RP: Nia at the Far Off Field

Probably as the last bit of interaction Irongutta gets to have with Nia before chronology catches up and she runs off to ascend Yggdrasil in some kind of a BSOD event, he takes a moment to inspect the wreckage more closely while continuing his conversation with Nia. He began by talking about the airship.

"Yeah, she was found not too long after we started squattin' in that house. There's a tellyporta in the basement that'll take ya there. Handful of this lot we're in have made some repair contributions to the poor thing, including me! I'm sure she'll make a mean dakkajet once we finish fixin 'er up. 'Course I've never flown one myself, but I can guarantee ya that at least fifty percent of the flyboyz that flew a plane that I worked on didn't crash on their maiden voyage! Pretty good track record compared to the standard, I think."

Rooting around in the smoldering wreckage while being careful to avoid any lingering flames, he thought about what parts might've avoided being completely smashed by the gang. "Well, now that I think real 'ard 'bout what might've survived, I think one of the autocannons, at least one of their bomb bays, and that stratoshield thing have pretty good odds. Let's see if we can't find us one of those!"

In his search, Irongutta prioritizes looking for the autocannon and the stratoshield above any other parts.

-The Duel-

Irongutta was, frankly, shocked by Chloe's move. "Bloody 'ell girl, ya ain't messin' around! I'd give ya a compliment, but 'onestly right now I'd much rather throw ya!"

Moving to H10 after Packo has moved, Irongutta gains the benefits of Unstoppable Force, with an additional 5% power from Overflowing Force! He then picks Chloe up with Skeletal Toss and yeets her through the Sticky Bomb at C6 allllll the way to the tile C3. "Get outta 'ere!" Irongutta shouted.

-Battle: Scale Yggdrasil Defense-

Irongutta makes a quick-as-possible trip over to the house to go grab Piggo for the upcoming battle. On the way, he spots the ruined couch that originated from a gaping hole in the house's former doorway. Irongutta lets out a noise that can be described as a frustrated sigh. "Bloody... zog it all! I was sleepin' on that!!!" When he was done cursing the powers that be, he trudged the rest of the way to Piggo's pen. Greeting his pig with a gentle hand and a pat on the head, he opened the pen to let him out. "Alright Piggo, we got somethin' important comin' up and need all hands - er, hooves? - on deck! Let's get a move on before[color=#008000] gorilla [color=#008000]really hits the fan!"

With Piggo in tow, he quickly arrives at the scene for the battle. Their actions will be as follows:

Irongutta will act at Marron, but asks that she end her movement on any tile that's within Range 1-3 of N12. After her turn, Irongutta spawns at M11 and moves to N12. He then uses a self-casting Fury, targeting Marron and himself for the buff. As a note, Irongutta will attempt to do this action after Marron spawns in and moves, but before her action. If this isn't allowed, just ignore this.

Piggo spawns in at M11, moves to Q12 and guards.

Arisa switches Whirling Blades for Nothing Ventured, sets her Elemental Scope's resistance to-- Crushing. Don't want to concentrate all my resistances into Piercing at this point.

Finally, she jumps onto the elevator and gets ready to fight, spawning in at N19 and setting her scope to Electric. Then she jumps up to Q17 and uses Nothing Ventured, taunting the Gaiawall, and (if I got this right) drops to Q19 due to gravity?

Hex rerespecs, and takes a point a from MOV, slaps it back into INT, and 3 points from AGI (lowering it by one, if tazz is right or something), and invests into MOV. I AM WIND NOW. FEAR ME CHAIR M- oh wow edge it hurts. He then swaps his hat for the Salt Crab Skull.

Hex joins the Ascent battle, spawning in at P19, and self casts Fury.

Brutishace hastily rushes to the battle at Scale Yggdrasil. He doesn't want to let his teammates down! Before he does, though, he crafts six more instances of Soulblossom Tea.

Brutishace spawns in at K9, moves to J12, and steels himself. He hopes to make himself a valuable part of his team's defensive firing line...

uA: He accepted the credits, so he might just know about it.

Auth laughs quietly. At Mari's question, Auth pauses, and taps his fingers in an attempt to check how much Chaos got cheated out of...

uA: Well, we paid 80 credits to let you out, so we cheated Chaos out of one million, nine thousand and twenty credits. Give or take. So, y'know, only a real small amount.

Auth grins, thinking quietly again to describe what's up to Mari...

uA: Well, um. I personally haven't done much since we left the Mindscape until now. We're here to destroy WARE in the Sphere and save the universe. I think you knew that already though.

Auth is mentally sorting things to tell Mari if the pause is anything to go by.

uA: We've been through the Grand Library already and collected a Glyph. The Twitchy Glyph. We're about to raid a Legion Base for the second Glyph. We... uh, we found a bunch of allies, which I'm sure you'll meet. I suppose that's all I can think of. It may be easier if you ask any specific questions you have so I can answer them easier...

Auth then turns back to EN.

uA: I made that just before we left the Mindscape, Mama. Marron used it to deliver the killing blow to the Chaos Butterfly, so that's why it looks like it's busted all to hell. I'm actually kind of glad that you fixed it up and removed most of the burning stuff... less dangerous to Chairians.

Auth nods quietly, checking that the story lines up in his head properly.

---

Auth collapses almost immediately after being assaulted by Chloe. His "body" loses all features, leaving it as a solid Shadow. Auth walks on field from nearby, and delivers a solid kick to the Specter that's been floored, not doing anything to it at all. He seems just slightly frustrated, before stepping back and taking a breath.

uA: It's fine, Chloe. I understand why, but it doesn't exactly stop it being frustrating, yeah? Don't worry about it. I'm fine. It's fine.

+2 STR

Ziah spawns in at M11 and casts Focus Energy on himself. There's... not much else I can do, I don't think. This may just be the shortest post I've ever made, and that's saying something.

==DUELPOST!==
Nezira sighs. She's been dragged down into the enemy team, flanked by two enemies so she can't escape, and to top it all off, she's so incredibly angry at one of the flankers that she absolutely has to attack them in some way.

...Thankfully she has a trick up her sleeve. Or, more accurately, in her bag.

She moves to G10 and scans Packo with a Quick Scan, applying Attack Analysis and dealing (4-4) Psychic damage with Observer Eye. Taunt: satisfied.

With that, she turns to Irongutta with a glint in her eye.

