Mei takes damage because I forgot about Norbert's aura.

As the first action of the turn, Joebob stops maintaining the star trail and shoots at Incomplete On... wait... ... Okay, because this is a really minor thing, I'll just do it for you. From your current position, you can't actually hit the Incomplete One because Mei is in the way. So... I'll delay this action a bit.

Mei moves up and attacks. Because you're attacking with two weapons, you have two attack rolls. So first, the Arah Blade.

100% base, -50% from blinded, +50% from reflex = 100%. Gee.

15 damage, *1.5 from minicrit = 22.

Next, the Endothermic Blaster.

90% base, +50% from reflex, -50% = 90%, which hits.

10 damage base, *1.5 from minicrit, *1.25 from weakness = 18. So, it's a total of 40 damage.

"GRAH! MAYMEIDAY!"

Okay, now that Mei has moved, Joe can take his action. It's at a range of 24.5 meters, so...

75% base, +15 from range ,*1.35 from Dex = 121% hit chance. ... Dang it. No matter how many times I reroll, I can't rig it so you miss. ... I mean, what?

10 damage base, +3 from stored action, +1 from DEX = 14. I'll take the interpretation that's more favorable to you and say this deals 7 shadow damage and 7 light damage. So... 7 * 1.5 from weakness = 10 shadow damage, and 7 * .5 from resistance = 3 light damage, for a total of 13 damage. You then store 24 more EP in the wand.

Emerald then targets his face laser at Norbert's face. It's at a range of 22.13 blocks, so...

65% base, +5% from range = 70% hit chance, which... hits. In fact, it can get lined up such that it hits both Norbert and the Incomplete One behind him.

Against Norbert, it deals 16 base, +15 from INT, +5 from favored spell, *1.15 from passive, -1 from AC, *.5 from resistance = 20.

"FOOL! I CURRENTLY RESIST SHADOW!"

You get the feeling he likes to call people fools. Against the Incomplete One... Oh.

16 base, +15 from INT, +5 from favored spell, *1.15 from passive, *1.5 from weakness = 39 damage. ... That just one shots the poor thing. I wonder what I'm going to have to nerf.

Orothec fires at Zomble E, so it's at a range of 15.5 meters.

65% base, +10 from charge, *1.25 from DEX = 93.75% hit chance, which easily hits and deals 12 base, +1 from DEX, +6 from charge = 19 damage.

Paydaar moves to F58. And plays solitare.

Chloe moves to defend the other side and builds a turret. ... Or... she tries to anyway. She doesn't have the EP. Required: 35. Have: 24.

Lawrence runs to H44 and charges up. I always forget to remove the railgun charged status.
Finally, Gail builds two more blocks and hides under the platform because I know Norbert is doing to switch to air mode.



"GRAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! YOU FOOLS ARE MEAN!"

Norbert has taken exactly 85 damage, so he beats his powerful wings, almost knocking Mei over, and takes off. He soars high into the air, moving 20 blocks straight up. Starting next turn, he'll move south towards the other end of the map. Now, because Emerald is sitting around killing people, Norbert uses Volcanic Rage to lob an explosive at him, which explodes into a horrific inferno. It's close enough to Emerald to burn him, dealing 7 damage and inflicting... well... burn. Stay in the fire if you want to get burnt more.

Then, because you really cheesed me Norbert off, he targets Emerald with Elemental Lances.

The first lance hits with a roll of 59, even after a reroll, dealing another 7 damage and inflicting blind. Basically, Norbert can't hit with anything other than shadow damage with these. Now, time for all the other scatter rolls.

X = 1.86
Y = 9.00
Z = 5.32

This hits a block of wood and damages it.

X = 9.01
Y = 9.58
Z = 3.11

And this one hits the block right next to it.

X = -3.20
Y = -4.74
Z = 0.98

Gee. This one hits a block of wood too.

X = -7.29
Y = 7.81
Z = -4.85

This one achieves nothing.

X = 1.74
Y = 8.24
Z = -1.79

This final one hits and shatters one of the quartz blocks defending the shiny thing.

Now for the lesser enemies. Incomplete One B moves up behind Mei and attacks her, which hits because she has no reflex. So, it deals 5 damage.

The other Incomplete One builds a lovely little fort and then shoots at the Shiny Thing. It's through cover, so 40% * 0.6 = 24% chance, which misses.

X = -0.86
Y = -2.89
Z = 0.16

Instead, the shot hits Paydaar (who was acting as the cover) and explodes to hurt both him and Chloe, dealing 5 damage to the former and 0 damage to the later.

Every other Zomble moves forward. ... Considering how few of you guys are actually wounded, I need to up the difficulty a little... Two more enemies spawn, for failures always do seem to multiply...

