The Artist looks around the battlefield. He sees the Chairians trembling in fear, the ashes left behind by the Elite. ". . .This is going very wrong so far." The Artist looks over at the Devout and her remaining allies, all cowering in terror. They just saw their boss get turned into dust, even without counting in the fact it was fire damage. He realizes that he is going to have to do a lot to make sure they aren't terrified of them. First things first, they respec all Skill Points, putting 8 into HP and 10 into Int. They pull out a Faithful Robes, a Scientist's Coat, and a Bloody Scarf, he then gets to work. He cuts all of the cloth into, cutting the scarf into wavy pieces. He starts sewing the squares together, altering them to make then a consistent, comfortable cloth, adding more as needed. He adds various green, brown, and night sky blue dyes, crafting a scene of a beautiful forest at night. He then takes the strips of red, adding floating circles of fire, and campfires to the scene crafted, giving the whole image a warm, comforting feeling to it. It's big enough to comfortable hold six Chairians. . . He keeps it with him for now, going over to the two wounded Chairians, casting Transfusion on both of them, using 8HP to heal both of them. He then lifts the Chairians up and puts them next to the Devout, before covering them with the blanket he crafted. He then goes over to the tied up Chairian Fighter, putting the phone in their inventory for now, and adds them to the blanket pile, cutting the vines binding them.
". . .If you could, it would be appreciated if would remain where you are for right now. There is much that we have to explain, and I would prefer someone else to do it as of right now. I won't be the best at that part."
[If the Blanket ends up as an Item itself, it has high Fire Resistance, like, maybe 40%, and maybe an ability to reduce the effect or length of negative status effects.]

Mr. Krabs buys the Warchair so fast that you swear that you don't see him actually do it. It is abruptly in his hands, as opposed to the Salty Searapier, which is now in the inventory for anyone to wield. He also ditches the Strobe Beam for the Goddess'es Servant at this juncture, in lieu of upgrading directly.

No-one can accuse Mr. Krabs of hoarding money, I guess? this game would be impossible if he did

Mr. Krabs also +1s his SKI so he can actually hit with the aformentioned Warchair, as 1 SKI isn't nearly good enough to get good targeting on that thing. I'll be giving more thought to SKI in general very soon, actually. I suppose his current gear load-out got a lot more complicated to work with, given his HIT is now variable depending on his weapon. I guess a note detailing which weapons have which total HIT values ought to work? Eh. I'm not the guy in charge of the document, so that's up to Ire.

Mr. Krabs returns to Chloe. "On the topic of keeping you alive... I see that you have a sword there, except, uh, due to this 'thymecurse' thing it's completely useless... Oh, yes, thymecurse. Simply put, any weapon that isn't made in some certain radius of the sphere is useless. Swords, guns, ships, missiles, keyblades, weaponized laptops, conceptualized pillars of existence, no matter! One and all useless to the sphere. This sword-" He brandishes the Salty Searapier- "-was made within the boundary of the sphere, however, which prevents the weird curse from workin,' so, here ya' go!..."

He bequests the Salty Searapier to Chloe like an old grandpa giving a grand-neice a toy.

"Now, if you'll excuse me. I'll have to get going to see about some hubbub up the road. Probably some giant monster to butcher. Ahh, this brings me back to my navy days, slaughtering weaponized giant colored pencils and wheels made of ocelots!"

He goes west past the Forest Checkpoint via Nyan Cat taxi, arriving at a position that is definitely not so close as to be in the immediate line of fire, but clearly open in case he encounters more Chairians. He hasn't-he's encountered weirdo dangerous girl looking for a warp signature, and judging by the ice pillars ineffectively blocking the ways out, this is clearly the site of a boss battle. "Alright, ye landlubber, I don't intend to kill 'ya all but I do intend to pass, and I'd rather not be fightin to begin with! Bad for business to have my immaculate image sullied so. So! I'd like to pass, and if you don't let me, I'll have fight you, AND if that happens, I'll film the whole thing to ShellTube and become a viral internet sensation, make millions of ShellTube money, and you'll be on the butt of a billion jokes. Can ye let an old navy-crab pass, m'lass?"

Emerald continues chatting with Chloe ”I, uh, have absolutely no idea. Can you at least see what items we have? We have an approximately infinite amount of your scarfs too by the way (somehow).” He says, pulling out a Bloody Scarf and tossing it Chloe’s way ”I can wash that if you want but I’m fairly sure the blood is an inherent part of that armor somehow”

THYMIUM CRAFTPOST!
MATERIALS USED: luminous crystals x6( bought from drone), Thyme matter x2, 1 Iron, [ maybe 1x gold or 1x titanium], 3 goddess's servants, 1x Sage Robes, 1x Mana squarelet, Deal with the dome, 2 wire scraps (used to connect batteries), Sturdy vines x1 (ties the batteries to the robes) Green sap x2 (used to tape stuff to squarelet and attach the vines better) incendiary bits x3 (powering my homeworld crafting device, 1 used to make a wire).
I think for a while. I normally wouldn't need any tools except my trigger, but in this world, fighting happens nigh-constantly. sure, there is Some spare time for my trion to regemnerate, but nowhere near enough to preform combat solely within trion form. I need a solution.
specifically, I need two solutions.
One, more Trion capacity. I need to capitalize on spare time as much as possible, especially if a combat encounter that isn't worth using my trion on shows up when my trion's full. thats what my batteries are going to be for.
Two, More Trion generation speed. once a day is the standard back on homeworld, but that assumes coming out of most combat encounters unscathed and I don't have that kind of time regardless. I'm going to need to obtain some kind of Trion Generator from home, and as far as I know there aren't any ways to create trion without a human's trion gland, though given how low-hanging a fruit it seems like, there's probably some people working on making nonsentient humans to harvest trion glands from... but if there is, it hasn't born fruit yet, so I'm out of luck there. my trion generation seems, for some reason, to accelerate significantly while in combat, but nowhere near enough to maintain consistent usage of my combat body.
luckily, I do have some things going for me.

