Toast averts her eyes, looking conflicted. She slowly turns back.
Why is there such bad blood between you and Gladius? ...I would have thought you two would have gotten along. >final rush with present. Alt suddenly realises what day it is, how there's something she needs to clear up. She walks over to Toast, fistbumps her (nothing more), then climbs into the closest tree to have a nap. >Vote: Final Present
--- Because I didn't make this clear enough last turn for some reason, I open --- Chloe called Marron over to help with the fishing experiment (which really was something he just wanted to point out). Knowing that something was going to happen between Marron and Chloe, he simply just hung back, not wanting to get involved, continuing to fish. Considering his previous attitudes, he didn't really want to risk it. His suspicions were correct when Marron threw Chloe into the lava. Good thing she was pretty much made of fire. And even as Marron left, he still stuck to his fishing as if nothing ever happened. He hauls up his line after feeling a tug on it. After, he takes the time to think for a moment... perhaps he should just keep his mouth shut for a while? Eh, perhaps. As the last of the blood fades from his skin and clothing, he casts his line out again after putting another woodworm on. While he's waiting for another tug on the line, he decides to upgrade the gear of a neglected useful person on the team. He waltzes up to Teag. "Hey, can I borrow your gear for a sec?" If so, he takes the Engineer's Hardhat, the Engineer's Vest, the Temtry Wrench, and a generic Mana Orb from basicitemlandia, and begins crafting. This is gonna be good. Of course, Dark takes his time with each of these. Perfection is better when not rushed. INPUT: Engineer's Hardhat (x1), Gold Nuggets (x1000), Cobalt Bars (x2), Diamond (x1), Redstone (x5), Wire Bits (x2), Runic Alloy (x1), Soul (x2) Hardhats are the best way to protect your head from falling debris. There is no falling debris in the mindscape. It's mostly just for style, which gives it it's strength. I guess it also protects your head a little? Eh. The vanilla hardhat isn't anything special; just a piece of yellow plastic. Not totally stylish, but it gets the job done. Thing is, if you really want to not become just another hatless handyman, you've gotta get something more spectacular. I melt down all the Gold Nuggets and Cobalt Bars. While I do that, I carefully take out the comfort padding making sure not to rip it. A box cutter was good for this purpose. After it was all cut off, I take out the molten Gold. I formate it over the hardhat smoothly, it being the thickest up top, and paper-thin where the comfort cushioning would go, in order to keep everything from becoming too uncomfortable up in under there. This uses up most of the Gold. The Hardhat was a fair bit heavier, but nothing a normal man couldn't handle. Next, I take the Cobalt out, and form it into 6 long, malleable strips. I fuse two of these strips to the outside circumference of the hardhat (a fair bit above that, actually) to retain that classic hardhat look. I fuse 4 more near the top, again, to retain that signature look. Then the last one goes directly on the top. It looks so much like a multicoloured hardhat already! I take the Diamond, and infuse it with the Redstone. The gem glows a bright red, with red arcs of lightning jumping off it every now and again. I proceed to make a slot for this Redstone Diamond out of Runic Alloy, directly under the central strip. The metal was difficult to work with; it required a more magical approach to the smelting process to melt and cool. Intense fire magic was required to melt, and ice to harden. Magic wasn't exactly my forte, so I had the help of a few Souls; one to melt the thing a bit, and after forming it into the desired shape, one to harden it. The result was a trapezoid-like shape with a hole in it, fit for a certain gem. I fuse this shape to the Hard hat via application of a bit of gold. I take the Redstone Diamond, and fit it in the slot made from the Runic Alloy. To seal it in place, I infuse the Wire Bits with the rest of the Gold, and surround the diamond with a circular piece of wire, with two parts of wire coming off the sides of said circle. The end result looked majestic; a beautiful combination of gold, purple (I guess this is the color of the Runic Alloy?), red and blue. After all was said and done, I re-insert the inside padding into the improved helmet, do some enchants to help with mana conservation involving sentries, and doing some touch-ups design-wise. A brilliant hat for our brilliant (and only real) engineer! RESULT: Exquisite Engineer's Hardhat. +1 INT. +5 MP. +2 Building Health. I deliver this hat to Teag, and check my fishing rod, pulling up the line if something's tugging on it. I attach yet another woodworm for the catch, and continue crafting. INPUT: Engineer's Vest (x1), Gold Nuggets (x2000), Cobalt Bars (x3), Mythril Bars (Terraria) (x2), Adamantite Bars (x4), Circuit Board (x1), Flarefin Koi (x2), Obsidifish (x3), Redstone (x10), Wire Bits (x6) Now, the vest. I won't be