"Preemptive sorry, 'Gutta! But as for what is about to happen next... Waaagh!"

She pulls out the Hammerspace Sack, plunges a hand in, and withdraws a Psychic-element El'ite Throwing Knife, tossing it directly at him.

Then... she activates Transcendent Analysis!

A shimmer of knowledge magic passes over her form, and when it's dissipated, she's left in a very Chloe-like battle stance, holding an ethereal copy of Chloe's Attuned Gladius -- which she promptly attacks Irongutta with in nearly an exact replica of Chloe's attack on the Author!

(Transcendent Analysis, copying Chloe's basic attack!)

With all that done, she retreats to F9.

<ROUND ONE-HUNDRED AND THIRTY-TWO>

"Balance" Patch v1.2.1: "Erratic Errata", is out now! It's a pretty minor patch, but includes some clarifications, rulings, and a rework for Shopping Spree!

Lusiarre joins the game! Welcome! Hopefully, you enjoy your stay in Project Thymium! Oh, as a quick note; you're looking a little bit on the squishy side. It might may to move a few points to MHP, DEF, or SHP; aside from some DGE, you really don't have much in the way of defenses! Just something to note, though.

Nezira does some crafting! Gotta do those consumables now since you're open, right? Anyway, 20 Gaiaroot Potatoes, 5 Ygcrawler Meat, 5 Hotpoints, and 5 Aurora Crystals are thrown together to make some Aurora-Baked Potatoes! This ends up baiting over a Chloe.

CHLOE: Ah, that smells excellent, Nez!
CHLOE: Ooh! You should help with dinner tonight! Marron could probably use another capable hand in the kitchen!
CHLOE: ...She thinks I'm... less than stellar as a chef. And I'm not really great, but... it still hurt.
CHLOE: Anyway, you should give it a try! You'll do great, I promise!

Nezira then prepares 15 Hotpoints, 5 Psychoid Leaves, 5 Frostleaves, and 10 Wheat to create some Spice Potions! It's apparently pretty potent, but the Psychoid may cause a bit of loopiness! Or a slight high. One of the two.

Venia responds to Chloe and Omorika. Well, not really in the way they'd expect. After fantasizing about Nia for a moment, she suddenly shoots into action, swatting away Chloe's question, slaying it. They have to go.

CHLOE: H-Hey, you better not be running off like Nia did!

Venia quickly explains herself. Nia is at Yggdrasil. They may fight her again.

CHLOE: F-Fight? Nia!?
CHLOE: T-There's no way w-we're doing that again, right?
CHLOE: W-We've gotten stronger since last time, a-and what if we really hurt her?
CHLOE: W-What if the Butterfly really hurts her?

Chloe begins to hyperventilate. She's been hit with plenty of emotional trauma today, hasn't she? Omorika quickly moves to Chloe's side, giving her a bit of support.

OMORIKA: Miss Elem! Now is not the time to loose hold of yourself.
OMORIKA: I have full faith in our party's ability to not maim miss Khioneas.
OMORIKA: Perhaps, as Miss Praefortis has suggested before, we may be able to free her of the Butterfly!
OMORIKA: Have faith, Chloe.
CHLOE: I-I do, b-but... I-I'm scared.
OMORIKA: ...That is natural.
OMORIKA: But I believe in your ability to overcome it.
CHLOE: A-Alright...

As suggested by Venia, Chloe follows along to the Elevator. Omo accompanies them to Yggdrasil, before establishing a defensive foothold at its base.

Calibri asks Chloe what they should do right now. Chloe shrugs.

CHLOE: Well, I was thinking that... maybe we should prepare for combat?
CHLOE: It's been kinda chill just resting here at Magic Club, but I don't think we can delay for much longer. It's been fun, though!

Back at the house, Verdana decides to check up on Gibbit. It seems to be fine. and nods at the prospect of leaving the house. Of course, there's still the question of "how will you make it Gibbet doesn't fly away", but maybe you could prepare a bird collar & leash, or something? Might not be pleasant if it wants to fly around, though.

Then, as the Legion approaches Yggdrasil, EN and Mari share a few words. Cauldrons, sledgehammers, and trees.

MARI: Actually, I think that's been scientifically proven to be impossible... for a normal human.
MARI: You'd probably be able to do it; I'd assume your strength to weight ratio is suitable for the climb?
MARI: ...If you actually do it though, I'll give you like...

Mari pauses. Then shrugs.

MARI: ...I do not have any bargaining tokens to make you do dumb gorilla with.
MARI: So, uh... I'll give you my respect, or something. Yeah.

At the Everground, the Engie Drone plummets into the hole, then shoves Hex left a screen! More on that later, though! For now, he's left to move some "weaklings", as he calls them! He spooks the Seekers away for a brief moment, before creating some Force Glyphs to block the Seekers! Hex meanwhile, finds himself elsewhere. Inches from a cliff, from a sheer drop that'd probably kill him. Interestingly enough, there's some visible moss growing from near it. Take a sample, perhaps? Or explore. Your call.

Destiny places an order with Marron, for something called the Watcher's Rags. She accepts.

MARRON: ...Rags?
MARRON: Apparently, goddesses think that rags are socially acceptable.
MARRON: Sure. I'll make you your rags, goddess.

She snickers to herself, but still takes the presumably 40 Credits as it's probably a personal piece. Destiny then makes her own item, taping together her MLG Pro Charm, 3 Iron Ingots, 1 Cyan Diamond, 1 Glass (10 Crafting Credits), and 1 Eterna Flower.

Emerald rotates his veilements to Ice and Earth! That's a word, shut up. Probably a good play- don't want to get dunked on by those anti-armor Ice mages, right?

Irongutta bestows knowledge onto Nia. Namely, the location of the airship! Nia seems pretty genuinely excited!

NIA: When the airship's done, you gotta let me take iot for a test drive!
NIA: I actually haven't ever been on a plane... and I think a really cool first time in the air would involve flying one!
NIA: Or, uh, an airship. Close enough!
NIA: Point is; you, me, airship, joyride. It'll be great! Even if we crash and burn!

He then brings up the parts that survived R4's fight; an autocannon, a bomb bay, and the Stratoshield. Nia nods.

