Throwing dirt isn't even creative. People have been throwing dirt, along with even worse things, at each other for hundreds, nay, thousands of years. What's worse is that it somehow beat out numerous attacks that, believe me, I took the time to read, and believe me, if someone else was GMing, I would be quite happy to bet that one of those attacks would have won. If this is supposed to be a joke, then I'm waiting for the punchline.
Okay, so I kinda just checked out what's going on here... I kinda can't believe that worked. I'm super sorry if I did something wrong here, since something like that happened and I've only just started! And if I didn't seem naive enough, I'm not even totally sure what this Golden Aster does.
Like crystal said no one's mad at you jyanpu, as a matter of fact you did nothing wrong, people are just upset at tazz; however, congratulations, the Golden Aster is what's known as a Spoil of War their special items that are dropped by bosses, some of them are single use, some are multiple use, (I think ,I'm a noob too) as far as I can tell Spoils of War provide some form of buff to player's attacks, at least I think that's what the Golden Aster does.

...Ugh. It's just that Tazz quite literally (I'm quoting from a log someone gave) said, when he chose the winner: "| figure that giving the newcomer a spoil might make him feel like he'll stick." and "Really though, it probably would have been either Crys or you [Crystal's note - Irecreeper] if it wasn't for the fact that Jyanpu was a total new guy." A lot of the salt is/was over the fact that Tazz seemed to be favoring a new guy just because he was new.
...I mean, we've simmered down now, but that was more or less the salt's epicenter when it was going.

...Bleh. Who cares. After all... it's all just a joke.
No, uh, but seriously this is kinda the last straw for me. I'm off to Piono's reboot as soon as it drops, and after the reboot is a thing I'm either going to really de-emphasize 0 in my gameplay or outright drop it. Tazz has caused too much drama for me to feel that staying in DTG0 is a good idea.
Let us count the drama... The original DTT, which was over... listening to players, attack noping, the early player health, and paradox rolls. Then, TAZZPROBLEMS, which was all about the stated threat of the Coffins soulkilling their associated souls, and ended with Tazz rescinding that idea only because he hadn't explicitly stated it when the Coffins appeared. Now this, where Tazz basically tosses a spoil to a newbie as an incentive to stay around. Don't tell me that dirt block would have damaged a godmodder on any other turn. Not dissing you, Jyanpu, I'm just really saying that tossing dirt at a godmodder probably wouldn't have worked any other time.
Tazz, if you want newbies to stay around enough to toss a spoil to one when others seem to have the better shot, old players are going to leave. In with the new and out with the old, you might say. No hard feelings. Well, that last sentence was a bald-faced lie. Or Be Killed was more or less explicitly a best attack contest, and you, to paraphrase Generic, did the equivalent of giving a trophy to someone who wandered on stage with a rock. Again, not dissing you, Jyanpu. That was a literal quote, or so close to a quote as to not matter.
...While we're on the subject of annoyances, Omega Flowey and the Pact did less than nothing for the participants. Not nothing, less than nothing. Nothing came out of it except a PZ gatekeeper who is mopping the floor with practically everyone. And, considering we had seven people united in it, I'm honestly still a tad salty about that.
I can obviously see all the discontent here- I don't wanna drag this along any further, but I'll just say I probably would've stayed along regardless of whether I got the spoil or not, to be totally honest!
Why Jyanpu instead of any other new players, I dunno. I'd probably be saying that no matter which new player was picked and am probably just salty because I wasn't picked even though I was pretty new.
Yeah, that rubs me the wrong way too pi. Several of the newbs and relative-newbs had better attacks than jyanpu.
I will say this, I haven't been able to edit my post in thread yet because I haven't calmed down enough to make the post without doing something stupid. And I'm thinking I'm probably going to wind up missing out on this turn altogether because of that the way things are looking now.
But I think I'm going to try and take a lesson from this and the fiascos I made in my own session(s). I'm probably gonna want to have at least one somebody on call for big decisions so I don't wind up making big mistakes on a dime.
I think FBSN (not to mention most of the others) has a point. I won't say much, since I had only personally read Crystal's attack.~
In any other circumstance, would a dirt block damage a godmodder? Other attacks were strictly more CREATIVE, rather than UNEXPECTED. Creativity was what was judged over unexpectedness.
That's all I have to say, Toast out.

Wait no, it's probably worth mentioning I'm making a DTG manual. A lot of people in 0 don't know that. Might be done if I have an incident/Steam free weekend.

Everyone lost Godmodder damage and the Golden Aster to Jyanpu
if he quits can I have the spoil?
He ate the bread that he made from stone
He fell from the Temple, never broke a bone
Bowed down to the Emperor and watched as former King was overthrown
He sits alone on his throne.
What.
Are you serious right now tazz?
Seriously?
Nobody is impressed.
Nobody.

Nope, sorry guys, no Destroy the Godmodder relevant stuff here...
At least, not yet.
It is an answer to what?
You seen who he gave the aster to?
Not angry at jyanpu.
Not angry at all.
Just harboring smouldering resentment.
It'll go away soon.

We're not quite mad at you, everyone is salty at Tazz for the choice of winners. You did nothing wrong, it's Tazz.
(Very, very salty.)

Mankind Redefined
So that means that my overkill attack that took a whole month to put together is going to do nothing. There goes 20 hours of time for no benefit.
accurate representation of the playerbase right now:
