Uh... maybe actually read the waiver first?

Also, if we're in 12th grade, we might not actually be old enough to legally sign a document like this.

Edit- I know, I'm so boring.

It's a waiver. I'm not going to write a legal document for this. There's no tricks in it where the occult club gains ownership of your soul and/or body, if that's what you're worried about.

...you aren't, but assume the school doesn't care/your parents will sign anything, because that's a very acceptable break from reality.

Crystal hands you a pen, and you sign the waiver without even reading it. Crystal grins, takes the waiver, and immediately hands it to Build.

"Uh... snake pit?" Build asks.

Crystal quickly leaves, leaving you to answer Build's questions. You shrug.

"You know, I can ultimately be held responsible for any club stuff," he continues.

You assure him you'll try your best not to die or get badly injured.

He nods, reading the waiver, "Hey, this says you're responsible for anything the occult club does at the fair..."

You grab the waiver from Build's hands and look at it. He points out some tiny text near the bottom. You squint. So it does... You shrug. Build said they did something bad last year, but it couldn't have been that bad... Right?

Who will you ask about what the occult club did during last year's fair? Erelye and Crystal? Or Build?

Well, being in charge of the club fair presentation is basically losing your soul. At least from my experience. Told you ya shoulda read the paper.

I second the above motion.

You're not necessarily in charge, just responsible if, say, something goes wrong.

Ask Build. Then ask the others again later. Get both sides of the story.

You decide you should probably ask Build what happened. Maybe you'll ask the occult club later.

"Oh, uh..." Build pauses for a second, "Why don't you ask Crystal and Erelye?"

You shrug, even though you know that was rhetorical.

"Well, I guess it's fine..." Build says, "The occult club actually had a fairly normal stand, but Crystal and Erelye had a different idea."

You nod, waiting for him to continue.

"They brought in a live chicken, and uh... Disemboweled it? Huge health risk, and the school takes killing animals very seriously, with the history of a few students..." Build pauses, then drops his voice, "...including Erelye."

Welp. You're not really sure how to react... The occult club killed a chicken at the fair? And Build seemed to imply Erelye got in here because he killed animals too... Build seems to notice your reaction, or perhaps, lack of it.

"I said you might be able to help them out, but..." Build pauses, "They got in a ton of hot water, so I don't know if you want to be responsible for it. Now that they lead the club, no one's there to reign them in."

You nod, then ask Build what kind of trouble they got in.

"Well if the principal got what he wanted, they would've been killed, or worse, expelled," Build replies, "...there's not exactly a lot of places that will take students kicked out from here."

You nod, then ask what they weren't expelled.

"Well, their marks are top of the school. Near the top of the school board, actually. They're both actual geniuses, if you believe them," Build says, "No offense, but you don't seem like you have that buffer."

You shrug, but yeah, you're no genius. Build seems to be considering something.

"You're supposed to stick with your club, but..." Build hesitates, "Do you want to join the student council instead? I can get you a switch in this special case."

Well, do you?

((You've built up a lot of relationship points with Build. This coversation has pushed him above Crystal and Erelye, so... here's a switch/out if you want it.))

Apparently, I appear more in the student council plot. Plus this seems weird. So, yes, SWITCH!

Also, will the waiver's terms continue even if we switch? If yes, that may bite us in the butt.

You quickly agree. Build smiles, and tears the waiver in two with a single motion.

"Don't worry about that, I'll talk with Erelye and Crystal," he says, "Could you swing by the student council room after school? There'll be sheets for you to sign."

You nod. Twin stands up from his seat.

"Welcome to the team!" Twin says cheerfully, "Now, I'm gonna go talk to a few people in the other class."

Sure enough, he walks over to the other table. There's still a few minutes before lunch ends, maybe you should talk to someone else at your table?

Who will you make conversation with?

((Choices: Tazz, Modpack, Astria, Cobalt))