You guys can still attack Norbert right now, by the way. Though, I would recommend trying to not die to his attacks.



The turn ends, and Mei takes poison damage.

To start us off, Zomble D is definitely not in LoS of Joebob. The zomble is on the other side of the shiny thing. So... I'm assuming you still want to put 10 EP into the wand. ... Wait... That Incomplete One is also completely out of LoS. ... Instead, Joe stores an action, I suppose.

Emerald walks off the side of the platform, taking 4 * .7 = 2 fall damage. He then shoots straight down, and misses the floor. Not like it matters. He heals himself for 6.

Even though it took me a while to find a firing arc that actually worked for this, Lawrence shoots his railgun at Norbert. It's at a range of 27.59 meters, so...

65% base, +20 from range, +10% from charge, *1.25 from dex = something over 100%.

11 base, +1 from dex, -1 from AC, +6 from charge = 17 damage.

Paydaar rushes up to the approaching zomble hoard, which seems like a really bad idea to me... But I suppose he does have that hammer bonus.

Orothec shoots Zomble E with an uncharged railgun shot at a range of 10.47 meters.

65% base, *1.25 from dex = 81.25% = 81.25%, which hits and inflicts 12 damage.

For Gail's action, she climbs up the wall of the shiny thing and builds some blocks to further her goal of making a little sniping post.



Well... nobody took cover. So...

Norbert flies 20 blocks south and bombs Emerald and Lawrence. It hits relatively the same space even after Gail's reroll. Congradulations! Everybody is on fire now!

Norbert then drops an explosive on the top of the castle. That might be dangerous.

Incomplete One B moves forward and melee attacks Mei again, dealing 4 damage to her and sealing her fate. Well, probably.

Incomplete One C moves forward and shoots at one of the planks guarding the shiny thing. It misses by 4%.

X = -5.90
Y = -1.87
Z = 1.07

It hits relatively close, and rolls for MAXIMUM DAMAGE, meaning it shatters all your quartz on that side, damages the planks, and deals 10 damage to the shiny thing.

Zomble D moves next to Paydaar and has to behold the hammer, so it dips back into cover to comprehend what it just saw.

Zomble E moves past Paydaar to behold the hammer and walks towards Orothec.

Zomble F walks around the Incomplete One and advances.

On the other side of the map, Incomplete One G advances next to its fallen companion and fires a birth nova right at the Shiny Thing. So, it has 50% base accuracy, *0.6 from cover = 30% hit chance, which misses.

X = -3.82
Y = 0.26
Z = -5.74

It flies through a different hole in the fortress and breaks the ladder. Brilliant bolts of light leap from the impact zone, and do basically nothing apart from causing a sponge and bookcase tower to appear.

The Creep Beep adds itself to the enemy registry and advances and launches a sulpher blast at the fort. It's a 25% hit chance, and it misses. Big surprise.

X = 1.18
Y = 1.03
Z = -6.28

The shot hits the staircase, damaging a lot of blocks, destroying part of Joe's cover, and dealing 4 damage to him.



The turn ends. So... Mei gans 2 HP, then loses 2 HP from poison, then loses another 2 HP from one debuff, putting her on death's door. Then she loses another 2 HP from the other DOT, and...

...

I rolled a 22. She lives.

She also wins the award for "most buffs/debuffs on a player at once".

I go to 42J, store 19 EP in the wand...
And use discharge.
JOE rises up into the air, glowing with purple flames and with black mist around him. He looks up at norbert and fires a beam of pure energy at him with but a flick of his wrist. JOE turns. he fires a beam at 69E. the block is rent apart by the force and undergoes fission similar to that within the sun. it explodes, dealing damage to incomplete one C and zombies F & D.
JOE looks back to the other side of the field, and fires a beam of energy at incomplete ones G & B, and creeper H.
NOTE: the actions stored raise the attack damage to 25-30
JOE then falls back to the ground, wand looking mundane and lifeless due to lack of EP stored within. well, I hit every enemy but one with that.
wait, which way is backwards?
i suppose south would make sense since i fired the most shots north.

Mei moves to (D28) before Joe takes his action, builds a 2-high tower of Quartz northwards, then swaps to Frozen Earth (because for some reason it wasn't swapped before Norbert was hit. Oh well.)

Emerald shoots straight down. And, he gains 5 HP because I forgot something. That something being, because he's burnt, he has less cold resistance. So... his healing should be better.

7 base, *1.25 from weakness, +5 from missing this last time = 13 HP. This also cures the current burn because I forgot about that interaction between cold damage and burn.

