first, I google which foods hamsters like to eat, and the first result says "flame retardant foam" (DISCLAIMER: NOT ACTUALLY THE RESULT OF A GOOGLE SEARCH). because of my unquestioning belief in google, I decide to do that. however, the article says not to use that cheap type you can find anywhere. oh, no! use the legendary gluten-free non-GMO Narrative approved foam, which can only be found, or bred, at the top of the legendary Mount Hamster, where many have died!

I decide this will all be worth it if I can feed my hamster, and go on the quest! first, I need directions. luckily, this not-at-all suspicious guy with a cloak, skull tatoos on his biceps, a peg leg, and who is holding a bloody knife gives me a map- how generous! I eagerly thank the man, shake his hand, and go on my merry way! but wait, the map has a lot of twists and turns, with no apparent hazards to prevent taking a straight route. I consider asking the man, but decide he must have a lot on his mind, given how quickly his face twitches from neutral to psyco-smile. yep, a lot on his mind.
as such, I go straight across the open plains using a rock-board (a board made of rocks that i use my earth powers to move) and soar along, quickly arriving at the mountain.

~~meanwhile, at the first structure across the maps path:

"good question, keith"
"I hope he didn't skip us- we have all this awesome armor to give him so he can survive the trip"
"nah, I'm sure nobody could be that stupid."
~~back at the mountain:
a large golem awakens and lumbers down, before kicking me in the gut. I then levitate it with earth-powers, toss it back, and keep going.
~~meanwhile, at the 2nd-last structure:
OH GOD THERES SO MUCH BLOOD
~~lets ignore that, back to the mountain.
I notice that every last one of the defences is made of rock, then shuffle all the rock in the mountain around. this breaks all the traps, but I have to rest a while. once I'm done, I keep walking for a while until finally, I find the foam! I then feed the foam to the hamster, and smile as it grins at me widely! a success!
meanwhile, in the hamsters mind:
Oh deity damn it, this tastes horribl- Must Please Master, Must Please Master. Putting On Fake Smile..
Also I scan vengeful night.
right afterwards, I realise this probably qualifies for vengeful god is dead, at least in the spirit of the decision. still going to smash him Once, if I can, but thats it.

1's TSN: 4/20
Judgement: still 20/20

I glare at the Simumodder, then laugh because it's likely that LV2.0 will be getting a ton of health back from Adaptation.
Also I heal the Living Virus 2.0

Entity Orders: Yada Yada murder the boss, as usual

Alright, upon a bit of a misunderstanding in the main chat I feel sorta bad about having Vengeful Night appearing to shrug things off, so I'm making it clearer that I consider Vengeful Night and the Vengeful God Incarnate to basically be totally different boss fights.

As a result, I'm handing out the third spoil of the game.

The Chalice of Blood is given out to Emerald_Mann. This five round charge spoil draws upon the life force of it's owners allies to fuel the life force of others of its allies. When used, it drains a moderate amount of life from a targeted ally entity, then restores three times that amount of health to another entity.

Also related to Vengeful Night, there's a new poll checking to see if I should add a certain something after the ACT BOSS dies the death. Go check that out on the front page of the thread.

I pull out an Incredibly Generic Gun and unload a clip into the Vengeful Night. I then realize that the Incredibly Generic Gun is magazine-fed.

last charge until hell: 3/15 (+1 from Darkside)

<RESPAWNING>
Puppet Plague: 12 / 20 (+4, Simu, JOE)
Attempted Cure -> Marron is Going to Instantly Kill a Guy: 5 / 5
+1 to JOE
+1 to Variant

...Marron is currently dead. It's certainly a first for her. While Ette would normally be a lot more panicked, she knows a guy with a truck. The driver nearly runs over Ette as it delivers a life bottle to her. The driver then speaks for the first time. He sounds really, really stupid.

??: oh no
??: rip marron
??: she was good girl
??: anyway, smash vial on ground for rez
??: will work
??: okay bye

The truck driver (probably the Supplier) rides away, running over a creeper on his way out. Ette prepares the grounds for a resurrection, while Marron floats around in limbo. Marron will almost certainly instantly kill her murderer when she respawns; the sheer malice is somehow detectable from even Limbo...

You probably feel kinda silly for not killing the Vengeful God with those charges, don't you?

15/15 Getting the Basics Down (+2 Ire/JOE)

Beta receives an e-mail from his sponsor.

Good job!
You’ve managed to earn (with no small amount of help) your first entity!
Though, just to make sure you can handle it, I’ve decided to make it fairly basic.
You’ll love it, though! I promise!

