STATS

Star +8s their DEF.
CRAFTING

Ire has decided to make craftposts unnecessary this update. However, I have already written one, so that one's staying in.

1. Wayfinder's Lens (Harlequin's Cap upgrade): 1x Abyssal Essence, 3x Creation Meteorite, 20x Dream of Unity Fragment.

Wayfinder's Lens Craftpost
Star decides that the Harlequin's Cap is no longer fitting headgear. They take the entire thing and just rip it up entirely.

Anyway. Using the Dream of Unity Fragments, Star hammers together a metal mask with Sol Aeterna's hammer form. Because it is built of airship, it is travel-themed. This is how it works. They knit together the fabric of the now deceased Harlequin's Cap to form a more comfortable inner layer.

Star then melts down the Creation Meteorite into a viscous liquid and pours it into the eye sockets of the mask before allowing it to cool. It forms glassy, star-dusted apertures.

Finally, Star pours a drop of Abyssal Essence into each eyepiece. They shudder with the energy of the Everground mixed with that of the stars, transforming into dark windows spanning the distance between sky and depths. The Wayfinder's Lens is born, with the power to open leylines and chart courses across any distance.

(T7 Hat) Wayfinder's Lens
Where are we, again?
Stats: +6 AGI, +4 SKI, +2 SPC
Leyline Stride: Twice per battle, as part of movement, you may teleport to Range 1 of an impathable tile anywhere on the map if you're also in Range 1 of an impathable tile.
Resists: Fire 20%, Earth 20%, Air 20%, Water 20%, Psychic -20%

2. Cosmological Constant (Wings of Bifrost upgrade): 20x Darkmatter Clusters, 25x Dream of Unity Fragment, 10x Darkweave, 1x Void Liquid

Cosmological Constant Craftresult
(T7 Armor) Cosmological Constant
Wings stitched from the fabric of an expanding universe.
Stats: +5 AGI, +2 SKI, +3 SPC, +1 MOV (if the MOV is too much, swap this with some amount of +STR instead)
Vacuum Energy: Twice per battle, as a Bonus Action, you may give yourself Swift1 for the round, and your movement will obtain Teleport.
Spatial Bubble: Passively, you have Flight. As a Bonus Action, you may Grasp a corpse or an ally in Range 1 of you. While they are Grasped, the target has all special movement types you have for an indefinite duration, but is bound to being in Range 1 of you at all times. They will move with you.
You may cancel Grasp at any time as a Bonus Action. The target may cancel Grasp at any time by moving out of Range 1 of you.

3. Starfeather (Shadow Plume upgrade): x5 Shimmering Clusters, x4 Starite, x1 Creation Meteorite, x1 Order Singularity

Starfeather Craftresult
(T7 Trinket) Starfeather
A crystalline feather made of dark crystal that reflects the light of the heavens.
Stats: +3 AGI
Starry Blend: Twice per battle, you may obtain Swift1 and Evasive2 for a round. This increases to Swift2 and Evasive3 if you have at least 70% Dark Resistance.
Resists: Dark (30%), Light (10%)

PROTOFORGE

A Prototype: Azure Bomber is put into the Protoforge so that we can finish Cypress's achievements soon. It will have upgrades A/A, since I don't think anyone's actually going to use it.
ZONE 5.5

The Reflector loots the remaining Arkalloy in the cart on the third floor, then heads down to the ground floor of the Central Sky Labs and loots the cart full of electronic parts there.
END OF UNITY - AFTER THE BATTLE

An explosion.

And then, nothing.

Star limps away from the battle with the rest of the Spherebreakers, still shaky from getting stunned and badly beaten. They have been silent for some minutes now.

Star turns, gazing back through the partially leveled forest. They speak to no one in particular, but to anyone who will listen.

STAR: The chairian king
STAR: ...
STAR: He was overtaken by his mad-cravings;
STAR: overtaken by purple
STAR: I have visioned my kin-creatures eating or body-using chair-vessels but not this
STAR: he had joined with the purple kin by himself.
STAR: ...
STAR: You Spherebreakers knew Reisz from another world
STAR: Are we nothing but stolen creatures, redrawn by the Purple One?

PATHFINDER

After a while, "the Scion" finishes her character sheet.

"THE SCION": Umm... here's my character...
"THE SCION": She's, um, an elven fighter!
"THE SCION": And she uses a whip to disarm people and steal their weapons...
"THE SCION": I think she might have a weapon collecting addiction...?

There's a lot that's been going on

It’s as quickly as they came. Adria finally completes the Fusion’s design with a flourish. As she waits for the files to compile and write to the disc, she can’t help but notice that something… different is currently in Calibri’s former position. Her expression visibly droops.

Sensing that something is wrong, Adria procures a few USB sticks, plugging them into the computer and uploading the files to those as well.

Everything’s uploaded in good time. Just before her temporal bubble cuts out, Adria stuffs the disc and all USB backups in the inventory.

The temporal bubble she created for herself dissipates... and Adria comes face-to-face with Hangman. Her heart skips a beat, and she starts sweating quite profusely.

Hangman himself, who has only recently come into being, observes Adria quite closely. He can’t help but notice some resemblance in her to someone else he’s seen before. Evidently they’re not the same person, though, otherwise he suspects she’d be exhibiting far less fear. Perhaps they’re related to one another…

Either way, that’s not important. He needs to make a strong impression. And maybe hide the fact that he’s already been outplayed this early… So he just grins at Adria, sparks of black lightning dancing up and down his form.

HANGMAN: This is gonna be fun… Hello there.
ADRIA: U-um… h-hello?

Adria stands up and pushes her chair back, now that she’s done with all the coding. She’s still clearly anxious as she rises to Hangman’s eye level. She’s trying to keep a level head, and whatever she’s trying is only barely working.

ADRIA: What… e-exactly, is going on here?

Hangman shrugs. Idly, in one hand, a noose appears for a split-second before vanishing again. He’s not sure whether he wants to have that on hand yet.

HANGMAN: Well… I suppose you haven’t met me yet.
HANGMAN: Which is funny, considering you were just talking about getting rid of me.
HANGMAN: Right?

After saying that, he fixes Adria with quite the disapproving look, the middle of his eyes sparking into life. Adria takes a step back, trying to maintain her distance.

ADRIA: W-well, I uh… didn’t think you’d be so…
ADRIA: ...uh… i-intimidating.

Adria glances down the hallway, hoping to see someone who could help get her out of this jam. Sadly, there’s nobody there, and she returns her gaze to Hangman.

ADRIA: Y-you, uh… do know that t-the first thing I suggested was… y-y’know.
ADRIA: N-not getting rid of you?

HANGMAN: I am aware.

A pause. Then, Hangman’s expression changes to one of mirth. It’s still not an expression one would want to see, all things considered. In fact, Hangman in general is just bad vibes all around.

HANGMAN: Which is why I’m not quite as mad as I could be. Hah.
HANGMAN: Anyway, hmm… Calibri is a bit out of commission at the moment, you might’ve noticed.
HANGMAN: Which is why I’m here now…

Adria stands there a moment, still as stone, as if expecting some sort of punchline.

ADRIA: S-so… things really are... going poorly…
ADRIA: …
ADRIA: I-I think I already know where… where this is going.

At this, Hangman shrugs.

HANGMAN: Mmh… About that.
HANGMAN: If your guess was that this is going to turn into a fight, I haven’t actually, how should I put it…
HANGMAN: Prepared for that. At all.
HANGMAN: Besides, most of the Spherebreakers are already busy. And they’d need recovery time after that little endurance match.
ADRIA: B-but you were definitely thinking about it.
HANGMAN: ...Yeah, I was.
HANGMAN: I’ll explain why beyond the obvious I don’t want to be merged/deleted thing if you’re curious.

Adria doesn’t really know what to say in this situation… but she was morbidly curious.

ADRIA: ...G-Go on.
HANGMAN: Alright. Quick rundown, things you might already know, then the deeper details.

While the receptionist’s hall is not in any way the same as a lecture hall, Hangman does spare a glance around the area just in case. Seeing nothing particularly of note, he shrugs and moves to the clearest area, then paces back and forth, albeit keeping his eyeless gaze on Adria.

HANGMAN: You’ve probably already noticed, but Calibri is in some part an aspect of justice. Or vengeance. It varies a bit depending on who you ask.
HANGMAN: Also, less noticeable but you could still have picked up on it already, I’m comparable to a… hmm…
HANGMAN: Not exactly corrupted, but let’s say shadow counterpart of him. Still with me so far?

Adria does indeed look attentive. She nods.

HANGMAN: Okay, good. Now then, the fun part…
HANGMAN: Well, fun for me, at least.
HANGMAN: The thing about justice and vengeance is that both of them, at some point, have to tackle the matter of killing people.
HANGMAN: For justice, there are certain people who are so far past redemption that the only safe thing to do with them is to eliminate them.
HANGMAN: For vengeance… Well, that should be obvious enough.
HANGMAN: As the shadow counterpart, that’s where I come in.

Hangman snaps his fingers, several large nooses dropping from the ceiling. The hollow spaces appear to be displaying images… Various scenes, depicting Calibri ending the lives of various entities through the usual means. A gunshot there, an eye blaster there, a “disable their respawn machine connection and get them to have an industrial accident” in one case. Adria can’t help but wince.

HANGMAN: Ironically, he doesn’t have the best judgement, despite his position and belief...
HANGMAN: But that doesn’t matter too much to me.
HANGMAN: Whether a person deserved to die or not, I benefit either way.
HANGMAN: It’s a bit more stringent than what all of you get under the Thymefield, but similar in base nature.
HANGMAN: A life taken means a power boost for me. And at some point, if Calibri kills too fast, is too reckless or lenient with the ideal he’s meant to represent…
HANGMAN: I’ll outpace his natural rate of power growth. Then I’ll finally have the means to separate fully from him.
HANGMAN: I haven’t exactly tested on if it works for people who just come back when killed, but it sure would be nice, wouldn’t it?

While Hangman also mutters something else after that, he’s clearly intent on keeping the remark to himself. Adria, perhaps wisely, decides not to press on that.

ADRIA: So I’m, I’m interfering with t-that, basically.
ADRIA: ...Reminds me a lot of Hannah.
ADRIA: Except a lot less… reckless. M-more restrained.
ADRIA: A-and she’s also getting to know her own “shadow”.
ADRIA: My… h-her mother knows what happened w-when her h-horribly misguided crusade got out of hand…
ADRIA: It was… ugly, to say the least.

ADRIA: ...W-wait, what was I talking about?
ADRIA: ...I forget.

HANGMAN: Something about someone’s horribly misguided crusade?
ADRIA: W-well, I think the chances of that happening here are… s-slim to none.
ADRIA: L-like I said, he’s much, much m-more restrained than literally a-abusing time to turn a planet into a m-molten hellscape.
ADRIA: B-but I digress. It’s… not like any of this matters a-anyway.
ADRIA: T-the past is the past, and... n-nobody can change that. (at least without getting into trouble)

HANGMAN: Hm… That’s fair enough.
HANGMAN: Anyway.

Beat.

HANGMAN: ...I haven’t got much of an idea where to go from here.
HANGMAN: What is it that you people do out here, anyway?
HANGMAN: Besides get into fights with probably-fascist dictators and literal murderbots.

Adria tilts her head. For whatever reason, she doesn’t seem all that intimidated anymore.

ADRIA: D-depends on who you ask.
ADRIA: Could hang out with someone, could exist thrice at a single point in time, could make stuff for one reason or another, gather resources, go on rescue missions, cause an uprising, and I think I heard that a rogue explosive game of chess occurred while I wasn’t around...

That paints a clear picture. Yep. Totally. Hangman stares, at least as much as someone who has eye sockets can stare, at Adria when she mentions the chess game.

HANGMAN: A… rogue explosive game of-
HANGMAN: How does a chess game go rogue or explosive!?
HANGMAN: Is someone among you a really sore loser, or…
HANGMAN: How?
ADRIA: I think both players were first-time players, one of them only had experience from our wacky shopkeep, and after properly learning the ropes, they got bored and started doing the most bizarre moves.
ADRIA: Also, Omega Chesstron was a thing.
ADRIA: And it escalated to a point where a multicolored explosion rocked the kitchen, broke the table, and generally just made a mess.

ADRIA: Y-Yeah.
ADRIA: I think they’d look back on the moment rather fondly though.

HANGMAN: ...You people are unbelievable.
ADRIA: Perhaps some of us are.
ADRIA: Being a ragtag band of multiversal misfits tends to do that.

Adria abruptly chuckles.

ADRIA: Now, let’s talk parallel timelines.
ADRIA: I already know you’ve taken over the Fusion while we were babbling on.
ADRIA: But, let’s say…
ADRIA: I’m three parallel timelines ahead of all of you.

It’s then that Adria looks at… nothing. The Creation PC is gone. And yet, she doesn’t even flinch at this. Internally, Hangman realizes he’s potentially been outplayed twice in a row. He shifts his focus elsewhere for a moment, frowning as he struggles to figure out what’s happened, if anything…

HANGMAN: ....What did you do...?
HANGMAN: What did you do!?

The faint, smug giggling of a little girl could be heard some ways down the northern hallway, quickly getting duller as it got further away, eventually shrinking into silence.

ADRIA: Oh, don’t look so dour.
ADRIA: Like I said, the first thing I attempted was to keep everyone functioning.
ADRIA: I also really, r-really hate this little possession trope that Just. Keeps. Happening. My god. It’s like this planet is trying to make me sick...
ADRIA: And, now that I know for a fact that you’re both separate entities, despite being tied to the same body…
ADRIA: A… little idea struck.
ADRIA: I’ve decided to alter the plan juuuust a bit behind everyone’s backs to get everyone a body.

ADRIA: After all, to make the new fusion work, I had to make a body for the sister.
ADRIA: Making bodies for yourself and Blacklight would be a piece of cake, comparatively speaking.
ADRIA: So I thought… why not.

Adria glares at Hangman. After all, he knows the alternative wouldn’t be pretty for him. As for Hangman himself, he pauses upon hearing that, then makes several interesting expressions while counting things off on his hands for some reason… Then abruptly facepalms.

HANGMAN: That’s way simpler than any of the things I thought to try.

After another long pause, he takes his hand away again, sighing as he returns focus to Adria. He’s a little bit wary, but given that he’s figured out this is probably the best opportunity he’ll get, he should probably at least hear this out.

HANGMAN: How does that work, then?

Adria closes her eyes and lifts her hand to her chin, piecing together what she devised.

ADRIA: Mm, how to explain it…
ADRIA: Think of it as…
ADRIA: As the Fusion has gone on for so long, I designed a failsafe.
ADRIA: On initial insertion, the Fusion as it stands right now will force all occupants to… eject themselves from it.
ADRIA: Splitting the Fusion into its basic components, as it were.
ADRIA: There’s also a function within that will give first-time persons formerly without a manlike form a body to call their own.

ADRIA: With a minor tweak, it can affect the both of you as well.

ADRIA: After that, the Fusion becomes stable, but I would leave the failsafe in there in case things destabilize, triggering should it continue for too long.
ADRIA: But… that’s hardly relevant.

HANGMAN: ...I see.
HANGMAN: Maybe wait a bit on enacting that. I don’t think anything in that battle will survive, but…
HANGMAN: Well, nothing is guaranteed. Once it’s all sorted out, then I’m fine with going ahead with… uh...
HANGMAN: ...Whatever it is you’ll be inserting.
ADRIA: Mhm. Need to wait for the... proper moment.
ADRIA: It’s just a software package of sorts, nothing crazy.
ADRIA: Actually getting it into the Fusion is even easier.
ADRIA: Just gotta slap the cables from the disc drive onto it and we’re golden!

HANGMAN: Very well then. Sounds convenient enough.

Hangman nods. For a moment, his empty eye sockets flicker. It almost seems like proper eyes manifested in there, ones that overall match his washed-out dark colour scheme, but eyes nonetheless. They have in them a twinkle of equal parts anticipation and hope…

Then the moment is past, and it’s back to how it was before.

Adria glances in the general direction of the concluding battle.

ADRIA: Ah, it’s concluding.
ADRIA: It’ll only be a moment, now. Please be patient.

-------

As the entire cast of Spherebreakers flee from the core that is Spark and the Sphere’s laser that follows, Adria matches her pace with the Fusion, now controlled by Hangman. It’s not exactly hard to keep up - given who’s controlling it, he’s not in any particular hurry to leave compared to anyone else. Sensing Adria’s presence near the fusion body, Hangman turns it towards her, still moving away from the core and laser at roughly the same pace.

HANGMAN: I suppose we’re doing this either now, or once we’ve stopped moving?

Adria looks ahead at the rest of the gang. Given she’s already got a drone handling the task of bringing Mari’s body to safety, she’s not in any real rush either.

ADRIA: ...Hmmm…
ADRIA: I wouldn’t want the others to get the wrong idea.
ADRIA: We should do it while the rest are panicking.

Adria plucks both the disc and the Creation PC from the inventory as they slow to a halt. Adria gets to setting up immediately, fashioning a sort of plug directly from the ports in the computer.

ADRIA: Nervous?
HANGMAN: I’m not the one with the most to lose if this doesn’t work out.
HANGMAN: …
HANGMAN: Okay, maybe a little.
ADRIA: Yeah, that’s to be expected…
ADRIA: Admittedly, so am I. I’m just over the whole panic thing.
ADRIA: This… i-isn’t really a thing I’ve had to do before.

Adria silently works on getting all the components set up. Tuning the computer on, leaving aside some wires in case she needs the Mysterious Processor to do some work, inserting the disc into the drive, hovering over the command to boot the program.

All that’s left to do is hook it up to the Fusion. She gets up, form-fluid “plug” at the ready.

ADRIA: Now, I’ll need you to hold still...

Hangman spares a look over at the situation with Spark and the giant laser. Chances are, there’s still a lot going on. He shrugs, turning back to Adria and crouching down a bit, given that the fusion is still significantly oversized.

HANGMAN: Well… I’m not going anywhere.
HANGMAN: Better hope there isn’t too much splash damage from that beam.
ADRIA: Eh, we should be okay.
ADRIA: Anyway. Here we go.
ADRIA: Fair warning, this... might sting.

Adria pulls the plug closer to the Fusion, a cable of some almost otherworldly construction forming as it extends. She pokes the Fusion’s head with it, and… it sorta just stays there, even as Adria lets go. It kinda tickles.

But Adria acknowledges it as “in”, despite the plug looking like it’s anything but. She returns to the PC proper.

ADRIA: Alright, n-now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for…
ADRIA: Booting FusionRepair.exe...

And with a swift clack of the Enter key, the program begins its run… and a dark blue jolt, akin to the color of the night sky, arcs up the wire and into the Fusion.

HANGMAN: ...Huh...

Hangman glances downwards, the expression on the Fusion’s hijacked face shifting to one of neutrality… Then, the form flickers and disintegrates, dust blowing away in the wind, leaving behind the exposed Core.

To be honest, that thing is a total mess. Fracture lines marr the surface from all the violently oscillating conditions in the earlier battle, and perhaps some of those were also caused by just how long the Fusion had to keep itself in one piece. Not to mention the blurry marbling of all three primary colours, intermixed with orange and green and purple and some unsightly brown, then some extra pitch-black sections. The way the colours are shifting, if it had been left unchecked, that entire Core would’ve been overwhelmed by the problems befalling it...

As the upload progresses, the cracks fade away and the colours recede, coalescing onto specific sections of the Core and aligning themselves so that the black sections are trapped between three primary-colour bands. A bright light begins to glow as flames engulf the red section, winds pick up and breeze violently around the blue section, and chains of bright lightning arc erratically over the yellow section.

The blackness peels away from the colourful sections of the Core, though the resulting substance remains in the air, quickly embraced by the swirling elemental energies. Meanwhile on the surface of the Core itself, the brightness glows brighter and brighter, the colours turning lighter until they bleach into an eye-searing whiteness. The way those winds and flames and lightning are behaving, it’s almost like being in the middle of an active reactor. Adria attempts to shield her eyes with her arm, the intense brightness a little too much for the engineer to handle.

Then, suddenly…

???: <It was nice to witness some of the world while I lasted.>
???: <But they will be better off without the risk of becoming me and only me.>
???: <I shall keep this short. Hello. Thank you. And goodbye.>

Adria was taken aback, clearly not expecting the Fusion itself to speak to her. She lowers her head and frowns. She can’t help but feel somewhat guilty about this now.

But what’s done is done. She can’t stop the repair process now that it’s running. She sighs, glancing back at the core..

ADRIA: ...Goodbye.

And with that, the elemental energies proceed to blast outwards in a radius, though dissipate before they can damage anything important. The light fades away again, and this time there’s quite the number of shapes left lying around, no two of them being the same. There’s like… five different weapons, which quickly assemble themselves back into one form, and about four different people (not counting what the weapons turned into).

Once things can be properly witnessed again, it turns out the “five weapons turning into one entity” was Lato reassembling herself. The remaining people are, perhaps expectedly, Calibri, Verdana, Hangman, and Blacklight. Adria breathes a sigh of relief.

Blacklight appears to be the only one currently conscious, simply observing Adria with an expression of neutrality.

BLACKLIGHT: Interesting. Whatever it was you and him agreed upon…
BLACKLIGHT: It seems to have worked.
ADRIA: I’m glad it did.
ADRIA: I… don’t think I’d be able to face Sophie again if it didn’t.

Adria begins packing her gear up, taking the Creation PC and placing it into the inventory. She stands up from her spot on the ground afterwards, scanning the horizon, and then Blacklight and the quartet unconscious in front of her.

ADRIA: Let’s wait a bit for them to wake up.
ADRIA: If they don’t, well… I suppose we’ll have to carry them back home.

BLACKLIGHT: There should be no need to wait if you don’t want to.
BLACKLIGHT: Either they get up and head back on their own, or they do not.
BLACKLIGHT: In the case of the latter, I will be here.

Adria shrugs and shakes her head.

ADRIA: I’m not in any rush, mind. I have all the time in the world.
ADRIA: Besides… I should stick around in case there’s any questions from the others.
ADRIA: ...And to watch for Iti and other such parties.

BLACKLIGHT: ...Understandable.
BLACKLIGHT: In that case, let me hasten the process a little.

Blacklight turns to the unconscious quartet, staring down at them for a few seconds, then casts… something. It seems to be a derivative of Last Dream, though further investigation would be needed to confirm the actual nature of that spell. Either way, that quickly jolts the quartet into action.

ADRIA: That works. Good evening!
ADRIA: Everyone holding up okay?

LATO: All systems operating at nominal capacity regardless of external interference.
VERDANA: Roughly translated, that means yes!
VERDANA: I’m also fine. Surprisingly.
VERDANA: ...A bit angry at someone for reasons, but fine.

CALIBRI: *There isn’t even dialogue, just Doom Eternal style music playing ominously in the background*

Of the trio who just spoke, Lato is currently examining her own body, Verdana is actually facing Adria, and Calibri…

HANGMAN: ow
HANGMAN: ow
HANGMAN: ow
HANGMAN: We don’t even have lungs you idiot
HANGMAN: ow

...Appears to be trying to throttle Hangman to death. Well, that might be a problem. Especially since the other two siblings are pointedly ignoring what’s happening, and Blacklight has yet to intervene. Adria nods at the two who just spoke.

ADRIA: Good to hear.
ADRIA: Though… I suppose if you have any questions, you’ll need to wait.

She sighs and groans as she looks at Calibri trying to kill Hangman. Of course there’s always something.

She slowly steps towards the two, looking down at them with the face of pure disappointment. She loudly clears her throat.

ADRIA: You can’t be serious, Calibri...
CALIBRI: My life has been a few weeks long at most.
CALIBRI: For every day of those weeks. Every hour of those days.
CALIBRI: This MOTHER
GORILLA has been there.
CALIBRI: Taunting me. Playing mindgames. Advocating things I don’t want to do.
CALIBRI: And then he pulls this trick and lets probability play the kingmaker.
CALIBRI: I am so sick of having to put up with him.
CALIBRI: You spent time with something outright hijacking you.
CALIBRI: Tell me, if you had the chance…
CALIBRI: Would you ever not do the same thing to that entity that I’m doing right now?

Calibri does relax his grip a little, though it’s not entirely clear if it’s him relenting, or just catching on that there’s really no point in strangling something that doesn’t breathe. Adria remains silent for a moment.

ADRIA: T-that’s… a loaded question.

A single, weary sigh.

ADRIA: F-for that… thing piloting my body…
ADRIA: I feel like that’s… a different case entirely.
ADRIA: Its entire purpose… i-its entire purpose was to make people suffer.
ADRIA: Just… j-just to feed on it. For power. So it could make more people suffer, i-in this… never-ending loop.
ADRIA: No other reason.
ADRIA: I would gladly take it and vaporize it, if given the opportunity.
ADRIA: Especially for
daring to make me go after Sophie.

Adria then looks down at Hangman.

ADRIA: And yet, Hangman here…
ADRIA: While what I’m about to say doesn’t absolve his actions in the least…
ADRIA: There’s tangible reasoning behind it.
ADRIA: He wanted freedom from you just as much as you wanted freedom from him.
ADRIA: Yes, his methods prior were harmful. Crude, even. Including the hijacking of the Fusion.
ADRIA: It was all a means to an end.
ADRIA: I could immediately tell the moment I mentioned an alternate, faster, less destructive way out.
ADRIA: And before we were even discussing that, he didn’t even know what to do with his new, if only temporary, “freedom”.

While Calibri does falter again at hearing that, it still doesn’t seem to have been enough to convince him… Thankfully, the others intervene. It’s Blacklight that steps forth first, summoning a staff into his hands and aiming it at Calibri.

BLACKLIGHT: I’d rather not have you kill Hangman just yet.
BLACKLIGHT: I might not think highly of him, even as a fellow… what are we, anyway?
BLACKLIGHT: That’s beside the point. Since I still need him, there are only two outcomes.
BLACKLIGHT: You leave him alone by choice, or by force.
CALIBRI: Or I can just deal with both of you now.
CALIBRI: He’s still a threat. And if you’re going to side with him...

Several red crystalline barriers appear in orbit around Blacklight. Verdana stands slightly to one side of him, holding a familiar helmet in both hands and staring directly at Calibri.

VERDANA: Blacklight is innocent in this. Don’t go after him.
CALIBRI: I don’t believe you.
VERDANA: Well believe me anyway. I know him better than you.
VERDANA: What Hangman did, he did by himself.
VERDANA: And if you’re going after someone who had no part in it all because he’d be in your way-

LATO: This is stupid.

Lato steps forth, facepalming to indicate her level of “done with this GORILLA”, gesturing to Verdana and Blacklight to back off, then turning her attention fully on Calibri.

LATO: We already know that Hangman is an issue, yes.
LATO: But we have bigger issues to contend with in the present moment.
LATO: We have yet to deal with Ware, or the Chaos Butterfly, thus should be focusing our attentions on them first.
LATO: Clearly, trying to deal with Hangman first is going to cause issues. So shift priorities.
LATO: You can always track him down and finish your business later.

CALIBRI: …
CALIBRI: Fine.

Calibri finally lets go of Hangman, standing up and turning away from him. After a moment of waiting, perhaps expecting something more, Hangman glances at each person present, then stands up.

HANGMAN: …Well then.
HANGMAN: I should probably just… go now.
HANGMAN: See you later. Maybe.

Hangman absconds. That leaves four of the folk. Calibri, Verdana, Lato, and Blacklight. Silence reigns for a moment in the aftermath of what Lato described as “stupid”... well, until Adria breaks thre silence again.

ADRIA: I… can’t really disagree with Lato. We’ve got other things to attend to.

She gestures to the trio.

ADRIA: As you may have already guessed, I completed what your creator left behind.
ADRIA: You three should still be able to fuse, but now that it’s actually defined as opposed to letting reality take the helm, it should be much, much less risky for you three.
ADRIA: No more worrying about permanently fusing together. Though it may be slightly different than what you’re used to.

Adria then takes a good look at Blacklight.

ADRIA: As for you, Blacklight, uh… hm.
ADRIA: I… don’t really know what you could do next.
ADRIA: But you might already have something lined up, so I suppose you could go at… whatever that thing is.

ADRIA: ...So long as it’s not a rogue explosive game of chess.

BLACKLIGHT: I don’t have many places to be. I’ll probably hang out with anyone that isn’t on the front lines tomorrow.
ADRIA: Fair enough.

Adria takes a step backwards from the crew.

ADRIA: Before we get going back to the main group… anything you guys need cleared up?

The trio glance at one another, silently exchanging looks for a while. Blacklight watches them, then shrugs. After a moment, everyone turns back to Adria again.

BLACKLIGHT: Seems they don’t have anything.
VERDANA: We’re fine, yeah.
CALIBRI: If I think of something later, I’ll ask.
CALIBRI: Kinda thinking more about gearing up right now.

LATO: Concurring.
LATO: While I am curious about the nature of my body, now that it is properly established…
LATO: Anything I shall discover, it shall be through personal experience rather than inquiry.

ADRIA: That’s the best way to learn anyway. I never was a fan of classrooms either.

ADRIA: Alright then. Let’s set out.
ADRIA: The others ran off...

She scans the horizon once again, spotting the hill with everyone on it. She points in its general direction.

ADRIA: They’re on that hill. Let’s move.

Adria starts walking off in that direction, glancing back to check if the rest of the crew are following behind. Thankfully, they are. Of the crew, Calibri is theorizing mid-walk, Lato is gazing at the scenery around her in silent fascination, and Verdana and Blacklight seem to be having a non-verbal conversation if that makes sense. Soon enough they’re back with the rest of the Spherebreakers, safe and sound.

---

Zone 0 - The House

The moment the trio (and Blacklight) get home, Verdana and Blacklight both move to the nearest couch and flop onto it in the peak picture of exhaustion, Lato wanders off to the training room for reasons (which judging by the sound are almost entire centered around "beat the absolute shit out of a training dummy", and Calibri heads down to the Workstation Prime.

"I have work to do... A lot of work."

Oculus Iudicis
INPUT: Wireframe Visor, Ribbon of Malice, Gazyer Maw, Searing Clusters, Red Sap Blobs
OUTPUT: Oculus Iudicis

Calibri stares at the ingredients for a moment.

"Am I really gonna do this..."

There's a pause. The scene cuts away... And is promptly followed by a torrent of agonized screaming, eruptions of random elemental Air and Darkness bursts, and other such sounds of Calibri regretting his "brilliant" idea of just shoving everything into his eyes as if that'd ever work out.

...It still works out due to the magic of "craftposts aren't actually necessary this round", it's just incredibly painful for a minute or two.

(T7) Oculus Iudicis
The name did still sound cool in English, but Latin is an aesthetic.
(+5 STR) (+2 SKI) (+7 CRT) (Judge and Jury) (Executioner)
Piercing (20%), Fire (20%), Magical (20%)
Judge and Jury: Once per battle, grant Focused10 and Lucky20 to you and one ally in Range 1-3 for one round. Bonus action.
Executioner: At the start of battle, mark an ally with Protectorate. If an enemy downs, kills, or procs the autorevive of you or the Protectorate, all attacks you or the Protectorate make on that enemy deal 50% additional damage. Against bosses, this is reduced to 20%.

"...Not done yet."

Fervent Heroine Chloe Plushie
INPUT: True Heroine Chloe Plushie, Heroine's Fervor, probably some stuff that isn't even relevant but is included anyway for reasons
OUTPUT: Fervent Heroine Chloe Plushie

Calibri stares at the True Heroine Chloe Plushie for a while, then at the Heroine's Fervor wooden sword charm. Having considered options, he then quietly pushes the handle of the wooden sword into the hand of the plushie.

...

Yeah, I don't know what more you expected from him.

(T7) Fervent Heroine Chloe Plushie
Now the highly marketable plushie has a highly DLC-able sword to wield.
(+3 SKI) (Elem's Will) (Forever Onward) (-3 MHP)
Slashing (20%) Fire (20%) Glitch (10%) Air (-20%) Electric (-10%)

Elem's Will: If you have 20% HP or greater and take a blow that would Down you, survive it with 1 HP. Triggers up to once per battle.
Forever Onward: Thrice per battle, you may use your action to obtain Ordo for four rounds, then restore (16-18) HP. If Elem's Will has triggered, it is refreshed and the HP restore is doubled. You may also make this a bonus action and negate all healing received.

"...One more."

Auric Caliber
INPUT: Excalibri, the shattered fragments of the Auric Gladius, a Mythril ingot, Electrum ingots, Sanctified alloy
OUTPUT: Auric Caliber... blueprint

Calibri takes a visit to the Dream of Unity, or at least what's left of it, to retrieve a few things of importance. Namely, the shattered fragments of the Auric Gladius, which had been broken when it clashed with Spark's greatsword. Calibri decides he'll make sure Chloe's sword won't fail her like that again. He'll make it better than it ever was.

For that, he'll need to draw up some plans. He knows the design of that sword she currently wields. The one that, by all technically, was part of him. Awkwardness to think about that besides, he should really contemplate her fighting style...

...Counterattacks. A lot of counterattacks. And given the nature of shortswords like the Gladius, perhaps it'd be best to help hasten the quickdraw a little. Hmm...

Reinforce the blade, that's for sure. Maybe reinforce the handle. Imbue it with some sanctified power, cause that's always cool. There's a surpless of Electrum available, might as well sift through for the high quality stuff. Oh, and better get one of those Mythril ingots. Something about those seems to elevate weapons made with them above all others... At least right now. Sure, he'll do that, then.

Soon, he has his schematics. All he has to do is present them to Chloe...

...I'll probably do stats later. This is just getting the equipment ready for Calibri (and also powering up Chloe's weapon). I already have stats in place, sure, but I still need to sort out some details, and also there's like 9 pieces of equipment to fix up all at the same time and I genuinely don't believe I'd get away with doing them all at once.

The Old Pass...?

"...Y'know, ah'm naw one t' jinx it on purpose, but ah'm gettin' real bad vibes now."

EN glances around whatever viewport she can access. If anyone had a Geiger Counter, it'd be starting to make funny noises now. But in this submarine, there probably isn't one. At least, not for measuring on the inside.

"Kinda git th' feelin' we'll be seein' somethin' real weird happen wit' tha' there dead fella. Or somethin' related t' it. 'Specially wit' th' rumblin' jus' as one o' us grabbed a fang."

Tabletopian Border

Engie ponders this for a moment...

"Yeah we're done here."

He proceeds to pick up his truck from way earlier and run off into the distance. The animation for him doing so is beyond terrible for some reason, it's like someone took a gravity gun and sprinted while carrying a ragdoll.

Nidra puts two points into INT, three into Last Dream, and three into HP.

She then grabs a small fortune of miscellaneous high-tier non-unique crafting materials, melts them down in a cauldron, takes off most of her gear, and mixes them in the abstraction-of-power stew until they've been upgraded.

Venia Respec: FINAL

Stats:
-1 INT
+3 AGI
+4 SKI
+2 STR

Items:
Link to templates for all crafts: Here
Coat of the Spherebreaker: Grand Duchess's Coat, Royalmatter(x20), Replicant Matter(x20), Creation Meteorite (x2), King's Armor Fragment (x10)
5D Knight: ASSET_DATA_CORRUPTED(x1), Orchid Jet (x1), Praetorian Dogtag (Plastic's if it matters) (x1), Lily of Infinite Quietus (x2), Eversteel (x1), Soulblessed Alloy (x1), Mythril (x1)
New Rosen Oath: Eversteel (x4), Elemental Prisma (x3), Lily of Infinite Quietus (x3), Soulblessed Alloy (x25).

... In slightly different news, Venia 'officially' (for expidency's sake it already happened) spends 50 Flux to create the Revelation's Ruin. The pinnacle of all her work on Entropy since she got here-combining ancient secrets with the most sophisticated technology she could, to create the ultimate weapon of Pulchritude-of Order.

Spells:
-Switch Vampiric Venom for Pow Hammer

Specials:
Phantasmal Force... Remains mostly the same in terms of function. The biggest change is to the Degrading Reality modifier: it now applies either Blind or Ensnared for two rounds, which is chosen on-cast. Intensity of the status chosen is equal to the number of uses divided by two, plus one. If used at the cap of 20

Hopeful Heart, meanwhile, is replaced entirely by Unexisting Theorem. The circle of Special is complete.

Unexisting Theorem:

When used, Venia immediately gains +10% MHP and MMP, plus one use of a new Free Action ability to move any target in Range 1-5 one tile. Both of these cap at 5 uses (so +50% MHP, MMP and 5 tiles of forced movement), and all boosts last until the end of the battle. After 5 uses, each use will restore 50% of Venia's MHP and MMP per cast. Free Action. 120 SP per use.

Base SP Cap: 360
Modifiers: -1 SP to cast per SPC. (Cap of 100 SP cost.)
+1 Charge Limit per 8 SPC. (Gain enough SP Cap to earn another use of this special.)
Arachne Sense at 15 SPC. (Whenever you use this special, gain +1 to all non-MOV substats for the rest of the battle. On the fifth use only, gain +1 MOV.)

House

At Longavea's plight, Venia hooks her arm around both of his, giving him some support. "You must still be tired, but you do have to acclimate yourself to walking again... Just use me for support. I'll walk you to the couch."

Either way, Venia guides/carries Longavea to the small couch... Not couchtron, where Gum and Aoki are at, and lays him down there. "Get some rest. Tomorrow is going to be a very important day... We did it-we got the final glyph. All four are ours, now. And I've... I found the Old Rosen Oath. I can show it to you-and I have taken what I've learned, and..."

Mariaaaa

The answer came to her immediately. "Magic! Magic! Magic! I want to be the magicest! I want all the magic! ... Oh oh oh, maybe we can like, use Venny's snowball wand thingy, but make it super duper mega hyper ultra awesome?! We could do that couldnt' we?"

With crafting out of the way for now, I'm going to wait for someone else to tell me how to assign my extra skill points.

Auth nods slightly, expecting the question from Taeda.

AUTH: Well, you know I worked with Aoki to make the video we played for the Citadel to work against Spark, right? Initially, the topics we were to discuss were switched. I admit I'm still not clear on why I was supposed to talk about what we did after the destruction of the Sphere, but even so...
AUTH: I suppose having had such questions posed to me, what their prospective answers are still plays on my mind. Is that a sufficient answer?

Auth makes a mental note, although he isn't clear on the exact order of events as it comes to the death of some Highchair members. His knowledge is incomplete and he knows as much. Still.

AUTH: Omorika isn't that much older than you, though, is she? You've got plenty of talent and skill.
AUTH: Everybody is their own worst critic. You never really notice all the awesome stuff you do and focus on all the big moments that everyone else gets. Especially in the role of combat support, like we are.
AUTH: Omorika would definitely be willing to help guide you if you ended up on the Highchair. Last time I checked, Omorika was good at her job. As I said, I don't think it's that much of a pipe dream, you've shown yourself to be reliable in crisis situations and what might normally be considered normal will probably go out the window, at least to some extent, before things settle properly.

Auth feels like he dropped enough heavy-handed hints that Omorika had headhunted her for a Highchair position, whether Omo would like to come and finish the job is up to her.

As someone wicked, fundamentally, I disagree. One may always repent. I may have done terrible things in the past. That's why I help this coward now.

<ROUND 313>

Up in the Dream of Unity, the Operator is only able to utter one word in sight of the atrocities that are about to be committed against his schedule.

Solarhivemind Matrix made with a chunk of Eversteel, 5 Dream of Unity Fragments, a Mythril Ingot, an Electrum Ingot, and 2 Shimmering Clusters.

Okay. Only took a dozen or so days to reach this point! Hex returns to the game! As he's been fishing for the past few hours, he's accumulated quite the haul! 10 Bass Bass, 10 Barkfins, and 5 Skyscales! While maybe he should logically have more, he's pretty sure that the game's AFK detection has been messing with him for the past few hours. As in Chaos. The man has stolen far, far too many fish.

But anyway. Hex asks the Legion exactly what time it is. The Legionary doesn't exactly have a watch. In fact, they're probably on orders to beat up the Spherebreakers, except most of the soldiers know better by this point in the game. They look up at the sky. The moon shines down upon the former battlefield that is Sequoia's lake.

LEGIONARY: uh.
LEGIONARY: definitely too late to be out fishing
LEGIONARY: the iti tend to be more active at this time, y'know?
LEGIONARY: or at least, it definitely feels that way
LEGIONARY: as it turns out, pure-black creatures on a very dark moonlit backdrop are kinda scary
LEGIONARY: even a tiny seeker can be terrifying if it drops on your face from a treetop
LEGIONARY: you should get going.

LEGIONARY: also you're kinda scaring some of the other boys
LEGIONARY: they want to fish too, but you've been fishing there menacingly for the past twenty four hours
LEGIONARY: like, they've checked, and they're unsure if you even blinked during that time
LEGIONARY: creepy stuff

He really should get going. And so he does. As he returns home, he gets the... weirdest of glares from Acacia. The sort of glare that conveys the desire to paint someone across the walls, but also incredible fear? A natural mixture of materials.

Echoss does a variety of things. To begin, Echoss does his best to reassure Aoki. Really, she was doing incredibly well before she was shot by perhaps the most powerful foe the Spherebreakers have faced thus far. Though her head still spins, Aoki can understand the rationale somewhat.

AOKI: T-That is... one way to interpret it, y-yes...
AOKI: Even then, I... s-still feel the sting of f-failure nonetheless.
AOKI: B-But... thank you.

She doesn't appear to be wanting for anything else- perhaps she's content to just rest now? It only it wasn't so noisy up here, with everyone returning to the house and all. Not exactly the ideal environment to rest, unless you happen to be a social butterfly. Which Aoki is decidedly not.

Then, just outside of the house, Echoss equips and slams down the Party Package! It violently explodes, sending a variety of party goods all over the area! A barrage of streamers assail the house, dealing (47) Antistyle damage. Given the nature of Antistyle Damage, this boosts the fabulousness of the house. A large amount of furniture also places itself outside of the house... as well as one entire dance floor. It even appears to have a built-in DJ! Huh. They look rather familiar.

Also, Not!Echoss does a few quick tasks. First, he asks Nia to upgrade some weapons! The Planck Underflow and Andre's Occult Foam Hammer are handed over to her, and promptly upgraded. This results in Andre's Occult Foam Plasma Pistol of Banning, as well as the Max Slash Min. Both are equally horrifying weapons that should not legally exist. But Nia does not care for the rules. Nia simply is™. Also, a Meteos is thrown into Droplet's deposit box. It immediately flies off into the building, probably causing degrees of property damage that'd make Taeda faint.

DROPLET: Uh. Thanks?
DROPLET: I have no idea if that thing's the bottom of the barrel or not.
DROPLET: It didn't even stop to say "hey".
DROPLET: Not that most of these guys can speak.
DROPLET: That's... probably for the best.

Finally, as Xavier decides to leave for the... somewhere, Echoss stops him. Perhaps he should take a few supplies with him. Xavier rather awkwardly halts his dramatic departure of the hillside, back-up lights flaring to life on his damaged God Hands. They really can't move very fast at the moment. He stops an uncomfortably short distance away from Echoss.

XAVIER: ...Sure. Why not.
XAVIER: Pretty sure I can get everything set up on my own, but I guess a few extra items wouldn't hurt.
XAVIER: Let me see what I can find...

20 bars of Arkalloy, 3 Crystalline Conduits, and a Fusion Weapon Prototype are extracted from the inventory. A horde of nanomachines shoot from Xavier's armor, swiftly breaking down the provided materials and applying repairs as needed to the God Hands. They're still... mostly non-functional, but the thrust systems have been completely repaired. Xavier is also gifted a portal rune so he may return to the party. He accepts the gift, though he gives the rune itself the evil eye.

XAVIER: Appreciated.
XAVIER: However, I hope you realize that by this point, I've nearly mastered portal-based technology.
XAVIER: Based solely on observations and data I've collected today, I should be able to utilize some magical components to create portal-based gateways between any two locations I so desire.
XAVIER: You would be surprised how much humanity (or specifically, myself) has progressed in the past three to four business days.
XAVIER: ...None of which was thought up by Nia. Definitely none of it.

NIA: Translation: all of which was thought up by Nia, and definitely not the Butterfly!
XAVIER: Yes. That.
XAVIER: Legally speaking, as the one who was responsible for implementing the Butterfly in such a way to give you those ideas, I should have credit for the-

NIA: No. My credit.
NIA: It's the least you owe me for making me into a robot.

XAVIER: ...Fine.

The two awkwardly stare at one another. They'll probably have some things to talk out later, won't they? Just like how Echoss wishes to talk to Xavier about something once the Sphere falls. He has... a bit of a request.

XAVIER: ...I suppose I could make time for that.
XAVIER: My schedule is rather packed in terms of tasks to perform once the Sphere is destroyed, but maybe I'll find time to slot you in.
XAVIER: ...Most of which involve the police.

CHLOE: Y-You've, um.
CHLOE: M-Made this kinda awkward?

XAVIER: Yep.
XAVIER: The police shouldn't be as hard to avoid as the IRS, though.
XAVIER: Still. It's gonna suck.

He sighs. Chloe blinks. What was that about the IRS? Before she can ask, Xavier's already floating off, this time at a far higher velocity. He looks back at Echoss.

XAVIER: ...But yeah.
XAVIER: Good luck to you as well.

Adria decides to tend to Mari. Though the fighting was intense enough to knock Mari out, she doesn't seem too much worse for wear. Besides all the blood flowing down her face, and into her eye. That's a bit of a problem, but nothing a few nanomachines can't patch up. It doesn't take long for Mari to come to afterwards.

MARI: I'm up, I'm up...
MARI: Don't worry about me too much. Not the first time I've eaten gorilla like this.
MARI: Like, I almost got murdered by a sentient Christmas tree once.
MARI: Not... not my proudest moment.
MARI: You kinda lose your ego after something like that.

Mari shudders. She has never looked at trees the same way since then. Adria helps her wounded comrade onto a sort of recliner. She doesn't complain in the slightest as she's hoisted up, and then down. One of Mari's drones buzzes over to her, and wipes away the blood that's marred her face. As she continues to clean up, Adria suggests a string of upgrades. She can't complain, bobbing her head.

MARI: If you're offering, why not?
MARI: It'll probably stop me from getting bodied in the future too, so... yeah. Go ahead.
MARI: Let me make something for you too though, alright?
MARI: Like, I can't be the only one getting cool science gorilla.

Mari decides to work on Adria's Chrono Blazer, which is honestly looking far worse for wear after the battle. Guess that's what happens when you almost die multiple times. She throws together 5 King's Armor Fragments, 2 units of Gaiadiamond Dust, and a Core Regalia. She formulates this into some sort of device that recycles Chronodust found on Adria's person, while also allowing it to be used in a variety of strategic fashions. Chronodust Continuum created!

MARI: Is this acceptable?
MARI: Not exactly an expert on Chronodust for probably obvious reasons, but I think this'll work out?
MARI: The method of harnessing its power is definitely unoptimized, but from initial experimentation it seems to work well enough.
MARI: I'm sure you're smart enough to tune it to make it actually work.
MARI: Especially since there's probably a better way to use the dust than "spray it on people and see what happens".

It's not exactly sophisticated, but it's a new field of science for Mari. Perhaps Adria can provide a few design tips? Mari's certain there's some way to extract and use the power of Chronodust better, but she's out of ideas on that field. She doesn't exactly have all the time in the world to experiment, after all. The Sphere's looming ominously, and she wants it to loom just a little bit less ominously.

Also, over at the cafe, Mari and Adria continue Tech Talk™. The number one show where two nerds discuss science for entirely too long. Adria mentions that though the force field does capture Chronodust, which does prevent it from interfering with machinery, it makes it hard to use chronodust-based tech outside of the desert.

MARI: I guess that would make it hard to explore outside the city walls, wouldn't it?
MARI: Or at least, it'd be a pain to use the equipment without hauling another shield generator everywhere.
MARI: ...For some reason, I feel like that'd be hard to do.

Mari is then taught about some of the groups that outline the desert of Adria's hometown. There's the pirates who survive in the farthest off, most obscure locations. The Nomads who roam the desert, wheeling and dealing amidst the sands. There's also a kingdom known as the "Peacewalkers", who specialize in magical powers. Mari glares at Adria ever so slightly.

MARI: That sounds... oddly familiar.
MARI: A kingdom that focuses on technology. A kingdom that focuses on magic.
MARI: You sure you're not just Chairians and Tabletopians in disguise?
MARI: Actually, no. That can't be the case. You're not killing each other for basically no reason.

MARI: Must be a nice place though, the Sapphire Skyline.
MARI: To visit, I mean. Don't think I could live in a low-tech area for more than a few hours before going insane.
MARI: Like, thank god Locaa has this goddamn laboratory.
MARI: Do you know how useless I felt in those arid, cultist infested catacombs?
MARI: ...Not that useless, but there was nothing to hack! Unless you have a sword!
MARI: I don't have one of those!
MARI: Weirdly enough though, that place also sold coffee. Wonder if it's good...

As it turns out, Mari is also into the good gorilla. It seems they're both coffee connoisseurs. Add Omorika into the mix, and they could probably form a club. Mari's head bobs, followed by another sip of her joe.

MARI: Aw yeah.
MARI: ...Come to think of it though, it's kinda late for a cup, isn't it?
MARI: I'm defo not getting any sleep tonight, that's for sure.
MARI: Whatever. More excuses to drink coffee.

Slurp. Mari does not give a damn.

MARI: Tomorrow morning, let's both have a nice cup.
MARI: We're gonna be raiding the Sphere, so we're gonna need all the juice we can get!
MARI: I wonder if there's like, any specialty drinks here in Locaa? Maybe Omorika knows some sort of fascinating drink that we mere mortals can't handle.
MARI: I'd love to try it.

