If the disc wasn't necessary, then Richard would have already been Psi before Scratch came along; The only logical conclusion are as follows: Piono didn't have the disc at the time (either he left it at base for safekeeping, he mistook a regular disc for the actual disc, the OP King didn't want him getting THAT strong until he came back fulle, or it just broke somewhere along the line); Richard did not realize the Disc wasn't needed until very recently (as did Piono; Scratch did and exploited) OR the breaking of the original disc associated with the Psi-Prophecy triggered something that caused all the discs to become irrelevant (and/or it was THAT specific disc)...That being said, THIS is a discussion that the Forge Thread should host.