Before he has time to reply, Beta watches as a strange mass of white goop emerges from a crack in the ground near him, approaches him, and stops, as if waiting for something. Beta stands perfectly still, seemingly dumbfounded by the appearance of this creature, until he receives another e-mail.

What are you waiting for?
Get it to go attack something!
Preferably without touching it!

This e-mail came with an attachment, detailing the stats and abilities of the entity.

Basic Slime.txt
HP: 35000/35000 pH: 14
Passives:
Superbase: Gain 1000 (or more appropriate number) HP of regeneration for every pH above 10 (or more appropriate number) while pH is above 10 (see previous). Immune to the status condition “Basic” (this effect applies before “Basic” can come into effect). Take 25% (or more appropriate number) less damage from entities with the status condition “Basic”.

Actives:
Basic Attack: Deals 500 damage per pH to 1 target.
Base Attack: Deals 500 damage per pH to 1 target, and removes 1 pH from the Basic Slime and adds 1 pH to the target. Can only be used while pH is greater than 7.
Ion Cannon: Can only be used (and charged, if this ability is made to require charge) while pH is 7 or less. Deals 10000 damage, and removes as many pH from the target as necessary to make the Basic Slime’s pH equal 14, and then adds that many pH to the Basic Slime.

Relevant Status Effects:
Basic: Automatically applied to any susceptible entity with 14 or more (yes, you can have a pH more than 14) pH. Negates all passives that can be negated, and prevents (either the charging or the activation or both, whichever seems more appropriate) of charged abilities. Removes 1 pH per turn, and lasts for (pH at application of status - 7) turns or until pH reaches 7 or less, whichever comes first.
Acidic: Automatically applied to any susceptible with 1 or less (yes, you can have a pH less than 1) pH. Any attempted healing of the afflicted entity deals half of the restored HP as damage to the healer (for self-heals, healing effect is halved). Adds 1 pH per turn, and lasts for (7 - pH at application of status) turns or until pH reaches 7 or greater, whichever comes first.

Now understanding (kind of) how the Basic Slime works, Beta orders it to use Base Attack against the Vengeful Night, or, if that isn’t susceptible to pH and/or the Basic status, to use Basic Attack against one of the Apostles of Blood.
He then joins it in its attack by attacking the target with a rake. He starts out by using the fan end, but then he takes that off and just starts swinging the pole itself.
Unless the whole concept for the entity gets nulled, in which case Beta just targets one of the Apostles of Blood with his rake.

...I stare at the vengeful night.
"Darnit joebob you said this wouldn't do anything bad."
After a bit more dumbstruck staring I feel the utter rage from... somewhere. Marron, probably, given that there's no visible source.
I scribble a quick note.
Spoiler Alert
Hey Marron! if you're reading this then you've successfully come back from the dead, and we are now (more or less) even. Seriously, those legal documents were very much valid. I may be many things, but I am not a liar. In any case I know you're upset about the whole "being dead" thing but can you at least focus your fury on stopping the vengeful night before it does... whatever it's trying to do? we can go back to our regularly scheduled mutual dislike afterwards.
-1412
PS (heh, pun): Attached is a courtesy +2. Well fought.

I seal it in an envelope and hand it to Ette."Excuse me, it's Ette, right? Could you give this to Marron when she gets back? I promise you it's not a trap."

Anyway, time to test out this wonderful toy!
I examine the nightmarron, and, remembering that it's a sniper rifle, open up the ammo compartment to find what I'm assuming are dust rounds. I combine some bullets with the horrendous brews I brewed up a while ago and load it, gagging a bit at the stench as I do so. Seriously, these brews are horrible. It's probably not safe to drink one, and even less safe to have one fired into your body via bullet casing.
Good thing the gun's pointed at the apostles of blood! *click*

PETAL DANCE GO
I begin to use the pokemon move petal dance, but realize that there's no flowers nearby and I'd just get confused at the end anyway. Besides in all likelihood this scythe's sharper than flower petals... Anyway.
I begin running towards the Vengeful Night. I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna be able to reach any higher than this thing's toes so I'll just have to shadow of the colossus it.. I strap the scythe to my back and start climbing. Unless it's not standing on the ground, in which case I materialize the ammo with the heaviest knockback I have and load it into the nightmarron, and using it to rocketjump high enough to begin climbing. Either way, Eventually I get to the top of the highest wings. Oh hey, it's surprisingly nice up here. I take a minute to enjoy the view before readying the scythe and jumping off. On the way down, the scythe hooks the joint that connects the wing to the Vengeful Night's back. My momentum swings the scythe around and around the joint, cutting deeper and deeper into it with every revolution. Eventually I'm thrown off, but not before doing some pretty sweet damage.