Her head's in the clouds a little, it'd seem. Probably dreaming about that one mythical cuppa that'll blow her mind. On another note though, perhaps it's time to bring their little chat to a close, and cut to the present? The timelines are getting a little strained at this point.

Finally, down in the mountains of the Old Pass, Shelly decides to go and begin drilling at the root of the tooth! It's one hell of a resilient tooth! One could probably build an amazing greatsword out of this baby. It'd probably have at least blue sharpness. After about a solid minute of hacking away with the drill, the tooth finally breaks loose. She wraps the chain around the tooth, and signals to pull it back onto the submarine. Tooth of the Godslayer obtained.

Once again, the cavern rumbles. The Migi that had attempted to cling onto Shelly are pulled back into the corpse of the Fell God by a powerful vortex that emanates from the maw of the Fell God. Fortunately, by clinging onto the tooth, Shelly is able to resist the pull. The flesh of the Fell God begins to bubble. Horrid, dark-purple pustules form and burst in seconds, thousands of Migi spewing from each one. These too, are pulled into the body of the Fell God.

And then, it exhales.

CHAOS: nope nope nope nope
CHAOS: abor[t] abor[t] abor[t]

Chaos drifts the submarine through the water, avoiding a breath weapon of sorts. Not a spray of fire, acid, or superheated water, but of pure Migi. They ripple through the water, their bodies tearing into the stone where Chaos's submarine once was. Chunks of rotten flesh emerge with the breath attack, painting the back wall an unsightly hue of purple and red.

The maw of the Fell God clamps shut. An amethyst glare shines forth from its otherwise cloudy, singular remaining eye. Millions of Migi now are clambering across the exposed skeletal structure of the Fell God, forming makeshift muscles and joints. A limb that was practically detached earlier is now reconnected to the writhing mass that is the Fell God. The gaps in the wings are stitched together through an organic infusion of Migi. Silently, the Fell God watches the vessel. Parts of the exposed brain can be seen, Migi pumping through the spaghetti-like latticework of its mind.

Chaos's submarine comes to a standstill in face of the reborn Fell God.

CHAOS: wha[t] a [c]li[c]he [t]wis[t]
CHAOS: i[t]'s no[t] dead
CHAOS: i mean i[t]'s very dead
CHAOS: i[t]'s jus[t] under new managemen[t]
CHAOS: any brigh[t] ideas?

The party gets this feeling that if they retreat, they'll be seeing this thing later. Perhaps they could try to engage it now, though? Through roleplay centric attacks and the like. Or maybe an actual battle could start? Who knows. Take your pick. Start a battle, or fight through roleplay? Point is, God is not dead, and they're pissed.

Staaaaaaar! They do things befitting an Iti that has just witnessed the Chairian king die in a rather over-the-top fashion after becoming an Iti. They question their very own existence. Are they nothing but stolen creatures? And... is there anyone to listen? At the very least, there's a Mari. She tilts her head as she ponders a fallen Star.

MARI: Stolen creatures?
MARI: Some of the Iti are clearly inspired by things from other works of fiction, but... a lot of them are original enough.
MARI: Like, take the Seekers for instance. I've never seen anything like them.
MARI: I'd say they act like Zerglings, but Zerglings aren't weird lil' goblin people.
MARI: Weird goblin people is infinitely more terrifying, I've gotta say. Gonna... steal that idea.
MARI: Far as I can tell, you're pretty unique.

Elsewhere, the Scion finishes up their character sheet! An elven fighter who makes use of a whip to steal people's weapons! Odds are, they have a weapon collecting addiction. Chloe claps her hands and smiles, beaming for miles. Today, she's a proud mother by proxy.

CHLOE: Ooh, that's a good one!
CHLOE: If I lived in a fantasy world, I'd collect weapons too. There's so many pretty, weird heckin' weapons, and I wanna put them all on my wall.

MARRON: Huh. I kinda assumed that you were already the type to do that.
CHLOE: I-I mean... I do. J-Just a few, though!
CHLOE: And I don't mount them on the wall. Yet.
CHLOE: Maybe when I get my own place.

CHLOE: But yeah! Great job!
CHLOE: Does anyone else want to present their character?

Ette meanwhile, is excited to present her own character. She's spent the past few minutes doodling a... beefy man in some decently hefty armor, with a chonker of a mace that appears to be wielded by the character's amazing beard. Of course, this is all in crayon, so it's a... bit hard to tell. There's also a red plus symbol doodled onto the person's armor.

ETTE: My turn, my turn!
ETTE: This is Mr. Limbeard, my dwarven cleric!
ETTE: He's a really nice old guy who casts holy magic so that everyone feels better!
ETTE: He's a super nice grandpa. If I had a grandpa, I would want it to be mister Limbeard.
ETTE: With his beard, he can hit people!

Chloe wonders the logistics of how such a beard could be wielded by a dwarf. Whatever. It'll work.

CHLOE: Oh, cool!
CHLOE: And here I thought we were gonna get an all female party.

MARRON: Well, Ette's too creative to stick to your norms!
MARRON: Great job, sis!

ETTE: Yaaaay!

CHLOE: Anyway, just Marron and Asha left.
CHLOE: Asha, why don't you introduce yourself?

It's time for Asha to unveil her secretly minmaxed character. One that will make GM's tremble in fear. I mean, it might be minmaxed. I don't know. I don't dictate Asha's fate, unless I'm rolling HIT against her. In which case I kinda do, but shush.

EN gets bad vibes. Of course, given that some events™ have happened earlier, Chaos stares at her. Not that she could've reacted to this, given the play-by-post nature of this game.

CHAOS: a[c][t]ually [t]he dead beaver god gives me very, very good vibes
CHAOS: i'm sure [t]hese vibes will be improved on[c]e i[t] ea[t]s [t]he submarine

There's also a VERY large roleplay segment that I'm not entirely sure if I can respond to or not. All I know is that Adria is QPU misaligned, except in the sense of timelines. Though that's probably fine. Also, the fusion may or may not be a five-man band worth of people now. The GM is not mentally prepared to juggle that many character sheets. Nobody is prepared to juggle that many character sheets.

Venia carries an old man to a couch. Longavea is placed upon a small, decidedly non-sentient couch. This is likely the first piece of furniture that the man's sat on that hasn't been sentient. Though, perhaps the Rose Cult did have a point with the sentient chairs- they were pretty comfortable. He's told to get some rest.

LONGAEVA: Of course, miss Praefortis.
LONGAEVA: I look forward to hearing of your discoveries tomorrow.
LONGAEVA: For now... my mind is rather cloudy, and yet ever so clear.
LONGAEVA: History is beginning to flood back into me, and... I am not so sure how much I welcome it all.

LONGAEVA: ...We may need to talk in the morning, Venia.
LONGAEVA: I... may wish to talk about this.

With that, Longaeva slumps over, sinks into the couch, and falls asleep. Just upstairs meanwhile, Maria has immediately decided how she wants her Lego warmech to be armed. Magic. The snowball wand that Venny made. Could he make use of that? In response, Chaos pulls out the Max Slash Min from the inventory, and tapes it to the mecha. Given that this is now a Tier 8 snowball wand, the lethal power of the mech has gone up exponentially.

CHAOS: by george
CHAOS: i[t]'s perfe[c][t]
CHAOS: i would make [t]he wand more awesome bu[t] [c]ommon sense and also arbi[t]rary limi[t]a[t]ions [t]ell me i[t] [c]an'[t] be more awesome.

It's beautiful. A weird mish-mash of Lego blocks, an animatronic skeleton, and now a snowball wand. Though, uh... does this thing actually work? It's entirely unclear. Like, they used normal lego blocks, and none of those fancy technical bits. It's basically a statue. It's absolutely nothing Chaos can't fix, but still.

CHAOS: hmm
CHAOS: [t]omorrow morning i shall finish [t]his up for you
CHAOS: how does [t]ha[t] sound?
CHAOS: for now, you [c]an go say hi [t]o venia, who i'm pre[t][t]y sure has jus[t] killed spark

Nia perks up upon hearing that. They killed Spark? Nia hops downstairs, ambushing Venia from behind with a sneak attack hug. This deals 5d6+4 points of Crushing Damage to Venia's ribs. Though Nia took a beating earlier in the battle, it seems Chi was able to completely patch her up. Save for a band-aid that's on her nose. It's likely she's keeping it there just for style, though.

NIA: Veeeeenia! You're back!
NIA: You alright? Did you really kill Spark?
NIA: I bet that old geezer didn't stand a chance after you broke his ship in half!
NIA: How'd it go? Tell me!

She demands storytime. DEMANDS.

Auth continues his conversation with Taeda. He sort of expected the question about where the question originated from. He notes something about how needing to work with Aoki brought these sorts of this to the forefront.

TAEDA: Oh, I see!
TAEDA: I'm flattered that I came to mind then!

Taeda smiles, ever so gently. Auth then answers the question- is she old enough to join the Highchair? Well, Omorika truthfully isn't that much older than her. Taeda shakes her head.

TAEDA: I-I guess she's not older than me, b-but when I look at her... I see someone who's wise beyond their years!
TAEDA: Each member of the Highchair is s-so powerful, in their own way... and I'm just a little priestess.
TAEDA: With a gun. A priestess with a gun.
TAEDA: B-But... I guess you're right. I-I've done a pretty good job, haven't I?
TAEDA: And Omorika... she'd be a great tutor for me, wouldn't she?
TAEDA: Ah, I wonder what she'd think of this idea? I-I wonder if she'd really think so highly of me...

She blushes ever so slightly. And yet, it seems she's oblivious to the fact that Omorika was the one who commissioned the Author to come here. Perhaps he should go and grab Omorika herself to... "go in for the kill", so to speak?

OH MY GOD WE'RE ACTUALLY DONE. We'll have one or two more updates dedicated to this night time cycle, and then I'll load in the next chapter! Or a home invasion. One of the two. Maybe they go hand in hand. Who knows?

Add 5 Skillpoints to SPC, 1 to HP and 1 to SKI.

"Longinus" is upgraded into "Grandiflora".
T7 Grandiflora
"No King rules forever. No Rose blooms forever."
(+3 SKI)
(Thorn: If an enemy attacks you within Range 1, deal (7-10) Slashing Damage to them before their attack connects, scaling with SKI at a third-rate. This also applies Weaken2 for two rounds.
If this downs / kills the target, you don't take damage. This activates regardless of a successful counter.
Triggers once per round.)
(Shear: You ignore 20% of a foe's Slashing Resistance. Against targets with no Slashing Resistance, your Slashing attacks apply Armorbreak3 or an Elblight2 of your choice for two rounds.)
(Prune: As a bonus action, you may deal (8-8) Slashing damage in Range 1, with +50% HIT. You may instead use your full action to deal (14-14) Slashing damage in Range 1, with +100% HIT and +10 CRT; this is Unavoidable and Lethal to any target with 33% MHP or less. Both of these scale at a half-rate with STR. Using either of these disables Thorns for this round.)
(x2 Slot)

T8 Requiem Ultima

Won't work on foes without MP gauges. +1% Mana Damage per SKI. Damage from this passive scales with STR at a x2 rate. You may also gain stacks of Concentration.

You may now obtain up to 3 stacks of Concentration. A single stack is gained by hitting a foe with your Basic Attack, or having a successful meditation. You may only gain one stack a round.

Hexagon immediately.. well, switches out the Foam Hammer for it's upgraded form. He then drops a point out of SPC and switches it to STR to preserve that sweet, sweet 20 SPC. Aw yee.
(He also notes that the trinkets he's made and equipped are listed somewhat incorrectly in the inventory: he's equipped them, yet in their listing they are listed as 1 /1 Available, even though they also have a note saying he has them equipped. I think this issue might be on a few other things in the high tiers too, unsure.)

The House - Hexagon squints at Acacia awkwardly.

HEXAGON: HELLO, CHAIRWITCH. YOU SEEM ODDLY PERTURBED FOR ONE WHO HAS JUST ASCENDED, LEGALLY, TO BE THE LORD OF THE LAND. "TECHNICAL CHAIRHEIR", YES? AND EVEN BEYOND THAT, SOMEONE WHO HAS ACCOMPLISHED A GREAT MUCH IN THE PAST FEW DAYS. IS SOMETHING THE MATTER WITH OUR CENTER OF OPERATIONS, PERHAPS?
HEXAGON: (WAIT IS THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS SECTION CANON OR NOT SHOULD I BE ABLE TO READ THAT UH OH)
HEXAGON: (ALSO SHOULDN'T SHE HAVE EYE OF THE STORM IN HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS?)