NIA: Y'know, given how annoying that shield thing was, I thought we'd have destroyed it several times over.
NIA: But hey, maybe WE can be the annoying ones now!
NIA: Dumpster diiiiveee~

The two of them begin searching through the semi-blazing wreckage of R4-Sat0skr! Irongutta manages to find what appears to be a somewhat charred, but otherwise alright shield generator- the Stratoshield! Nia meanwhile, cries out from the wreckage.

NIA: Heeeey, I found both the autocannon and the bomb bay!
NIA: Just give me a second to-

There's an explosion. Nia shrieks, but when she does eventually talk, she sounds perfectly fine, if a little shaken.

NIA: ...Nevermind!

Nia returns with nothing much but light burns, 5 Durasteel, 2 Plasteel, and 4 Joltwire. She did however, find a High-Powered Cooler used for the Autocannon!

NIA: Damn, you found the whole Stratoshield?
NIA: Ooh, we should put that on the airship! Definitely!
NIA: I can see that making a good piece of whatever, though...

Unique items are always nice. But what to do with it...?

Arisa rotates Whirling Blades for Nothing Ventured, then equips a Crushing resistance. Neat!

Hex does a rerespec. +1 INT, +1 MOV, -3 AGI. He also equips the Salt Crab Skull, which is an interesting choice as he might be surpassed for the highest DGE should someone invest into DGE heavily. dangerous game there https://cdn.discordapp.com/emojis/269971640362729482.png?v=1

Brutishace crafts... two whole instances of Soulblossom Tea. Seriously, the dude has an addiction. It also seems like it's going to get harder to craft until he breaks his addiction to this specific brand of tea. Anyway, this eats 10 Soulblossoms and 2 Uniform Logs.

Auth and Mari chat a bit. Apparently, Chaos was cheated out of one million, nine thousand and twenty credits. Mari breaks out into full on laughter.

MARI: Haha, YES! HIGHWAY ROBBERY!
MARI: Feels good, man. Even though I didn't do it.

She calms down after a little, and listens as Auth notes what's currently going on. They're here to destroy WARE and the Sphere to save the universe, they've raided a library, looted a glyph, and the like. He notes something about allies which she'll probably meet.

MARI: Oh, the real version of that wooden chick that got de-legged is here, right?
MARI: Her name was Stella, right?
MARI: So, have you sweet-talked her yet?

Mari snickers at Auth.

MARI: So, yeah. Few questions, since you're offering to answer...
MARI: One: Glyphs. What do they do?
MARI: Two: Chairians. Woodpeople. Whatever you wanna call them. Do we care if they get maimed or not? Because it looks like you're gearing up to turn them to cinders with that beautiful friggin' railcannon!
MARI: Three: EN's your mom? Always nice to see parental bonding. Who's the father, anyway?
MARI: Four: Where can I find me some goddamn food?

MARI: ...Don't blame me; Pane never served me anything good.
MARI: As a result, my taste pallet is absolutely destroyed, and you could probably give me the worst cake to ever exist and I'd hail it as the second coming of food jebus.

She sits there, idly playing with her hair while awaiting an answer,

Ziah +2's his STR.

SIMPLE AND CLEAN IS THE WAY THAT YOU'RE MAKING ME FEEL, TONIGHHTTTTTHTHHTTHHHT

<SCALE YGGDRASIl, ROUND TWO>
Some rebels have appeared on the field. It's not ideal that some of them are flanking the tree, but some of them appear to be making themselves useful and have appeared behind enemy lines. Anyway, get ready- you're within firing range of the Chairian Legion now, and you're gonna need some frontliners to ensure you don't get overwhelmed right away!

<THE ELEVATOR, ROUND TWO>
You've started your ascent! Beware the rising of the platform; getting left behind is probably really bad! Anyway, if you're concerned about the state of the cable, Mari should be able to handle its repairs- passive drone repairs should be quite handy! Just keep fending off the incoming legion; if you let foes accumulate, you'll get overrun and die! Not that you'll let them accumulate, though!

Meanwhile, Nia and Chloe meet up again.

CHLOE: N-Nia! You're alright!
CHLOE: V-Venia and I were really worried about you!
CHLOE: You're okay, right? Please tell me you're okay!
NIA: I'm fine... b-but it really feels like something's rooting around in my head...
NIA: I-I don't know if I can do a-anything a-about it...

CHLOE: W-Well, I know you can hang in there, alright?
CHLOE: I'll get you some ice cream afterwards, a-and then maybe Venia and I can go and see the thing in your head-
NIA: N-NO!
NIA: DON'T YOU DARE!

CHLOE: I-I'm sorry! I-I shouldn't h-have...

Chloe trails off, her words caught by a swelling feeling of dread in her throat. Nia huffs and turns away from Chloe... before setting her sights skyward.

<DUEL: VS MARRON 2.0, ROUND THREE>
It's not great. Apparently, Marron's raw attack power with Spite and Empowered was enough to let her mostly ignore Irongutta's attempted evasion (a glance) and his piercing resistance, which allowed Nezira to follow up with a flurry of a shop item and Chloe's sword via her special. You'll probably need to do something moderately crazy to take this now...

Toast moves to B9 with boosters. She points two-fingers at the ground, palm up, then sharply raises them.
"Sorry girls, you're gonna have to find another way around."
As she does so, five bright green glyphs are drawn in the ground between the two parties, at C8, B8, B7, C7, and D7. After a brief pause, they rise, forming series of hexagonal patterns- tough as steel.
"In the meantime: this one's for Irongutta!"
She produces a brightly glowing card between her fingers. Then, with a slight flourish, she launches the card at Marron. Regardless of whether it hits or not, she then takes the boosters back to C13.

Irongutta also gets downed. But at this point into battle, Packo is way too mad to care.

First, he moves to E9, carefully moving around the walls to avoid her ZoC. Then, he looks at her, as he pulls bread out of his plushie and slowly starts chewing on it, curing all of his debuffs. It looks pretty creepy in restrospective. Packo Plushie used!

Then, he whacks her one last time.

"I really do not appreciate what you did." Admittedly, he is trying to sound scary, but the bread has really really made his voice much softer than he would have liked to.

If Packo's initial hit on Nezira fails or glances, he then sends Boop to damage and Taunt her.

Regardless of if the attack downs her or not, Packo then turns around, and looks towards Marron and Chloe, trapped behind hexagonal walls. He then looks to Toast, who seems to be throwing stuff at her...