changing the insides, but I will be updating the tool belt with the latest in tool technology along with the vest itself. I take the metals, and melt them all down in their respective stations. The Obsidifish are crushed up and melted as well. I create the Flarefin Kernel that I use for the fishing rods. Exact same process. I line the vest's base fabric with the melted gold, making sure that it remains relatively flexible and not overly stiff. Still comfortable, but a little different. I then line the bright gray/neon orange strips on the outside with the Obsidian from the obsidifish, for something that will be done later. I then take the melted Mythril, and proceed to create a sort of ring with it, as well as something on the back of the vest that could fit a Circuit Board. Because there was still Mythril left, I decided to line the outsides of the aforementioned strips and obsidian again, giving it a green hue on top of the other bright colors. Needless to say, all I had to do was install the Circuit Board into the mythril device, and the ring flared to life, as if it was wirelessly connecting to the device. Next, I take the Flarefin Kernel, and infuse it with the neon orange strips on the coat. The strips glow with the power of fire, and when combined with the metal created from thin air via Sentry, allows potent control over the metal that was created. Next, I take apart the tools. There was a Pipe Wrench of sorts (in case of losing the other wrench), pliers, a Box Cutter, a Hammer, a Power Drill, a screwdriver... yeah there's a lot of stuff. So, I take the Adamantite and the Wire Bits, and get to work. I'm basically just going to tell you what I did to make these. I make the entire parts that were metal out of Adamantite, feed wires and redstone through the entire tool, and replace the rubber/wood/misc. things onto the tools that were necessary. The Mythril Ring should be able to tell the exact details of the thing you're doing a thing for, straight to your brain. That's what the mechanism should do given the right enchants. I take the Cobalt, and create a moderately thick, bendy rod that goes up from the Mythril mechanism, enough to reach the helmet on your head. I also make various screws, nails, nuts, bolts, the whole works out of the remaining cobalt. Don't ask how they regenerate so easily. And thus, the vest was completed. RESULT: Exquisite Engineer's Vest. +1 INT. +5 MMP. +2 Sentry Damage. I return the vest to Teag, and hook the Cobalt thing to his helmet. As soon as he put the ring on, he sees the intricate details regarding his tools, from what torque he's applying to his tool of choice, to the amount of force he's swinging with, to what needs to be done to get the screws/nails/etc. into the thing. he's attempting to put together. Though that doesn't detract from his personality at all. He's still the lovable(?) Teag we know. Next, the wrench. INPUT: Temtry Wrench (x1), Adamantite Bars (x2), Durasteel Ingot (x1), Wire Bit (x1), Redstone (x5), Hollowed Bark (x1), Runic Alloy (x1), Soul (x2) Much less of a replacement and more of an upgrade, straight up. I melt down the metals, including the Runic Alloy. Again, I'm not that potent with magic, so I use a Soul to melt down the Runic Alloy well enough to use. I proceed to take off any non-metallic bits of the wrench, planning to replace them as soon as it's complete. I wouldn't replace the Tem's crafttemship; that would be rude. Instead, I coat the entire wrench in a thick layer of Adamantite, feed a wire through the wrench, infuse some Redstone into it (making arcing red lightning jump out of it), and make the toothed grip of the wrench's clamping bit out of Durasteel, the teeth being numerous and strong enough to grip the bolt or whatever you're twisting easily. The wire and redstone should react with the Mythril Ring of the E.E.V. just like the other tools he has. I then proceed to coat the bottom, unmoving piece of metal with the Runic Alloy, using a Soul to harden it. I then increase the size of the handle('s grip) to fit the larger form of the new wrench, and then do something interesting. The cold of the Hollowed Bark was useful, and to capitalize on it, I transfer the sheer cold energies from the bark to the Durasteel in order to make the bolts colder to the touch, shrinking them due to chemistry stuff, thus, allowing the Bolts/etc to expand and stay in the construction parts longer. And put on a few enchants, and done! RESULT: Tough Temtry Wrench. (5-7) Ice damage. 1 Range. 