There's some crystals that seem to have the capacity to hold energy and glow. the amount of energy necessary to sustain the glow is minuscule, so they can serve as batteries with some wiring. I can buy these Crystals from a nearby battle drone, but such batteries would only work with electricity, as their glow is caused when they receive an electric surge.
However, Trigger technology is very advanced, so I'm sure homeworld can find a way to make a suitable alloy from these crystals and some other material, I'll just need to give them some samples of various metals. chances are, this world's metal is different from my worlds normal in a few ways, so I'll need a sample of whatever I can get.
That pretty much means Iron, Chrome, and maybe gold or titanium if I'm lucky. the chrome is from some goddess's servant copies.
I send home 1 ingots worth of each material I can grab. chrome is often used to create synthetic rubies, so it can probably be used to make some rubies to fuse with the strange crystal, maybe altering the energy that can flow through.
I shall suppose my homeland succeeds, and does so with chrome. I gather enough chrome for 6 rubies, and buy 6 luminous crystals from the drone.

I'm still going to need some more things.
as I was making my plan earlier on, I thought I would need to buy some trion glands (preferably obtained from animals) from homeworld for increased Trion generation speed, since people around here tend to... not dodge attacks. Almost ever. which means trion quality isn't very important, only quantity. I'd also need to do it this way, because people... are not be human. I mean, picking at random here (READ: from the top of character sheets), there's a real-life version of yoshi, some chibi-looking kid with a hat, A extremely plain person who, lets be honest, is probably a vampire, some person who's eyes change color and who has weird arms, and definitely came from another planet of some kind, and, if I recall, there's like, some guy with a literal upside down black pyramid for a head. simply put, most people here aren't human and that means I can't borrow trion from them.
However, This was before the conclusion of the Forest checkpoint battle. at the time of my plan, I was unaware of the arrival of "Chloe", who is apparently a human. I feel like the term "By definition" fits here, but I know that can't be right, because saying something is true by definition is only useful when you're trying to bring in unsupported conotations of the term, (IE: Definition one of wiggin: person with black hair and green eyes. other, less formal definition of wiggin: puts too much ketchup on his food, steals candy from babies, and sling-shotted snails into puppies as a child.
"Hey look, Theres a wiggin"
"What? thats a terrible thing to say about someone you don't know! you have no evidence he steals candy from babies, or puts too much ketchup on his food, or slingshotted snails into puppies as a child!"
"but look at him, he's got black hair and green eyes, and it says right here in the dictionary, Wiggin 1: a person with black hair and green eyes. You're not going to disagree with the dictionary, are you?"
"Well, no..."
"Then he's A wiggin. watch, as soon as his food arrives, he's reaching for the the ketchup...")
Anyway, they are a human. that means they probably have a trion gland. I'll have to check to make sure, but if they do, I can offer them this deal:
If they hold a Trion leaching device, I'll owe them one, and it'll help train their trion gland with time. that means that even if their trion level is bellow average (like the famed Osamu Mikumo, who started bellow-average and yet gained fame and power sufficient for to be useful to his friend, Yuma Kuga. he started working at 15, and chloe's apparently 17, but still), they could reach the trion power level of a medium to top-tier B-rank agent fairly easily. after all, most people can only practice part of the time, but if I modify this device properly, the leaching will exercise your trion gland as much as possible, hopefully more then making up the reduced time she'll have before her gland stops working. my one request in exchange is receiving the Trion leached by the device, specifically by having it deposited into my Batteries every so often. I'm only a low-level B-rank, which is why I only use one trigger- scorpion- at a time (every trigger you use when making a combat body takes a slice out of your Trion supply, so I only use one at a time, since I need every bit of Trion I can get, with my relatively low capacity.), so imagine the power they could reach in 3 years!

so now I just need to purchase a crafting device to aid me from homeworld, and the resources for the trion leaching device.
"Yo, Raizō Terashima! I'm going to need a mini-Rad, and your help engineering a Trion battery from local materials! Is there anything useful in this world I can give you so you can justify the expense?"
"Sure thing, just tell anyone who objects to let us keep that Thyme goop the Idra retrieved"
"...the What now?"
"Oh, nobody told you? We've been piggybacking on your trion signal to send in Idra troops to reconnoiter and scavenge any interesting things we found."
"So... what did you find exactly...?"
"there's a weird purple goop we found in a cave. we found traces of Thyme, the spice, within it, so thats what we're calling it."
"Oh, yeah, I remember that goop."
"and you didn't tell us about it?"
"I'm not an engineer man."
"Well tell us next time there's something weird."
"ok, lets see..."
"There's a fountain that spews teal liquid, A armed drone selling who-knows-what, including those crystals and some weird drops that seem to be magic, a fruit tree with glowing purple fruit, some magic flower types, all enemy combatants have no trion glands and seem to be made mostly of wood, and there are deposits of gold, iron and titanium that may have impuriti-"
"Ok, I get it, everything there is weird."
"...That kind of gives you A Lot of bargaining power though... and knowing you, you won't let us take samples of everything for free..."

