You tell Build you want to be treasurer. He seems to frown slightly, but you can't be sure. He quickly turns his frown upside down.

"Great..." he says, "Now, Blue's been doing most of your job, so you should talk to her after our next meeting."

Before you can reply, Blue says, "You know, I'm right here... but yeah, stay after our next meeting."

You nod, then ask when the next meeting is.

"We meet for an hour and a half after school every Monday and Thursday," Blue replies, "...it's a rather time intensive club."

You nod again, then recall that today is Tuesday.

"On that note," Blue says, "If you ever need to focus on school or something, go for it. Just tell me."

You nod yet again.

"Alright, meeting dismissed," Build says, "If you could even call this a meeting."

Even after he says this, none of the other three move to actually... leave. Instead, they begin talking about some unrelated matter. After a few minutes, you excuse yourself and leave the room to head home.

You begin to settle into a routine. The next two days pass by uneventfully. After school on Thursday, you follow Build and TT2000 to the student council room. There are about 10 other people in the room. Considering the small size of the school, this must be most of the members. Still, it seems a few of them are still missing, as the meeting doesn't begin. Build escorts you around the room, introducing you to the rest of the students, but then wanders off to converse with someone else. You lean against a wall, and look around the room. You notice someone entering the room. He's one of the students who wouldn't let you sit with them on that first day... You've seen him around with a small group of what seem like ne'er-do-wells. No one else in the room seems to have noticed him.

Will you talk to the suspicious student?

You walk up to the suspicious student and introduce yourself.

"Name's Crusher," he replies, "I'm the leader of the better council at this school. You should join us."

Uh... Oh, he must be talking about that rebel council Build and Blue told you about at the club fair ...you're still not sure how to react though, so you settle for shaking your head.

Crusher shrugs, then speaks into the room, "Anyone else want to join the winning side? There's only room for three more."

At this point, everyone in the room notices Crusher. You look around behind you. Build is staring at him with surprising intensity, given what you know of his personality. Blue seems fairly indifferent, or at least she's not showing her reaction. Oddly, TT looks slightly nervous... He catches you looking at him, and quickly averts his eyes. No one moves or responds for a few seconds. Until finally, one of the younger students pushes another forward. Everyone stares at them. The two sheepishly walk towards Crusher. A few jeers from the room, but not many. Crusher bends down slightly, and says something to the two younger students that you can't hear. The three leave the room. Those left are silent for a minute, waiting for Build to say something. You're... not sure why everyone is so somber, to be honest. This rebel council thing is weird, to say the least.

Build finally says, "Even with Sammy here, Crusher's council is now only one turncoat from outnumbering us. I didn't expect this to become so close, so quickly, but... I know Crusher's been pressuring some of us here through various ways, and some of these ways have been less than moral. ...ultimately, your wellbeing is more important than this council. So if you desert, I won't hold it against you, and I hope no one else here will."

Some quiet murmurs of assent from around the room.

"Thanks everyone," Build says, "I'll go ahead and call off today's meeting. Blue, TT, Sammy, stay behind for a bit."

Everyone else in the room begins to leave. Build moves to sit at the same round table as yesterday. The three of you follow.

"Sammy," he says, "You must have questions, and you should know what's going on. Everyone else does, at least to a point."

What will you ask?

Inb4 Engie makes an appearance as that one teacher who's really bad at his job and the only reason he isn't fired yet is the students are quite happy with his non-strictness

You aren't even sure what to ask, so you just ask for the full story.

Build nods, "Crusher formed his council near the end of last year with a few friends of his. He was a member here before then. I'm not sure why he left, and honestly, no one really cared enough to ask. His little rival council didn't really do anything until this year... or so we thought. It turns out he spent the summer building up... personal information on the students in the council. "

Build takes a drink of water before continuing.

"Since the start of the year, Crusher's been using that information to try to get people to switch to his council. For a few people, he just told them what they wanted to hear and they joined him. For the rest, he's had to use... other ways of persuasion. We've lost like five members in a month, not even mentioning the emotional damage a lot of the club's suffered..."

Blue interjects, "...this poor girl called me in the middle of the night last week, bawling and asking for help. Crusher had threatened to-"

She seems to catch herself, "Anyways... Blackmail, threats, extortion, Crusher's been doing it all. To what end? Well, none of the people he forces into his club go to the meetings, of course... but they only have to be on the list. When- if his club outnumbers ours, well... His council gains legitimacy, and we lose it."

You had been holding the question back, but at this point, you have to ask how Crusher's gotten away with it.

"Considering what some of the people at this school have done..." Blue replies, "...let's just say a lot of the students here are the children of some pretty important people."

You nod. You're not the child of anyone important though... as far as you know. You then ask what happens if Crusher's council becomes legitimate.

TT says, "Since club involvement is basically mandatory, the student council holds a bit of power over every single student's life."

Build continues, "You've heard what Crusher's done, without any real power, to the members of this council. Imagine what he could do to every student in the school if he had absolute control of the student council. ...I don't have anything close to that amount of authority, Crusher's council is almost a cult of personality."

You nod again. You think you get what's happening now. Damn, this is actually pretty serious. Good thing you don't have anything to hide... Well, probably not, anyways. You do have one last question though, even if it's unrelated. You ask how many students are at the school.

Blue replies, "About two hundred ...I wouldn't worry about that though, you probably won't need to know the names of more than twenty of them."

Build says, "Blue doesn't know the names of more than five of them."

"That's not true. I know at least..." she counters, then pauses, "Fifteen."

Build chuckles, "Now, meeting dismissed."

TT and Twin leave within a few minutes. You remember to stay to meet with Blue though. She's opened up the printer in the corner of the room, and is peering into it.

"Alright, I'm going to go get some ink from the printer room. There's still a few more sheets I need to print for you..." she says, "You want to come along, or no?"

"Alright, let's go," Blue says, swinging her bag onto her shoulder.

The two of you leave the room, Blue locking the door behind you. You begin to walk towards the printer room. You decide to ask why TT seemed nervous earlier.

Blue shrugs, "If I had to guess... I'd say Crusher's putting pressure on him now. It'd be quite the dramatic finish if the council's third-in-command doomed it... or something like that."

You nod, the hesitate for a second, before asking Blue if she's been pressured by Crusher.

"Nope. Not yet, anyways..." she replies, "Not that I have anything to hide, of course."

Of course. Hmm... You thought better of asking Build a few days ago, but perhaps Blue would be more willing? She did ask you the same question right after you met her, after all.

Will you ask Blue why she got sent to this school?
