sit here inputting every (hairian and Tabletopian name you can think of into the terminal for the next few hours. That is another way to solve this mystery, but a mu(h less satisfying one.
"THE THAUMATURGE": In addition, the (ommuni(ations fun(tion on this terminal (ould prove quite useful, although using it without learning all we (an first may give us away to the Rebellion.
"THE THAUMATURGE": That and Vedfolnir (an (ome later.

On his way back to the ship, regardless of what destination Omorika thinks is best, "the Thaumaturge" briefly transforms back into the Reflector.

THE REFLECTOR: hello hello there ms. receptionist! what a peculiar quite odd holiday you seem to be celebrating. spontaneous candy generation day as it were as it would be?
THE REFLECTOR: do you mind if i take some? for cultural analysis of course quite an interesting relic.

(They're definitely going to eat it.)

North of the Pass

"Nia, I'll take out the tougher one, and we can march ahead."

Venia moves up to H29, hat-pings Fell Beast 2, and expends her Ordo to shoot Fell Beast 2 with a Purge shot, likely downing it between her buffs and its impressive base damage even through the AC. Guarding only works so well against one single big hit. She refreshes Ordo with the Luminous Rose via her trinket (and a kiss right back) for 10 MP and retreats to H28.

"... Don't chairians use Saplings for dead bodies?... Might be overthinking it, but, it's probably cursed. I'll just make a new one later."

Her pawn moves to I27, duplicates itself to I26, and then the duplicate moves even further forwards to J21-abusing the Sinner's lack of ZoC to get there. It kills the Sinner before 'retreating' to H20.

"... If only he would be that easy," Venia remarks to herself.

She then hears Toast's question. "Uh, yeah. It should be on the side of an illusory rock face, so, like, we'll just have to keep checking, but, like, I know it's around here. Once we see it, uh... Once we see it... Don't go charge in. Uh, we have to make sure we have the Rose Cult, like, 100% purged, so we can be certain we've cleansed the radical elements of the Rose Cult for good, so basically, uh, just wait for me and the others."

"... That means you, Irongutta!"

Aviation Chamber

Sp33d0n is busy so she's given me Auth to command for the time being.

Auth moves to N22 and uses Liberation on Splintershot4, healing Omo with any overkill. He retreats to O21 afterwards.

mariaaaaaaa

Regalus'es eye twitches at that little 'sir' as Omorika walks away. He takes a step forwards-

"Daddy! I need to use the little girls room!" Maria says, hopping up and down.

"You don't need my permission for that, little sunshine," He says, not quite turning to Maria.

"But i'unno where it is!" Maria says.

Regalus pauses. "... I think I saw one at the left after the hallways," He says.

"OK!" Maria says, running ahead. Regalus follows behind her, apparently calm as usual, as Maria hooks left and identifies the little girls room. He watches until she's safe inside-and then turns to Omorika, or where she was before she turned a corner and likely left for the battle.

Rosie

Before we begin-Venia throws the proper amount of credits needed to have Nia improve the Stabilizer Beam in the inventory to T6. I will refer to the result of this as the 'Biomanipulator Beam,' mostly to keep life simple and make it obvious without using the word 'Stabilizer Beam' a ton. It's being crafted into Rosie here straightaway, so...

Venia also requests Chloe to go find a Psychic-elemental Regalia. For my sake, it will be referred to as the 'Psycho Regalia.'

Rosie Mk. II, Part one

"Alright, let's get to work!"

First, Venia decides to fix the issue of the missing leg. Inspecting the other legs, she comes to the swift conclusion that the tank's legs are mostly made of a durasteel exterior surrounding only a few internal components-namely the wiring and machinery involved to shift the legs around. With seven pre-existing blueprints, Venia calls upon Mr. Krabs from whatever unholy netherregions he has been terrorizing, and throws a great deal of Durasteel at him, plus some Joltwire. Mr. Krabs makes noises like an exceptionally vigorous blender, producing a smoothie from his interior. He then pours this smoothie onto the Durasteel and Joltwire, which somehow causes everything to snap together into a replication of the Duneyrr's missing leg, which he then places. That's easy part one.

Easy part two is replacing the Stabilizer Beam. Thankfully, she's already gone above and beyond thanks to her darling girlfriend! The only matter left is re-installing the brand new-and-improved Biomanipulator Beam. Just putting it into position only needs a few Crystalline Conduits to properly re-wire the result. However, for good measure Venia also installs multiple repurposed airship weaponry components-enabling the Biomanipulator Beam to reinforce itself via shielding (like the original) and just as importantly expand its range back to a length comparable to its original-with a few additional tricks.

Then comes the legitimately hard part. First, she has to add considerably more wiring, and very powerful wiring at that. Thankfully, between a surplus of Crystalline Conduits and a few Hyperprocessors, the raw materials necessary to wire up the AI Core to everything of need is already in-place, and happily provides superior alternatives to the current equipment. The other tricky part would be dissecting Rosie properly to replace the rest of the damaged internals. And thus, Venia puts on a welding mask.