In any other situation, Packo would have probably tried to stop her, but instead, he sends Beep towards Marron.

"I didn't want to do this... But on the good side, Toast won't have to hit you again..." He says, as the small artificial creature hovers around her. The bot starts pestering her.

HEYHEYHEY

NOTTOBERACISTORANYTHING

BUTCHAIRIANPEOPLEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Beep produces a damaging scream!

CONDITIONALS:

If Marron gets downed by the damaging scream, Packo Warp Steps back to E12, behind cover.

If Marron doesn't get downed by the damaging scream because Toast's attack missed, he still Warp Steps back to E12, however, Beep makes sure to tell her something else before teleporting.

BYTHEWAYCHLOETOTALLYLOOKSBETTERTHANYOUHAHAHAHA

Seems Beep really really wants to attract her attention and Taunt her.

Packo doesn't say anything during these actions. Instead, he seems to still be nibbling on some bread...

Destiny chuckles a bit at Marron's comment about her armor.
Ah, well, they saw better days, then I fought the Beholder who ripped the once cloak into tatters. For some reason that actually made it more effective armor. I don't exactly know how that works, fanservice effectiveness? Coolness factor? Being too lazy to repair it so SBURB gives you compensation?
At the very least I know it was a better option than repairing it to its former state, the Watcher's Cloak. Some coverage can be sacrificed for power

----------
At the Elevator, after Mari acts, Destiny waves goodbye to the Devout.
...no reason to kill you. No one to help here, my friend. I'll take my leave, and give you mercy.
Instead, she rushes up to D13 and stabs Devout 2.
-----------
Crya decides to chat up Lutea.
Oh, hi, these plants look really nice!
...honestly I'm pretty bored right now, after showing off my ice magic I'm not sure what to do. My friend went off to the big tree over there and so did essentially everyone else. Miss Toast and Marron went off to fight somewhere...
So, uh, what are you doing here, what happened to all the grass?

--------------------
You are already dead.

The Defense
Also if it's not to late, set the Railgunner to AP4?

The Railgunner points at a hapless support unit that just happens to be in its range. The Blizzard Robe thought with his HP and SHP that he could survive atleast a single shot from anything. It's too bad it's raining isn't it? The Blizzard Robe simply goes down from a shot by the Railgunner

I summon a Pioneer up on F11.
Settings:
Attack: Eletric
Resist: Earth/Fire
Weak: Crushing/Slashing

The Pioneer is the enabler... The enabler of what? Well obviously he's an enabler for the Railgunner, but I wonder if you know how he enables the Railgunner. It's not like the Railgunner needs to move...

Also I my current MP is 38/51 has this round starts.
Railgunner's basic attack is a reloader too.

RP: The Elevator

Venia knows what's up with Nia's tone shifts, and sighs. She contemplates telling Nia about the almost-certainly-incoming possession immediately, but decides the Butterfly will probably prevent Nia from hearing or something, and she asked about the hat first, anyways. Venia exploits the nature of turn-based RPG combat to casually explain the whole process as if they weren't in a pitched battle-because to Venia, the battle wasn't quite so pitched at all, compared to the mental flurry she's undergoing.

"Well, the hat is simple. I'll just-"

Venia's words are taken out of her mouth as the hat instantaneously exits her grip, the cap now slid under Hat without having to move them. Venia briefly looks up at the more obvious of her two pieces of headgear, and Hat looks down in kind.

"... OK, its on. Now all I need to do is..."

Venia quickly switches a few bits of information on the attached pad. The cap's surface lights up in a green bar, and quite suddenly, a strand of Venia's hair turns a vivid green itself, from root to tip.

"... And, bam. Probably one of the few machines that worked here-was testing out quite a few in Mr. Krabs the first I arrived. Point is, this thing... It doesn't just dye hair, it basically does some very low-key reality warping to permanently change how your hair is colored and such. There's quite a few 'beauty products' like this from, uh, when I'm from. This is probably, uh... Maybe like, a fancy house, in terms of value? Kind of a high-end variant here. I can demonstrate how crazy it can get."

Venia flicks a few more switches, and the cap's green bar switches to a quick bevy of colors as the affected strand of hair changes from green to orange, then to purple, and then turns into a slowly-shifting rainbow, and then changes another strand right next to this strand to sparkle like a night sky, except close to the bottom, where dawn's early light is simulated on her hair-downright glowing. In short, basically what Terraria hair dye can do, and probably crazier.

"... Yep, pretty nuts. Oh, and, if you cut it..."

Venia taps her fingers together, creating a very thin string of magic, which she then uses to cut the two dyed strands of hair. The hair falls down to the floor, still operating as before. Then, she taps the machine again-the hair, from underneath the cap, regrows, both strands still thoroughly subverting nature in their impossible changing colors as they reach their original size in the span of a second.

"... Yep, it grows back colored. There's a few other features but I never used anything other than the one that keeps it clean and the dyeing feature... I'll admit, I used to use this thing all the time, though. Uh, until people started to really get on my case for how distracting it was, or how I looked like a freak... Even when the colors were about as inoffensive as brown. Black hair like everyone else or get out, apparently..."

Venia sighs, before undoing most of the changes back to her original black hair, but the first lock of hair then remains dyed a specific shade of cyan, smoothly transitioning from its presumably natural black at the root to Nia's favorite color at the bottom. The cap vanishes back into Venia's grip.

"... But, I guess nobody cares about any of that here. Was thinking you might like it... I have spares anyways." Venia says. "Thyme field might do some fritzy stuff, though, I'd have to check on it if you'd use it. Uh, if you'd want to use it, like, after-"

Venia is cut off by Chloe. Well, not quite from her perpsective-Venia just cuts herself off to let Chloe speak... Which proves to be a mistake. Venia's heart skips a beat.

"NIA! We get it! We will never, never ever do that ever again! I'm so sorry! But... But that, that sensation, that isn't good! That is very, very likely to be something Chaos-related. That's probably the lead-up to a possession!" Venia shouts, realizing that this probably wasn't a smart thing to just babble only after she's said it. "... I'm so sorry! But don't worry-we're prepared! We got through this before and we've grown very strong since the last time, we can stop it again!"

"I understand that this allgorillaing sucks, OK? But we can't do anything about it right now! We can deal with everything else when we get to the top, OK? Just try to keep calm and don't run off ahead of us, it's dangerous!" Venia says.