1 Retreat. Weapon skill: Upgrade. Adds +5 MHP and +3 DMG to your sentry. Can only be cast once per sentry. Range 1. Free Action. Basic attacks from this weapon heal Buildings for basic attack damage + 2. +1 Skill slot. I hand the new and improved wrench to Teag. He's likely very pleased at what he's getting. One more, now. INPUT: Mana Orb (x1), Runic Alloy (x1), Soul (x2), Gold Nuggets (x1000), Celestial Essence (x10), Phase Matter (x1), Tiny Chunks of Abyssal Ornstein (x34), Window (x1), 5 MP Blah blah blah metal melting and runic alloy melting with soul you get the idea already. Seriously, it's been done 3 times in this post now, look up to find out how I do it. I take the Mana Orb, and dip it on the liquid Runic Alloy (blah blah soul hardening blah blah). I mix together the Celestial Essence and the Gold while the Alloy was hardening. After the Runic Alloy was hardened, I dip it in the Gold multiple times, hardening them with my Ice magics (which weren't nearly potent enough to freeze the Runic Alloy, mind). I do this multiple times until the entire thing is used up and hardened enough to move on. I take out the Meaty Chunks of Abyssal Ornstein, and forcibly rip out the Abyss that was festering in them. It was stagnant, thankfully, allowing for the power to be extracted from it without harm. The dark power is thus extracted in a big ball of shadow, the orb was it's new vessel. I toss the Shadow Ball into the Mana Orb, turning the orb a deep black. I then infuse the resulting orb with the Phase Matter. One was enough to suit the needs. Because I'm about to merge the orb with the window. As I infuse the Orb with the window, it is noted that the window begins to warp into a spherical shape. The window frame begins transforming into a more blackish color reminiscent to the Mana Orb that had all these things happen to it. One flash of darkness later, and the Orb became glass, the frame being of the material the Mana Orb was, and the actual glass tinted. The frame surrounds the glass, keeping it together at all angles. The vision of stars in the night sky was present within the glass, giving it an otherworldly glow. Needless to say, it's done. RESULT: Celestial Sphere. +10 MMP. I give this to Teag. He's more than likely the happiest camper right now. Pun totally intended. ![]() And thus, Dark checks his line again. Seeing as he hasn't caught anything yet, he sits back down. Enjoy your incredible boost in potential, Teag! Originally posted on 2017-02-12 05:00:00 -------------------- "...I will aid them. No matter the cost to myself."

Operative smiles faintly.
"Heh. Recollection woods? I don't... recall. Heheheheh. Yeah... Not sure if I personally have been there yet. Is it nice there?" He rejected the coffee offer, it seems. Doesn't need it, since the paradox correction was not actual health damage... Then, Marron does one of the stupidest things possible in front of him. A moment passes. Marron would end up finding herself on the end of one particularly nasty yellow-eyes death glare from our dear mysterious-agent-like friend Operative. "Kindly refrain from tormenting Chloe unless you happen to like the feeling of katanas going through your body." There's a pause. Operative's eyes flick back to green, then he turns away from Marron and sighs quietly. While he's at it, he also adds +1 to INT. <TURN TWO-HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN>
HealerX opts to select the +1 Base DMG upgrade for his weapon. It doesn't look any different... but it's somehow better. He then swipes the Wand of the Sky from JOE, and fuses an Open Bag of Topkek, 10 Celestial Essence, 1 Blue Crystal, 10 Hollowed Logs, 10 Cinder Logs, 2 Silkweed, 2 Runic Alloy and 1 bit of Phase Matter to upgrade the Wand of the... Keks? Well, that's simply kek, then. He actually didn't have enough Silkweed, but Ette had him covered, harvesting the garden and delivering the goods. HealerX also decides to craft together a lightbulb with 2 Glass Shards, 1 Hardened Glass, 5 Iron Ingots, and 6 Wirebits, creating the world's most bulky lightbulb. He then gives the newly-formed Lightbulb, some Red Solution, and some Wire bits to Mari to ut: You over-engineered the hell out of this lightbulb. ut: ... ut: Or by over-engineered, I mean you used far too many resources in making it. It still should work fine, though. She takes the Grenade Spell out of the inventory (somehow), then plugs her research data into it. Apparently, she's well-versed in the art of self-destructing robots, and is using a bit of that information to make better grenades. Once she's done, the Grenade Spell is upgraded to have a few more variants. Grenade has been given the Flashbang, Incendiary, and Pulse variants, along with the HE-Variant! Toast then asks as to why Marron HIGHLY dislikes Chloe... tc: What? Seriously? tc: Come ooooon. She's a gorilla. Literally the FIRST thing she did was call me crap, then cause me to have an existential crisis, and then... tc: A-And then... the wings, and E-E-Ette... sorta, di-d-die- tc: ... tc: I-I really don't wanna even think about that day. You know, unless you REALLY want to know... tc: Overall... that day just really, REALLY gorillaing sucked. tc: She's a living reminder of that gorillay day, and even hearing her voice makes me furious... [small][small]tc: Also, how the hell did she get a boyfriend?