On a slightly different topic, my assumption is that Grimdarkness is not a quality unique to servants of the Outer Gods, but rather a way of referring to any number of similar syndromes. My own, for instance, is the result of chronic Monochromium poisoning from the ill-shielded reactor in my near-invulnerable power armor. And also trying to kill Outer Gods whenever they get near me.