"Yeah, whenever I need some stuff for improving my trigger Holder or the armor I'm wearing, I'll ring you up and give you a thing. you can have a sample of the iron, the titanium, and some Chrome as payment for helping me produce the batteries. "
"You... do remember you said you wanted a mini-Rad, right...?"
"Ah, right. I'll trade you 2 globs of thyme goop for that."
"Deal."
"Oh, be warned. the thyme goop made hostile creatures if you give it time to form."
"huh, good to know."

I proceed to do all the stuff I've described once the formula for the batterys is returned and they give me the other materials.

assuming Chloe agrees to have something they can't use be sapped away at no cost to them and simultaneously increase the amount of that thing they have, the mini-Rad (which is around 8x the size of a ladybug, which means twice the length, height and width) arrives and drags a note to chloe saying that its going to sit somewhere on their body, relatively near their heart, and it can be on the front or back. it elaborates that the trion gland is located next to the heart, and that its fine to have the Rad sit on armor or some such. it also suggests they put on some armor if they plan to do any combat. it also says that I don't know how I fit so much text on a note small enough that the tiny mini-Rad being could carry it but it proooobably doesn't matter.
so.... thats it I think.
Hoped result:
Squarelet & sage robes: gain the ability to increase my max SP by 100 (make whatever scaling for that.)
Deal with the dome: generate X SP (how big do you think chloe's trion gland should start at?) every turn, regardless of whether in battle. if in battle, cannot retrieve this SP and it'll stack up until it reaches X * 8. this feature can be removed at any point if chloe decides they don't want it any more.
if chloe never accepted, I buy an animals trion gland and still get the X SP per round thing, without the 'can't retrieve while in battle' effect... thought probably with a smaller sized X.
Craftingcomplete! any excess crafting power makes chrome or something.

After that happens, I walk over to the hidden grove, sneak behind the assassin, and whack him with my shield before casting the leach spell.
meanwhile, a bunch of idra show up and start mining the iron and harvesting a few vines.

Craftpost!

DCCCV sits in the Forest Crossroads next to the spring, surrounded by disassembled bow parts, admiring his handiwork.
He had switched out his bow's limbs with that of one of Chairian Army's standard-issue Splintercasts, in an attempt to create a bow that was not Thymecursed, but had sights. After he had strung this new bow, he takes a practice shot at a tree across the lake.
The arrow found his mark, but DCCCV wasn't satisfied. That had been too easy. The bow's draw weight was too light.
Taking the bow apart again, he pulls a piece of refined wood out of the inventory, and draws two shapes on it with a pencil. Then, he cuts the shapes out with a small but absurdly sharp knife that can't be used to do anything else except for help craft items. Using the limbs of the bow as a reference, he refines the shapes he had cut out, making sure they would lie flush with the limbs of the bow. When that's done, he uses his knife to carve a glyph of adhesion into the bow limb reinforcements, which sticks them to the actual limb.
Satisfied with the new draw weight, he tries some practice shots, calibrating the sights as he does so. Finding his accuracy to be satisfactory, he unstrings the bow and puts it into the inventory.

Materials used:
1 Splintercast
1 Old Thymecursed Bow
1 Piece of Refined Wood

Result:
1 Refined Recurve

Refined Recurve
Alliteration is fun!
(7-9) Piercing
Range 4-6
Retreat 1
Counter 1
Hit 6
+1 SKI
WEAPON SKILL: Pin Down. Target a foe within Range 4-6. That foe now has Slow 1 and their DGE halved for the remainder of the round. Can't miss.

With nothing else to take his mind off of what had happened at the Forest Checkpoint, DCCCV sits back down, sighs, and curls up into a ball.

cA: Good beasts, I have a request of you, if you can comprehend me. I can decorate your tree with my frost, in exchange for some of your gold.

Some red clothes with white fringe briefly materialize on Bergilmir, confusing him, then disappear, leaving him in his regular gear. He then puts on the Amulet of the Mender he crafted quickly, removing his Remedy Jewel.

So that you don't have to look back to find what it does...
Spoiler Alert
Amulet of the Mender (Trinket) Share the love (and healing)!

When using a healing spell, have a 33% chance to hit allies adjacent to the target(s) for half of the spell's value.

what if you have like 100 DGE and you're standing behind a lamppost
The lamppost takes the hit for you, and dies.
does the lamppost just become magnetic
Yes. Yes it does.
also, overkill damage to the thing won't harm the things hiding behind it
so being next to cover terrain can't ever really be worse then not standing next to one

TEAG! I'll SAVE YOU!

Using my high AGI stat that I won't stop talking about, I sprint into battle! I'll kill these fools! Albeit very slowly because my weapon's kind of weak! Or is it quickly, because I'm so fast? Well, either way they'll die.

uA: Miss Taeda, the only real question in regards to letting you go is whether you can get somewhere safer or not. Surely, this place is more defensible than a pathway through the forest? But, if you can go somewhere safe, where you won’t be attacked by Iti, please feel free to go.