He vaguely considers feeding IKEA's head a fish. It is extremely tempting. Very very tempting. Maybe he should ask the DJs the etiquette for severed head diets.

Sequoia's Lake - Hexagon gives the Legion member at the lake a glance, and shakes its head.

HEXAGON: AH. THE ITI. NO WORRY THEN. I AM QUITE WELL ARMED. COMES WITH THE PROFESSION AND THE PRODUCTION. I'M SURE YOU'VE HEARD THE STORIES OF THE SPHERBREAKERS THE PAST FEW DAYS?
HEXAGON: ..CURIOUS. APOLOGIES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCES I HAVE CAUSED. NO TROUBLE INTENDED, TRUST ME! FEEL QUITE FREE TO PARTAKE IN FISHING AS WELL, DESPITE MY PRESENCE. IF ANY ITI MAKE THEIR MOVES, I WOULD BE QUITE WILLING TO CLEAR THEM UP.
HEXAGON: IS IT THE TRADITION HERE TO PAY RECOMPENSE FOR INCONVENIENCES CAUSED? IF I HAVE DEPRIVED YOUR UNIT OF A DAY'S FISH, THEN PERHAPS I COULD PAY IT BACK- FOOD FOR A NIGHT, OR SOMETHING SIMILAR. I AM UNSURE OF THE EXACT CUSTOMS HERE.

..He's somewhat missed the point.

With all of the actual talking done, his eyes flare red for a second, doing a quick check of all the information and areas the Spherebreakers have gathered, using that.. nebulous info-sheet we have. I don't know the IC status. Right. A small checklist appears in front of him, and he mutters something before glitching out again.

In the Rosen Catacombs, a fuzzy Hexagon clone pops into existence in front of the cooking Maw. It slowly edges towards him, then reaches into thin air to retrieve 100 Credits. It then chucks it over to the Maw and politely waits. This will be tasty, it probably thinks. Or not. Random shenanigan robot clone's minds are weird and mysterious. if anyone asks its just the out of combat application of hexagons trait

A second clone pops into existence in The Forge, and slides on over to the suits of sentient armor discussed in the Description. It casts Terraform once or twice to carefully pop them out of their stands and against the wall, then gives them a look and waves.

HEXAGON: HELLO. YOU: ROSE CULT ALIGNED? ME: SPHEREBREAKERS. "ROSE EATERS", TO BE.. POETIC! THAT IS THE TERM, I BELIEVE. YOUR LEADER HAS BEEN RECENTLY VANQUISHED. CAST DOWN AND OBLITERATED. OPINION ON THIS? ARE YOU HAPPY IN YOUR STATE OF METAL? DO TELL.

At the Vault Ruins, yet another clone walks out of thin air, glancing at the impressive smoking ruins. Wow! This Spark really knew how to cause a lot of pointless destruction. The clone takes notes for a moment, then gets to its actual task. Resource collection! All those handy Creation Meteorites, just lying there. So careless! The clone reaches into the vague inventoryspace and pops out the Everdrill, appreciatively tapping against the floor. Gazing down at the floor, it manifests a set of Praetorian Armor just in case around it as it spots the Meteos, spitting water, and- well, actually, this entire area just in general. Hm. Y'know, none of this is up to code!

Reaching into thin air, the Hexagon clone pulls out.. a thing of caution tape. The bright yellow stuff. Speeding around, it puts that 6 MOV to use quickly cordoning off the entirety of the ruined area. There! Everything should be good now. The pure SAFETY radiating from the safe inspires it. Everything is up to regulation now!

..oh yeah, except for the burning meteorites. And meteor Iti. Y'know, the tape might not be the most efficient? Uh. Hm. The clone looks from the Drill, to the crater, to the ore, and sighs. Oh well, actual work must be done. Just in case, they whack the Everdrill with the Foam Pistol Hammer Whatever, giving it the mystical one shot power. Now armed, it activates the flight systems on the armor and carefully hovers down into the ruins, gaping- There are children here! Actually, with a second glance, the children seem very well armed, so the clone just.. slowly floats away from them and starts mining away at the ore with the Everdrill, zipping from Meteorite to Meteorite and collecting as much as it can. He occasionally recovers a tome of Terraform from.. I dunno, robot Hammerspace or something, using it smooth out the ground, clear rubble, and move Meteorites over to him. If any of the Meteos attack, he just quickly zaps them with the Everdrill- or failing that just shoots the Foam Pistol at them until they cease life.

Stats

Adria immediately equips the Chronodust Continuum, ecstatic with the result.

She removes 1 KP from STR, DEF, and SPC. She reallocates them into 1 AGI, Manafuel1 for Abyssal Vortex, and Manafuel1 on Watchful Eye.

She also swaps some resists around.
-Spark of Creation+: A 40% Electric resist to 40% Water, and 30% Water resist to 30% Electric
-Mana Flower: 20% Ice resist to 20% Water

Weakness: Piercing(10%)
Resists: Electric(100%), Ice(90%), Water(60%), Dark(50%)

Mari

Up in the Skylabs...

Mari notes that a portable shield generator in the same vein as the one surrounding Stasis City would probably be difficult. Adria nods.

ADRIA: You presume correctly.
ADRIA: Though while most tech doesn't work outside the barrier, we've developed a medical band that slows a seriously injured person's body to the point where they don't bleed out, giving time for medics and surgeons to do their work.
ADRIA: It only last a short time after activation outside the barrier, so whoever's out there still needs to act fast.
ADRIA: ...But yeah, the barrier takes a lot of energy. Smaller barriers would still take far too much as they are now.
ADRIA: Maybe once we get you up to speed on all the intricacies you'll have an idea for it, who knows.

Mari then comments that the Peacewalkers and Cityfolk almost seem like Chairians and Tabletopians, except not at each other's throats 24/7/365. Adria shrugs.

ADRIA: Just an odd coincidence.
ADRIA: Neither of us particularly like the idea of fighting each other. Especially when danger's already literally everywhere like it is.

Mari mentions she'd probably go stir-crazy after a few hours in the countryside.

ADRIA: Haha, yep, same here.
ADRIA: Except maybe not quite as extreme.

Mari then notes that she's probably not gonna get sleep tonight, and also offers to join Adria for a cup of coffee tomorrow morning before they head out.

ADRIA: I'm probably not gonna be able to sleep either.
ADRIA: ...O-obvious reasons.
ADRIA: But I'd love to join you for a cup tomorrow!
ADRIA: I wonder if Omorika does have some sort of crazy coffee available, like you said...

Someone's eager.

Adria briefly checks a hardlight display as she finishes the chips and Mari finishes the coffee. It looks... complicated, even by science standards. Though that's likely just because it's an unfamiliar field to bystanders.

ADRIA: I think we should catch up a bit "later". We're starting to veer into unsafe conditions for this timeline.
ADRIA: It should immediately fix itself once we split up. But we should be fine to meet up again after that.

ADRIA: So um... see you "later".

Assuming there's nothing further (in which case she sticks around a bit longer), Adria gets up and starts walking off, waving goodbye to Mari on her way out.

The timeline should hopefully repair itself at this point.

---

Meanwhile, on the ground (and probably heading back to the house)...

Adria beams a smile at Mari as she produces a new coat for her. She immediately starts pulling it on.

ADRIA: Wow... this is a phenomenal job, especially for your first time working with this stuff!
ADRIA: We used to use a lot of this type of thing back when we didn't know the full extent of everything around us, or how to efficiently harness the energy like we do now.
ADRIA: While we don't know our full history form very far back, we still have a ton of old tech lying around in bulk storage and museums and such.
ADRIA: You should be able to figure things out in no time at all!

Everyone around the duo may start to feel a tingle going down their spine as Adria inhales rather deeply.

Oh boy here we go again

Adria Temporal Tech Ramble
ADRIA: Typically, we don't use Chronodust in such an outward manner on the planet. Here is fine as there's not much to dampen the energy from the stuff.
ADRIA: On Nedilia, though, a different approach is necessary because of that aforementioned energy dampening. Typically it's encased in something that doesn't conduct the energy very well.
ADRIA: Same thing with the... "wiring", I guess is the closest analogy. A conductive material encased in a non-conductive material.
ADRIA: Of course, it's different than materials used in electricity; rubber and some metals for electricity.
ADRIA: Crystals and some irritatingly reactive metals don't conduct temporal energy very well due to their typically very rigid structure. Chronodust crystals and a few others are the exception to the rule, obviously.
ADRIA: Alloys are typically better than pure metals, but crystals provide the ability to overlap with electrical currents, so they're most often used in places where nothing's crossing.
ADRIA: Meanwhile, certain gaseous substances conduct temporal energy exceptionally well. Not air, though. It's typically impure by nature, and conductivity requires high purity of select gases.
ADRIA: I think it also has something to do with the particles themselves... something like larger atoms being more susceptible to quantum shenanigans?
ADRIA: I might have to ask the chemists and physicists for a refresher on that...
ADRIA: That being said, though, we sometimes use Chronodust to substitute for gases, and is the best conductor we have our hands on currently.
ADRIA: Though we still want to conserve some for future use. So we use Chronodust crystals for any sort of adapter that needs it, as gases obviously tend to escape when presented with the open end of the conduit.
ADRIA: The conduits are, as you may have guessed, hard to maintain due to their crystalline structure, and any break causes the gas to leak out.
ADRIA: The crystal and Chronodust can be recycled though, so it's no biggie on that end.

ADRIA: As for the devices themselves... well, much like electricity, we can manipulate chronological energy in specific ways to achieve what we want. Capacitors, coils, that kinda thing in electrical systems.
ADRIA: Depending on their use, these can have a wide range of applications, from tiny microprocessors to massive electromagnets!
ADRIA: Likewise, for temporal energy, a straight run of conduit doesn't do much. But specific shapes, simple devices, and arrangements can produce wildly differing results!
ADRIA: I'd need to take you on a lab tour once we're done around here, I think it'd be better to show you rather than just tell you!

Adria relaxes, finally done with her ramble.

ADRIA: Anyway...

She notices the party setup as they approach the house and tilts her head.

ADRIA: Um... okay? When did all this get here?

Hannah

Somewhere above the house...

Hannah circles a few times overhead, trying to spot any intruders before she heads down. She's not sure why there's a party area nearby, nor who even had the time to set it up, but she figures it's probably best not to question these things in the off chance it's Chaos' doing.

She lands behind the house, slowly coming to a stop on the ground. With a sigh, she hops off and shoves it back into the inventory. Was she even that useful, all considered...?

She hears the smacking of a broom from up on the roof, and parkours up to investigate. Despite not being as agile as Sophia, she's still more than able to jump from windowsill to window siding. She grabs onto the rooftop pretty effortlessly from there.

Once she's hoisted herself onto the roof, she sees Lutea struggling with a Harpy. Well, not really, more like the Harpy was having trouble with her instead. Regardless, Hannah decides that the best course of action would be to calmly walk forward and stab the Harpy in the head with her spear. With Lutea holding them down it's a pretty easy kill.

HANNAH: Ugh, harpies... I've seen enough of them to last a lifetime.

She shoves the resultant corpse off the roof. And with another sigh, she addresses the duo next to her.

HANNAH: Hey, you two alright?

Sophia

After running around for so long, Sophia needs a break. But there ain't much for a kid to do around here.

Fortunately for her, it's party time at the house! She runs out of the house and straight into the party atmosphere, and she's immediately awestruck. After a quick wave to Adria (who waves back) and Mari, she hits the dance floor.

She then starts dancin'.

Dorothy

Dorothy trails a good deal behind Sophia. After today, unlike the other two girls, she was exhausted.

Running around in a superheated wasteland was one thing.

Watching her friend get nearly killed in front of her is a whole other can of worms, and she's very clearly still stressed about that. Even the gentle flow of the small amounts of water in the basement are enough to make her more than a little on edge.

She's about to go upstairs, but then she hears the noise of the party pack and stops for a moment.

DOROTHY: (u-um, maybe not. noisy...)

But uh... what now? Well, Dorothy notices a certain Scarlet nestled inside a chest. While normally she'd question the safety of such a place to rest, she seems rather comfy in there. It's probably fine. Especially since Dorothy's there to provide air should the lid accidentally close.

Dorothy pulls the nearby bed over to the chest area, jumps onto it, and flops facefirst onto the pillow, instantly fast asleep.

It's hard being moral support.

God

Shelly almost gets clipped by the beam of pure Migi, grabbing onto the chain and yanking herself away.