I'm finally going to use my Levelling system for something!

System

Syche!
What the hell are you doing here?! This isn't some sort of stupid Moniker/Tazz adventure that deals 12 damage to the Godmodder!
WOAH! Get the gorilla outta here! This is my totally cool, new and evil backyard! Oh, uh... that isn't an actual rose bush!! It's a... totally evil Establishment bush! Yes! Exactly!
NOT MY TREE-HOUSE! THAT'S WHERE I DO MY READING CL- Uh... I mean, EVIL MEETINGS WITH OTHER VILLAINS THROUGH ESTABLISHMENTSPACE! Yes! Uhhh... Wait, no no no no! DON'T TOUCH THAT!
NO!! THOSE ARE MY PLANS FOR MY LEVELLING SYSTEM! Alright, alright, I'll spill the beans!
HAH! DOUBLE SYCHE! NOT READY YET, SUCKER!

Trickle goes up to the Vengeful Night and slap him in the face.

Trickle: No! Bad ACT BOSS! Go back to the Void!

However, the Night wouldn't budge. It just stood there.
Looks like he's actually going to have to destroy this creature.

Trickle: UNLEASH THE EDGE!

EDGE

Warning - This will melt your eyes. It's that edgy.
ACTUAL WARNING - TURN BACK, HEATHEN! THE EDGE WILL OBLITERATE YOU!
It's too late... You're doomed...
incomplete

That horrible poem/rap/whatever it was deals severe damage to the Vengeful Night... However, Trickle isn't done just yet.

Trickle: I'm not done just yet.

Yes, that's what I said.

Trickle: Oh.

I decide that I must go on that quest I mentioned to become a godmodder! normally, I would probably come up with some barely plausible way to find out how to do so, but I am on the [PS] team, so I ask the simumodder how he initially became a godmodder, as well as requesting he respond to my message privately.
there isn't much more to say, in all honesty, at this point.

Since it's a well-known fact that every great quest includes at least 10 dusty, massive, old books minimum that at some point will be needed to proceed, i proceed to steal every single godmodding related book i can within the Simulation, and then create my own copy of them, and then burn the rest. Because of the above rule, JOE's quest will undoubtably be greatly slowed.

Next, since every great quest also involves a great treasure, i go out of my way to plunder all the treasure and find all the treasure maps, including the so-called "legendary" ones shattered into multiple pieces. Being a descendant, this proves stupidly easily, and i manage to gather up and steal the buried treasure of several legendary pirate-kings among other things. I also perfectly memorize all the maps in a feat of implausibility, before burning them all. If there are any books among the treasures, same protocol as before applies.

Finally, i row a rowboat up to a massive island. Rocky and with sharp cliffs, it is built around the volcano, a wooden platform of which is attached to the top. It has a name, but i just decide to call it Volcano Island. For whatever reason. Regardless, i supply the tribe of water moles that has settled it with a sizable portion of the aforementioned wealth. By which we mean a tenth. They promptly proceed to sacrifice it to their fire gods, by throwing it into the volcano. Yes, the entire thing.

Generic Fire God #2421 awakens, baited into existed by the massive amount of god. It is promptly teleported to the battlefield, where it fires out all that gold and treasure in a massive molten beam into the Vengeful Night. This has the side effect of turning it into a massive pile of treasure, since the gold for some reason is doomed to always take the form of treasure. It also turns it into a gold statue. Suddenly, the Spanish Conquistadors notice a gold statue in their silver mines. They promptly arrange for the local natives to slave themselves to death mining out the massive thing, moments before it is shipped overseas and (again) minted into coins.

Those coins are then followed by a flood of gold in from Mexico. This causes a ton of inflation, devaluing the Vengeful Night in the process. The Vengeful Night is greatly depressed by it's sudden lack of worth, moments before the entirety of the coins made with it are somehow sunk during the Spanish Armada. The Vengeful Night horribly drowns, but not before attempting to come alive as a devalued coin construct. Which fails, as sea currents slowly scatter the coins.

My word this thing's cool. BUT I'mma put it away for now.

I pull out a flashlight with a few billion lumens of brightness and point it directly at the vengeful night. As night is dark, and a few billion lumens is obscenely bright, this should damage him incredibly.