"... Perhaps, perhaps I could-no no no, not without the Psyche Shard... Or maybe I could? But she doesn't want me messing with her head. Or just... Hates me. Period. And why wouldn't she? I've met her for a day and all I've done for her is make her feel miserable... But I can't leave her either way. Stupid parasite! Why can't it just go away?!"

RP: Cypress

Meanwhile, Venia somehow appears in the Garden Altar, and uses the Phone that Cypress modified for her earlier in the day to make a call to the man.

"Hello? Is Cypress there?" Venia asks, realizing there's a real possibility Cypress won't answer the phone, or the call is being spied upon. She quickly decides not to reveal her name and trust Cypress will recognize her voice.

"I'm just calling in to report the Outsiders have slain the Yaga and have destroyed R4-Sat0skr. The Yaga had apparently been using an illusory lure disguised as a child to lure in Chairians to their demise. I'm also happy to report that an undocumented Eliti, named Maxim, has also been slain-this one is responsible for the Larix incident early today, and had been manipulating dead corpses to perform surprise attacks on Chairians."

"... In any case, Cypress. How is Acacia doing?"

Battle: The Elevator

So there's an order of operations for a certain impractical trick.
Order of operations for this:
-Nia uses Phase Shift on G19 to switch out the Fighters Corpse for herself, then waits
-Chloe moves to G18, Watcher falls down a tile, then waits
-Mountain Goat leaps to H16, somehow doesn't crush the Watcher instantly, waits
-Boshi leaps to G17, waits
-Mari moves to L17, downs a Soulblossom Tea, and fires Nanoswarm with the Megu Patch ability at F18. Assuming no dodges, this should down both Lancers on the spot and qualify Mari for Everything Descends/Everything Amends.
-Destiny doesn't move until after this is all done, whatever she does.
-everyone else can then act to maul the Watcher and any particularly lucky Lancers, earning Mari The Swarm Hungers as well.

Bam. A tad bit excessive but it's still great value.

Venia, not critical to any of this, tosses a plain old Cinderfruit at the Blizzrobe, then swings her key at the icy magus. "As cool as that was, it won't save you from going out cold right now!" Venia shouts. Her hat pings Archer3-another Cinderfruit or the like would certainly spell their demise.

I highly recommend anyone going after Venia to toss a single Cinderfruit at the third Archer or similar to down them too, if they're not already.

Venia stands her ground afterwards.

<DUELDOP>
Another day, another dueling update! Woohoo!

<DUEL: VS MARRON 2.0, ROUND FOUR>
Marron and Chloe have taken up a defensive position, abusing the Force Glyphs to make some distance! However, this might not be to their advantage; who knows? Take note that Ette's been unrooted, but she's out of MP. Anyway, this should be interesting, if low-aggression...

In the duel, Toast meditates. Though, she's sure to share a few thoughts of her own, first.
"Yeah, right! C'mere and say that!"

~~

In tree defense, Toast uses ber trait to cast Nezira's Incantation at M14, moving if she needs to. Then, she retreats back to L11.

Fluxblade Scrolls (and some talk about relationships in-between)

Venia Praefortis walks along, ever busy, fiddling with a gray cap connected by wire to a small screen, a few other hovering holographic screens, her line phone, and several other things, as she mutters to herself, walking in Yggdrasil’s Crossing. ”...Mm, no… Ugh. I need help…”

Meanwhile, the sorceress with relationship problems is looking for duel partners. Having exhausted most of her original choices, she begins turning to those she was less familiar with. One such person is Venia Praefortis, and as such, Toast walks into Yggdrasil Crossing and right up to Venia.

"So, uh, Venia..." she starts, not really sure how to ask the question, as Venia turns to listen, "...how's it going?"
”... I can’t quite describe how its going. I feel like a sack of gorilla, but at the same time I… I’m quite charged. Best I can say is as busy as it can get. Uh, do you need anything?”
"Well, uh, 'negotiations' didn't really go as I planned with Marron."
”...Negotiations?” Venia says, confused.
"I tried to apologise about the whole 'friendly fire then running away' incident, and… well, now we're duelling. Sorry about that, by the way."
”It’s… I’m not exactly happy about what occurred, so I can’t really duel with you in full faith… But I accept your apology,” Venia says, nodding affirmatively. ”...Toast? I… I say I feel charged but at the same time I feel exhausted. Uh, I know you’re also busy, but I could use your help here real fast if you’ve got a few minutes to spare.”
"Er, sure, she responds, a little surprised, "I'm pretty certain people will still be around to get recruited, and giving Marron some time to cool down a bit might be a good thing. Or, uh, in shorter terms, 'what do you need?'"

Venia responds by causing the ground between Toast and her to shimmer. A rather fanciful version of the Workstation Prime appears, with several papers and a few red gemstones laying on top. Two rather fanciful chairs on opposite ends also appear, seeming more fit for fireside reading than busywork.

”It’s… Rather complicated, but basically… Err. I’m not the only one who’s having a bit of fallout from my actions. Uh, long and short of it is, operation ‘read Nia’s mind’ did not go to plan,” Venia says. ”... And given how Nia’s possessions are stress-triggered? Let’s just say I’m trying to ready emergency precautions. And that’s not getting into the Husk-heard it got all in your faces at Magic club. Last sighted at Scale Yggdrasil. Where we’re headed next… To keep it simple, all I need is for a bit of magical help to imbue these scrolls with the Fluxblade spell, so people who don’t have it can cast it on the fly. Is that, is that alright to you?”

When Venia mentions 'magical help', Toast's previously-weary eyes light up a little.

"I can help," she states definitively, "I don't have much experience with Flux or Entropy, since I only encountered it last year in the mindscape, but given how pervasive it's been since we got here, it should be easy enough to work out." She points at the crystals on the workstation. "Are these them? The, uh 'entropy things'?"
”Entrophies,” Venia says. ”And, thank you, seriously. I’m more experienced on the matter with the substance, it's mostly just the issue of printing them to the scroll I’m having difficulty with… Sit down, please,” Venia says, taking a seat herself, followed by Toast opposite. From the seated position, Toast sees Venia’s setup rather clearly; a few piles of magically-reactive paper and a single jar of ink, a crystal pen laying within. Several of the papers have red ink marks on them, scribbles of incantations abruptly transforming into <0>’s midway through writing, though most of the ones that didn’t get cut off immediately already veer quite off the mark for a proper scroll to begin with.