It also hits Lawrence, healing him for 8 and curing his burn. Sadly for Emerald though, he ends his turn in the fire and takes 10 more damage and refreshes the burn timer.

Mei moves to D28 and builds some quartz. Though... you need healing.

Joe moves to the top of the staircase. I assume he wanted to go to the top, because if he went under it, his next action would be... troublesome. Anyway, he shoots a discharge beam at the cluster of enemies to the south, which I think is an... interesting idea. Scatter time.

X = 7.55
Y = -2.06
Z = -3.04

The shot misses entirely because it didn't have a very good angle. Now, I didn't intend for the Discharge to work like this, but I guess I didn't word it properly. So... Joe shoots a blast at each enemy on the north side. Let's do the creeper first.

This shot misses entirely.

This shot hits the Incomplete One that it wasn't aiming for.

27 base, of which 13 is Light, 13 is Shadow, and 1 is typeless.

13 * .5 = 6. 13 * 1.5 = 19. So... it deals a total of 26 damage, whichs kills that Incomplete One.

Joe also gets an additional shot that he didn't take. So, I guess that gets shot at a point between the two enemies.

This shot also misses because discharge is much better used at a closer range. It's effectively a shotgun. He then flies backwards 5 blocks and takes 2 fall damage.

Orothec runs behind the Zomble and stabs it.

60% base, +25% from dex, +10% from reflex = 95%, which lands all three times, dealing 7 + 8 + 7 + 4 = 26 damage, which kills it.

Paydaar runs over to the dead zomble and tries to pull Orothec off stabbing it more.

Lawrence does a vague "take cover from Norbert" action. ... Well... Technically off the map in the void is in cover from Norbert...

Nah. Lawrence moves to 41K, but under the staircase. Then he charges up.

Chloe moves to C55 and tries to shoot Zomble F.

50% base, *.4 from high cover (as you can't realy shoot around the staircase well) = 20%, which misses.

Er... Whelp. The shot hits the staircase right in front of Chloe. If this was D&D, that's the equivalent of rolling a natural 1. It explodes and deals 7 * .7 * .9 = 4 damage to Chloe. Plus, it breaks a bunch of her cover.

Gail builds two defensive blocks and climbs up a block.




As the biggest enemy, Norbert leads the start of the enemy turn. As his turn starts, the fires go out and the egg on the second floor explodes, damaging everything in 3 meters. Your fort is starting to fall apart. So, we'll see if protecting it is worth anything.

Norbert flies 20 blocks south and decides Emerald hasn't burnt enough and throws down more fire, dealing 10 damage to Emerald and 8 damage to Joebob.

Then he drops another explosive around the same spot as before so he can mine through your castle.

Incomplete One C moves around the side of the cover it made and shoots a birth nova at Orothec. 50% hit chance, which misses.

However, it's close enough to hit anyway, dealing 4 Light damage to him. Now time for more scatter.

The shot hits Paydaar and explodes, though it can't place down blocks. It deals 2 damage to Paydaar and 1 damage to Orothec. Big hits.

This shot flies off into nowhere.

This shot also hits Paydaar, dealing 4 damage to him and 2 damage to Orothec.

And guess what? This shot hits the ground under Paydaar, dealing 2 damage to him and 4 damage to Orothec.

Zombles F and D both move up to Orothec and attack. Both have a 50% hit chance, and... they both hit. Though, Gail rerolls one. ... Yet it still hits. Sheesh. The first deals 16 base, +1 from AC, *1.1 from weakness, *.7 = 13 damage. The second deals 15 base, +1 from AC, *1.1 from weakness, +5 bonus, *.7 = 15 damage.

Incomplete One G moves forward and fires a Disassemble at the Shiny Thing, which has a 24% hit chance, which hits. The enemies are getting extremely lucky... The shot breaks most of the defenses in front of the Shiny Thing and deals 8 damage to it. It also hits Emerald and Joebob, dealing 3 damage to the former and 5 damage to the later.

Finally, as our last action, the Creep Beep moves up by 7 blocks and shoots at the castle wall with a 25% hit chance. This, as expected, misses.

Z = -4.39

It hits the ground and does nothing.




It's now the end of the turn, and... Mei fails her first Death's Door roll, thus dying to her DOTs. No matter what the result was, Mei would have died because she had too many DOTs. You did have... a bandage in the group inventory though.

I did give you guys those revives because I thought you would need them. Move adjacent to Gail if you want to use one.

Norbert randomly takes 22 damage because I didn't do Joebob's action correctly.

Emerald moves out of the fire, preferably away from Norbert, and casts Infernal Grace (Shadow Divine Grace) on himself, because heals are important when he has like no health left