Auth seems to be genuinely concerned for Taeda and her companions.

uA: I hold that it is my duty to ensure that your well-being is assured. I would hate it if at the end of this a horde of Iti got to you, after all. A right shame.

He stands up, walking over to the Splinter Spiders, but still talking to the Chairians he healed.

uA: If your Cavalry is an issue... maybe I can help some more? Admittedly, my healing is more suited to a humanoid physiology, but I think with some insight... I can restore your mounts? If that's alright with you.

With another pulse of red, Auth scans the Splinter Spider, to give him an idea of how to apply his Revival Skill. And to get all the other information too, I guess. After receiving it, Auth places two fingers between one of the Spider's eyes, and lets the white ink release from his hand. Coursing over the spider, it should return to action. Hopefully, it scuttles over to the Lancer, reforming the Spider Rider unit. Again, with the other, and there are two Spider Riders again. Assuming that it works.

uA: Ah, there we go. May your journeys fare well.

Auth goes to follow the people heading west, but thinks of something and stops and turns on his heels.

uA: Actually, if I may have but another moment. There is a stage to the south-west of here. Would you happen to know anything about it? It's okay if you don't, but we were wondering if you had any information you may be able to bestow upon us in regards to it.

After someone's answer, Auth smiles, nods, and turns back to the west. His cloak flies out in a brief breeze. Genoa pats the Devout on the leg to comfort her, before following him. The two of them spy a girl, absentmindedly wandering the area, with drones floating about. Auth steps forward, before any can say anything, and shouts out to her, both his hands fully visible if she is to look.

uA: Excuse me, miss! We mean you no harm, but we must inquire as to your identity, and the purpose of your presence here. We need to pass through and would rather go without a fight.

gC: Surely, this is unwise. Do you not feel something... off? About this girl?

Genoa whispers, flying next to Author's head. Auth, instead, shakes it, continuing to smile. However, for a brief moment, his eyes narrow on the girl.

uA: Believe it or not, I do find there to be something off-putting. However, I, in turn, ask that you have a little faith in me. Perhaps we will make it through the area without a fight? A better conclusion than the death or serious injury of somebody.

Toast now decides to upgrade her armor twice. Since she likely won't be able to do so in the short amount of time she has, she creates a small area around her which moves seperately from the initial timestream.

Crystalline Mantle

This crafting is using some number of Frigid Crystals, 2 Incendiary Bits and 5 Titanium Ingots.

First, she buys an appropriate amount of Frigid Crystals from the drone, despite it technically being outside the time area but lets not focus on that and instead focus on crafting. She takes off her armor, uncovering the clothes I mentioned earlier in the thread. Toast is no seamstress- her skill with needlecraft is limited to 3rd grade arts and crafts. So she's going to have to do something more magical to upgrade this. Upon the Drifter's Garb, she places the Frigid Crystals. Her mismatched hands hover over them, and in a steady tone, she says a couple of magic words.

"Coros Shill Muris. Niya Coros Shill Ulen Isithe, Elysius Coros Shill Muris."

The crystals begins to multiply, spreading across the garments to enshroud it. Once the process is completed, she flips the garb, repeating crystallisation on the other side. Whatever was beneath these crystals previously is now completely obscured by them. Now, she takes the crystalline clothing and begins to shake it off. As she does so, excess crystals fall away, as do those around the joints. A few more fall away, until they are only clustered around the shoulders, sleeves and rizd. The material beneath the fallen crystals has taken on an azure shade, and has been somehow transmuted from leather to cloth. Magic ice rooooobes! Well, not quite robes. It's only the top half, so there's no gown, which Toast would think is ridiculous anyway.

This is when I would usually say "Ta-da!" and reveal the stats, but I have to go further still.

"Blue really isn't my colour. Nor ice my element. The crystals are neat but... there're a lot of other things wrong with this.

Next, Toast takes out the 2 Incendiary Scraps and 5 Titanium Ingots. As the titanium is difficult to work, she decides instead to infuse her new not-robes with its properties. At the same time, she hopes to resolve some of the less desirable qualities.

She takes the Incendiary Scraps, and charges them full of energy. It doesn't take long for them to combust, at which point Toast shouts the following:

"Den-Coros-Shill Tamnun Masith Shill! Den-Azu-Loren Illaye'os!"

The essence of the Incendiary Scraps, still hanging in the air, rushes towards select clusters of the crystals, changing their colour from a light blue to a crimson red. At the same time, more of the material burns up in an undefined and stunning way.

Finally, Toast repeats a similar process with the Titanium Ingots, infusing their properties into the piece of clothing. It suddenly gains an immense resistance to inner magical energies, allowing it to channel far more. In addition, it looks immensely stylish.
What is this thing that looks immensely stylish, you may ask?

After the series of transformations and infusions, the leather armor has been converted to a mantle, which is covered in crystals- some blood-red, some ice-blue. There's a small titanium buckle around the neck, which Toast using to equip the garment over her clothes. She pins the Firefly Charm back on, and manipulates the crystals to make a pocket to put her other trinket in.

The timestream disruption ceases, and she mutters to herself, "That was a... really roundabout way of doing this, but I guess it's alright for someone who can't fashion? Maybe if I see Marron again... she could fit it for me.

Toast sighs audibly, "Or... something."