SHELLY: Nh... too close-

And then the corpse of the fallen god begins to reanimate. Under the control of the millions if not billions of Migi, the parasites form the muscle structure necessary for mobility, and the wings stitch themselves back together.

It's pissed.

And even then, Shelly could only manage a sigh.

SHELLY: ...No. No this is way too much for us three to handle on our own.
SHELLY: Even considering Chaos'... shenanigans.

She pulls herself quickly into the sub. While she seems only mildly bothered by the radiation at the moment, that could quickly change...

SHELLY: Full speed retreat. We're gonna need backup. And more favorable terrain.
SHELLY: It's probably going to come out later, considering how pissed it is. We can take it on outside.

If Chaos hasn't already done so for some reason, she shoves them out of the way and pilots the sub herself to try and get everyone out of there alive.

Kalis's eyes stop doing the apple cursor loading thing as they snap back to playing the game and start poring over the patch notes to update their build. They've got to say, this world's mechanics are really well designed.

- Upgrade Entropic Accumulation to level 3: The line "Full action spells casted through this will prevent you from using another full action spell this round" is removed. Entropy now grants +4 CRT per stack rather than +3. (MP restoration is not increased.) In order to patch an exploit with Force Nail and self-cloning that I found, the trait recieves the following addendum: "- This trait dos not proc (neither grants Entropy nor cashes it in) if the attack was a crit which was guaranteed by Primed which was applied by Kalis this round."

- Swap Operator's Suit for Mitosis Membrane. Craft the Mitosis Membrane up to the T7 Mimesis Membrane, using 5 Royalmatter, 10 Replicant Matter, and 2 Biosamples. It gains +1 MHP and +1 MMP on top of the original, and the first two paragraphs of the split ability now read:
CODE
Once per battle, as a Bonus Action, you may split into two. Each copy of yourself has 50% of your MHP and SHP, but full other stats. These halves cannot take full/move/item actions on the round they form if you have already taken that kind of action this round. This consumes both of your summon slots.

You may control both halves of yourself. Each one deals 50% DMG, applied as a final modifier. As a Bonus Action (for both halves), if your halves are within Range 1 of one another, they may re-merge into the full you. You cannot take full/move/item actions on the round you re-form if either of your clones have already taken that kind of action this round.

- Craft the Lucky Infinity into the Lucky Singularity, consuming an Order Singularity, a Lily of Infinite Quietus, 7 Entrophies, and 2 Eversteel. New stats:
<i>Precisely one luckier than the universe could handle.</i>
+10 CRT, +3 DGE, +5 CAV, +1 SPC
CODE
Luckiest You: Whenever you are attacked, you have a 20% chance to gain 20 SP. If this triggers, and the attack would down/kill you, you will survive at 1 HP. Still works at 1 HP. SP gain will only occur once per round, unless the attack would down/kill you.

This will automatically trigger the first time in a fight that an attack would down/kill you.

- Craft Wild Magic into the T8 Wild Light, consuming 1 Creationmeld, 1 Elemental Prisma, 1 Mythril Ingot, 1 Orchid Jet, 6 Gaiameld Ingots, and 1 Yggdrasil Splinter. New stats:
+2 CRT on top of the +6 it already has.
Base damage (15-16), damage type changed to Light.
CODE
WEAPON SKILL: Flux Cascade: When casting a single-target offensive spell, you may opt to make it deal 50% DMG, and then Bounce twice to targets within Range 1-2. Passively, grants +1 Spell Slot, and when you roll a minicrit, you have a 1 in 3 chance to get a full crit. Spells that fullcrit that you spent mana to cast instead act as a minicrit, then recast themselves on the same enemy for free. (Flux Cascade's active is not applied to recasts.)

- Upcraft the Chaos-Binder's Squarelet to the T7 Chaos-Binder's Halo, consuming 5 Eversteel, 4 Luminous Crystals, and 6 Soulblessed Alloy. It gains +3 RES on top of its previous +1, as well as 20% Glitch resistance.

- Dupe the Helixian Processor and swap the Heavenbloom for it.

- Remove the level of Manafuelled on Chaos Bolt (total +1 KP)

- Select spells as follows:
Chaos Bolt
Focus Energy
Skeletal Toss
Force Nail (I did patch my treat so it doesn't break it but it's still just good)
And in the buffed slot from Powerhouse of the Cell, Pow Hammer. I then buy one further level of Manafuelled on it. (This is because it will now hit 8 Buff Levels when under the effects of both Loaded Spellbook and Helixian Processor, even with half SHP from being a mitosis clone.) (total 0 KP)

- Swap Endorphin Rush for Soul Hauler (total -1 KP)

- 3 KP in DEF to cancel out Mimesis Membrane's drawback (total -4 KP)

- And the last 9 KP in AGI (total -13 KP)

Destiny proceeds to craft harderTM.

God Tier Emblem
(T7) God Tier Emblem
"She's pulling that four- AND SHE'S GOT THE ACE! WHAT AM I SEEING RIGHT NOW!"
+2 SKI, +5 CRT, +2 HIT
Clutch: Once per battle, if you take any blow that would down you, ignore it and survive it with 10 HP OR your current HP: whichever is higher.
You then gain Stasis for a round, then gain Evasive4, Empowered4, and Mending15 for two rounds.
After Clutch is used up, you may regain Clutch after downing 5 enemies without being downed again. (These cannot be assists.)

Items Used: Pro Emblem, 7 Royalmatter, 2 Structured Matter, 10 Replicant Matter

Destiny, done with all her crafting, suddenly teleports next to Marron.
DESTINY: I need to borrow your arm. You can have this in the mean time.
Destiny proceeds to slap Bergilmir's Right Arm on the table, and in a quick motion takes slices the Weaver's Palm from Marron. Destiny proceeds to craft.

Hand of the Seamstress
(T7) Hand of the Seamstress
"The hand that threads and cuts life."
Piercing (10%), Earth (20%), Dark (20%), Light (-20%)

Needlepoint: You have 20% Stabpierce.

Necrothrash: As a bonus action, you may spend 10 HP to inflict Bleed3 for 2 rounds on the target of your next basic attack. Apply a choice of Weakened3, Uninspired3, or Armorbreak4 for 2 rounds as well.

Rapid Thorn: As a Free Action, you may deal (1-1)x5 Piercing Damage with Slip1 to a target within Range 1-3. Uses cost (5*x) HP, x being the amount of times it has been used in a single round. Only roll for the first hit: if the first hit connects, then all hits connect. If the first hit misses, then all hits miss.

Unique: Only one of this trinket may be equipped at a time.

Items Used: Weaver's Palm, 3 King's Armor Fragment, 1 Mythril Ingot, 1 Lily of Infinite Quietus, 6 Spiralfloof Floofballs, 5 Elden Everwood

Puppetmaster's Wings
(T7 Armor) Puppetmaster's Wings
"She who controls the strings from heaven."
+5 STR, +6 AGI, +5 SKI, +6 CRT, -6 DEF
Piercing (30%), Dark (50%), Slashing (-20%), Light (-20%), Air (-10%)

Flight: You gain the power of Flight.

Supercombine: Your critical hits (of all types) will deal an additional (12-14) Unavoidable Slashing Damage. If the target enemy is under 25% HP when this happens the attack is Lethal. This scales with STR at a 2/3rd rate. Cannot trigger off of itself.

Clothcutter: Your Basic Attacks gain Armorpierce3. This applies to all hits of your Basic Attack.

Materials Used: Puppeteer's Wings, 4 Fourth Nail Coffin, 5 Amberroot Log, 4 Darkweave

Destiny comes back with Marron's new arm.
DESTINY:I'm back. It should be quite more powerful now.
DESTINY:... I'll let you put it on.

Through the power of the equipment system the arm automagically attaches, and works like normal. Berg's arm warps into the Inventory again.
DESTINY: ...or that.

"Okay, my turn!"

Asha pulls out her character sheet. It's... surprisingly normal. There's no quadruple multiclass to get everything scaling off the same stat.

"Okay, so my guy is named Sir William Pummelton. He's a tiefling who was orphaned at a very young age and taken in by a group of monks. He learned ancient monk arts and became the strongest of the trainees! But not the actual monks. They're probably higher level than him."

"Also! Due to his tiefling heritage he has cool bird feathers on his face and back! They don't do anything, but they look cool, so I decided to invest a bit in Charisma to represent that. Alsoooo he's a Sir because at some point he got knighted. I'm not sure how that fits into his backstory but I was hoping Chloe could help me with that."

"I just really want him to be a Sir."

Chloe probably breathes a sigh of relief that Asha's character isn't really that minmaxed- she just wanted to make a character that looked cool.

"So, in combat, he's gonna be up front and punching, with a bit of monk magic in there for utility, and out of combat he'll be a good face for the party due to his charisma. Although, he's not very book smart, so I might have to rely on you guys for that!"

~~

While everyone else finalises their characters, she excuses herself for a moment to speak to Chaos.

"Chaos, I've come to bargain." She chucks down the Replica Dreamer on the counter of the shop, then puts on her best poker face. "How many cool swords will you give me for this?"

Chaos claps his hands. Now this. THIS is a work of art. Sure, it's a crudely crafted piece of wooden trash made by Spark, but it's a crudely crafted piece of wooden trash made by Spark. This will look absolutely amazing on his mantle. Given that Chaos lacks a fireplace though, he'll probably just tape it to the roof of his shop or whatever.

CHAOS: hmmmm
CHAOS: i'll give you [t]hree swords and a [c]an of bepis

Chaos deploys the can onto the shop counter, immediately followed by three swords. The can is eviscerated by the blades. Delicious, cold bepis spews onto the countertop. A tragedy. Asha strokes her chin sagely. The delicious, cool bepis leaking onto the counter is a hard deal to beat, but she tries her hand at haggling.

"Make it three more eviscerated cans of bepis, and we have a deal."

She's crazy. She knows she's asking for too much, but she has to give it a shot. Chaos snaps his fingers. They clip through each other weirdly instead of making any sort of noise, but he's pretty sure he got the point across.

CHAOS: you s[t]rike a hard bargain
CHAOS: bu[t] deal

Chaos stacks three more cans of bepis onto the shop counter. The cans have come pre-eviscerated, as Chaos keeps a myriad of products for all situations on hand. Despite being pre-eviscerated, bepis spews forth from them nonetheless. Asha awkwardly picks up the three swords and four eviscerated cans of bepis in a workplace-health-and-safety-inappropriate manner, covering herself in bepis in the process, then bows to Chaos.

"As always, it was a pleasure doing business with you. Please enjoy your... thing? Yes."

Chaos bows back. As he bows, he slams his face into the shop counter, absorbing multiple cans worth of bepis into his face and into his cellular(?) structure.

CHAOS: yes

Asha hobbles back to the group with her prizes, still covered in delicious, cool, acidic bepis.

The stats for the three swords are here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_xo...75807&range=A44
Since copying them into a spoiler would be a pointless endeavour.

She also gets four eviscerated cans of bepis from her exceptional bargaining skills.

~~

She purchases a copy of the Operant Emblem, making some slight tweaks to change Eyeless Gift to Relentless Chase. The stats are also in the sheet above!
Materials used: x2 Starite.

Speaking of the sheet above, Asha replaces Nettle and respecs into that. (Purchasing the necessary Kid's Hat.)

"So, this is your house." Bauhaus looks at the House, and all the stuff strewn around it. The DJ Headz animatronic plays ear-destroying dubstep in the distance, probably.

"I will be keeping watch." He turns his back on the house, and looks out for anything particularly suspicious.

...Boy oh boy, I wish I could find that irritating seed of self-doubt inside me and excise it from my system. It's really starting to get in the way at a crucial time.

Zone 0 - The House

It is done. Several items of use to Calibri have been assembled. That is good. He contemplates his creation for a while...

"..."

"Hey, are you done yet?"

Calibri flinches, turning to Verdana and only bothering to reply with a quick nod. While this does prompt Verdana to headtilt in turn, he decides not to question it, simply moving aside to let Calibri leave the area. After that, Verdana turns to the workbench, cracking his knuckles and preparing to get to work...

...A shame my motivation isn't helping me out here. I'll need it for the T8s.