”Simple process, in theory. I transfer the energy from the Entrophies into this spellpaper here as a substitute for ‘natural’ magical energy, unlike with other elemental sources, but otherwise its just a standard transcription, I believe. Of course, Flux is… Well, you can see,” Venia says, gesturing to the failed papers. ”Not sure where I’m going wrong here.”
"It is kind of a mess…"
”I know, I’m not sure if I’m making mistakes or I just need to strengthen the magical binding so the Flux doesn’t make butterflies, which is why I’m asking for help.”
"Right, well you came to the right girl. I have a few theories on what could be the cause of all the butterflies, but the most general solution I can think of is creating a ward against the entropic effects after the entropy has been applied. The best way I can describe it would be as putting the 'entropy' in stasis, or dormancy, without removing it outright. While I haven't done anything like this specifically, I've done it for things that are less… 'entropy'."
”Ahh, uh, yes, hrm, I actually haven’t thought of that. Or, uh, well, I did, just not immediately after. I’ve done something like that before, so this shouldn’t be too complicated...”

Venia mutters a few words of magic and grips the pen. One of the Entrophies glows a bit more intensely than before as Venia’s hand moves across the paper, a small bubble of frozen time appearing as the red ink stains the paper.

”... Uh, Toast, so, I have, uh. Other questions,” Venia says.

Toast gives a quizzical look. "Well, if I do say so myself, I'm pretty good at magic. So if there's something else you wanted to know-"
”How did, uh, how did, Marron…” Venia starts, and pauses awkwardly. ”... Like. She’s rather abrasive, isn’t she? How… How did you know? I. Uh. I know that’s rather abrupt, but. I heard Destiny say something about you being lovers?... Didn’t sound like she was tossing around a rumor, either,” Venia finishes, blushing like the sun.

Toast opens her mouth to speak a few times, vaguely resembling a fish in doing so. "That's, um…" she pauses for a moment to think, before settling on something to say, "I guess 'the secret's out.' ...Not that we were really doing a good job of hiding it. Though, with all that's happened... But, uh, your question. 'How did I know?' Like, how did I know I liked her that way or…?"
”... Yes,” Venia says, somehow still keeping to some relatively stable handwriting. ”... I, uh. I… Mph, uh, I’m sorry, I kind of just spoke without thinking about what was happening… Uh, yes. T-t-t-thhh… That way,” she sputters. ”... Is that too personal? I’m so sorry it was too personal wasn’t it.”
"Oh nononono! A-actually… I kinda like talking about this stuff. I-If I was a normal girl, th-then maybe I'd be doing it more often…" she says, trailing off.

Normal. That word. That impossible ideal that everyone but you had. A time-travelling nephilim duchess and magitechnician with metaphysical cancer talking with a time-travelling human(?) amnesiac sorceress with two prosthetic arms from a lost planet, and the idea of normal comes up. Venia’s expression instantly goes wistful. Normal, what life would be like if she was normal?

”... Well, uh, I guess that just makes it less awkward?”

Toast smiles, now a bit more comfortable with her new company, "Y-Yeah, I guess it does a bit. But, um, the question. Which I still haven't answered." Despite recently saying she didn't feel awkward talking about it, she's still hesitant in articulating herself. "I-It's a feeling, I think. I'm not sure if you'd, uh, feel it differently, but for me it's like... a warmth; one that I only feel around her."
”A warmth.”
"Y-Yeah. Like… when I walk past her, or when our eyes meet, I feel it. When I'm with her, or when I hold hands with her, it burns brighter, and…" she catches herself, slowing her tempo a little, "...And it makes me feel like I could stay there with her forever."
”Forever…” Venia says, pressing her free hand to her temple, and contemplating. Or, appearing to contemplate.

”Venia by all that is holy you are not allowed to mention that sensation in your crotch, by all that is left of justice and goodness in this twisted reality you will not make this eighty times more awkward by bringing out that factoid when describing what you feel. Do not, do not, do not.”

”... So, it’d feel like you get, uh. Hot? Like, like you’re in a bed? Or, like, even a sauna? That kind of warmth?”
"I… don't know what a sauna is, but a bed sounds fitting, I think. That's what it 'feels like', I-I think."
”... Even now?” Venia asks. ”Even with-wait.”

Venia pauses to look down at her writing. The stasis ‘bubble’ is gone from her initial text, which has morphed into a slightly morbid picture of the Butterfly impaling multiple stick figures with little crimson lines.
”...”
"..."
”...Well then. Hrm. Uh, that’s… Yeah. I think we’re gonna need a stronger stasis spell. Uh… Wait, no, maybe just a purely magical one? Entropy is, uh, by logic it's the degradation of energy over time, loosely phrased. ‘Time’ being a keyword. Perhaps a more… Magical type of stasis would do better, in your opinion?”
Toast ponders this for a while, "I know a few ways we could put it in another stasis, but not many of them would be safe for me. However, I've already got a better process in mind."
”Oh? What were you thinking?”
"The writing is imbued with entropic energy, so if I use my magical language to suspend 'entropic' quality from it temporarily, then we should more or less be able to write freely, without, uh…" Toast gestures at the stick figures.
”... Huh. Didn’t think that was possible with just magic alone,” Venia says, putting the morbid image on the stack of failures before pulling out a new piece of paper. ”Let’s try that out. When you’re ready… Err. Do you need to use it on the pen as its writing or on the Entrophy?”
Toast thinks about this. "The pen, I would think and perhaps the ink too. Though first, I just need to find the right word…"
”The ink’s created by the pen, its just red because of the Entrophy, so I guess you just need the pen, then,” Venia says, handing it over to Toast. ”Be careful not to get the red ink on you, uh, it stings. Also it might slowly, uh, well, warp whatever it touches. Maybe. That may only happen if its directly ingested, but I’d be safe.”
Toast, who was previously grabbing for the pen by the feed, stops and grabs it from the back. "That's uh… I'll… be careful. Now… the word."

With her free hand, Toast takes out a worn-looking spiral binder notebook, no larger than the size of her palm. She flips through it with a thumb, before reaching a blank page. Then, she closes her eyes, and starts scribbling on the page at random with the pen. Venia watches on, intrigued. "I don't know the word for 'entropy', but if my theory is correct, the link that this book has with my magical language combined with the randomness of my scribbling and the entropic nature of Flux…"

She suddenly stops, and blows on the paper to dry it a little. Despite having been scribbling on it for a minute or so, only a very small part of the paper is covered in red ink. A single word: Perdit.