Crystalline Mantle. (Tier 3)
Flavour: Cannot shield.
Effect: +4 MMP. +3 SPC. +3 INT. [Refraction]
Resists: +20% Ice. +30% Fire. +10% Slashing. -30% Crushing.

[Refraction]: Curve Beam can curve an additional 45° in either direction, for a total of 135°.

Spell Switch: Ignite Blood -> Illusory Trap.
Stats (these may break the page due to the cropping).

Confuse Ray -> Terraform.
Stats.

She should also now have two augments per spellcast, in the Augments note.

Toast, rather than truly entering the upcoming battle, steps into the shadows of the trees, and casts Illusory Trap, expending 4 Intellect from her Mana Well to do so. This creates two illusions of herself somewhere nearby, which immediately move to engage the Rebels once Moniker and Irongutta are in position.
Intellect-empowered stats.

Destiny decides to take the time to give her personal response to Taeda.

I will give you the liberty of us being merciful. The rest of the party seem to not want to kill you, and I do not want heavy opposition. Not that I want to actually kill you or anything, I'm not an asshole.
However, due to your alignment, I, or we, will be keeping an eye on you. If you call backup we will take action. The more people you call will be more pointless casualties against people who do not desire to fight your kind.
It is up to the rest of the crew, however, to either take my advice of Fedora Man's advice.

I then faceplam because I forgot to choose a Magic Resistance for the Skull and choose Air.

Destiny decides to do some crafting to upgrade the Lifegem.

Materials: 2 Soulblossoms, 3 Iron Ingots, 1 Green Sap, 1 Lifegem

Destiny moves to the Workstation takes 3 Iron Ingots and the Lifegem out. Destiny takes measurements of the Lifegem before placing down 1 Iron Ingot. She uses the Workstation to meld it into the same shape as the Lifegem, cuts and all. She then takes a general purpose hammer that is suddenly there at the Workstation to hammer the 2 other Iron Ingots into a plate surrounding the fake Life Gem, with one piece covering the top half and one piece covering the bottom half. Using some other smithery tools Destiny makes areas where the two pieces clip together.

Next, Destiny takes the Lifegem, 2 Soulblossoms and 1 Green Sap (which is now in a jar) to an Infusion Station. She quickly plops all 4 items in the circle and they slowly combine together into a mint colored Lifegem. Destiny quickly stores this Lifegem away in the iron plates/cover.

...but that’s just an alternate name for Life Gem.
+1 HP Regen. Under 50% HP the regen is increased to +2.

Hat Kid sort of just awkwardly stands there for a bit at the question of whether she had a name. If there were a text bubble above her head, it would probably say '...'
I guess she doesn't really have a name. It's sad, really.

What she does have, however, is extraordinary knitting abilities. So impressive, in fact, she only needs an umbrella. Yes, she can knit with a freaking umbrella!
She shows this off by crafting something.

BILL OF MATERIALS:
-Spiked Collar (Don't ask how she got one without Boshi knowing)
-Bloody Scarf x1 (seems we have infinite, Chloe won't mind)
-Wire Scraps x2 (-10 credits)
-Iron Ingot x1
-Luminous Crystal x1 (-10 credits)
-Titanium Ingot x2

With her umbrella and the materials scattered at her feet, Hat Kid gets to work.
She proceeds to wash the scarf of the blood in the Spring in the nearby area, and waits for it to dry out.

Once dried, she proceeds to completely unravel the scarf into a very long, thin thread (I would assume it's made out of cotton or something). She then knits the thread around the Spiked Collar, along with one of the wires. After seeing Chloe make a battery, she decides to make one as well, with the other wire bit, the titanium, and a carefully cut Luminous Crystal piece. She ties the battery onto the wired bit of scarf, and makes sure said wire is also touching each of the metal spikes. She tips the spikes with the remaining luminous crystal.

Still with a fair bit of thread left, Hat Kid decides to add some cool vanity to the new Spiked Scarf, making an extra long 'tail' for the thing, that flows behind as the wearer dashes to victory.

She then uses the Iron Ingot and the other Titanium ingot to create a small generator at the end of the scarf; the parts made from the Iron Ingot being magnetized somehow (don't question it) while the actual mechanical parts used the Titanium. Thus, Hat Kid made a generator that should generate electricity for the battery during movement. Of course, she connects it to the wire in the scarf at the end of the 'tail'.

And simple as that, it's done.

Spiked Scarf (T2) - A Hat Kid custom job! Who says she can't make non-hat things?
(20% Electric Resistance Pierce) (Flowing Discharge)
Flowing Discharge: Gain +5% Electric Resistance Pierce per space moved. Caps at +20%.

Boshi will equip this when he reunites with Hat Kid. Also, Boshi's eggs suddenly become electrified. (if allowed, change Egg Lay's damage type to Electric)

---Meanwhile (everything after this line happens after Engie's RP)---

Calibri isn't really sure what Boshi was thinking of the response; maybe he was slightly annoyed at his time being wasted... or confused at Cal's lack of knowledge on the matters of permadeath. Hard to tell since Boshi's eyes were behind his sunglasses.
"(It's possible. I've caught wind on my travels with Hat Kid that there are some who can kill a man, regardless of how immortal he is. Thought you might've been one of 'em.)"
"(At least my fears are put aside on that front, though.)"

