Out of curiosity, what would happen if I wanted to join the game? Is it closed now? Has anything truly fundamental about it changed since the last one? I haven't been able to find a clear summary of what's happened so far and looking at the actual thread seems meaningless. As far as I can tell, the whole thing's been completely railroaded to the point where the classic style of flat-out attacking the godmodder has basically been ignored and even the attacks against PG entities aren't even described or responded to. What's happened?

Now we have to actually fight the Godmodder seriously because we threw a party.
Also the Black Monolith is a thing that we have to defeat.

You can join at any time. It probably seems railroaded because I'm trying to introduce an actual plot into it, but for the most part, you can still do whatever you want. Nothing fundamental has changed, but there are a few new features that have been added that you may want to check out in the original post. The reason people aren't flat-out attacking the Godmodder is because they're too busy using said features and are essentially ignoring him, which is not what I want to happen, but whatever.

You can join in, it hasn't been completely railroaded. It just sort of feels like that right now. You have to work your way in now that there's an actual story. Start posting again, build yourself up, get a feel for alchemies and the like, then start breaking things. Feel free to attack the godmodder, since it seems attacks against the godmodder don't count against your standard action. The only reason I'm not attacking the godmodder is because I'm focusing more on the roleplaying portion (weird huh? Bet it seems completely alien that the game you joined so long ago has become this monstrosity eh?).
But yeah, its not too bad. If you jump in now and prepare a bit of stuff, you might get to do something big and fun in a certain upcoming event.

I know it's a bit confusing... Unfortunately, with this much new content, this many players constantly making new things, and this whole overarching story, it can be disorienting. This game is MUCH different from its prequel...

I think it's because it's gotten a lot more popular, and Twin, you've been allowing tons of new ideas to go through. You are right, it's MUCH different then the prequel.

In my defence, I was originally thinking of the usual horror setting, in which the protagonist is a mere mortal, semi-helpless in the face of the spoopy badness, as opposed to, say, us, the probably-partially-demonic-himself King of the Nether and a massive power armored human weapon of mass destruction.
