As is plainly obvious to anyone reading this story, the adventures of our heroes have been placed, with them included, in a self-induced suspended animation. Nothing is left, except fear, anger, doubt, and an overarching worry: the Scratch of Disc One, the operating system of the whole game, has gone kaput. However, no one seems to have told the Game Master this.
Watching the universe from atop his jade throne on a foreign moon, Doc Scratch is intent on making sure that everything proceeds the way it should. Even this, this Scratching, this seemingly random, unaccounted glitch in the matrix, was all according to his perfect little plan. A flash of green light signifies the return of his most trusted accomplice: an innocent Minecraft player.
DOC SCRATCH: So, you have returned, my Lioness. Tell me. Has the Scratch worked? STRUDELKITTY: ... DOC SCRATCH: Oh. It seems that I have, in my haste, forgotten to give you your speaking privileges back. Here. STRUDELKITTY: Thank you, master. You are an excellent host. DOC SCRATCH: You need not remind me, Strudel. I already know that. Hee hee hee. STRUDELKITTY: To answer your question, yes. STRUDELKITTY: Using Caledscratch as a focal point in order to effectively ruin the make-believe role-playing game these beings have ensconced themselves into was mere child's play. STRUDELKITTY: Even going across three universes in order to locate the Disc was fairly easy. STRUDELKITTY: And its effects have taken place. DOC SCRATCH: Perfect. All according to plan. DOC SCRATCH: You don't mind if I tell you a little story, do you, Strudel? STRUDELKITTY: ... DOC SCRATCH: I thought so. As you know, putting the players inside my Manor in order to work themselves up in order to get to me served many purposes. It allowed them to grow in strength so that they may gather enough power to complete great tasks. DOC SCRATCH: It allowed them to learn about impending threats. DOC SCRATCH: And, it allowed them to meet you. DOC SCRATCH: And with that, they could supply you the weapons you needed to become my greatest weapon. You are, in essence, the final pawn in an overarching gambit of chess, that will ensure my Invasion succeeds in its failure. DOC SCRATCH: Thanks to the Scratch, which has effectively stalled the playerbase, STRUDELKITTY: We can begin the final preparations for the Battle? STRUDELKITTY: Oh, meow! I love this part! DOC SCRATCH: Good. Can I see the victim? STRUDELKITTY: Here you go, Master. DOC SCRATCH: My, my. You really did a number on it. Good thing, too. The scratch is deep enough that even the Powers That Be should have a hard time completely fixing it. DOC SCRATCH: Now that that task is behind us, we can begin. DOC SCRATCH: I trust that you have alchemized the necessary ingredients for the procedure? STRUDELKITTY: Oh yes. An Originality Nullifier, a First Guardian Incubator, Caledkitty, and everything else! STRUDELKITTY: I even went forwards in time and stole some things! DOC SCRATCH: Excellent. You've played your part perfectly, Strudel. In allowing the players to take care of you, and with my guidance, you've become the most powerful player in this pantheon. STRUDELKITTY: Well, that's all done, Master. Now what? DOC SCRATCH: Now, we reveal the pantheon to the world, for what they truly are. STRUDELKITTY: And just what is it that they are?