Puppetratster and Rat Seraph, you get treats for being cute provided you attack the vengeful night! And there's a pop-smart in it for Gene Error if the zomboss mech hits a weak Apostle of Blood!

Okay, NORMALLY that action would be sufficient to steal Nightmarron back, with a little bit extra, but as it is... that's not really fair to 1412, so instead I'm translating it into player damage.
Of which, thanks to SMASHing, you deal 15.
Your flame retardant foam, however nasty it tastes, is super effective, to the point that when your hamster mysteriously bursts into flame, it gains back all of its lost hitpoints instead of burning.

Vengeful Night: "The time has come. The bell will ring. The new world will come. Rise, my servants. Rise and serve me. I am death and life. Darkness and light."
Passives:
Bloody World: "A downpour of blood, but a final harbinger of the violence both already passed and yet to come." Gains 1 Blood for every Apostle of Blood on the field at the end of the round. Upon reaching 0 hitpoints all Blood saved up will be expended in the form of healing, 2000 hit points per blood. If blood count goes over 50, all excess blood will be expended in the same fashion.

I glare at the Simumodder, then laugh because it's likely that LV2.0 will be getting a ton of health back from Adaptation.
Also I heal the Living Virus 2.0

Entity Orders: Yada Yada murder the boss, as usual

3000 health restored to the Living Virus.

QUOTE (pionoplayer @ (time=1491593994))
Alright, upon a bit of a misunderstanding in the main chat I feel sorta bad about having Vengeful Night appearing to shrug things off, so I'm making it clearer that I consider Vengeful Night and the Vengeful God Incarnate to basically be totally different boss fights.

Go do something useful like update your stupid thread, would ya?

<RESPAWNING>

That's okay, Vengeful Night's going to drop something cool.
You respawn.

QUOTE (variant @ (time=1491606022))
15/15 Getting the Basics Down (+2 Ire/JOE)

+1 Emerald/Ire
13/20 An Affront and a Front (+2 Jon/Ire)

Hoooo boy another complex entity.
I might need to make a complexity limit if stuff gets too out of hand, the number of entities with convoluted gimmicks keeps getting out of hand.
Either way, Basic Slime added.
You swing your rake with extreme vigor, dealing 6000 damage to an apostle of blood.

QUOTE (1412 @ (time=1491612508))
...I stare at the vengeful night.

The Simumodder has sent you his response.

QUOTE (Battlefury @ (time=1491762691))
Since it's a well-known fact that every great quest includes at least 10 dusty, massive, old books minimum that at some point will be needed to proceed, i proceed to steal every single godmodding related book i can within the Simulation, and then create my own copy of them, and then burn the rest.

The Living Virus and Huntermobile decide to join up for a TEAM ATTACK! and the virus mounts itself on the front of the Huntermobile, which barrels forward at top speed before the living virus applies a physics glitch that launches it up high into the air before coming crashing back down in the middle of the Vengeful Night's face, dealing 20,000 damage. Crazy_Zilliness lifts up into the air and growing a pair of angel wings, before abruptly losing them and smashing face-first into the still-recovering Vengeful Night for 15000 damage.

While several other entities charge their way up to the Vengeful Night, Okayish_Chloe mutters a healing spell under their breath, healing Crazy zIlliness for 5000 health. The Puppetratster climbs up on the back of the rat seraph and the two charge with adorable little squeaks. What's less adorable is the stinging opening they leave for the Zomboss Backup Mech to attack. 23000 damage. The Screaming Man continues screaming. 2000 damage to everyone who's not AS. The Reaper jumps forwards and smashes his scythe into the face of the injured Apostled of Blood, dealing 4000 damage to it.

The Basic Slime blurbles up a storm, then smashes into the weakened apostle of blood, losing one PH and killing the apostle of blood.

The Apostles of Blood split their action, first three of them rip apart the living virus, reducing it to scraps of coding... or try to. I forgot about armor from Fleeced and they only deal 21000 damage. The other two focus on healing Vengeful Night, restoring 20000 health. Vengeful Night summons up another one its Apostles of Blood and then shrieks, calling down white lightning from the skies... it is a massive storm that threatens to wipe out several entities... until the goalposts move. All of the lightning strikes the goalposts. 20000 damage to the goalpost hamster. It gives a pitiful little squeak then poofs into a puff of smoke.