And then she snaps her fingers and points at Rosie. Mr. Krabs, who is still present, dons two welding masks over each of his eyestalks, each of which don't even cover a full eye. He pulls his own nose out-and out and out and out and out, expanding well in excess of its apparent size or the mass of Mr. Krabs himself-to the point where his nose, coiled around Rosie, now completely obstructs the tank. Mr. Krabs plays various inane sound effects from a cell phone while he presumably dissects Rosie with the precise hand of a surgeon. Literally. He has the severed hand of an actual surgeon in his possession and is using it to somehow take Rosie apart, screw-by-screw, in a hyperspeed tank rocket surgery.

Mr. Krabs, finally finished flaunting his super-doctorate in quantum omnipotence(?!), makes his nose explode into a .jpg explosion, then moves it to the recycling bin to reveal Rosie, now an orderly collection of tank parts and an AI core. Venia refrains from immediately inserting the AI core into the tank, however. Venia isn't just going to make Rosie's new body 'Duneyrr with Rosie parts,' she's going to improve it to the best of her ability. And that means adding her own touches.

First, though, Venia, considering she now has Rosie's old body in pieces, now has the opporunity to run the whole thing through the Reverse Autoclave and scrub every last part of entropic corruption. She runs the Entropic Scanner over the lot of the leftover pieces, and puts anything that tests positive through the scanner, before setting it aside to be fitted into the Duneyrr in the appropriate positions.

Venia then lays out several plates of Ohmetal, some Sanctified Alloy, a unit of Starite and the Psychic Regalia she had Chloe fetch earlier. The Ohmetal is unruly and Starite is by no means weak, but the Ohmetal is also harder and more plentiful-so Venia just needs to 'train' it to act in unison with the tank and alloy it. The Sanctified Alloy was just there because she figures that this will see use against the Chaos Butterfly, so she might as well include it for some extra 'meat.' Venia can make nanomachines, but nanomachines aren't what Venia wants here-Venia wants the tank to become alive, and capable of rapid self-modification to prevent damages, attack melee intruders, and better repair itself-all at the discretion of the onboard AI. Of course, to do that, Venia would have to attune Rosie to the metal and make sure she can command it.

Venia has been well-versed in the art of infusing magical crystals into operational techno-magical systems. That the systems in question were crystalline themselves made everything even easier; Venia sets up the Cyrstalline Conduits in a circle around the Psycho Regalia, and etched in basic leylines into the ground. Then, Venia pushes magical energy through the Psycho Regalia, causing it to flood out and into the Cyrstalline Conduits. While a tiny bit of power was lost in transit, the result was that a good deal of the Crystalline Conduits now had modest psychic power. She installs all but one of these these Cyrstalline Conduits into the tank's interior, having them do most of the heavy lifting-with a few Hyperprocessors to give Rosie more brainpower so she can command the metal, on top of the larger systems of the tank itself. The psycho-electric currents passing through them would easily allow Rosie to manipulate the Ohmetal in the system so long as the metal didn't go too far away from the tank. She just needed to first scrub the leftover 'will' in the Ohmetal that's making it try to kill her, and an in-between now. The former she could do on her own-the latter the Starite would be able to provide.

Then, Venia uses her own psychic power to make the Ohmetal stop trying to 'run off' or otherwise murder her, and presses the Starite into the resulting material cluster. Using that same psychic power, she causes the whole thing to overheat, creating a forge of her own mind on the spot, while simultaneously psionically attacking the metal sphere through the Starite. With the Starite transmitting the signal of her relatively overwhelming psychic power into the relatively underwhelming thought of the Ohmetal, it immediately ceases to try mass murder and becomes dormant-exactly to plan. This done, she backs up and lets the materials merge together to heat. The result would be even more amorphous than before, but would still need direction to be useful. Venia plugs Rosie's AI core into the Tank, plugs the last psionically-enhanced Cyrstalline Conduit into the combination of Ohmetal and Starite, and then puts both together.

When Rosie starts thinking again, Rosie should immediately notice (a) a relative absense of entropic corruption anywhere on the tank, and (b) the blob of metal that had a wide variety of vectors to manipulate. "Can you hear me? If you can hear me, I've installed you into the Duneyrr. I'm still kind of upgrading things right now, so it's not complete, but I figure I should stop here and check on how you're doing."

"The, uh, the blob you're connected to is a combination of Ohmetal and Starite. It's hooked up to your AI core so you can move it around directly, though if you let it get too far from your wiring, you won't exactly, uh, have control anymore. I recommend dispersing it around the rest of the area. That'll let you basically have... Well, not full control. But it'll let you have some ability to manipulate your own internal structure, mostly the exterior. If anything gets too close to the interior, uh. Yeah, I don't think I need to explain that to you."

"You're still missing a whole Gatling Turret, and I'm still interested on working on the Main Gun, as well as replacing a lot of your munitions.. I'm also going to be adding more and doing some extra touchups, but for now... What do you think?"

Used Components: 50 Durasteel, 50 Sanctified Alloy, 1 Biomodification Beam, 35 Crystalline Conduits, 20 Joltwire, 20 Ohmetal, 3 Hyperprocessors, 1 Psycho Regalia, 1 Starite, 1 Rosie AI core, 1 Rosie.
Special Mention: Reverse Autoclave on leftover Rosie Parts

We're not actually done yet, so this isn't final.
