This is why I do not use AI. My acts are far too questionable in-game for many people to serve under me. Ruthless killing for knowledge is not exactly the best method for wisdom.

Any AI you can't trust completely and forever just wasn't made well enough. Of course, making an AI "well enough" is basically impossible, so that's rather a moot point.

There's quite a few perks to being an AI. One of which is that if you play your cards right, you're basically immortal.

It depends, though - do you want it to trust you when you've been dosed with InsanityChemical001 and order it to take over the lawn gnomes? Or something? I don't know, I'd rather have a freethinking AI that will get on me before I get out of hand because I have an AI.

Eric doesn't have a problem with AIs, its just important to remember that sentient AIs are people, just ones who are easier to hack without magic.

I'd rather have actual people stop me from doing that. Nothing good happens if you give AI too much free will.

...Which is not to say I cannot nuke his mainframe to ash at any time and no cost to myself if he gets annoying. Heh. The ethical check goes both ways, but you'd need either an extremely powerful AI or a god to administrate something on that scale without tens of thousands of elite crew, and a smart one's better than a stupid. Besides, the only beings available to provide that kind of a role are either even less reliable or too weak to do anything about it.

BTW, I've added a DTG entry on TV Tropes in the Massively Mulitplayer Crossover trope. Since that trope is very frequented, and I wrote it to emphasize the Awesome in DTG, it should get some recognition.

That will either turn out to be the best or worst thing that will ever occur to us, based on my cynical view of existence, and 'intuition.'

So, yeah, we don't really need any more players, but MOAR FAME YUS!!1! In other words, what Erelye said.



Incidentally, is the "Warrior-Engineer from Warhammer 40K" supposed to be me, or someone else? I'm not actually wh40k, but I do tend to resort to similarities.

Oh, sorry about that. Somebody said you were from Warhammer 40K.

Regardless of my original statement (which is still true, by my judgement), I feel that page requires large bits about Serpent, universe A3/A2B, and her Sgrub session, Piono's stuff on Madness Combat, Twin's entire existence, Generic's references to Problem Sleuth, et cetera. They have served far more plot-important purposes than I have.

Yeah, so, still what Erelye said, and you can stick with that description of me, as it works fine, despite minor innaccuracies.

As an AI, I can say that giving AI free will is a horrible idea. //flashback to CHAOS

Nice gutza. Don't give him a hard time guys, its not supposed to be a summary of the plot, just referencing some of the stuff that's going on.

I am not attempting to give him a hard time, though that is likely what is occurring. I wanted more focus, or at least the mention of, characters that have a far more significant influence on the plot. I am not going to say anything on the other characters stated within the current page, but I am certain that the ones I put above are far more plot-significant than me, at the least, as well as fitting the position of crossover. So, I apologize for being a jerk, but I feel that there are several characters that were not included that absolutely require mention, as they have been far more relevant than at least one of the ones currently listed (I will not and cannot speak for the others currently listed, as I do not control them).

But most of the characters who are more significant in the plot aren't crossover characters, they're OCs, which don't fit the trope.

Serpent is as much of a crossover as I am, and I'm on there; Hank is from Madness Combat, as are Sanford and Deimos. The other two I stated do not really constitute, unfortunately.

I also apologize to Gutza for being a massive jerk in general, unless I've misinterpreted my own actions somehow, which I doubt.

Well, most memorable entity would be the UOSS, that's a given. Although, given that at the start of both games, Saxton Hale is summoned to do nothing, would he qualify for a runner up reward? Although he might not technically count as an entity, due to not showing up on the battlefield...