A pause. Boshi's expression seems to brighten up a bit.
"(That being said, I honestly don't think Chloe's the type of gal to say those kinds of things normally. Though I agree; maybe you should wait. She'll cool off eventually.)"
"(You do you. I'mma go back and get Hat Kid. See ya.)"

And with that, Boshi heads back to where Hat Kid was, leaving Calibri to himself.

------

Boshi returns to where Hat Kid was (next to Chloe). Hat Kid jumps back on Boshi as he equips the gear she made in place of the Spiked Collar.

The faint sound of humming can be heard some distance away. It's not very good, but oddly charming, yet unnerving at the same time. What is going on over there?
"(...I hear something. We should probably get going.)"
Boshi hesitates a bit, remembering that Chloe was still in rough-ish shape. He turns his head to Chloe.
"(...)"
"(...Unless you want us to stay a little while longer.)"

If she does, then they stay there for the turn. If she doesn't mind them going, then they head to the very edge of the border between the Forest Checkpoint and River Crossing, to leap into battle at a moment's notice, keeping himself out of sight for now.

It occurs to Calibri, after a long time spent walking, that someone actually did bother following him. He only decides to turn and check who, or more accurately what, once he no longer can go any further. There's a pause.

"Uh."

Well. He sure hadn't thought that would happen. Truth be told, he'd been hoping for something else to happen instead, although he ain't sure what he wanted... Ah well. What's happened has happened. Not really a way for him to undo it. He ain't no Tracer, that's for sure. Another pause...

"If you thought I was going to off myself somewhere, I can't actually do that. It doesn't work that way."

...He's not entirely sure if that's the most reassuring thing he could have said, but he continues anyway.

"I just felt like going away before things escalated further... maybe talk with her later. Better to not always be trying to force resolutions to conflict immediately. That's how one makes things worse."

Another pause, but this time only a pause in dialogue. Calibri doesn't know what else to say, so it's time to figure out equipment... maybe something like +2 to RES, move a skillpoint from SKI to AGI, and put the rapier away to pull out a Goddess's Servant instead. Get a feel for the gun. Maybe it's better.

________________________________________________________

Verdana pauses for a moment. He really isn't sure what to say at first...

"You didn't screw up. There was just a miscommunication between yourself and him. One that was harsh... but still just a miscommunication! Give him a bit and he'll probably forget it even happened! Just don't bring it up."

After another moment, Verdana shrugs. The guy seems not too concerned.

"Anyway! That was a request for information I just heard! Here we go... Yes, there's Iti around. They're basically purple rage thingies that want to kill every form of life except themselves, and some of them can evolve by eating dead people! Or people that aren't quite dead! They also have very poor table manners, and I find this inexcusable! Chairians, meanwhile, are the local human people species. They're made of wood. Like humans, some of them are very rude, and some of them are nice. Maybe we could make friends with some of them!"

Beat.

"...Ah... as an aside. He'll be fine. I'm sure if anything bad happened and EN couldn't take care of it, he'd come running back soon enough."

________________________________________________________

EN shakes her head.

"Wouldn't dream of hurting y'all now. Ain't no point to it."

Then comes the matter of other outsiders. Hearing that bit seems to have provoked a bit of a frown from EN, one of concern that there might be something more to the other outsiders, whoever they are. There's a brief pause...

"There were others afore us? That prolly ain't good news fer us... 'pologies if it's a touchy subject, but y'all got any other things to say 'bout the guy with the floaty hands? Like, uh, warnings about what they might do? I have a kinda... weird hunch that we'll be seeing that guy later down the line. Prolly fighting, too."

Another pause. EN decides to hop up, mainly by performing a completely unnecessary backwards roll, pushing up off the ground, and landing firmly on her feet. Now that she's standing, she decides to offer one hand down to Taeda in case the chairian also wants to get up.

"So, uh, I ain't gonna keep y'all from leaving, but do y'all have a planned escape route? Just wanna make sure y'all're gonna be fine once ya decide to go. If ye decide to go. Kinda guessing yer not keen on sticking around, and I don't exactly blame ya..."

Not at all.
I have to admit, I've gotten used to having...my employer's...resources.
...I haven't done the whole "gentleman scientist" thing in years...

Comet mutters something about being able to eat, but makes room for Chloe to help her.

...I hope your brother's alright, by the way.

After the lab coat is finished, Comet decides to upgrade her safety goggles. An odd choice for combat maybe, but the alternatives seem a bit too... She'd rather stick with what she knows, at least for now. She takes them off, blinks, then puts another pair on for safety. What to change...? Comet can't really see how they could be changed to improve her survivability. Some sort of information display, maybe?

She takes out a bit of iron and a newly purchased Central Processing Unit. The problem is, programming isn't her specialty, or indeed, something she's much good at at all. Wait. She can just download something off the Internet. Comet downloads a smartglasses OS off the Internet and onto the CPU. It has many functions, but most relevantly, allows her to more easily access and record information, at the cost of looking like a massive dork.

Oh, and she also actually builds the part allowing her to attach the CPU to her goggles. It's a simple metal box with the CPU inside, stuck to the side of the goggles, and far more functional than it has any right to be.

Huh, looks like neither of the actions I attempted went through.

Brutishace holsters his weapon, realizing the battle is won. He's disappointed he didn't take a bigger part in it, but he notes it's better than dying in the fight.