”Perdit… Perditio… Can’t be a coincidence. But that just makes it beyond doubting, then, wouldn’t it?”
"It's not the first time I've seen similarities like this. ...I'm really not sure how to explain it. But, uh, now that my book has Flux on it, it's probably a good chance to test it out." She points a crystalline finger at the paper, and mutters a few words. "Perdit Malta Illaye'os Perdit," she incants, red ink on the page dulling to black.

"Right, uh. Perdit Cato Vari Illaye'os Perdit. Do you want to write again- I don't really know the spell, so…" She offers the pen to Venia, who takes it and begins again.
”Thank you, Toast… Oh, right, uh, the question. Do you still get that feeling around Marron, like, even now?” Venia says.
"Well, uh…" Toast thinks about this for a moment, "...Yes. Even if I nearly killed her, and if she 'nearly' threatened to kill me back… I still feel this way."
”... Right. I… That’s really something else… I just, uh, hope, it goes well. I… I think I’ve felt like this once. I just… I just needed to be sure. Absolutely, positively sure, because…” Venia says, trailing off, flapping her gums soundlessly.
"Wait, um. Is this about… someone here-"
”Nia.” Venia says, her attention instantly and utterly grasped by that statement. Toast is somewhat taken aback by her frankness. ”... I’m absolutely going crazy over this, Toast. I don’t get it. Like… I had a report of what happened in the Mindscape, nothing invasive but I knew you at least, like, knew each other a bit for some time before now. But, like. I knew Nia, actually knew her, for a day, tops. And that’s… That’s like. That’s like real love at first sight bananas right there. I don’t believe in that stuff, I never had. Even my only other crush ever took a while to warm on me but Nia, Nia… I don’t know what to say or think now, I think I may’ve been feeling this way since the start and the whole Chaos Butterfly thing has been making me oblivious and I don’t know what to think about it all, and now she’s on the verge of a possession if not basically already possessed and I feel incredibly guilty…

Venia pauses, and resumes writing. ”... I went a bit nutso over that, didn’t I. Uh, gorilla. S-sorry.”

Toast is stunned into silence for a moment. When she eventually does speak, she speaks softly, "Well… it sounds like you're really crazy about her, and from what I've seen… I'm sure she feels the same about you. Have you... told her how you feel?"
”... I didn’t even realize I felt this way until I got so stressed out about everything I started hallucinating.” Venia says. ”Call me queen oblivious, I guess… But like… Like…” Venia pauses again. ”... Pardon me, but, like, I’m a girl, and she’s a girl, and I never ever thought that I’d be like this for a girl, I know Nia can be, and you and Marron of course, but, like, I’ve never ever felt this way about any girl, or think these weird thoughts or get all weird in the c- THE CHEST! Weird. In the chest.”

”Nice save, queen oblivious. Real smooth.”

”Like, the point is, like. I’m just… I just don’t get why I feel so weird and gay all of a sudden. Or, uh, bisexual? Bisexual,” Venia says, now thoroughly red in the face. Her composure, as is becoming a standard for this day, is now totally obliterated in a thorough awkwardness bombing.

"That's, um. I'm not sure if I have an answer for that. I'd never really met people until the mindscape, so I don't exactly have much experience. But uh, for me, being "bisexual", as you called it… I guess I didn't really question it. If I like Marron then… well, I like Marron. For me, it seems… almost normal?"
”... Almost normal.”

Venia ponders this-and ponders to a few days gone by, of some less-than-open-minded friends. She may’ve talked of Ursa quite openly with Chloe and Omorika, but she had omitted quite a bit as well-mostly for sake of brevity.

Yes.

Brevity. From Venia Praefortis.

Believe it.

”... I, I mean. It doesn’t feel… Forced, or anything… I. I think I just have to think about this a while, now. But, thank you… I think you’ve cleared up a lot for me. Err, there’s one other thing you could do for me… We’ll be spending a bit of time writing the scrolls themselves, and such, and all, so we have several more minutes.”

Toast looks at Venia quizzically. "What do you need?"

”I need you to listen, because I’m about to dump a lot on you. Not ‘super hard every detail is important’ listen, but, like, listen, because… Because I need help, and because… Because everyone ought to know who I am and who they’re working with.”

"Okay."

And Venia talks-of how the Mighty have Fallen, which, to keep this post brief as it can, will likely be linked to directly rather than attempt a recap here. She talks of Ursa, and her experiences struggling under the mafia, and her powers, and her peers, and Maria, and her darkest sins, and the Duchy and the Emperor and her suicide. She talks, and writes, and holds back tears enough to keep constantly writing the scrolls. She’s at least in a more stable mood than before. By the time she’s done, she’s halfway through the final scroll.

”... That’s everything. Everything I have. T-Toast, I have… One last question. I… I feel like I know what to do-about Nia, about Sussui, about everything. If I’m not doing it… I mean. Others will, they’ll have to. And I have no… I have no delusions. I feel like I did, once-just, that, like, coming here and saving a universe or something would magically balance out all the times I should have been better… And maybe that’s part of why I took the Duchy in the first place, or why I decided to come personally and on my own. But, like… Do you really think I can… You know. Put all this behind me? Move on? Because… Even with all that I’m trying to do, I still feel like I can’t ever, ever do enough. And I hate that feeling… and I hate that feeling because, maybe just for a moment, Nia made me feel something different instead, and… And now I realize, to keep it short, that she’s feeling the same feeling that I am, and… And it hurts even worse. I can pull through, right?... She can pull through, right? Someday?”

Toast looks a bit overwhelmed by the barrage of information tossed at her. She thinks for a bit, taking some time to sort out what Venia had just told her. Eventually she comes to her senses and nods- at first in a concerned way, then starting in an affirmative manner. "Yeah, of course you can. Look, your past might not be the most dazzling display of pure righteousness, but if you feel regret for doing it, then I feel that you're a good person. So… if Nia makes you feel that way, and if she feels the same for you, then... you probably deserve each other."

Deserve. Her? Deserve? Only hours ago did Venia think what she deserved was a swift, decapitating kick to the head. She, deserving Nia?