On the PS side, the swarm of puppet rats, finally not getting spawn camped, sends its regards to the Vengeful Night for 2000 damage. The work mechs and security bots all band together, transforming into VOLTRON, INVOKER OF COPYRIGHT STRIKES. And using the power of copyright they strike down the newly spawned Apostle of Blood. The Simumodder decides to play golf, so he pays his two caddies (ire and JOE) their daily +2 and then takes out his biggest golf club. "FORE!" He then proceeds to gently put one of the apostles of blood over a few feet, where it gently taps the zomboss mech.
They both explode. Killing the apostle and dealing 30000 damage to the zomboss mech.

Beta turns toward 1412.

Alright…
So…
1412?
Yeah, that’s it.
We’ve talked before.
Sorry to ask this of you, but…
That artifact there.
The Night-something.
Can I have it?

In the event that 1412 responds like any rational human being
Oh, well.
I guess I’ll need ano--

Before he can finish his thought, he gets an e-mail.

Hold that thought.
This is probably important.

He pulls out his phone, opens the e-mail, reads it, sighs again, and puts his phone back into his inventory.

Sorry about that.
Actually, extend that to the next couple of things I’m about to do and say as well.
I’ve been told I’m not supposed to take no for an answer.
So, uh…
Have at thee, I guess.

Then, before 1412 can react, Beta runs up, grabs their leg, and proceeds to swing them over his head.
1412 then slams down hard on a conveniently-placed massive spring platform and bounces off into the sky.

...
Do I even have to ask?

Beta follows him up, and he meets 1412 at a point slightly below the apex of their bounce.
And by “he” I mean the massive spear he pulled out on the way up.
The two then proceed to fall down, right back onto the spring.

But it’s at this moment that a refrigerator proceeds to fall from the sky right onto the platform next to them, giving them a massive double bounce and sending them even further into the air.
Beta then swings the spear back around so 1412 flies off it into the air beneath him, releasing the spear in the process, and pulls out a machine gun. Then, he unloads the entire clip, while the two are falling back down, and falls just faster than 1412 for just long enough that he can get 1412 in a choke hold by the time they have touched down.

The two land on the spring again, but this time, there’s an entire mountain landing at the same time as them, which gives them the extra force necessary to reach escape velocity and be flung into space.
As the pair approaches a nearby planet, Beta ties a massive rope around 1412’s waist and pushes them toward it. This lowers 1412 so much that they start to experience massive friction from the atmosphere, which gives them the equivalent of history’s worst ever carpet burn. Before this can actually slow the pair down enough to send them careening toward the planet, though, Beta pulls 1412 back up, and they meet in the middle, with Beta having his fist outstretched for the meeting. Then he pushes 1412 back down again, then pulls them up again, over and over until they have completely turned around and are flying back toward the planet where all of the rest of what’s going on is taking place.
Beta holds 1412 out in front of him, so they take the brunt of the reentry forces as the two crash back down, this time not on the spring.
He then picks up Nightmarron from 1412, while the latter is unconscious or otherwise unable to retaliate due to the forces inflicted upon them.

Sorry about all that.
Thanks for this, though.
Also, have this as…
Compensation.

He then drops the +2 mentioned at the end of the post onto 1412.

But all of this is assuming that 1412 doesn’t just hand Nightmarron over upon someone simply walking up and asking for it. But, just in case...

If 1412 does it
Oh, really?
Well, uh…
Thanks.
Also, take this.
As a payment of sorts.

Beta then takes the Nightmarron, tosses 1412 the +2 mentioned at the end of the post, and walks off, muttering that he didn’t believe that would work.
Then, he basically does all of this, but with 1412 replaced with the Vengeful Night.
And without the part at the end about taking Nightmarron, because that would just be redundant and/or silly.

For reference
The basic idea to snipe Nightmarron was planned before I put up this placeholder, but the attack itself was written after some stuff (I don’t know how much yet) was posted beyond it. I hadn’t actually read any of it at time of writing, and I didn’t know whether or not someone else had already claimed Nightmarron in a later post (though I thought that that would be likely). When I had come up with this idea, I had thought that I could take advantage of the situation JOE had left in place from the end of the last turn to get what was essentially a free artifact. But, I had no intention of doing anything that resembled placeholder abuse. So, in summary, while this might or might not be a bit of a scumbag move depending on who you ask, I would rather have someone mad at me for blatant opportunism, unprovoked aggression, and complete disregard for ownership of artifacts than for trying to abuse placeholders.
And before you ask, I decided that I would write all of this because at time of writing I was of the understanding that it would be unlikely that this would not be contested, and decided to take some measures to try to support my case before I would need to have one, and that I might be deleting this spoiler later if I never ended up needing it.
Because, if you couldn’t tell, I like having flexibility on possible points of contention, with possible outcry over this move being one such point.