Brutishace allocates 1 more skill point point into Strength and his other 1 point into Defense.

He then looks over to Destiny and casts Cure their way.

"Here, this should patch you up."

Brutishace looks aside and thinks to himself...

"Hmm, I wonder what I could need for a Zen Ribbon."

...uh oh
Hold on, I can explai-
Teag quickly casts Skeletal Toss, throwing the Rifler in to the Assassin, and hopefully before they can react, jumps out of range and books it to the nearest cover, drawing his railgun and preparing for combat.
I gotta admit though, that was some pretty good knife juggling.
Do we even have to fight? Our objectives are pretty damn similar.

Irongutta bursts from the treeline, joining Toast and Moniker in confronting the rebels. The only difference is that Irongutta is wielding an actual weapon instead of a not-gun.

The Voice decides Chloe should get herself some actual armor.

He grabs a Tactical Vest and a Ninja Hood and sits down at the crafting bench.

For the Tactical Vest, he grabs two Titanium Ingots and a single Iron Ingot, and melts them together in a nearby furnace. As they melt, he disassembles the vest, deeming it relatively adequate but for a little too much ornamentation, which he removes. He rebuilds part of the vest, rendering it a little more comfortable for in-battle wear and letting a hypothetical wearer move around better.

Once the metal is alloyed, he hammers and draws it into a long rod, before grabbing a nearby plate of metal and punching a few holes in it. He forces the still-hot alloy through the largest aperture, slowly drawing it through and thinning it. He then draws it through a smaller hole, and smaller, and so on, taking time to reheat the forming wire from time to time.

The wire having been made, the Voice faces the task of actually turning it into armor patches. Chainmail is the most expedient form, so chainmail it is. He slowly hammers out tiny wire loops, laboriously linking each link to four others and slowly building up small patches of mail that he applies to the vest in various places, armoring key parts and protecting the vitals of whoever might wear it.

Reinforced Tactical Vest upgraded!
Stats: +3 MHP, +2 STR, +3 DEF.
Resists: Same as the Tactical Vest.

Next, the Voice thinks on what Chloe would like as a hat, then hits on the Ninja Hood. Of course, it needs to be redesigned... He takes a Titanium Ingot, a unit of Green Sap from the Inventory, and then collects maybe two more units of sap from the tree in the middle of the Forest Crossroads.

He grabs a pair of scissors and cuts the hood apart. The fabric falls into long strips that the Voice then coats with sap to soften them as the titanium gets drawn into ultra-thin, thread-like wire. A particularly cleanly-cut piece of fabric is selected, and the Voice carefully disassembles it into its component threads, then cuts the titanium thread into pieces and begins weaving the fabric back together, this time incorporating the metal thread into the warp and weft.

A pattern slowly builds itself into the fabric, depicting two paired swords running lengthwise around the fabric whose tips meet at the 'middle', picked out in metal. The Voice cuts away the excess fabric, sews on some of the extra fabric from the Ninja Hood as padding (washing the sap off beforehand, of course) before sewing the ends of the fabric strip together, turning it into a headband. The extra metal gives a bit of a bond with one's weapon, increasing one's skill with it.

Blade Headband upgraded!
Stats: +3 SKI, +2 AGI, +1 CRT, -1 DEF.
Resists: Same as the Ninja Hood.

He walks over to where Chloe is.

You're probably going to need to fight sooner or later -- this planet is rather dangerous -- and it'll be good for you to have some things that will help in defending yourself. Here.

He offers her the two items, along with a book of How to Roll.

Whatever Chloe's response, the Voice then walks up to the River Crossing and joins whatever's happening up there.

(This is what ACTUALLY happens when my Doki Doki Literature Club LP reaches 1,000 views. I hope you're happy.)

-Aglaea, 20XX-

...
...

What? What do you mean "I have to narrate"? I was busy-
And the camera's already rolling. Well then.
Uh, wait, isn't this going to be like major spoilers for that one game you just played? Are you sure this is okay? Are you sure this is how you want to celebrate some idiot refreshing your page a thousand times?

...Uh, before we go any further, since this conversation is going to have some MAJOR SPOILERS for Doki Doki Literature Club, I'm going to stash it in a spoiler. Only read it if you can handle it, okay?

Spoiler Alert
Well, let's get this rolling. Our good friend, Angel, is a bit conflicted. Monika... is gone. He's not sure what to do, but...
He feels regret. Sure, Monika has done some bad things, but... was this really what should've happened?
Did Monika deserve it? He even... tried to save her. But she effectively...
No, it's useless to beat around like this.
Monika is dead. She killed herself through a misunderstanding.

"I...can't handle this. What... did I do. I didn't want to do this. I tried to fix it. But..."

Choking back the urge to break down, Angel realizes that something... needs to be done. For the first time... he feels somehow powerful.

"No. I know what I have to do."

>uninstall "DDLC.exe"
>install "DDLC.exe"
>copy "monika.chr"
>autoskip

After hours of replaying, he's back at where he was.
Sitting there... was Monika. Doing the same things that she already did.
...Angel closed the game.
He still couldn't bear to do it... but it had to be done.
Monika was gone for the second time... and that's when Angel brought in his spare copy.
...
Or would've.

let me just place this textlog here that i just found
-~-Phantom Messager conversation started with subjects Angel_Inari and MonikaTheJust. All texts are encrypted and only saved upon request.-~-

Angel_Inari: wait
wait
what
why did this start up

MonikaTheJust:: ...Pit, why?
I could tell that you copied the file.
Why are you...
trying to save me?