[/small][/small] Meanwhile, JOE +1's his INT, while Emerald takes a nap. You proceed to dream about a polished brass mirror, and... then the dream ends. You do feel somewhat rested however, which is nice. Riko also joins in on this +INT craze before- ...Why would you grab 3 INT? You physically can't spend that much, so the expenditure fails! Anyway... ...My god, that's a lot of crafting. Darkside expends a grand total of 4000 Gold Nuggets, 5 Cobalt Bars, 1 Diamond, 21 Redstone, 9 Wire Bits, 3 Runic Alloy, 3 Souls, 2 Mythril Bars of the Terraria Variety, 6 Adamantite Bars, 1 Circuit Board, 2 Flarefin Koi, 3 Obsidifish, 1 Durasteel Ingot, 1 Hollowed Bark, 1 Mana Orb, 10 Celestial Essence, 1 Phase Matter, 34 chunks of Abyssal Ornstein, and to cap it all off, A WINDOW... to create the Exquisite Engineer's Hardhat, the Exquisite Engineer's Vest, the Tough Temtry Wrench, AND the Celestial Sphere. Wow. While not every upgrade goes EXACTLY as planned, with some pieces getting slight nerfs, that's still a whole load of stuff. Upgrade on the Wrench fails to be a free action, but it gets a nice buff as compensation. The Operative then asks Chloe about the Recollection Woods. ga: Hm? You haven't been there? ga: Huh. Well, it's this absolutely beautiful forest with pink-leaved trees that blot out the skies, a fragrant, soothing aroma of fresh flowers... and a scary-high amount of spiders. Thankfully, the spiders are nice enough. ga: It's a wonderful place to be! I'd love to have a house there. She then realizes that it's kinda valentines day even though it really isn't? Mindscape time is a mystery to all. ga: Oh dear, I-I totally forgot about Valentines! Eheheheheheheh... ga: I could probably just spend time with you once we begin that "rush" thing. I'd love to fight alongside you again~ ga: Would that be fine with you? If it's not, I'll try and make it up to you... The Operative then also gives this glorious death glare to Marron. She seems to be somewhat fazed by it, but not absolutely horrified. Ette however, instinctively flings herself in front of Marron... before realizing that the Operative actually isn't going to do anything to her. Not yet, anyway. Meanwhile, Marron dismisses his threat... tc: Like you'd do anything to me. tc: I'd bet you wouldn't even hit a cute girl such as myself. Besides, I'm certain that you're smart enough to not stab me in a place such as this, with Toast around... [small][small]tc: Toast, you'll protect me from this ruffian, right? He's actually kinda scaring me, and I don't actually think I could take him without Ette's help...[/small][/small] She completely ignores the possible innuendo, to the GM's relief. The Operative then +1's his INT, before turning and sighing. Roxxanne then congratulates herself on a thing well done, and +1's her SPC. Well done, indeed! Then, somebody decides it'd be a smart idea to stick the Naughty Present to the Final Rush Orb, and cause a rather gigantic brawl. One final portal rips open as the two items amalgam together. Inside is... a christmas party? It's not entirely unlike the one that happened several turns ago. It's just that this particular party room is circular, filled with hordes of zombies, gingerbread men, and... gigantic sentient christmas trees? There also appears to be a few more "exotic" partygoers, all who have taken notice of your presence. A zombie lets out an incredibly girlish scream, and flees the room. This prompts one of them- a green-haired girl, to call for help. Suddenly, five heroes, a being made of stone, and what appears to be a shoddy Richard clone run into the room. This'll be fun. <BATTLE: FINAL RUSH, TURN ZERO> Those delightful bosses that several other players designed are now trying to kill you. Amazing. Whenever a boss is killed, a new boss will spawn from one of the eight spawn points within the room. Every two turns as well, more "Frost Moon" themed reinforcements will pour into the room, getting slowly stronger as the fight progresses! There are a total of 10 bosses, as well as the leader of them all, who will spawn once all the other bosses are dead! Good luck! Originally posted on 2017-02-15 01:00:00 -------------------- |

Random Toast Thoughts: Maybe chaos just thinks really slowly, at a rate of one week worth of thoughts per year.
It's okay. We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. Toast sits down, and gets distracted by her feather-scales while other people do stuff. Later, she suddenly jumps upon hearing her name. Er... hi! I exist. She glances at Marron, then to Operative, and back to Marron. She moves to step in, but it seems that the situation has defused itself. Her expression could roughly be described as a 'confused/concerned frown'. I guess now that I'm up I should head over to the Final Rush. You can come if you'd like, but from what I can tell, it's gonna be pretty tough. ...I should probably also warn you that Chloe will probably be there, so I'll understand if you want to chill with Alt or join later or something. Toast points at Alt in the tree, who wordlessly waves back. Afterwards, she flies off to the rush, potentially with Marron and/or Ette. ~~ If Chloe is joining the fight, she'll use Pyrokinesis to shift the Trickster to H3. Toast switches to the Jadesaw, spawns at I7 moves to J5, then waits for Insert to push the Warrior. Once it's been done, she uses Massacre! Finally, she tops it all off by drinking the Recall Potion, then reentering the battle at H9. Originally posted on 2017-02-15 02:54:00 |