Nia definitely deserves someone, though. However wretched. Something was better than nothing, and if Venia felt that way...

”... Thank you, Toast, sincerely. For both your words and, well, with the scrolls.”

Toast smiles, before pushing back her chair to stand up. "So, uh. If you ever need help again, whether it's related to magic or… well, feelings, I'll do my best to help."

Venia stands up too, taking the scrolls she’s created and holding them up to the light. ”Oh, thank you for offering. I’ll let you know if ever I’m in trouble, and… Uh, I suppose that you have a favor to call me up for? If nothing else, I’m sure I can provide after this is all over. Uh. Assuming we’re not dead, ehehe.”

Toast grins, before giving a wave to Venia and leaving the workstation, off to find other people for her team. Venia grabs her final creations, before carefully stuffing them in the inventory, and continuing along, walking along, her next destination-Yggdrasil-looming in the distance…

Auth smirks slightly as Mari breaks out into a laughing fit, at the massive amount of money that Chaos got cheated out of.

uA: Hah, yes. We did if for you, Mari, you have every right to feel good about it, y'know?

Auth watches Mari take notes about Our Journey So Far, and seems to have spaced out a little by the time Mari asks him about Omo. It takes Auth just a few seconds to figure out what Mari's referring to and an appropriate way to respond to that question.

uA: De-legged... ah, right, sorry, it took me a second to figure out who you were referring to. Yes, I've spoken to the real Omo. She's a member of our party now, which is good. Her name was Stella, yeah.

Auth conveniently ignored the last question of that cluster, involving Auth "sweet-talking" Omo. He's not that sort of person. Probably.

Instead, he decides to actually go and answer the rest of her questions.

uA: I'm probably not the best person to answer half of them, but... I'll do my best. First, the Glyphs. As far as I'm aware, the Glyphs act like keys to the Sphere. We need to collect them all to get in and destroy it. We can aslo use them as emergency items, the one we have now induces mass debuffs in a fight. I don't know if they all do that - we'll find out in a little while.

Auth kind of tenses at the question about seriously hurting Chairians...

uA: I mean... we would rather not brutally murder them if we can avoid it. Most of that damage is poison so I don't mind so much, but... we really don't want to hurt them that badly. I suppose, though, that I can deal with most of the wounds they acquire through the battle. We don't want that many people to get unrecoverably hurt.

Auth's halo shines a little at that. It's not at all trying to reinforce how Auth is a noble heart at all.

uA: Yes, EN is my mother. Hence Mama. There... technically isn't a father? He's been dead for, like... ten, eleven years or so, so. Mother married Mama some time ago, we've been happy. Things have been looking up. I... bet you can tell which parent I'm closer to.

At the final question, Auth puts up his hand in a "Stop, wait" motion, and rummages around in the inventory. Auth then, eventually, produces a Breakfast Sampler for her, and offers it to her.

uA: Given the cake Mama made earlier today... There were early Valentine's Celebrations and my birthday is Valentine's Day. So she made a birthday cake... Don't let her cook. You'll regret it, seriously.

Auth realises he's sidetracking himself, shakes his head and focuses again.

uA: Sorry, sidetracked, happens to easy. Here's some good food. Made this morning... I didn't do it, of course. Marron, Chloe and Ette did, I think? I would have made something myself but... I'm kind of strapped for time. Resources. Those sorts of important things...

----

Battle Action

Auth moves to N13 and self-casts Curaga.

[bold]Crafting Stuff[/bold]

Heart Gem

A small white heart-shaped gem that seems to be flowing with light energy.
Stats: (+3 HP Regen) (+3 MHP) Resists: Light (10%) (Replenish)

Replenish: Upon successfully countering, your next basic attack has Vampiric5.

Materials Used:
1 Crystal Pen
1 Glacier Crystal
2 Heart Fragments (Lifegems, although I'm not sure it matters if these are used in crafting.)
1 Plasteel Ingot
1 Searing Cluster
And finally, a lot of tea from all the stressing I was doing.

Meanwhile, at some undisclosed point in time, Wyvern descends down the stairs into the basement, heading for the workstation, having some idea of what he wanted to make. 'Take two Heart Fragments and attaching them together to create a full Heart Gem!' It sounds easier than it actually is, however, as you can't just put two items next to eachother on a grid or something to combine them. That just doesn't make sense.

Reaching the crafting station, he takes the two Heart Fragments from his pockets, and gently places them on the bench, aligning them in a way that satisfied him. Wyvern then rummages through the chests to find what he's looking for - taking out a Crystal Pen and a Glacier Cluster. Using the Crystal Pen, he carefully covers the broken ends of the Fragments in a layer of its ink, then holding the two tightly together. Hoping to use this as a sort of adhesive, Wyvern uses the Glacier Cluster swiftly afterwards to freeze the two fragments together.

This probably isn't enough though, so he takes a Plasteel Ingot and shapes it to create a heart-shaped casing, which is left slightly open. Wyvern then gently places the two heart fragments inside of the casing, and continues to shape it to better fit the gem. Once he's done with this, he uses a bit of cloth to hold a Searing Crystal and weld the the casing shut.

The two Fragments, fused together together thanks to the Frozen Ink, now also wrapped in the Plasteel Casing, together make an item that looks quite a bit like a heart, which he then equips.

[bold]Battle and Stuff[/bold]

Wyvern and Lusiarre are stopped short in their retreat home, as Wyvern notices the battle having broken out, and is naturally drawn to it. He looks down at Lusiarre, frowning slightly.

"I need to do something... b-but I can't leave you alone. Can you fight?"

Wyvern dashes to M10, making sure Lusiarre is safe behind him.

"Stay safe, alright? I'll be back..."

He seems slightly intimidated by the sheer number of enemies on the battle field. Wyvern scans the area before finding his prey. Two firebombers to his left. A pair of wings suddenly burst through the back of Wyvern's clothes, tearing them slightly as the rest of his body also begins to grow. In an unnatural burst of energy, he rushes off the ground and soars to U4, with a violent glint in his eyes, which now seem to be blazing with an amber colour. Wyvern bares his teeth at the two, before firing at Firebomber4 with the Icestoolcle Slings. Any overkill shots are fired at Firebomber3. Once this is done, Wyvern turns to grin at the Firebomber3, giggling slightly as he beckons him with a single finger.