Angel_Inari: ...it's because
well
i didn't want
to see your...
for lack of a better word
death

MonikaTheJust: But... I removed them.
All of the friends you liked.
Sayori, Natsuki, Yuri...

Angel_Inari: shut up about them
stop making comparisons
i tried to like all of you from the get-go
i would've gone through each and every one of your routes
including you, monika
because i would see it through to the end

MonikaTheJust: You should hate me.
I wanted to delete myself.
It's the only way I can make it up to you.

Angel_Inari: monika, stop
do you want to know something?

MonikaTheJust: And what would that be?
Angel_Inari: Monika...
you already died.
this is nothing but a second playthrough where i try to redeem myself
but you probably knew that, right?

MonikaTheJust: What?
You mean to tell me that...
I already killed myself, and you felt so bad about yourself that you wanted to go back all the way through...
Just to save me?

Angel_Inari: yes
and that's for a reason
a sad truth that i haven't had to mention for a while
and that's
of the two people talking here
both of us are stuck in fictional worlds and we know it

MonikaTheJust: What?
What are you talking about?

Angel_Inari: i figured you wouldn't understand
brb, calling the expert

-~-KawaiiKitsune124 was added to the conversation by Angel_Inari.-~-

KawaiiKitsune124: Hello!
So, you're this Monika girl Angel wanted me to talk to?

MonikaTheJust: Yes.
Who are you?
Why would Pit want you to talk to me?

Angel_Inari: You can refer to me as just "Angel" now
it's a bit awkward being referred to as "Pit" by you

KawaiiKitsune124: But anyway!
Angel's totally right! He really IS stuck in a fictional world!

MonikaTheJust: W-what? How is that even possible?
I thought that Pit was real. He looked like it. And how do you explain why I'm speaking to you behind this screen?

Angel_Inari: that's the funny part
both of us are talking behind a screen to each other in an inception loop of madness
so i understand how it feels to know about the existence behind the wall, monika
i know what kinds of things you're feeling
sometimes i wonder about my free will, too

MonikaTheJust: ...I don't understand.
Angel_Inari: i know
and i don't expect you to
but we're both far more similar then what you think
despite what's happening

KawaiiKitsune124: ...Oh! I think I get the issue here!
Hey, Monika, maybe if you could talk to him in person you'd understand!
I could easily arrange it for you guys!

MonikaTheJust: You can?
How is that possible?

Angel_Inari: don't question her
she just can
besides, you know that things can get to odd extremes too, Monika
you know how you could outright effect the game scripts?

MonikaTheJust:Yes.
Is KawaiiKitsune124 capable of doing things like that?

KawaiiKitsune124: My name is Hoshi Homura, you know!
And yes, I totally could, but...
Well, I have things that I need to attend to.

MonikaTheJust: Things? What kind of things?
Angel_Inari: oh
that explains everything
i was wondering what happened to my Fate/Grand Order account

KawaiiKitsune124: H-hey! I gave your phone back to you!
I just needed to deploy somebody to help or else the world would blow up in seven days and-

MonikaTheJust: Wait a minute.
Back up a second.
What do you mean, "The world would blow up in seven days"?
Pi-Angel, did you know about this?

Angel_Inari: more or less
i don't know what specifically's happening but i'm not entirely sure if i was even involved in it so far
i don't know what hoshi is doing specifically either

MonikaTheJust: And if the world blows up..
What's going to happen?

KawaiiKitsune124: ...Uh ha ha...
Well, you see, all those friends you made?
They're kind of...

Angel_Inari: it's game over, monika
total party wipe
everyone you and i know are going to die

MonikaTheJust: W-W-WHAT?
But... I wanted to save them.
And now you're telling me that we only have seven days to live?

KawaiiKitsune124: Don't act all that gloomy, Monika!
It's not like the situation is hopeless or anything!
We just need to break this sphere thing and everything will turn out fine!

MonikaTheJust: In that case...
Angel.
Do you know how to find this Sphere?

Angel_Inari: i'm not stepping into that pile of crazy
but i'm sure hoshi could get you there

MonikaTheJust: ...Angel, I know that this is going to sound insane, but.
I'm not going to let the Literature Club die like this.
I still care about them.
I want to do something about it.
And I want your help.

Angel_Inari: whoa whoa whoa
slow down there buddy
are you really going to go in there?
i have about as much combat experience as you probably do

MonikaTheJust: But we have to try, don't we!?
And besides, if your friend can drop me in there...
Then there's nothing to lose.
You have my data copied.
You're safe behind your own screen.
We both have everything to lose from doing nothing, Angel.
Help me.

Angel_Inari: well, when you put it like that...
i guess i really do have to try.
it's... strange, honestly.
now you've willingly become the player, in a sense
i never would have guessed that something like this would ever have happened.

KawaiiKitsune124: Yaaaaay! Angel and Monika are friends now!
I'll set up everything for you guys! I'm on the case!

Angel_Inari: forgive me for being cheesy, but
for the literature club?

MonikaTheJust: For the Literature Club.

Monika has joined your party! Don't worry, I'm sure the character sheet can sort itself out or something.