Guardian Shortsword
INPUT: Magenta Prism, Abies's Shortsword, Phase Matter, Gaiameld Ingots, a ruby
OUTPUT: Guardian Shortsword

Flavor text machine broke

(T7) Guardian Shortsword
(in Verdana font, bolded, with colour #ee4a2d) VERDANA: I'M SURE YOU WERE A GOOD MAN, ABIES.
(15-16) Slashing
WEAPON PASSIVE: When you Guard, target an entity in Range 1-3. If they're an enemy, apply Taunt for two rounds. If they're an ally, redirect half of the damage they take this round to yourself. You have a 100% chance to counter the first three foes to damage you or an ally within Range 1 this round. Passively, you have Skirmisher and +1 Spell Slot.
Range: 1
Retreat: 2
Counter: 8 (COUNTER: Elemental Lash. Range: 1-5. Perform a regular counter on the target. Deals Slashing, Light, or Earth damage depending on what would deal the most damage. Gains +10% Counter damage per tile of distance between you and the target.)
Hit: 8
Stat Changes: +2 MHP, +1 INT, +2 DEF

Cherubian Helper
INPUT: Chibi Steve, Searing Clusters, Mantle Clusters, Red Rock, Red Sap Blobs, a ruby
OUTPUT: Cherubian Helper

Don't ask how that works. If you really need a flavor, Verdana lets the Chibi Steve go explore his mindscape for a while, rituals are involved with red things, and one of the Cherubians dwelling there flies out, unaffected by the thymefield at last.

(T7) Cherubian Helper
A small white-faced red-eyed creature, clad in red robes and bestowed with relatively large feathery wings.
(+3 DEF) (Helper)
Piercing (10%) Earth (60%) Fire (30%)

Helper: This adorable critter will fly by your shoulder for the battle. Their actions are all bonus actions, and they may use one per round.

[Construct]: Summon a cover tile named "Crystal Spire" within Range 1-2, which has 20 HP, 10 DGE bonus, and 6 AC.
[Deconstruct]: Destroy all tiles in a Range 1 cone. For each tile destroyed, recover (2-2) HP and (2-2) MP.
[Curtail]: Deal (10-10) Physical damage to an enemy in Range 1-2 and apply Weakened3 for one round.
[Amplify]: Grant +3 buff levels to any spells cast by your current owner this round.
[Reconnaissance]: Move from your current owner to one of their allies and stay with them instead. Range 1-2.

Ardent Aegis
INPUT: Able Aegis, Gaiameld Ingots, Amberoot Logs, maybe a little bit of Mythril ingots
OUTPUT: Ardent Aegis

You probably can guess what the drill is with this one just by the list of things going into it. Namely a lot of awkward wood manipulation from someone who's seen it but doesn't actually know how it works. And maybe a bit of actual smithing thrown in. It do be like that.

(T7) Ardent Aegis
I'll hold them off. All of them.
(+5 DEF) (Gaia Eruption) (Spell Knight) (Unique: Shield) (-1 AGI)
Slashing (30%), Fire (40%), Earth (40%)

Gaia Eruption: When Guarding, deal (10-12) Earth damage to all enemies in Range 1-2 of you. Apply Ensnared3 for two rounds to all targets hit. | If you get hit three or more times during a round where you Guarded, proc this effect again after the third hit, stacking the Ensnared intensity if it hits the same enemies multiple times.

Spell Knight: You gain +3 AC while Guarding, and if your next action after a turn where you Guarded is a full action spell, it gains +2 Buff Levels.

Meanwhile, Calibri wanders off to go track down Chloe. After all, there's things to discuss. Namely the matter of swords... Once he's found her, well, he has no idea what to say at first. Better hope he can improvise something.

"...Heya. So, uh... People seem to be getting their gear sorted for tomorrow. I've drawn up a few plans myself. There's just... a thing I need to check with you."

Here comes the hard part. Calibri feels awkward about this. It probably shows on his expression and mannerisms.

"...Can- uh... m- may I use the Azure Faith? It by all rights should be yours, so I don't blame you if you want it for yourself instead. It's just... Really fitting. For what I wanna be doing. And I've done up an upgrade to the Excal, so..."

He trails off for a moment, then promptly buries his face in his own hands and makes several bizarre noises. Once he gets himself together again, he sighs quietly, refocusing on Chloe.

"...So... yeah. Your call."

Lato feels something change. She's in the middle of training herself, and thus freezes up during the midpoint of slicing a dummy in twain, hovering in place with the sword buried halfway through it.

"...Hm."

She soon figures out what prompted that feeling. Somebody used her primary form in crafting. Still, nothing to worry about...

The Old Pass...?

"...Calm, calm, jus' gotta git calm..."

EN appears to be having a bit of a rough time with stress at the moment. Understandable, given the circumstances. The radiation coming from her briefly spikes, then slowly fades away, which probably doesn't help with the contents of the room but at least should help ensure she doesn't accidentally poison everyone around her by accident. The consensus to flee at least helps. Though, considering the situation, things could get bad...

"...Full support for leaving and coming back later. But if you two need more time or room to flee, let me know."

She dropped her accent. That probably isn't good, given the context.

More crafting!

Saint's Heart

Saint's Heart (T7) Trinket
Let your heart be set and your will be done.

(+4 DEF) (Eternal Protection) (Hope Springs Eternal)
Fire (20%) Dark (50%) Water (30%) Light (-10%)

(Eternal Protection) - Start every battle with a Divine Shield. Your Divine Shield takes three hits to break.

(Hope Springs Eternal) - Whenever you revive an ally, both you and your ally gain Divine Shields.

Items Used: Blessed Web, Mythril Ingot(x1), Eversteel (x2), Divinity Gem.

Physical Description: Several glittering, golden shields that float around the user, projecting a huge, and difficult to break, shield that can reach out and protect others and replenish itself.

Iubar Seraphim

Iubar Seraphim (T8) Armour
I will protect you. I will give everything to ensure it.

Stats: +14 MMP, +4 INT, +1 SPC, +2 SKI, +2 DEF, (Together We Fly!), (Invincible Soul)
Resists: Dark (80%) Poison (20%) Piercing (-10%) Air (-10%)

Together We Fly is unchanged.

(Invincible Soul) - Meditation instantly succeeds when cast, and immediately gives MP. You may transfer your MP gain to an ally within Range 1.

Items Used: Tutamen Cherubim, Creationmeld, Soulblessed Alloy (x5), Livingwood Logs (x2)

Physical Description: An unlikely number of tightly knit magic feathers protect most of the body itself, a blindingly bright ivory *concept* of protection. Magical influence allows for the feathers to array themselves into wings, or more heavy armour should the wearer happen to require it. Somehow, a note coming from one "Michael d.E" has found its way into one of those infinite pockets of Auth's coat.

And, with that, the final assignment of KP:

+2 SKI, +2 HP, +4 DEF.

Auth nods.

AUTH: I couldn't think of too many better candidates myself.
AUTH: You've stuck with us the whole time with nary a complaint. At least, none I am aware of. That's some serious loyalty and courage that you've shown, and those are good traits for someone in the Highchair. And you have specific driving principles and perspectives due to your experience in the Church of Helix that I, at the very least, think would be useful in the near future.

Auth nods at Taeda's complaint.

AUTH: A lowly priestess with a gun who can invoke your leading deity personally. I've felt pretty unnerved with some of your Special tricks that you pull off, there's definitely something divine in it.
AUTH: Omo would definitely be willing to tutor you. And even if you didn't end up joining the Highchair, I personally would be outraged if the Church of Helix didn't bestow you some incredible rank.
AUTH: Thanks for talking, Taeda. I've got some peace of mind with having some answers to provide for that question.

After goodbyes, Auth floats back to Omorika and gives a thumbs up.

AUTH: I think she'd be willing to do it if you asked. Maybe you should have a word too, to verify my thoughts?

They say that there's no rest for the wicked, until they close their eyes for good.

As someone wicked, fundamentally, I disagree. One may always repent. I may have done terrible things in the past. That's why I help this coward now.

Crafting and stats time, yahoo!

Eye of Mork
(T7 Hat) Eye of Mork
Cunning but brutal.
Stats:
(+5 STR) (+4 SPC) (+8 HIT) (+4 CRIT) (Zzap!)
Resists:
(+40% Electric) (-30% Psychic)

Zzap!: Once per turn as a bonus action, you may spend 8 MP to target an enemy within Range 1-5.

Deal (13-13) Light Damage and (8-8) Mana Damage to them. Apply Manaburn6 to the target for two rounds.

Materials Used: Electrophorus Shell (x1), Mythril Ingot (x1), King's Armor Fragment (x2), Pinsparker (x1), Crystalline Conduit (x1)

Rosen Destroyer
(T7 Trinket) Rosen Destroyer
Bulkier version of the Rosebomb with enhanced firepower. The rose motif now menaces with Orky spikes!
Stats:
(+2 STR) (+2 HIT) (Thump!)
Resists:
(+30% Fire)

Thump!: Twice per battle, you may modify your Basic Attack for this round only to hit at Range 4-7, with Splash 1 and no retreat. It'll deal 75% DMG.

You may also center the explosion on yourself. This will harm you for 60% of the DMG, but you'll then get 4 Retreat with Flying.

Materials Used: Mythril Ingot (x1), Royalmatter (x3), Volcanic Regalia (x1), Dream of Unity Fragment (x10)

Momentum Accelerator
(T7 Trinket) Momentum Accelerator
*bass boosted demoman charge*
Stats:
(+4 MHP) (+1 AGI) (Momentum Slam) (Inertia) (-1 INT)
Resists:
(+20% Crushing)

Momentum Slam: If all of your movement during the Movement Phase is taken in the same direction this round, you may opt to keep moving in that direction until you hit a wall or entity, up to as many additional tiles as you have MOV. (You are considered to have hit an entity if you have enough MOV left to enter their square.)

During Momentum Slam, you may opt to reposition one space to a tile that is perpendicular to your charging direction (this direction is maintained).

If you move into an entity, deal (7-7) Crushing Damage with Armorpierce3 to them, with +10% DMG per tile moved before impact. You will take 66% of this damage.

If you move into a wall or fail to move into anything, you still take 66% of the above damage value.

Inertia: You always have Skirmisher.

Materials Used: Eversteel (x2), Arkalloy (x4), Yggdrasil Splinters (x2), Electrum Ingot (x1)

With the remaining 8 KP, the following stat changes are applied:
+4 STR
-Indomitable, swapped out for Opening Act

And lastly, Level 3 Unstoppable Force receives the following buffs/additions:

+30% base bonus DMG (up from 20%)
Whenever you down someone while under the effects of Unstoppable Force, extend the duration of all Basic Buffs on you by one round. This can only occur once per round.

Remiel swooces on down to the Chem Lab and grabs some extra vials of Teleportatium and Void Liquid.

Remiel Changes:

KP Allocations:
14 HP
14 MP
14 STR
12 INT
14 SKI
20 SPC
Opening Act
Helixical Blessing
Anomalous

Swap Terraform to Bag of Tricks (where doing it man)

Upgrade Mana Manipulator to Reality Reckoner:
I am falling, I am fading.
Replace Mana Leech and Prototype with Passive: Can't Take It With You. +1 Spell Slot. Excess Mana damage is converted to Glitch. Restores MP to self equal to total damage dealt. Damaging MP/SHP/HP lowers that stat's max by the same amount.
[Note: The Max MP/SHP/HP reduction probably doesn't work against bosses. Maybe it reduces by a %, or does something else?]
Materials: Creationmeld, Void Liquid, Darkweave, Crystalline Conduit.

Swap Dream of Dreams to Providence's Topper (buy from Temmie Shop).

Swap Managloom to Birthright (buy from Triangle Emporium).

Upgrade Power-Kore Spike Storm to Shattering Storm.
Over the thunder of denial.
Replace (Spike Storm) with (Lonely Storm). Your Basic Attacks also damage all foes within Range 1 of you and all entities you directly control for 50% damage. These areas may overlap.
Change Phys Resist to Piercing.
Materials: Gaiadiamond Dust, Lily of Infinite Quietus, Host's Emitter

Trait upgrades to Requiem for Raindrops.
Requiem of Raindrops
You may apply Brown Mantle to any ally instead of spawning in. While anyone has Brown Mantle, you are not present on the map but still take up a player slot.

Brown Mantle: Remiel's MP takes damage before your HP. You may use Remiel's MP as your own. Remiel may act as if it was at your location. On enemies, Remiel may additionally control you (as Relinquish Will).

Brown Mantle cannot be removed or copied by external means.

If Remiel's MP is 0 at the end of its turn, or you are downed, you lose Brown Mantle and Remiel appears in a random adjacent square.

You may give or transfer Brown Mantle to an ally in Range 1-3 as a Bonus Action. When you cast Relinquish Will, you may give or transfer Brown Mantle to the target, replacing the normal effects (including upkeep/debuffs).

modifiers WIP

Remiel's special will probably change too, but I'll work on that next round.

(Flavourtext to come later)
